listen. I’ve had my official Mental Health ™ diagnosis for 8 years now. 8 years of weaving back and forth between therapy and medication and facing traumas and deconstructing shit. 8 years of having at least some explanation as to why I feel the way I do…

though the reality is, of course, that I’ve felt this way my entire life, I just didn’t have the words.

There have been some real real REAL shit times and they all sort of swirl around in my memory, and I always wonder if they’ll be there forever. Who knows? Maybe.

But let me tell you something. I know for a damn fact, I will never forget about 4 weeks ago. And I know, because I’m still thinking about it. Every detail, every fucking millisecond…

I was just driving. Driving to IKEA to replace the duvet set on our bed. My partner and I have had the same one forever and I wanted to give our a room a refresh. It was a surprise for my partner. I was excited. The road was shitty, the traffic was okay, and the sun kept getting in my eyes. I turned early and ended up in a grocery store parking lot. I was listening to one of my favorite podcasts. And suddenly I just randomly thought it—

“Hey. I’m happy.”

8 years of never naming it. 8 years of feeling so close to the feeling but never having the confidence to say “yeah I’m totally and completely happy.” All that work, for this little moment. I know it won’t stick permanently, but I’ve fucking caught it, and I’m gonna do it again and again.

My point is—it’s coming for you. It’s racing right towards you and you’re not gonna see it coming. It’s gonna happen at the stupidest of moments. And it’s gonna be great. Do not stop working for it, do not stop pushing—you deserve this. No matter what your brain tells you, you deserve this and everything else good.

Woulda been nice if it was today just sayin. Could have calmed me down after “calling out sick” from my toxic job to go to an interview somewhere I’m not 100% sure I’ll even get offered a job.

people talking about ai on this site is so weird. Why is my post on kittybroker that I won't evaluate ai cats getting so many notes compared to the average text post. It really isn't that exciting or important of an opinion. I just get a lot of cats in and prefer to do cats that are in some way real and would kind of like people to sometimes check before messaging me about it or sending me ai pictures.
