Im so sorry whats the plot of twisted wonderland? What is with that fellow honest guy?
Plot of Twisted Wonderland is basically the player is transported to a place where magic is real. Attend a prestigious school called Night Raven College, where you are the only magicless being ever to be part of it. Characters you meet will be based or loosely a "twist" version of Disney characters, mostly the villains side. You can say that this is Disney mixed with Harry Potter and Madoka Magica. Why the latter? Can't spoil too much, best you find that out on your own.
As for Fellow Honest or Ernesto Foulsworth in EN (despite the former name is the original JP that has perfect English), he is a twisted version character based on Honest John in Pinocchio. If you had watched the film, the character is charismatic, lies, and is greedy. In the film, Honest John would get Pinocchio sent to Pleasure Island, where bad boys turned into donkeys and sell them off. Honest John getting money in return for helping another bad guy that planned this, even when Honest John was hesitant at first. This is one of the closest things considered human child trafficking ever shown in a kid's film as it follows the book's conflict. Even worse in the book, we even read one of Pinocchio's friends that turns into a donkey, DIES from being so overworked. By the end of the film, Honest John never gets caught for participating what he did. In the book, however, he becomes blind, deaf, and disabled as punishment for what he did to Pinocchio. The Halloween event that Fellow appears in for the first time, has him following similarly to the original story. Tricking boys to skip school and trap them. Instead of donkeys, they become wooden puppets and would sell them off to rich folks that are part of the black market. We mostly hear other park goers that are young adult voices screaming and panicking, but the implications that a child may have attended there and met a similar dark fate, is still there, due to how long Fellow Honest has been doing this for years. Being a Disney game, it may have crossed some dark tones, but never as far like this. When it was originally out in the JP release for the first time, people were shocked that it touched that side. However, by the end, like the Disney film, it resulted into Fellow Honest not being harshly punished for his crimes. Instead, he lets the boys go, destroying the theme park he had worked in, and claimed that he will start a new school for all walks of life, both magic and magicless users. The EN fandom at first, were upset. Even if he was not the Mastermind behind the human trafficking, he was still part of it by kidnapping people and selling them off. We don't know what the rich people would do to the human puppets. Imaginations run wild on what the rich folks do the people turned into puppets and if the puppets can be still conscious or not after being unable to move and silenced. That's what makes it dark. The motivations for Fellow doing this is because he grew up poor and an orphan. His magic was not good enough to be able to attend school and showed disdain towards kids who had the chance to go to those places when he couldn't. It wasn't until he was picked up by someone and having him take part of crimes to earn money and food, including to the human trafficking. This backstory is still kept for JP and EN release. However, it's strange when it was first out in Japan, the Western fandom had disliked the way the event ended him being 'redeemed' by not via one of the main SSR boys via Talk-no-Jutsu (as most of the event endings would be this), but by a phone call that Fellow Honest decides to change his mind. The true Mastermind is also still doing human trafficking or worse even after Fellow left. So past victims of it are either still suffering or dead. But in EN release, people are now sympathizing him because of his shitty background. People bring things like communism in this as to why Ernesto should be sympathized and what he was doing was justified. Is it because the translation made it more obvious in EN release despite both kept the same motivations? I'm not sure why the change of heart now.

Student council president who cultivated a near-extinct plant in an attempt to eradicate magic from the world and possibly kill the royal heir to one of the most powerful kingdoms VS conman who tried to sell teenagers-turned-wooden puppets for money and snuck into the same school those teenagers go to alongside his sidekick who bashes people with a hammer VS upcoming secret third thing FIGHT

The problem with Ernesto Foulsworth is the fact that the first name is Ernesto. TECHNICALLY there have been SOME italian people named Ernesto but come on, it’s a spanish name guys, that’s like naming Rollo “Abraham Firepervert”
That is fucking hilarious but also I totally understand what you're saying but like GOD

Although I agree that it sounds dumb, I think the reason TWST EN gave Fellow the last name "Foulsworth" was to call back to Honest John's full name, "Honest" John Worthington Foulfellow. Instead of going with the last part of his last name, like JP did, EN squished the first parts of Honest John's last and first name together, most likely to make it sound more like a last name, which I find kinda funny.
And "Ernesto" sort of sounds like "Earnest" which can be a synonym of honest.
And Gino apparently has a similar meaning to Gideon, much more similar than Gidel is. Gino, in Italian, has a few meanings related to farmers and war and Gideon, translated from hebrew, seemingly means "one who cuts down" which can either mean a laborer or a warrior felling an opponent. Gidel has more meanings linked with greatness, streams and fountains, and leaders, depending on the language.
And to top it all off, Both Ernesto and Gino are Italian names. And where did Pinnochio take place? A Tuscan village in Italy, located between Pisa and Florence.
Even if they sound different and a little strange, I can't help but appreciate the fact that they got Italian names to go along with the fact that they were twisted from characters that originally came from an Italian fairytale that try to match the meanings they were given.
I just think that's neat. :)
Yeah, I saw a post explaining Fellow and Gidel's name changes and why they were chosen. Which is neat, cause the history behind a character, but also...Fellow flows way better than Ernesto....I give Gidel to Gino a pass.

I have no idea why people do not like Mr. Ernesto Foulsworth and his companion Gino. This is the best. I love it. Earnesto really makes him sound like some sort of baron. Or a magician, perhaps. And Gino. Of course. The little guy. Gino. Yknow. This is great. I love it.

It's scary that Fellow/Ernesto used to be hated in JP release for human trafficking, but EN release, has now them defending him instead because 'fuck the rich' and 'communism rules' even when they still kept that he is taking in people to sell them off to said rich folks.
