Some other changes I made in my crossover. (WARNING: spoilers for my own work)

So I'm planning on releasing my first piece of work on ao3 in December, My remarried empress rewrite and if anyone wants to know what changes are made (and basically spoliers) read below. If you wish you avoid spoilers, please skip until you reach the paragraph in purple.

Navier is not the protagonist anymore, the new protagonist is an OC Aurelia.

More Oc's will be added in the plot with big roles, some you may have already seen on tumblr (Malori, Eva, Royce, Erdene, Ralph, Marybelle)

Delice and Phix will have bigger roles then they did originally.

Some of the characters will have different appearances based on description.

Rashta isn't the villian anymore.

As a crossover would suggest there is other characters from different media in it (minecraft story mode, the princesses jewels, into the light once again, bits of Steven universe and references to the orespawn minecraft mod)

Duke Ergi (unfortunately) had to be aged up for Eva's back story to make sense.

Navier is a morally grey character with her biggest flaw is that she is a willing bystander to evil if it benefits her.

Sovieshu stops pining after Navier at a specific point and marries a third time to an OC. (guess who it is 🙂)

There will be moments of tonal whiplash to show how vastly different the commoners and slaves conditions are compared to the nobility.

Duke Ergi is killed.

Heinrey is the main antagonist for the first half, the second half being Lari.

If you saw a earlier post with a fried chicken bucket then you probably already know Heinrey isn't getting away with that shit alive.

Sovieshu is also killed in the end of the first act.

Finally there will be trigger warning for a lot of dark subjects such as: SA, grooming, childhood abuse, loss of innocence, slavery, descriptions of mutilation, war, racism and homophobia, and more.

Im a pretty decent writer but I still have flaws in it just like everyone else. One of my biggest flaws as a person is that I don't take criticism or critique well which is really detrimental for an author, you simply can't be a good writer if you don't accept critique. It's also pretty hypocritical for me to be criticizing other manhwa and comics while I can't even take critique well myself. I've been trying to thicken my skin by letting my family, friends, and teachers read over some of my shorter stories + essays and among the compliments I also got fair critique for plot holes or things I've could've done better, it did sting my pride but it did help me turn the prototype of the crossover from a mess of a plot to something a little more polished.

I want to be able to improve my writing anyway I can so when the fic comes out and you see a glaring problem, please tell me so I'll know what it is to fix when I make my next work, thank you.

I will also be releasing little asks before December on certain aspects I'm still unsure about.

a/n: hello!! it's been a while, omg. schools has been soo annoying, but i'm back! lmk how this is, and i hope you enjoy!

"Your Highness, are you sure you'll be alright?" One of the other ladies in waiting asks. "Of course, I have Lady (y/n) with me after all." She responds with a polite smile, gesturing to you. "She's competent," She adds.

"Oh, you're too kind, Your Highness," You say softly, feeling your cheeks warm up. "It's true," One of the other ladies-in-waiting chimes in, "She does more work than any of us. It's no wonder Her Majesty is bringing Lady (y/n) along." She continues, gushing while describing her fellow noblewoman.

"Oh, please. That's not true." You deflect, smiling politely. "Haha, as helpful as she is, I believe it's time for us to head to the Eastern Kingdom." Empress Navier chips in, stopping the other girls from continuing the conversation further.

A knight helps the Empress into a carriage, helping you in shortly after. The Emperor seemed too busy with paperwork regarding the empire's financial affairs and would head off at a later time.

As you arrive at the Eastern Kingdom, several guards ━along with the King himself, and Duke Ergi━ come to greet you at the entrance of the palace.

"Welcome! Esteemed guests, I hope your trip wasn't too draining?" The King asks, shaking both your and the Empress' hands. "I don't believe you've met Duke Ergi yet? He's a close friend of mine." The King continues, introducing the Duke.

"Ah, Hello, Your Majesty," He says, directing his greeting towards the Empress. "And you are?" He asks towards you, a soft smile gracing his features.

"Lady (y/n), Her Majesty's lady-in-waiting." You introduce yourself, politely. "Well, it's very nice to meet you, Lady (y/n)." He takes your hand in his and places a soft kiss on your knuckles, smiling mischievously at you as he pulls away.

Sharing a knowing look with the Empress, the King starts, "We could have had Lady Krista's ladies-in-waiting tend to you during your stay."

"No, no. It's quite alright, Lady (y/n) is one of my best." She compliments. "Well, in that case, it should be fine. Let's head in then." The King continues.

As one of the servants shows you and the Empress to your designated rooms, you allow Her Majesty to enter her chamber and rest first, helping her wash up and settling her in.

As you are about to head back to your own room, you are stopped by none other than Duke Ergi. "Care for a stroll, Lady (y/n)? The palace gardens are beautiful at this time."

"Ah, are you sure?" You ask. "Of course." He responds, a devilish smile presenting itself on his lips. "Well, if it's alright with you." You continue, dismissing his suggestion as a friendly gesture; to get to know you better.

Following the Duke's lead, you head towards the garden, a blissful silence presenting itself in the air. He leads you both towards under different hedges and to a fountain, surrounded by different kinds of flowers. The water glistens in the moonlight and the flowers provide a beautiful array of color, surrounding the greys of the fountain and stones.

"Oh my, they're-" You start, astound by the beauty of it all, "They're stunning."

"They are, aren't they?" The Duke smiles at you, guiding you to the fountain and sitting on the ledge, gesturing you to sit next to him.

He plucks a flower near it and hands it to you. "It's lovely.." You smile, holding it between your fingers, and smiling gleefully.

"Oh, actually, I believe we should head back now. It's getting late." You stand up and dust off your dress, following the Duke as he guides you back to your sleeping quarters.

"I had fun, if you have time, I'd like to bring you to a place with even better scenery." He kisses your knuckles and lets go of your hand, as you enter the room.

"Better than that? Then, I'll have to take you up on the offer." You smile, closing the door behind you. Walking towards your bedside table, filling a vase with water, and placing the flower in it.

Walking back to his sleeping quarters, Duke Ergi smiles as he thinks to himself, 'She kept the flower..'

"It seems the Duke has taken a liking to you, (y/n)." The Empress states, glancing at you in the mirror as you fix her hair. "Oh, is that so? He seems like a kind person."

"Well, whatever the situation. Please let me know if he steps out of line." She responds. "Of course, though I would be the first to put him in his place." You giggle, tying her hair off with a bow.

Over your stay, you and the Duke grow closer. Sneaking out at night, watching plays, and looking at art exhibitions. All in the name of friendship, of course. There's no way the Duke feels the same way, you think.

On your final day, the Duke hands you a basket of peonies, with a letter attached to it.

"Peonies? They're lovely." You smile, feeling your cheeks grow warm.

"Yes, they mean-"

"Prosperity, wealth, and good fortune." You cut him off with a giggle.

'And love and affection..' The Duke thinks to himself, slightly dejected that you didn't pick up his hidden message. Well, hopefully, his letter will display his feelings.

"Lady (y/n), time to go." One of the servants informs you, a coy smile on their lips.

"Heading back already? Then, shall I visit the Eastern Empire sometime? You can show me around, there." He places a soft kiss to the back of your knuckles, causing the tips of your ears to burn.

"You should."

"I'll hold you to that."

When you arrive back, you quickly help the Empress, wash up, and sit at a small table in your room. You already placed the flowers in a nearby vase, and all was left to open the letter. You carefully open the envelope and unfold the paper.

My Dearest (Y/N),

I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits. I find myself at a loss for words as I attempt to put into writing the sentiments that have been growing in my heart for some time now.

It is a confession of love that I feel compelled to share with you, not knowing how you may receive it, but hoping that you will understand the depth of my emotions. From the very first moment we crossed paths, you captured my heart with your grace, your kindness, and your gentle spirit.

➺ THE COLD PALACE (冷宫, LĚNGGŌNG) was not a specific, singular palace but rather a general term used to refer to places where disfavored imperial concubines, consorts, or court members were sent. These women were effectively confined, losing the emperor’s favor and their political or social standing. The Cold Palace was often located in remote or less-maintained parts of the Forbidden City, far from the central Inner Court and main residential areas.

There is historical evidence suggesting that parts of the Six Western Palaces or other unused, deteriorating buildings within the Forbidden City were sometimes repurposed as Cold Palaces. One of the more commonly referenced Cold Palace locations is the Palace of Prolonged Happiness (Yanxi Gong) after it fell into disrepair following a fire during the Qianlong Emperor’s reign.

These spaces were intentionally isolated, with simple or dilapidated conditions, reflecting the loss of favor of those confined there.

McKenna is very annoyed, irritated and displeased about Ergi putting themselves involved in such [ leave Your imagination] situation.

Ngl, Ergi looks like Taejoo from Low Tide in Twilight.

Hmm, must think before it's over; I got it! Male!Levi Ackerman!Reader in the Remarried Empress world being Navier's personal guard having been trained for most of his life after being an orphan (avoiding too many spoilers for possible future readers who may not have gotten that far). Despite his small size, MC is the world's strongest for a reason. As kids, they had small crushes on each other but now as adults they're full-blown in love though they hide their feelings because neither wants the other's reputation to be ruined.

That doesn't mean they're not slightly more affection behind closed doors but they're still pretty careful. When Heinrey starts sniffing around, MC gets slightly nervous because Heinrey is of royal blood and can offer a far greater life for Her Majesty even with a scandal.

After being discreetly reassured, he relaxes but keeps a wary eye on the Prince just in case. He's coldly courteous to the Emperor but pretends as if Trashta doesn't exist (never in front of Sovieshit though). He's in good graces with Kosair (who knows of the mutual feelings between the guard and his sister) but greatly dislikes Duke Ergi Claude for the bad vibes.

If Navier catches feelings for Heinrey, MC will be devastated but willing to back off to be Her Majesty's unwaveringly loyal guard as he understands she may very well not want two lovers after what she had to go through with the Emperor (maybe the three of them can talk about what's best for them because healthy communication is lowkey sexy~)

(Do the Emperor and Mistress have any idea of something that may have been brewing between them before everything went to shit leading up to and after the divorce? An inkling? Or is it brushed aside as paranoia?)

He genuinely did not like you, and it’s partially because of your closeness with Her Imperial Majesty. The other part of it was the fact that you were humanity’s strongest, and were a renowned soldier and knight, as well as a hero. You were worshiped and praised by the people, holding more popularity than him.

In addition to that, he knew of your little rendezvous with Navier each night, you giving her the affection that he himself starved her of. However, he will also keep the little affair under wraps, since he would be painted as the bad guy who got in the way of you two.

You were very cold towards him and Rashta, and he was always offended by anything you did. What was worse was that Navier acted the same way towards him and his mistress, and he didn’t know who to blame for this.

When Heinrey came around, he was distraught. Not only were you trying to steal his wife, but also this young prince from the Western Kingdom. Perhaps you were trying to gang up against him and win the support of the public. You used to be a commoner yourself, so it wouldn’t be hard for you.

Rashta

You were a heartthrob in the Empire, and when she first saw you she could see why. However, you only had eyes for Navier. You were cold, but respectful towards Rashta, and that made the young mistress very upset. She really needs to learn how to take ‘no’ for an answer.

She constantly tries to get Sovieshu to assign you as her personal guard rather than his wife’s, but to no avail. You were a knight who swore your undying loyalty to Her Imperial Majesty, Navier. You even said her name in the vow so that in the case she was divorced from Sovieshu, you would still be loyal to her and her alone.

When the Emperor wasn’t present, you just ignored her and she hated it. She often pulled out the fake tears to try and get you to notice her, but it’s all in vain. Rashta was constantly getting more and more upset that you didn’t love her in return.

The young mistress was constantly praying to whatever gods were listening that your relationship with the Empress would be destroyed one way or another. Be it by someone finding out about your feelings, or by Heinrey stealing Navier from you, she didn’t care.

Navier

You both had known each other since you were children, and you both were in love. It broke your hearts when the two of you heard that she had been betrothed to Sovieshu, but you made a promise to her to become her knight.

Then, the fateful day where she knighted you and assigned you as her personal guard. You had gone through each of the ranks and worked your way up to the top. You were a captain as well as a general of the army of the Eastern Empire. 

She loved you dearly, and you became her lover. When you were away on a mission, you wrote her letters detailing your love for her. Then when you came back, she would invite you to her chambers where you both embraced each other.

The moment that Heinrey came into the picture, Her Imperial Majesty could feel the tension. She did genuinely love you both, so she proposed the thought of a harem. You and the prince knew that you both wanted her to be happy, and you realized that neither of you were as bad as you originally thought, so it worked out.

He knows of you because stories of you have reached all around the world. You were a valiant soldier, known as Humanity’s Strongest. You also climbed through the ranks, going from commoner to general of the army of the Eastern Empire.

This is where you both came up with the idea of Navier divorcing Sovieshu, marrying Heinrey, and you joining them. Her Imperial Majesty was very delighted that the two of you would set aside your differences just for her, and things started getting better between the three of you.

I feel like he would be delighted by this fact because he knows that you would be able to treat his sister right. However, she was currently married to a stupid man we all know as Sovieshu. This is quite the conundrum that you both found yourself in. Not just that, but Heinrey came into the picture.

He knows that your reputation as Humanity’s Strongest would definitely aid you in your mission to woo Navier, but you had the Crowned Prince of the Western Kingdom to compete against. As much as he didn’t really like the idea, he asked if you ever thought about sharing her with Heinrey.

By the way, when he becomes a knight in the Western Kingdom, he goes under your command. You train him the hardest, claiming that you can’t show favoritism towards any soldier. However, he soon became your right hand man.

Former slave of Nian and her husband, her job doubles as security since she knows how to use a sword but isn't allowed to join the military due to her past. Disclaimer: just gotta clear a few things up first. For anyone concerned for the age difference between Evalie and Ergi, he does not do anything to her, Ergi is a monster but he has standards and I will explain below why they got married to begin with. Also she has nothing to do with the Evalie from the original story, I just really like the name and I thought it would still fit since several historical figures shared a name at the same time period, still to avoid confusion I will call her Eva.

LORE DUMP: Malori and Eva's father, Sandro was a fallen Baron who was stripped of his title after going bankrupt from the consequences of schemes, scams and general white collar crime,though many think he just got sloppy it was actually because his partner at the time (Ergi) had screwed him over in trial by delivering the evidence. He and his wife changed their surnames in order not to be recognized and had 3 daughters, M+E being the older sisters to the baby Claire. The Hemsleys had little money to spare considering most of it went to the girls so Malori already had work experience as the oldest by wandering the streets to look for jobs such as chimney sweep or apprenticeships. As the years went on, Sandro grew to see all his daughters as burdens since it was harder for Malori and Eva to work as girls and Claire was too young and sickly and while he would rather not get rid of the daughter that did the most work, Malori would be more desired since she already has a track record of being able to perform most simple jobs. On Christmas eve, Sandro gave Malori extra food and let her stay home instead of working as a sort of compensation for what he was about to do. He doesn't tell Malori about what he's and her mother are going to do and shortly after, he sells Malori to a slave trader when she's 13 for enough money to last 3 years if spent wisely.

She winds up in the Tuania estate and becomes a slave. As a result, Malori starts to despise the noble class the older she gets but she also knows survival comes first and even after she escapes by burning the place down she still appealed to the higher class in order to manipulate some of them for her own gain such as becoming a rich man's mistress so she can take advantage of his eagarness by convincing him to let her get swordsmanship lessons. Once she abandons him Malori goes on a 2 month long journey of going out under a different name drinking at taverns, engaging in duels and even writting a few poems. After those months of utter depravity, she is inevitably caught and sent to be judged by Sovieshu himself after she attacks a nobleman, but instead of imprisoning Malori, Sovieshu was impressed that someone like her could defeat some of the imperial knights and even another noble, he decides to give her an ultimatum: live here as extra security while also doing maid work or be sent to prison for 30 years. Naturally she chooses the former.

As for Eva, she and her remaining family lived off the money Sandro got for selling her older sister for the time being, she and Clarie was told that Malori had died during the blizzard in a carriage accident and as the new oldest, Eva had to pick up the slack and go out for work. This time however Sandro had a new scheme to rise back in the ranks by looking to marry Eva off to a wealthy/powerful man starting as soon as possible. By now Clarie was dying of tuberculosis and the desperation for Eva to get married was not just for status reasons but also so Sandro wouldn't have to raise anymore children. What was not expected however was Duke Ergi to show himself after all this time much to Sandros fury. He offers to marry Eva with the promise letting the parents live in their own little home with fertile land to live off of. There wasn't much choice left and they might as well let Claire have a little happiness before she dies so Eva gets married off when she's 14.

On their wedding night, Ergi makes it clear to Eva that he is not a good man and does not plan to be loyal to her and that she shouldn't see him as some sort of savior who rescued her from poverty. While he doesn't sexually abuse Eva that doesn't mean he's nice to her either. The real reason he married at all was because it was the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the situation and have a perfect tool to sacrifice in the future. I wouldn't say he's full on toxic to her either.. it's a weird relationship where they mostly ignore each other but on occasion can have a decent conversation. She's not totally alone either since she has other friends thanks to her popularity in the fashion area.

Eva also suffers from endometriosis, due to the time period set, no one really knows what's happening to her and some even accuse her of faking it for attention, to ease this pain, Eva is given potions made up of opium and the nerves of certain monsters as a painkiller everyday during her times of the month, the side affects cause her to become disoriented and exhausted which keep her docile and obedient. Effectively killing 2 birds with one stone not just for Ergi but also the house of Lazlo in the future.
