Manifestation: Suffering

"Torture. Pain. Agony. Torment.

Soothe. Comfort. Alleviate. Mercy.

The Suffering Manifestation has the ability to inflict or remove pain in an entity or entities. Causing enough pain to an entity might even render them unconscious! Or, in the opposite direction: you can keep your allies from folding under intense interrogation techniques!

Interestingly enough, a being that cannot feel pain, like a mechanical entity, receives a negative stimulus, similar to pain, but it does not necessarily render them unconscious in the same way.

I haven't done Etrian Odyssey music of the day in a while. I should bring that back.

Anyway, take VERY SPECIFICALLY the FM version of Final Battle - The Future of the World from Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl

Etrian Odyssey Homebrew?

I wonder how possible/doable it would be to translate Etrian Odyssey stuff to dnd? Because I kind of want to figure it out.

I think most of the classes would be fairly easy to map to already existing classes (Landsknecht = Fighter, Protector = Paladin, Survivalist = Ranger), but there are some more out-there ones that would need some work, like the War Magus and Hexer. And some that are technically races by shown more as classes so I would probably change those to races.

And the various in-game races would be run to make usable as, you know, actual playable races! (And not just the ones you actually get to play as in EO5.)

Not to mention the spells/abilites that are “class” specific and the many cool monsters...

So, uh, to my fellow EO players who also play dnd, got any suggestions for how to map them to a potential Homebrew to play?

Manifestation: Sight

"Do you ever feel like you're not as good with bows as you wanna be? Do you ever worry of forgetting something important? Fine print on the contract too small for your mortal eyes to see? Well, the Sight Manifestation might be for you!

Sight effectively gives you better than 20/20 vision while it's active, boosting your Intuition and Perception stats. You also get an ever so slight increase to your ranged attack power. In other words: you shoot 1% better! Nice!

You can also use Sight on a creature to find out more information on it, letting you gain more info the longer you have Sight active, including stuff you probably wouldn't know normally. You could find out your boss's normal route to the local Walmart, your coworker Jerry's relationship with his wife, or why the hell Dan keeps stealing your lunch from the fridge. Jerk.

However, there are a couple drawbacks to this: larger creatures (measured by their largest dimension, i.e. your mom would be measured in width) require you to expend more Potential to look at them better, while smaller creatures have a minimum size cost. You also need to be wary of creatures that don't want you looking at them with the Magical Eye Of Look At Things Better, as if they're trying to hide information, it incurs a complexity cost that increases the better they are at not being looked at."
