Peters Eulophia, aka Eulophia petersii, is blooming nicely this week here in Storrs. I don't need to tell the locals that it's been a really hot week here in the northeastern US so we might as well stick with the theme. This xeric orchid is found in the hot, dry woodlands of Zimbabwe rather than the more typical damp areas we typically think of orchids as inhabiting. Stay cool everyone... #UConn#Botany #Biodiversity #Ecology #greenhouse #orchids — view on Instagram https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/vp/64745588c71686a2bacb5c58a83d745e/5BCBE2E5/t51.2885-15/sh0.08/e35/s640x640/35617855_196657691019861_8298912349666934784_n.jpg?efg=eyJ1cmxnZW4iOiJ1cmxnZW5fZnJvbV9pZyJ9

Cattleya Hagans Ace
'Mandarin Orange'
Another one I've had for approx 5-6 years, received as a birthday gift from EFG Orchids clearance rack from my mom along with catt. turners ace. Never bloomed (so far) but made a remarkable comeback from the brink of rot with 4 canes and two half inch roots.

Not counting phalenopsis, this is perhaps my oldest orchid. Purchased from the clearance rack of EFG in either 2018 or 2019. Lately its been doing a bit rough ive gotta find somewhere nicer for it to grow in peace
