A Cornucopia for You!

It’s not like you had much of a choice in the session you were attending. Your job that had gotten you through grad school that you were going to leave as soon as the fall semester started had let you off just an hour ago, and incoming members of faculty at the university had to shadow two lectures before they began to teach, themselves. You’d already finished one the previous week, so you had one to go, but it was the last week of summer sessions before finals. So there were really only a couple of options for your department left.

Your job at the diner was by no means glamorous, and that showed right now with the way your hair was just slightly messy, tied up and out of your face to pair with the semi-professional clothing you’d changed into to attend this lecture.

It was going to be low-stakes, anyway. Summer session classes were much smaller, and this was the class of professor Levinson, one of the newer faculty members from what you garnered from the website. While it may have been a good idea to show face to your new superiors, you felt in no state to turn up at the lecture of the head of department that was currently going on right next door. Professor Rogers could officially meet you at your onboarding party at the end of the week like everyone else.

And boy were you glad to have come to Professor Levinson’s lecture. He was so beautiful, you couldn’t take your eyes off him. And way, way intelligent, too. All he was doing was a review session for the students, but you found yourself hanging on to every word. The way he applied concepts to the real, modern world was captivating, and could only be done by someone who understood their material so well. You’d been studying subject matter similar to this your entire life, but could never imagine doing it all as effortlessly as he did.

And gosh, when he wrote things out on the board, you had to clench your mouth closed, fighting the urge to salivate at the fluid way his large, and surprisingly beautiful hands moved. Better than any art piece he was lecturing on, that’s for sure. How could someone so big, muscular, and commanding, still hold so much grace?

As the lecture wrapped up, you were definitely ready to get out of there, lest you embarrass yourself in front of your new coworker by talking to him, as if your googly eyes at the way his hands wiped the chalk off of each other wasn’t enough to already do so. As you gathered yourself and placed your notebook back in your backpack, you were ready to dip out the back door, but then you heard your name called. Of course it was the gorgeous man down at the desk in the front of the room. You didn’t even have the energy right now to question how he might know who you were already, so you put a smile on your face and began to walk towards him instead.

“Professor! Wonderful lecture, thank you for letting me sit in.”

In all his passion for teaching the material, you hadn’t seen a smile as bright as the one in response to that complement. He held out his hand to shake yours and it was firm, full of warmth.

“It was my pleasure. And please, you don’t have to call me ‘professor.’ We’re colleagues! Steve is just fine.”

With that, your eyes went wide, and you tried your best to keep the easy smile on your face that the incredible man you’d been thirsting over for the last hour wasn’t just any old peer, but instead, your new head of department, Steve Rogers.

“Sorry I wasn’t able to make it to any of your interviews. But if you let me treat you to dinner, we can chat all about getting you settled!”

I did not let myself read this until I had the chance to respond, and I did that thing where the longer I didn't do something the more important it was, which meant I wasn't in the right headspace to respond, so I waited longer and and and

Warriors and Cinderella! I love that you all voted for me to pair them together! Not only are they both ✨ fabulous ✨ but they both value hard work, know what it is like to rise up in the social ladder (from servant to princess/queen, from knight to captain), and both know the importance of courage and kindness!

I feel like Cinderella is also very proper, very composed, polite, and sweet, and I think Wars would really respect that, especially in contrast to Cia (*shudders*).

My favorite part of this one is definitely Cinderella's dress, I would loveeeee to have a dress just like it and it is very self-indulgent lol. I made Cinderella a princess/queen here, like she has already married her Prince Charming and lives with him in the palace.

Warriors, as a Captain, would likely be extremely respectful in her presence, though the other boys might cause a bit of trouble, which would likely cause poor Wars a bit of anxiety lol.

alastor sticks with the classics, especially due to his stubborn 1930s roots. he uses a lot of the pet names we hear him use in the show in addition to those in line with his time: sweetheart, dear, darling, sugar, precious, beloved. sometimes, when he’s feeling extra possessive, he’ll throw a my in front of it. i also, for some reason, see him using lamb chop as a term of endearment: you are sweet, docile, delicate like a lamb—so meek and soft and submissive; yet you are simultaneously the most delicious thing he’s ever tasted, the most intense craving he’s ever felt, the most ardent addiction he just can’t kick.

husk isn’t one to use pet names incredibly often, but he does have a few he favours, and he always gets so damn soft whenever he murmurs them out, eyes gone melty and lidded, endearment dripping from his lips like syrup—sunshine, honey, beautiful, lover.

lucifer loves anything overly cutesy and fluffy and sugary sweet. cupcake, honeybun, pumpkin, cutie pie, buttercup, cuddle bug; he has a whole arsenal of pet names that he rotates through regularly. you’re just so darn adorable that he can’t help but call you a collection of endearments, so delightfully darling that all he wants to do is gobble you up! and you are, by far, the sweetest thing he has ever been able to call his own, so equally sweet nicknames seem like a no-brainer—he just wants to refer to you in ways that are as cute and sweet as you are!

“Hey, Miguel.” You stroll into his laboratory, making yourself comfortable in a chair. You’re only here for a moment, on your way back home after a difficult mission.

He’d let you crash in his suite for a night, given how utterly exhausted you’d been. And given you a change of clothes after your spider-suit had been destroyed.

He was so nice. So perfect. It wasn’t any surprise you had a massive crush on him. There was no way it’d be reciprocated though. You were sure of it.

Miguel glances up. For a heart-stopping moment, his gaze wanders over your body. Then he smirks. “You look cute wearing my clothes.”

Your brain does an emergency reboot, leaving you staring at Miguel in bafflement. “What?”

He chuckles, low and smooth, leaving his workstation to move towards you. Even in his lab coat, he looks huge.

He reaches out with a clawed hand, gently titling up your head. Brushing his fingers along your cheek and smoothing his thumb over your bottom lip!

“I said,” he murmurs, “You look cute wearing my clothes.”

You just stare up at him, heart racing in your chest. He was— He just— Your poor crush has no chance against him.

You duck your head a little, suddenly bashful under his gaze. “Maybe… you should let me wear them more often, then…?”

You’re flirting with Miguel O’Hara! Well, technically, you’re flirting back, but you’re flirting with Miguel O’Hara. Only the handsomest, strongest, most deadly spider in the whole Spider Society.

He chuckles again and leans a little closer. “I’ll let you wear them as often as you like.” His thumb rubs along your lower lip again. “But I want something in return.”

Your heart sinks for a moment. Of course he wants something in return. You nod slowly, still gazing up at him. At his mesmerizing brown eyes. And gorgeous lips. “What… do you want?”

He quirks a brow in amusement, gently tugging on your lower lip. It takes you a moment to get it and your eyes widen when you do. “Oh! Oh! Yes! I accept! Or agree! Or whatever—“

He cuts you off with a soft press of his lips to yours. You melt into the kiss, lost in the plush feeling. It’s sending tingles down your spine, your heart pounding in your ears.

He pulls back and you chase after him. Catching him in another kiss. You can’t help it. Who would, really?

He’s smirking when he finally does pull away. “Took you long enough, little Spider.”

Your cheeks heat, but you ignore the bait. Instead, half breathless, you murmur, “Talk less, kiss more.”

He’s more than happy to oblige.
