Cute historical look drawn by Nadeshico Rin, showing a yound lady nestled in a type of coat called shirushibanten (a livery coat then worn by craftsmen or merchant clerks).
This is the Edo era takes on "borrowed boyfriend sweater fashion" ;)
Then, haori and other type of coats were menswear only. Women slowy borrowed those more and more overtime until haori entered womenswear.

Harmonia Rosales @honeiee
"A small portion of a larger painting. This is Olokun, the god of the primordial waters. Angered that Obatala created the lands without her consent, Olokun sought to reclaim her dominion with a great flood. To stop the floods Obatala chains her to the bottom of the ocean…this is the very moment before she is imprisoned within her own kingdom. She stands as a symbol of the chaos that bubbles beneath our calm surface, a profound reminder of the lesser-known parts of ourselves we often retreat from."

- Welcome, archeological japonists to a new special, this time I come to celebrate that we are already 2726 followers, thank you very much for the support you give to this project that began in December 2021 and for this occasion I am going to bring you a publication of the history of the Japanese art, since you have asked me. In addition, it is the art that I like the most, and that of the rest of the Mediterranean, I do not like it at all. Having said that, let's begin. - The painting that you can see dates back to the 19th century and was made on grass paper. The author's name is Hiroshige. Utagawa, but his real name was Tokutaro, he studied western art and was one of the most prominent people when it comes to landscape art. Did you know this artist? Would you like me to talk about him? Leave it to me in the comments. - I hope you liked it and see you in future publications of archeology and Japanese history.

Japanese Hairstyles: Historical Overview Part 02: Women’s Hairstyles of the Edo Period, Part 02
Hairstyle Name: Katahazushi (片外し) lit. “Fallen Leaf”
This hairstyle is a type of kougai-mage and often features a shiitake (or mushroom) shaped tabo. To create this hairstyle, the hair on the lower back of the head is fixed into the form a disk using “bintsuke abura” wax. The remaining hair is combed into a loop. During the second half of the Edo period, this hairstyle was commonly worn by the subservient ladies serving in the households of high-ranking samurai. It was also the definitive hairstyle of a class of women in the Ooku known as O-Churo.
