I made a few changes to my creative space this morning, one of which being an improvised fix for this wonky table. It’s warped and curves in - not nearly flat enough to serve as a decent working surface - so I decided to clamp an old marker board to it (I used to use it as a surface for watercolor painting anyway, so it works out pretty well.) It’s much better than the tabletop, but a proper art desk is pretty high up on my general wishlist now that I realize I have a good place to put one.

So, since I'm way too impatient to wait for my drawing app to be pushed to my iPad, I made another thing on my phone. I got inspiration when I watched a video of @markiplier playing a game called Sacramento. The game was made by @dziff and has beautiful visuals and music by Glass Body. I highly recommend checking it out for yourself.

What I want vs. What I need

Sometimes dreams are what we need. Sometimes, they shouldn’t be focused on just yet. Maybe my healing is my priority, this moment rather than the moment ahead of me.

The Star popped out while I shuffled. Oh dreams and hopes, I am thinking of you. Ain't this the spread tho. I want to create new things, literally and figuratively motherhood. But the opposite seems to be what I need. To finish things. I have found this to be very important for mental health, for the dopamine effect to take place. Finishing something gives you a jolt and makes you want to do something else. I love starting new things but I need a new focus on the end of things, including the end of my novels too. Break it down into pieces, finish each step and don't look back.

Spread: Starting That New Project by @witch-viii-kraft

The project- Trying to grow a new writing habit with the help of a community and friends helping push me along. Maybe I should let them influence me more instead of insulating my failures.

Thoughts on project- I really do hope this new project will turn my whole world around and be the thing that changes my writing career into an ongoing habit that can’t be stopped. Bad luck will stop me but good luck might also be distracting. Fame or ill health both might both stop my writing. So what do I write for? I hope to grow my writing into something that can’t be stopped, only guided. 7. Keep in mind it is mainly for introspection. 8. Look for something to learn from but be wary of the lessons. 9. Outcome could be better if I make a total break from my past and make mistakes without care. The destruction could also be symbolized as ruthless editing and revision. 10&12. Help from a witch or writer who sometimes uses their gut, and sometimes uses the path from the success of other writers. Following a unique spiritual path, creating my own discipline and locks of behavior. 11&13. Avoid unfinished work and deep falls, people who want to chain me down. I really liked this spread. It was so large it was a bit intimidating but I really liked the question it dealt with. Laid out, it’s really pretty, symbolic diamond in the rough I’m trying to create. And once I went thru it, the card groupings were really easy to follow and broke down a huge spread into bite size pieces. Really answered some deep questions for me and gave me a great overall picture of the topic at hand.
