None of the Fire Emblem Fates parents are neither good nor smart for conceiving a child in the middle of a war but what's confusing to me is how better father's are treated like the worst and vice versa.

Take Niles and Arthur for example, they they regret having put their children through loneliness and their children hate them for it. Which is fair don't get me wrong.

But what is confusing is when you have actual bad parents like Ryoma ( in the Japanese script ) and Jakob physically abusing their children and yet neither children resent them the way Nina and Percy do. Infact they get treated as if they're good parents.

It's very strange.

Theÿ should make heirs of fate its own game. with more child units and more varied groups of children together. I wanna see shiro and forrest complain about their dads. I wanna see Soleil and Hisame argue about whether having friends and hobbies is a hindrance on the battlefield. I wanna see Siegbert struggle to deal with a particularly mean and sassy person. I need to see dwyer and mitama talk about chilling and resting. I wanna see Caeldori get offended by being compared to Selena's child's grandmother. I want midori to call someone a bitch.

A Proper Ending

This is a paired ending rewrite between Dwyer and Selkie from Fates! I took inspiration from the longer paired endings in Three Houses to add a little more into their lives after the ending! I hope you like it~

Selkie - Free Spirit & Dwyer Sleepy Butler

Without battle to hold Selkie's attention, she grew ever more restless and playful, often spending days at a time doing nothing but running and jumping in the woods, much to her husband's, Dwyer, dismay. They settled down in a forested area close to the castle as Dwyer continued to serve as a butler, but after a few years of being high in demand for his tea-extraction techniques, he retired with Selkie into the forest, never to be seen again. Once in a while, Kaden would find wherever Selkie's whims had taken them next, but the two lived a fulfilling life together, out of anyone's eyes.

while we're piling on Jakob during my first playthrough of Fates i specifically paired him up with someone i didn't care about just to get Dwyer because i love him and then as soon as i had him recruited i took Jakob out to a training map by himself with no weapons and had him killed, so now it's become tradition that every time i play through Fates he goes the way of Old Yeller immediately after giving birth
