GEAR INFO
Kinetic Absorbtion and Reutilization System (KAARS). Automatically absorbs kinetic energy with every impact recieved, whether it be from falls, enemy hits, etc. Energy can either be stored or released along suit pathways to enhance physical capabilities of the wearer, ie. increasing speed, strength, or lessening strain from taken damage. When system is maxed out, KAARS automatically glows. Brightness can be calibrated using the BC3s’ HUD AI system.
Bodysuit: Kevlar poly nano-weave with DNA-nullifying nanotech. Engineered to be slice and stab proof, bulletproof, heat and cold resistant, water-proof, corrosion resistant by way of slow auto-repairing properties.
External armor plating: versatile, ultra strong metal alloy (lightweight, flexible like rubber, strength and resilience of tungsten) micro weave Kevlar-hemp-linen poly blend.
Gloves: same material as the suit encoded biometrics (can’t be removed by anyone but wearer)
Boots: same metal alloy as the suit reinforcement combined with the same material as the Armor plating for maximum efficiency.
Mask: the same base material as external armor and is both physical protection and a filtration system, even functioning as a short term underwater rebreather. It works in conjunction with the BC3s, syncing to allow seamless communication if the wearer is working in a team. It also has mute functions, allowing no sound to escape so only team members synced to the communication loop can hear the wearer, and defaults to a voice distorter. This works by modulating the produced sound waves slightly, producing a warped distorted sound. The distortion effect will continue to work even if the mask is damanged, although there will be an increase in electric crackles along with the distortion. It is biometrically encoded and cannot be removed by anyone who hasn't been added to the base code.
Identity Concealing Technology
A bone conduction communication and audio system work in conjunction with facial recognition and identity concealing technology. (BC3s) They trick the eye and cameras by changing the way light refracts across the top half of the wearers face while not obscuring their field of vision. When active, it provides a heads up display (HUD) that only the user can see. The interface includes heat vision, night vision, and infrared modes. It also serves as a way to keep track of the connected suit's status, including the amount of stored kinetic energy.

FAMILY
Grew up blue collar. Childhood home was an older two story duplex, rented.
Single father (Peter Jones), alive and happily retired in a community, waiting for his wife to be released from prison.
Genuinely good person, loves his kids and his wife.
His Quirk is a physical mutation: literal shark teeth.
Mom (Sara Jones neé Davies) was arrested for villainous activity (as Gaslight, the Charismatic Villain) when Blake was 8. She remains in prison to current day.
Her Quirk is an Emitter type of Reality & Perception Manipulation. Basically, any word or phrase spoken can be used to manipulate another person's reality, memory, or perception. A literal manifestation of the manipulation technique known as "gaslighting."
Mom loves her family more than anything, which is why she turned to crime to help support them.
She taught all her kids illegal things before she was arrested and her grey morals influenced Blake strongly later in life.
3 Siblings!
Gabriel Jones, older brother. Works as a Wall Street trader. Alive and well, they get along okay but have massively different political opinions.
Quirk is an Emitter type: minor reality alteration, "probability modification".
Charlotte Jones, older sister. Private school teacher. Alive and healthy, they get along very well, especially so when Blake chooses to join the Aldera mentorship program.
Quirk is a mutation: sharp teeth like dad, but not multiple rows or frequent tooth loss/growth. Will rapidly regrow lost teeth, though.
Charlie Jones, younger twin brother. Academic. Alive, doing okay. On disability due to injury that left him paraplegic. He has similar intellect but his skews less towards hard science and more towards philosophy and psychology. Currently finishing his Psy.D he had put on hold due to his injury and subsequent recovery.
Quirk is an Emitter type with minor mutations: Reality manipulation, "speak into existence", manifesting. Also has sharper than average teeth like older sister, but it is secondary.
OTHER FAMILY
Grew up with a present extended family; maternal uncle was close to Blake. Former vigilante, retired.
Quirk is minor thought manipulation, Inception-like.
EARLY LIFE
Blake had a few close friends and a fairly normal childhood. Their Quirkless status inhibited their number of friends to some extent. Despite being diagnosed Quirkless, they also have fairly sharp teeth like their dad, sister, and twin. It's minor enough that it can only be called a genetic trait rather than a mutation quirk.
Their high intellect was noticed from a young age, as well as their twin's, and only increased as time went on.
Participated in gymnastics during elementary school years.
Bullied in middle school, lost most of their friends. Stopped caring about other's perceptions, outwardly cultivated their now-signature fox-like grin and cheery expression as default.
Got into engineering and computers.
Slowly stopped doing gymnastics and switched to running and martial arts.
Forcibly maintained a cheery disposition, despite cultivating some seriously grey morals and a big sadistic streak. Questioned if they were sociopathic. Twin brother yelled at them for it. Never questioned it again.
Public school career, joined track and field team. Distance runner, pole vaulter.
Senior year, got into tons of colleges, all with full ride scholarships. Some athletic scholarships as well.
Began vigilante work in late High School. They were bored and not challenged enough intellectually, so they turned to vigilantism to pass the time, to play around with their own perception of justice. They discovered they were quite good at it.
LATER LIFE
In college, they began building support gear and doing subsequent research into computer science with a focus on hacking.
Transitioned from distance running and pole vaulting to parkour. Restarted martial arts.
Finished undergrad summa cum laude and immediately started grad school.
Continued vigilantism, started getting recognized by the local heroes. Decided to turn their natural lucky streak into the basis of a career but understood that improving their skills was and is essential.
Mastered four different martial arts and multiple melee weapons.
Mastered hacking.
Started learning marksmanship.
Improved current support gear, focused on kinetics and AI tech.
Completed Masters, moved to doctorate.
At this point, their career as a vigilante is fairly well known amongst the local underground heroes as someone who isn't afraid to eschew morals when necessary.
Continued improving their support gear.
Became part of a small underground hero group (The Advantage Hero: Oracle [although she was often pulled away to more critical cases due to her quirk, they never actually met in person], The Enduring Hero: Adamant, a former limelight hero, The Electrifying Hero: Voltaic, who is mostly limelight, and Contractor, an underground support hero) and began getting asked to join larger scale operations by the USHC [United States Hero Commission].
Finished Doctorate, primed by the USHC to go legal but also received an offer from I-Island to pursue a second doctorate as well as a massive research grant.
Torn for several months between both options, ultimately chose to get the second doctorate.
Vigilantism is put on hold, but their physical conditioning continues. Always intended to pick it back up after completing their time on I-Island.
Finishes doctorate on I-Island, receives extremely generous job offer from HAI Japan branch. Accepts.
Moves to Japan, manages to learn the language.
After a year, is promoted to lead engineer and secondary innovator of HAI's R&D department.
Continues working for HAI for 3 years, continues improving their own fitness, capabilities, and support gear despite not being active in Japan.
Decides to join the Mentorship program, ultimately meets Midoriya Izuku.
When I had originally morphed this character into a BNHA universe one, it was with the intent of using them in a piece of fanfiction that will probably never see the light of day, hence their story ends where Izuku's begins.

Distinctive AC of c4-621, more commonly known as "Raven", as spotted across Rubicon 3 during the war for Rubicon. Identified as "DAMOCLES", the AC was notorious for sporting multiple advanced Coral-based systems derived from the Institute and similar sources by the end of the conflict; many speculated the advanced technology contributed to the enhanced awareness, reaction speed and general overwhelming presence of "Raven" on the battlefield. In terms of construction, the AC was an amalgam of a wide variety of parts. While its loadout varied by operational requirements, the most commonly sighted configuration sported paired energy rifles and paired duplex plasma launchers; this armament, coupled with Raven's aggressive and persistent fighting style, often lead to whole squads of MTs being overwhelmed before they even realized they were under fire.

ALCO built the bodies of the steam engines while Lima implemented the highly advanced steam engine technology. Also, New York Central streamlined 10 of their Ohios with the same streamlined shrouding as the Dreyfuss Hudsons, and these newly streamlined 4-8-6 Ohios were put in service on the 20th Century Limited and these streamlined Ohios proved to be worthy competitors to the Pennsylvania Railroad’s 4-4-4-4 T1 duplex locomotives, which pulled the Broadway Limited.

400G DR4 QSFP-DD
400G DR4 QSFP-DD optical transceiver module achieves the transmission over single-mode fiber (SMF) with an MPO-12 connector. It supports a max transmission distance of 500m on SMF.
400G FR4 QSFP-DD
400G FR4 QSFP-DD optical transceiver module supports link lengths of up to 2km SMF with a duplex LC connector. It uses wavelength division multiplexing(CWDM ) technology, eight channels of 53Gbps PAM4 signals on the electrical side, and four channels of 106Gbps PAM4 signals on the optical side, which is twice the rate of the electrical side.

Axe and Magic
The Axe
It was a melancholic start to the year. It rained incessantly outside and the mood was grey. Then came the axe in the form of layoffs at "BigTech" firms with Google doing it's first major layoff ever. I was emotionally at-sea for 2 weeks as I reeled from the new of the Microsoft layoffs. As a 31 year old with sufficient financial savings and no kids or debts/loans hovering over me, I would be fine. But I'm also an immigrant who existence depends on having a job here and who had spent a lot of effort/time moving things around to get here. It would be annoying to put it mildly. I'm just happy that I coped by watching TV and reading books; and didn't take up my usual route of getting drunk/stoned/spaced out.
It is a tough time and I directly know multiple people who have been affected. One silver lining was the report that most tech workers are landing a job within 3 months. So this is more of a displacement that a destruction of tech jobs. They're moving away from more speculative areas to places of clearer ROI/need.
Layoffs also brought attention to economic iniquities with the tech industry itself with CEOs getting multi-million-dollar pay packets and no direct consequences while other bear the consequences of their decisions. People frame this as merely a moral problem, but it's a public policy one. France and Germany make it hard to layoff workers which means the wanton hiring that's triggering this is less likely to happen in the first. Of course, there is always the American claim that this makes industries "less dynamic". Ah, hiring and firing are but key sources of dynamism in an organisation not the quality of its talent, it's psychological safety or the ability of its workers to focus on their work.
It definitely felt horrible to realise that the big tech layoffs were largely financially motivated and felt opportunistic. Even accounting for economic contractions, the companies still earn billions in profit and pay dividends to shareholders. They face no chances of bankruptcy and could take a hit in profitability for a few years till they reallocate their human capital. AN OVERVIEW ON MEDICAL AIR PACKAGES
A patient in the hospital who needs assistance breathing, either during surgery or through a ventilator, is administered medical air. Medical Air is defined in National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Code 99 2018 in 5.1.3.6.1 to have the following characteristics:
It shall be supplied from cylinders, bulk containers, or medical air compressor sources, or it shall be reconstituted from oxygen USP and oil-free, dry nitrogen NF. It shall meet the requirements of medical air USP. It shall have no detectable liquid hydrocarbons. It shall have less than 25 parts per million (ppm) gaseous hydrocarbons. It shall have equal to or less than one milligram per cubic meter (mg/m3) of permanent particulates sized one micron or larger in the air at normal atmospheric pressure. The air is delivered through a distribution piping system that ends with a medical air outlet within the room. Outlet requirements per room are governed by American Institute of Architects (AIA) Guidelines for Design and Construction of Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities.
Equipment is plugged into the medical air outlet to treat the patient. Many studies have been done determining the load required for medical air compressors. The sizing can be calculated using several methods. The U.S. Typical Method is the standard calculation for medical air in the United States. To calculate by this method the following steps are taken:
Count all outlets that will be served by this system by occupancy. Multiply by simultaneous use factor. Add the sum of all occupancy. Add the number of ventilators. This sizing process attempts to size by “worst case scenario,” which means all rooms would be occupied and using some amount medical air. Ventilators being the largest consumer of medical air especially adds to the total. It is highly unlikely all outlets would be used at one time in a facility; however, the facility has to be prepared and equipped for that scenario. This leaves many facilities frustrated with what they consider grossly oversized medical air compressors.
Medical Air Central Supply Systems NFPA 99 5.1.3.6 details the requirements and the limitations of medical air central supply systems and their installation within a healthcare facility in the United States. The defining requirement 5.1.3.6.2 Uses of Medical Air states that medical air sources shall be connected to the medical air distribution system only and shall only be used for human respiration and calibration of medical devices for respiratory equipment.
Medical air cannot be used in central sterile, to run instruments, or any other use outside of patient respiration. Therefore, multiple air compressors are used within a healthcare facility, but this article will only focus on Medical Air Central Supply Systems.
Oil free air compressors are used to eliminate the potential for hydrocarbons. The most common technologies are scroll, reciprocating, and rotary screw air compressors. In addition to the air compressor, the package normally contains aftercoolers, dryers, filters, receiver and monitoring equipment, such as a dewpoint monitor and CO monitor.
Lab Air Compressor Redundancy Requirement: An Important Sizing Factor No one point of failure is allowed to ensure patient safety. NFPA 5.1.3.6.3.9 (B) states that medical air compressors shall be sufficient to serve the peak calculated demand with the largest single air compressor out of service. In no case shall there be fewer than two air compressors.
This means redundancy is required and one air compressor is never allowed. The smallest would be a duplex package. The redundancy also applies to filtration and dryers as well. When sizing an air compressor, it is important to size with the load being maintained even with one unit out of service. Therefore, in a triplex skid, two air compressors can run with one as backup. A quad package can run three and so on. The air compressors will still all run in sequence to maintain even run life on all the air compressors.
An efficient way to meet the peak calculated demand and satisfy the redundancy requirement is with multiplexing smaller horsepower (hp) units. In the past, large industrial air compressors were installed, with large being 30- or 50-hp in medical air applications. This means if one Operating Room is put into use, or one ventilator is brought on-line, a 30-hp air compressor would be started up to meet the demand. This air compressor would run two to three minutes, meet demand, and shut off. This cycle is repeated throughout the life of the unit.
By multiplexing smaller hp air compressors, such as 10- or 15 -hp machines, a facility can reduce their electrical consumption. When a demand is created only one air compressor runs. If that one air compressor cannot meet the demand, then another air compressor can come on and so forth (with one staying off for redundancy). Therefore, the facility is running one 15-hp air compressor versus a 30-hp machine. In the majority of applications, only one air compressor handles the load.
Multiplexing also allows for expandability. Healthcare construction projects are often open-ended leaving flexibility in the services that the hospital is going to provide. Also, due to budget constraints, sometimes space is left shelled for future expansion. Instead of guessing at the future or sizing for future, it is possible to put expandable panels and leave space on skids for future modules. This keeps capital costs down, and the facility will have a clearer understanding of its medical air usage.
Finally, multiplexing multiple scroll air compressors takes dramatically less space, saves considerable money on installations and has lower capital costs than Variable Speed Drive (VSD) rotary screw air compressors. In new construction, this will save the contractor any additional piping and electrical wiring for components. There would be a braze for the inlet/outlet and one wiring connection. For replacement equipment, the skids can be broken apart to fit through a 30-inch door and have unions for the connections when put in place.
The Ins and Outs of Desiccant Dryer Technology Dryers are an integral part of the medical air compressor package and can have an impact on the sizing and efficiency. To maintain the requirement of a maximum dewpoint of 32 °F at 50 to 55 psi at any level of demand, and allow for flexibility in skid design, desiccant dryers have become the standard for medical air packages. They perform well in low-flow conditions that are common with medical air demand.
Desiccant dryers utilize towers that contain cartridges of activated alumina. The cartridge design versus loose desiccant eliminates dusting from desiccant and is sized based on demand. Therefore, the amount of air purged will be dramatically reduced requiring less demand from the air compressor. Desiccant dryers require a purge to regenerate the desiccant to continue the ability to dry the air. It is imperative for efficiency with medical air to utilize controls for demand-based purging. The dewpoint is monitored through the dewpoint sensor. In demand-based purging, the purge does not take place until the dewpoint reaches 14 °F. This almost eliminates the air compressor running for purge outside of demand. Another benefit is the dryer can be mounted horizontally or vertically to achieve smaller footprints of the overall package.
Meeting the Needs of Smaller Healthcare Facilities During the last 15 years, smaller healthcare facilities have been built to offer less acute services. These facilities are either located on the campus of larger hospitals or found as standalone buildings.
Medical Air dryers For these applications the sizing of the medical air is the same, however, the loads are much smaller. High-pressure manifolds utilizing medical air cylinders are allowed by code to deliver medical air. This requires the owner to make a financial decision of either a larger capital cost of an air compressor or the ongoing operational cost of purchasing medical gas cylinders.
If the owner decides to install a medical air compressor, the space allotted for medical air compressors is usually quite small. The location is also much closer to patients than in a large hospital setting. This led to the scroll type air compressors being used for medical air. Scroll units are much quieter and smaller than either of the reciprocating or screw type. By utilizing vertical tank configurations and appropriately sized desiccant dryers the skids can be as small as three by four feet.
Involve Medical Gas Specialists in the Process It is imperative in a replacement scenario that a facility meet with a medical gas specialist to have a medical gas survey completed. This will confirm the sizing done initially for the facility was accurate and will address any changes in acuity or services since the original air compressor was installed. The medical gas specialist will confirm the outlet counts, interview respiratory therapist, and determine if there are any code issues that will need to be addressed with a replacement. Specifically, that the inlet is code compliant and the master alarm panels have the appropriate points. Oftentimes this is missed and can affect the new air compressor being certified.
