Sometimes you wonder why the cute boy, who you sometimes catch watching you stretch before practice, never tries to talk to you. It’s not that you’re assuming anything. It just happens that he looks your way a lot. And yes, you do notice it. Maybe he thinks he’s subtle but he really isn’t.

You haven’t been in the dance club for very long. While you’ve been trying different styles since you were little, your first year of university was a whirlwind, living away for the first time, getting used to classes, going to MTs and festivals, joining the organisations that your sunbaes recommended. It left you little time, if any, to look for a studio where you could practise your beloved hobby.

Luckily, one of your sunbaes introduced you to the dance club, open to all majors and exactly the thing you were looking for. 

“Okay everyone, from the top.”

You’ve been grouped up with Seo Won, Kim Dayeon, Cha Woongki and Seo Youngeun for a cover of (G)I-DLE’s Tomboy, one of the performances that regularly made up the repertoire for the club’s end of the semester showcase. The last time this song was performed had been legendary, led by now graduate students Shen Xiaoting, Zhang Hao and senior Sung Hanbin when they were in their first and second years. So yes, you had very large shoes to fill.

From the other side of the room, Seunghwan is definitely not watching the way you move your hips. Someone smacks the back of his head. He spins around only to see Chen Jianyu walking casually to his spot, the graduate student shrugging in response.

“I know you like them but can we do less staring at their ass and more practising please hyung.”

“I’m not staring at their ass.”

Seunghwan hisses at Lee Jeonghyeon who just looks back at him, unimpressed.

“Sure hyung.”

Mun Junghyun chimes in because Seunghwan gets zero respect from any of his dongsaengs these days. As if on cue, Junhyeon decides to chime in at that very moment.

“So should we do it like this? Or…” He demonstrates a bit of choreography before realising what kind of conversation he walked into.

“Oh was Seunghwan-hyung staring at- mmmph.” Seunghwan hurriedly shoves a hand over the other’s mouth because Junhyeon has no sense of volume control about 80% of the time, now being one of those times.

“Junhyeon-ah.”

“Mhmmph?”

“Do me a favour and please shut up.”

“Hmmmhmph.”

With that, Seunghwan finally lets go because Junhyeon can’t speak in muffled gibberish forever and also they actually needed to practise. Junhyeon stares at him but doesn’t say anything. It’s finally quiet. Actually, it’s a little too quiet. 

Seunghwan realises that the music from your group’s speaker cut out and he’s confronted by the magnificently judgemental stare of Cha Woongki while he calmly sips his water. Seo Won looks a little too entertained and the girls give him knowing looks. Luckily for him, you’re busy monitoring your practice on someone’s phone.

“That was great, hyung.” Junghyun decides to say because of course he does.

“Very subtle.” Jeonghyeon adds. Seunghwan swears they’re the devils.

“Is he confessing now or are we starting practice?” Jianyu asks because even the eldest won’t give Seunghwan a break.

“The new choreo please, Junhyeon-ah.” 

Seunghwan is tired.

“And for the record, you know Lee Seunghwan was totally staring at your ass earlier.”

“Oh, is that his name?”

Woongki takes your face in his hands and proceeds to squish your cheeks.

“Oh my poor clueless baby.”

“We’re the same age?” You’re vaguely alarmed and a little confused, eyes flying to Seo Won, your lovely sunbae just shaking his head.

“He’s definitely into you.” Dayeon pipes up.

“He’s never even talked to me though?”

“Seunghwan-sunbae’s just shy.” Youngeun justifies.

“Well I think he’s being a pussy.” Woongki declares, all of you gasp, including the ahjumma who’s about to take your orders. Dayeon offers her an apologetic look and asks for extra rice for the stew you ordered.

“Don’t call him names when we aren’t even sure if he likes me.”

“Oh he definitely likes you babe, he just needs to grow some balls and confess, Won-hyung and I have money on him cracking by the interim check.”

“Sunbae!” Seo Won’s unfazed, calmly thanking the ahjumma who’s brought steaming bowls of kimchi jjigae and rice to the table.

“I bet on the pre-final performance.” Dayeon says, grabbing some rice.

“Oh same.” 

“I- wait how many people bet on this??”

“I dunno, like the whole dance club?”

“Eh???”

Seunghwan can’t believe he’s doing this.

“I can’t believe he’s finally doing it.”

“He is?”

“Yep.” Three voices say at the exact same time. Seunghwan throws a dirty look at his traitorous group members. Seriously, he needs better friends.

Junhyeon pats him on the shoulder ceremoniously, looking way too solemn for this.

“You can do it, hyung, I believe in you.”

The younger boys sounds so sincere that Seunghwan’s almost touched.

“Don’t fuck it up, hyung.”

Nevermind. 

It’s the interim check. Nothing too serious. Just the whole club getting together to check everyone else’s performances out and give tips. Definitely. And because Junhyeon loudly volunteers them to go first, they’re going first. Fuck.

Here’s something Seunghwan learned from letting Junhyeon lead their choreography. He’s actually pretty fucking good. They’re in sync, all their moves are sharp and on beat and he even gives everyone a small part in the centre where they can show off their strengths. Then, they get to the freestyle part.

So here’s another thing Seunghwan learned from letting Junhyeon lead their choreography. He’s also pretty fucking good at incorporating the stupidest ideas and getting everyone to agree to them. Case in point, what Seunghwan is about to do now as he puts on the stupid meme shades that Junhyeon had convinced the whole group to wear.

He’s front and centre, grooving to the beat and looking at where you’re sitting near the front with the other dancers covering Tomboy. Seunghwan takes a deep breath and with his whole chest, yells out your name and then says:

“GO OUT WITH ME!!”

The whole club goes wild, hooting and then cheering when you stare at him with wide eyes before nodding. Seunghwan swears his cheek muscles are going to collapse from how hard he’s smiling. They wrap up the dance without a hitch and immediately his members are descending upon him, yelling their congratulations.

On your part, well you get a grand total of thirty seconds to comprehend what just happened before Woongki announces your group is going next and bodily dragging you with him. You suddenly remember what you had agreed to do for the interim check.

“I mean he confessed already so-”

“You’re doing it, babe.” Woongki cuts in, leaving no room for protests.

Seunghwan thought he wasn’t prepared to confess today. What he really wasn’t prepared for was you sauntering over to him during your freestyle section (the infamous la la part), hips swaying as you proceed to drop it low while everyone freaks out, him included.

After that, Seunghwan can no longer say that he wasn’t staring at your ass. Woongki and Seo Won make a shit ton of money from the betting pool that had been going. And you? Well the cute boy, who you sometimes catch watching you stretch before practice, did more than just talk to you. And that’s the story of how Lee Seunghwan eventually became your boyfriend.

Everyone, whether they're in the financial world or not, knows the name "Shen Tunan". He's a business tycoon and the richest man in the world, who also happens to be the CEO of billionaire companies.

He's so rich that people say he practically bathes in money.

The name "Wei Ruolai", though, may not be that famous -- but all the people who have and who want to do business with Shen Tunan have etched that name into their brains.

Wei Ruolai. Shen Tunan's assistant, aide, and confidant.

Shen Tunan trusts Wei Ruolai with every fibre of his being, taking his assistant with him to all meetings, be it important, million-dollar deals or a expensive galas.

But that wasn't all. Shen Tunan didn't just trust his assistant, no. He was also incredibly protective of him. All the upper echelons of society, the rich and the powerful, and the important stakeholders in the financial world had heard of The Incident.

It had happened about three years ago and involved Kang Shaojie, one of Shen Tunan's biggest rivals. Kang Shaojie wasn't as rich as Shen Tunan, but he had been in the business far longer and was even involved with the mafia, smuggling drugs and trafficking sex slaves. It was almost common knowledge that Kang Shaojie's methods weren't clean, and those who crossed his paths would face the wrath of Kang Shaojie's mafia friends.

Shen Tunan's latest moves had caused waves in the economic industry, and suffice to say, Kang Shaojie didn't like it one bit, so he wanted to teach him a "small lesson". This lesson involved kidnapping Shen Tunan's assistant, Wei Ruolai, who was new at the time, and beating him to make him spill the company's secrets.

When this incident happened, many people thought it wasn't a big deal. Who was Wei Ruolai? He was just a small assistant, Shen Tunan was the wealthiest man alive and he could have anyone he wanted as his assistant.

His friends and business partners told him to stay away from this matter. Kang Shaojie wouldn't really kill Wei Ruolai, right? He'd probably just beat him within an inch of his life... Later on Shen Tunan could just give compensation to his assistant and not pursue the matter any further.

Everyone thought that Shen Tunan would do just that. Even Kang Shaojie thought so.

And my, my... They were wrong. So, so wrong.

Shen Tunan had been furious. He used every means, every connection he had, every string he could pull, to find Wei Ruolai and bring him back safely. It took him two weeks to find Wei Ruolai, and by that time the poor boy had wounds and bruises scattered all over him.

According to rumors, the moment Shen Tunan saw his assistant's bloodied, unconscious figure, he had sworn revenge against Mr. Kang, promising him a fate worse than death.

Shen Tunan's hired bodyguards, working together with the local policemen, retaliated against Mr. Kang and the gang that supported him. It took them about half a year before Shen Tunan's victory: he had Mr. Kang and all his cronies sent to prison for life (and if Mr. Kang 'accidentally' broke his legs while in prison, well... it definitely had nothing to do with him...).

From that time on, everyone knew that Wei Ruolai wasn't "just" an assistant. He was someone special to Shen Tunan.

Wei Ruolai was the reverse scale of Shen Tunan The Dragon -- anyone who dared to touch or offend him would suffer, and Shen Tunan would make sure of that.

After The Incident, Shen Tunan became more obvious, bringing Wei Ruolai with him everywhere he went. Whenever someone saw Shen Tunan, they would see another person attached to his side, always there, always smiling and always looking at Shen Tunan with utter adoration: Wei Ruolai.

Shen Xiang wasn’t sure how to feel about being in his fifteen-year-old body. Sure, it wasn’t much different, but it would throw him off, due to the slight height and weight difference.

He’d get used to it though.

Probably.

At least he still had his trusty Nyoi-Kinko staff. Shen’s favorite outfit, however, was unfortunately a few sizes too big. He’d bought a pair of cargos and a button-up shirt in the meantime, until he could find a place to stay and figure out life in this new- dimension? World? Reality?- Who knows. 

Currently the young martial-artist was standing on a fence atop a building, overlooking the busy night streets of Roppongi. His old outfit tucked neatly away in a shoulder bag, and his staff was in his hands, clasped behind his back.

Then, a black-clad man landed on the fence next to him, his gray scarf coiling loosely around his neck. “Lovely night, isn’t it?” Shen asked, keeping his eyes on the horizon.

The man tilted his head towards him, his eyes blocked by a pair of yellow goggles. “I’ll cut straight to the chase kid.” He said. Straightforward and blunt, Shen could appreciate that. “What are you doing up here? Especially at this time?”

Shen glanced over at his mysterious companion, leaving his left eye closed. It was a habit at this point, really. The man looked tense, despite his slouched posture.

Shen gave a small chuckle. “If you think I’m about to kill myself, you’d be sorely mistaken.” The bluette reassured. “I just have nowhere to go, so I’ve been wandering.”

“You’re homeless, kid? Do you need help?” Shen laughed. Such sincerity! He liked this guy a lot!

“I don’t want to waste your time, sir. I’m sure there’s people who need your help more than I do. I’m perfectly capable of defending myself!” Shen grinned, putting his free hand on the back of his neck. “Plus, I haven't been homeless for very long. I still have a good chunk of cash to figure out life with.”

“I’m not gonna risk it. C’mon kid, let's go. I’m takin’ you to the PD and we’ll sort things out there.”

Shen’s grin widened slightly as he gave a casual two-fingered salute. “Sir yes sir!” The man sighed, jumping off the rail and onto the roof. Shen followed suit with a flourish, the duo making their way down the fire escape.

Shen relaxed his eyes as they traversed the sidewalk, taking in the scenery from street-level. Though, not long into their walk, someone made a grab for Shen. Now, that someone's arm was around his throat and Shen’s wrist was caught in a firm grip. Thankfully, his staff was still in hand. The weapon jabbed his attacker in the stomach, forcing a choked noise out of his lungs.

By the time Shen’s companion had turned, the assailant had already been firmly beaten down and restrained, currently pinned between Shen’s voluptuous thighs. The Nyoi-Kinko was now about the length of his forearm, pressing against the back of the bad-actors neck.

“Kid!- That was quick.” The alarm quickly faded into ‘I’ve-done-this-a-million-times-before’, pulling some industrial-grade zip ties to secure the strangers wrists and ankles. “You’ve been training to be a hero?” The man asked as Shen got off the lowlife.

Now, Shen had only heard bits and pieces of heroes during his short time here, so he had to choose his words relatively carefully. “Not necessarily.” The boy said as the revenette pulled out his phone, poking it a few times. “I just don’t want to have to rely on a hero to be safe, is all.”

The man gave him an approving look. “I see.” He put the phone to his cheek, speaking again. “This is Eraserhead, I have a subdued criminal at XXXX, XX, ****. I also need a ride to the department for myself and a kid… uh huh… No, he’s fine.” Eraserhead glanced at Shen, then at the crook. “Just don’t spook him. You’ll end up with a nasty bruise… Yeah, let me know when he’s available. We got time… Mhm, bye.” Eraserhead hung up, turning his attention back to Shen. “We’re getting a ride from the police, behave.”

Shen gave another cheeky grin, retracting his staff to capsule-form. “Of course, Eraserhead.”

The cruisers arrived promptly, two in total. One for the crook, and the other for Shan and Eraserhead. From there, it didn’t take long for them to reach the precinct, the duo entering a tidy, sparsely populated lobby.

“Eraserhead-san! Good to see you again.” The receptionist greeted. They resembled a jellyfish, with almost transparent looking blue eyes and jellyfish tentacles for hair. “Who’s the kid? I thought you only adopted stray cats.”

Eraserhead pinched the bridge of his nose. “Kuage-san, no.” The woman only laughed, before Shen spoke up.

“Hi!” Shen waved. “My name is Xiang, Shen. Eraserhead here found me about 30 minutes ago. I don’t have a place of residence, but it hasn’t been that long. You won’t have to worry about any health-related concerns. However, a round of vaccines is probably in order.” Kurage’s eyebrows shot up to her hairline, but the woman took the rapidfire info in stride, typing as he spoke.

“I was born and raised in China, and Chinese is my native and preferred language, but I’m also fluent in Japanese and conversationally fluent in English. No living relatives or legal guardians. As far as I’m aware, I don’t have an identity. Born on November 27th, fifteen years old.” Shen continued. Eraserhead remained silent as the keyboard click-clacked away, Kurage soon looking up.

“Well, that went quicker than usual. Thanks kid.” She said, “Can you tell me your quirk?”

“Untruth.” He replied.

“A’ight. Can you tell me how you got to Japan?”

Shen winced, remembering the knife previously twisting around in his gut, and putting his hand back on the nape of his neck. “I’d rather not…” He said with a sheepish grin.

Kurage-san gave an understanding smile. “That’s quite alright.” She turned to Eraserhead, “I’ll forward this to the detective. You two can go ahead and sit down. Coffee’s in the back.”

“Thank you ma’am!” Shen said with a smile, following the ravenette to one of the benches.

Shota was concerned, and a little suspicious. The kid had obviously gone through some shit, his gut churning anxiously whenever Xiang spoke. I felt too practiced, too… Artificial. Not to mention, his self-defense was nothing to scoff at. He’d taken down and restrained the villain from earlier all too easily, as if someone trying to kidnap him was a regular occurance.

Shota wanted to keep an eye on him. 

“Soooo, Eraserhead-san. Who is this ‘detective’?” The kid asked, his hands folded behind his back.

“A friend of mine. His name is Tsukauchi, and he has a lie detector quirk…” Shota trailed off, realizing something. Xiang seemed to notice, his smile becoming a little too sharp for the veterans' liking. It made his hackles rise. “‘Untruth’. What does your quirk do?”

“I’d like to keep my cards close to my chest, if it’s all the same to you, Eraserhead-san.” Xiang retorted, the two sitting down.

Aizawa supposed he could understand. If the kid was in the same situation that he thought he was, then keeping his quirk on the down-low was probably necessary for his well being. It’s hard to break survival habits, Shota should know. “Very well.” He said, nodding. “And the name’s Aizawa, by the way.”

Regardless of how he felt about the boy, Shota wanted him in 1-A. He’d had a few ‘street-rats’ in his classes (himself being one of them), and they always tended to be the ones with the most resourcefulness. Plus, Nezu had a penchant for taking strays into his school.

Also, society needed more heroes who were willing to get their hands a little dirty, to truly weed out the actual villains, not just shoplifters who needed to provide for their families, or pay for their daughters freAKING HEART SURGERY-

As you can see, Aizawa had some problems with the whole heroes-villians dynamic.

“Ah, Aizawa-san. What perfect timing.” The rat.

‘Perfect timing my ass.’ Aizawa thought as he saw his boss approach, suit and all.

“I see you’ve found us another student!” He exclaimed.

Xiang, understandably, looked wildly confused. “Um- excuse me. Student?” He asked. “I don’t even have any school records.”

“That’s what the placement tests are for, Mr. Xiang! You see, I am quite proud of being able to say that U. A. is an equal opportunity school. And that includes cases such as yourself! I’ve read Kurage-san’s report.”

Xiang took a moment to process, nodding. “Okay. Would I be a ward, then?”

“Yes, exactly!”

It was at that moment that Tsukauchi entered the lobby, beckoning the trio to his office. “Aizawa-san, Principal, Xiang-san.” He greeted. “Please, come in.” The trio did so, sitting across from the detective as he took his place on the other side of the desk. “First, to start this off, everything you said to Kurage-san was the truth. Correct?”

“Yes.” Shen replied. And with that, the interview started.

“I was born in Enshi, and moved around the Miao Autonomous Prefectures, including Qianxian, Qiannan, Qiandongnan, Enshi, Xiangxi, and Wenshan throughout my childhood.” Xiang elaborated, posture still perfect. “Then I came here.” 

Truth.

Tsukauchi noted that down, continuing. The boy had barely moved a muscle during the interview, his legs crossed and his hands folded over his knee. “And your quirk, ‘Untruth’. Can you give me its details?” Tsukauchi could tell the meeting was beginning to near its end, he was running out of questions.

“Before I start, I’d like to ask that they be kept confidential.” The boy requested. Tsukauchi noticed his hands clench, his jaw feathering slightly. “I’m sure you understand.” Oh, Tsukauchi understood alright. He understood perfectly well.

Quirk trafficking.

And based on Xiang's looks- Tsukauchi felt gross even thinking about it- he was probably used for other kinds of trafficking as well. He was keeping his composure extremely well, only having given the one tell of his hands. And Tsukauchi, being a detective with the quirk he had, was well-learned on various bodily and verbal cues. 

“Of course, everything said in this room is considered private information unless specified otherwise.” Tsukauchi said with a nod.

Xiang took a small breath, letting his eyes fall closed for a moment. “Untruth relies on my eyes. As long as someone is in my line of sight, then I can activate it. In simple terms, my quirk forces others to do the opposite of what their subconscious wants. For example, if someone wants to run away from me, then they’ll end up running towards me.”

Truth.

Oh. The picture Xiang was painting was not a pretty one. Given the context, the boy was more than likely used as a living capture-weapon of sorts. Nezu and Aizawa were sure to have drawn the same conclusion, based on the man’s expression and the way Nezu was holding his teacup- where the hell did he get a teacup? 

“And in order to activate my quirk, I have to be subconsciously fond of my target.” Nezu’s teacup shattered. Thankfully, there was no tea left. However, that was the least of Tsukauchis problems. 

“You had to establish rapport… With all of your targets?” He asked, his tone dark.

Shen nodded. “To a greater or lesser degree, yes.” He confirmed.

Tsukauchi felt sick. To make someone hurt a complete stranger was one thing. But to be forced to hurt someone you cared about? Even a little? That was twisted on a whole nother level.

As testament to Xiang’s composure, his tone betrayed nothing aside from cordial conversation. If Tsukauchi were interrogating a criminal, he would have a grudging respect and a heightened caution for the wrongdoer. As it stood now, however, only the detective's worry was rising.

Tsukauchi skimmed his notes a second time, deciding to move on from the subject. “Alright. Well, I can forward this to our Chinese liaison and see if we can get you an ID”

3 ships: I don’t really ship too much. Mostly because I glob on to that one bastard of a character or a minor character who dies or gets 0 screen time or all of the above and never let go. Atm that character is Shen Jiu from Scum Villain’s Self Saving System. So, I’ve been enjoying LiuJiu and QiJiu fics cause character studddddyyyyy and hurt comfort whump wooo. I have also enjoyed some good deep dive fics into QHT and SJ’s relationship so maybe that as a third. Though I really would want to read a Pipa Player x Shen Jiu fic. Again another minor character. Though hear me out; Crack Ship SHL and SJ!SQQ. Mostly because they are both bitchy af and they meet by having a bitch off when she invades, which reads as peak demon flirting. If the age gap wasn’t so weird it’d be more enjoyable. (though weird age gaps has never stopped the SVSSS fandom or the canon material before.) Svsss is such a weird story. So…. That’s 5 ships. Welp.

currently watching: The Demon Slayer Anime. It’s very campy and shonen but it’s fun. Favourite character after Rengoku is Inosuke. Angry characters amuse me greatly and homeboy is giving it his best. Go boar man goooo! And after him is Mitsuri. She is a Queen. I love her. She’s so soft. I want to give this woman a hug.

Okay so in this story, Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua get overheard as the duo go into their usual bickering and Shang Qinghua is like "My sON" and Shen Qingqiu scoffs, "What son - with the way that you treat him-"

Shang Qinghua cuts his shixiong off with the most scathing tone that the eavesdropper has ever heard from the An Ding peak lord, "Like the way that you give into his every wants. You are sPoiLiNG him, cucumber-brother."

And thus the eavesdropper has heard enough and immediately goes to work supplying the sect with its much needed tea.

Everyone's now trying to figure out who is Shang Qinghua's bastard son that Shen Qingqiu is apparently spoiling - and just what are the two's relationship?!

Yue Qingyuan is working into a frothing mess of panic, suspicious paranoia, and (hidden) jealousy. Luo Binghe is in an even bigger fit of jealousy, wondering who else is stealing his shizun's precious attention. Ning Yingying and her female friends are busy trying to churn out the latest edition of Shen Qingqiu X Shang Qinghua comics.

It's a busy time for the entire Cang Qiong sect.

my rewrite of tmnt 2012 is turning more into “my fan iteration within the story of 2012 which i change a bit to suit my self-indulgence” (which it pretty much was from the start but hey) so i’m just gonna write down some General Stuff abt it like arcs and stuff

Tang Shen is alive but did get sliced by Shredder like when she dies in canon, so she has scars and Shredder believes her to be dead. Tang Shen also believes that Yoshi went and disappeared on her when he went to buy those turtles so, you know, rough couple of years for her w/ regards to thinking her infant daughter is dead, moving away from japan w/ her husband, and then her husband mutates into a rat and doesn’t tell her abt it. now she works as a robotics engineer at Stockman labs and while she’s still depressed she’s getting better, she likes her work, and she’s working on a certain nanobot project which is going good

(Nano is in this version but they instead are in an arcade cabinet that the turtles then bring to the Lair so that Nano has a family and they get to play with the turtles often. Happy end for Nano!)

Raph is the one who first meets Shen and Shen starts signing the adoption papers for the turtles

Splinter is pretty much the same as in 2012 but like, he gets confronted abt his shit instead of just being Flawless Wise Mentor, mainly by Michelangelo and then Shen when she meets him again. think he’s still gonna die but only once instead of. what. three times?

the turtles have known April for about three years since they went to the surface in secret and met a curious human girl. April quickly decided she has four brothers now and they agreed whole-heartedly

April’s parents are both alive btw and very good parents, though since “the Kraang want to kidnap April” isn’t a thing here they are both unaware of her mutant friends

April isn’t trained as a kunoichi and instead relies on her telepathic powers, which would grow at the same rate as the turtles become better fighters. i have a whole list of her powers and their limits - for example, tinfoil hats do work to keep your head protected from telepathy, much to everyone’s surprise. a metal pot also works, or a metal helmet. Shredder is unknowingly immune to it with his helmet always being on...

the brain worms serve a slightly bigger role, but they are instead creatures from Dimension X, a weak, telepathic parasite that crawls into people’s brains and controls them to keep the worm safe while it feeds on the person. they are what Kraang Prime mutated himself with to create the Kraang hivemind. they are also called “mind maggots” in Dimension X, “brain worms” is just what Stockman and Donnie started calling them when first discovered. removing a brain worm from a person without using telepathic powers can result in the person’s death or severe brain damage

also the Kraang are a more literal hivemind. if one of them sees you, they all see you. the turtles have to use all their ninja stealth to deal with them, and it’s always a risk because the Kraang can easily overwhelm them with how many of them there are

Kraang Prime is probably gonna be offed at the end of the “season 1 finale”, probably by Leatherhead. he deserves it. offing Prime also frees the Kraang hivemind from his control and the Utrom have their autonomy back. either that, or they manage to release the hivemind from his control another way, and it leaves Prime like weak and useless somehow. maybe by plucking off those weird crystals on his head, i dunno, still thinking abt it

Leatherhead is a doctor for mutants, being a bit of a mix between his 2003 and 2012 self. he wants to help other mutants since he knows they’re victims of the Kraang too, however indirectly, and that they can’t exactly get medical help. mutants do have greater regenerative properties, but that’s only going to help you so far, and your bones might grow back wrong quicker. so, Leatherhead spent his years of freedom studying medicine and mutant biology, using stuff he stole from the Kraang during his first escape.

it would be a lot more focused on helping mutants in general. like, there would still be mutant villains that would be fought when needed, but Mikey and Donnie would put their feet down and try to offer the mutants help in settling into their new life. the turtles would also not be disgusted with mutants like they are in 2012 like jeez, dumbdotcomm really put it into words

anyways the Kraang would cease being a threat after “season 1″ and the truce Karai suggests between Foot and Hamato does happen. Splinter hates it and doesn’t trust it at all

Baxter Stockman has his own lab which is pretty successful, and he is an incredibly smart and eccentric guy with a bubbly personality - until you threaten him or talk down to him, at which point he shows himself to be calculating and ruthless, still with a smile on his face. he doesn’t pick up on sarcasm very well, though, and if you ask him to explain something, he will happily do so in great detail, whether you’re friend or foe. also, he doesn’t get mutated into a fly, and he doesn’t get turned into just a brain, either. he’s just a funky regular human guy

Timothy becomes The Badger in this version. he’s also treated better by the turtles, especially Mikey who takes it upon himself to train Timothy, partially bc Mikey wants to be a superhero but knows he can’t show his face. in fact, Timothy was inspired by Mikey specifically as he saw Mikey trying to be a costumed superhero at one point. when Timothy mutates, he becomes a human mutant like Hun and Ravenwood from IDW, so he can become like an actual superhero with powers

more female characters. like just in general more girls please. i beg of you.

Angel is Casey’s older sister who’s off at college as a STEM student, and she is also Nobody here bc i absolutely love that for her, IDW was galaxy brained when they did that. Alopex is her partner here too same as in IDW, and they jokingly call themselves “Batteries, the Double-A Crime Fighting Duo”. Angel is very much against Casey being a vigilante despite being one herself, but she’s an adult so it’s different, obviously

the turtles ask Alopex to be their teacher, too, especially since Raph notices that she fights using anger in a controlled way, and she is a bit surprised and slightly awkward about it but she accepts. Alopex is an arctic fox instead of a red fox here btw, though she has a summer coat most of the time and only gets white fur during winter.

April would also have an arc where she strives to understand her mutant side and powers better, so she would venture into Dimension X alone to find the Utrom, and learns about their society before and after Kraang. Rook and Queen (named Quin here bc Bishop isn’t a Utrom in this version, and Utrom don’t have a concept of queens and kings) would have bigger roles, as they would help April out with her powers and figuring out what being part Utrom/Kraang means for her identity.

Rook is also an alchemist/scientist who created mutagen in the first place, and Kraang was her assistant. this isn’t super important to April’s arc but i just thought it’d throw it out there

the brain worms/mind maggots would result in a City Fall arc i’ve decided. but it would be the only time mind control/brainwashing becomes a plot point in this series bc i think 2012 really overused that trope. like it was there with Splinter and the Rat King, with the parasite wasp mutant episode, and then again with the brain worms but like, several times over.

this also means that Karai doesn’t get the brain worms pumped into her brain. remember that scene where she’s hooked up to the machine and Shredder’s like “damn that shit sucks i’m sorry Hamato Yoshi’s doing this to you”?? that scene was pretty fucked up. anyways Karai has like. agency in her own arc this time

in the City Fall arc Splinter would die and at the end Karai kills Shredder, and Leo and Karai as new leaders of the clans would be like “alright this stupid fucking ancestral cycle of vengeance” ends here

Northampton time after that because it would be a Lot

after that i think it would be space arc time? it would start with the turtles being separated across dimensions and planets a bit like when SAINW happened, but without SAINW. like, Donnie would get to Neutrino (elves with crazy hair version), Leo would get to Usagi’s dimension, etc. etc.

also in case it wasn’t obvious Tang Shen will play a big role as the turtles’ Better parent and she’d have her own stuff to work through, like meeting her daughter she thought was dead and finding out her boss, Stockman, is evil, that her husband got turned into a rat, and that her new kids get into all kinds of dangerous trouble constantly
