I FEEL LIKE THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT MOMENT OF MY LIFE.

I work as a receptionist at the Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders where I live.

On Halloween, we’re having an office party, and I decided to dress up as Pam Beesly from The Office. We’re both receptionists, we both work with watercolor, and we wear almost the same styles to work.

I usually stay in my office to answer phones and emails, but my boss has given me a special task for the day of our Halloween party.

I get to stand outside the screening rooms and HAND OUT CANDY TO THE CHILDREN WHO COME IN FOR AUTISM SCREENINGS.

How cute is that?! I feel like this will be the sweetest moment of my entire life.

It’s also totally something Pam would do! I remember that episode where all the office workers took their kids to work and Pam put out extra candy on her desk to get the kids to come and talk to her, and I feel like I’m getting that full circle moment here.

I saw there are 13 versions of The Office. I guess 14 now with the Australian version and 2 more coming. Each one plays out the same as the British original

I started imagining an office remake where the people in the new documentary are aware of the American documentary at Dunder Mifflin. They make comments about it and talk about how weird having a camera crew at their company is. Then, someone gets sick. An in building nurse checks them out, it's thought to be stress related. It's pushed back as a background gag. First episode ends with someone doing the camera confessionals and people start rushing to the windows. A hazmat crew is outside. Credits roll.

Next episode, everyone is quarantined in the building. It's still a comedy, but there's a sense of panic. They have no idea how long they'll be in there. After a few days, they start trying to adjust, using activity ideas from the Dunder Mifflin documentary to keep themselves sane. Party committee, pranks, filming little shorts, eventually developing personalities that almost mirror people at Dunder Mifflin. As they start to lose their minds, they question who they are and who they were before the cameras showed up. Some wonder if the quarantine is real or if this is part of a filmed experiment. It's close to becoming Lord of the flies. Before a full blown revolt happens, we reach the first season's climax.

Everyone is again looking out the window. Not at the parking lot, but to the distance. A building is on fire. Smoke starts billowing from another. A loud speaker is telling people in the distance to stay inside. Credits roll.

Watching the office superfan episodes makes it like you're watching a whole new show and for someone who's seen this show over 40 fucking times in their silly little isolated life I appreciate that so deeply

The Office should NOT be rebooted. It had a great ending and ended where it needed. Bringing it back will only ruin it.

Well, this is one of the most touching moments in the serial... Michael just did the most incredible thing, seemingly without even realizing it. (As usual 🙃)

But I don't think she would have picked up the paints and brushes if he hadn't come and said what he said.

I understand her feelings very well, being a creative person. I'm lucky to have people like Michael in my life. People who look at my creativity (whether it's a text, a sketch, a piece of handmade jewellery or whatever...) and say, "Wow! You did that yourself? That's magic!" And it's not just words...

And yes, I wanted to hug him myself 🩷
