Taran and Cavin [Adventures Of The Gummi Bears] look so similar, I like to headcanon that they're cousins. Cavin is more laid-back but Taran has chaotic energy and tons of mischief. Taran and Cubbi Gummi would get along very well, and Duke Igthorn and the Orgres would stand no chance, especially if a HYPERACTIVE Taran drank Gummiberry Juice.

OMG! Regular Taran's a handful, so I can only imagine how hard it'd be to stop a Gummiberry-fueled one. XD Also, I can see that being the case that Taran and Cavin are cousins. :)

Hi!! How are you? It's been a while since I've sent you an ask (but I'm always lurking on your blog here, I love it too much to stay away!) but I just HAVE to ask if you're familiar with a character named Duke Igthorn? He's from an old Disney show from the 1980s about magical bears set in the medieval era. It's a pretty basic 80's fantasy adventure cartoon but the main villain Igthorn is SOOO so entertaining and basically THE antithesis of "goofy cartoon villain that is a threat but ultimately gets defeated in a silly goofy way". He's right up both of our ally's (and he strikes a remarkable resemblance to Captain Hook), so I thought I'd mention him to you, just to see if you maybe recognize him. Have a lovely day, cheers!

Sometimes it astounds me to remember

that Michael Eisner, riding high on the success of Who framed Roger Rabbit and the little mermaid (and possibly cocaine), went and licensed the gummi bears candy because his kid asked for it once, and some disney artist had to make... a WORLD around that, so they lifted designs from their failed feature The Black Cauldron, the tolkienist idea of the elves as a vanished superior race (made em into bears) and aired that on television for several years, but when they retconned chip and dale as clothes wearing pilots, THAT was a bridge too far for me.  I mean, what if Eisner’s kid had asked for Nerds?  Or Runts?
