Bruh I had a dream that Drifters Season 2 came out and that besides Saint Germain, Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid were the oldest Drifters since they seemed pretty well known with the Octoberists and whatnot, and we had solo episodes focusing on them and then I woke up crying because we’ll never get that because people like to adapt Hirano’s works before they’re fucking finished knowing that this man has a random ass update schedule *COUGH COUGH* Hellsing *COUGH COUGH*

I've been considering why I love the way Toyohisa is animated in Drifters. There's a certain visceral fluidity and power in terms of how he wields a blade. It's conveyed so well in this very stylised form of animation.

Then there's his character, the facets of which add up to make a very simple, but compelling protagonist. While there are many, many aspects of Drifters that are exceptionally indulgent, Toyohisa displays a hellish love for the battlefield that makes him entertaining.

It's tempting to call him 'feral', but it's not quite that. It's a purity of bloodlust, a single-mindedness in his approach to battle, a warrior's heart, that makes him both honorable and downright terrifying.

Look, in a nutshell, I could watch this man decapitate all day.

pov your favorite anime's season 2 is taking too long so you read the manga but now you're done reading the manga so you're waiting for the next manga update on top of waiting for season 2

They’re gonna do Drifters like they did Hellsing, they’re gonna realize it was a mistake to do the anime when the manga is barely established because the creator releases at snails pace and then in about six to ten years they’re gonna release “Drifters Ultimate” or some shit where it’s just 30 minute OVA’s. I mean technically they’re already doing it since they did release two Drifters OVA’s.
