congratulations on joining the murder club anon!!!! depending on who you ask the name refers to either people who have murdered or people who have witnessed murder. usually both. actually extremely often both. it's a swell time you'll feel right at home (don't mind our collective skyglass knife collection in the back)
#im still not far into nemesis personally but im very much enjoying it#honestly in a weird way it feels like it's moving faster than HD did. which. is funny bc nemesis is like The gated behind item grinds quest#idk. HD was a fun slowburn where we adventured around gathering our rogues gallery before the action kicked in#nemesis on the other hand feels like im picking up halfway through a batman serial#fallen london#ask#it's WAY more fucked up right off the bat than HD was. honestly ive thought abt red honey for ages. that's so fucked up#and we LEAD with that?? Okay#definitely a horrors-filled ambition befitting caeru (the guy who's constantly going through horrors)#it really encourages you to get fucked up and freaky and in ur character's headspace at basically every step along the way#i only have HD to compare it too but HD was like. a lot more interpretative in comparison? at least to me. that's what it felt like#and i adore HD for that dont get me wrong here#HD just also waited until like. halfway through before it asked what the scoundrel actually Wanted out of its heart's desire#nemesis in comparison is right off the bat who died? who are you mourning? anguish. justice. there must be vengeance.#it's a delightfully different vibe!! i like it!!!#oh god sorry anon im doing the classic yin talking way too much in the tags thing again#i havent had much excuse to talk abt nemesis and what i think of it so far and of course its rp effects on caeru#but i do have a handful of thoughts on it#it's good. im liking it so far. it's starting very strong if nothing else. and i have no spoiler knowledge of what happens in the future#beyond the choice between rewards at the very end#and im SO curious how we'll get to that point. what horrors will we adventure through next? off we go to find out!#it's biggest glaring weakness so far is how horrendously grindy it is. and like. ive been warned and done my research ahead of time#im doing it on the same account im seeking. i knew what i was getting into. but also gots damn.#in comparison HD's 5-card lodgings and dreamgate feel like footnotes#anyway while im already way too deep into rambling did you know the honey trip gives you fate?? insane. why does it do that. hilarious even

wait they nerfed knifegate???
#i was in the middle of doing the echo grind for that#i mean thank god because it made me hate what is otherwise a very cool ambition#they all have grinds but echo grinds always feel the worst#and that one was like how would you like to not play the game at all for months#the only other thing in ambitions that has been anywhere near as frustrating#is all the card draws you need for hearts desire#yeah yeah it's a card game i get it#but when that translates to waiting to draw a card for two weeks#and it's hard to do other stuff while you wait without ducking in and out of storylets constantly#it's just like.... why#dreamgate was kind of the ultimate culmination of that#light fingers and bag a legend did not ever make me want to put down the game and say nah#the writing for all of them is so good it's just some of the mechanics are aaaahhhhhh#fallen london#flmp#mp#i have enough echoes already with the nerf this feels weird

#oc: emery hyde#my ocs#hearts desire spoilers here in the tags so look away look away#this is not a place of honor no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here nothing valued is here#aaaaaaaaand here we go#emery is leigh's uh. memory of lesser self + reflection + discordance other (i liked the concept from the hurlers and hated the execution)#(and so i made my own. i am not accepting criticisms.)#so it's fitting that the character i originally intended to be hd would end up with his Other doing it#emery's all about growing to be his own person and growing to right his own wrongs#so i 100% see him going into this with the plan of ''i am going to get my desire of being my own person yes yes-''#and by the end. by the end he's already become his own person. and he choses to be his own person by ending it.#it would be the ultimate sign of growth#of course. as we all know#oc's tend to have minds of their own#so i can see a world where he's so CONSUMED by his need to prove his own worth and individuality that he would chose adoration#just a big ''you can't get rid of me now look at how important i am''#but it's in his hands#i just. it's always hard making that click.#also i don't want to do dreamgate again god please don't make me do that grind again...

been playing hk again
#my posts#gameblogging#liveblogging hollow knight#despite being in the middle of hades and also reading every fic under the sun#i just felt bored and wanted smth good and familiar#so im 7 hours into two room randos each#and now im grinding fluke essence on my radhog save file#because its really fun and i wanted to see just how fast it is#again#its so fucking fast#i guess part of it is bc i have dreamwielder on and ive used dreamgate a lot#which raises the chances from 1 in 200 to 1 in 40 according to the wiki#and it shows like holy fuck i just got 10 essence in 9 minutes and then 7 in 2 minutes???#but i genuinely like doing it like its so fun#im so sad its not viable for speedruns bc id love to watch someone doing it properly#ugh i love this game#i hope silksong is gonna have smth as satisfying as random essence drops
