Had this funny mental image of Arona holding a work meeting discussing her plans etc and all of a sudden she's interrupted by light snoring. The camera pans across and Cole's nodded off to sleep on one of the other agent's shoulders whilst Kincaid has to nudge him back awake. Geel rolls his eyes uninterested as he's picking at the weird questionable red colour only he seems to be able to see under his nails and climbing up his arm. Arona pauses a moment to give everyone the ^-^ look And Turo... just Turos.

Head empty, No thoughts only those about Gladinus and Festivus accepting Saft into their household and making her a part of their somewhat weird home because if they had left her where she was she'd never know what real familial love would ever feel like ever again.

Since I already asked Ro, I shall ask you too! Any headcanon thoughts about your Dragonsbayne character's musical notifs? Like do they have a specific instrument or something like that? Or even certain styles of music maybe?

Corvidan

He doesn't sing, doesn't play, and doesn't really have an ear for music. But his meta motif is probably clarinet - in particular in motifs that sound moody but curious. Like in this Eterna Forest arrangement. with some bonus izzard for corv's early days trying to learn this and failing

If he was forced to play music now, he'd be on the triangle. And with some practice, he'd do an okay job! He just really wants to be supportive.

Cole

Metal electric guitar. (this is also a really good song for him). He likes high-tempo music with energy that doesn't leave you any room to breathe.

(When alone, cigar box guitar. just like.... someone.)

(Once upon a time: flute. He was okay at it, but it didn't take. He doesn't like this and it isn't his motif. Worth mentioning for the funny though)

Tahra

Classical piano. She used to play very well, but she lacks the energy nowadays and you'll mostly hear slower arrangements along the lines of Erik Satie's Gymnopédies or Debussy. you can tell i've actually thought about her musical side before if i'm naming classical composers

Turo

Pre-Turo: dhol! specifically banghra

Current Turo: All drums. Percussive instruments of most kinds. He's the beat that keeps his agents going, but also he's the visceral vibrations you feel inside your chest. Turo is intended as the driving force you feel without noticing it unless you're looking for it. Something that carries the song while you're distracted by the lead. Listen to someone do a triple paradiddle and note that it lets the drummer change dominant hands in the middle of a track. Check out Neil Peart and how he sometimes had a ridiculous number of percussives around his seat like a 360 degree circle.

Turo's intro begins on electronic drums. Later, sometimes a dhol sneaks in, more so in scenes when he's Learning Something. As his character development progresses, the electronic drums get replaced with more traditional drums and slowly more hints of dhol until the dhol overpowers the rest.

His drums underline every single one of his agents' motifs. Every introduction and every major moment for each character, he's there, underneath, supporting their theme.

(He can't actually play an instrument. These stupid flesh fingers and goo brain don't have the reaction time.)

Lavender

Clarinet. She's okay at it. Mostly it's stuff like this - leading other instruments into the mix until she dips out. Partly chosen because she's that one schoolkid whose parents are like "learn the clarinart. because i never had the chance when i was a child." izzarding again

Prin Ori

Music box motif. It should be cute, but strangely, it's all in an ominous minor key. As if it's supposed to go somewhere. And then it doesn't, because the music box wound down. (or did it. should you still be worried? ... insert spinning top from the end of Inception here)

lastly: cole character development leap forward moment (with influences from turo and tahra)

Alrighty, so here I go creating propganda for my brain child who has been with my several years and lives in my mind rent free. (This is for the @original-character-championship blog) Who is she? I’m so glad you’ve asked… I want you all to meet Nivalis “Saft” Goldenscale. (But you can just call her Saft.) She comes from the world of a original story I’ve been writing called “Dragonsbayne” which is also the name of the city she resides in and where a huge chunk of her story takes place. SO some facts about Saft :-

* HATES MUSHROOMS. * Has a really nice baker boyfriend who drank a cursed potion when he was a kid. So now he’s incapable of not draining colour out of the world around him sometimes. Oops. * Was raised in a cave for several years due to traumatic backstory. * Her reading skills aren’t the greatest. * REALLY hates mushrooms. * Her best friend is a literal book. I lie, he used to be a dragon too but he was stupid enough to try and seek a way to expand his mortality rate and whoops changed himself into a book. * My headcanon VA for her is Kazumi Evans who plays Iris in Lolirock and a bunch of random characters in MLP : FiM *My butthead of a cat jumped on the keyboard and posted this early so if you see a unfinished propaganda post, Blame the very needy Exotic Shorthair who’s dribbling on my face.

Mordern day AU Pleasant bro shenanigans HC's - One time Cole swipes Tahra's credit card off the table when she wasn't looking and goes on a shopping spree with it. Somehow he convinces Corvidan that it's totally fine (Probably lies to him or some shit about her trusting him with it for groceries.) and the next thing we see is Corv dumping a bunch of stuff Tahra wouldn't normally buy in to let him experiment with new ingredients or whatever. They get caught eventually obviously and The bros get into a fight over why Corvidan always ALWAYS has to go along with Cole's shenanigans or smth.

I feel so bad because I'm so hyper-fixated on my own work, I've never really taken the chance to ask you about yours! Take this as your opportunity to tell me about any of your characters/stories you've been working on because I've been woefully neglectful of it until now.

Look. Dragonsbayne is a JOY to see develop. It's why I spend any opportunity I can to shoot you an ask!

To be honest... I think I only revealed a liiittle bit kf Breathing Color, and when it comes to RP Ocs I hyperfixate on them randomly, despite those plots being more fleshed out. I definitely need to do some better tagging ^^;

In terms of RP, rn I'm focusing on the "Familiar Faces" Arc, where one of my OCs ends up in a Realm similar to his home, yet the people there are... Almost the opposite, but not quite. He groups up and bonds with those not-quite-friends to save the world from a threat that's native to his home realm... (A lot of characters belong to @juan-o-clocks but i can answer a lot for him since he ain't active lmao)

Breathing Color on the other hand might be a bit ironic, considering it happens to share a LOT with Corvidan lmao. It was a comic I helped a different friend work on back in 2011/12, but she gave the entire story to me and I've been rebuilding it from the ground up. RN it's in its introductory phase, with Dusk learning about Color Sages and Color Drainers.

What the heck is Dragonsbayne anyway?

Dragonsbayne started as a original story by myself about a half-dragon gal who was on a journey to find out who she was and find out who the heck this big bad was who had already taken away so much from her. However the story was REALLY flawed and extremely problematic and cringe considering I had been writing this story since I was maybe 17/18ish? (Whenever I had started college anyhow.) ANYWAY I eventually became friends with @goodmode online and we started RPing with our OC's together over on livejournal and somehow lost touch with each other. Some years later we found each other again and started talking about our OC's again because "hurr hurr what if they got together." and well it kind of blew up into the much larger more fleshed out story we have now. I was more open about telling my story with people again and eventually I was introduced to @goodbyenorthernlights who had some AMAZING insight to what was going on and guessed plotpoints we hadn't even discussed yet and it was wild so me and Goodmode decided between us that Ro should have a part in all of this too! Especially since I didn't want Saft to just find the big bad and that be it. We now have more characters, more plot points because of said characters and it feels like it's not just one character's story anymore - EVERYONE in Dragonsbayne has their own important story to tell. We have a Discord sever and a majority of stuff is on twitter regarding artwork and random discussions. I id start working on a webcomic too but ahaha unfortunately I don't have the time nor the energy to update it (Not to mention try and work out the HTML stuff which I'm not very confident with at all.) and I think I only got 3 pages in before my brain did a big fat "NOPE. THIS ISN'T WORKING." Even though we have TONNES of story to write/rewrite for it. anyway this tumblr blog will hopefully serve as a continuation of shared artworks and discussions and just random things we find that might remind us of things that happen in the story. I'll drop the Discord server if anyone wants to join and doesn't mind spoilers etc But uh yeah anyway, welcome to the world of Dragonsbayne y'all.
