So - my fellow SWTOR-to-FFXIV friends, especially those who favor Sith worlds and characters...
...is it just me or do the 97 dungeon and Solution 9 look familiar? I feel like Rigel's hitched a ride on an Imperial cruiser to Dromund Kaas.

Rigel canonically mixes reaper, dark knight, black mage and summoner. She summons her own familiars, ghosts or her own dark side along with voidsent. She carries a reaper scythe. Rigel has done the job questlines for all four, along with the ones for astrologian, scholar and sage.

We've seen many NPCs, the Scions in particular, have unique moves that their chosen jobs aren't able to use (i.e. Alphinaud's Obsidian and Moonstone Carbuncles) or moves pulled from other jobs (Gunbreaker Thancred's Perfect Deception/Souldeep Invisibility from his time as a rogue). Does your WoL have similar abilities that would be unique to them?

While foraging, animals including humans and monkeys are continuously making decisions about where to search for food and when to move among possible sources of sustenance. "Foraging behavior is something we perform daily when we go to the grocery store to pick up food, and we make choices based on the degree of reward each choice provides. It's a classical problem common to every species on the planet," said Valentin Dragoi, professor of electrical and computer engineering at Rice, professor of neuroscience at Weill Cornell Medical College and scientific director of the Methodist/Rice Center for Neural Systems Restoration. In a paper published in Nature Neuroscience, Dragoi and collaborators investigate the brain processes involved in searching for food.

This scene was worth it for the 51GB Operation SAVE THE NAMES download. Not really planning on playing again but peeking in on this date night now and again seems like fun. I wrote a story about Lana and Viri playing a sexy game of sabacc a few years before this date night. This totally tracks with that story. :D

Rigel Dragoi - Rigel is a star in my favorite constellation, Orion. When I made my WoL I had already decided she would be a reflection based on my SWTOR main (which of course works considering, just saying). And I did name my game character after my SWTOR main OC, but soon discovered that the WoL was pulling away to be her own person very much, and that I wanted to write about her too. I had a hard time coming up with a name for her but when I was browsing some astronomy maps it struck me - Rigel. In headcanon she has a deceased twin brother, Saiph, which is the star that forms Orion's other foot directly across from Rigel. I've left the last name from my SWTOR version, which is Dragoi. No, it's not "lore accurate" ie, in line with naming conventions at all for Seawolf Roegadyn, but my feeling is that it's not uncommon for people to stray from their group's naming convention. Rigel's parents were goldsmiths who went back and forth between Thanalan and Limsa Lominsa. One of her grandparents was Elezen. She had no connection to any large groups of Seawolves. So her parents had names that were not conventional and so did she and her brother.
Tumblr media
WoL QotD: What made you choose your WoL's name? Does it have any important meaning or did it just sound nice?
Follow up: Is it lore accurate? If it isn't, why not?
