Dari "Resident Evil" hingga "The Last of Us"

Adaptasi video game menjadi film telah lama menjadi jembatan antara dua industri hiburan besar: film dan game. Meskipun tidak semua adaptasi berhasil, beberapa film telah menjadi favorit penggemar dan bahkan mendapat pujian kritis. Dari horor ikonik "Resident Evil" hingga adaptasi terbaru "The Last of Us," berikut adalah beberapa film adaptasi video game yang wajib ditonton.

1. Resident Evil (2002)

Sutradara: Paul W. S. NOTES: Beautiful HD capture of one of the Final Dress Rehearsals. Top notch production and thrilling performances from Alice, Keaton, and the whole cast! This is quite a unique capture since it was the first time the blood was dropped. Too many amazing things to point out here, don't miss this one!!! A+ Well filmed with a nice mix of close-ups and full stage shots and no obstructions. Based on the revised Off-Broadway version, and presented at the Balagan Theatre. Because this was recorded at the final run-through prior to opening night, there are a few “holds” as they worked out any kinks: * After “Evening Prayers” there is a hold to change all microphone batteries, resulting in most of the song being run a second time (the sound check was removed and put as a bonus at the end of act two). * During the scene where Carrie is getting ready for the prom a microphone made a "farting" noise and Alice grabbed her butt and said "sorry" which made the cast and tech crew laugh.

This has been incorrectly labelled as an authorized production,which is incorrect - this was an unauthorized production (e.g., no rights were secured before the production), though Gore (and Cohen) were in the audience of this performance and chose not to sue Jeff Murphy and Stagedoor over copyright infringement, partly because Gore said he had always wanted to see the show done with actual teenagers (reported by Jeff Murphy, the director).

The rake in the mezzanine at the Neil Simon kinda stinks and I'm pretty sure the ushers were playing flashlight tag with each other the entire show. but I began to care a lot less as the night went on Video is very Cher-centric...choreography in "Dark Lady" is captured beautifully, but for the rest of the show I was mostly focused on getting those Stephanie, Teal, and Micaela zooms. We start at the scene before "Half Breed" and when Stephanie tells everyone to stand up for the finale it's all over for my filming ability.

NOTES: As far as I know, the first ever video of the Toronto production! I had the entire show in VOB format ready to post but, unfortunately, I lost the USB it was on in the middle of an airport. Luckily I was able to salvage all but thirty minutes of the original footage, so all that's lost is part of the scene after "I Am Here" and a portion of "Somewhere In The Middle Of Nowhere". If you find a USB the size of a thumbnail around Pearson, it's a $5 reward! A flu passed around the cast that they were all just recovering from, and at one point you can see Bev take a tissue out of her pilot's jacket and blow her nose. It explains the large number of understudies on, particularly of interest is that of the role of Hannah being played by a Caucasian actress, which causes her absence for the bus scene and leads to a severely different dynamic I'd not seen the character played as before.

Very clear sound throughout.

Red didn’t mind them knowing who he is because that’s who he is. What he did mind, was them knowing who he is to Liz. That’s why dialogue from the pilot and from Devry suggests that Red’s inside man at the FBI works DNA rather than fingerprints.

Cooper: We confirm it’s actually him? Ressler: It’s him alright. Prints match. 

Because fingerprints can’t prove familial connection. And Red had Kate, so a man in fingerprints would’ve been pointless.

Liz: Who is this guy? He claims he’s Reddington? Samar: Yes, and we can’t disprove it with DNA because there’s nothing on file from 1990 when Reddington disappeared.

This goes back to what Carla spoke of in Dr. Creel’s episode.

Carla: Are the two of you, what, working together? I don’t even want to know how you pulled that off.

A man in DNA would’ve been necessary, which is exactly where Red had him. So their belief in Red having an inside man in fingerprints led Cooper to send his DNA out to a private lab. What I believe Cooper doesn’t know, is that those fingerprints came back not in the system because they’re not Red’s. They’re gonna belong to Christopher Hargrave.

Charles Avery Gilliam: Ronda business, community leader dies

Charles Avery Gilliam, age 88, of Ronda passed away Sunday, June 30, 2019 at his home. Mr.  Gilliam was born February 12, 1931 to Don Spurgon Gilliam and Myrtle Clementine Harris Gilliam.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Ann Green Gilliam; three brothers, D. Flake and wife Evelyn, Robert, and infant brother Rex; two sisters Norma Casstevens and husband Gray, and Kathleen Pardue and husband Glenn.

Mr. Gilliam is survived by his daughters, Jan Gilliam, Ann Deal and husband Thomas; grandsons, Charles “Chas” Deal and wife Hannah, Christopher Deal; brother-in-law O.L. “Lonnie” Brown and wife Dottie; sister-in-law, Dot Gilliam; several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mr. Gilliam served in the US Army in England from 1951 – 1953 and was a lifelong member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Mr. Gilliam ran Ronda Hardware for 46 years. He helped establish the Ronda Fire Department and served as chief for 27 years. He played a supporting role in helping secure the building of the “new” Ronda bridge and bringing a branch of Yadkin Valley Bank to Ronda.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 6 at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Steve Fowler officiating. Burial with full Military Honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10346 Honor Guard will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Elkin Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be Charles “Chas” Deal, Christopher Deal, Todd Gilliam, Jeff Pardue, Lonnie Brown, Danny Mathis, Mike Johnson, and Mike Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be John Drum and members of the Ronda Fire Department.

List of Possibly Useful Media

     A goal of mine is to compile a list of productive, accessible media for the curious-minded.  Perhaps the order will not matter but I’ll try my best to arrange them in a sequence that comfortably welcomes skeptics.  What I’ve found throughout my research is that once you’re able to get the ball rolling inside your own heart/mind in terms of understanding/belief, watching more content begins to reinforce things you seem to already inherently know, as if you’re being reminded of information that has been dormant inside of you for a while.  It’s possible that certain pieces of media will activate more understanding than others and each of us are bound to have our own individual, personal journeys.

     Most of these pieces are intended to be viewed after the curious individual has already shaken out and worked through much of their personal curiosities regarding the ‘spookier’ side of cryptid study, or after they have already clicked on all the scary bedtime story videos they needed to watch to get initial fears and jitters out of their system.  Such a sort of adrenaline-fueled kind of research can be fun for the viewer but remember, the ultimate goal is not to champion fearful or paranoid conspiracy but instead a more calm understanding and Knowing.  It’s difficult to predict which specific videos will resonate with each individual, so what I will try to do is point people in the right directions and they can explore the contents of these resources on their own as they wish.

     Something significant to note is that even though most of these content creators came to their conclusions completely independent of each other, they are for the most part each pursuing similar goals of peaceful contact and developing honest relationships.  Over time many figures in these fields have come to discover each other and begin collaborations.  (Many of the contactees have been encouraged to get in touch with other contactees, scientists with other scientists, etc.)  The more one learns, the more it becomes apparent that meaningful connections can be made through genuine spiritual development.

This series features several sasquatch/interspecies communicators, from the older and more experienced to the younger and more novice.  The series is 3 feature-length parts each consisting of in-depth interviews filmed on location at a Psychic Sasquatch Conference in Washington.  Some of the many knowledgable communicators include Kewaunee and Kelly Lapseritis, Garrett Duncan, Sunbow Truebrother, Clifford Mahooty, Gayle Fowler, and Derrell Stokes.  

- Planet Weird’s Hellier five-part documentary series (available in its entirety on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/PlanetWeirdHQ/videos ) seeks to explain and connect various synchronicities experienced by the filmmakers while they look into a curious case involving “goblins.”  Eventually, as with the best paranormal investigation narratives, the team discovers slippery but affirmative evidence that events of “high strangeness” are often connected in poetic and unexplainable ways.  This is a patient watch, as anyone already convinced of interdimensionality and portals will find themselves waiting for the filmmakers to ‘catch on’ to the connections quicker.  The pace can be helpful for skeptics, however, as it is compelling to see a team of researchers each coming to such fascinating conclusions in their own time.  I also enjoyed getting to know these researchers through the footage; later in my research it was fun to see Greg Newkirk and Dana Matthews interview Kathleen Odom on the otherwise-misguided Animal Planet show Finding Bigfoot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZf-Q--pBsU

Relatively accurate narrative films I’ve seen on the subject of extraterrestrials so far seem to reach a pinnacle with Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and Contact (1997)
