I’ll say it. The musical episode on psych (2006) is a fucking masterpiece. I hate it. I love it. It’s terrible and sucks ass. It’s perfect in every single way. It doesn’t make any sense at all. It’s entirely logical. It’s unironically my favourite episode of the show.

Special shoutout to “I’ve heard it both ways” for being both an absolute banger and having some real killer lyrics. “I’ve heard it both ways, the right way and then yours” — thousands are dead, no survivors. “I’m not sure which of them is cracked”-“the nuts?”-“YOU’RE cracked”-“YOU’RE nuts!” Fucking perfection man idk what to tell you.

Right on.#anyway VLC doesn't know how to convert files for the casual user #I had to use a web-browser based thing to do it #the tools I used:#4K Video downloader Plus (free): to get the full Youtube video because VLC couldn't stream it from the link #VLC: to clip the video down to just 10-ish seconds #Free Convert (website): to convert from .asf to .mp4 because VLC couldn't do it for me #siiiiigggh anyway hope you all enjoy this beat drop #maybe it's just recency bias that makes me think this music video is so good #oddly enough getting that inline link to work also took some doing #it either didn't create a link or it automatically embedded; couldn't choose like I can with links to other sites #Opened up a new tab. Draft a new post with its own link. Turned to HTML editor. OK so, I actually taught myself English super young, thanks to basically living in English- speaking fandom spaces 24/7 (had no real friends outside of that, yikes).

Now I'm diving into a third language, and being in a non-English speaking country i get asked a lot about how i learned.

Here's my trick : Think in the language you're tackling.

Have your daily Inner monologues in that language instead of your mother tongue. But the secret sauce? Substitute words you don't know with English words or just make up nonsense that sounds like it could be from that language. Over time, as your brain learns new words it catches on, tosses the nonsense and replaces it with actual vocabulary, and suddenly, you're fluent. 🌟

No clue if there's any science behind this method, but it works for me. Language learning is personal and different methods click for different people but i hope this helps someone.

#I actually have many more tips but tbose are just the generic ones you usually get #Like watching movies or listening to music in that language #or downloading an app that nags you to practise for 5 mins a day (it adds up trust me)#But yeah this is my number one tip and i don't see it mentioned usually #languages #learning japanese #learning english #learning a new language

thank god for indie devs making like tiny little maximum 10 megabyte freeware games on itchio keeping the art of filesize optimization alive. ASSET REUSE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#im watching a video about wario land music -> 'the bizarre music and sound design of wario land 4' by geno7 #good video so far! i like this guys stuff. he talked a bit about how they did some of the sound effects for warios voice #a very like. chopped and remixed sample style of doing his vocal lines. which is very cool 1) because it saves a bit of #precious space on that gba cartridge BUT ALSO 2) it just sounds cool and interesting stylistically #and man sometimes trying to keep a file size down really does give way for some really interesting stuff #on my own personal interests in games i ADORE rpg makers rtp and how people can find creative uses for it #i love that a bunch of games can draw from the same asset pool as one install on ur computer #no bloating your hardrive with a bunch of copies of the same assets - its just already here!#and from a developers perspective i love when they reuse old assets from other games in new weird ways #some small visual novel companies will reuse backgrounds and other assets #altho i dont mind a bit of bloat with VNs since a big draw can be the big pretty images and big pretty sounds #but its still cool when people find ways to get creative with space saving. and from a players perspective its also nice #space is cheap nowadays. but its not Free. we can swallow terabytes whole with micro sds and everything #but a lot of players dont get the chance or ability to upgrade their internal memory that often. so i think being considerate of filesize i #very important. and thats not even getting into the download bandwidth limits - a lot of people all across north america can only get like #internet from 1 provider and that 1 provider often likes to upcharge and limit shit because they can #we might live in a future where a lot of powerful technology exists. but access to that tech is another story #so remember the filesize. remember the filesize.#dies in your arms
