Today my English Literature teacher, while talking about the life of Oscar Wilde, said: “I don’t think that he was in love with Alfred Douglas, after all Wilde had a wife and children at the time. They were only very good friends”.

In-between watching s17 of cme, I'm going back to rewatch s16 just for Douglas Bailey. Yall don't understand how much I love and miss that man (I mean it's nicholas d'agosto so ofc) yeah he was annoying at the beginning but he grew on me. I hate that they killed him off in ep10 and honestly i don't think it was necessary.

Since Spencer Reid has been absent from the show, Bailey ended up being my new favourite and at this point I don't give a fuck whether reid comes back or not...I just want Bailey back SOMEHOW, just give me a flashback or SOMETHING! For the love of God...

Also the reid obsessed fans...SOME are insufferable, I'm sorry but you are. There are those that are ok people, you lot are fine. It's confirmed he's not in s17. Matthew will return when he returns, it's up to him. Get over it. Half the time when I check the comments on the criminal minds page, half the comments are filled with spencer reid related questions or whatever. He'll come back when he comes back, IF he comes back. Deal with it. There's still a possibility for s18 but I wouldn't hold your breath. And even if he does come back, the likelihood is that mgg will be in a max of maybe 5-6 episodes, minimum 3 as a guest star is my guess.

I'm missing Bailey more so, I just want him back at this point. I'll be happy if reid returns, he was my first favourite (he still kinda is but the some fans are driving me away from liking him tbh - it's the reid obsessed side of the fandom I don't like and it makes it difficult for me to still like the character if you get what I'm saying)

But honestly at this point...just get back nicholas d'agosto. I just want Bailey.

de profundis is such an interesting piece of literature. it starts off with wilde talking directly to douglas finally telling him exactly how he feels about all the things he's ever done to him. it's angry, it's resentful not only to douglas but to wilde himself probably, for never truly putting a stop to it, for going back to him over and over again.

but de profundis is also about pain, it's about forgiveness, it's about humility. it's about acceptance of one's self and place in society, after all, the biggest sin is not living to the fullest. it's almost philosophical, it discusses religion and in such a unique way. it's full of literary references that if you didn't know before that wilde was an incredibly cultured man you do now. through it wilde takes the role of a teacher, a mentor not just that of a former lover who's been led down and hurt.

and of course there's the infamous 'love is a sacrament that should be taken kneeling' which is really not about sucking dick (although I will admit with that interpretation it would be a fire fucking quote), in context it's about not being worthy of celestial nor romantic love. once again it's about humility.

and all of this is so solidly structured it's amazing he wrote one page a day without being able to edit anything until later. and its prose. ughhh. I only wish I was smart enough to truly understand every nuance of it.

A random squirrel fact for you. The squirrels are actually doing what they were brought here for. It's actually quite sad. You see it used to be that back in the 1700s squirrels enjoyed the status dogs and cats have today. They were pets. All these squirrels are descendents of the largest wave of abandoned pets. On the west coast, "conservation" laws were actually intended to eradicate them as the public abandoned their pets and fondness for their squirrels.
