i can see 39 colour distinctions but i hate it
and if i count how the spaces should be to be even there should 44 different lines i hate this why would they make them two different sizes and then not put them evenly
25% of the people have a 4th cone and see colors as they are
Given the sudden interest for the color of dresses and vision, here some of the fascinating findings we did recently.
The color nuances we see depend on the number and distribution of cones (=color receptors) in our eye. You can check this rainbow: how many color nuances do you count?
You see less than 20 color nuances: you are a dichromats, like dogs, which means you have 2 types of cones only. You are likely to wear black, beige, and blue. 25% of the population is dichromat.
You see between 20 and 32 color nuances: you are a trichromat, you have 3 types of cones (in the purple/blue, green and red area). You enjoy different colors as you can appreciate them. 50% of the population is trichromat.
You see between 33 and 39 colors: you are a tetrachromat, like bees, and have 4 types of cones (in the purple/blue, green, red plus yellow area). You are irritated by yellow, so this color will be nowhere to be found in your wardrobe. 25% of the population is tetrachromat.
You see more than 39 color nuances: come on, you are making up things! there are only 39 different colors in the test and probably only 35 are properly translated by your computer screen anyway :)
It is highly probable that people who have an additional 4th cone do not get tricked by blue/black or white/gold dresses, no matter the background light ;)
(x)
#what do you mean theres only 39#im not making this up i promise there should be 44 distinct lines#my dad agrees if you look at one colour its only a few milimeters wide#and theres four bands that are double that width#and if you zoom in theres more distinctions that are probably the computer doind a thing to help it distinguish them and you could probably#find like 100 different lines (i am glaring at the yellow doublewidth)#and tumblr is making it so theres over 40 colours but the image on the website theres 39#aggravation#feeling too many emotions about this i hate it

Part 2: True Singapore ghost stories, really
From Part 1 of this ghostly series, we continue with more legit ghostly tales, straight from the mouth of Grandmaster Chew, a “ghostbuster” and owner of "Ghostbuster", a geomancy consultancy shop located in Katong Shopping Centre.
This time, people seek love and salvation from unfriendly outside influences.
In the luck for love
Mrs Peng is a successful businesswoman who lives in an apartment with her daughter. Both mother and daughter are pretty, with great personalities to boot, yet they did not have any luck in the romance department.
After her divorce, Mrs Peng was not able to find a new life partner. She was also worried for her daughter who was of marriageable age, but had yet to hold down a long-lasting relationship. Their relatives suggested the help of Grandmaster Chew.
Mrs Peng’s suspicions were confirmed by Grandmaster Chew. He highlighted Mrs Peng’s rocky marriage and the streak of bad love relationships the pair will encounter in their lives. Her main concern was for her daughter, so Mrs Peng asked if this bad luck is passed on from generation to generation.
With his celestial eyes, Grandmaster Chew informed that Mrs Peng’s father had a little brother who passed away before he had his own family, so he lingers to set obstacles for Mrs Peng and her daughter, influencing the bad romantic relationships in their lives. Grandmaster Chew, therefore, suggested performing precise rituals to deal with this situation properly.
Shortly after the rituals, her daughter found a good boyfriend, and right now, they are preparing for a most joyous occasion, a wedding. An ecstatic Mrs. Peng was even surprised to encounter some suitors herself, and is in the midst of finding her own happiness.
Trouble follows you home
The Zhangs was a happy family unit until two years ago, when their daughter started experiencing unknown headaches and with a frail respiratory system. At school, she faced bullies and was not on good terms with her peers.
When Mr Zhang learned of Grandmaster Chew, he brought his daughter to ask for his help. The first thing Grandmaster Chew said as he laid eyes on Mr Zhang’s daughter was that she likes outdoor activities. Young Miss Zhang remained silent, surprised.
He followed up by saying that it’s true that his daughter loved to climb mountains and go camping, and Grandmaster Chew replied, “Your daughter didn’t come home alone.”
A while ago, Miss Zhang went to Indonesia to go climbing and unwittingly offended a female ghost. Grandmaster Chew revealed that the female ghost was so offended by her daughters and her friends that it began following her around, affecting her health and fortune.
To help, Grandmaster Chew performed the rituals to send the offensive female ghost away. With that done, young Miss Zhang’s health improved, as well as her relationship with peers.

Counter point:
You can do so much with a 16" table loom with 4 or 8 shafts
If you learn doublewidth then you can make a fabric that is double the width of your loom so that's cool
Table looms are simpler to dress because you can easily walk around them (and they don't require a blood sacrifice)
They're travel sized and can fold down for storage, because of this you might be able to rent a table loom from a local Weavers guild to bring home to test out, they sometimes even have old equipment for sale if you ask nicely
Lastly and most importantly you should buy a loom so that I may selfishly admire your work and be inspired to get my ass back over to mine
Some day I desperately need to get a loom and start making my own fabric

Jewel Changi Airport
Forest Valley
Moshe Safdie
Jewel
Changi Experience Studio
Canopy Park
Changiairport.com/jewel

Jewel Changi Airport: Địa điểm check-in mới toanh không thể bỏ qua ở Singapore
4. Cửa hàng Nike lớn nhất Đông Nam Á
Không có gì phải bàn cãi, đây sẽ là điểm đến hot hòn họt của tín đồ mua sắm mê thể thao. Với không gian 2 tầng lầu và rộng 1.000 m2, cửa hàng này có dịch vụ “Nike By You” giúp bạn tạo dấu ấn riêng cho áo phông và giày thể thao của mình.
5. Shake Shack

The case for investing in Japanese equities
Japan’s companies are in pretty good shape. Corporate restructuring efforts have accelerated; the return on assets of non-financial companies has risen; corporate investment has fallen. Moreover, these advances have been made as debt has fallen materially.
These efforts are translating into higher operational efficiency, improved profitability and better cash flows — all of which are giving companies more flexibility in repaying debt, boosting dividends and instigating share buy-back schemes.
Yet, despite this progress, investors still seem fixated on the macro picture; the end-2017, post Abe-election-win rally is a case in point providing the impetus for another “Abenomics is working” rally. At the risk of appearing cynical, 2017’s enthusiasm will likely be followed by another “Abenomics is not working” pause if the track record of the last five years is any guide.
By failing to cut through the “Abenomics” noise, investors are still not apparently fully recognising the extent to which Japan’s companies had improved their corporate health.
But, holding one’s breath, it is possible that a change of focus is in its early stages.
In late 2017, for example, Japan’s Topix index tentatively broke through a 26-year ceiling — a major psychological barrier — but has since retreated. Whether this temporary breakthrough is sufficient to swing investor focus from the economy and “Abenomics” to the improved corporate fundamentals, is one of 2018’s early questions.
Such a shift is long overdue, in our view.
Japan’s equities also look attractive on relative terms; among the developed markets, earnings are rising at a faster pace than stock prices, thus leaving many companies more attractively valued than their US and Eurozone counterparts.
The pendulum is in Japan’s favour
Source: MSCI and IBES from Datastream,10 November 2017.2 The “Z” valuation is a composite measure giving equal weighting to the variation of both the historical price to book ratio and prospective price earnings ratios from their long-term trends. Around 70% of all world market equity values since 1 January, 2008 lie within the two outer dotted lines. SD = standard deviation.
And, as within much of the rest of Asia, the opportunities mostly lie in the long-avoided cyclical stocks. The major banks in Japan, for example, remain attractively valued. For investors put off by China’s expensive technology stocks, better value is apparent in Japan’s consumer electronics and information technology stocks.
But, also in common with the rest of Asia, Japan’s defensive stocks, to which investors ran on growth fears, remain expensive.
Overall, many pools of good value still exist in Japan. 2017’s rallies may have removed the low hanging fruit, while some headline valuations may look extended owing to strong rallies in specific stocks and sectors.
Looking behind this façade, large pools of attractively valued stocks remain.
