No one is ever allowed to call another book a doorstopper unless it’s as big or bigger than this monstrosity a customer ordered:

946 pages and 5.39 Pounds. And it’s small text.

There have been books that have been called doorstoppers before.

But this thing, at least in terms of stuff you could actually theoretically get by walking into your local independent bookstore and expect to get by ordering, blows every other one out of the water. Bigger books exist, yeah, but not that many.

And someone ordered TWO of them.

I mean it's more chonk than strict pagecount imo.

Spine greater than ~8 cm/3" is about where I start thinking of a book as a doorstopper, based on the highly scientific method of going "about yay thick" with my fingers and then holding up a ruler.

*people slain by a recent goodreads article that said anything longer than 450 pages qualified as a “doorstopper.” 450!!! What doors are you stopping with a mere 450 pages??
