Was it worthy for you to condemn yourself to a life of self imposed isolation thanks to the fear of being caught with the legal consequences of your actions as the moral ones destroy your mind with every second that passes? Of course these consequences are not born out of guilt since you seem to desperately try to separate yourself from Hyde (without results), but out of understanding that you seriously fucked up.

Not leaving your house, not enjoying life, not even facing the friend that already has sacrificed so much of his moral fortitude by trying to help you with what he thought was an attempt at your own life.

Now here Jekyll is, alone by a window, dewling and stewing on his actions, his inactions, and his words. Utterly alone in a room, going from wall to wall as he ponders upon everything done. About Hyde, about the murder, about Lanyon and Utterson.

There might a way for him to distract himself, but normally for such man so obsessed with keeping up his appaerances at some point all of it will catch up, and the only person who will stand in the room is only Jekyll.

And then, Jekyll can't even enjoy a simple conversation with Utterson because there is no way now that he can without something making him remember what he has done.

Weird HC Peony never let Peonia or Penny watch Horrid Henry. He HATED how the parents treated Henry & it hit WAY too close to home.

When it comes to writing fanfiction of henralph, people put them in this weird codependency role and usually make Henry the “cared for” and Ralph the “caretaker” and at first I hated this but like… it isn’t exactly the most non canon thing ever.

Another similar thing is who is the dependent one? It’s Henry right? Nope. Ralph. But in a different way.

It's not that Ralph depends on Henry for support in the usual sense. Instead, he unintentionally baby's Henry due to his own fear. Ralph believes in Henry's abilities and doesn't necessarily think Henry is weak. The situation is more about Ralph's fear of triggering an emotional breakdown in Henry, rather than a typical dependence. So he has to walk on eggshells around him.

So… Henry. Also isn’t dependent on Ralph… to a point. See. He has fears of abandonment but he is also avoidant. Clingy but scared of “being too much.”. They all contradict themselves.

He trusts Ralph but not 100% with the wall he built himself that even Ralph can’t break down. He wants to connect with him but he’s scared of being dropped so he doesn’t 100% lean in, so instead he avoids it. And that's why he hides those vulnerable feelings of love and care because will it even matter in the end? Will it never be enough?

He doesn’t think he can handle more heartbreak in his life. So Ralph’s fears are correct. But Henry knows that and doesn’t want Ralph to care. He wants to be by himself, to handle himself, to have no one take care of him. Because he’s scared of letting himself go and getting hurt from the people he thought he could trust. Henry doesn’t want Ralph to feel bad for him at all.

Ralph wants to protect and care for Henry but Henry won’t let him. That’s why it’s complex and not toxic. Because with fucking therapy, can they fix it? YES THEY CAN!

Which is crazy because their friendship at the start of the show was kinda… bad? Like they were friends but Ralph kinda didn’t care for Henry, and now he cares too much. I have no answer as to why that happened. I just know it's there. Well.. maybe there is an answer.

Yeah yeah Henry didn’t canonically get abused but.. this whole thing would fall apart so lets ignore that.

Maybe Ralph learned about Henry’s shitty family life and now feels like he’s responsible for Henry’s well being because of that. Ralph didn’t have an ass life so he sacrifices himself almost to make Henry’s little will to live /hj higher. Ralph wants to see Henry thrive, even at the cost of himself.

I know there’s more about Ralph but most people already know Henry’s character so… no point in rehashing it.

and yes "what about a canon reason?" bitch ralph acting like that isn't canon. I just.. see it as they get older but also that whole knight and king thing kinda blooms from it.

Henry is written off as a troublemaker but he actually has a lot of autistic traits that impact his behaviour.

1. He is an outcast and has like 1 guy who consistently speaks to him, the rest of the class find him strange and annoying. When he invites them to his birthday party, he wins his classmates over with how many cool things there's gonna be at the party, instead of them just wanting to celebrate him as a friend.

2. He hates vegetables! He also hates swimming. Those are the 2 sensory issues i've noticed so far. The reason he hates swimming is because of how the water feels on his skin, and he avoids it in school as best as he can.

3. He has a surprisingly strict routine and throws tantrums when his plans get ruined. I related to him in the birthday episode when he got upset that his parents didn't follow his orders for the party (they changed his food ideas into healthy ones without telling him, for example), because I was also the kid that cried at my birthday party when it didn't go the way I expected it to. A common event in episodes is that someone is stopping him from watching his favourite show on TV when he had planned to watch it.

4. Speaking of TV, he has such a special interest in the show "Mutant Max". He references it all the time and just *has* to watch it on TV when it airs. His other interest is toy guns, either like nerf guns or water guns. In one episode, he gets completely fixated on some toys that are found in cereal boxes.

5. He cannot get his homework in on time, which in an autistic interpretation would mean that he struggles with getting things done when he's not interested in them.
