Gonna do for Dominic x Catrina. And for that, it's simple: get along with her kids or help out with her plants. She adores her kids, and as a single mom it's rare for someone to be fine with them. So, get along with her kids (not just with her around) and spend time with them. Catrina's hobby is her plants so help trim them, or water them if she forgets.

💔 What must they do to ruin their relationship?

Stefano x Catherine. Not something I can see Stef do but be over controlling. Catherine hates to be confined. She's a "feral" cat who had to escape her mom's cage. So either like second guess her decisions or keep her from doing something she wants (within reason of course)

⚡ How would they get your muse angry at them?

For fox squad, try to change how Lovette is (to force her, rather than let her change by herself). Lovette is a flirt, she flirts with people to steal from them. She does know its wrong and feels guilty sometimes but still does it. So it John tries to take that away from her (another that I can't see happening but details).

K-Pop Spotlight: K-Pop Critical

All month long, right here on @kpop on Tumblr, we’ve been highlighting creators from the @blackintokpop coalition of Black K-pop podcasters. For the final installment, we spoke with Virginia native Morgan and New York City-based Catrina about K-Pop Critical—a podcast that deconstructs K-pop and ponders the commodity of art-making and intersections of pointless and perfect in pop culture.

Tell us about yourselves. How did you start your podcast?

I feel like any intro to our show needs the preface that we were both staunch Directioners. I was literally turned into a 1D meme on Tumblr for going to a 1D show in a white t-shirt and shorts with Zayn's face printed on both asscheeks! We also both happened to be working on degrees related to culture, media, and criticism at the time. After years of a mutual friend trying to get us to meet, we finally did and talked about 1D for an entire night. Somehow K-pop climbed in priority again for both of us, and a couple of months later, we started the show.

The podcast industry is still largely white and male-dominated. How can we continue to shine a light on BIPOC women podcasters?

Monetary support is always incredibly appreciated!!! A LOT of independent podcasters do this for $0.00, so if you see a CashApp/Venmo/Paypal/Patreon link, RUN UP ON IT! Especially if you're learning something new or just enjoy aspects of the show. Beyond this, kind words, shout-outs, questions, reviews, and other interactions on social media are huge morale boosters to keep us motivated. 

What has been your favorite episode that you’ve created?

This is a great question because I know Catrina do not be listening to our episodes often LMAO!I think we'd both agree that our second episode, #FREEHANBIN, is probably our favorite because it is the most gut-reaction recording. It featured our friend Moses, who also did a NCT 127 x Grace Lee Boggs mashup intro for an episode. We also had a great viewer phone call that helped add more context to our understanding of drug culture and South Korean legality. I think more standard/informative/less reactionary favorites are all of the episodes in our Trauma series and Blackness series.

The K-pop community is a wonderfully inclusive one, but the industry continues to have its instances of cultural appropriation. What changes in the industry do you hope to see going forward?

A doozy of a question. I never have super high hopes for cultural consciousness from ANY pop system operating with money as its main priority. That said, I am hopeful that more artists take ownership of their images and schedules and loudly proclaim their influences and what they care about, along with acknowledging when they're wrong. Hearing different idols PUBLICLY connect their love for Black music to their understanding and empathy for Black people and our struggle this past summer was such a minor (in that context) but interesting and necessary thing to witness. Hopefully, that type of appreciation continues.

When you hear Black Excellence, is there someone in or adjacent to the K-pop industry that comes to mind?

I've gotta say, I never grouped Black Excellence and K-pop in the same thought until I learned who CHIKK and Adrian McKinnon were. Without these songwriters and producers, we would be missing a huge portion of SM Entertainment's music, including massive singles. It obviously doesn't stop or begin with just them—add MNEK, Dem Jointz, Cha Cha Malone, Tayla Parx, Tiffany Red, Devin Morrison, The Stereotypes, and, obviously, Teddy Riley, to name a select few. Imagine a world without Girls Generation's The Boys, or EXO's What Is Love, or Shinee's Juliette, or *insert almost any K-pop track that is obviously RnB-leaning*: simply another marker of Black people being everywhere and doing excellent things constantly.

If you could choose any K-pop idol to appear on your show, who would your dream guest be?

So. many. people! We literally tried to get Seventeen on our show in 2020 while they were in New York touring, and it kinda drives me a lil nuts that we didn't, but it was also a ridiculously ambitious plan. 2022 though, we'll be ready. If you see a GoFundMe for buying thirteen extra cameras, don't @ us—just reblog.

What can we look forward to from you in 2021?

More episodes!! We're a little under two years into the show, and we have a lot of ideas and unfinished series to go. We'll be updating our Trauma series and Blackness series, and will hopefully get back into company and idol group episodes soon!

catherine (origin: france // meaning: pure, clear, innocent)

the last of the daly girls was the biggest surprise: tiny at birth (smaller than regina and grace) with bright blue eyes and hair of gold--the perfect contrast to her sisters. her parents were enthralled, her sisters were less so (because she was just another undeserving person to steal the attention, the gifts, the fawning). her gentle disposition earned her a loving nickname of principessa from her father and golden-girl from her sisters, but all was good for the mild-mannered catherine.

My parents fought over whether or not I’d be named Catherine or Catalina, so they combined the names together. Xitlali was given by my maternal Abuela Lucero, because I was the “star” and her first born granddaughter.

25 THINGS I LIKED IN 2016 - PRO WRESTLING EDITION by MATTHEW JAMES (@IamJamesMatthew)

My personal highlights from the world of pro wrestling for 2016. These events are in no particular order.

AJ Styles makes his WWE debut at the 2016 Royal Rumble: 2016 was AJ Styles’s year. He debuted at the WWE Royal Rumble and had one of the longest competitive times in the match. He went on to have high profile feuds with Chris Jericho, Roman Reigns, John Cena, and Dean Ambrose, ending the year with a WWE World Championship title victory over Ambrose. All the people who thought AJ would never last in WWE are now silenced. Looking ahead to 2017 and the young roster of Smackdown Live, I see phenomenal things for Mr Styles.

Shinsuke Nakamura: He ended his New Japan Pro Wrestling tour with some spectacular matches against AJ Styles and then took over NXT with victories against Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, and Sami Zayn. Nakamura’s title victory over Samoa Joe put this

Samoa Joe’s career resurgence in WWE NXT: What a difference a year makes. Just over a year ago, Samoa Joe was in TNA being bogged down with silly gimmicks and pointless feuds which lowered his value; making him forgettable. In 2016 he becomes one of NXT’s most important competitors winning the NXT Title twice from Finn Balor and Shinsuke Nakamura.  His value as a wrestler has risen so high that I cannot wait to see him go to RAW or Smackdown Live and kick some tail.

Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte Flair - FEUD OF THE YEAR: I cannot think of too many feuds that have been as exciting as this one. These two (women) put on some of the best matches if 2016 (bar none); their Hell In A Cell match is one of the best of all-time. Many people complain about the feud running longer than it should have but I disagree. We’re in an age where most feuds last only a month, so to see these women practically fought each other three-quarters of 2016 and still have exciting shows is a credit to their talent. I cannot think of any two male athletes (not named Zayn and Owens) who could have a feud as meaning as these two.

Broken Matt Hardy: The only highlight coming out of TNA Wrestling is the Broken Matt Hardy character. At first, I thought the whole persona was idiotic, but over time it developed into the biggest thing the company has had since the birth of the X-Division. What will he do in 2017? It will be interetsing to see who TNA brings in to challenge the Broken Universe.

Charlotte Flair & Sasha Banks (tie): These two women made Monday Night Raw worth watching. They had two televised main event matches and were in the first-ever women’s Hell In A Cell match.

Asuka: Undefeated and seemingly unstoppable. As dominant as Charlotte Flair is and as charismatic as Sasha Banks, Asuka seems to be the one female competitor who will truly rule the WWE.

Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Samoa Joe (NXT Takeover: Brooklyn and Toronto): Two legit tough guys having two legitimate matches of the year encounters. This what good pro wrestling is all about.

Chris Jericho and Kevin Owens: The best friends have become the best part of WWE programming. I want it to continue but I also feel their possible feud could be HUGE.

American Alpha: The new-age Steiner Brothers. These guys can definitely become the best team in WWE history if given the chance. They remind me of the Steiners and Haas & Benjaimin. They now have the Smackdown Live Tag Team Championships. A feud with the Uso’s could be special.

#BlackExcellence photo: Amazing! The people who found this to be offensive are definitely the ones with a race problem.

The Bullet Club lives: AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows did not kill the faction. In fact, the group remained, recruiting Adam Cole and Cody Rhodes as newest high-profile members.

The New Day: The longest reigning WWE tag team champions broke Demolition’s record. When you consider all of the tag teams that have competed for those belts, it truly is an amazing thing.

Women’s Wrestling: With names like Baylee, Nia Jax, Asuka, Ember Moon, Gail Kim, Kimber Lee, Io Shirai, Ivelisse, Sexy Star, Mickie James, and Awesome Kong competing - just to name a few - it’s safe to say that Women’s wrestling is far removed from the Bra & Panty matches.

Cody Rhodes flourishing without WWE: It’s great to see the former Stardust succeeding without the WWE and the bizarre character. He has taken his services to Ring Of Honor, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, Global Impact, and New Japan Pro Wrestling. The grandson of a plumber is proving to the wrestling world that you don’t need to be in the WWE to reach the big pay window.

The Elite (videos): Kenny Omega + The Young Bucks + Adam Cole = Gold.

Up, Up, Down, Down (videos): Always entertaining. Xavier Woods continues to show a side of himself and other stars that do not get to be seen on WWE TV. This YouTube series is better than most of what goes on the WWE Network.

Lucha Underground: Great action and unique characters. I’m not a fan of the intergender matches, but I like everything else I see there. Pentagon Jr, Fenix, Matanza, Prince Puma, Ivelisse, Mil Muertes, and yes, Catrina.

PWG promo videos: - Although, I don’t get the opportunity to follow PWG shows consistently, their promo videos make every event seem like a can’t miss.

The Revival: Such an amazing tag team. NXT’s best tag team can easily be considered one of the best in the profession, today. These mean are a throwback to a style, look, and cohesiveness which few teams, in the modern era, can claim. They’re going to do some damage in 2017.

The Cruiserweight Division returns to WWE: The Cruiserweight Classic tournament marked the return of a division that was sorely missing from WWE in years. Aside from bringing back the Cruiserweight Championship, this tournament opened up the door for the likes of Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Brian Kendrick, TJ Perkins, and Kota Ibushi to compete in WWE.

John Cena no longer being in the Main Event picture: The good thing about Cena not fighting for the WWE Championship on a consistent basis means two things: (a) New wrestlers are given the opportunity to fight for the championship and (b) Cena can compete with non-main event stars thus giving them the chance to stand in his spotlight (similar to his WWE US Open Challenge series) and become elevated. Cena is at a point of his career where wins and losses won’t hurt him the way they would an Apollo Crews or Baron Corbin. Less is more in this instance, and Cena is not losing his shine.

Jimmy & Jey Uso turn heel: I want these guys to man-up and take the WWE Tag Team titles (either show) and become a dominant team. A possible feud with American Alpha is every fan’s dream.

Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton win the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship: Bray Wyatt finally won gold in the WWE. I feel this win is long overdue as Bray has always been one of the few stars that fans seem to get excited about and carries himself the way a mega star should. Smackdown Live seems to be the land of opportunity where wrestlers are taking advantage of the spot given to them. Bray Wyatt is being positioned as a major player. May 2017 be his Championship year.

Dean Ambrose: This guy is the closest thing WWE has to a Stone Cold Steve Austin type of badass character. In 2017, I want to see a more serious Ambrose ... a more aggressive, less comical Dean. He held the WWE World Championship once, he can definitely win it again

"Wah, no fair!!" Catherine pouted as Chase chuckled "Life ain't fair, kitty~" he gave a fanged grin as he pulled Stef closer, making the other blush. Catherine looked up behind her "Fay-fay, Mirror is being selfish again" she tried to sound dramatic though Faline only pet her head "Didn't you have your own time with our dear? It's only right the rest of us do as well" she smiled, and though pouting Catherine leaned against her hand, letting the black cat pet her more "Fine fine".

Chase chuckled "You get to be with dolly a lot since you aren't a dorm leader, or a vice dorm leader like Fay here" he gestured to Faline who nodded "Chase, you're going to suffocate him..." Faline sighed as she looked at Stef who struggled to remove himself from Chase's embrace, face red "Oh, sorry dolly" he smiled softly, before putting a hand on Stef's cheek. He grinned, looking at Catherine before kissing Stef. The pink haired cat's eyes widened as they pulled away "You..." Catherine huffed, pressing herself against Stef "my turn" she smiled, wrapping her arms around him as she kissed him, not even giving the boy enough time to break out of his daze.

When Catherine pulled away she leaned against him, smiling happily before sticking her tongue out at Chase. Stef sat there dazed, it never was a dull moment when he was with his trio of loves. As the two younger cats bickered Faline sighed "I swear, sometimes they are too clingy to you" she ran a hand through his hair softly. Stef sighed leaning into the calming touch "Thank you, Faline" the woman blushed a bit, "You're quite welcome. Though..." She trailed off, tilting his chin up "I will also be taking my chance" she kissed him softly, making both Catherine and Chase snap out of it "And with that, we are all even yes?" Faline smiled which made the others nod, calming the mood of the room.

Dominic x Catrina

"And done." Catrina smiled to herself, sighing as she relaxed in her chair. The woman had finally finished looking at all her students assignments, finally getting a moment to herself "I do hope Mozus is fine looking after them. I know he didn't have class today and yet I still feel bad..." She was about to stand up before her classroom door opened. "Cattttt...." A tired professor dramatically called out which made Catrina chuckle "Oh dear, I suppose today was a long day for you amorcito?" Dominic only grumbled "why were so many professors out today?" He pouted.

"Well, most professors who took today off have been teaching for quite some time. They do deserve some time off after all" Catrina smiled "I don't care...." Dominic frowned as he walked closer to her "Love me." He pouted which made Catrina laugh more "Fine, fine" she reached her arms out, giggling as she felt his weight against her "You did a good job today" she smiled, playing with his hair as he relaxed against her. Dominic wasn't expecting the older woman to comply with his childish demand, so he simply hid his face.

"Y-you know I'm not the same kid that you used to make fun of..!" His voice was muffled against her "Sure, sure" Catrina leaned against him "I'm serious...!" He pulled away, putting his hands on her shoulders "You can't just tease me all the time, you can't make me blush like you used to!!" Contrary to his statements the man's cheeks were flushed. Though taken aback slightly Catrina smiled, putting a hand on his cheek "W-what are you doing...?!" Dominic flinched "You're right" Catrina smiled, leaning closer before kissing him. Dominic squeaked, face red as Catrina pulled away "I can make you blush more now" she hummed happily.

Lucien x Dominic

"Are you done yet?" Dominic frowned as Lucien continued to work "Almost, my muse" he beamed back, looking through scripts "You know, we don't get paid for overtime" He tapped his fingers on the stage "I know, but it feels weird to leave things half finished. I used to get punished at the cirque if I did" Dominic tilted his head "Oh ho, a rare story from the mysterious drama professor" he grinned, turning to face Lucien "Well, what is there to say? I was raised at a church controlled orphanage, went to school when I could. And when I graduated from Night Raven I had nowhere to return to, so I joined the cirque" he smiled

"I was working there until Mister Crowley offered me a job" "Boo, say a more fun story" Dominic pouted which made Lucien chuckle "Hmm..." Lucien thought for a bit, putting the pile of scripts to the side "Well, when I first joined the cirque I finally got to travel. As you remember I was quite different as a student-" "Yeah, a total church boy!!" Dominic grinned as Lucien shook his head "I suppose so. The church was all I knew after all. They're why I have my last name. All my parents gave me as an infant was a first name and a golden sun and moon. Nothing else" he smiled sadly "Sorry I brought it up..." Dominic apologized awkwardly "It's quite alright, I've come to terms with it" Lucien kneeled next to him, kissing him softly "After all, if they never left me there I wouldn't have met you"

He raised an eyebrow but leaned down a bit to catch the opposite end of pocky in his lips.

He could see a faint glow in her eyes "You don't have to use your unique magic on me" he chuckled as he leaned his forehead against hers "After all, haven't I already won? I've stolen the most important thing, your heart." He pecked her lips and flashed a smile before turning away, leaving Lovette stunned standing there.

Dominic x Catrina

"Huh????" Dominic fumbled back as Catrina tilted her head "Do you not want to play it with me?" She looked up at him sadly "N-no.. It's just..." He stammered 'damn it Divus!!' He cursed silently. Catrina continued to peer into his face "Please amorcito, apparently it's what all couples do today" she stepped closer to him, placing her hand on his chest.

Dominic could feel his heart pounding as he nodded his head. Catrina smiled softly, placing the pocky between her lips. Nervously Dominic bit the other side, and the two came closer before freezing. They stayed like that for a moment before a small figure came running through the open door "Mama!" Celi cried out happily as she hugged her mother's legs, making the woman fumble forward only to seal a kiss with Dominic. The couple both squeaked, pulling away quickly "Mama, what were you doing?" Celi tilted her head and though her face was red Catrina patted her daughter's head "J-just playing a game.." Dominic grumbled to himself, covering his mouth with his hand as he turned away flushed.

Halcyon x Jensen

"Really?" Jensen raised an eyebrow as he looked at the box of pocky in the other boy's hand "well it is pocky day, so I thought we could..." Halcyon trailed off, looking down at the bird. With a sigh Jensen smiled "Fine, but you'll be the only one I'd ever do this for Hal." His red eyes looked sharply at the hydra who gulped. He steeled himself as he placed the pocky between his lips, bending down so that it was easier for the bird. This only ruffled Jensen's feathers as he irritatedly bit the end of the other side.

Halcyon jumped a bit at the other's roughness before he began to nibble at it himself. When the two got close he froze and it was Jensen who took the last step. The jubjub bird pulled the other down more with his tie, crunching down on the last piece before kissing him "You don't have to pull a bs reason next time. You can just ask me to kiss you!" He glared at Halcyon as he leaned his forehead against his. Though contrary to his rough words and actions, Jensen was blushing.

I can see this happening during one of their attempts to make use of deals. Lovette being her usual flirty self but it changes as soon as John picks her up. She'd be blushy and try to hide herself against him. If her ears and tail weren't out before, they would be now. She'd still try to play it off, but there will be a slight tremble in her voice.

Being caught doing something embarrassing by your muse (Dominic x Catrina)

This I can see happening when Theo is away on a research trip. Catrina can go in her own world at times so a common thing with her is to practice her dancing and singing when she's alone. If not I can see her playing a song on the guitar. (Honestly Catrina gets embarrassed easy). So if Dominic comes in while she's doing one of these she'd go BRIGHT red and fumble. She'd try to speak but in her embarrassment it'll be a mix of Spanish and English. A lot of hand movements before eventually giving in and hiding her face.
