A concept goes a long way, and it's why I love low budget cinema: they can take risks. "Don't Kill It" is a Dolph Lundren affair, where a mysterious, vaping ladies' man and world weary demon hunter named Jebediah Woodward comes to a small American town at Christmas to deal with a demon who, when it possesses you, turns you into a rampaging psychopath. When the host is killed, the demon leaps into them. It's stupidly fun and I highly recommend it to everyone. All of the money went on blood and Dolph Lundgren, and it's such a passion project, that it easily soars into the ranks of his best works.

WELCOME TO WILLITS to Premiere September 22nd
New Post has been published on https://nofspodcast.com/welcome-willits-premiere-september-22nd/
WELCOME TO WILLITS to Premiere September 22nd
The new horror sci-fi hybrid film, WELCOME TO WILLITS, is set to premiere in select theaters and on-demand Friday, September 22. IFC Midnight, the label behind such recent horror releases as The Babadook, The Devil’s Candy, and I Am Not A Serial Killer recently released the official trailer and poster for WELCOME TO WILLITS.
WILLITS is the feature film debut of brothers Trevor and Tim Ryan. The Ryans grew up in rural upstate New York and served as the project’s director and writer, respectively. The film is based on the duo’s own 2013 short film, Welcome to Willits: After Sundown. The Willits short film was a collaboration with actor Mark Weber (2015’s Green Room) and premiered at the 2015 SXSW Film Festival. The WELCOME TO WILLITS feature film stars Bill Sage (2013’s We Are What We Are), Sabina Gadecki (2015’s Entourage), Anastasia Baranova (TV’s Z Nation), Garrett Clayton (2016’s King Cobra), Chris Zylka (TV’s The Leftovers), Thomas Dekker (2009’s Laid to Rest), Rory Culkin (2016’s Intruders), Karrueche Tran (TV’s Claws), Keelin Woodell (2017’s Bye Bye Man), and Dolph Lundgren (TV’s Arrow). Read on for the official synopsis, and posters.
Synopsis:
Deep in the woods of Northern California lies the off-the-grid town of Willits, which is a haven for marijuana growers, meth addicts and conspiracy theorists. When a group of vacationing friends unknowingly set up their campsite on the property of Willits’ most disturbed resident—a psychotic and drug-addled pot farmer who’s convinced extraterrestrials are out to get him—they’re in for a bad time.
WELCOME TO WILLITS will be released in select theaters and on-demand Friday, September 22nd. Meanwhile, you can catch the original short film in its entirety on the official Willits website.
Judging by the short film and trailer, I think WELCOME TO WILLITS looks like a lot of fun. What do you think? Are you looking forward to the feature? Speak out in the comments below.

Changing Things Up - What to do when you find you’re stuck in a rut
Hullo, Gentle Readers. This week’s Question from a Denizen comes from asfarasicouldgct who asks, “Any thoughts on ways to spice up your games if you're writing your own content but feel like you're following the same patterns to excess?”
We’re all been there, right? We get stuck in a rut and keep telling the same stories. I, myself, have told a version of the King Arthur story in so many campaigns, including the one I’m running right now. I think that we return to comfortable patterns automatically, but we all want to find a way to strive upward and tell something new. So how do we do that?
Well, step one is realizing you’re doing it. I realized it too late in this latest campaign, but I’m aware of it now, for sure. Short of running the King Arthur Pendragon RPG, I’m going to fight hard to make sure I don’t do it again in upcoming campaigns.
Once you know you have an issue, it’s time to look at what you can do instead. For one thing, you can engage in a twist. Maybe the much-prophecised king shows up, but they are thoroughly evil. Now instead of supporting the king’s ascendancy, maybe the PCs will struggle against it. Or maybe the king whose coming was foretold doesn’t come back among the “good guys”. Maybe an orcish chieftain rises among the orcs and ogres, leading them to war in the name of Gruumsh. This gets even more ironic if the human kingdom had this prophecy but thought it was a good thing, only to have it turn out to be just the opposite.
You can also simply omit your familiar territory, deliberately avoiding it in order to not tell such a story. If the PCs never get anywhere near the nobility, there’s no reason for such a story to be told, and you can look at other stories instead. Or you can do a variation on the story, but hide it in plain sight. The street gangs of Greyhawk used to work together, but they’ve been scattered since Oleg Blackcloak was executed by the town’s corrupt sheriff. Now his son, Tureg Blackcloak, who was raised in secret, is back to unite the gangs and rise up against the sheriff and the nobility who support him.
One thing I can highly recommend is to ingest new media when you’re trying to avoid falling into the trap of using a plot element that you’ve used before. Watching TV shows, reading books, reading through adventures for D&D or completely different game systems, reading comics, playing video games, watching movies, watching or listening to podcasts...I like to think that inspiration for a good game can come from anywhere or everywhere. I was actually inspired to run one of my favorite sessions of Werewolf: The Apocalypse after watching the Dolph Lundren Masters of the Universe movie. I didn’t like the adventure I was going to run, which involved fighting a god-like entity that the PCs should have had no way of affecting. Watching He-Man fight the ascended Skeletor gave me the idea that PCs weren’t trying to win the fight...just to distract the entity until a group of Mages could bind the entity. It ended up being quite memorable.
If you want a fun exercise to help you break out of a writing/storytelling rut, go down to any convenience and grocery store. Look for the worst, most ridiculous tabloid you can get your hands on. Buy it, take it home, and read it, thinking about how each story could be a plot in your RPG. I guarantee you that you’ll find inspiration in those pages.
The fun thing is that, when you work on and reskin these movies, tabloid stories, comic books, or whatever, it’s super unlikely your players will ever suspect where the plot came from. Take for example the infamous “Eye of the Beholder” episode of the original The Twilight Zone. You could take the basic idea of that episode (there are people with standards of beauty completely alien to our own), combine it with the D&D implications of the title, and, suddenly have the PCs asked to judge a Beholder beauty contest. I mean, that’s ridiculous, of course, but it’s likely your players will never guess where the inspiration came from, and it could end up being a very memorable adventure.
I hope this has helped! I know it’s no fun to be stuck in a rut, but inspiration lurks in the most unlikely of places. Until next time, be well, and watch out for Invisible Stalkers.

Time for Mountain Magic
Needless to say, I had another early day. I knew it was going to be quiet when I got home--the kids were still in school, but for some reason...after everything that happened today, the house just sounded sad and empty. I could have sworn I heard the fridge click on, the second I closed the front door. On my way to my room to change, I debated on just falling asleep for the rest of the day. I stopped and stared at the spare room door, as if it would help me decide. It was just open...waiting for something...anything to happen. It wasn't like there was a preteen throwing tantrum or an angsty teenager blasting rebellious music behind it...just a quiet room, free and cIear of any present drama. I barely lingered at the threshold, I just walked in, decision already made. I had been thinking about it for days, and now I was too far gone to stop myself. I snatched the clothes from the drawer and changed right there.
I saw myself in the hallway mirror (A thermal shirt and flannel lounge pants...in the pre summer climate?! What?...It hasn't really been pre-summer anything lately...it keeps looking like it wants to rain anyway. What are you doing? I don't know, kinda feels like a wake doesn't it?...gotta be properly dressed, right? Fine...well, you know what they do at wakes.) On my way back down to the kitchen, I stopped off in the den and had another three fingers of Jack...
Down in the kitchen, I saw the leftovers sitting there in the fridge--just waiting to be heated up...but went into the freezer instead...grabbed the half empty, five quart tub of cookie dough ice cream, the bag of chocolate chips, the bag of crushed Oreos, the bag of little Marshmellows and the bag of shelled Pistachios...with a big handful of each, a heavy drizzle of three different syrups and a giant spoon...I made my way back upstairs. Almost lost my balance for a second there, but I was fine.
Flipping on Universal Solider--the first movie we ever watched together--it almost felt like he was sitting up, in the bed next to me again. (It's just the booze. Yeah, well, I don't care) It didn't take long before the inevitable began...(Why didn't I just do something back then? Because you were still married. Didn't stop Daniel. You're really gonna make me say it, aren't you...you're better than that now. When did that happen? Oh, I don't know when I stopped all that crap!...maybe it was when you had Samantha or when you said I Do, maybe it was when we met Daniel and saw those dimples were only smiling for us...or, maybe--and this might be the booze again--maybe it was when I wanted to prove that I was worth all the Reynosas time and energy...wanted to show them that I wasn't going to ruin all they had done for me...that I wasn't going to waste my time in college with all that bullshit high school drama anymore. Yeah, well, look where that got me. You mean graduating from business school, getting married to a man that loved you-- --yeah, but did he...really? Hey, Daniel was good to me...just because things didn't work out doesn't mean you get to trash your whole time together...he gave you a family-- --you already had a family, that cared about you, that took you in...that you threw away the second you thought you had a real chance at the good life. Yeah, well, never said I was a genius. No, I screwed it all up...Joey and the family are gonna hate you, because I ruined everything! Woman...shut up and stop letting the booze talk for you...you're me and I'm you, you know I'm always going to be a part of you, so you might as well learn from me...I've seen every dumbass move we've made, but we're still here to fix it...we still have people that love and care about us...so stop talking crazy and get some sleep...if nothing else, Daniel gave us two beautiful kids that need you to be your best...you can figure everything else out later.)
I don't really remember actually watching the movie, more just looking at the pretty pictures move across the screen, wishing he was there with me...teasing me about liking Jean-Claude again. It must have been the booze (always blaming the booze, aren't ya?), but after that was over, I think I might have kept the nostalgia going with Masters of the Universe. I think I might have nodded off somewhere mid-movie, because I think I was dreaming...Dolph Lundren was in my room...in my bed...in full He-Man get up...eating ice cream with me at one point. We were watching a movie, but it wasn't any of his, it was a home movie of my last two years. He really got into the karate scenes...had a few choice ideas for handling Kreese--and Anthony...even had a pro and con list for every one of my 'love interests' as he called them...but he obviously had his favorite. Then somewhere he disappeared and Sam was there eating ice cream...finally talking to me again. I don't remember what she said, but she was smiling...and laughing.
When I woke up with a tiny bit of a hangover...the ice cream bucket was gone, the t.v. was off and a glass of water was on my nightstand next to a bottle of aspirin and a couple fast food breakfast sandwiches. I had slept through the rest of the day and the whole night...but I wasn't expecting this. (Weren't you though? Don't start that right now.) I also saw a folded piece of paper lying next to it.
Mom,
I hope you're feeling better when you read this. I know things have been weird with us lately, but that doesn't mean I don't still worry.
I'm taking Anthony into school, he doesn't know about the drinking, just thinks that you came home from work with a cold. Oh, and Sheila called. I answered, only because I didn't want it to wake you. I told her you'd be in late, because there was a school thing...I don't think she really believed me, though. I think she's just worried about you. What happened?
Remember, Mom, I still love you.
I took the aspirin and started eating. Not knowing what the hell I was going to tell her...what I was going to do at all. This will just add to her worries not to mention justify most of them. But I can't just...
*eating through second sandwich, grabs phone and texts* @chickskickasstoo
I had a really bad day at work, Sweetie. But everything will be fine now. Thank you for breakfast and taking your brother. I'll see you later tonight.
I love you too.
(Oh...And...Yes Mr. Lawrence was involved, but things are bat crap crazy upside down again, like always. I'm not telling her that! She'll find out eventually. Not now she won't...I'll keep her out of this for as long as I can...I'm not going to have her playing ping pong with my drama AND everything on her plate...she's only got a few more years to be a kid...I'm not going to ruin it anymore than I have too. Okay, but you do know that's what Mom and Dad did, too. Not now!)
I don't know why I didn't see it until now, but I had a new text notification. My thumb hovered over the icon...worried that it would be Sheila with another work update...worried that it wasn't Sheila about work.
Rattles: Talk to me... please.
*Hard swallows last bite, arms drop, stares out aimlessly...shakes head*
*Texts* @everyonesfavoritegoldenboy
Rattles, I
Johnny, I
'We’re not what you want. I’ve got nothing left. Just remember that I never once doubted my feelings for you. I just wish I was man enough to tell you sooner.'
*looks down, remembering what I'm wearing, pinching and pulling the shirt out, sees ice cream and syrup stains...looks to see the empty space on my nightstand where his picture used to be*
'Mandy, if you decide you’re worth more than him, give me a call.'
*sees Robby's picture next to that empty space...a cute, little elfish smile on his face*
*texts as a tear lands on the screen* I think we need some space.
*lays back down and cries into my pillow*

My favorite thing right now is that Dolph Lundren is as, if not more, educated that Bill Nye, in the certificate sense.
Not knocking Bill, but imagine the alternate universe where Dolph Lundgren's Science Dungeon was a thing, and Bill Nye is buff and starring in He-Man.

Sunset at The Top of The Rock, NYC
It’s already New Year’s Eve 2017, and what a year its been!
Watching my niece – Baby Squidge – develop into a little bundle of energy, with little blonde locks, bright blue eyes and a cheeky grin. Her arrival has brought my whole family much closer together…
Planning and organising the wedding and getting a kick out of creating my own centrepieces and seating cards. We also managed to save an enormous amount of money and I had a blast finding the bargains so that it was cheap, but didn’t LOOK cheap.
Meeting up with blog friends in person separately from the Bloggers Bash – staying at Sacha’s house with Sacha, Helen and Lucy then seeing Tiffany and Donna in London, meeting a bunch of my favourite bloggers in Birmingham for lunch and having Elena stay at my house for a few days when she came over from Canada.
Reaching 20,000 collective monthly readers on the blog. Amazing.
Spending time with the family.
Gemma and Matt’s wedding. Sheer perfection.
Watching the Facebook group that I created grow, and being incredibly lucky to find an amazing admin in Em. It’s full of wonderful people, it’s been a mainly positive experience and I’ve had the chance to get to know some of the community much better.
Meeting rescued foxes
Puggy-sitting my sister’s dog, Dougal
Exploring various parts of London with The Bloke.
Watching Squidge get baptised (my brother-in-law’s family is Catholic), looking gorgeous in her gown.
Seeing all my bloggy friends again and then speaking at the Annual Bloggers Bash in London. Nerve-wracking, exciting and enormously fun.
Visiting Bolsover Castle – somewhere we had never been before.
Watching Adele perform live at Wembley with 90,000 other people – it was the highest recorded audience ever at the stadium and the first of her four final tour dates, and she ended up cancelling the last two… Best concert I’ve ever been to and we were so lucky to see her.
The kindness and generosity of my friends – cocktails, a manicure, meals out, nights in, cupcakes and baklava, cat sitting… I’m very lucky!
We got married!
Smashing last year’s blog views, despite the fact that I published about 70 fewer posts this year.
Hosting my own blogging workshop.
Doing a radio interview.
Discovering my love of flat lay photography and spending hours trying out new ideas.
Receiving a message from an ex-student who had a difficult time when I taught him a few years ago, thanking me for developing his love of music. Made my day.
Being surprised by member of my Facebook group with a collection for our honeymoon. There were tears. And snot. Lots of snot.
Meeting rescued foxes at a wildlife sanctuary.
Dog sitting my sister’s pug, Dougal. Hard work, but loved the walks and the cuddles.
Overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge, NYC
Meeting Dolph Ludgren!
Creating simple and beautiful centrepieces
Going wedding dress shopping with my mum and trying on THE wedding dress for the first time. It was the second dress I tried on and my mum and I were in and out of the bridal store within an hour. Quickest dress buying ever.
The two things that I remember from the wedding ceremony: staring at The Bloke while trying not to get my vows wrong, and then laughing nervously as the Registrar made a joke about triplets.
Talking on the phone with my new sister-in-law for hours…
Building up my social media management and blog consultation client list… It’s been so much fun to get to know other bloggers better and talk stats!
Finishing everything on my bucket list for the year.
First ever couples fancy dress as Wayne and Garth from Wayne’s World for my friend’s 40th Birthday party.
Starting my bullet journal
Squidge’s baptism
Discovering a new obsession in Bullet Journalling.
The honeymoon in NYC…
Starting a weekly chat for the Annual Bloggers Bash on Twitter.
Recieving a beautiful bottle of champagne and glasses from Hugh in the mail.
Meeting Dolph Lundgren. I’ve had a crush in him for 30 years and in December I met him at the For the Love of Sci Fi Convention in Manchester. He put his arm round me, said my name and I had a picture taken with him. Dolph. Lundren. Said. My. Name. I’ll never get bored of saying that.
Snow! Lots of snow!
Receiving my first birthday and Christmas cards with ‘wife’ on them and spending our first Christmas at home together.
Watching those around me take the next steps in their lives – some have got engaged or are in the midst of wedding planning, had babies, got married, published books, bought houses, changed jobs.
Of course, it hasn’t all been positive – we said goodbye to a dear friend after a short illness just a week after she came to our wedding and some of my friends will end the year missing their departed loved ones. It’s been difficult at times…
However, whatever 2018 has in store for us, I would like to wish you a very Happy New Year and a huge thank you for every message, like, comment, share, text, phone call, meet-up, card, present and email I have received in the last 12 months. Thank you for your support and encouragement, your meltdown crisis management (you know who you are) and for making 2017 a special one!

Brock Lesnar to play Ivan Drago's son in 'Creed II,' according to Sylvester Stallone
Wow...
Sylvester Stallone made waves on Monday with this Instagram post, which seems to announce that Brock Lesnar will be playing Ivan Drago’s son in Creed II, set to release in 2018.
Big challenges come in all shapes and forms! By the way this is just for entertainment, Drago's son will be played by a new unknown…#brocklesnar #rockybalboa1976
A post shared by Sly Stallone (@officialslystallone) on Dec 11, 2017 at 11:05am PST
Stallone is once again directing, writing and starring in the sequel to the 2015 movie, which garnered a lot of award buzz and grossed $173.6M at the box office. The sequel follows Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), one a quest to avenge his father — who was killed by Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.
Dolph Lundren is returning to play Ivan Drago, with IMDB not currently listing a name for his son — to be played by Lesnar. It will mark the WWE superstar’s acting film acting debut, but playing a scary monster is something he’s already skilled at.
