Park Cleanup Pet Peeves
I'll be starting my seasonal gig at Parks and Rec in a couple months and I've got a couple things I wanna say. I know that this will probably not reach the people who need to hear it, but if ONE LESS person leaves the parks a mess, I will be That Much Happier.
-You're not supposed to smoke, drink, or have sex in public parks but I know that people will anyway. But if you are going to do those things, please dispose of the evidence in the trash cans. A human has to pick these things up.
-Dog poop goes in a bag. Bag goes in the trash can.
-The little wax paper liners in the women's room? See you're supposed to put your pad/tampon in that wax paper bag, take the bag out of the bin, and then dispose of it in the actual trash can. Don't feel bad, no one told me either. Also no one told the dudes I work with. But this reduces direct exposure to bodily fluids, especially as the summer gets on and it gets hot in those bathrooms.
-On that subject! The little bins that they go in next to the toilet? Don't stick trash in there. Don't put diapers in there. Also don't put beer cans crushed in such a specific way that I slice my hand on them as I try to jimmy it out of there. Literally, that bin is too small for most things. They are meant specifically for those brown bags. Please for the love of god, throw things in the trash can.
-As for the urinals, please no solids. Most commonly gum and chewed tobacco, but you can use your imagination.
-If you're doing a photo shoot or an event with confetti, please use a paper confetti instead of a plastic one- its easier to get rid of.
-If you're doing a pizza party, we'd rather you stack the pizza boxes in a pile next to the trash can instead of trying to fit them in the trash. Because then we can just throw the trash bag over the top and tie it instead of trying to fish it out. This kind of goes for any big trash- if it won't fit in the trash can easily, don't try.
-Please don't call cops on people sleeping in the parks if they're not bothering anyone. Even if they've been sleeping there all day. Dude's just trying to chill.
-Destruction of the toilets will result in the indefinite locking of the restrooms. You ruined them and now everyone at the softball tournament can blame you for it.
-Parks people are not the police. We are maintenance workers who are not trained to handle most emergencies and the most we can do in any situation is report to the proper department. Please don't look to us for answers if someone is starting a fight.
-Also please don't spit on us for driving on the path. We're permitted to. Its essential for us to drive on the path to do our job.
-please don't abandon animals at the park. Rehome them properly. I spent a whole week trying to catch a rooster last summer.
-look, I get it- 'oh no, your pretty building has writing on it!' Grafitti is so edgy. We get it. But it means Jacob has to sand it off now so that the kids at the birthday party don't see a giant drawing of a weiner. Acts of rebellion that create more work for the working class are not revolutionary.
-please do not set fire to the Tiny Free Library. Why did you do that? That's mean.
-please do not feed bread to ducks and geese. Corn, birdseed, lettuce- those are better for them. If you want to reduce tge amount of goose poop in the parks, shop feeding them bread.
-also do not anger tge geese. They remember what its like to be dinosaurs.
I'll have more later, probably, once the season wears on.

can you write where you secretly adopt duke for cal’s birthday? please 🥹🫶
Birthday
(okay so for the sake of this fic Covid-19 started in January of 2020 not March)
word count : 1260
warnings : none!
enjoy!
<3
Calum’s birthday was coming up and you desperately wanted to surprise him with something big, but you had to try and figure out what.
He deserved something huge, and while money wasn’t an issue for the two of you, you still had to pick a reasonable thing to get for a gift. It took you a few hours to come up with something, but eventually you picked one. Calum had been desperate for a dog since you two had moved in together, but since he was always running around and on tour, and you had a busy job as well, having a puppy just wasn’t going to work.
The dog wouldn’t get the attention and care it truly needed, despite whether or not you cared for the dog. But now, you were both at home, due to Covid-19, and nobody was really going anywhere. It was a perfect time to get a new animal, and you weren't the only one who thought so. You had seen Calum’s camera roll, and it was filled with dogs and puppies of all breeds. So, you decided, you were going to get him a puppy.
It wasn’t going to be easy to keep it a secret from him, but you went to an animal shelter the day before his birthday, and spent so much time with all of the dogs. It wasn’t until you got to the very last one that you felt a strong connection to him. He had been there for five months, and his age was estimated to be about one year old. His name tag on his cage read “Duke”, and when you read his estimated age, you were happy to see that he was a younger dog, which was what you were looking for.
He was black and white, and very fluffy, and you knew Calum would fall in love with him instantly. So, you went up to the desk to start filling out the adoption papers. When you were talking about which dog you wanted, you learnt that he was already house trained, which was a wonderful thing to hear, because as much as you wanted a dog, you were dreading cleaning up poop from around the house until he was trained. You paid his adoption fee, they put a travel leash on him, and now, you and Calum had a dog. But where was he going to go for the night? You smirked, calling up Ashton, knowing he had a soft spot for Calum.
“Hello?”
“Hey, Ash! Can I ask you a favor? But you have to keep it a secret.”
You could pretty much hear him raise an eyebrow before he agreed, humming an affirmative.
“I got Calum a gift, but I need you to keep it at your place overnight because he can’t see it until tomorrow.”
Ashton sounded a little hesitant, mostly confused.
“You can’t wrap it?”
You laughed, trying to cover it with a cough but miserably failing.
“No, I can’t.”
Duke chose this moment to see a squirrel on the side of the road, losing his absolute mind barking, and of course, Ashton heard.
“Did you get him a dog?!”
You smiled, petting Duke on the head and getting him to hop down from the window.
“I did. So, can you keep him for the night? He’s already house trained.”
Ashton sighed, but you could hear the smile and knew he was relenting.
“Yes, bring him over.”
“Okay, thanks! See you soon.”
Before getting to Ashton’s house, you stopped to get him a water and food bowl, as well as some dog food. The shelter had given you the brand that they used to feed the dogs, so you picked up a bulk bag of that, making sure he had everything he needed. You also got him a bed, a soft fluffy one. Arriving at Ashton’s, you walked up to the door with Duke, and he sat right outside with his tongue hanging lopsided out of his mouth. As Ashton opened the door, you could see the last of his resolve fade away as he immediately crouched down to pet him, picking him up in his arms and cooing at him.
You unloaded the things, helping Ashton set it up for the one night, and laughing when Ashton just waved you off, promising you he could handle it. After about an hour, you left, feeling that Duke would be safe and loved for the one night before you brought him home the next morning.
–
The next morning, you had woken up before Calum, and had gone to pick up Duke. Ashton was quite reluctant to let him go, but you promised he could come over later to celebrate. He was currently outside, and you were setting up Duke’s things in the living room. His bowls were in the kitchen, but his bed was right next to the couch. You went to wake up Calum, smiling as his eyes opened and he sat up, yawning.
“Happy birthday!!! I hate to wake you, but I need a little bit of help this morning.”
You didn’t need any help, you just were incapable of keeping the secret any longer. Calum smiled, even wider when you pressed a soft kiss to his lips, laughing when he tried to pull you back into bed with him.
“Aww, come on. It’s my birthday, you’re not going to cuddle with me?”
You grinned, pulling yourself free.
“Trust me, you’d rather get up.”
This piqued his curiosity, and he got out of bed, sleepily following you to the kitchen. You acted like you had no idea what was about to happen, smiling as he just followed you around like a lost puppy, pun intended. You had a few gifts wrapped on the table, noticing him eyeing them like a small child. You pressed a kiss to his cheek, moving behind him to fill Duke’s water bowl. Calum hadn’t realized it yet.
“Before you open anything, can you let the dog back inside? I forgot to do it before I came and woke you.”
Calum was used to dog-sitting for his friends, this phrase being not completely unfamiliar to him, and so it took him about thirty seconds to realize what you just said.
“Yeah- wait. What?!”
You smiled as he basically sprinted to his sliding porch door, his hands clapping over his mouth when Duke sprinted over to the new human being, his new owner. Calum immediately dropped to the ground to pet him, laughing and smiling as Duke licked all over his face, spinning in excited circles as Calum petted him. Calum picked him up and walked back inside, disregarding the open door as he looked at you in shock.
“You- you got me a dog?! You got us a dog?!”
You smiled, pulling out your phone and taking a photo as Calum held the dog up to eye level, setting him on his head and posing in the kitchen, smiling like an absolute fool. You picked Duke up off of Cal’s head, holding him for a selfie with the three of you.
“He’s ours? Like, forever?”
You nodded, handing him back to Calum as he set him down and watched him spin from excitement.
“What’s his name?”
“I got him from the shelter, his name is Duke.”
If Calum smiled any harder, his jaw might’ve broken.
“I love him. Best birthday ever.”
Calum spent the next three hours teaching him tricks, and if Duke ate his body weight in treats, all it showed was that he was loved.

Whew. Today is one of those days that definitely demonstrates that progress is nonlinear and unpredictable.
My lunch walk with Sadie went extremely well - we did about 2 miles in 40 minutes, and we were able to walk past another dog across the road! I know this sounds like a "basic" thing but for her, it's a huge deal. She was definitely poofed up and laser focused on the tiny wiener dog, but she didn't growl or bark once, and we did a bunch of rapid-fire 1-2-3 and she disengaged on EVERY 3 and went to "find it" when I tossed the treat into the grass. Big progress and lots of celebrating and happy times!
After work? It was like every single one of her triggers packed into a single walk.
At the very far end of our street, we got surprised by a very large husky coming out of its house on a long lead much closer than I would have liked (across the street and half a block down from us). Initially Sadie was alert but relatively fine, even disengaging; she showed curiosity so I was willing to get a little closer, but shortly after we did she had a BIG reaction. I had to physically drag her back down the street to increase the distance. We did more engage/disengage and 1-2-3 to make the experience more positive before we kept heading away from the dog and back towards our house.
On the other main street, we had a motorcycle come RIPPING by us. There's only a foot of boulevard there and the houses are right by the sidewalk, so basically all I could do was hold onto her handle-collar and harness and reinforce afterwards.
Finally got home and went to throw the poop bag away aaaaaaand Nemesis Dog who lives next door came running on its tether right up to the fence between our properties. Ironically this was the best interaction we've had with this dog - by which I mean Sadie did lunge to the end of her leash by the trash can, but was actually able to disengage and come back down the driveway with me rather than me having to fully drag her away. Small victories I guess?
With all of these, I made sure to give her cheese stick (high value treat) even when she reacted and to speak in a "happy" voice so I wasn't yelling at her. Even when I had to drag her away with the husky, I was firm but not yelling ("this way, come on, we're going this way, leave it"). And after every incident, I made sure to do some "find it" with both high value and regular treats to have her decompress and have a positive experience rather than ending the walk right then and there.
So... yeah. Trying to use the tools in my toolbox and remind myself that I can't predict everything and sometimes all I can do is management rather than preparation and diversion. I'm doing the best I can, and even with her big reactions, she calmed down SO fast compared to where she was a year or two ago.
(Also we got home and she was like "no I'm too tired for dinner" and promptly conked out for two hours on the couch. Literally didn't eat her dinner until like 8:30 pm. Sweet baby.)

okay guys I have a gross question so scroll away if you cant handle it
my partner often has this thing where he needs to poop but it won't come out. And I was thinking like if the poop is so hard that you can't push it out, why not just remove it with your fingers? I get many people think it's gross to touch poop but personally I have a dog and I have had to empty her anal sac manually when she got an infection and I have accidentally touched her poop when the bag broke some time and I've cleaned so many toilets in my job. To me it's not a big deal, I'm not scared of poop, just wash your hands well and use sanitizer? Anyway so I googled if it's safe to remove the poop on your own and google is like nooo its not safe its sooo unsafe to have fingers in your rectum dont do iiiit. What?? What about people who do anal sex? What about people who finger themselves or others in there?? Why are these things considered safe and normal but taking out some hard poop is super unsafe? I'm so confused honestly, does anyone have answers for me
why is it safe to do sexual anal fingering and even putting bigger things than fingers in your anus, but it's unsafe to insert a finger to remove feces?

I thought I found a great loophole.
At dog parks people are supposed to pick up after their animals. Every coat I own has a roll of plastic bags in a pocket. I follow the rules, and am a decent human being, so I do my duty with my dogs’ dootie.
Not that this is fun in the first place, but when it’s cold and windy it sucks to remove gloves to open the bag. I’ve tried pre-opening those plastic bags, but it doesn’t always help. The colder the weather, the thicker my gloves, and the greater need to remove them to handle the bags.
Tumblr media
The airport dog park has No Trespassing and Restricted Area signs warning people to not enter the unfenced area directly beyond the end of the runways. There’s a path worn along the front of the line of signs, showing that pretty much everyone obeys the signs.
Notice though that the sign has a silhouette of a person and indicates personnel. It says nothing about dogs.
You see where I’m going with this?
If the dogs run into the restricted area and poop, legally I can’t go in there clean up after them. My hands can remain warm in my gloves.
In the video above, Ella and Sulley are in the restricted area. Sadly for me, all they did was sniff some plants. They always poop where I can go clean up.

On a typical day, when I walk, I take in the world around me. I focus on my surroundings. How the sun's rays filter through the trees to speckle the sidewalk in shadow and light. Feeling the breeze as it prickles my skin, chasing the warmth of the sun with each step. The sound of rustling leaves and songbirds chirping their sweet tune. I write stories in my mind, thinking of ways to bring the world to life in my prose.
But this was not a typical day. On this day, I found myself trapped within my mind, feeling the pressure of anxiety in my chest as I replayed his words over and over.
'I might want a divorce.'
When we walked together, I always struggled to keep up with his swift pace. But today, I didn't bother keeping step with him. As he pulled further and further ahead, I found myself slowing down, grappling within the confines of my mind.
Our dog trotted along merrily like only a corgi could. The only times I caught up with them was when he stopped to bag up the dog's poop. He never could handle the smell. He'd complain each time the dog did his business, promptly saying how he was going to turn around to find the nearest trash can. I protested like I always did, relenting to carry the used bags so he didn't have to endure the odor.
And so there I walked -- alone, four steps behind while carrying all the shit.

What Are The Benefits Of Pet Waste Bag Dispenser
While parks, apartments, and municipalities provide dog poop bag dispenser station to correct the owner's behaviour, it is a small step in this direction; as a pet owner, you must buy a wall mount and encourage dogs to poop in the bags.

My baby girl got a new hoodie today! She hasn't been handling this last winter too well. She's getting older and the vet said she's showing signs of arthritis and suggested a hoodie for when she's outside. I think I found the best one.
I also got her a new leash, a doggy car harness, a travel bag for her treats and poop bags, a travel bowl and travel water bottle, and added some dog safe bandages and ointment along with a tick remover to my hiking first aid kit.

Which is the backpack in this animal crossing kit my oldest got me for my birthday last year.
I can't wait for our first hiking trip this year!

So, TMI, but my dog died six days ago. A perfectly natural thing, he was 13 and had been on the downward swing for a year - we actually got a year more with him than initially expected, he was so poorly last year for no obvious reason that I was 100% expecting him to pass before fall. But he perked up again, had another good almost-a-year left in him. Even now, it wasn't a surprise in the slightest when he went; he'd started having accidents in the house to the point where I'd feed him on the porch so he had easy access to the lawn instead of having to feel embarrassed about pooping indoors, and just a couple days before his passing, he hit the "one last good day" and I just knew. The night he got sick, I actually woke up to him shaking away an itch and coughing and something in me just knew that was it for him, as if these two perfectly normal things weren't perfectly normal that night.
Alas, it was rough a rough one for me anyway. After spending his last 20 hours on a mattress on the floor with him, we had a vet visit at home to put him to sleep, and he was never in any significant pain or afraid, just tired. It was a good end for the goodest of boys.
After, I had a short cry, felt better and had a magnificent time going to the store and getting some fresh air, then had a HORRIBLE night sobbing ugly on the floor, after which I slept for nine hours like a baby. The next morning, I was fine, then wasn't, then was again, then wasn't, went to the store and felt like a bag of bricks. The next morning, didn't get out of bed for six hours, because everything was so fucking pointless and there's nothing to get up for anyway. I drank about one fifth of the amount I should have during this time and the idea of having fluids made me feel ill.
Now, for the past two days, I've been feeling perfectly fine. I keep jolting to some awareness of, god, where's the dog, did I forget him outside? Oh... right. But aside from that, I haven't felt any significant urge to fall off my feet and cry on the floor until I'm gagging. However, I'm now apparently unable to sleep entirely. Back to my old insomniac ways of not having more than 4 hours of sleep a night. As a bonus, my body has no idea whether it's supposed to be sleeping at night or in the morning. Prior to last Friday, my sleep cycle was around "sleep at 10 in the night", and now it's "sleep at 6 in the morning but still wake up as if I went to bed at 10 in the night". I have no idea how to fix this and frankly, I don't care enough to, I'm too tired, I'm too struggling to adjust to my new normal to bother with something as destined to fail as trying to negotiate with my sleep issues.
But it's very "convenient" that this hit exactly when I stopped showing symptoms emotionally. It's very interesting that this hit exactly when I started showing symptoms of dissociation - thinking I just "forgot" the dog, or "lost" the dog, when I can't see him in the house. Very curious, very interesting indeed. And very interesting that all of the above happened right when I gained access to my usual methods of coping with distress, which is video games; the past couple weeks, I've been nearly entirely gameless due to a broken video card.
Funny how these things "coincide".
In all seriousness, though, I'm proud of the grief work done in this house while we had access to it. We're long-time users of the Calm app, and it has been amazing during this time. Not only that, but despite being generally aversed to emotions, particularly strong emotions, and especially grief, guilt, and anger - we've truly felt all of these things very profoundly and allowed it to happen.
So, maybe when the feelings come back from the war, they'll be at least half-handled already.
Btw, if you have not had tragedy dropped on you before, grief does fuck you up in unexpected and physical ways. If you can’t sleep or sleep more than expected or have more or reduced appetite, or energy goes weird— your brain just had a bunch of emotions dropped on it and sometimes it reacts by hitting every button in your brain. It will pass. Just try to not get too frustrated with yourself.
It’s also fine if you feel normal. Grief literally hits everybody differently, and some people are made to be able to to keep the farm going the day after a death, and some of us turn into sleepless gargoyles and get really into trying to help, and some of us are just unspeakably sad. Grief is weird. Be kind to yourself.

Dog Poop Bags: An Essential Accessory for Every Pet Owner
Dog poop bags have become an essential item for responsible pet owners. Whether you're taking your furry friend for a walk in the park, around the neighborhood, or on a trip, these bags ensure you can clean up after your dog with ease and hygiene. The market offers various types of dog poop bags, which are not only convenient but also eco-friendly in some cases. In this article, we'll delve into the importance of dog poop bags, the various types available, and key suppliers and manufacturers that pet owners should know.
Why Dog Poop Bags are a Must for Every Dog Owner
Cleaning up after your dog is more than just an act of courtesy—it's a legal and environmental responsibility. Dog waste contains bacteria and parasites that can contaminate soil and water, potentially causing harm to other animals and even humans. Dog poop bags provide a hygienic and simple way to dispose of your pet's waste, preventing it from polluting public spaces. This helps maintain cleanliness in neighborhoods, parks, and other public areas.
By using a poop bag for your dog, you also avoid fines in many areas where cleaning up after pets is mandated by law. Most importantly, poop bags give pet owners peace of mind, knowing that they are being responsible toward their environment and fellow citizens.
Types of Dog Poop Bags Available in the Market
Not all Poop bags for dogs are created equal. There are several types available, each catering to different needs and preferences. Some are biodegradable, while others are designed for convenience or even luxury.
Standard Plastic Poop Bags: These are the most common types of poop bags available. They are lightweight, durable, and easy to carry. However, they are made from traditional plastic, which is not environmentally friendly. If disposed of improperly, these bags can take years to decompose, contributing to landfill waste.
Biodegradable Poop Bags: For environmentally conscious pet owners, biodegradable poop bags are an excellent alternative. These bags are made from materials that decompose more rapidly when exposed to natural elements like sunlight and oxygen. By using biodegradable bags, you're helping to reduce your carbon footprint and protect the planet.
Compostable Poop Bags: These are similar to biodegradable bags but take it one step further. Compostable poop bags can be broken down into organic matter that can be composted. However, they need specific conditions to compost efficiently, so it's essential to follow local composting guidelines.
Scented Poop Bags: For pet owners who prefer a more pleasant experience when cleaning up, scented poop bags are a popular option. These bags are infused with fragrances like lavender or lemon, masking the unpleasant odor of dog waste.
Extra Thick or Large Poop Bags: Larger dog breeds or those with more waste output may require extra-thick or large poop bags. These bags are designed to handle more waste and prevent tearing, ensuring a mess-free disposal.
Poop Bag Manufacturers and Suppliers: Key Players in the Market
There are numerous Poop bag manufacturer and poop bag suppliers across the world, offering a wide variety of products to suit the needs of dog owners. Some focus on sustainability, producing eco-friendly options, while others prioritize durability and convenience.
Earth Rated: This company is well-known for producing eco-friendly poop bags that are both durable and affordable. They offer a range of options, including scented and unscented biodegradable bags. Earth Rated is a leading poop bag supplier committed to reducing plastic waste by offering bags made from recycled materials.
Pogi’s Pet Supplies: Another reputable poop bag manufacturer, Pogi’s, focuses on producing compostable and biodegradable bags. They offer a variety of sizes and styles, making it easy for pet owners to find the right fit for their needs. Their products are popular among environmentally conscious consumers looking for sustainable solutions.
Greener Walker: This brand specializes in offering compostable dog poop bags made from cornstarch-based materials. They are also a major Poop bags supplier, distributing their products to various retailers globally. Greener Walker's poop bags are designed to break down completely without leaving harmful residues, making them an excellent option for eco-conscious buyers.
PET N PET: Known for their large, extra-thick poop bags, PET N PET caters to owners of larger dogs. Their bags are sturdy, leak-proof, and made with recycled materials, providing durability while maintaining an eco-friendly profile.
How to Use Dog Poop Bags Correctly
Using dog poop bags is simple, but it’s essential to follow best practices to ensure hygiene and efficiency. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use them properly:
Prepare the Bag Before the Walk: Always have poop bags ready before heading out for a walk with your dog. Many pet owners carry a small dispenser attached to their dog’s leash for easy access.
Pick Up the Waste Immediately: As soon as your dog finishes its business, use the bag to pick up the waste. Place your hand inside the bag, grasp the waste, and then turn the bag inside out to seal it.
Dispose of the Bag Properly: Dispose of the filled poop bag in a designated waste bin or a public trash can. If you’re using a compostable bag, make sure to follow local composting rules, as not all composting facilities accept pet waste.
The Environmental Impact of Dog Poop Bags
Although poop bags are convenient, they do have an environmental impact, especially when they are made from traditional plastic. Millions of plastic poop bags are discarded every day, contributing to landfill waste and environmental degradation. For this reason, many poop bag manufacturers and suppliers are shifting toward more sustainable options, like biodegradable and compostable bags.
However, even biodegradable bags need specific conditions to decompose properly. They may not break down efficiently in landfill conditions, which lack the necessary exposure to sunlight, air, and microorganisms. Therefore, it's crucial to dispose of these bags correctly, ideally in composting facilities or waste systems designed to handle biodegradable materials.
Factors to Consider When Choosing Dog Poop Bags
When selecting the best poop bags for your dog, consider the following factors:
Size: The bag size should correspond to your dog's waste output. Larger breeds will require bigger, more durable bags, while smaller dogs can use standard-sized bags.
Material: Opt for bags made from eco-friendly materials like biodegradable or compostable plastics if you want to reduce your environmental impact.
Scent: If you're sensitive to odors, consider using scented poop bags to mask unpleasant smells.
Durability: Ensure the bags are thick enough to prevent tearing. A leaky poop bag is the last thing you want while out for a walk.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. What are the benefits of using biodegradable poop bags?
Biodegradable poop bags break down more quickly than traditional plastic bags, reducing environmental waste. They are a better option for eco-conscious pet owners who want to minimize their impact on the planet.
2. Are compostable dog poop bags better than biodegradable ones?
Compostable poop bags are designed to break down completely into organic matter, making them more eco-friendly than biodegradable bags. However, they require specific composting conditions to decompose properly.
3. Where can I buy high-quality poop bags for dogs?
You can purchase high-quality poop bags from various poop bag manufacturers and poop bag suppliers like Earth Rated, Pogi’s Pet Supplies, and Greener Walker. These brands offer a wide selection of eco-friendly and durable poop bags to suit every need.

I have so much to write about but I have to go to bed soon. So I may not get it all out atm but I will between tonight and tomorrow.
My mom is having the surgery tomorrow. She's getting the bag. I haven't fully been able to cope with that reality as I've been obsessed with the dog and all her contaminates.
I met with Mike and vented like crazy. Like fucking crazy about Riley and it did help a little, I could save Riley bc the paperwork isn't registered to my sister or my mother or our address, however- my sister will evict me and my mother will hate me. So I still can't, especially with my mother having the surgery tomorrow.
She has a good attitude about it. I'm not going to lie, a really good attitude about it but she's in so much pain that it's like, she can't eat. She hasn't eaten real food in a week... and she just wants to eat.
My attitude about it is, I wish I could save her. I wish I could have it not be a thing. I wish I could fix her. I wish I could take her pain away. I wish she wouldn't have her organ exposed through her stomach...
My sister said something to liv about it- if she stays sober and wants to find a guy, no one would date her. She said i wouldn't date someone with that. I hardcore object to that.... I would kill myself if I had to have a bag no fucking doubt and I wouldn't go looking for people who have them.
However if Elise has one and she showed up for me, I'd make sure she felt beautiful everyday. I love her unconditionally though, regardless of anything. She could lose her arms, her legs, she could lose her hair, everything, I just love that soul. That's what it comes down to.
If it was someone else if their personality shined and whatever I would still date them. If it was Elise I wouldn't even hesitate but I'd cry for her and talk about how sad I was to my therapist that she has to live like that. That she didn't feel attractive. That she couldn't control her bowel movements.
Anyways, I still haven't looked at what it looks like, i don't want to know. I can't help her with it. I don't want anything to do with it. I'm going to cry. We are all meat bags. Just a bunch of meat, cells clumped up together and arranged and somehow we live a life.... and that's why I believe there must be a soul in every human. Of course dogs and cats. Prob every animal.
But I think the saddest part. The part of me that wants to cry but I'm trying not to... is i feel like for the very first time in my life I'm actually getting to know my mother. She's sober. She's been sober. I'm finally talking to the soul behind her eyes. She's not just a drunk falling over and screaming shit at people. I always knew that but alcohol makes people fucking nasty.
I remember I said to Elise- my biggest problem with my mother is when she dies, I will never have known her. I'll only know what she was like with alcohol poisoning her. And now i finally feel like I'm getting to know the real her.
And her sober reality is being in so much pain. She can't eat. She cant sleep. She can't poop. She is going to have to look at her organ exposed in full blown reality. And I can't save her. I can't help her.
Don't get me wrong I'm glad there is a procedure like this so she can live instead of die. But I'm still worried about the mass on her ovaries.
She's finally in there. I've spent so much time with her even though she's bitchy sometimes and it's hard to watch her scream in pain. But when her pain is managed... that's the real her.
I'm worried she's going to die. I'm worried that she won't come home. I'm worried she will be depressed. I'm worried about everything.
I want her to come home, stay sober. Have them put her back together... and then have her stay sober and have the ovary thing be fixed and actually know my mom. God I want to cry I wish I didn't write this.
I'm going to be a basketcase tomorrow. I hope she can handle it. I know I can't see it. I hope I can sleep.
