I really liked this newest chapter. But the question that remains is that even if Deku is somehow able to save Tomura, won't the population want to seek vengeance on Tomura? i always found this to be one of the most despicable parts of AFO's design because even if Tomura had somehow realized how destructive his path is and how he's been manipulated, I don't see how he could turn back. He was a wanted terrorist since USJ and his body count has just been growing.
okay so first off, Tomura has become one of my favorite characters and so I have a very forgiving outlook toward him. but I also understand that like it or not, the damage has already been done, and there are obviously going to be serious consequences for destroying a city and murdering countless people (on top of all the other things he’s done already). obviously he’s not going to get off scot free for all of that, nor should he.
on the other hand, here’s the dilemma for me. I firmly believe in people taking responsibility for their actions, but Tomura’s case presents a quandary, because when someone’s choices are being manipulated by another party, are they really still their choices? is it still free will when every decision you think you’re making is in reality being directed by someone else’s hand as surely as a piece on a chessboard? or the player character in a video game? and it’s been that way since you were a child?
to put this another way, someone needs to be held accountable here, but I’m not convinced it’s him. like, this goes beyond even the “I was just following orders” argument, because Tomura was literally groomed since childhood to ensure that he would never do anything but follow those orders. in fact, he’s been groomed to the extent where he believes this is truly what he wants. but the reality of it is that literally everything Tomura is and everything he’s ever done is because of AFO’s direct interference.
AFO killed Nana and targeted her family, which directly led to Kotarou’s trauma, which resulted in him becoming a shitty abusive dad because no one in the BnHA universe ever goes to therapy
AFO almost certainly gave Tenko the Decay quirk (I have another post in the works about this so I won’t go into lengthy detail right now. but in my mind this is almost a certainty)
AFO also most likely interfered to prevent anyone else from coming to Tenko’s rescue before him (you won’t convince me that this was just a coincidence)
AFO literally forced Tenko to hold onto his pain and anguish and trauma, adorned him in his own dead family’s body parts, and gaslit him into believing that he had an uncontrollable urge to destroy things and kill people
lastly, AFO expertly manipulated Tenko into believing that hero society was to blame for all of his suffering, when in reality every single trauma that he’s experienced can be directly traced back to AFO
basically this kid was targeted and kidnapped and forced to become a murderer. there’s no other way to put it imo. his life was completely destroyed. and so as far as I’m concerned, the story’s ending can’t be completely satisfying unless Tomura/Tenko, as the person who’s actually suffered the most because of AFO, also gets some kind of justice for what happened to him.
and him going to jail for life, or being executed or whatever, just doesn’t feel like justice to me in this case. hence my dilemma. because the people that Tomura has hurt and killed deserve justice too. so there’s the conundrum -- we have a murderer who’s also a victim. so no matter what happens in the end, someone (read: Tomura) is either going to get off easy, or receive a punishment that they haven’t fully earned.
basically there is no perfect happy ending here. but once we accept that, there are a few “good” endings which I could see playing out. one is the Darth Vader Ending, in which Tomura turns on AFO (the fact that he still doesn’t know the extent of AFO’s involvement in his dead family extravaganza is a huge factor in his potential redemption, imo -- if/when he finds out, that will probably be the moment of truth), and battles him alongside Deku, possibly sacrificing his life to help finally defeat AFO for good. his crimes are atoned for by his death, he breaks free of AFO’s will, and he’s ultimately granted peace of a sort. on the other hand, that ending is also tragic af and I kind of hate it, ngl. AFO tortures him his whole life and then he fucking dies -- that’s one hell of a “sucks to be you” storyline for such an important character.
another possibility is an ending where, after Tomura switches sides and helps defeat AFO, Deku and a few of the others “accidentally” let him and the rest of the LoV escape. very unfortunate. we turned our back for two seconds and they managed to give us the slip. we’re very sorry, you know how it is, etc. etc. this would be the Indulgent Ending, so named because it’s extremely unrealistic, and also everything I want. it basically consists of everyone living happily ever after because I want them to, goddammit. basically Tomura and the League ride off in the sunset to lead a life of harmless crime, and also Tomura gets another dog, just because. as for Tomura’s victims, they get their justice with AFO’s death, without Tenko having to be sacrificed as yet another victim.
and lastly, there’s always the possibility of a Downer Ending in which it turns out Tomura really is too far gone and can’t be saved. Deku still defeats AFO, but Tomura dies having never broken free of AFO’s control. I would absolutely hate this ending, as it is in no way satisfactory and basically constitutes a victory for AFO, since it would mean his philosophy triumphing over his brother’s. fortunately, this is also the least likely ending imo, because it would go against the very core of the story. as the First put it, “get it, Brother? the villain... always loses in the end.” otherwise what the hell has this all even been for?
anyway, so those are some of my thoughts. it is a very complicated situation, and in the end I’ll probably accept just about any kind of ending except for that last one that I mentioned. but I’m with Deku on this one.

Calum was always down for a good time. That was one of the main reasons why you two had managed to become so close in your friendship. Whether it was spontaneous sleepovers with wine and crappy movies or going to the beach on a cloudy day to see if it would rain, Calum was always one text away. You were grateful for that, because moving to Los Angeles on your own had been such a scary and new adventure and you met Calum your first week there. It was almost like some magical force had blessed you with him because you two instantly clicked and you found yourself wanting to learn more about the guy with brown eyes who had spilled his oat milk next to you at the grocery store.
It was even more of a blessing now, when your mother had called you a few weeks before your cousin's wedding to inform you that you needed to bring a date to the big day. Normally, that wouldn't have been an issue, but since you'd recently broken up with your partner of a few months and dating in LA was just an obstacle course not ready to be dealt with. So when you texted Calum two weeks before the wedding begging him to accompany you as your date, you almost cried in relief when he asked when you'd need him to pick you up.
The drive to the northern part of California had been eventful. Calum had decided that leaving a day early would give you enough time to explore some of the small towns along the Pacific Coast Highway. That day was filled with karaoke while watching the ocean waves pass by the car, eating way too many french fries, and laughing over memes and tiktoks. It felt carefree, the anxiety over the fact your family was about to meet one of your best friends soon gone as the sunset lit up the sky with pinks and oranges. Calum had stopped at a motel with pink walls that seemed to blend into the sky, the car coming to a stop in front of the lobby as you sat waiting for him to come back with a key.
You were watching him from the glass doors, chuckling as he smiled at something the receptionist had told him. He was wearing his favorite hoodie, a green one that you'd embroidered for him one day while you were both spending the spring day together. He'd been having a hard time writing at home so he asked if it was okay to go over and try to find inspiration there. You'd been working on a present for your sister's birthday present, an embroidery of her dog, when Calum had shown up. He'd sat down next to you while you both quietly worked on your own projects, the warmth from his body making you lean into him without even realizing it. It wasn't long before you had convinced him to take off the plain green hoodie he was wearing and let you embroider something on it.
"What are you thinking of doing?" he asked you, a smile on his face as he watched you pull the fabric tight on the hoop.
"Empathy,' you nodded, "Reminds me of you."
The warm feeling that settled in your stomach that day was something you hadn't felt before when you had been around Calum. It felt like when you had laid in the sunny grass a few months back when Calum had promised to show you around the city for the best spots to find peace and quiet. It was warm and safe and everything you'd never had before.
"We should get some dinner," Calum mumbled as he got back into the car, taking you out of the warm memories, "I saw a few places down the street that looked promising, maybe we could check them out?"
"Yeah, of course." you mumbled and nodded, trying to forget the warmth in your chest.
The wedding ceremony had come and gone, vows and tears shed from both sides of the family. Calum had clapped and grinned down at you as the groom and bride walked down the aisle, squeezing the side of your waist as he led you out after everyone started to walk towards the reception. Meeting your family had been less eventful than you had imagined, everyone seeming to take to Calum almost as easily as you had. Your mother had proceeded to tell him how much she had appreciated that you had a friend in LA and your father had talked with him about the latest news to come out of the soccer world once Calum had informed him that he also tried to keep up with league news.
After dinner, which had mostly been your parents chatting with Calum while your sister snuck in teasing glances when Calum's hand found a place on your thigh. The warm feeling hadn't gone away since the day in the motel. The harder you tried to push it away, the more you noticed it. At dinner, whenever Calum's eyes met yours, you couldn't help but blush and lose track of whatever story you had been telling. During the ceremony, his hand had been in yours, the warmth of his body keeping you calm as you noticed the usually bounce of your nervous leg calmed down.
"Do you want dance?" Calum whispered in your ear at one point, everyone else who had been sitting at the table had left, leaving just the two of you alone. His hand was still on your thigh, squeezing the exposed skin gently as he raised an eyebrow at you.
"Y-yeah, dancing sounds fun." you whispered and cleared your throat as you stood up with him, leading him over to the dance floor.
Calum's arms were the best place on Earth, that's all you knew as you both danced the night away, your bodies pressing against one another as the songs slowed down and more and more people left. Your eyes met Calum, a smile adorning his face as he sang along to whatever song was playing, your mind was too busy trying not to blush as you leaned your forehead against his. A second passed between you two, both too afraid for things to change but both too eager to let anymore time pass, before your lips met one another. A sigh left Calum, making you eager to press your lips to him again when you felt the strong arms around your waist pull you closer.
The moon was still high in the sky when you both walked out of the ballroom, Calum's hand wrapped around your waist as you both made your way back up to the room somewhere on the fifth floor. Your head was laying on his shoulder, a shiver running through you as you stepped into the room and were met with a gust of chilly air. You slipped off your dress in the bathroom, letting the silky material pool at your feet, and changed into whatever pajamas you'd managed to grab from your bag before you had rushed into the bathroom to give yourself time to think about what had happened that night. Calum was sitting on the edge of bed, his curls a mess as he looked up at you. The green hoodie sat next to him, his bottom lip stuck between his teeth as you watched the gears in his brain turn.
"You seemed like you were cold, I thought you would want to wear it to sleep." Calum mumbled after a few seconds of silence, his fingers fiddling with the loose thread of his sweatpants.
You nodded, taking the hoodie and slipping it over yourself, Calum's scent engulfing you as the green hoodie brought the same warmth you'd been feeling for the past two days. Calum's hands found their place on your waist again, pulling you closer into his embrace, and it wasn't long before you were on his lap. Your hands rested on his shoulders as you both looked at one another, something unspoken passing between the two of you before your lips met and Calum leaned back onto the bed with you in his arms.

Do you own any Funko Pop! figurines?  No. I had a brief period where I wanted to start collecting them SO BAD and often went to toy stores to gawk at the figures I felt like I needed to have; but I grew out of that and I don’t even really give Funkos a second glance whenever I see them anymore haha.
How many cats and dogs have you had as pets in your lifetime?  We’ve had one cat and two dogs.
Can your mom and/or dad play any instruments, or how about anyone else in your family?  My dad can play the guitar; he just absolutely never shows it off, not even if you lay out ten guitars in front of him. I think my mom played the piano as a kid.
Have you ever colored in an adult coloring book as a stress reliever?  Yeah, it was my coping mechanism from a few years ago. I don’t do it nearly as often anymore, but I still have my coloring books and pencils stored in my room just in case I randomly want to get back to the hobby.
Can you crack crab legs without a tool?  No, I ask my parents or grandparents to do it haha.
How many light sources are in the room you’re in?  There are two, but I only use one. I never switch on my main bedroom light as I hate how brightly white it is.
What’s your favorite thing to put on bagels?  I never get bagels so I don’t really have a clue what I prefer on them.
Who’s your favorite director?  Stanley Kubrick.
Bats: cute or gross?  Neither side of the spectrum; I just don’t think about bats.
What was the last really intense pain you felt?  I got a particularly vicious scratch from Cooper around a month ago that left a deep cut on my thigh. The scar is still visible and I think it’s going to remain that way for a while haha I don’t see it fading out anytime soon.
Would you rather vacation by a beach or a lake?  Both sound extremely pleasant but I’ll take the lake trip because I’ve never seen one, or stayed near one.
How would you feel about traveling abroad alone?  I honestly feel like it’s going to be that way for me moving forward. I’m okay with it, though. I feel like it would be very calming and empowering to be able to explore the world on my own.
What is your father's middle name?  He doesn’t have a second name.
Where did your last kiss take place?  Outside my house, by her car.
Which movie villain do you find the most terrifying?  I haven’t encountered anyone yet that truly terrified me.
If you married your favorite celebrity what would your last name be?  Kim, hahaha.
Do you stick your tongue out often in pictures?  I wouldn’t say so. I pull up the peace sign most often.
Which one of your family members are you closest to?  My sister and my eldest cousin on my mom’s side.
Would you rather have name brand shoes or name brand clothes?  Shoes. They stand out more.
Are you a good liar?  Yes. Doesn’t mean I enjoy lying and take advantage of that skill as much as possible.
Are you proud of your parents?  Sure.
If you could get backstage tickets to ANY concert - which would you pick?  Paramore. I think Hozier would be neat as fuck too.
Which is better: orange or grape soda?  I don’t like soda, so neither.
Was the last thing you ate hot or cold?  They are meant to be consumed while hot.
Who was the last person in your house who isn’t family?  Angela and Hans.
What color was the last swimsuit you wore? Pink.
Can you remember the last song you listened to?  I just tuned into a random lo-fi playlist, so I’m not familiar with the tracks and the artists who made them.
Have you ever been dumped really harshly?  Yes.
Can you do a back flip, or anything else of that sort?  Nope.
Do you have any exes you can’t stand anymore?  To a considerable extent.
What happened to cause you to feel that way about them?  She is extremely selfish and the biggest coward I’ve ever met.
Are you more of a phone or a computer person?  Laptop.
Do you have a job, and if so, where do you work?  Yeah, I work at a PR firm.
If not, do you want one?
Do any medical afflictions run in your family? I know hypertension is kind of a thing on my mom’s side, but I don’t know if there are any other conditions I should know about.
What’s your favorite Mexican dish?  Burritos and enchiladas.
Have you ever been to a professional sports game?  No, just collegiate-league ones.
Do you prefer pads, tampons or something else?  I use pads. I’ve never used a tampon or any other product, so there’s no basis for me to make a comparison and establish preferences.
Have you ever ordered a specially made cake from a cake shop? Yeppp, I got a customized cake for my birthday.
What months were you and your siblings born in?  My brother and I were born in April; my sister was born in September.
What did you have for dinner last night?  Barbecue chicken.
Have you ever had sex in/on a vehicle?  In, yes. Do people have sex ON cars??????
Do you do anything to groom your eyebrows?  I will shave extremely occasionally. Otherwise no, I don’t touch them.
Has your town ever flooded?  This time of the year, always.
Have you ever played at the McDonald’s play place?  Yup. I preferred Burger King’s playplace, though; it was lesser-known so there were fewer kids I was forced to play with.
Have you ever taken a picture of snow?  I’ve never even seen it.
Do you cry easily?  I can.
Are you happy with where you live?  It’s quiet and safe, which is nice; but I think at this point I would be a lot happier and would be able to grow a lot if I moved to a big city.
Do people ever mistake you for being a different race?  Not really; but as a general thought, it is an extremly big pet peeve when people only take into account East Asians when the topic of Asia comes up.
Do you hate the last person you kissed?  I don’t hate her. But I can’t stand her.
What genre is your favorite movie?  Drama, romance, a hint of comedy.
Who was the last person you were in a car with?  My mom and my siblings.
Do you like the picture on your license/I.D. card?  Yeah haha. I was allowed to smile on my license, so at least my photo doesn’t look gloomy.
When was the last time somebody hit on you?  Hasn’t happened in a while.
Was the last person you met a male or female?  For the first time? She’s a girl.
What brand is your underwear?  I don’t remember the name anymore.
What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food?  I don’t celebrate that.
Do you have a TV in your room?  Nah. I don’t really watch the TV anymore, and using the living room TV to watch YouTube videos is enough for me.
Are any of your electronics charging right now?  My laptop is constantly plugged in. My speaker is also charging at the moment.
What was the last video game you played?  I have no clue, it’s been forever.
What’s the biggest promise someone’s ever made to you? Did they keep it?  That they’ll always stay. I didn’t make her keep it; I was the one who moved on.
Google, Bing, or Yahoo?  Google.
What was the last song you had on repeat?  It’s been a while since I set a song on repeat. Maybe Film Out? If not that, maybe UGH!
Who is your favorite person to watch on YouTube?  Rhett and Link or the Try Guys.
How many college degrees do you want?  I’m okay with the one I have.
Can you wink?  Yeah, but I’m substantially better at winking with my right eye than my left.
Do you own any jerseys?  I don’t think so.
Have you ever tried to snort Pixie Stix as a child, or even an adult?  No. I don’t even think I’ve had it ever.
Do you like going to baby showers? Do you go only for the cake?  I’ve never been to a baby shower. Not a thing here.
Has there ever been a time in your life, you felt sexually undecided?  I still am. I’m not bothered about it, though. Sex and who I have it with aren’t things I spend much time thinking about.
Do you think tattoos and piercings are sexy on the opposite sex?  Depends. It certainly suits some people better.
Do people ever ask you to do things they’re too short to accomplish?  No...I am the short person asking for help :)))))))
What color are the headphones you have at this moment in time?  I have black ones but I literally just took them off five minutes ago so I can transfer my music to the speaker I mentioned earlier.
Ever choked severely on something during lunch at your school?  I don’t think so.
Do you eat more vegetables or fruits? What’s your favorite fruit/veggie?  VEGETABLES. I love green beans, eggplants, and bell peppers the most. I can’t stand fruits, with the one exception of avocados.
What would you say is the color of your favorite bra?  Black.
Is anyone in your family a firefighter? Who is it anyway?  I don’t think so.
What do you usually buy when you go to the dollar store?  We don’t have a dollar store, and that should be self-explanatory hah.
Ever peed in the pool? Be honest!  God no. That’s gross.
When you’re older, what kind of house do you want to live in?  Something modern and minimalist.
Where do you want to get married?  Idk, I’m pretty traditional when it comes to this. Booking an events place would be ideal for me; the only thing on my wishlist would probably be the fact that I hope my wedding could be held somewhere cold, like Baguio.
Do you plan on having both your parents at your wedding?  Uh yeah, sure.
What is your favorite childhood TV show? Spongebob.
Honestly, do you like school?  I liked it when I was granted more freedom to do things my own way, which is to say I really enjoyed college. But I didn’t mind school for the most part, especially since it meant being able to see my friends everyday.
Last thing that made you cry?  I was listening to a song that resonated a lot with me at that moment.
Honestly, are you keeping a big secret right now?  Nothing too big or life-changing to someone if they ever found out.
Last person you took a walk with?  Idk, that’s not an activity I tend to do with other people.
Have you ever liked someone who didn’t like you back? No.
Who was the last person to actually pick you up in the air?  My ex, probably.
Does any part of your body hurt?  My shoulders are constantly hurting these days. I really need to buy a new work chair :(
If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to change a regret what would you do?  Million bucks. Easiest choice.
Can you keep a secret?  Sure.
Your favorite romantic movie?  The Proposal.
How do you feel about Valentine’s Day? I honestly like it, and I celebrated it when I was able to.
Who was the last person you took a picture with?  My sister and I took a silly selfie earlier.
Do your jeans have rips, tears, and holes in them?  Some of the pairs I have do, but they’re meant to be ripped jeans.
Do you celebrate 420? Nope.
Have you ever kicked a vending machine?  I don’t think so. I barely use them.
How do you eat Oreos?  I just bite into them. No patience do the whole twist-lick thing. Sometimes I’ll dip them in milk, if we happen to have some.
Do you wear your shoes in the house?  That is a big no-no.
Would you survive in prison?  I might not.
Ever been to Georgia?  No for both state and country.
Do you get your hair cut every month?  No, just once a year. Which reminds me, I finalllllllly had my hair trimmed yesterday hahaha I got sick of my long-ass hair, which was starting to feel like a bitch to maintain. It’s only up to my shoulders now.
Current relationship in detail.  I am single...nothing much to share about it. I get to enjoy to spend my money on myself, which is my favorite part about it hahaha.
If you were kicked out of your house, who would you call/go to?  My grandma.
List things you spend money on in an average week.  Food delivery and nearly every week, merch. I’ve considerably calmed down on the latter, though.
Rate each of your sexual partners (if any) from 1-10.  I’ve only had one...I guess I’d give her a 9. A bit TMI but the oral could’ve been a little better.
Post the last FB group/page that you joined.  I was looking for FB groups for a work deliverable, but I had to join one of them to give it a better scan. I don’t remember which group it had been, though.
Would you parents be mad if you were in a relationship?  No. If they did, I would be very surprised they would still be meddling with a 23 year old’s life.
Think of the last person you had sex with. Do you think they’ve slept with anyone else since they last slept with you?  I’m sure.
Is there someone that you believe you will always be attached to?  I’m not now, so no.
What board games are you good at?  I’m quite terrible at all of them, tbh. It’s why I’ve always preferred to simply watch over my friends when they do play board or card games.
Is there a sport/hobby you keep thinking about taking up, but that you’ve never quite gotten around to starting?  Wakeboarding. Do you think pranks like egging/toilet-papering someone's house are funny or immature?  Immature.
Do you think “sleeve tattoos” are a good idea?  I’m not totally obsessed with the idea, but they do look good on people.
Is there anything in particular that your parents argue about? What? I don’t know. 100% of the time they are caused by my grown-ass mother throwing a petty-ass tantrum, so I could not care less about the things they fight about.
Do you ever actually read the “Terms and Services” when you sign up for websites and such?  Nah.
If you have a handheld games console (a DS or GameBoy, for example), how often do you use it?  I haven’t used the Switch since last year.
Your phone is ringing. It’s the person you fell hardest for, what do you say?  Pick it up and wait for them to talk.
If your best friend was kicked out, would your parents let him/her live with you?  Probably not, knowing my mom – but I would do absolutely anything else to help.
Are you afraid of falling in love?  I guess you can say that, yeah. I’m not headed towards that feeling again anytime soon, though.
Is there anybody you wish you could be with right now?  I wish I was with my friends now.
Have you ever kissed someone & wished you didn’t?  No.
Did you get kissed last night?  Nope.
Do you enjoy going through a carwash?  Idk, I’ve never taken my car to one. That’s something my parents take charge of.
How did you get most of your scars?  Cooper.
Ever had to take an inkblot test? I haven’t.
Have you ever been in trouble for something you honestly didn’t do?  Sure. Like back in high school when a group of friends had been caught cheating on our chemistry exam – and we were told that the entire batch would be given a formal warning. I was on the minority side that found the entire situation hilarious, because I know they wouldn’t dare mar the records of everyone else who took that stupid test honestly.
Have you ever seriously slapped someone in anger?  My brother, only because he put his hands on me first.
What/who woke you up this morning?  Just me.
Who was the last person to be in your bedroom besides you?  My mom, who always goes in there without knocking/warning.
What’s one of your locked text messages?  I don’t lock my texts and I’m not sure if that’s an available feature on my phone.
Have you ever finished a game of Monopoly?  I don’t even know how that game works lol.
Is there anyone you know who’s in any way paralyzed?  Yes.
The truth all comes out when someone is drunk, true?  I mean for the most part, yeah. It’s easier to be honest with a few drinks in you.
When was the last time you felt disappointed in yourself?  Continued from the other day. Last week when I forgot about a virtual meeting and attended it 15 minutes after it started.
How about feeling disappointed in someone else?  Last Friday when I had to watch my dad treat a service crew member like shit.
For you, do you commonly feel more jealousy or envy?  Envy, I think. I don’t really feel jealous.
Do you rely on the heads/tails flipping of a coin sometimes for decisions?  Nope, but close. I’ll do eenie-meenie sometimes haha
Do you have any specific chores you do around the house?  Nothing I’m required to do but sometimes I’ll offer to wash the dishes or fold laundry.
For you, does comfort or fashion come first in dressing?  It’s like 70% fashion, 30% comfort. Looking nice makes me feel more comfortable lol.
Have you had two friends that absolutely hated each other?  Not each other; the dislike was one-sided. Gabie hated Andi for whatever reason, which in hindsight already should’ve been a red flag.
Do you like Laffy Taffy?  No, I’ve never had one.
Do you prefer electric or manual pencil sharpeners?  Manual, only because I’ve never seen, much less use, an electric one.
Are your biceps at all noticeable?  Nah.
Have you ever seen a walrus?  It’s possible, but I don’t have very good memories of it if I have seen one.
Did you ever have one of those Easy Bake ovens as a kid?  Not a popular toy here.
Does your bathroom have a theme to it?  It doesn’t. I think that would be a little tacky tbh.
From inside of your house, how many doors lead outside?  Three. We have doors in the kitchen, dining room, and our main door by the living room.
Are there a lot of trees in your yard?  Not really.
Have you ever liked someone that treated you like crap?  Yes.
Have a best friend?  Yup.
Does it bother you when your best friend does stuff without you?  No? That’s pretty petty. Both Angela and Andi have big circles of friends and that would be stressful on my end if I made a fuss every time they hung out with anyone that isn’t me lol.
Is there a secret you’ve never told your parents?  A bunch. I don’t count them as confidantes.
Does anyone hate you? It’s possible but I don’t care enough to want to know.
What’s the one thing you regret more than anything?  Not breaking up with Gabie earlier, even though all the red flags were there.
Do you remember important dates?  For the most part, yeah.
What’s some lyrics from a song that means a lot to you?  “Dream, may all of creation be with you til the end of your life Dream, wherever you are, will welcome you Dream, may your trials end in full bloom Dream, though your beginnings might be humble, may the end be prosperous.”
Who gives the best advice?  Andi. They’re able to tell me advice I don’t want to hear but am supposed to be hearing, which I appreciate.
Who do you usually see in your dreams? :)  It’s a random cast every time.
What type of cake did you last eat?  It was carrot cake with a really good cream cheese frosting.
How many of your friends are gay or bisexual?  Almost all of them are...it’s easier to count friends who are straight.
What’s your favorite type of sandwich?  Anything with pulled pork in it tbh.
When was the last time someone asked you out? Did you accept or decline?  I’ve never been asked out.
Do you like The Offspring?  I know a couple of songs but I definitely can’t call myself a fan.
One pillow or two?  Two.
Do you like Mad Libs?  I’ve never tried playing it.
Are you suicidal?  Not lately. I haven’t been for a while, actually. I’m really happy about that.
Where do your grandparents live?  My paternal grandparents live in the south. My maternal grandma lives in the village right next to ours haha, so not far away at all.
Do you cut yourself?  Yeesh. Can’t questions like this come with a trigger warning? Anyway, no I haven’t in a while as well.
What is your pet’s name?  Kimi and Cooper.
Have you ever been to Canada? No, but I'd love to visit. < Same!
Aren’t babies overrated?  I think they are overrated in a sense that everyone always seems to want one of their own, but the circle gets extremely smaller when it comes to those who actually have the capacity to take proper care of an infant.
Have a built-in pool in your backyard?  No.
Ever won yourself a stuffed animal? Sure, in like claw games and whatnot.
Ever had someone else win you a stuffed animal?  No. I don’t really like stuffed toys lol.
Ever been to a circus?  Nope.
Ever shot animals? I have not.
Do you consider yourself intelligent?  I guess I’m booksmart more than anything else. I had good grades and can handle myself in arguments and debates...but I have my weaknesses in other aspects too, like street smarts lol.
Have you ever run away from home?  I had a period when I wanted to, but never pushed through with it.
Do you put family first, friends, relationships, school, or something else?  Work > friends > family.
What’s something you’ve stood up for in the past?  I always shoot my mom a glare as if to say “be careful of the line you’re crossing” whenever she makes a homophobic, sexist, or racist remark.
What’s something you worked extremely hard to get?  The healthy and stable mental disposition I find myself in these days. I would never give it up for anything ever again.
Are you satisfied with your body image?  I mean not fully, but I also don’t have any complaints.
Have you ever been labeled negatively or otherwise been called something extremely derogatory?  I’ve been called a bitch by this girl that was just a terror to be classmates with back in middle school. She was known to a big war freak and had her fair share of behavioral/anger issues, so it didn’t really affect me once I knew I was her next target. I didn’t encounter her again until college when we ended up attending the same university, and she’s changed a lot for the better.
Have you ever seriously taken advantage of someone or been taken advantage of?  The former, no. Yes to the latter.
Have you ever been seriously ill?  My fever last year really felt like the end of me lmao, so I guess yeah.
Have you ever befriended a former enemy?  She wasn’t an enemy per se, but I just found myself immensely irritated by Sofie during our first few meetings; but then she ended up being one of my best friends for a time
If you’re not religious, would you ever pray as a last resort? If you are religious, do you often pray for other people?  I did in the past. I wouldn’t do so these days.
Have you ever dated someone, then after you dated they came out of the closet or switched (for lack of a better word) sexual orientation?  That hasn’t happened to me.
Has a boy/girl ever walked a ridiculous distance just to see you? How about vice versa?  I think once? My ex was brewing a surprise for me for Valentine’s Day last year and to cut the long story short, she essentially walked a crazy long distance in my school to make the surprise a success. My university is huge and even I prefer to take my car whenever I have to go from one building to another, so I definitely saw the effort she had put in.
When was the last time you felt really uncomfortable?  Right now. It’s really humid and my electric fan isn’t really doing anything to curb the heat :/
Is there anything that your mom is really known for as to how she is as a person?  She is very uptight.
Who have you been talking to the most today?  My co-workers, albeit virtually.
Are you nosy?  Nah. I won’t really press and will wait for people to open up.
What’s the meanest thing you have done to a friend?  I don’t do mean things to my friends.
If your ex called you crying, what would it most likely be about?  Fuck if I know. Her pride is way up in the sky for her to do something like this.
Who was the best kisser out of all the people you have kissed?  I’ve only kissed one person.
Have you ever been told that you have an annoying laugh?  I don’t think so. It would be etched in my head if I was ever told this.

Daminette December Day 12
Damian had been stuck in Paris for weeks. WEEKS! He had been told that this mission would be a quick one, a matter of days at most as the supervillain the League had caught wind of was obviously a complete amateur. But when Damian had got there, the villain he’d been looking for was gone without a trace, and replaced by a completely different supervillain, the only similarity being their equally atrocious costumes.
Before he could even do anything, that villain had been driven off by some red spotted heroine, only to be replaced by a different villain the next day. And the next.
Clearly something larger was at play, and when Damian called the information in to his father, he was told to stay put. And here he still was, in the worst city in the world.
He missed Titus, and Jerry, and Batcow, and Pennyworth, both the cat and the human. He missed Grayson, and father, and even Todd and Drake, not that he would ever admit it. Damian was beginning to go insane with the lone investigation -- he was supposed to get backup soon, but the Atlanteans were in crisis, apparently. Damian thought that they should let natural selection work its magic, but alas, here he was. Alone. Frustrated.
Volunteering at the Parisian Humane Society.
He could only gather so much information when the “akumas” weren’t attacking, and when they were attacking the citizens were so useless that information seemed even more limited! The akumatized people could never remember a thing, so his research mostly consisted of watching the local news and reading the blog of a local teenager. It was demeaning, actually. But he had to do something with his spare time, and this was likely the one option that would make him less likely to stab someone.
Damian was brushing a geriatric toy poodle when he heard one of the employees chirp, “Oh, Marinette! It’s wonderful to see you again, it’s been a while!”
“School has gotten a little crazy lately, but I just had to make time to come visit again!” the stranger said brightly. It reminded Damian a bit of Grayson, with a seemingly endless happiness and optimism.
“Well, you can head over to help our newest volunteer groom the dogs. He’s kind of gruff, but he’s nice to the animals.”
Damian rolled his eyes, taking care to scratch behind the poodle’s ears. It sounded like the average “animal-loving” high school girl who would turn away from an animal the second it became inconvenient. At least she was volunteering at the shelter rather than “shopping” for an animal.
The girl stopped right in front of the enclosure he was currently in. “Hi, I’m Marinette! It’s nice to meet you…”
“Damian,” he said shortly.
“Damian,” she repeated, and for some reason it gave him a shiver down his spine. “Thanks for volunteering! You’re doing a great job with Fillipe, I can just tell!”
She continued onto the next enclosure, to his favorite dog in the shelter; he was even considering bringing it home to Gotham. Before he could stop himself, he said, “Be careful with Eclair, she’s--”
“Blind in her left eye,” the girl said, nodding. “And I hope her paw has healed by now, but it’s probably a little tender still. I found her in the street, actually. I would have taken her in myself, but my parents own a bakery, and they can’t chance having animal fur around the house. I figure this is the next best thing.”
Damian blinked, his eyes suddenly seeing this girl in more detail than he had before. She had gained his respect in under two minutes, it was honestly kind of baffling, actually.
But he couldn’t deny that he wanted to know more about this girl.

added a short story bellow :)
content warnings: alcohol and implied nsfw acts, also mention of death.
—————————————
Nickolai awoke in someone else’s bed with a splitting hangover. He sat up and looked around the unfamiliar room. He checked if it was possibly Alcor’s, until he realized he didn’t know what Alcor’s bedroom looked like at all. He also didn’t know what most of Alcor’s flat looked like; he’d only ever been as far in as a single hallway.
For a few minutes, Nickolai fought the hangover to remember who he was with and what identity he’d assumed. All he could remember was Noah. He had a fake ID that said Noah, and his false identity as a Noah was a man who fixed computers. Noah was a common name though, and he couldn’t remember who the Noah here was.
He didn’t think about it much longer before he succumbed to the hangover and flopped back onto the bed—which Nickolai was alone in. The disturbed sheets on the spot next to him hinted to someone else having been in it earlier.
The door began to creak open, and Nickolai shut his eyes.
“Hey, it’s almost noon. I don’t want to be rude but you need to wake up,” sounded an unfamiliar voice.
Nickolai grumbled a little. He looked at the stranger, who had soft green eyes and curly red hair. He didn’t look untrustworthy, to Nickolai’s relief. Then again, Nickolai didn’t look untrustworthy either on a normal day.
“I have Advil if you need something for a hangover,” the stranger offered.
Nickolai sat up again, for real now. “Sorry, what’s your name?”
The stranger laughed. “I’m Joel. Were you too hammered to remember my name?”
Nickolai shook his head.
The stranger seemed concerned. “How much do you remember then?”
“I don’t know, I remember thinking I should get mad drunk in public instead of passing out on my couch. After that it’s just fuzzy.” Nickolai assumed he told Joel that his name was Noah.
Joel looked a little perturbed in an endearing way. “Ah, well, do you want me to fill the gaps or. . ?”
“Can I get some Advil first?”
“Yeah. I’ll go get some water for you to swallow it with,” Joel complied. “You should get dressed.”
Nickolai waited for Joel to leave before getting out of bed and tracking down all his clothes, which were strewn about the room. His shirt smelled like liquor to the point that Nickolai thought he might gag. However, he didn’t have any spare clothes and decided to just put up with it.
Joel was back a few minutes after Nickolai got dressed. It was clear he was trying to ignore the smell, but after Nickolai took the Advil, Joel asked if he needed to borrow something that didn’t smell so rancid. Nickolai obliged and was relieved to be able to rid the putrid button-down.
“Okay, so the parts you don’t remember,” Joel began. “I can’t say I remember it too well either, but I think I have a decent memory with these things.”
Nickolai nodded. “Go on.”
“So,” Joel continued. “It began when I think I saw the bartender cut you off on drinks, and I felt kind of bad about that. So I thought, hey, company’s much better than drinks, even though I was also drinking, like a lot. And I guess at some point we kinda started flirting, and I was like ‘should we take this back to your place?’ and you began to freak out. I think you said you have a dog that bites people or something? Is that true?”
“Nope.”
“Okay. Well anyways, you did not seem to be very happy with the idea of taking anyone to your place, so I took you to mine. And you can probably guess the rest, considering you woke up naked in my bed.”
Nickolai silently acknowledged the implications in his head. This wasn’t how he planned to start his weekend, but he could roll with it. “Yeah. Sorry for sleeping until noon, by the way. I’m not at all a morning person.”
Joel smiled with amusement. “How do you pull that off? I can’t even sleep past nine on a good day.”
“Sadness.”
Joel’s face went blank with a bit of underlying surprise at Nickolai’s off hand answer. “Oh. Sorry.”
“Don’t worry about it, no harm no foul.” Nickolai was vehemently aware that he may have used that saying incorrectly.
Joel veered the conversation away from the topic. “How does your head feel?”
“A little better.”
Joel was oddly kind. Nickolai wasn’t used to receiving this hospitality from strangers like him, but that probably had more to do with who Nickolai associated himself with and not people in general. Nickolai decided he liked Joel, even if he barely knew him.
“I would offer you some breakfast, but. . . it’s almost one in the afternoon. You’re probably hungry though, right?”
“Oh, you don’t have to.” Nickolai attempted to smile back at Joel but he was too tired to count off what would make it look genuine. Regardless, Joel didn’t seem to notice.
“I’m gonna do it anyway,” Joel decided. “Any allergies?”
“Strawberries.”
“Oh! That’s a rare one.”
Nickolai shrugged. “I seem to cash in on the rare things a lot. Albinism, an extra rib, and the strawberry allergy.”
“Casinos must hate you if you’re that lucky.”
Nickolai let out a genuine laugh. He decided he definitely liked Joel. He also felt a tinge of astonishment that someone like Joel casually hooked up with him, or generally anyone. He seemed like too much of an angel to even drink.
Nickolai followed Joel out of his room. Joel’s place was considerably nice, to the point Nickolai was in a bit of disbelief. He couldn’t have wound up in an upper class area if he had started last night at a shoddy bar, right? Joel didn’t act like he was rich, he didn’t seem like it either. But this place completely contrasted whatever Joel was like. Even Joel’s cat, a rather well groomed Norwegian forest cat—which was massive and somewhat intimidating—seemed to completely outclass Nickolai.
“Do you live here by yourself?” Nickolai asked as he surveyed the expensive wallpaper lining the kitchen walls.
“Nah, I have a housemate named Anwyll. He’s visiting family right now though.”
Nickolai froze. “Anwyll. . . As in Anwyll Tait?”
“That’s the one!”
Nickolai suddenly felt sick. “Oh fuck.”
“Is something wrong?”
Nickolai retched. Had his stomach not been empty, he had no doubt he would have thrown up all over the nice counter top.
Joel dropped what he was doing and crossed the room to Nickolai. “Are you okay?” He was suddenly at Nickolai’s side with his hand placed gently on Nickolai’s back.
Nickolai’s head spun. He knew he couldn’t tell Joel that Anwyll Tait took his brother’s life in the deathmatches. If he did, Joel would have a catalogue of every possible person Nickolai could truly be, and it would clearly point to Yuskol Voskoboinikov.
Nickolai ran through every excuse he could think up. He could say he hated the rich, but that could offend Joel. He could say the deathmatches made him sick, but Joel was obviously linked to them somehow if he was in league with a Tait. Joel felt like dangerous company, a double edged sword.
“Noah?”
“Sorry, sorry,” Nickolai croaked. “I think it’s just the hangover. I haven’t eaten since yesterday, so I guess I don’t have anything to throw up.”
That was the safest excuse.
Joel looked at Nickolai with pity. “Do you think you can eat right now?”
“Yeah.”
Nickolai felt somewhat content that he had definite confirmation that he had told Joel his name was Noah last night. The slight accent in his voice may throw off the authenticity in his identity as Noah Martin, but it wasn’t consistent enough to jeopardize him.
At the same time, the fact that he slept with someone of such high class alarmed him. Most public record photos of Nickolai Voskoboinikov’s face was outdated or somewhat photoshopped, but a Tait might be able to figure him out if they surveyed him for long enough.
“So, what’s your housemate like?” Nickolai asked. He tried to keep the nervousness from spreading to his voice.
“Anwyll can be such a jerk sometimes, but he’s also sorta nice. I’ve known him since I was little,” Joel said. “He doesn’t like new people that much, but I think he’d like you.”
“Dunno. I can be very unlikeable when I’m on my medication.” Nickolai knew with certainty that Anwyll would hate him no matter what. “Also I’m. . . lower class.” Nickolai also knew that Anwyll was a classist asshole.
“Lower class? That doesn’t matter,” Joel piped up. “The whole class thing is kind of stupid. I think the way it’s set up is interesting, but it won’t stop me from having friends from all kinds of walks of life.”
“I. . . yeah. I guess so,” Nickolai mumbled. He doubted Joel would be this positive if he knew of Nickolai’s illegal trades ties, the upper class notoriously hated brokers like him. They also especially hated him in particular.
Being there felt like the most dangerous stunt Nickolai had pulled, and he hadn’t even done it on purpose.
Joel set a ridiculously fancy, yet somehow definitely homemade, grilled cheese sandwich on a plate in front of him.
“Wow,” Nickolai mused. For a moment he wasn’t sure what to say. “This looks like something an expensive ass chef would make.”
“Thanks! I went to the top culinary school in the city, my parents say it was a waste of time.”
“Fuck what your parents say,” Nickolai replied before he took a bite. The sandwich tasted unreal. The last time he had food as good as this was when he posed as an intern for one of the deathmatch organizers.
“I’m glad you like it,” Joel smiled. Nickolai felt unease crawl back into his chest. Joel seemed so genuinely friendly, though a nagging suspicion told Nickolai it could be a lie. Nickolai couldn’t take a risk by being near him for much longer. At the same time, however, he felt captivated. Joel had that charisma that so many of the notorious upper class families seemed to unanimously mirror. He was a golden face among a sea of golden faces, all rotten under their skin. Nickolai knew what they were like.
Even then, Joel seemed to care a lot more than most would let on.
Nickolai took a deep breath. “I have to go home, sorry. I left my meds there, and I probably have people flooding my inbox about work and all that bullshit.”
“That’s alright. If you don’t mind me asking, what’s your job?”
“I fix computers,” Nickolai lied. That was Noah’s persona, and a story that should hold up if Joel decided to try and look in to it.
To be polite, he exchanged phone numbers. Nickolai only had his burner phone on him, which was a relief. The calls and texts that flooded Nickolai’s personal phone daily would have definitely been suspicious.
Nickolai liked Joel, but he knew he wouldn’t call him. Nickolai had a hunch that Joel may not be the worst of his kind, but he knew he wouldn’t text him back. It felt harsh to shut Joel out like this, but Nickolai wasn’t going to risk identification simply because he had a good encounter. They waved goodbye, and Joel’s cheery expression was a reminder that Nickolai would have to be silently cruel.
Nickolai didn’t call for a cab, he walked until his hangover began to bother him again. Then he called Alcor—Alcor didn’t have Nickolai’s burner phone address, but he was a safer bet than any cabs in this place.
The phone rang for a while before Alcor picked up.
“Who’s this?”
Nickolai felt relief wash over him to hear a familiar voice. “It’s Nick. Can you come pick me up?”
Alcor’s words were laced with suspicion as he spoke over the phone. “. . . Sure. Where are you?”
Nickolai looked at the street sign. Of course he had to stop on Ivory Street—the richest and most notorious, and also the one Nickolai hated the most for almost no real reason. With a sigh, he said, “Ivory Street.”
“How the fuck did you get there?”
“Drunkenly and against my conscious knowing.”
“Is this going to be dangerous?”
Nickolai groaned. “Not as dangerous as standing in the house that belongs to the man who killed my brother. Now get over here, I don’t think it’d be safe to use public transport in this area.”
There was a silence on the other end, then Alcor replied, “I’m on my way.”

So this ended up being too big to fit into one post and I have a problem with giving too many descriptions/ideas/etc so I’ll be chopping my AU up into more bitesized pieces. A LOT. After the cut, because if it wasn’t it’d literally destroy your dash. Just be warned that if you open this up there’s like, a whole paragraph for each character mentioned. (or more)
The Tailtwined!AU is based around another AU that I have yet to find a fitting name for, and everything is generally the same story-line (he still goes through regions in the same order, wins Alola’s league, etc) wise except for one crucial plot detail: The night before Ash’s defeat in Sinnoh’s league, the Sandgem town Pokelab burns down with people still inside; though Ash is upset by all of this, the thing he’s most upset about is Gary’s death/disappearance.
Because there should be a reason other than “he went up against Mythical and Legendary Pokemon” because that was such a cop-out for the anime. And also, yay! Angst and death (seriously where did Gary go??)
Also I’ll be cherry-picking stuff from the mangas, anime, and games and shoving them all together but I’ll try and keep it simple and not confuse too many people. The focus is currently on the timeline of Pokemon 2019/Journeys, so all of the characters up to that point that are main/side (that show up in more than one episode or are important in the games) will show up.
Notable information:
TEAM ROCKET IS A BIG. DEAL. Team Rocket has reached across the globe: Police officers that aren’t Officer Jenny or Nanu or people like Looker; Gym leaders like Sabrina and Koga, Elite four members like Will and Karen.
-People in this AU work a lot like the Wolf Children movie. Not in the fact that they can completely turn into animals, but in the fact that their features contort when they get angry or overly emotional. Most can grow claws and it is actually a sport in Galar for people to train themselves into their more animal-like forms and then fight. Outside of the ring it is frowned upon, but stuff happens.
-People with domestic animals’ features are much more common in this AU, with exotic features being more uncommon/rare. Big Cats and creatures like Wolverines are examples of this.
-Royalty and high ranking trainers like Champions and Elite four members are extremely likely to be non-domestic, but it’s not like common people have never managed to become Champion/E4 before.
Kantonian-based characters:
-Ash himself would be long-furred Birman based, with white ears and tail that are umber-tipped. This is a bit more uncommon to see but by no means the rarest of the domestic breeds. I headcanon that he has dyed it before, probably red to match his clothing, or yellow to twin with Pikachu. (Dying fur is also a statement of mourning if done correctly.)
-Gary and his father, Blue, both have a Russian Blue’s ears and tail: Their fur is quite a deep grayish-blue, but Gary’s is lighter than his father’s. Blue isn’t around in this AU, but I thought I’d mention it anyway. This type of domestic cat would be one of the more rare because it’s a recessive gene; the likelihood of Gary inheriting Blue’s cat breed was very slim but it happened anyway. Gary himself is rather vain when it comes to his fur and he's constantly picking leaves and sticks out of it, making sure it's completely pristine.
-Gary’s Mother (also not in the picture because she wasn’t in the anime/games/etc) and Daisy (Gary’s sister) are short-haired cream tabbies. Daisy is much more prominent in this AU because she’s in the games and manga. She was hit hard by Gary’s disappearance and that made her Professor Oak’s only remaining family.
-Professor Oak himself has solid brown ears/tail, but he was also one of the few “common-folk” who became Champion of Kanto. His fur is normally matted and it is more dull than it used to be, but he still tries to take care of it. He’s just really forgetful and also extremely busy with other things.
-Delia also has Birman features, but her fur is longer than Ash’s. She used to be a Pokemon Trainer in this AU, but she quit when she got pregnant with Ash, and most of her Pokemon went to be with Professor Oak.
-I know we’re taking a huge leap here, but Giovanni’s cat-like are based on a tiger's. His ears are rounded like a tiger’s. Giovanni used to be the pinnacle of attractiveness, but as the years wore on his fur began to fall out. His tail is patchy and discolored despite attempts to keep it clean and tidy, and painful fur-implants didn’t help at all. Whenever Giovanni has to make appearances, he usually makes it so no one can see his tail because his ears are mostly untouched.
-When someone’s soul or aura becomes corrupted, their body is no longer able to regulate hormones needed to keep their fur looking glossy, so it falls out and becomes frazzled/ugly. It is worse for those with a large amount of radiating Aura (think Sir Aaron or Ash or in this case, Giovanni.)
-Instead of Red being Ash’s father in this AU, Red is Delia’s sister. His ears and tail are Calico, and he--like most male Calico cats IRL--can't have biological children. Male calico anthros are just as rare as their real life counterparts. He is the one who defeated Professor Oak and became the next Champion of Kanto.
-Jessie's fur is long and white, but she dyes it completely to match her red/purple hair. She's extremely vain and when not stealing Pokemon or messing with Ash, she's grooming her tail or getting someone else to do it for her.
-James is similar to Jessie in the fact that he dyes his fur to match his hair, but he comes from a rich and higher-calibre family so he's a white tiger anthro. His family usually exclusively marries other white tiger anthros. His fur is constantly messy and it drives Jessie and Meowth insane.
-Misty  has a Spaniel's ears and tail, perfect for swimming. Her ears and tail are tri-colored with white, brown, and black. She's still Cerulean City's gym leader, and she still tries to keep in touch with Ash the best she can but he ignores her calls most of the time. Brock and her are always hanging out when she's not busy with the gym.
-Brock is the visualization of a scruffy village dog. He has a long brown tail with fur as wild as you'd like to imagine, and his ears are floppy and brown with the tips being white. That's not a good look for a healthcare professional, so he straightens the fur without too much issue.
-Tracey, though he doesn’t have a super big part of the main story, has a Great Pyrenese’s ears and tail. Because his fur is white and he’s an artist, there’s always a large array of colors displayed on his coat.

The Names and Faces of the Florida School Shooting Victims
As gunshots echoed through the high school, a geography teacher, Scott Beigel, 35, paused to usher stragglers into his classroom before locking the door, only to be shot and killed himself as the shooter strode by.
A parent, Jennifer Zeif, credited Mr. Beigel for saving her son’s life. Short Term Loans Her son, Matthew, 14, had been the last one to slip inside the class, just ahead of Mr. Beigel. Seconds later, the room filled with a smoky haze, Matthew said, and he turned to see his teacher lying near the door, pale and bleeding. Consumer Banking | Personal Banking | U.S. Bank
Scott Beigel.
“Mr. Beigel could have passed Matthew up and gone in the classroom first,” Ms. Zeif said. “In that case, Matthew would have been the one in the doorway.”
On Thursday, as officials identified 17 people killed in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., some of the victims, like Mr. Beigel, were remembered for having tried to spare others in the moments of chaos that unfolded inside the school.
Aaron Feis, a popular football coach who was killed, also had tried to protect students, officials said. “He was that kind of guy,” said Jack Fris, a former football player at the school.
Friends said they were not surprised that Mr. Beigel, a much-beloved figure at a Pennsylvania summer camp that he attended and later helped to run, had put his students’ safety above his own.
“Thousands of people at Camp Starlight looked up to Scott,” said Grant Williams, 33, an emergency room nurse who worked with Mr. Beigel at the camp for several summers and was mourning long-distance with former camp counselors and campers on Thursday. “He was someone you strive to be like,” said another former Starlight counselor.
At the Florida high school, teachers and students were among the dead. There was a soccer player, a student nicknamed Guac and a trombonist in the marching band. Eight of the victims were girls and young women; nine were boys and men. They ranged from 14 years old to 49.
These are some of their stories.
Alyssa Alhadeff.Alyssa Alhadeff
Alyssa Alhadeff, 14, had played competitive soccer since she was 3 years old. Like any athlete, she had her ups and downs. But when her club, Parkland, faced off against the rival team from Coral Springs on Feb. 13, she was at the top of her game.
“Her passing was on, her shooting was on, her decision-making was on,” her mother, Lori Alhadeff, recalled. With her outgoing personality, Alyssa had a wide circle of friends at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. She placed first in a debate tournament, was taking Algebra 2 and Spanish 3, and was honing her skills as an attacking midfielder. The score at what was to be her last time on the soccer field was 1-0, Parkland.
“I was so proud of her,” her mother said. “I told her it was the best game of her life.”
Martin Duque Anguiano.Martin Duque Anguiano
Martin Duque Anguiano, a 14-year-old freshman, was “a very funny kid, outgoing and sometimes really quiet,” his brother, Miguel Duque, wrote on a GoFundMe page for funeral expenses.
“He was sweet and caring and loved by all his family,” Miguel wrote. “Most of all he was my baby brother.”
Nicholas Dworet.Credit...via ReutersNicholas Dworet
Nicholas Dworet, a promising high school swimmer, took a recruiting visit to the University of Indianapolis a few weeks ago. After a group dinner, he pulled the coach aside and said he wanted to compete there after he graduated this spring.
“He was an instant part of our family,” said Jason Hite, the university’s swim coach. Mr. Hite said Nicholas, 17, had received an academic scholarship and planned to study physical therapy.
University officials and a youth swim team in Florida said Nicholas was among those killed on Wednesday. A post on the Facebook page for TS Aquatics, the Florida club where he swam, described Nicholas as an amazing person who had been “on a major upswing in his life.”
Nicholas had improved academically and athletically since starting high school, Mr. Hite said, and his mentors in Florida “felt like the best was still to come for him.”
“We were going to continue to groom him to be a future leader for our team,” Mr. Hite said.
Mr. Hite said he sent Nicholas a text message on Wednesday afternoon after hearing about the shooting at his school. He got no response.
“The saddest thing to me is how much life this kid had and how hard he had worked to change directions and change paths,” Mr. Hite said. “He was really going in the right direction and he had really created some opportunities for himself.”
Aaron Feis.Aaron Feis
At Stoneman Douglas, Mr. Feis was known to all — an assistant football coach and a security monitor. But he too had graduated from the school, played on the football team, and knew exactly what it was like to be a student in these halls.
So he was seen as someone who looked out for students who got in trouble, those who were struggling, those without fathers at home. “They said he was like another father,” Mr. Feis’s grandfather, Raymond, recalled. “He’d go out of his way to help anybody.”
School officials said that Mr. Feis, 37, did the same on Wednesday. When there were signs of trouble, they said, he responded immediately to help. “When Aaron Feis died, when he was killed — tragically, inhumanely — he did it protecting others; you can guarantee that,” said Scott Israel, the sheriff of Broward County.
“I don’t know when Aaron’s funeral is,” Sheriff Israel said. “I don’t know how many adults are going to go, but you’ll get 2,000 kids there.”
In Parkland, Austin Lazar, a student, recalled his former coach as cheery and selfless. “He always put everybody before himself.”
Mr. Feis was married, his family said, and had a daughter, Arielle.
Jaime Guttenberg.Credit...via Associated PressJaime Guttenberg
Jaime Guttenberg, 14, danced nonstop. Sometimes she went on for hours, her aunt, Ellyn Guttenberg, said. Jaime was warm, too, always taking Ms. Guttenberg’s son, who has special needs, under her wing.
Jaime’s Facebook page, now memorialized, shows photos of her dancing, hanging out with friends, enjoying the beach and snuggling a dog.
Her father, Fred Guttenberg, posted this on Facebook: “I am broken as I write this trying to figure out how my family gets through this.”
Christopher Hixon.Credit...Susan Stocker/South Florida Sun SentinelChristopher Hixon
Christopher Hixon, 49, the school’s athletic director, was a well-known figure in Florida high school sports. One man, Jose Roman, posted on social media that Mr. Hixon was “a great coach and an awesome motivator” when he was a freshman athlete years ago.
Mr. Hixon was named athletic director of the year in 2017 by the Broward County Athletics Association.
Luke Hoyer.Luke Hoyer
Luke Hoyer, 15, spent last Christmas with his extended family in South Carolina, where he bowled, joined in a big holiday meal and swapped stories with relatives.
A cousin, Grant Cox, who was at the Christmas gathering said the family had been told by the police that Luke, a freshman at Stoneman Douglas, was among those killed on Wednesday.
Mr. Cox said Luke was a basketball player who was ambitious about the sport and admired N.B.A. stars like LeBron James and Stephen Curry.
“I know Luke loved his family,” Mr. Cox said. “I know he did. He had a huge heart.”
“He was quiet, but a very happy individual,” he said.
Cara LoughranCara Loughran
Cara Loughran, 14, loved the beach. She adored her cousins. And she was an excellent student, her family said.
“We are absolutely gutted,” by her death, her aunt, Lindsay Fontana, wrote in a Facebook post. “While your thoughts are appreciated, I beg you to DO SOMETHING. This should not have happened to our niece Cara and it cannot happen to other people’s families.”
Gina Montalto.Credit...via Associated PressGina Montalto
Gina Montalto, 14, was identified in local news accounts as a member of her school’s winter color guard team.
Andy Mroczek, who has worked as a choreographer at Stoneman Douglas, posted a tribute to Gina on Facebook. “We lost a beautiful soul tonight,” he wrote.
Joaquin Oliver.Joaquin Oliver
People often spelled Joaquin Oliver’s first name wrong, so he went with a snappy nickname: Guac.
He played basketball in the city recreational league — his jersey number was 2 — and he loved to write, filling a notebook with poetry, said Julien Decoste, a close friend of Joaquin’s and a fellow senior at Stoneman Douglas.
“Guac and I always wanted to graduate together and prove everyone wrong, that we would be successful together,” Julien said.
On Tuesday, Joaquin, 17, asked Julien to help out at his next basketball game, which was scheduled for Thursday.
“I’ll be there,” Julien texted his friend. “Good looks brotha,” Joaquin responded.
On Wednesday, as he hid inside a closet during the shooting, Julien texted Joaquin to check in.
“You good?” Julien texted. “Bro I need you to answer me please.”
Alaina Petty.Alaina Petty
Alaina Petty, 14, had helped do cleanup work in Florida after Hurricane Irma, her family said in a statement, and she was an active member of a volunteer group with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
“Her selfless service brought peace and joy to those that had lost everything during the storm,” the family’s statement said. “While we will not have the opportunity to watch her grow up and become the amazing woman we know she would become, we are keeping an eternal perspective.”
Alaina was also a member of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, her family said.
Meadow Pollack.Meadow Pollack
Meadow Pollack, 18, was a senior at the high school who was planning to go to Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., next year, according to her father, Andrew Pollack, who said his daughter was among the dead.
“She was just unbelievable,” Mr. Pollack said. “She was a very strong-willed young girl who had everything going for her.”
Mr. Pollack described his daughter as smart, beautiful and caring. She worked at her boyfriend’s family’s motorcycle repair business.
“She just knew how to get what she wanted all the time,” Mr. Pollack said. “Nothing could ever stop her from what she wanted to achieve.”
Helena Ramsay.Helena Ramsay
Helena Ramsay, 17, was smart, kindhearted and thoughtful, her relative, Curtis Page, wrote on Facebook.
“Though she was somewhat reserved, she had a relentless motivation towards her academic studies, and her soft warm demeanor brought the best out in all who knew her,” he said, later adding: “She would have started college next year.”
Alex Schachter.Alex Schachter
Alex Schachter, 14, played the trombone in the Stoneman Douglas marching band, and was proud to have participated in winning a state championship last year. A freshman at the high school, he often played basketball with friends and was “a sweetheart of a kid,” his father, Max Schachter, said. Earlier this week, the two had discussed which classes Alex would take next semester.
Mr. Schachter said Alex had loved his mother, who died when he was five years old. His older brother also attends Stoneman Douglas and survived the shooting. Alex “just wanted to do well and make his parents happy,” his father said.
Carmen SchentrupCarmen Schentrup
Carmen Schentrup, a 2018 National Merit Scholarship semifinalist, was the smartest 16-year-old that her cousin, Matt Brandow, had ever met, he said in a Facebook post.
“I’m in a daze right now,” he wrote.
Peter WangPeter Wang.
Peter Wang, 15, a freshman, helped his cousin, Aaron Chen, adjust when he settled in Florida.
“He was always so nice and so generous,” Aaron, 16, said, adding that even though Peter was younger he had worked to be sure Aaron didn’t get bullied when he first arrived.
Peter was last seen in his gray uniform for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps, or J.R.O.T.C., on Wednesday. On Thursday, Aaron and another cousin said the authorities had informed the family that Peter was among those killed in the shooting.
“He was the kid in school who would be friends with anyone,” said the other cousin, Lin Chen, 24. “He didn’t care about popularity.”

Peacock and the Beast
Once upon a time, there was a young fella who just entered adulthood and is eager to finally explore the world on his own. He was entering the most fruitful time of his life, eager to taste the bittersweet flavours of romance that he had heard much about but was forbidden to experience being raised in an all-boys school. He was groomed to be honourable, to be righteous and to be a gentlemen. He dreamt of himself being the knight in shining armour, destined to meet his beautiful and kind princess by rescuing her from the darkness and riding into a bright future.
Often times in this world, the most beautiful beings are also the most deceptive. In nature, poisonous creatures such as caterpillars, snakes and jellyfish use bright colours to attract their preys. This is a proven law in this world, just look at the three prime colours, they create countless beautiful shades, but when mixed together, their true nature is revealed - black. Unfortunately the young men fell into the same trap when he met the first girl that came into his life. He has never met a girl this pretty before having grown up in a boys school and was blinded by her bright colours. He pursued her with sincerity and generosity and finally she belonged to him. Things were good at first and they planned a life happily ever after. He was a giver and built his happiness on her, he took care of her needs and showered her with care. She was appreciative at first but as time passed by, she became accustomed to the pampering and her true colour as a taker came to light.
She took advantage of his giving nature and took him for granted. She was unappreciative of him, he thought it was his problem and tried even harder to please her and found himself in a vicious cycle. Eventually he just became part of the household, like a piece of furniture, a carpet that initially received admiration for its comfort, provided warmth for the feet, but always stepped on and slowly forgotten. Until one day she decided to replace the carpet with new tiles, because warmth was boring for her and the new tiles were flashy, the cool sensations on the feet were too exhilarating to resist.
He was left with a void, his fair lady had became an evil fairy haunting him from his past, leaving him with a curse that he would never be the charming, honourable and giving knight he once was. Instead he became the Beast, one that lives in the dark and is ugly on the inside so no princess deserving of his love would ever come near him. His greatest fear is that he would die alone, knowing that the only way to avoid this is by finding the princess who would love him for who he is now so that he could return to his original form.
Despite the impossible odds against him, the Beast was not a quitter and with wills of iron, he was determined to break the curse. Fortunately for him, he did have one strength that could help him win the princess that would bring him back to his original nature, and that was - he is extremely leng jai...... Okay all jokes aside, it was because he had mastered the skills as a hunter. He was able to assess his surroundings like reflex, he could smell and see through body signals instinctively to identify vulnerable targets, he knew exactly how to make an approach without alarming the prey, he practised the art of seduction to lure his targets in, and he was fearless in going for the kill at the end. He was convinced that with these skills, he could win over a princess and not have to be alone for the rest of his life.
He started his quest to hunt down his princess in the crazy city where the fallen have gathered to party in the dark. Soon he found himself in a mix of different beasts in the hunting ground. There were scavengers who were the lowest of them all and would eat whatever is left, devouring the dead corpses that no self-respectful being would eat. There were foxes that would con and cheat the gullible young girls like rabbits into their schemes. There were fishers who would throw a bait out, often flaunting their wealth and attracting gold diggers with brain sizes comparable to a gold fish. We see a lot of fishers here, claiming to be hunters but not realising without the bait, they are nothing more than a stick. There were wolves that would hunt in packs which are admirable to outsiders because of the comradery until you realised they also share the easy girl who was weak like a sheep and they are in fact just dogs when outside of the pack. There were also monkeys who picks the low hanging fruit and brags to be a hunter, but just as fruits will never make it on the dining table, these girls are bland and will never satisfy a real beast’s appetite.
The Beast hunted alone as he had no interest in scavenging, conning, fishing nor fruit picking, he would never share his treasured princess with anyone too. He had success from the beginning, he would glance and scout the bar to find an attractive woman that interests him at first sight and move into her proximity to make his presence known. Keeping his eyes fixed on the target, he would wait for her to catch eye contact with him and reply with a smirk and her reaction would indicate her approachability. The approach is probably the most critical part of the hunt, the most ferocious predators always come prepared and approach with caution, take the cheetah for example, he would crouch and hide behind the grass, using his mesmerising spots as camouflage while getting into the optimal position and angle to charge, mount and penetrate with his sharp fangs. The Beast did exactly the same, he has practiced and overcame hundreds of objections without flaw, he has learned to hide his true intentions without lying, he has mastered the art of camouflaging with different identities and could direct interactions into exactly where he wanted. All that is left is to mount and penetrate.
He did this for years, mounting and penetrating numerous beauties but was no where closer in finding his princess. All the so called beauties were in fact takers who had no interest to know him for who he really was. They wanted what he represented - the flirtatious courting, the unknown anticipation, and the lustful ecstasy. Eventually he became numb and desensitised, becoming part of the darkness that surrounds him and began to embrace himself as a beast. Soon he was hunting not in the hopes of finding his princess, but purely for the ego and satisfaction of conquering the forest. The beauties were nothing more than supper to him now, their faces became vague and names forgotten.
Until one Friday night when the beast was once again out hunting alone. From afar he spotted a beautiful girl with the most confident radiance walking through the crowd towards him, she was of medium stature with feminine curves, she was well-covered in subtle yet eye-drawing outfit as the fabric hugs her body lightly, accentuating her perfect silhouette in the dark. Lucky for him her journey ended at the bar counter right next to him, her skin was perfect with luscious tone, her features were delicate with a perfectly straight nose, eyes that touched the soul and lips that were full and firm, all of these were arranged in the golden ratio on her oval-shaped face. He would typically have made a move at the sight of such attractive being but hesitated as there was something unique about her, she was in a socially open place with her friends yet she was comfortable in her own world, looking calmly and confidently ahead without any signs of insecurity. That signalled to him that any trespassers trying to intrude her world would not be welcomed.
He could see the animals drooling over her and one by one starting to make their way towards this precious creature and hoping to try their luck. One hungry fox got there first and tapped her shoulder from the side, she rolled her eyes to see him with her peripheral without turning her head and ignored him, he leaned towards her head and said his first words but she looked away as if he didn’t exist and had him leaving with discouragement. Then the bold eagle arrived at the sight of her drunk friend, he pecked and tried to get a reaction from them but was swooped away by her hand in his face insulting him with disrespect. The Beast knew they were doomed to fail and was trying to figure her out but realised he had to make a move soon before she gets fed up by all the other animals trying their luck.
He took a risk knowing he may well end up rejected like the rest of them. He leaned in along the counter so his face is in front of her and she could not avoid eye contact. He pointed to her drunk friend and asked jokingly “why are you sober?” She looked into his eyes with a slight pause and replied “Cause I am a peacock.” It was an unheard of expression that also made immediate sense for him, she was elegant, gorgeous and unwavering in her confidence. Knowing exactly what she meant, the Beast still asked her to clarify whether she calls herself a peacock because she was ready for mating in order to direct the conversation to where he wanted - about sex. She saw right through his intentions and answered with a simple no followed by a fierce statement that she does not want to talk unless he drinks 4 shots. The Beast knew she was out of his league and she was toying him so he left without any loss of enthusiasm in search of his next target.
They parted ways but the Beast always remembered the beautiful peacock at the back of his head. She was a creature that belonged on the bright heavenly skies, destined to fly freely with the birds, unreachable by the predators that pollutes the land. But she chose to come on the ground into the darkness, perhaps forced by a similar reason as the Beast, that she believed in the bright side but it had let her down. It was out of choice that she walks on the dark side, to revenge and instil fear on the unworthy beings with her seductive yet destructive strides.
And this, is how it all started...

Learning to Fly
Thanks for the lovely reviews last chapter, everyone! 37 days until Christmas (not counting at all)! If you haven't started shopping yet I suggest you do hehe. I hope you enjoy this part. Points of view will alternate as usual.
Synopsis: It's only three days until Christmas and flight attendant Caroline Forbes thought her day was going to be all candy canes, Santa Claus and carols until she meets an unusual passenger on a flight and soon realises there's more to him and the situation than she first thought. Chapter one HERE
"I'm learning to fly but I ain't got wings, coming down is the hardest thing…"
Chapter 2: So this is Christmas
Mollie Fontaine Lounge, Memphis TN – 22nd December
"Do you have some remote tracking device on me or something?" Klaus demanded, slamming his whiskey glass on the bar in frustration. He'd finally managed to break free from their over-protective clutches to enjoy some alone time and wasn't impressed to see them appear unexpectedly and ruin his evening.
"Believe me Rebekah tried but apparently it's like against the law or something," Kol drawled, signalling to the bartender for a drink.
"Not funny, idiot," she snapped, flicking her blonde hair over her shoulder and managing to whip his face in the process.
"Hey! Watch where you're throwing those coarse split ends."
"How dare you," Rebekah growled. If there was anything Rebekah prided herself on it was personal grooming. Klaus knew exactly where this was headed and figured the nearby patrons would much prefer jazz than a needless cat fight between his brother and sister.
"For the last time, I'm not some three-year-old that needs to be babysat twenty-four bloody seven," Klaus hissed. "The least you could do is leave me in peace, I think it's the least I deserve."
After landing in Memphis, Klaus had checked into his suite at the Westin then left immediately, headed towards Beale Street for some much needed live music. He'd loved jazz ever since he could walk and talk thanks to his grandfather and if he was going to be held hostage in the city by his family he might as well take advantage. Another reason had brought him there and it was to reminisce over the gorgeous, blonde flight attendant he'd come across on his flight into town. She had calmed his nerves unlike anyone else and Klaus hadn't stopped smiling since. He just wished that he'd been his usual smooth self instead of his emotionally inept flying alter ego. Klaus prided himself on his way with women and he'd failed miserably when it had come to her unfortunately.
There was no denying he was a nervous, if not completely neurotic, flyer. He'd been that way since his first family vacation to San Francisco at age eight. Given flying time was less than an hour and his dramatic reaction, his parents had been somewhat concerned. All vacations were kept closer to home after that trip, Mikael hated when his children made a scene and embarrassed him.
Every time he flew since then his mind was cluttered with 'what if' scenarios and he would find himself standing up then pacing back and forth down the aisle even during the seatbelt induced parts. It was like his body and mind were disjointed and Klaus couldn't control his actions. Given he was usually so confident in life it had thrown him and he'd vowed never to fly again until his unexpected inheritance had changed that particular promise.
"How did you find me anyway?"
"You are too predictable," Kol offered. "Come on Nik, live jazz? Do you think we're that stupid?"
"Obviously my expectations were stupidly low." What he hadn't expected were his nosy siblings tracking him down like he was some missing child who was the subject of an amber alert. He had to deal with them most of the time and craved some time away from the Mikaelson madness. Was that too much to ask?
"Nik, did you ever think maybe that we want to just hang out together?" Rebekah implored, lower lip extended for extra effect.
"You've been pulling that pathetic puppy dog look since we were kids, what on earth makes you think I would ever fall for it?"
"We're just trying to help, no need to throw it back in our faces." Klaus felt slightly bad knowing what they were trying to do but resented the fact he should need any assistance at all.
Growing up, he'd been the most outgoing, charismatic, intelligent and popular out of the siblings and bedded a new conquest pretty much every week. In fact, Klaus considered himself practically invincible until life had thrown him a curveball he'd never seen coming. He could still remember the unexpected news like it was yesterday.
It was Spring Break of junior year in College. Klaus had finished top of his graduating high school class in Los Angeles and had every Ivy League School interested but had chosen Yale. Although he wouldn't admit it aloud, Klaus wanted to put as many miles between him and his father Mikael as possible.
He'd returned home to visit his mother in Los Angeles. His siblings were spread far and wide at the time. Elijah was studying at Harvard, Kol a freshman at Princeton and Rebekah completing her final year of boarding school in Chicago. Klaus had been extremely excited for the quiet solace of an almost empty house given his raucous and tiring adventures at college. What he hadn't expected was to find his mother in such a vulnerable position on arrival.
"Your father died yesterday," his mother Esther sobbed. Klaus was immediately confused upon finding her crumpled in a heap in the family home. No one else was there, including his father who was in Phoenix for work. As much as he detested Mikael, Klaus knew that tyrant was still very much alive.
"Mum, he's fine, unfortunately."
"No, he's gone."
"I have no idea what you're talking about," he muttered in frustration, spying the empty spirit bottle and half full glass. "Did you take your back pain meds after one too many vodka martinis again?"
"I lied," she admitted sadly, her blue eyes brimming with unshed tears. Klaus was dumbstruck at first, unsure of what to say. It was obvious she'd been drinking but something in her tone was telling him she was deathly serious. "I'm so sorry, Niklaus."
"I think I should put you to bed," he said, attempting to move her towards the bedroom.
"No," she growled in defiance, pulling free from his grasp.
"Okay, if you don't want to go to bed, what exactly did you lie about then?"
"I was lonely and Mikael was…" Klaus swallowed knowing just what an ogre his father was. "And Ansel he cared about me..."
"Who is Ansel?"
"Ansel was your father." The life he once knew seemed to be unravelling in a split second. "And now he's gone," she murmured, taking a long sip from the glass.
"I don't understand, that can't be…"
"We had an affair before you were born." Klaus sat down running his hands through his dark blonde curls, unable to process what she was telling him. Was his whole life a lie? She moved towards him placing a hand on his shoulder, Klaus immediately shaking it off. The last thing he wanted right now was her of all people comforting him.
"Did Mikael know?" He managed to bite out, unable to look her in the eye. Given her betrayal all Klaus needed was the facts and not to see her cry.
"Yes," she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.
"I guess that explains why he hated me so much," he growled. Klaus always assumed he'd done something wrong given the way Mikael would belittle him unlike the rest of his siblings.
"Niklaus…"
"I've heard enough," he barked, standing to face her.
"But I want to explain…"
"How can I believe anything you say to me anymore?" He brushed past her before she could give him some feeble excuse and made his way to the door. Klaus never wanted to step foot in that house again, it was tainted for him now after all the lies he'd been fed there over the years.
Klaus shook his head, attempting to dislodge the memories before his siblings thought he'd completely lost the plot.
"Fine," he conceded, knowing that he'd been moody but given his current challenge it was hardly unexpected. "A round of drinks for my brother and sister. Speaking of brothers, where is Elijah? Don't tell me it's past his bedtime already?"
"You know him too well."
"He saw a girl half dressed and now he's down for the count, he really needs to get laid," Kol chuckled, earning a whack from Rebekah along with a steely gaze.
"What's going on, Rebekah?"
"Nothing, it's just something I don't want to be visualising right now and I don't think he wouldn't appreciate us talking about his…"
"Shortcomings?" Kol finished, his brown eyes lighting up mischievously. Klaus joined in, he'd already had his fair share of whiskey and after his day he needed some form of release.
"Well, now my attention is piqued, how and why did Elijah see a naked woman? The only possibility would be a strip club and we all know how he feels about them ad nauseam."
"He, uh, accidentally switched onto an X rated film in the hotel," Kol explained. "In true Elijah fashion, he's now concerned he'll be charged for the privilege."
"If that's the case, I insist on escorting him to check-out in the morning," Klaus chuckled. Sometimes life seemed so rough but it was these times he found some pure happiness with his siblings, even if it was at their own expense.
"Well, in that case we need to be out at six," Rebekah instructed. She always was the schedule planner in the family. "Our Delta flight to Denver leaves at eight."
"Delta?" Klaus asked, his enthusiasm coming across more than he'd hoped. If she was on his flight again, Klaus was suddenly buoyed by that fact, knowing everything might just be okay.
"Yes, Delta," Rebekah confirmed. "Sounds like you're finally a little excited about flying, Niklaus?" Klaus didn't respond, knowing that it was a predictable trap his sister liked to try and pull him into. Plus, he didn't know if he'd see her ever again, even if every fibre in his body was screaming for a reunion. Given it was almost Christmas, Klaus hoped his festive wish would come true.
