Arthur: Has anyone other than Mom ever told you they loved you?
Orm: Does my Father count?
Arthur: Sure, I guess so.
Orm: Then no.

i feel so funny knowing cas and jack's concept of human love is just sam and dean. like these celestial beings think the peak of human relationships is these two brothers psychotically weird about each other...case study for real. imagine how warped their understanding of humans is

i feel like the boys’ representation in “it’s a terrible life” is a really accurate and insightful look into how they work on an Instinctual level.
at first it seems like just a funny bit for dean to be the one dismissing the ghost thing, but dean wesson actually fits perfectly into dean’s personality. i mean, think about it. hunter dean is OBSESSED with the job. he lives breathes and sleeps hunting. he’s proud of who he is and what he does, and he enjoys being a part of something. this episode shows how that’s part of dean’s intrinsic personality. he needs order. structure. discipline.
sam is mischaracterized as ‘the emotional one’, but i think dean’s a lot more of a romantic than him. he likes the idea of a stable life, whether that’s hunting or a cushy corporate job. he wakes up at 6am everyday, has a distinct routine and a circle of friends. he does herbal detoxes and drinks frothy rice milk lattes.
life is a package for him. dean likes fitting in. he doesn’t like breaking status quo. he instinctively looks to blend in, whether that’s in a corporate environment or with his father and other hunters. dean likes the idea of family. connection. he needs people, people who are familiar and trustworthy. he’s very community/family oriented. he’s not a lone wolf.
but sam on the other hand, he’s intrinsically in tune with weird frequencies. he’s strange and he picks up strange things. he cares about people and appreciates connection but he values himself and his gut instinct more. he loves sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. he doesn’t give a fuck about blending in. he didn’t as a hunter so he sure as hell doesn’t in a goddamn tech support cubicle.
sam straight up tells dean that everything about this feels wrong. and you can TELL that dean feels it as well. sam tells him that he thinks he should be doing more, it’s in his blood, he hates everything about this fake life. but dean deflects. no matter how uncomfortable he seems he pushes it down in favour of predictably and routine. even if deep down, he knows its wrong, it takes him a lot more time than sam to admit it.
this shows that sam is more than ‘hunting bad’ and dean is more than ‘hunting good’. it was never about hunting. sam refuses to turn a blind eye. he WANTS to rebel. it’s his nature. he instinctively looks for things that don’t line up and he calls that out. he doesn’t care about the backlash. dean needs stability. he needs people. he needs to feel like he’s a part of something. it’s why he brushes off that feeling of wrongness so quickly at the beginning of the episode, because he’s willing to overlook some of the bad for the benefits.
it’s just like how hunter dean is willing to defend john, defend the grisly violence of hunting, and convince himself into thinking this is his only choice. sam refuses to do that. he instead latches onto that feeling of otherness and rebels even though it costs him family and familiarity.

How often do you guys think Buffy has had dreams about Faith that Buffy assumes are slayer vision type dreams but are actually just normal dreams?
Buffy waking up suddenly from a dream about her and Faith making out in a graveyard: Weird that there wasn’t any kind of vague and cryptic messages in that one. Wonder what the powers that be could possibly be trying to tell me? I better replay that dream over and over again in my mind so I can make sure I can remember every detail. To avert whatever new apocalypse the dream was trying to warn me about of course
Faith has probably given up trying to tell the difference between the slayer visions and her normal dreams about Buffy

In-universe, Springtrap does not speak during FNaF 3 because he can’t. After spending so long in the saferoom, he changed, and forgot a lot of things—speaking included.
After all that time, it was simply something he couldn’t do any longer—even if he occasionally tries. All you—or, specifically Michael on his shifts, would end up hearing, would be random noises from the rabbit.
And when he sees Michael, it’s been forever... and it’s also post-scoop, so when seeing the guard, Springtrap isn’t thinking: “Oh, that’s my son.” It’s just... someone in the attraction.
His voice seems familiar, however, but even then, it doesn’t initially click to him who this person could be—that it happens to be a family member.
By the time Pizza Sim rolls around, he’s speaking at that point—and it’s because post FNaF 3, as Springtrap was wandering, he taught himself how to do it again.

speaking of sharing one bed, one of my fondest memories is when i visited my friend cierra and brought her back to the hotel so that we'd stay up all night talking. my mom was already asleep on one of the beds, so we had to whisper and everything felt so intimate and secretive and fun
it got rly late and i could tell she was getting tired, but one thing abt me is that i never sleep first at a sleepover, so i told her we didn’t have to keep talking, we could pick it up later. but she made a challenge out of it. she said she didn’t want to “miss anything” and was going to stay up as late as possible until i tired myself out of talking, which we both knew wasn’t going to happen, but i accepted the challenge anyway
so i continued rambling abt god knows what, and i could see her getting sleepier and sleepier, but against all odds she was still responsive. i suggested that she should at least lie down, and i could keep talking until one of us (her) passes out. so she got in bed and i got on the little corner chair, and she was like why are you doing that. get on the bed.
my blood froze i won’t lie. i think i just dismissed it or smth bc she said “i don’t mind” and i told her “ik you don’t, but i do.” i have a huge thing abt touching and the thought of accidentally touching someone in my sleep makes me sick. and she knew that. but then she said “i can sleep under the blanket and you can sleep over it so that it creates a barrier. and i'm not making you sleep on the chair in YOUR hotel room.”
idk if she knows how much it touched (ha) me that she took that into consideration and how much i still think abt it. so we laid like that w me continuing my rambles and her responses getting shorter and mumblier. i started talking abt things i knew she didn't give a shit abt if only to hear my own voice as proof of my consciousness, and by 4am, i turned over and went “cierra?” to no response. so i told her goodnight and fell sound asleep over the blanket
anyway that’s the closest i ever lived out fanfiction

How tall are Ros and brothers?
You know what I find interesting? How much the ROs are conflated with the brothers in asks? Usually it’s a separate thing especially when considering how less presence the brothers have compared to the ROs very interesting indeed 🧐

After a while of being a doctor who fan (especially a gallifrey fan) you you get used to the weird names and stop thinking about the fact that they’re weird until you talk to someone else and they are like ‘what do you mean there’s a character named Narvin’

Hello!! I love all ur shuggy posts and i just wanna ask wats ur opinion of buggy being a clown? Or having the red nose? Do you think its a narrative device? Like is there significance as to why oda chose to use a clown motif to one of the apprentices of the rogers? Cuz like there is the importance of joyboy... JOY-boy, and what else is the profession that brings joy n sillines? Clowns 👀
I mean we dont even know wer buggy came from,, so idk if the red nose has lore or its just something that oda decided to do for funsies, i just wanna ask ur thoughts on dis cuz imo uve been very informative n rational w ur posts and this has been plaguing my mind😬
thank you!! informative and rational, huh? i almost feel like that should be my tagline at this point; it certainly seems to be a common theme in the anon compliments i receive.
the clown thing is tricky to get to the root of! from a doylist perspective, i think oda just wanted to draw some silly pirates, what with the clown/circus themed crew and the cat themed crew appearing in quick succession. (the potential clown man-joyboy connection is something i never considered before… i don’t know that i believe oda had joyboy figured out that early on, but if he did it’s definitely worth thinking more about.) watsonianly, i’ve said time and again that i believe buggy picked the clown theme in order to hide his most recognizable feature in plain sight—
but that doesn’t answer your question: why does he have that big clown nose?
honestly, i don’t have a clue. and i don’t think we’ve been given any hints in the text to pull theories from, so any guesses would be pure speculation on my part, and you know i don’t like to speculate wildly like that.
that said… here’s a few reasons we’ve been given for other op characters’ unique features. maybe one of these will turn out to explain buggy’s situation?
it’s a leftover, benign symptom of an obscure disease he had as a child
he’s a member/descendant of a tribe or family of similarly-featured people
it’s a simple, if rare, genetic mutation that made small-minded people dislike and avoid him
