okay obviously this is all speculation based off a trailer and we’re missing a lot of information BUT

the creaking have the potential to be such a good decked out monster if it wasn’t for One Fucking Flaw that ruins the whole idea

pros:

hostile mob that can be activated and deactivated with redstone

built in balance between being careful about keeping eyes on the creaking vs moving quickly through the dungeon to limit hazard/clank

moderate damage dealers, allowing for players to escape and recover, while still posing a threat to a player without armor

just… creepy! they’re scary! with some good sound and level design, it can be enhanced even more than the vanilla version

they can be activated and deactivated with redstone!!!!! do yall see the potential?!?!?

but with the biggest fucking caveat that THEY ONLY SPAWN AT NIGHT

i don’t want to echo the joke that mojang hates fun, because they really are doing a good job, but come on guys. please.

obviously the creaking as a do enemy depends on a lot more factors. how spawning works, even setting aside the night/day thing. how good their path finding/ai is. how they work in a more claustrophobic environment. whether other hostile mobs (like ravagers 👀) attack them

long story short, i am excited for the innevitable tango science stream and it’s a shame he’s on vacation, cause i’m curious about his thoughts

I'm pretty sure the AI ambulance said that Ruby's calendar age was 3082 years old, which begs the question of whether it was just counting her age from 2004 up to the future date, or if Ruby is a much older individual who was de-aged to a newborn without any memories (which there's precedent for with both the Master as Professor Yana and the Doctor as the Timeless Child).
