Wait wait. If, he's ignoring the Law of Equivalent Exchange, that would suggest it's not a law. I can't ignore the law of gravity or thermodynamics. If it's in fact, not a natural law, but more of a guideline or rule, that would suggest that alchemy is less scientific than you make it out to me and maybe a little more slotted in the magic column.
I would not argue this point so hard but for the fact that Ed is such an ASSHOLE about other people having faith systems and how cool and scientific alchemy is, when this is like the Law of Don't Do Bullshit. That's more of an ethical guideline, actually, and not a law. This is not a scientific natural law. I feel like I am losing my fucking mind here.
if you're sitting here going, "Hoilligay, PLEASE quite harping on how the equivalent exchange rule is ridiculously narratively flexible to the point of being insulting" PLEASE TELL THE SHOW TO QUIT DRAWING EXTREME ATTENTION TO IT. It's easy enough to ignore inconsistencies if a story does not insist upon them. Sure, whatever, i've read stuff before that breaks rules here and there. I don't always love it, but I can live with it fairly easily. But this keeps continually bringing my attention back to it, and telling me it is a real thing, while NOT MAKING IT A REAL THING. I feel like that fucking guy in the Monty Python skit with the dead parrot am I just losing it here?
Girl help.
Please read me before commenting or sending an ask! (i respect your right to be contrarian but bear in mind you’ve probably seen this anime 87 times and I am watching it virgin-style. There’s a link to the discord on the advisory)

Happy early Birthday! Congrats on another year older(soon). I’d love to get to know you better by asking questions for your birthday. That was a clever idea.
I really don’t know any good, interesting questions, but here we go anyway:
1. What is(are) you current favourite book and/or show? And what was(were) your first favourite book and/or show you can remember when you were younger?
2. If you could visit one place fictional or not without consequence, where would you choose? And on a side note, would it be a good place to have a birthday party? XD
3. Have writing and drawing always been some of your hobbies? And what are some your others that you find interesting?
4. Basic birthday question… What is your favourite cake flavour? And if you are like me and don’t like cake, what is your substitute?
5. Last question. I want to write you a gift fic for your birthday. What would you like for me to write for you? Tropes… Ideas… (Just note that the only fandom I know we share is fma)
Have a wonderful birthday!
thank you so much for sending your ask 🥹 and the birthday wishes! I hope yours was as magical as you wanted it last week 💖🫶🏻
okay, on to the questions!
Some of my favorite books and or tv shows! Funnily now, I don't read original books as much as I used to when I was younger, tho I do enjoy visiting and rereading my favorite seriess from when I was a young teen! If I saw another part of these series now that I dont own I would 100% buy it haha. My main three-book series are Dork dairies ( I own the whole collection!) Cupcake Diaries, ( I own all the books that my bookstore has 🥲.) and Whatever After ( up till book 7.)
I never was into the more famous book series, like Harry Potter or the Percy Jackson and his Pals series, even with us having these in our home library- for some reason they never interested me
As for Tv shows!! now that is an easier one 😌 Ages 4-8 The earliest favorite tv show that I could remember is Postman Pat and Strawberry Shortcake and Friends ( the 2009 show.)
Ages 9-11 of course as I grew older I fell in love with Sofia the first, Doc Macstuffines, Jack and the Neverland Pirates, and Handy Manny, and Heidi too, and wild Krats with odd squad!
when I turned 12 I fell in love with Ronja the thief’s daughter and the mysterious cities of gold, alongside little women and the Robinson family
14-17 As a younger teen, I loved loved loooved Young Justice alongside of different classics and the shows I liked as a tween.
17- now My young adult years I have enjoyed different animes such as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Mob Psycho 100, Ranking of Kings, Kaguya-sama love is war, Spy x family, and Attack on Titan. And different shows like When Calls the Heart and timeless! And because I babysit some kiddos I also enjoy watching kids shows 😭 I legit follow the story line bahaha
My favorite books as a kid were many many many short stories that I know that they can't be found online since they were probably written in my mother language and were on the older side, plus many of them here translated to my language and might have changed the titles, BUT, “ the sick bear” and the “the scared bear” and “ the pegion that wanted to drive a bus?” Yes these are some of the ones I recall finding them online and in different languages
OKAY, moving to where I would like to visit! That is a tough question 😂 I always like to imagine myself in different universes and myself in different shows and stuff- so no idea. BUT probably neverland in the Tinkerbell movies? Or maybe like, Resembool because it is so pretty. I love the soft happy villages 💛 and yes these places are good place for birthdays 😌
Writing has been a hobby, that my parents, nurtured in me, since I was such a talkative person, they used to encourage me to write! I loved drawing as a kid, and not as much as a tween/ early teens. I loved coloring more then. Same with writing actually, I got back to it in March 2020 and developed my own writing style! As for my other hobbies, I love to sew felt things and stitch, I also am a paper crafter, and I collect a crazy amount of papers haha. I like also building Legos and wooden 3D puzzles! I also like fixing books and currently I found an odd joy in cleaning?
Birthday cake! Alright so, Up till I was 14, I would ask for either my mom’s chocolate cake or, vallinia cake with green apples and caramel on the side, BUUUUUUTTTTT, when I turned 15 and up till now, I asked for a huge cookie for my cake haha, It all started when my mom and I went to a cookie shop and we saw these huge cookies and she jokingly said, “ what do you think? Your next birthday cake.” I was like, “ bet.”
And yea! These are it hehe, I would love to share more about myself!
I am the firstborn in my family, I have younger siblings! I share a room with my sisters, and my favorite colors are pink and peach, but I do like all of the colors heh, I used to wear glasses and I took them off this January! Currently fighting some Hyperthyroidism, I never had the chance to date yet, and I graduated the third on my class, ( looking at my chemistry teacher 😒)
I guess that is it! If anyone wants to get to know more I would love to answer your questions 🫂 have a good day everyone! Love ya
( also, can you guess how old I am from the fact I shared? 👀)

BRAID POLL !! :D
currently running :
ROUND 7 PART 4
Tumblr media
barbie as rapunzel ( barbie as rapunzel ) vs makoto kurume ( skip to loafer )
ICON BRACKET
ROUND 2 PART 1
Tumblr media
Edward Elric ( Fullmetal Alchemist ) VS Katara ( Avatar: The Last Airbender )
ABOUT THA ICON BRACKET : tha eight most iconic braid characters ( decided both by iconicness and tha amount of submissions they received ) will compete in an adjacent bracket . tha winner will then face off against tha winner of tha main braid bracket . this is liek what they do in sports , where certain teams get to skip matches and go straight to tha finals . this way icons can be included but its more exciting ( and fair ) than watching them decimate their opponents each round before making it to tha finals anyways
Tumblr media
entire 128 character bracket is too large to take a screenshot of but it looks liek this , and will ( obviously ) be done in sections . bracket list below tha readmore , straight down tha left side and then straight down tha right !! :D

Hellsite Nostalgia Tour 2023 Day 333
Golden Time/Can You Hear Me?
“Golden Time”
Plot Description: Sam’s efforts to help Eileen include a trip to Rowena’s old place, where and ambush awaits. Castiel goes it alone as he works the case of a missing boy
(I thought Eileen was DEAD dead)
Would I Survive the First Five Minutes??: I don’t know if she’ll die but I hope she does. *I* wouldn’t trash Rowena’s residence (end of sentence…but I also wouldn’t do it and expect to live). Yeah. She’s dead. I’d be ok
Cas is goin by Clarence again 🥺
Eileen got dragged to hell by the hellhound that killed her…ok…but like…i can’t remember if that’s a new rule from Chuck or whatever because they’ve definitely taken a soul from hell to send to heaven before. They rescued Bobby, why can’t they do the same for Eileen?
What IS goin on with Dean? His nihilistic attitude is irritating
They were so cute and deserved more than they got (San and Eileen)
Oh are there witches keeping an eye on this place? But like, in a bad way
Not to bring in Stranger Things but this woman whose son is missing and her relation to the town is very much giving Winona Ryder’s character
Sam! No!! You cannot possibly be proposing bringing Mary back again! One, you KNOW she’s happy in heaven and two, you’ve still just clearly never watched fullmetal alchemist. OH!! Bring EILEEN back. That’s a lot better, for arbitrary reasons.
Ah fuck. The ambush. One of the witches looks vaguely familiar but apparently we’ve never seen her
This mom is really testing Cas’s patience
Yeah, just looking at Emily, I can tell her sister (and probably mother, too) didn’t like her (Omg the actress was Bree in the Twilight series…she apparently was also in an episode in 2006)
They found her son! Oh and the sheriff is behind it all. Cas stabbing him to death was unnecessarily attractive
This best be three on three. Where are you Eileen?
Oh, no. Poor Emily 😭 I get that she was gonna kill Sam but she was a victim of her mother and sister’s abuse and deserved a longer life
Can a ghost choke out another ghost?? Neither are alive nor need to breathe
Why is your power fading, Cas??? I hate this
Castiel being at all happy makes me worried, and that sucks (12 more episodes til THE one)
I’m glad they at least allowed her to wrap a towel around herself before Sam turned around
Dean being proud of Sam and Sam needing Dean by his side to defeat god 🥹
(Ok but like I’m glad we got some explanation for why people were saying Sam ended up marrying Eileen off screen in the finale)
“Can You Hear Me?”
Plot Description: a cry for help from across the stars. Terrifying creatures in 1380 Aleppo. And in Sheffield, something is infecting people’s nightmares. The Doctor and friends investigate
That felt very first five minutes of a Supernatural episode, not Doctor Who
Does Chris Chinball not trust people to write their own episodes??
Oh, Doc. She doesn’t want to be without her friends for more than a few moments 😭 she wants to skip straight to tomorrow
Why’s Ryan’s friend need like five locks on his door?
Girl, who are you talking to?? Oh she just automatically assumes her companions are with her
Oh it’s like an especially jacked werewolf but weirder. HER SCREWDRIVER ISNT PICKING UP A SPECIES AT ALL??
I thought their nightmares were supposed to be invaded, they’re fully awake
Oh, Ryan’s friend is having the nightmares…and he’s seeing the dude from his nightmares all over the place. The locks make sense now
Yaz’s sister is an icon and a hero. I don’t care that she’s been fired from her last three jobs, sometimes customers need to be told they’re annoying. And she wasn’t afraid to tell them
What are Yaz and her sister…not celebrating but acknowledging with this dinner and a movie? I hope we get told
Oh that’s the guy from the TARDIS, and I’m sure that’s also the guy Ryan’s friend has been seeing in his nightmares
I didn’t know that guy ate an offshoot of the chop chop fruit! Still…I prefer Buggy to this creep, and it seems he can only remove his fingers and…do…something…
It’s not all the time that the Doctor takes someone from a time much much earlier than ours far into the future and to a different galaxy altogether
What if—I got really distracted by the fingers covering so much of this place. I have a bad feeling about the girl Graham wants to save, but that might be my previous experience this evening with ambushes
So this dude can create your worst nightmares if he sticks one of his fingers in your ear. Gross
Seems we’re getting bits and pieces of what Yaz and her sister were acknowledging in her nightmare
Ryan is getting flashbacks from orphan 55 combined with his friend guilting him for not being there
And of course Graham has Grace angry he didn’t save her while also being told he’s sick and dying
What the fuck did that girl do to this guy that he’s torturing her with EVERYONE’S nightmares?!
Ah, fuck. I knew she shouldn’t have been freed. All of what this dude did was a ruse to get the Doctor to free the more powerful immortal…these two bet each other on who could cause more death and destruction on two innocent planets?
Again with the finger to the ear 😑
Yeah, I figured hers would be about Gallifrey (and to a lesser extent I thought it would be about this subtle timeless child plotline)
I love Ryan so much. He had ZERO tact telling his friend where they were and how they got there. Fantastic
Interesting how the guy wants to immediately gorge on nightmares and she wants to savor them
I’m less and less impressed with his power especially after seeing her smoky tendrils collecting nightmares
Oh damn!! They managed to trap the immortals by using the girl from Aleppo’s nightmare creatures and the guy immortal’s fingers
Something is going to happen to this woman who’s come to help bring Yaz back home, isn’t it? Maybe not…why was this THE nightmare for Yaz?
This is literally the first time 13 has had this kind of one on one emotional conversation with a companion, and it’s Graham
I WISH we were gonna go see Mary Shelley, but that probably won’t happen

Note
I was ignoring you.. My personal life has been really preocupying me lately, that I've been too drained to say or do anything lately. So I haven't done so much since the last time we had our conversation.
But I'm back. Kinda.
~
I have been slowly getting into more Asian series.. Like I have always watched foreign movies but now I'm watching shows too. If I'm being honest, it really has taken me some time to start getting into lots of foreign shows because I'm not a fast reader at all.
I'll still watch anime in English. But I am branching out into watching some Asian media now, at least a lot more often for me anyway. But it takes me a few times to watch a show, or at least a scene, because sometimes the subtitles can be a bit fast for me.
Anyway..
Some Asian shows I've been watching lately? So I'd just finished rewatching Alice In Borderland again, I watched watched Sweet Home. Mask Girl was okay too. All Of Are Dead. And so many more series. A lot of Japanese and Korean series lately. I mean.. There are a lot more that I've watched lately, but that may be a long list if I listed every series. But there is a lot of shows I've watched, not just those shows.
But, as you can see, my genres in series does kinda slightly vary from time to time.. From action, horror, dystopian, thrillers, and any genres in between too.
Usually if I'm into crime series, usually those genres are criminal syndicate genres. Like mafiaesque.
And as for anime.. I do enjoy both versions of lots of series, for the most part. If the series that was really recreated. But it depends on the series though.
I enjoyed both versions of Fullmetal Alchemist but I am slightly biased to Brotherhood, just because the characters I like - some of the characters I like - just weren't in the original version. Which we've just said now. That's usually one reason why I enjoy remakes.
As for Black Clover.. That's how I am about certain characters. I tend to have mixed feelings about too many characters, especially Gauche, because of his obsession towards his sister. But that's just me. So.. Yeah. There's plenty of developments for characters and plot throughout the series, just different pacing though. But there's definitely enough development.
Obviously there are a lot of short characters. But I'll always feel like I can never find the short characters that are my height, besides the few characters I did just mention. Saiko (TG) and Charmy (BC) are really my height - so I'm definitely short, Runa (Kakeguri) is surprisingly shorter than me. And you being taller than me.. Yeah. You're taller than me. But, out of the women I knew, I've known girls who were nearly six feet tall (like Balalaika and Olivier). I know many tall people. Most guys I knew was way over six feet tall. So many tall people in my life... It's not even funny. I get always annoyed with them all the time about so many things. Especially teasing me at my expense.
~
Not really. I actually had to cancel any other plans for my birthday because of these personal reasons so I never had a chance to do anything else, now I'll say the motivation I had for these plans are gone so who knows when I'll have fun plans again.
But one thing I did. I actually splurged some money on myself, at least more money than I usually would anyway. But I really bought another new pair of Doc Martin boots, boots are platform heightened boots. Not that I don't love my short size! Because I do. But I've always wanted platform sized sizes ever since I was a mini "goth" child. I really hate labels.
Yeah. Hopefully I'll try colors with orange, but I have been enjoying the shades of blue. Actually.. I'll really be adding more blue shades within the next couple days, I'll be adding that electric blue that I wanted - the blue shade that was unavailable for my birthday so now I'll be adding that blue with the other blues.
💋
Ah its good to see you back! don’t worry about it, life happens, but I hope you’re doing better 😊
I’ve heard a little bit about Alice in Borderland! I’ve seen it around on Netflix… I think. Sweet Home I’ve watched before too, although i prefer the webtoon. is All of us are Dead the Korean zombie film? i also enjoyed that one, my friend recommended it to me last year. in general i love a lot of korean thriller shows, I think they really do a good job building suspense and acting it out. you might enjoy Vincenzo too, since I heard it’s action packed and has the mafiaso theme from what I’ve seen(?). it was a highly recommended film. Train to Busan and Kingdom also has that thriller/horror/zombie vibe as All of us are Dead, if you ever want to check them out 👀
Oh, and I finished Black Clover anime too! …and the movie… and the manga 😂 Starting it for Mereoleona was the best decision, she’s truly amazing. now it's just a waiting game for more content for her. charlotte and vanessa is also up there on my list of favs too. I have a lot of mixed feelings on a lot of the characters as well, and there’s some popular ones that i surprisingly dislike, but overall it has a decent cast and the plot is very fun
The teasing always come to us shorter people yes… so sorry to hear you have to deal with a lot of those :( splurging once in a while on yourself is always satisfying. especially if its something you've wanted for a while. i love how those boots look! and from the sound of it you seem to be rocking your blue hair too 💙

( yaya dacosta, she/her, spirit warrior ) to BELLADONA VIDANYA, the whole world looks like an open page. with a leap of faith, their ability of TRANSMUTATION MAGIC grows a little stronger. they’re pledged to the HOUSE of FRASER to defend the enchanted lands of cagliostro with their ENCHANTED POCKET WATCH. for TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY-SEVEN years, they have survived a world of magic with both their FORMIDABILITY and LETHARGY. they work as an ALCHEMICAL INVENTOR, but if they could change their fate, they’d want to SEE THE DEATH OF HER TRUE ENEMY.
Tumblr media
inspo includes the likes of the following: ramizel erlenmeyer of atelier sophie series, coffy of cowboy bebop, izumi curtis of fullmetal alchemist, cable of marvel comics, senju tsunade of naruto, urahara kisuke of bleach, flo of pixar’s cars, the doctor of doctor who, edalyn clawthorne of the owl house.
&. ⸻ BASICS
name — dr. belladona vidanya
aliases — don, donnie, bella, the doc, strong-arm alchemist, the amazon, etc
birthdate — may 17
zodiac — taurus
birthplace — kardia village
sexuality — panromantic pansexual
alignment — neutral good
temperament — choleric
element — earth
primary vice — sloth
primary virtue — faith
house — fraser
occupation — alchemical inventor, owner of the strong arm atelier
markings — several, mostly claw marks
&. ⸻ HEADCANONS
belladona is ludmila wilbell’s grandmother, though not by blood. she’s taken care to ensure ludmila is none the wiser, treating her exactly as she would her own child. ludmila’s true grandmother was a dear friend of belladona’s, tasking the alchemist with the care of her family upon her passing. and with don’s own child taken from her and an unwillingness present in pursuance of another, the time walker took well to the request.
belladona’s talent for alchemy comes from a long line of ancestorial backing. her family specialized, primarily, in biological alchemy.
her doctorate was awarded, rather than academically pursued, following her significant contributions in the field of research and science by way of her inventions.
for those who choose to become her apprentice, of which she’s had only a select few over her many years, they should be aware of the hard work and strenuous efforts ahead. she takes well to self-made worth, never one to believe in handouts, which is why she pushes her granddaughter and others as hard as she does.
her right hand has a tattooed transmutation array, permitting her the ability to use alchemical talents ‘on the go’ and in fluidity with her natural martial arts skill, resulting in seamless transitions from one form to the next.
she is a diagnosed narcoleptic, capable of sleeping anywhere, anytime. particularly in the colder months.
her great enemy stems from a specific family of time manipulators, determined to claim immortality for themselves by using underhanded and downright despicable actions. belladona has been secretly employed to face against them over the sprawling years, and has kept this entirely secret from those closest. she has allowed her life to span on as long as it has for this reason alone, to see their final defeat by her hands. since ludmila’s come into her life, however, she’s found herself with another reason to continue.
&. ⸻ BEAST MODE
chimera form — her uncle was a bio-alchemist who would eventually be responsible for alchemically splicing his niece, transforming her into what she is today — a chimera, or half human, half animal — for the sole purpose of having the power to do so, believing himself a god in his own right. she would not be alone in this change, as others were among her uncle’s ‘volunteers’ and subsequent failures. don would be among the few to survive and be considered a noted success. her unnatural strength derives from her beastly half, alongside a number of her other ‘quirks’ such as her tendency to oversleep and slather honey on everything. her breed, specifically, is a cinnamon bear. — for reference: here
&. ⸻ CURSE
temporal curse — there is an ongoing rumor she can grant immortality. she has never confirmed or denied this, but has yet to offer her knowledge on this freely and claims her youthful looks are entirely genetic. in fact, her youth is a product of a longstanding time curse, brought on by an enchanted pocket watch. it does tell time, but it also houses a part of her dual soul in a dorian gray painting sort of way. so long as it remains unbroken, her immortality and balance will mostly stay — allowing her to ‘jump’ through her personal timeline to manipulate aspects of herself including her age and sense of speed. years of abuse of this talent, however, has caused unnatural shifting, between forms and internally. her insides, specifically, have begun revolting against her as they do not operate the same as her external self, on account of the experimentation. stabilizing potions are often taken for this reason. if the watch is broken and the curse is lifted, she'll rapidly decay, turn to dust, and die. thankfully, or perhaps not depending on one’s interpretation, the watch itself is not easily damaged. and don herself would know this rather well. — for reference: here
&. ⸻ SPECIALIZATION
don is an alchemist who specializes in potions with property based manipulation, matter transmutation, and general craftsmanship and reconfiguration — primarily with weaponry and armor. as expected, her shop is full of mystical objects and scavenged material, with don herself responsible for quite a few of the magical artifacts and armaments of legend in the world. prosthetics are also well within her wheelhouse and tend to be heavily customized. her potions, specifically, range anywhere from vaguely medicinal to biologically disrupting to elemental or support-enhancing. sleep or disintegrating powders, strength and endurance building, etc. because of their range in ability, she tends to keep a few on hand regularly.
&. ⸻ THE ATELIER
a mobile alchemic workshop, known as the ‘strong arm’, that resembles a half house on large, muscular chicken legs. the shop is enchanted to appear bigger on the inside and will never turn up in the same place twice. streams of greenery and branches grow freely, aiding its disguise around selphia. it also doubles as a well-furnished home for belladona and ludmila, with protection spells and a security system in place for any possible intruder.  — for reference: here ( legs ) + here ( actual shop )

top five worst movies you've ever seen
oh this is gonna be fun. ive def seen worse movies than some of these but this is going off of recent memory
1. the live action fullmetal alchemist movie. this has to go first bc i remember i watched it w my friend to make fun of it but we were getting bored. i said 'well it seems like its almost the end'. we were halfway done and forced ourselves to finish (which was probably the wrong choice)

Hey I love your blog! I’d also love to hear your thoughts on how everyone turned to stone in Dr. Stone, if not that’s fine :)
-💎
(*DISCLAIMER: THIS POST IS OLD AS HELL AND ALSO WRONG IN SO MANY WAYS, PLEASE IF YOU READ IT TAKE ALL OF IT WITH A GRAIN OF SALT, I’VE LEARNED THE INCORRECTNESS OF MY WAYS AND WILL BE REDOING THIS IN THE FUTURE. I WILL LINK THE BETTER ONE ONCE I’M DONE WITH IT*)
HELLO LITTLE GEMSTONE, I'M GLAD YOU ENJOY MY BLOG AND THANKS FOR THE ASK!!!!! (I'm so sorry this took so long to post)
Anyway, this is super weird considering I have a Google Doc with things I want to write for this blog, and this topic has been sitting on that doc for almost as long as I’ve watched the show….
Whatever!
So I had a few theories that I'd thought up while writing the original post as well as for this ask (those theories being calcification, fossilization, alchemy, or just straight-up magic). But as I did some research—primarily on the petrification page on the Dr. Stone Wiki (read at your own risk, there are MAJOR spoilers)—it turns out that there is a lot more to petrification than what I thought.
The first thing I'd like to mention is the chemical makeup of the stone involved with this process. The wiki says that the stone is mostly made up of "iron with trace amounts of gold. The rest is carbon and nitrogen." These two sentences completely destroy at least two of my theories.
Calcification is "a process in which calcium builds up in body tissue, causing the tissue to harden" That's about as simple as I could find, and was an explanation that I actually understood. Even though I was super excited about doing more research about this, turns out it's obsolete, considering the stone is not, in fact, made of ANY CALCIUM.
The other theory that has been destroyed was alchemy. I was super excited for this one cuz I could show off my love of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood... but that doesn't work anymore.
Tumblr media
My main line of reasoning for this had to do with Greed's Ultimate Shield and how Edward dismantled it. When Greed shows off his Ultimate Shield to Edward he brags about its strength and Ed figures out that if he rearranges the chemical makeup of the shield—which is made of carbon—he can significantly decrease the strength. Cuz carbon can be as weak as pencil lead or as strong as literal diamonds. So I was like "hey, maybe there's some mass alchemy or something going on that hardens people's bodies into a stonelike substance." But, once again, the makeup of the stone and the human body kind of don't agree with each other. The human body (average height adult male) only has about 4 grams of iron in it. This means that Alchemy is out of the question.
After discounting two of my theories (sorry, I just wanted to share my thoughts, even though they don't really add anything to this post), the only two left are fossilization (again, I know very little) and magic. I'd much prefer science over magic, but at this point, I don't know how easy it's going to be to prove that there is ANY science involved here. Which, honestly, is a bit strange considering the entirety of Dr. Strange (at least season one, which is all I've seen up to this point) is basically a science lesson.
So let's try to prove my last theory (I don't know how well this is going to go). My last resort is fossilization. Apparently, there is a type of fossilization called petrification—which is encouraging. Petrification is a VERY long process that involves lots of decay and minerals sneaking into the body and replacing what was decayed. The fun thing is, most of the time the minerals that decide to infiltrate the body are quartz, calcite, or IRON COMPOUNDS!!!!!!
So either the bodies were fossilized (petrified) at an EXTREMELY high rate, or there's magic involved.
The bigger question is how did this actually happen. Like the process of fossilization (from what I've found) can take from 5,000 to 10,000 years. And in Dr. Stone, it happens in a matter of seconds. Something about this doesn't add up to me...
In Dr. Stone, Senku tries to figure out what the frick happened and has some of his own theories: a virus (not likely), a weapon developed by another country, or aliens. I doubt anyone on earth nowadays—or in 2019—has the technology that would allow them to forcefully petrify everyone on Earth in seconds. So honestly, it's probably aliens (starting to sound like Ryan Bergara here...)
TL;DR

3, 5, 7 for Writer's Asks ✍📚
I already answered 3 in another ask, so I’ll do 5 and 7.
5.) What project do you plan on focusing on this year?
HA! HAHA! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. I am SO BAD at focusing. When I spend too long working on a single fic, I wind up getting more easily distracted, and my writing gets slower and slower until I wind up flitting off to a new project. It’s why I started so many WIPs last year. So I can’t really say I’ll be focusing on any one project this year, because that just doesn’t happen. But I will say that I want to spend the early part of the year focusing on closing out a couple of my fics that are nearly done (after I finish this RSS pinch-hitting fic). Breaking Cycles, my Belle/Lachlan MacAldonic fic, is the first thing I started writing in over 15 years. I started it in July of 2020, and I’m about 4 chapters away from finishing. I’m a similar length away from finishing Trinity: three chapters and an epilogue. If I can have four fics wrapped up by the end of March… well, that’s a pretty damn good note to start the year off on.
7.) Do you plan on reading any books this year?
Tentatively, yes. Right now, I’m having a hard time using my leisure time for anything that isn’t writing, because I feel guilty for not cranking fics out quickly enough. But I also don’t want to burn myself out, so when I’m too tired to write, I try to close the Google doc and relax. But usually relaxing comes in the form of playing a video game or watching TV. So if I do read, anything I read needs to be something quick and easy. Currently I’m reading the Fullmetal Alchemist manga, so I’d like to finish that. If I could find a complete collection of the Animorphs books online, I’d love to finally finish reading that series, as well. Once my health improves and I have the spoons for a new fandom, Discworld is on my TBR list as well.

I don't read or watch violet ever garden cause i follow you mainly for the nice pictures you'll post or reblog from time to time so forgive me if you already answered this but im just curious. So how did you get into evergarden? Thanks
Omg, thanks, haha. I do think someone already asked me that before, a year or so ago. But didn’t really go into detail back then, so here’s the long answer. Apologies for the wall of text.
I got into the novel about half a year after it was published. It came out in December 2015, and a commercial based on scenes from volume 1 was released back in May 2016. I already knew about the novel because I follow the publisher on Twitter, and I was very interested in it because it was the first and still only winner of Kyoto Animation’s grand prize. Other than that, the premise seemed very promising. There was just one thing that sort of left me sitting on the fence about trying it out or not: Violet looked like a copycat of Saber from the Fate series.
Yes, I was in the Saber Clone Joke Club TM.
I wasn’t put off by that, honestly, but it left me with the impression that VE was gonna be a Fate Series fanfiction and I wasn’t sure what to think of this. Nowadays, I know very well that it is indeed a Fate Series (+ Fullmetal Alchemist and Gunslinger Girl) fanfic with a sprinkle of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, which is exactly why it’s so damn good, but 2015 me had no idea if she should invest on that mattress fire, so she decided to wait for a cue.
I’d completely forgotten about VE by the time that the commercial came out. And my dudes, that was such a breakthrough. I immediately made my mind and went to the novel’s official site to read the first chapter (it’s up online as trial reading until this day). As anyone can tell, I loved it. It was by far the most well-written light novel I’d ever come across.
I did some research after reading it and found out that, despite the popularity of the commercial (it has nearly five million views on YouTube now) and all the hype for the novel to spawn an anime series, no one had attempted to translate it. There was only a document on google docs with chapter 1 google-translated, and as you can probably guess, it couldn’t even be called a translation. Nothing made sense.
I had never translated a novel before until then, but I was totally fired up after watching the commercial and reading the first chapter. I really wanted to share this masterpiece with the world.
I had no way to buy the novel since KyoAni doesn’t ship to overseas and acquiring it through a proxy would be mad expensive, but I still wanted people to at least be able to read chapter 1 and have even more fans looking forward to the anime (believe it or not, I was super stoked for an anime adaptation back then... silly me). So, yeah, I indulged myself translating just Oscar’s story, and it had a much bigger repercussion than I imagined it would. I seriously wasn’t expecting that amount of attention.
When I posted the translation, I did kinda wish that someone with access to a physical copy would purchase the novel and ask me to translate the rest, but it was just a far-fetched pipe dream at the back of my head... or so I thought, lol. It did happen that someone from the western side of the fandom had bought the book, but he’s a non-Japanese speaker and was looking for someone who could translate it. He found my translation of chapter 1, so he offered to lend me his copy as long as I translated it in return, but he made clear that he wouldn’t be able to pay me for it. I immediately accepted to do it for free. Some people might say this was stupid of me, but I consider the fact that I got to read the book without buying it myself (which would’ve taken a huge toll on my pocket) as my payment. This was a surprise for the guy, who nowadays is a good friend of mine, because he had been told that no one would do it other than as a paid commission.
Needless to say that my love for VE only grew after I translated the rest. And that’s it! That’s the whole story.

9, 11, 31 🙃
9. Which character(s) do you find most difficult to write? Freakin’ Doc Roe! The man is all voice, I’m struggling! Another one that is a bit challenging is Speirs. I find myself re-watching his scenes a lot to get a sense of his inflection and pacing.
11. Who or what do you find yourself writing about the most? In this fandom, it is no secret that Dick Winters is my dream man and so I write him a lot. But I swear I’m willing to write others if people request them! Subject matter is pretty basic, I’m a fluff kinda gal! No matter what fandom, I love writing domestic fluff! I am also partial to hurt/comfort
31. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them! Well, my Dick x Nurse!Reader was originally planned to be an OC. One I worked on for years, but I decided to change to a reader insert because that’s what I saw a lot of on tumblr. I’m considering going back and rewriting because that was my dream fic, and I was slightly gutted to take out my OC.  I have another that I’m planning for a ballroom dance competition fic. She doesn’t have a name yet, but she is like...very cute and fun. Charming and unknowingly flirtatious.  In other fandoms, I have OCs that I worked on for years. I have my LotR OC, Soriel, who is an elf from Lothlorien and because I was in high school she was of course a tenth walker in the Fellowship and all that jazz. I actually love her and her story is up on AO3. I have a Fullmetal Alchemist OC, Bea, who has a really, really long story and several spinoffs that I’ve never published because it was just like...too much. But she’s super cool. Soriel and Bea are the two OCs that I’ve put the most time and effort into over my years in fandom (which is like well over a decade now).
Anyway, I’m rambling. Thank you for the ask, love!

THE GIFTENING 2019: Jet Wolf’s Nomination Run-down
Last year, people said they would have liked to know which of the nominations I’d seen, or knew about, or liked, or didn’t like, etc. etc. I HEAR YOU. Under the cut, you’ll find all the nominees in every relevant category (anime, non-anime animated, live action, movies, games), and a couple of brief notes on my familiarity (or lack thereof) and general feelings on the thing.
YOU NEED NOT CONSIDER ANY OF THIS BEFORE MAKING YOUR VOTES
I’m putting the info out there for those who’ve wanted to know, but that information is relevant precisely as much as you want it to be. I can and will liveblog something I hate, I can play a game I’ve played twenty times before. THE GIFTENING is for you, and while I won’t lie (I won’t pretend to like something I don’t, I won’t feign surprise at a twist on my 21st playthrough), I’ll happily provide whatever entertainment in whatever way I can.
Also please note that if I don’t like something, that feeling comes with no value judgement. My disliking a thing reflects only on myself. So if you see I’m not a fan of something, or don’t think I’ll like it based on what I’ve seen or heard, please keep in mind there’s nothing personal toward in you at all in that. AND HELL I COULD BE WRONG FEEL FREE TO TRY AND SHOW ME
Anyway, enough with the blah blah. Join me under the cut if you care to know!
Anything marked only with ** means I haven’t seen/played it nor have any particular thoughts or opinions to share.

Magic Knight Rayearth - Watched this back in the day and haven’t watched a single second since. I REMEMBER LIKING THE BLUE ONE
Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha - Someone sponsored this liveblog for a while! (liveblog here) It was doing some really interesting things with kids burdened with all this world-saving shit, I thought.
Magical Girl Pretty Sammy (TV not OAV) - I know this is a Tenchi Muyo! spin-off (watched some Tenchi back in the day), but I’ve never seen it. Magical Girl Raising Project - Seen the whole series, and really quite enjoyed it.

Project A-Ko - Among my earliest of anime experiences. A classic. A weird, weird little classic.
Re:Creators  **
Read or Die (OAV)  **
Revolutionary Girl Utena - I’ve no doubt my time of fully diving into this anime is approaching, but thus far, I’ve only nibbled at the edges. I know there’s shit here, there are too many people into it. MOSTLY THOUGH I’M STILL CONFUSED ABOUT WHY THERE WAS A KANGAROO (previous liveblogs here)
Rose of Versailles - It’s a historical anime and I think there are lesbians?
Samurai Pizza Cats - I could have this wrong, but I think this is a dubbed anime that’s hilariously unconcerned about anything involving the actual translation and plot? And it’s about cats that deliver pizza? I think there’s a crow that’s the bad guy or something?
School-Live - I know the general premise and watched the first episode ahead of Doc’s Eight Days liveblog of it. What I know has intrigued me.
Serial Experiments Lain - I watched this waaaay back when. Bought it on DVD! Still have them! I cannot for the life of me remember how I felt about it.
Slayers - Another I watched a bit back when! Found it to be generally okay, but it was like twenty something years ago because I am an old.
Snow White with the Red Hair  **
Suite Precure - See previous Precure notes
Sweetness and Lightning - I got this as a Wildcard a couple GIFTENINGs ago, and found it to be CHARMING AS FUCK. I’m still mildly concerned it’s going to go creepy and weird on me Because Anime, but otherwise, I had a great time. (previous liveblog)

Non-Anime Animated
Adventure Time - Seen a lot of it pass my dash, I know there’s a yellow dog that can be things, and the vampire and the pink one are gay.
Anastasia - Just livestreamed the movie with Holligay for Eight Days! I’ve no particular feelings toward it otherwise.
Archer - I KNOW IT’S ADULT
Barbie: Life in the Dreamhouse - This has been nominated every single GIFTENING, I think, and while I’m no closer to knowing what this is actually about, the persistence is inspiring.
Bob's Burgers - Great show! Seen many episodes! I think it’ll be hard to liveblog in a meaningful way.
Bojack Horseman - I’ve seen through season three. EXCELLENT SHOW
Captain N - What the fuck I think I used to watch this on Saturday mornings

Castlevania (2017) - I’ve seen a couple gifsets, that’s it.
Chuggingtons - WHY DO YOU PEOPLE HATE ME

Cyber Six  **
Daria - It was a Beavis & Butthead spin-off and that immediately killed all interest for me.
Donkey Kong Country (TV series)  **
Ducktales (2017) - I know a lot of people love them, but I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of the Disney ducks, generally speaking.
Epithet Erased  **
Ever After High  **
Gargoyles - Saw the first multi-part episode in a livestream a year or so back. It was pretty standard 90s cartoon stuff to me just from that, but I know it’s well-loved.
Generator Rex  **
Gravity Falls - Currently liveblogging for the Patreon! LOVE IT. I’m not sure we’re outside the exclusivity window for it, but if it makes it into the second heat, I’ll figure out how to go from there.
Green Eggs and Ham (series) - Wait, what the hell, this is a series? HOW DO YOU MAKE THIS INTO A SERIES
Green Lantern: The Animated Series  **
Harley Quinn - Loved the clips I saw of the first episode! Did not love the antisemitic clips I saw of the second episode!
Hazbin Hotel  **
Hilda   **
Home Movies - The few clips I’ve seen were hilarious.
Infinity Train  **
JEM - MY LOVE. It’s desperately 80s and objectively poorly done in places and I adore it with my entire being.
Jonny Quest  **
Kidd Video - I feel like I SHOULD know this, but I can’t place it.
Kim Possible - I’ve heard of it!
Klaus  **
Mao Mao Heroes of Pure Heart  **
Moominvalley (2019) - I know Moomins are those little white hippo things. I am pure confusion beyond that.
My Life as a Teenage Robot  **
Over the Garden Wall - I did a couple episodes for my Patreon a few years ago, and have since finished watching the whole series. I’m up for a rewatch!
Rugrats - I know of it, but have only watched the Hanukkah special.
RWBY - Heard of it! I had the impression it was pretty queerbaity? (don’t quote me on that)
Samurai Jack - I know the premise, but never watched the series
She-Ra (80s) - YES I KNOW YOU
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power (2018) - Love it, love it. I still haven’t seen the most recent “season” (it’s a half season don’t jerk me around Netflix)
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse - I am a long-time comic book nerd and quite familiar with the Spider-Mans. Saw the film shortly after last year’s GIFTENING and enjoyed it.
Star vs the Forces of Evil - Had a liveblog of this for THE GIFTENING a few years back and it was okay, but I wasn’t super impressed. (previous liveblog)
Super Friends - I FUCKING HATE THE SUPER FRIENDS I SEE YOU HUBBY
Tangled: Before Ever After - Saw the movie, never seen the series!
The Animals of Farthing Wood  **
The Dragon Prince - I’ve heard Tumblr chatter in a general sense, but no details.
The Hollow  **
The Loud House  **
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show  **
Thundercats - I fucking loved Thundercats as a kid, hahhaha, there is no way it holds up.
Totally Spies - I’ve had several Patreon livestreams with the show, so have a pretty good general sense of the show at this point. I’m not sure it’d make a good liveblog, though.
Venture Brothers - I think it features a blond buff dude in a black t-shirt?
Wakfu (French dub) - Oh hey, this was a free to play game at PAX one year! That’s it, that’s all I know.
Winx Club  **
X-Men: The Animated Series (90s) - DID SOMEONE SAY X-MEN??? I love this show. Hubby and I still to this day quote this show. This show is not good.
X-Men Evolution - Evo, on the other hand, is EXCELLENT. One of the single best incarnations of the X-Men, in my opinion. Seen all eps multiple times, love it, can talk for a hideously long time about details you never in your life cared about, will probably not make it through an episode, please consider if that is a point for or against it before you vote. (previous liveblog)
Live Action
Agent Carter - Saw the Captain America movie, that’s it!
American Gods - Read the book
Atypical - I know the premise very loosely, and it sounds good, but I’d be a little concerned about accidentally stomping in all the wrong places with my giant clumsy neurotypical feet.
Babylon 5 - I know it’s a sci-fi classic, and I’ve been assured there are characters I would love, but haven’t seen it.
Batman (Adam West series) - A SERIOUS LIVEBLOG WILL RESULT I’M SURE
Black Mirror ("White Bear") - This episode still fucks with me to this day. It’s exceptional, and also very very complicated. This would be a heavy liveblog, be warned. (previous Black Mirror liveblogs)
Brooklyn 99 - I’ve only watched a bit of this and enjoyed it, but like most sitcoms, it’s incredibly difficult to liveblog. (previous liveblog)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - One of my live’s greatest televisual loves. Joss Whedon and time have mostly driven that out of me, but letting my ego out to play for a second, I have to say, I give some pretty good Buffy. (previous liveblogs)
Cagney & Lacey - A formative favourite for tiny baby Jet Wolf! It’s a cop procedural, with all the downsides that implies, but also it’s lady cop BFFs AND I LOVE IT AND THEM
Carmilla - A current staple of the blog, thanks to @cello-moon! I’ve just started Season 3, and if you’re a regular around here, you know how all this goes. (previous liveblogs)
Charmed (1998) - I know of it, very very loosely, but never watched it.
Charmed (2018) - Also loosely known, but even less so!
Cloak and Dagger - I’m burned out (and just burned) from Disney’s Marvel garbage, but I know Cloak & Dagger from the comics, am that only makes me more surprised this show exists.
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend - I never picked this back up after THE GIFTENING, but had a great time with what we watched! (previous liveblog)
Critical Role (The Night Before Critmas one-shot) - I haven’t seen this one shot, but I DO love me some Critical Role.
Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance - We watched the whole series, and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. PODLINGS ARE VALID AND HUP IS THE MOST VALID OF ALL
Dear Friends **
Derry Girls - Watched the whole thing a couple times now, absolutely adore it. One of the best shows I’ve seen in a while. Once again though, comedies can be SO hard to liveblog.
Dinnerladies **
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - I’ve heard of the book series?
Doctor Who - I’ve tried SO HARD to like Doctor Who, and yet.
Doctor Who (City of Death serial) - See above, no thoughts on this serial specifically.
Elementary - I’ve seen the first three seasons, I think it is? They began to lose me with some season choices, but I love Sherlock and Joan SO MUCH.
Farscape - I watched the series when it was first on The Sci-Fi Channel, but they kept jerking the schedule around and it fell off my radar. Quite liked it though, as I recall.
Galavant - I SUPER BELIEVE IN YOU TAD COOPER (previous liveblogs)
Good Omens (miniseries) - Read the book and survived the miniseries consuming Tumblr, but didn’t watch it myself.
Hannibal - I remember when this was EVERYWHERE, but mostly I remember that it was very gay and had that guy from Rogue One in it.
Hellier  **
His Dark Materials - Haven’t watched it, haven’t read the books, I know nothing!
Kamen Rider (1971, ep 1)  **
Kamen Rider Fourze  **
Kamen Rider W  **
Kanpai Senshi After V  **
Killing Eve - I’ve seen some photo and gif sets, but haven’t watched it. I think they’re trying to murder each other? But also fuck? IT’S VERY CONFUSING
Legends of Tomorrow - I know it’s a DC show, and I think it has something to do with time travelers?
Leverage - I just watched and streamed my first two episodes last night on Patreon! Quite enjoyed it, more than I expected to.
LOST - Until proven otherwise, I’ll assume this was a troll nomination. GOOD GOD I HATE LOST
Lost Girl  **
Love Island (season 3)  **
Maho Sentai Magiranger  **
Midnight Dinner: Tokyo Stories  **
Murder She Wrote - Actual lol, I have no idea why this was nominated, but I love it and also you. ANGELA LANSBURY ON TV WE ALL WIN
Murdoch Mysteries  **
Once Upon a Time - The premise is fairytales all smooshed together I think?
One Day at a Time (2017) - I’ve watched all but the most recent season, I think. Good show, very enjoyable, but mostly “watch and forget” for me.
Orphan Black - Currently liveblogging, thanks to @skylineofspace! I’m currently on episode 4, and absolutely loving it. (previous liveblogs)
Parks and Recreation - I’ve seen all but the last season, I think. Great show, but once again, I’d expect a difficult time liveblogging it.
Pushing Daisies - Never seen it. I think it’s about someone whose touch kills?
Re:Mind  **
Russian Doll - Never seen a single second, but I’ve heard nothing but good things through the grapevine.
Sapphire & Steel - HUBBY’S TROLLING ME AGAIN. This is an oooold old old English sci-fi/horror show that I used to watch when I was a tiny tiny Jet Wolf and it scared the shit out of me. I’M STILL MILDLY TRAUMATIZED BY IT TO THIS DAY
Schitt's Creek  **
Sense8  **
Shanara  **
Smash  **
Star Trek: The Next Generation - I love me some Star Trek. I’ve seen all of TNG, but haven’t sat down to fully rewatch the series ever, so most I only saw when they first aired.
Stargate SG1 - I think this is based on a movie I also haven’t seen.
Tantei no Tantei  **
Terrace House  **
The Good Place - OKAY SO THE GOOD PLACE. I watched the first two seasons and LOVED THEM. Mostly. I DO NOT love the Eleanor/Chidi thing. I do not love it to the extent that it completely sucked out my desire to continue with the show. I haven’t seen anything of it past the S2 finale. (previous liveblog)
The Haunting of Hill House - Watched and enjoyed the whole miniseries. I confess to being uncertain about liveblogging this though, as I feel Doc is doing it so much better than I could hope to do.
The Magicians & The Crown  **
The Mandalorian - I KNOW BABY YODA BECAUSE I AM A PERSON WHO EXISTS IN OUR MODERN WORLD (that is all I know)
The Middleman  **
The Tick (2016) - I know and enjoyed the cartoon!
The Untamed  **
Twilight Zone - Who doesn’t know the Twilight Zone, it’s a fucking classic for a reason.
Twin Peaks - Believe it or not, I have never seen a single second of Twin Peaks. I know it’s weird, I know Laura Palmer is dead, I know functionally nothing else.
Ultraman X  **
Westworld - Haven’t seen it, though I believe it’s loosely based on the movie of the same name which I HAVE seen.
What We Do in the Shadows (series) - I’ve seen neither the series nor the movie, but know it’s Taika Waititi and is reportedly hilarious.
Worst Cooks in America - WAIT AM I IN A TV SHOW
Xena: Warrior Princess - My OTHER great love. Adore Xena, adore everything about it (well, mostly), have devoted a not insignificant amount of my heart and brainspace to Xena, if you have me talk about Xena I may never shut up. (previous liveblogs)
Movies
Arrival  **
Atomic Blonde **
Barbie's The Princess and The Pauper **
Bedknobs and Broomsticks - Saw it a million years ago, remember functionally nothing.
Best in Show - Also seen a very long time ago, just the once.
Bohemian Rhapsody - I love Queen and Freddie Mercury, and I had exactly zero interest in watching this film.
Brave - A Disney/Pixar movie I actually liked!
Cabaret - I haven’t seen the film, though I did see the stage musical, and it fucked me up pretty hardcore for a while there. (Do not let that dissuade you from voting for it! I’ve been wanting to watch the movie. Trump had just been elected when I saw it performed AND WELL THERE WERE THINGS)
Captain Marvel - Haven’t seen it, but it’s one of the few later stage Disney/Marvel offerings I’ve had any interest in.
Captain Underpants  **
Carrie (1976) - ANOTHER SUPER OLDIE I’M SO DELIGHTED. I’ve seen it as well as read the book (both a very long time ago)
Castaway on the Moon  **
Cats (1998) - hahahah I SEE YOU YOU ASSHOLES
Chocolat  **
Clue (1985) - One of my personal favourite movies, though I did stream it not too long ago for my Patreon.

Crimson Peak  **
Dale and Tucker vs Evil - I’ve never seen this, but have wanted to.
Detective Pikachu - Saw this in the theater, and I’m still not sure if I actually enjoyed it or not.
Equestria Girls Rainbow Rocks - THIS IS A MY LITTLE PONY THING ISN’T IT
EVA  **
Fate/Grand Order: First Order  **
Flash Gordon - Delicious, cheesy fun.
Frozen 2 - I won’t be able to stream this if it’s not been released when it’s GIFTENING time, so just keep that in mind. Also please note that I have not seen Frozen 1. I only just, a few months ago, heard “Let it Go” for the first time. TRUE STORY.
Godzilla: King of Monsters  **
Happy New Year (Bollywood) - I legit love Bollywood films, this sounds delightful.
Here Alone  **
Home  **
Hoodwinked!  **
Hot Fuzz - LOVE HOT FUZZ
How to Train Your Dragon  **
Howl's Moving Castle - I haven’t seen it, but I’ve had a few other Miyazaki films voted in for GIFTENING and Patreon, and I haven’t really enjoyed any of them. I’M WILLING TO TRY AGAIN. Just keep in mind, they may not be for me.
Hustlers  **
In Her Shoes  **
Inside Out  **
Interstellar  **
It's Such a Beautiful Day  **
Jennifer's Body  **
Jojo Rabbit - I wasn’t able to see this when it was at our local indy theater, and I regret missing it. I’d love to see it, but I’m not sure with my goyische commentary would be the best delivery method.
Jupiter Ascending - Love this beautiful dumb film, omg. I’ve streamed this for previous GIFTENINGs though, if that’s a thing to care about.
Klaus  **
Knives Out - Very keen to see this, but it may not be out on dvd/streaming before THE GIFTENING, so bear that in mind.
Last of the Blonde Bombshells  **
Legally Blonde - I’VE ACTUALLY NEVER SEEN THIS. I feel like I have, from all the gifs and shit, but nope!
Love Never Dies - Oh my god is this the Phantom sequel, why do you all hate me.
Mad Max: Fury Road - LOVE IT. I’ve done it for THE GIFTENING before, though, just a note.
Madoka: Rebellion - (copied from Rebellion in Anime)  I saw the Madoka series (fairly ambivalent to it), and heard the movie was terrible, but no clue why, specifically.
Man from UNCLE  **
Masters of the Universe (He-Man, 1987) - This movie is so fucking bad hahaha
Midsommar  **
Monster High: Fright On  **
Muppet Christmas Carol - Just watched this during Holligay’s Eight Days! I’m not sure it’s really in my wheelhouse, being relatively lukewarm on both A Christmas Carol and the Muppets, but I’d do my best!
Murder on the Orient Express  **
Newsies (1992)  **
One Cut of the Dead  **
Pacific Rim - I saw it in the theater and actually didn’t care for it over much. I’d be willing to give it another shot though, it might be better second time around.
Pan's Labyrinth - I’ve streamed this film a couple times now, I think, but it’s a good one, so I’m up for another go if you guys want!
Parasite (2019)  **
Perfect Blue  **
Pleasantville  **
Promare  **
Redline  **
Resident Evil  **
Return to Oz - I saw this as a kid and haven’t again since. TAKE THAT INFORMATION AS YOU WILL.
Rock-a-Doodle  **
Searching (2018)  **
Secret of Nimh - LITTLE JET WOLF LOVED THIS MOVIE. Adult Jet Wolf hasn’t sampled it.
Spaceballs - I’ve watched the shit out of Spaceballs. I love a parody, I’m shameless.
Speed Racer (2008) - I’ve only seen this once, but actually enjoyed it more than I expected to.
Spice World - I legitimately love this movie. I’m not sure it’s GOOD but it’s a thousand times better than it has any right to be.
Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse - Good movie, lots of fun, I streamed it not too long ago on Patreon.
Star Wars - IT’S STAR WARS
Star Wars Holiday Special - I’ve never watched this, and I’m not sure how excited I am to change that fact.
Street Fighter (1994) - I HAVE ONLY HEARD THE LEGENDS
Summer Wars  **
Super Mario Brothers - Oh .. this can’t be good ...
Tale of Tales  **
Tangled - I’ve seen it, but didn’t have strong opinions one way or the other.
The Adventures of Tintin  **
The Great Muppet Caper - I’m sure I’ve seen this, but fuck if I can remember anything.
The Last Jedi (hatewatch) - WELP
The Living Wake  **
The Lost Boys - It’s not a good movie, and I love it.
The Mummy (1999) - Streamed recently on Patreon!
The Rezort  **
The Road to El Dorado - I’ve seen it, I want a Sailor Moon AU of it.
The Room - I know it’s considered one of the worst films ever made, but I’ve never had the personal privilege of experience.
Tokyo Godfathers  **
Us (2019) - Saw it in the theater, totally down for seeing it again with perspective on the whole movie.
Venom  **
Wall-E - Probably my favourite Pixar film!
Wayne's World - Saw it back when! Does it hold up? WHO KNOWS
What We Do in the Shadows (movie) - As mentioned above, I’ve never seen it, but I’ve heard it’s an amazing Taika Waititi joint.
When Marnie Was There  **
Wolf Children Ame and Yuki  **
X-Men 2 - GOD I LOVED THIS MOVIE. I’m not sure how well it would hold up, but when it came out? One of the few films I’ve paid to see multiple times in the theater.
Your Name  **
Games
Ace Attorney (blog) -  I’ve tried multiple times with the Ace Attorney games, and I must be honest and say I just don’t like them.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent - I’ve watched a playthrough! The story’s not good. THE IDEA OF PLAYING IT STRESSES ME OUT SO HARD HAHAHAH YOU FUCKS
Among the Sleep (stream)  **
Arkham Knight (main story run) (stream) - Very intrigued to play this. I’ve tinkered a bit, but get distracted by all the side stuff. The motivation to just streamline the story very much appeals.
Baba is You (stream) - I’ve heard great things about the game, but in a “It was great!” way, I still know fuck all about it.
Black Closet (blog)  **
Borderlands (stream) - Love Borderlands, it’s fun as hell. I’d probably angle for Borderlands 2 over the first, but would have a good time however it went.
Catherine Classic  **
Cho Aniki  **
Control (stream) - I’ve seen a little bit on Steam, just enough to know I’m interested.
Cthulhu Save Christmas - Never heard of it, but great title.
Cuphead (stream)  **
Danganronpa  **
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc (blog)   **
Dead by Daylight (stream)  **
Death Stranding  **
Death Trips  **
Detention (stream)  **
Disco Elysium (blog) - I’ve heard great things, would be totally okay with a reason to play it.
Doki Doki Lit Club (stream) - I was so intrigued with this from THE GIFTENING a couple years ago that I wanted to work it into the main schedule, but it just didn’t happen. 100% on-board the chance to keep going!
Dragon Age: Origins (stream) - I KEEP STALLING WHENEVER I TRY TO REPLAY THIS GAME SO I CAN MOVE TO DA2 THIS IS MY PERSONAL HELL
Dragon Quest Builders 2 (stream)  **
Dream Daddy - I know the premise, and the idea of blogging this is beautiful.
Final Fantasy X (blog) - Have I played X? (asks Hubby) YES I HAVE. It’s one of the few that I finished. Final Fantasy games usually entail so much grinding that I’m not sure it’d be a great liveblog, but I’d do my best!
Firewatch - I’ve been wanting reasons to play this SO MUCH.
Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective (stream) - I’m preeetty sure everyone just wants to hear how many terrible accents we can do. And that’s legit! I’ve since figured out how to play mobile games on my PC so the video quality would be better than last time, but that is the only improvement I could promise. (previous stream)
Gris  **
Half Dead 2 (stream)  **
Hand of Fate 2 (blog) - I think this is a card game?
Hatoful Boyfriend/Pigeon Fucking (blog) - IS IT EVEN REALLY THE GIFTENING WITHOUT PIGEON FUCKING (previous liveblogs)
Hollow Knight  **
House Flipper (blog) - I’ve tentatively had my eye on this on Steam for a while, so seeing this nominated tickled me.
Just Dance (stream) - Jesus wept, you all DO hate me. IF I HAVE TO DO THIS I WON’T DO IT ALONE
Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (First Chapter) (blog)  **
Legend of Zelda (stream) - I AM SO BAD AT THIS GAME WHY
Life is Strange (blog) - See below!
Life is Strange (stream) - I streamed all episodes of Life is Strange a couple years back. While I’m not sure I’d have much to offer on a replay, I’ll happily do it if you guys vote it in. MEANWHILE, here’s a playlist with all the Life is Strange streams.
Life is Strange 2 - My understanding is it’s a separate game from the first with new characters and new story.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm (stream) - And I believe this is a prequel to the first Life is Strange featuring Max and Chloe.
Little Inferno (stream)  **
Long Live the Queen (blog) - YOU KNOW PINK PRINCESS (previous liveblogs)
Long Live the Queen (stream) (with walkthrough to not repeat) - I laughed so hard at the nomination specifically giving my ass a walkthrough.
Mass Effect 1 - I’ve played it multiple times! The Mass Effect series is one of my personal favourites.
Monster Prom (w/Hubby, Doc, & Jill) (stream) - AGAIN WITH VOICES I SEE YOU. It can be difficult to get everyone’s schedules all in alignment, so this may be subject to shuffling and delays, just to keep in mind.
Nancy Drew: Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake (stream)  **
Overwatch (stream) - I assume this is more group play? But we can talk details if it makes it into further heats.
Oxenfree (stream) - I’ve fully streamed Oxenfree on the Patreon. It’s well outside the exclusivity window at this point, and I’m happy to make those public if you guys were interested and would rather put your votes elsewhere. That said, I really enjoyed the game, and think a second playthrough could add a lot to the overall experience, so feel free.
Pathologic 2 (blog)  **
Persona 3 Portable (blog)  **
Pillars of Eternity (blog) - I’ve never finished Pillars of Eternity, but I do have a game with some significant progress I could continue. Alternately, I could roll a whole new character, and would play it however you guys chose. We have options if we go this route!
Pokemon Go (stream/videos) - Amazing. Here the link to last year’s Pokemon Go, if you’d like some idea of what the fuck this is about!
Portal (stream) - The Portal series is great, I think it does some really interesting and innovative ideas with gameplay. I’ve played and finished the first two, though remembering the solutions to any of those puzzles is, of course, another thing entirely.
Recettear: An Item Shop Tale (stream) - THIS WAS THE FIRST THING I EVER BOUGHT ON STEAM. I haven’t played it in forever, and I’m not sure how entertaining it would be, but I’m down for finding out!
Resident Evil 2 remake (blog) - IT’S ZOMBIES. That’s about all I know about Resident Evil.
Reventure  **
Sara is Missing  **
Shovel Knight (stream)  **
Slime Rancher (blog) - I have and have played Slime Rancher! I’m a little unsure about blogging it, but would try!
Slime Rancher (stream) - I WASN’T EXPECTING SUCH A RUSH FROM THE SLIME RANCHER FANDOM THIS YEAR
Stanley Parable - I think Hubby’s played this? I seem to recall it has a narrator who comments on what you do, but I don’t know much else.
Stardew Valley (blog) - I’ve never gotten as far in Stardew Valley as I’ve felt I would. Lots to do for me, yet!
Stardew Valley (stream) - Same as above, just in stream form!
Subnautica (stream) - I’ve done several Subnautica streams for Patreon, and if this gets through, I’d release them so everyone (who wants to) can catch up. If I recall, my last play left off with me exploring a big ass ship that crashed.
Superluminal  **
Tales from the Borderlands - It’s Borderlands, but Telltale, though!
Tales of Symphonia  **
Team SASV (Pokemon X/Y) - TEAM SASSY AND SOMEWHAT VAIN. If this gets in, I’ll need all the intervening time to try and find my fucking DS. (previous liveblogs, via the backup)
The 7th Guest (blog)  **
The Beginner's Guide (stream)  **
The Long Dark   **
The Outer Worlds - I haven’t played this yet but would be extremely delighted for an excuse to pick it up and start.
The Walking Dead game - I watched Hubby play the first two installments, haven’t seen beyond that. Felt the second was weak, LOVED the first. I’ve been hanging on Holligay’s playthrough, so I’m relatively familiar with the story again, save the last episode, which she’s not played yet. I’ve been wanting to before she did, to compare what I think she’ll do to what she actually does, so an excuse to get going on that would be welcome.
The Witcher 3 (stream) - I know @jewishsuperfam loves The Witcher, AND THAT IS ALL I KNOW.
Undertale (blog) - AREN’T I LIKE TWO MINUTES FROM FINISHING THIS. The fight where I left off was frustrating THE PISS out of me, but if this gets in, I’ll get Hubby to read up on what I need to do, and maybe get around that fight before the liveblog, so I don’t spend the whole time getting nowhere and then punching my monitor.
Untitled Goose Game (stream) - I just last month finished this on the Patreon! I need to double check that it would be out of the exclusivity window, but if so, I’d be happy to release it for you guys. I had a great time, but I don’t think there’s much to be regained from playing it again.
VA-11 Hall-A (blog)  **
VooDoo Vance: Remastered  **
Wattam  **
We Happy Few (stream) - I know the basic storyline premise, but little else.
What Remains of Edith Finch (blog) - I watched Holligay’s stream of this and loved the story.
Wild Arms 3  **
Wild ARMs XF (blog)  **
Yakuza 0 (stream)  **
Zero Escape 999 (blog)  **
AND THAT’S THAT. Sailor Moon Day and Miscellaneous don’t require much input from me ahead of time, I don’t feel, but if you have a question on anything there -- or something that’s unclear here, just shoot me an Ask. AND IF YOU FOUND THIS USEFUL PLEASE LET ME KNOW. It took me ... just SO much longer than I was expecting it to. Which I don’t mind, but if it’s not actually helpful to anyone, that’s time better spent elsewhere next year.

Fanfic Organisation Tips
I write a lot. Over the last few years I’ve developed a system with some simple rules that keep me writing prolifically almost every day and meant I never lost anything. This helped me write over 2000 pages and finish over 40 stories in the last 12 months. I felt like sharing it. Maybe there’s something you guys can use?
SET UP I have a scheduled hour of writing time every night. Its my comfy time. I’ve showered, I’ve had dinner, I’m ready to sit in front of a screen after work. And come hell or high water I try to put at least 1 word down on paper during that time. Something new, something in progress, there’s no shame either way. The important part is the routine. I find I personally work best without food but with headphones set high enough to drown out the TV my partner’s watching but not so loud I can’t hear myself think. Routines can help you write more. But you might want to consider what routine works best for you personally: -What time do you write best? (7am or 8pm?) -Where can you focus best? (Your bed? Lounge room?) -What helps you write? (Music? Water nearby? Temperature just right?) -How long can you write for? (Do you lose focus after an hour? Do you have work at 7.30am?)
Once I made these decisions I focused hard on carrying out my routine every day and making sure everything was ready for it. I felt calm cause I knew, even if I was having a rough day, at 8pm I would have some writing time. I had already scheduled it in.
ORGANISATION I find blank word documents intimidating. Starting on an empty page makes me choke up. So until I’m finished something it stays in a ‘garden’ document with everything else I’m currently working on. This is how I organise it: -All my stories for different fandoms are in different Word documents. All Fullmetal Alchemist stories are in “WIPS.doc” all Final Fantasy XV stories are in “Ficlets.doc”. That sort of thing. - I start a story and write as much as I can. If I get stuck I don’t ever delete it. I leave what I’ve got and start my next idea underneath it. - I can come back to any story at any time. -Once a word document reaches roughly 500 pages I start a new one. This means no single Word document gets too big to search or scroll or manage. -If I’ve started a new word document in the same fandom the Word document is titled the same but with a number (eg. all Fullmetal Alchemist stories are in WIPS.doc, WIPs 1.doc, and WIPS 2.doc) - To make finding stories easier when I’m scrolling I use this code: (~) = scene break within story ( … ) = breaks between different story ideas ( WORKING TITLE ) = every story gets a working title. I might change this later but they all get a short, simple, tag I can search in ctrl + f later. Working titles are better if they’re descriptive (eg. FAKE DATING AU, AMENSIA, BED SHARING). I do these in Capslock because that makes them easier to see when I’m scrolling.
IF YOU’RE REALLY EXTRA I’ve also started using a spreadsheet the last 6 months. It’s fairly simple but it means I can have multiple WIPS going on and see the bigger picture. It helps me quickly find that one idea I started writing a month ago I just got a wave of inspiration for and it helps me browse what idea to pick up when I’m not sure what I feel like writing. These are the columns I use in my spreadsheet:
-Fandom -Name of the Word document the story is sitting in (“Ficlets 1.doc” etc) -Working title of the idea (Ctrl + f so I can get to it quickly) -Brief summary of the general idea (to help me choose/refresh my memory) -Rating (how much I was enjoying writing it) -Word count (is this a big boy? Is it almost done? Is it just started?) -Have I posted this already? Y/N or 1/6 (chapters posted) +You could add a ‘pairing’ column if that’s more relevant to you   Make sure you have filters on in Excel. To do this select all your columns, go to ‘sort and filter’ and select ‘filter’. This will allow you to sort things in alphabetical order, easily manage what you’ve got, and filter specific searches for yourself (eg. all ideas for X fandom, all high rated ideas, biggest word count ideas, stuff you’ve already posted…)
TO SAVE A FRIEND The biggest rules I implemented were for myself. I made two decisions simultaneously: 1 I will not start posting anything that I have not finished writing. No exceptions. 2 I will be okay with oneshots, vignettes and multichapter fics. They all have an audience and if a story tells me it’s done. It’s done.
This means I post maybe 2 fics out of every 10 ideas. But it means I never abandon a story halfway through. Maybe I’ll start an idea, write 28k words and leave it for six months before writing another 10k words and finishing it but no one ever sees that gap. I found this helped motivate me to finish things (because I’m a whore for reviews) and oneshots and vignettes opened up my horizons. Not everything has to be 12 chapters.
I found with these rules my readers also became keener to follow what I was posting because my updates were regular. They could anticipate and look forward to my new chapters and they trusted me to always give them a complete story. They knew if I started something, they would get to read all of it.

Note
Hey I’m asking a couple of the writer asks at once if that’s okay. 4, 18, 32 and 37?
4) how many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? care to share one of them?
oh goodness you’re just really curious in what i’m working on, aren’t you?
hmmm, so i mean in terms of ideas i always have at least like 5 that would be so much fun to write - there’s a Qui-Gon/Shmi ficlet inspired by fae lore and a fantasy book i really like; there’s all these ideas for that post going around that’s like, “what if you stopped aging after 18 until you met your soulmate” but put that in the gffa (imagine! Cody desperately trying to hide from Obi-Wan that he’s aging when most of his bros aren’t! Rex being the only person that undertstands! Anakin and Padme never stopped aging because they met each other at such young ages); a rexsoka modern soulmates AU where you see in black and white until you meet your soulmate, but Ahsoka’s blind - this one would explore different ways that people could manipulate a blind person and would deal with some... light emotional/mental abuse, but it’s a super interesting idea. i have a few other ideas that i’m in varying stages of sorta-writing (Ahsoka saves rogue one is the name of a doc right now) as well, but if i listed everything this’d get way too long...
18) do you use any tools, like worksheets or outlines?
not really, actually! i’d probably be better at actually stayign focused and finishing things if i made outlines, but my preferred way to write is to talk things through with a friend to give me solid plot ideas and then to just kinda... let the characters do their own thing
32) how do you feel about smut?
i am ace. i don’t terribly mind smut, and i’ll read it in a story if it’s emotional or if it checks a couple other boxes, but i’ve never written it and i doubt i will. i’m perfectly fine with just writing some UST, flirting, and fading to black.
37) talk about your current wips.
ohhh boy here goes. i’m just gonna go with what gdocs i have open right now, excluding the Hunger Games AU series and lullabies, as y’all already know about those
i’m gonna be here til i’m nothing (but bones in the ground): a fullmetal alchemist fic i’ve been commissioned to do by a close friend of mine, who requested for Hughes and Roy during the Ishvalan War of Extermination
for want of a battle (the kingdom was lost): this is my self-indulgent “what if Vader decided to defect during twilight of the apprentice” fic - so far featuring Rex punching Vader, some background rexsoka, Ezra being suspicious, Ahsoka being Ahsoka, and soon to feature Vader reforming and getting a new suit, the takedown of the Empire, and Vader meeting his children and old Obi-Wan
i just wanna keep calling your name (until you come back home): codywan post Order 66 reunion fic! set in a verse where some influential Jedi survived Order 66 and Obi-Wan’s in hiding on Alderaan watching over both the twins, this fic is a series of dreams that chipped Cody and Obi-Wan share through the Force. it’ll eventually lead to Obi-Wan figuring out where Cody is and rescuing him from the Empire
Hunter AU: this currently-nameless fic is based off of a post by @gallusrostromegalus about Coruscant’s lower levels, in which Ahsoka is part of a clan in the mid/low levels who hunts the slightly terrifying creatures who live down there and yknow is just chillin and surviving, and Rex and a small squad are sent down on an undercover mission to discover the source of something that’s been, through the Dark Side of the Force, augmenting negative emotions (fear and anger) and inciting wild riots and protests and things on the surface. @collegefangirl3791 and i have some Real Fun plans for this, including a journey all the way down to Coruscant’s byssal level, completely underground, which has glowworms and glowing crystals and acidic rivers and lots of fun, alien things (literal built up layers of pure sulfur crystals, for instance) that we’ve come up with. that’s one i’m very excited about.
a smol excerpt (note that Rex and the boys have all been disguised so they don’t look identical):
The green-eyed blond man points at the jar that the injured man is holding, says, “This. Couple bacta patches.”
That’s- so much. Ahsoka can’t help grinning, pleased with herself - Carda will definitely be happy with this, maybe enough that Ahsoka can get some extra rations, and there’s probably plenty of bacta to act as tribute for these people. “Okay. Cool. I can take you to see my boss, but you’ll have to wait until closer to the end of wake, I’ve got shit to sell.”
She gives them all a pointed look, then adds, “Oh, by the way, what’re your names? I’m Ahsoka.”
“I’m Rex,” the blond man who’s been talking says, and they go around the circle - the man with the scar on his face is Cody, Jesse has the facial tattoo, Echo is the injured one, and Fives is the redhead. They seem… nice enough, and they agree to wait for her, and so Ahsoka goes back to Teren and the table.
“I got us some bacta,” she singsongs, patting Teren’s shoulder. “Definitely gonna get the extra rations this week.”
“You left our table unattended for like- too long,” Teren says, grumpy. “So she’s not gonna give them to you.”
Ahsoka flicks Teren’s left lek, grinning when he grumbles and ducks away from her. “So you don’t count as attended, is that what you’re saying? Or did you wander off?”
“That’s not what I meant.”
“Well, it’s what you said.”
anyway, on to the last two!
qui-gon lives: fairly self explanatory. Qui-Gon survives on Naboo. shit happens. he and Shmi are definitely a thing i don’t make the rules.
can you see right through me: this one is one i’m very excited about as well - it’s kinda modern day, but also kinda not, because it’s a modern day where the Greek mythology is all real. so some technology still is a thing but other stuff isn’t, and some things are replaced by magic, etc. Ahsoka is Medusa, basically, and her Gorgon sibs are Barriss and Anakin, and Rex is a blind enchanter who happens to run into them once. things happen. it’s fun.
okay, i think that’s everything. yeesh, this is a long post, sorry about that!
