@pyropansysdolls Flashback to my very first BJD, a DOC Elf Petsha. I had bought her with the (pricey) default Dream of Doll face-up, being new to the hobby and too damn scared to send her off for a custom.

Her first “official” photo shoot? I dropped my DSLR right on her cheek. Face-up was ruined and I quickly had to get over my fear.

One time I was posing my Pukifee Pong and he toppled over onto hard cement. His face-up is chipped but I edit it out in photos.

And my Doll Love Hugh? Half his damn nose broke and I had to have it modded to look halfway normal, lol.

I’m sorry this happened to your beautiful girl. 💐 But please know you are certainly not alone!!!

This is the damage she took from that fall. I guess it’s not that bad, it certainly could be worse, but I’m still really upset by this. She is q limited Soom sculpt, and her head WAS worth at least $100. This was the first time I had taken one of my dolls out for photos in months, and she immediately got chipped. How many of you have injured your doll from photos? It’s not just me, right?

Lenneth holds a very special place in my heart. I can’t believe I ordered her eight years ago, almost to the day! I’ll treasure her matter how much her resin mellows or how her face-up fades. She will always be my beloved winter guardian. ❄

Here’s my first BJD for February’s @bjdchallenge prompt: Lenneth, my Dream of Doll DOC Elf Petsha. 💜

I bought Lenneth in 2009 after discovering the world of ball-jointed dolls via DeviantArt. I knew I wanted an elf girl, and for a moment, I considered buying a Bambicrony Elf Shy to shell her character because I was afraid 1/4 scale may be too large a size for me.

But when I saw Petsha’s promo pictures I knew she was the one for me. I still remember how excited I was the day she arrived, and how horrible I felt after ruining her company face-up (I was such a newbie that I dropped my DSLR on her while taking photographs).

Lenneth is my snow queen who enjoys pottage, blizzards, and the sweet sound of angelots. She will always hold a very special place in my heart.
