Eco-Friendly Diwali Outfit Ideas: Embracing Sustainable Fashion for the Festival of Lights
Diwali, the Festival of Lights, is a time of joy, celebration, and togetherness. It's a time to adorn ourselves in radiant attire, and what better way to do so than by embracing sustainable Diwali fashion? In this blog, we'll explore a world of eco-friendly Diwali outfit ideas for women, helping you create a memorable and stylish celebration while being mindful of our planet.
Why Choose Sustainable Diwali Fashion?
The conventional approach to fashion often involves fast fashion, which can be detrimental to the environment due to its wasteful and resource-intensive production methods. Sustainable fashion, on the other hand, takes a more eco-conscious route. By choosing sustainable Diwali fashion, you're not only enhancing your style but also reducing your carbon footprint and supporting ethical practices in the fashion industry.
Diwali Outfit Ideas for Women
Handwoven Silk Sarees: Opt for handwoven silk sarees that not only showcase exquisite craftsmanship but also promote sustainable practices. Look for sarees made from eco-friendly silk, such as Tussar or Eri silk, which involve minimal chemical processing.
Upcycled or Vintage Attire: Consider donning upcycled or vintage outfits. These unique pieces not only carry a touch of history but also divert clothing from landfills, reducing waste.
Organic Cotton Anarkalis: Choose elegant Anarkali suits made from organic cotton. Organic cotton is grown without harmful pesticides, making it a sustainable and skin-friendly choice.
Khadi Kurta Sets: Khadi, spun from hand woven natural fibers, has a timeless appeal. A Khadi kurta set paired with vibrant accessories can create a stunning Diwali look.
Vegan Leather Accessories: For an eco-friendly edge, accessorize with vegan leather handbags, belts, or footwear. These alternatives are cruelty-free and reduce the environmental impact of traditional leather.
Handcrafted Jewelry: Opt for handcrafted jewelry made from sustainable materials like recycled metals, ethically sourced gemstones, or even natural seeds. These pieces add a touch of elegance while supporting responsible sourcing.
Sustainable Footwear: Choose footwear made from eco-friendly materials, such as jute, cork, or even recycled plastics. Sustainable footwear ensures that your Diwali outfit is not just stylish but also responsible.
Natural Dyes and Prints: Explore outfits dyed with natural colors and adorned with eco-friendly prints. These options are not only beautiful but also kind to the environment.
Tips for a Sustainable Diwali Wardrobe
Quality Over Quantity: Invest in a few high-quality, versatile pieces that can be worn on various occasions, rather than numerous single-use outfits.
Support Ethical Brands: Seek out brands that are committed to ethical and sustainable practices in their production processes.
Repair and Upcycle: Instead of discarding old clothing, consider repairing or upcycling them to give them a fresh look.
Swap or Rent: Consider clothing swaps with friends or explore rental services for special Diwali outfits.
Mindful Accessorizing: Choose accessories made from sustainable materials like wood, bamboo, or metals that are sourced responsibly.
By incorporating these sustainable Diwali outfit ideas for women, you can celebrate the festival in style while demonstrating your commitment to eco-friendly fashion. This Diwali, let your attire not only light up the room but also the path towards a more sustainable and vibrant future. Happy Diwali!

Diwali Outfit Ideas 2023: Pairing Traditional Clothing with Watches
Hello, fellow celebrants!
It's that time of year again when the air is thick with the festival of Diwali 2023. And, of course, Diwali brings with it the enjoyable duty of selecting the appropriate attire. Diwali is more than simply a holiday; it's a huge event that allows us to embrace our traditions, history, and love of fashion.
Here are some trending Diwali outfit ideas and matching watches. So, are you ready to go on an adventure to learn how a watch may lend a touch of elegance to your Diwali look?
Ethnic Clothing and Watches
The Essence of Traditional Wear During Diwali
Diwali outfits are more than simply clothes; they represent our culture and heritage. The vibrant colors, elaborate embroidery, and timeless beauty of kurtas, and sherwanis wonderfully capture the soul of this event. We're all aware that Diwali is the occasion for us to look our best, whether it's in traditional silk sarees, lavishly embroidered lehengas, or royal sherwanis.
How to Pair Watches with Ethnic Outfits
Let's move on to the finishing touch, the element that can take your look to the next level - watches. But not just any timepieces. We're referring to formal and analog timepieces, such as those seen in our formal men's watch collection.
These watches are more than simply timepieces; they exemplify refinement and charm. Their classic designs, which are often embellished with precious metals and gorgeous dials, suit the luxury of traditional Indian clothing well. Consider how a gold or silver watch can stand out against the rich colors of your traditional outfit. At Diwali parties, it's that touch of elegance that turns attention and initiates discussions.
Pairing Watches with Traditional Indian Wear
Let us now go into the art of matching watches with traditional Indian attire. To learn more about this, we suggest reading Pair Watches With Traditional Indian Wear. It's a goldmine of information that can help you create the proper balance between your watch and your conventional ensemble.
Modern Fusion Wear and Watches
Diwali fashion has experienced an interesting change in recent years. While traditional costume will always have a particular place in our hearts, a noteworthy trend has emerged: the advent of contemporary fusion wear. This look is a great blend of current and classic fashion.
Modern fusion apparel enables you to display your ethnic traditions while still enjoying the comfort and adaptability of modern attire. It's all about finding the right balance between the timeless appeal of traditional ensembles and the versatility of current attire. The result? A gorgeous outfit that emanates elegance as well as trendiness.
Let us now discuss how new watches complement this growing style.
How Modern Watches Complement Your Style
The function of timepieces in current fusion wear is no less dynamic. Modern watches are developed with the same adaptability in mind as fusion wear crosses the gap between traditional and contemporary fashion. These watches perfectly combine traditional and contemporary design aspects, giving you the best of both worlds.
The sleek, minimalist designs of modern timepieces complement the clean lines and fashionable characteristics of fusion wear. Whether it's a classic look with a modern twist or an utterly modern look with ethnic characteristics, the appropriate watch might be the final touch. It may easily complement your fusion ensemble, producing a striking and polished style statement.
Budget-Friendly Outfit and Watches
Let's face it, Diwali is a time for celebration, but that doesn't mean you have to empty your pockets to look your best. The good news is that there are numerous budget-friendly outfit options that not only let you shine but also leave your bank account smiling.
One clever approach is to explore local markets and boutiques, where you can often discover hidden gems at reasonable prices. Traditional outfits, including sarees, kurtas, and accessories, can be found at much more affordable rates than in upscale stores. The advantage of shopping in these markets is that you get to experience the local flavor, interact with vendors, and discover unique pieces that may not be available elsewhere.
Additionally, with the increasing popularity of online shopping, you can take advantage of Diwali offers and discounts. Many e-commerce platforms offer a vast selection of ethnic wear, and the competitive market often results in attractive pricing. It's a convenient way to browse and choose from a wide range of outfits without leaving the comfort of your home.
Another thrifty option is to repurpose an elegant outfit that you already own. You'd be surprised at how a few alterations or creative accessorizing can breathe new life into a classic piece, giving it a fresh Diwali look.
Affordable Watches Under 1500 Rs for Diwali
Now, let's talk about watches. There's no need to compromise on style, even if you're on a budget. Our watches under 1500 Rs collection is tailor-made for those looking for affordability without sacrificing quality and design. These timepieces prove that you can still make a statement without breaking the bank.
You'll discover a wide variety of watches, ranging from elegant and classic to contemporary and trendy, all under 1500. These watches boast craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring you get both quality and style.
So, if you're looking to embrace the spirit of Diwali without draining your wallet, we've got you covered. If you have specific details, points, or aspects you'd like to explore further in this section, or if there are particular budget-friendly tips you'd like to emphasize, please don't hesitate to share. Your preferences are essential to us.
Conclusion
So, our journey through the art of elevating your Diwali look with the perfect blend of traditional outfits and watches. Diwali is not just a festival; it's an emotion, a connection to our heritage, and a time for embracing our cultural roots. The joy of adorning ourselves in traditional attire is something truly special.
But what makes your Diwali outfit truly stand out is the careful selection of accessories. The choice of a watch can turn a great outfit into a showstopper. We've explored the significance of accessorizing, the essence of traditional wear, the elegance of formal and analog watches, and the fusion of modern and traditional styles.
As you prepare to celebrate Diwali, remember that choosing the right watch can be your perfect companion. It's not just a timepiece; it's a statement, an expression of your style and personality.
So, go ahead, embrace tradition, and let your watch be the finishing touch that makes this Diwali truly remarkable.

The roommate
Surprise! Happy Halloween/Diwali/Dia de los muertos everyone!
Credits to @tojishugetiddies for giving me a base idea. Thanks, sweetie ☺️!
This is just a two-parter, so I’m releasing part 1 today and then part 2 tomorrow on Halloween itself.
Also, side note: I came up with the Optimus Prime idea before I went to watch the Transformers One movie, but I can’t recommend it enough!!! It’s SO GOOD 😭😭😭😭😭!!!
Original story
BONUS Halloween story!
Part 1
Part 2
Warnings: none.
----------------------------------------------------------
Roommate!Miguel who walks down the stairs in his costume.
Your neighbourhood was notorious for doing a big blowout celebration for Halloween and just like you always had, you loved dressing up for it. Your kids were old enough this year to go trick-or-treating with their friends, but you didn’t mind staying at home to hand out candy with Miguel- it gave you a chance to admire the other kids’ outfits and also left you with some alone time to get up to a little ‘trick-or-treating’ of your own with your big, strong husband … 🤭
You rip open a packet of sweets and pour the contents into one of the large bowls in front of you and your son takes advantage of the opportunity to snatch a sweet as he walks past. You tsk at him in irritation, but Rio just shrugs and pulls out his phone as he takes a seat at the dining table.
Roommate!Miguel who wraps his arms around your waist as he comes up behind you.
“Need any help, querida?” he asks, pressing a kiss to your cheek in greeting. You twist your head around to give him a smile, then snicker softly at the fake moustache you’d drawn onto his upper lip.
You’d called him into your bathroom after finishing your own makeup, then sat him down on the chair in front of your dresser. He’d slid his hands up your thighs as you’d climbed onto his lap, his fingers squeezing and stroking you while you’d sketched the fine hairs onto his face.
‘Miguel,’ you’d chastised him as his lips had stretched into a smile, ‘try not to smile so much.’
He’d grinned at your soft laughter and moved his hands up to your waist.
‘I can’t help it, querida,’ he’d told you apologetically. ‘Why didn’t you just let me grow my own moustache?'
‘Because,’ you’d argued, getting back to work, ‘you’d look like a creep. And it would be annoying to kiss you.’
He’d snuck his fingers beneath your shirt and began running them across your skin as you’d continued and soon, your costume prep time had turned into a full-on makeout session with your sweet and sexy husband.
Roommate!Miguel who steals a sweet out of the bowl as well.
Your jaw drops in surprise and you glare at him as he walks around the kitchen island to take a seat in front of you.
“Like father, like son,” you grumble, shaking your head in disapproval as you tear open another bag of sweets. “If I ask the two of you for help, you’ll probably finish all the sweets on your own.”
Miguel glances over at his son in question, but Rio just shoots him the same confused look he was sure was on his own face. “!Papà!”
Miguel looks up as your youngest son barrels down the stairs, a look of alarm on his little face.
“¡Ten cuidado, pollito! (Be careful!)” Miguel warns him, holding his hands out as Rafael races towards him. His son slows down a little, but his body still buzzes with panic.
“!Papà! The lights aren’t working! Fix it!”
Roommate!Miguel whose lips twitch with amusement at his son’s demand.
He’d helped him attach the optical-fibre cables running through his Optimus Prime costume a few days ago, but something seemed to have gone wrong in the meantime. Miguel turns Rafael around and examines the cables, finding the problem easily. He reattaches the loose wire and turns the switch on, causing the costume to light up as they had intended.
“Yes!” Rafael exclaims, bouncing with excitement. “¡Gracías, Papà!”
He gives his dad a quick hug, then dashes back up to his room without another word.
“Rio?” you call. “What time are your friends getting here?”
Rio checks his phone again for any new messages. “They said they should be here in about ten minutes. They’re picking up Danny first.”
“Who’s he dressed as?” Miguel asks, trying to find a way to steal another sweet from one of the bowls. Rio grins and sets his phone aside.
“Daphne,” he reveals delightedly. “He got his mum to help him alter his skirt and everything! I think he’s going to steal his sister’s heels, but Shawn said he’s going to bring a spare pair of sneakers in case his feet start to hurt.”
His friends had decided to dress up at the Scooby Doo gang and though your son looked the polar opposite of the pale-skinned, blond-haired all-American golden boy, they’d still chosen him to play Fred thanks to the good looks he’d inherited from you and Miguel.
Roommate!Miguel who turns to the door when one of your neighbours pops her head in and calls out to you.
“Hi everyone!” Sana begins, trying to keep the group of eleven-year-olds behind her at bay. “Is Rafael ready?”
The woman had moved to your neighbourhood last year with her husband and two sons - the oldest of whom had quickly become good friends with your youngest. She was tall and thin with dark hair that always looked like she’d just come from the salon. Miguel stands and calls up the stairs for Rafa to come down and you don’t miss the way Sana’s eyes travel down your husband’s broad back.
“Rafa! Rashid is here!” Miguel turns to shoot her an amused look as Rafa scurries back down the stairs and Sana returns it with a practised smile of her own. You lower your head to hide the way your eyes roll, then bend over to give your son a hug.
“Bye, mami, love you!” Rafa recites before running around the island to tell the same to his dad.
“Bye, bebito! ¡Te amo, mi solito!” you call after him as he disappears out the door with his friends. Miguel yells the same, then sits back down again.
Roommate!Miguel who jumps up again when he sees his daughter coming down the stairs.
“Gabriella?!” he exclaims, unsure whether to be angry or terrified. “¡¿Qué diablos estás llevas?! (What the hell are you wearing?!)”
Gabi stops and stares back at her father with his same deep-set, upturned eyes.
“It’s my costume,” she replies, folding her arms across the tight shirt she’d put on over a pair of rolled-up shorts and a set of outrageously inappropriate fishnet stockings.
“What are you supposed to be?” Rio asks, narrowing his eyes in thought as he puzzles over his sister’s ‘costume’. You move to stand beside your husband and your features melt into a frown when you see what your daughter intends to leave the house in.
“A witch?” Gabriella replies, gesturing to her pointed hat as if it should have been obvious. You cross your arms and raise an eyebrow at her.
“I thought witches were supposed to look scary?” you muse out loud. “Not like a teenage boy's wet dream.”
“¡Mamà!” Gabi screeches in horror at the same time that Rio groans, “¡Ay, mami! ¡Por amor de Dios! (For the love of God!)”
You shrug, unbothered by your children’s complaints. “If you're embarrassed to hear me say it, you should be embarrassed to let me see it. Who's the boy?”
Gabi furrows her brow in confusion. “What boy?”
“The boy you’re trying to impress with this outfit?” you reply. “Which you should never be doing, by the way: that’s a red flag. The guy should always be trying to impress you.”
Roommate!Miguel whose eyebrows shoot up at your words.
He thinks back to the time before you’d started dating, trying to recall if he’d worked to impress you any more than you had. Maybe you were right: he could remember doing a few extra reps every time you’d joined him in the gym and he had shown off a little whenever you guys had studied together in the library or your shared living room. And there was that time he’d learned how to make your favourite dish so he could see the adorable smile that would light up your features when you came home to it after class. Ay, mierda. Maybe he really had always been trying to impress you.
“There’s no guy, mami,” Gabi sighs, rolling her eyes at your implication. You fix your daughter with a challenging look and she finally starts feeling self-conscious.
“There isn’t!” she insists, shifting awkwardly in position. “It’s just … Everyone else my age dresses up like this now!”
You turn to Rio in question. “Rio? Does everyone in Gabi’s year dress up like this?”
“We wear school uniforms, mamà,” Rio replies exasperatedly, not wanting to be dragged into the conversation.
“Outside of school?” you question, mimicking his sarcastic tone. Rio shrugs and glances at his phone again.
“I dunno,” he replies, coolly “I don't go around looking at fourteen-year-olds outside of school.”
“Right answer …” Miguel supposes, confused by his son’s response. “Wrong situation.”
You let your hands fall back to your sides, then you start walking up the stairs towards Gabriella.
“Wait.” You stop suddenly and quickly return to the kitchen to grab the bowl of candy. Gabi furrows her brows at you, but holds a hand out to help you.
“What are you doing?” she asks, helping you carry the bowls up to her room.
“I am making sure your brother stays healthy and your father stays hot,” you reply, prompting a wince out of your daughter.
“Why do I keep asking you questions I know I don't want to hear the answers to?”
“Because you're your father's daughter.”
Roommate!Miguel whose entire body warms at your words.
How could you still call him ‘hot’, even after all this time? After seventeen years of marriage and three kids? Rio jumps up as the sound of his friends’ voices float through the doorway.
“Bye, mami! Bye, Gabi!” he calls up the stairs, prompting you to rush out of his sister’s room and back down the stairs.
“Wait! Let me see your costumes!” you screech excitedly, gesturing for Miguel to get your phone. He grabs it from the kitchen island and turns on the camera as he joins you. “Oh my god! You boys look so good!”
You lean over to look at the photos he’s taken and Miguel wraps his arm around your waist.
“Thanks, Mrs O’Hara,” Nick replies, flicking his shaggy wig out of his eyes. He takes in your costume: a long-sleeved black dress that exposes your collarbone and clings to your figure. “You look good too! The Addams family?”
He shoots you a cheeky wink and Miguel pulls you a little closer into his side.
“This is why I don’t invite you guys over anymore,” Rio says, smacking his friend on the back of the head.
“Oh my god!” Gabi squeals, joining the two of you on the porch. “You guys look amazing!”
“You look,” Shawn begins excitedly, his features lighting up when he sees Gabi. He pauses quickly, calming himself down so he doesn’t come across as too eager, then he finishes coolly, “nice too.”
Gabriella smiles, oblivious to Shawn’s sudden shyness in her presence. “Thanks! My mum helped me!”
Roommate!Miguel who breathes a sigh of relief when he sees his daughter’s new outfit.
You’d made her roll her shorts back down to her mid-thighs and gotten rid of the fishnet stockings beneath. Then you’d switched her two-sizes-too-small shirt to an oversized black band tee you’d tucked into her shorts and rolled up the sleeves of. Finally, you’d clipped a section of her hair back, revealing her kohl-lined eyes, cherry red lips and two small fangs that peeked out from between her lips whenever she smiled.
“Whoa, are you … shining, honeybee?” Danny asks, squinting to check that he was seeing right. Gabi frowns at the nickname, but holds her arms out for everyone to see.
“Yup!” she confirms delightedly. “But it’s a secret.”
“Hey, bee!” Mayday calls, walking through their gate in almost the exact same outfit Gabriella had had on earlier. “Are you- Oh! Hi, Rio …”
Rio grimaces as she lowers her head, letting her curly hair fall over her shy smile. You press your lips together as Miguel digs his fingers into your side and reach up to place a reassuring hand on his shoulder. It was pretty obvious that his best friend’s daughter had a crush on your oldest son, but your husband had insisted time and time again that though he loved Peter, he did not want to become his brother-in-law.
‘I don’t think that’s how it works, cariño,’ you’d supposed, amused by your husband’s horror at the very prospect.
‘Good,’ Miguel had responded firmly. ‘I don’t want it to work.’
“Bye, guys!” Rio exclaims, pushing his friends out the gate before Mayday could say anything more.
“Bye, papito! ¡Te amo!” you call after him quickly. Mayday waves at the group as they rush past, then she jogs over to her best friend.
“Wow! Nice dress, Aunty X! And you look really good in that suit, Uncle Miguel! Oh my god!” She stops suddenly when she notices Gabriella’s outfit. “You look so good, Gabi! How did you …?”
“My mum helped,” she explains, pulling her friend in the house behind her. “Come on! I’ll help you get changed, then we can still match!”

DPS Girls & what's on their FYP (headcanons) This is very self indulgent but these are my hcs for what I think would be on each dps girls' fyp on tiktok c: they're under the cut - enjoy !
Elizabeth Caledonia “Calamity” / Ashe: Elizabeth's fyp is definitely littered with weaponry videos, especially historical ones where they restore them. Chainmail, swords, guns used in the American Revolution, things like that. She likes the videos where people show off their historical lighters too, and her fyp reflects that. On the other hand, she's definitely got a good amount of luxury lifestyle videos where people show off their designer items, high end perfumes, etc.
Echo: Echo's fyp is often a reflection of her need to understand humans - she watches a lot of TED talk videos reuploaded to tiktok, and likes to watch those ai generated videos from reddit with the story times. It's her guilty pleasure, and she often finds them interesting, especially when she reads the comments and sees the plethora of different opinions and perspectives. Plus, it helps her unwind after a difficult day since she doesn't need to focus on them too heavily to know what's going on.
Mei-Ling Zhou: Mei has an affinity for those calming, relaxation videos with rain sounds that have the most beautiful sceneries. She likes vicariously living through the pictures of mountains or fields people post when they're hiking, and loves to indulge in the beauty of the scenes they're in. It's something that helps bring back her passion if she's lost it in that moment. Besides from that, she gets a lot of activism posts ever since she deep dived the meaning behind the phrase ‘flowers are blooming on Antarctica’ and heard Lena talking about the Just Stop Oil movement in the UK. Mei enjoys seeing people actively fighting for the planet, and it's something she'll always interact with.
Fareeha Amari / Pharah: With Fareeha's lifestyle, she would definitely have gymtok flooding her fyp - she likes to get new ideas for workouts, and loves exploring new brands to try for her own leisure and fitness. She gets the occasional video about family and generational trauma, with it being something she resonates with. But, she likes to have some humour on her FYP and she'd definitely be the type to have freaky bob sort of videos on it.
Vivian Chase / Sojourn: Vivian enjoys alcohol related videos, especially if they're aesthetic. She likes to watch wine bottle dipping, the process of making wine out of unconventional ingredients like sweets. It's her guilty pleasure, and she finds them pleasing to the eye. On the other hand, she'd probably have those reuploaded tiktok videos with the questionable videos next to them (iykyk), and she unironically likes them a lot.
Olivia Colomar / Sombra: Olivia's fyp is definitely in the ravetok sort of area of things - she loves to watch videos of Boiler Room sets, rave outfits, etc. and it's her guilty pleasure. Anything related to rave or club culture is on her fyp for sure. She loves videos about fashion too, especially cyberpunk fashion. It's something she'll always like and it gives her ideas for her own outfits.
Satya Vaswani / Symmetra: Satya has a guilty pleasure for videos where people make digital art on roblox, in VR, that sort of thing. Something about it tickles her brain just right. On that note, she definitely enjoys those ASMR slime/clay videos too for the fact that they help her unwind mentally (even when she's somewhat judging small details in the video like the creator's nails or movements). However, she would definitely have videos about Indian culture, exploring her heritage. She misses India, and so her fyp would have the occasional video about Sarees or about the upcoming Diwali date/plans people have to celebrate.
Lena Oxton / Tracer: On Lena's fyp, you can expect to see videos about extreme sports or thrill-seeking activities, like skydiving, bungee jumping, pole vaulting, BMX racing, drag racing, etc. She enjoys watching and envies them for their ability to have the guts to go through with it. It inspires her and makes her want to explore more avenues of adventure in life, especially with Emily. On the other hand, she definitely gets a lot of Olympic content on her fyp and is up to date with the current events and drama surrounding the Olympics.

"Target at twelve o' clock."
"Rodger that", the crisp static voice replies in your ear.
You're on an important mission, that's all you can say.
After quite sometime of vigilante-ing around Mumbattan with Spider-Man, you get recruited to S.H.I.E.L.D as agents-in-training. Tch, amateurs? Really? How many times have you kicked the Screwdriver crew's ass? And dealt with The Nightmare on a monthly basis. C'mon, SHIELD!
Fury had initially doubted your credibility, but after witnessing your skills and a bonafide from Spidey himself, he appreciated you being on the good guy's side now.
Personally, you hate being ordered around -which was why you worked solo; to be your own boss- but work was work and you were getting paid, (the SHIELD id card helped greatly in some sticky situations) so you were somewhat content.
Pavitr... not so much. He hated the constant privacy breach and lack of freedom; 'its like being put on a leash, y/n!', he would often complain.
And they wouldn't even let you guys on important missions! Atrocity, really.
So it was like Diwali came early when Fury finally -although, begrudgingly- allowed you both to go on a mission! And without a senior agent on field to supervise you, which was the cherry on top! Pavitr was so overjoyed that he began cheering and dancing before you were even given details.
The mission was boringly typical, though it excited you no less: pretend as high-class guests to retrieve a spectacular artefact, some tesseract thingy that glows blue, showcased at a charity event (which was actually more of a show off) hosted by multi-millionare bald businessman. The catch was that the man's son, a teenager, was there in his father's stead and he was in-charge of the invites, which meant the crowd was young.
Though, what idiot dad would let such a priceless asset be lying around a teenager, you didn't know, but their failings is your advantage. (And Fury swore the teen had no idea about it, so taking it "should be a piece of cake." Easy for you to say, Mr. Eyepatch.)
Pavitr comes out after changing into his attire -a silky black tux with a cute little bowtie- running his hand through his wavy obsidian locks. You can't help pinching his cheeks as you subtly give him an once over. Man, he looks handsome!
You're dressed in an equal fashion but in more bland colours and stiletto heels. "For convenience", Fury says and you restrict from rolling your eyes.
Donning the eyemasks, SHIELD takes you to the place of the event in a limo, with a couple senior agents staying back to monitor the target and your movements -and as a Plan C. You were too involved in not outright drooling at the luxurious interior to be offended.
The car comes to a quiet halt and you go through your scripts, which is agonizingly simple: Peter (Pavitr) as the heir to a climate tech startup and you as his secretary.
With final touches to your outfit, the pair of you step out.
_______
You've successfully entered the premises without a hitch and Pavitr, or Peter, made his presence known. After chatting with a few company heirs and young CEOs, your eye catches the prize.
"Queen at 10 o' clock", you say, seeing the tesseract. Pav nods at you from a few feet away: it's time to move.
You're currently in a secluded area set up specifically for the tesseract, restricted only to the most esteemed guests and VIPs -of which you were neither. But the good news is that the lightning is dim and occupants are scattered across the room, which should give you enough leeway to sneak her out.
"Eye on the ball", Spider-Man's smooth voice rings in your ear. How he is still cheery, you'll never know. "Black Cat, do you copy?"
"Rodger that."
You've yet to meet the host himself, which is custom, but you thought you could make away with the tesseract before and not cause a scene. What if he dedeuced you were spies? What if he realized he never invited you? Fury hadn't let you see a pic of him beforehand either, so what if you've passed by him without knowing? Oblivious of the host himself? Now, that was bound to cause a scene.
Crossing your fingers, you join your "boss" and saunteer behind a confident Pavitr, who strides in like he owns the place. It works; the bodyguards seem a bit intimidated despite their deadpan stare eventhough Pav is very much smiling.
"Keep moving. Queen at ten steps, north."
"I see her." Pavitr smirks into the camouflaged bluetooth, whispering excitedly, "Got i-"
"Alert! Host approaching at 3 o' clock."
You panic, though your face is set straight, heart thumping loudly in your chest and your palm turns sweaty. Pavitr is frozen with shock as he sees the boy in white suit and red tie from a distance.
"What the-!", Pav swears under his breath. A sweat bead rolls down the side of his forehead as he pulls you aside, backing into a dim corner. "That's Hari Oberoi, my best friend!"
Shit shit shit! If he catches Pavitr snooping around his house on a striclty business party...
A frantic crisp whisper echoes urgently through the bluetooth. "S@&#*! We've been compromised. Abort! Mission abort-", it cuts off abruptly with the sound of a revving engine, leaving you two to your own devices. Great, just great.
This is too much pressure for a simple ex-cat burglar like you.
Suddenly, as if the Universe itself wanted you to escape, you get an idea and pull Spider-Man through the restroom door behind you. Only once inside does your breath return.
The releif on your faces doesn't stay long, because Hari Oberoi is knocking on the door a few seconds after. The lock clicks open, golden handle curving down in a squeak.
As quick as a flash, Pavitr cups your face and surges forward, connecting your lips in a full kiss. You freeze in shock, not even moving as he caresses your cheek, thumb rubbing circles as he coaxes your mouth relax. You body goes into autopilot and reciprocates the kiss, leaning into him, fingers tangling in his soft wavy hair as his hands seek your waist.
Fireworks burst in your veins, every nerve coming alive. His lips are so so soft, just like you imagined.
Hari evidently has witnessed your romantic moment, judging from the soft 'whoah, sorry!' you hear before a sharp resounding click of the door being shut.
Forever has passed when Pavitr pulls away for air, your lips chasing his before he returns with a short kiss. You look into his deep brown eyes, catching your racing breath.
"Pav, that was.."
His eyes are still sparkling. "..Amazing"
____
The annoying static voice sounds once you're safely out of the premises, your target sitting in your palm obediently. "Spider, cat, do you copy?"
Pav clears his throat and answers. "Rodger that, sir. The Queen is dead."
Code for 'we've got the prize.'
A static silence ensues. And then, a slightly amused, "Long live the king."
Code for 'get your asses back to HQ safely. We're not sorry for ditching you.'
______
[Later]
"Uh-huh. And how, exaclty, did you take her?", Fury asks with his resident face of disapproval as he listens intently.
"Well", Pav says, stretching his arms and breaking his knuckles for effect as he spins a tale, "after your agents abandoned us, Y/n and I snuck into the vents which we painstaking crawled through, and by the power of my amazing webs, I snatched it when they weren't looking. The artefact teleported us outside."
No one can condone nor object your statements due to lack of witness and evidence against you. Plus, they did abandon you guys.
You giggle, saluting the one-eyed director who dismisses you and walk out onto the platform of the helicarrier.
"Ahem..", you clear your throat when you finally get some privacy, "about the kiss.."
The pink of the sunset paints his cheeks, the yellow of the evening glowing behind him. Pavitr blushes, his dimples deepening and god, if he isn't positively ethereal right now!
"Hmm..", he bites his lip, eyes sparkling, "I'm not sure we did it right. We should do it again. What do you say?"
There was much to talk about: where you guys stand, what relationship you have and, of course, feelings.. but all that is secondary. Right now, there's only one thing in your mind.
"Yeah", you agree as he pulls you closer, noses touching, "We should do it again."
