summary: all for one steals a rental car without realizing Izuku was sleeping in the back seat. But he definitely isn't letting Izuku go now (Izuku doesn't know that) since he reminds him of his younger brother and his ex-wife Inko. And it definitely helps that Izuku is (wrongly assumed to be) all mights son!

AU where Hisashi calls Izuku regularly while he works overseas and one day Hisashi tells Izuku about his new boyfriend who is very sweet to him and unfortunately got into a bad accident many years ago that left him disabled so Hisashi helps care for him.Izuku later finds out this boyfriend is AFO.

why would you leave inko for afo. 'hold on yeah i think i'll leave this priceless bahia emerald and skip town and then i found a broken piece of chalk instead.' my guy. you deserve all might stealing your son.

1- ok so. Hisashi is an accountant who moves to new york to make more money. He and inko officially divorce, which means Izuku takes the Midoriya name and Inko has sole custody, but while Hisashi does not have to pay child support or alimony, he does opt to send them some support and tries to stay in contact because i guess his taste in men was so bad that he and inko just work better as friends. good for them ig.

2- actually Hisashi is just straight up color-blind: he can't see any red flags. Its not just his personal tastes. this man has worked for four separate blatant money laundering schemes since he went abroad. he has no clue. this is how he ends up coming into contact with AfO, but AfO's job offering is too indirect and vague, and Hisashi is like 'are you... flirting with me?' instead, but AfO can work with that. And while Hisashi certainly isn't a genius with people or warning signs, i will give him (and inko) this: he's a great lay.

3- He's also a very caring boyfriend, which was part of the problem with inko, they ended up really inciting each other's anxieties, but AfO likes being pampered so he decides to keep Hisashi around even if he isn't a employee. even better really, that he doesn't have to pay, bribe, quirkify, dequirkify, or threaten him. Hisashi, as a bit of a doting boyfriend, also has a lot to say about the man to others, so Izuku ends up hearing a lot of gushing over the phone as he's training with weights and is a bit too out of breath to change the topic. plus, he doesn't want to bring up going to UA until its a sure thing, his dad will definitely freak out about it not being safe. finally he tells his dad he got in, and hisashi is like 'oh yeah, cuz they changed the rules, which track?' and izuku goes 'oh uh hero track and alsoihaveaquirknowitscalledsuperpower oh look at that moms calling me for dinner sorry bye.'

4. Dazed, Hisashi gushes about his son to his boyfriend later, dropping that izuku's going to become a hero at ua, what a surprise- but, well, he supposes his son has always loved to watch heroes...

AfO is like 'hm. being a hero isn't very safe...' ('i know...') 'why don't you try to push him to visit you? keep him safe. maybe in a safe. don't you just wanna keep a hold of him?' ("i do, but that'll only drive him away. he's growing up... besides, if i was busy only keeping watch over him, who'd take care of you?") 'mm, good point. keep prioritizing me, i will neither put a hit on the kid as competition nor do anything to keep him safer.'

5. Reveal... uh yeah so Hisashi does mention to Izuku when his boyfriend goes missing, sometimes he gets called to work suddenly but he's never been gone this long, he's worried, is he restocking his meds, where is he? oh yeah, he vanished around Kamino. unfortunate, but not incriminating on its own. What IS incriminating is rewound!AfO, looking at Izuku with a tilted head. "I can see bits of Hisashi in you, hm. Just the worst bits, luckily." Izuku starts realizing what this means. Bakugo distracts him and blasts him to the Shigaraki fight, because he also started to realize what it meant and simply did not want to deal with hearing anymore of that. Over at the ShigarAfO fight, AfO tries to keep throwing Izuku (and tomura) off their game by wondering if Hisashi will find this new, younger body nice as well- probably, its not like the man had the highest standards. Izuku and Tomura are united in such abosolute done-ness with AfO that he's immediately snuffed out of Tomura's head and nothing remains behind. Tomura is like 'uh, do you want a day's break and then a rematch because i need to bleach my brain' but izuku is like 'oh no i need to punch someone through a mountain rn, lets keep going while i reform you with the power of friendship and incredible violence.' (By unspoken agreement, neither Izuku, Bakugo, or Tomura ever breathe a word about it to anyone, much less to Hisashi.)

DFO AU:

Hisashi Midoriya and AFO are two separate people. Except Hisashi happens to look exactly like AFO (before he got his face ripped off). All Might freaks about his enemy possibly being his student's father, but then everyone learns that they just look alike and it's all fine. ...Except AFO ends up stumbling into him and falls in love because he's such an incredibly handsome man. And because Hisashi and Inko got divorced in the au, they get married and AFO is Izuku's new stepdad.

Summary: Inspired by a prompt by @aconstantstateofbladerunner - what could have been, if not for you - After Inko divorces him, Hisashi’s goes to the press to say All Might stole his wife and son.

Notes: So, uh, started poking around My Hero Academia. I haven't really heard good things about the canon stuff, especially its treatment of the female characters and issues with Tell not Show, but I have found a lot of fanworks I enjoyed!

He got the news after class.

"Hey, uh, Dekiru?" Ashido said, peering at her phone. They had all stopped calling him Deku after Bakugo's third assault on him got his parents called and his former fri- bully expelled and his actions in Aldera revealed to the class, mostly through Auntie Mitsuki's yelling. For a while, it had been awkward in class, especially around the Bakusquad, but things had gone back to normal with a new nickname for him. "Do you know a guy by the name of Midoriya Hisashi?"

Izuku looked up from his homework, where he was helping Shouto and Ochaco pick out a pre-Quirk hero to do their project for history class on. Tenya had already picked Joan of Arc. He hadn't heard the name in a while. Not since his mom and All Might started dating and she had to sit him down to explain the truth about her and his dad's relationship.

"Uh, yeah. He's my bio dad," he admitted, practically feeling Shouto's eyes go wide. He had been so certain about his bio-son theory, especially when his parents decided to tie the knot. "He moved to the United States when he and my mom divorced." Because he had been Quirkless.

It had been a tough pill to swallow, even though he hadn't seen the man since he was four.

"Well, uh...he's claiming that All Might stole your mom from him."

He blinked. He blinked again. The words stalled in his brain for a few seconds. Not even just the fact that he was in Japan again.

"What?!"

Ashido turned on the TV, flipping it until they reached a news channel. "-foreign market manager, Midoriya Hisashi, claims that the former Symbol of Peace, All Might, used his influence in order to send him on a twelve-year post in New York City in order to seduce his wife Midoriya Inko, now Hayashi-Yagi Inko-"

A slam on the table made him flinch, turning his head. "I refuse to believe that!" Ochaco bellowed, looking ready to bolt out and find Hisashi to fist-fight him. "Zuzu-san's mom would never do that!"

Shouto followed her, little flames puffing out as he hissed, his usual blank expression taken over by anger. "Inko-sama is the kindest, pure-hearted woman I have ever met," he said. "Her first concern is for Midoi." Tenya nodded furiously, his own face turning red, clearly too upset to even bother about a lecture about how heroes like All Might would never sink to that level.

"Aww," Izuku couldn't help the coo even as he pulled out his phone and typed in her number. "I'll tell her that you guys said that." He had to check on her. He knew she was probably fine, but she had received such nasty words when she and All Might came out.

"A lot of people agree with you guys too," Ashido said, scrolling on her phone. Next to her, Tsu and Jiro had pulled out their phones and were smiling at whatever they saw. "People are speaking up against the accusation, mostly for All Might-"

"But a lot of people love your mom, kero," Tsu said, her shoulders shaking. "There's even a tag trending called #DefendMsMight, kero,"

His phone picked up. "Izuku?" his mom said. Instead of tears like he almost expected, it sounded like she was laughing. "Izuku, did you see the news?"

"I did," he said, his heart slowing down. She wasn't hurt, she wasn't even upset. If his bio dad expected this to break her, he was wrong. "Tsu was telling me that a lot of people were defending you online."

"We love you, Inko-sama!" Shouto called.

That received a sniffle. "I love you guys too!" she called, probably crying at the affectionate title. Her voice suddenly sharpened in strange, bloodthirsty, glee. "But Hisashi's getting dragged everywhere and I love it."

"...like, now? Or before the lawyers get him?"

"Yes."

//Oooh that's a good one! I have thought of a Childhood!Bakunette but this one might be fun to write. Okay, here we go let's see what I can cook up with this request!

(Going to do this in the HCs style of writing because why not~?)

Inko Midoriya found out about the bullying earlier than in canon.

After visiting the doctors and finding out her son was quirkless, the woman was at a loss at first.

Even with the assurance of her high school friend, Mitsuki Bakugo, and her husband, Masaru, that their son, Katsuki, will look after Izuku during their time in school, Inko felt uneasy.

And then...her boy came home after playing in the park with Katsuki and the other boys, covered in dirt and bruises.

Mama Midoriya was not having it.

She went off on not just Katsuki, but to Mitsuki as well. Despite Masaru trying to stop the rage that was coming from the green haired woman, he clammed up as soon as her fury was turned on him for being a coward against his wife and spoilt son.

Suffice to say, Inko severed her ties of long-lasting friendship with the Bakugos after that.

But that also meant that Inko could no longer stay in the neighbourhood, not with the Bakugos being the most popular in the community and all. Neighbours tend to talk, and Inko didn't want to be isolated and make Izuku feel guilty of why they were not friends with any of the other kids and their families anymore.

Luckily, Inko had a friend outside of Japan that could help them.

While it was not ideal to move to another country, it wasn't as if Hisashi was coming back for them. That was the only reason that Inko stayed where she was and raised Deku in the home that her supposed husband has provided for her while he worked overseas.

No, Inko was going to be the hero for once. Izuku's hero.

She called up that friend, explaining the situation and she smiled when the friend said that they're going to help her and Izuku. After all, Paris was one of the countries that had more quirkless than any others of the world. They could make a new life there.

Who would've thought that Sabine Cheng was the friend of Inko's. Apparently the two of them were part of an online flower arranging club, mostly giving tips to other women that loved the art and soon it formed a sort of 'pen-pal' relationship between them for years.

Sabine easily helped Inko with paperworks of divorce and a visa to Paris, thanks to the Cheng family having connections.

Inko wasn't ready to tell her son that she was quietly separating from his father, but then again, Izuku never seems to ask about his Dad anymore. Not since his fanatic obsession with heroes and All Might. It should relief her a bit, but it also worried her.

When telling Izuku that they were moving away, at first, Izuku cried. Mostly because he still dreamed of being a hero, of being like All Might...even if he was quirkless.

But somehow, after a few days, Izuku was quiet and conceded. Inko had a feeling that the last day of school for Izuku, something happened (she finds out later that Katsuki had said some mean choice of words...something about a swan dive. Who teaches an elementary school boy that?!)

Izuku tried to be happy, he really did.

While being a hero was the number one dream in his heart, he can tell that his mother was feeling guilty and sad about him. Especially when finding out he wasn't going to be like other kids.

On the bright side, at least he's away from Kacchan and the bullies.

Paris...was bright and colorful.

Both Midoriyas were at awe when they first arrived.

Sabine was there at the airport to greet them with a smile, along with a huge bear of a man that was waving at them happily and on his shoulder was a cute sweet little girl Izuku's age holding up a sign that said, "Bonjour et bienvenue, Midoriyas~!"

Marinette was excited to have a new friend.

When her Maman told her that an online friend was coming to live in Paris and be somewhat their new neighbours, she was quick like her Papa and was trying to make a huge welcome feast for them.

Her Maman told her to be kind to Izuku, since he's been through a tough time, and Marinette promised she would be nice.

When she and Izuku met for the first time...the two of them felt butterflies in their stomachs.

"Hi...My name is Marinette D-Dupain-Cheng! What's yours?"

"...Midoriya, Izuku."

"Well Midoriya, Izuku! We're going to be great friends!"

"A-ah, just Izuku i-is fine..."

They become neighbours after that. Living in the same building, Izuku and Marinette had been side by side ever since.

Even when Sabine and Tom offered to help Inko find a job, Inko assured them she was fine and managed to land a job on her own as a nanny to some girl named Chloe Bourgeois.

With her Mom always gone and Andre busy in political campaigns, Chloe ended up being raised by Inko instead.

Andre never had time to spoil Chloe, Inko assuring the Mayor of Paris that she could handle the girl, and even treated her the same way she treated Izuku. Which meant that if she misbehaved, she was given a time out and lightly lectured on what she did wrong before hugging her and gently giving her a motherly talk.

It didn't stop Chloe's attitude, per se. She was going to be Audrey's daughter, through and through. But she wasn't as bad as canon.

It didn't help that Izuku was around when Inko was babysitting, meaning Marinette was always around as well.

Izuku was reminded of Kacchan at first when meeting Chloe.

Chloe's first impression on Izuku?

"What are you wearing? If you're going to be my friend, you're gonna have to dress the part."

Thus, Chloe managed to take Izuku shopping for new chlothes, despite Inko's protest in spending her Daddy's credit cards (who gives young children credit cards!?)

Izuku, Marinette and Chloe became a trio after that.

That was...until Adrien and Felix came into the picture.

In an universe where bakugo was quirkless and midoriya had one, how different do you think their school years would be?

OOF.

So like. The thing about Izuku and Katsuki is that, despite first appearances, Izuku is the one who doesn't exactly care what people think of him while Katsuki is the more people-pleaser one. Don't get me wrong, they have traits of each. Izuku internalized a lot of stuff that killed his self-esteem and Katsuki tells people to fuck off if they don't like the way he does things. But Izuku is a stubborn little shit who refused to give up despite 99.9% of the people in his life telling him he was useless, while Katsuki was the one who put all of his self-worth in his Quirk and his usefulness to others.

So Izuku, despite being treated as the golden child, is still going to stick by his friend and defend him because it's a lot harder to convince him that his friend is bad. And even if he is bad, it's his job as a Hero to save him, right?

Meanwhile Katsuki would lean into whatever he can that seems 'useful' to the adults in his life. Maybe something academic, or sports. But there'd still be the underlying 'you're not /enough/' thing that has him holding back, and even thinking that Izuku would be better off without him. Obvs he'd have a hard time changing his overall personality, but this would be used against him rather than cultivated as something to target others.

Of course though....

Izuku is more likely to seek help for others than himself. So when things start getting bad, he'd tell their parents. And while if we're talking CC-esque universe this would be a final straw toward the Inko/Hisashi divorce(Izuku being friends with some Quirkless kid would have caused a lot of fights already), you can bet your ass that Mitsuki and Masaru are going to raise absolute hell about that shit.

My Hero Au

(Note most of these are about Midoriya because I love him but I have a problem with the way he's been written. ) Okay so I love My Hero Academia but sometimes I want a more realistic version,

So for example.

Hisashi and Inko are divorced: Midoriya goes to his Dads on the weekend maybe he's married? Insert whatever Pro-Hero or OC you want. Make them have kids if you want so MIdoriya has Big/Little Brothers or Sisters.

Midoriya doesn't idolize Bakugou: Okay so I always found this aspect of My Hero Academia far fetched, why would Midoriya idolize someone who's bullied him for years. I get Bakugous a fan favourite but seriously? Maybe they have an annoying litle/big brother kind of relationship.

Bakugou has hearing aids: I mean do I even have to explain this.

Midoriya is poor: He lives in a flat that isn't really that bad but it just explains so. many. things. I mean his T-shirts are all the same just with different letterings maybe he bought a pack of one hundred plain cheap white T-Shirts and just printed words on them. In this Au he doesn't have that much hero merch. He probably bonds with Uraraka over money sharing hacks.

Midoriya's aspiration to be a hero: In the manga and anime there is no mention of Midoriya's other family, so I thought that Midoriya's quirklessnes could have been passed down so maybe one of his family members was quirkless and they commited suicide. Or was in general killed. This led to him wanting to change quirk society, and whats the most admired profession? Being a hero.

Any other ideas about ANYTHING to do with this idea (Other characters more realistic ideas, His relationship with his dad/Bakugou.) Would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Inko Midoriya: Hogwarts AU

Inko Midoriya is a pureblood witch that was born on the 4th of July 1955 and started attending Hogwarts on the 1st of September 1966, being sorted into Hufflepuff house.

During her Hogwarts years, she mostly hung out with her best friend Mitsuki but she was friendly with practically everyone of her classmates.

After graduating from Hogwarts, she worked at the Leaky Cauldron at first before she got married to a muggle man named Hisashi, with whom she had one son named Izuku with.

They divorced though after the prophecy about Izuku was made due to Hisashi not caring about his son enough to stay in his life due to the danger.

When the second Wizarding War began, she became a member of the Order of the Phoenix but unlike the other members she never participated in any major battles.

She eventually took in her son's friend Yuga after his parents tried to force him to become a Death Eater, with Yuga eventually seeing her as his mother and not his biological one.

During the Battle of Hogwarts, she was in hiding with Toshinori due to his injuries with her being tasked at keeping him safe during the battle.

After the war ended, she and Toshinori married and miraculously managed to have twin girls together despite their ages.

She has a pear wand with a unicorn hair core.

Her Patronus is a St. Bernard dog.

Her favorite subjects are Charms and Herbology.

Her least favorite subjects are Defense Against the Dark Arts and Flying.

Part 1

So, Tenko and Mon-chan end up running into an 7/8 year old Izuku being picked on by Bakugo and his cronies, and being the aspiring hero he is, Tenko beats them off of him.

This is when Nighteye finally catches up to him, but the ensuing berating is preempted by Izuku fanboying over meeting All Might’s sidekick and being saved by his adoptive son. 

( “I didn’t use my Quirk if that’s what you’re worried about,” “True, but at any point did you attempt to use one of those children as a weapon?” “Uh...”)

So, they accompany Izuku home, accidentally getting the down low on his Quirklessness, and Tenko decides to sneak some All Might and Nighteye contacts to a flustered Inko and an overjoyed Izuku.

Everything’s good for a while, as Izuku has a direct line to Sir Nighteye and gets to occasionally hang out with Tenko. But Inko relays all this to her amicably divorced husband, one Hisashi Midoriya, real name Tomura Shigaraki.

Yeah, this is a DFO AU. And he’s been looking for Tenko, and if nothing else, his Quirk would be useful.

This ends up leading directly to the final confrontation, and ensuing mutual cripplings. Difference is that AFO’s organization leaves the fight a little more organized, and All Might has more reasons to retire.

Both Torino and Nighteye think Toshinori should retire, and possibly pass down the Quirk to Tenko, by now a UA hopeful. Tenko refuses, knowing that he’s got a good enough Quirk already. But there’s this Quirkless nine year old...

Torino doesn’t want anything to do with the Midoriyas following the damage they unintentionally caused them, but he’s being unfair and they know it. Nighteye also objects, but on the more reasonable grounds that he’s nine. 

(He’s got time to learn!)

All Might’s still unsure, so he visits the Midoriyas on medical leave, and sees just much of a wreck they are, blaming themselves for what happened. So he comforts them, which turns to semi regular visits, which turns to the Midoriyas moving to Might Tower for Inko’s new job, which she did not get by seducing All  Might, what are you talking about? (Tenko’s smug, and Izuku thinks he’s dreaming or in a fanfic).

Izuku’s kinda living. He’s got a cool older brother figure, he’s being trained by freaking ALL  MIGHT, and and All Might may be into his mom? Sure, he’s still got the lingering guilt from getting him crippled, and the weird visions about his dad, but other than that he’s fine! Really!

But All Might’s semi-retirement, explained as a battle with a villain who idolized the MLA (Which isn’t wrong...) will have...consequences.
