Prompt 21 - Dive

“Where are we even supposed to start?!” Sirius wailed at the marauders sitting around two desks they’d shoved together in the library and stared at the mountain of homework they’d received in their first week back. “It’s our last year. It’s supposed to be great and look at what they’re doing to us!”

“It’s also N.E.W.T's, Pads,” Remus pointed out. 

“Yes, thank you, Moony, for the reminder, like I’d forgotten,” he snarked back. Remus narrowed his eyes and Sirius gulped. “Sorry,” he muttered, grabbing the textbook nearest to him and making a start on his charms essay. 

“I say we all just dive in,” Remus said, his voice light. “If we keep staring at it nothing will get done,” With a groan, they all opened their Charms textbooks and began writing. 

Sirius thought he was really in for it. He wasn’t usually rude to Remus, because that had consequences, albeit ones that he tended to enjoy when he shouldn’t. A shiver shot down his spine when Remus’s foot made contact with his leg and slowly stroked up and down. He gazed up at the man he loved and saw the promises glittering in Remus’s eyes. He doubled down on his efforts to get his homework done. The quicker it was done, the sooner he and Remus could disappear off together, and he couldn’t think of a better stress reliever than being ordered about for a couple of hours by Remus.
