Spoilers recently watched it
King magnifico was right👌
Oh forgot Disney needs to go back to the drawing board ASAP on how to make it great again.
Tumblr media
If you haven’t seen Wish yet and you love Disney, do not go see it. I am telling you now. It is ripping out the hearts of the Disney movies you love and then waving their corpses around as if celebrating those hearts.
Tumblr media
I’ll explain why, again: the message of Wish? Awful. Anti-Disney.
But they've been doing this for a long time. Saying one thing with their movies, and saying another with their PR and Disney Parks Soundtracks.
I'll explain.
Main Idea of Disney's Wish (and the You Are the Magic theme park song and merch): "The power to make your wishes come true is in you."
Most Disney Movies' Idea on How to Have Wishes: "Do what's right, (trust a higher power) and something even more wonderful than what you wished will happen."
Don't try to argue with me about this. You have to look underneath the slogans and the sweater designs and the song titles to what the stories actually support to acknowledge this.
Because you can’t say “do what’s right” has power unless you answer the question “who gets to decide ‘what’s right?’” (Which, coincidentally, is a question Wish brings up and then doesn’t answer.)
Audiences of Disney used to accept that wishing on a star was much like prayer; there’s something you long for, and it’s out of your hands, but you wish for it and you do what you know is right in the meantime. And you’re not crushed, you’re not downhearted, because somewhere in your mind you trust that the combo of those two things—wishing on a higher power and diligence to do what’s good—will be what makes your wish come true.
Tumblr media
Trust in a higher power—COMBINED WITH:
Tumblr media
—diligence to do what’s good.
The Blue Fairy (higher power) gave Geppetto his wish specifically because he had demonstrated commitment to do good, whether he got what he wanted or not. The Fairy Godmother (higher power) gave Cinderella her wish specifically because she kept on being kind and good to low creatures like mice and wicked stepsisters, whether she got what she wanted or not.
Tumblr media
Do you know why that combo (higher power + diligence to do good) is impactful? Timeless? Important?
Because it’s selfless. You want something, but you’re not going to sacrifice doing the right thing to get it. You’re not going to focus so hard on making what you want a reality, on your own, that you miss out on things that could be more important than what you want. And, you’re not so self-focused as to believe that if you don’t do it, it won’t get done.
Jeez, that’s the whole point of The Princess and the Frog!
Tumblr media
Tiana wishes to have her own restaurant, and she believes that only her own hard work will grant that wish. She misunderstands her dad’s advice before he dies. She isn’t willing to trust a higher power combined with her own diligence to do good—she only trusts her own ability.
Tumblr media
It’s not until she realizes that Ray, the character of faith, was right all along that she learns—what she wished for was too self-focused. It wasn’t complete without love. Something bigger than herself. And getting that was never going to happen just based on her own hard work.
But you know what? It was never going to happen just by a “higher-power” flavored shortcut, either. Because Facilier offers her her wish if she’ll just trust him, no hard work needed. But what does she say?
Tumblr media
Trust in a higher power + diligence to do what’s right = selflessness, and getting more than you could have ever wished for. And if your wish is selfish, doing those two things will change your wish into something selfless.
Tumblr media
More examples? Get ‘em while they’re hot, in case Wish made you forget, just like the current #NotMyDisney executives have forgotten, what real Disney wishes are for.
Tumblr media
Belle wishes to have adventures in the great wide somewhere--but when she's imprisoned and that chance is taken from her it's not reversed because she worked hard to make her wish come true. It's granted because she gave up her wish for her father: she just did the right thing, regardless of her wish. And in the end, she does get what she wished for, which is adventure in an enchanted castle...and much more, because she gets true love, a throne, and a castle full of friends.
Tumblr media
How about the One Who Started It All? The one Wish is failing to pay genuine tribute to?
Tumblr media
Snow White wishes for someone to love her, and he does--but when they're separated, she does not exercise power to make The Prince come back to her. Instead, she loves who she can where she’s at—the Dwarfs. In the meantime, she has faith that he will keep his promise, and that pure trust in a higher power outside of her control is a big contributing factor to why the Dwarfs come to love her, and learn from her...and in the end, even more than she could've wished happens. He does take her to his castle, but she also has seven new friends who also love her, and the Queen is dead. And she didn’t need to use “the power in her” to work harder and get it done. She just needed to not focus so much on herself at all.
Tumblr media
How about a male main character? One who’s wish starts out selfish, but after learning to wish on a higher power and be diligent to do the right thing, gets more than he could wish for?
Tumblr media
Aladdin wishes to be somebody different (somebody he believes Jasmine could love, somebody who lives in a palace and is respected and “never has any troubles at all.”)—but doing everything in his own power for that wish proves that it was selfish all along; so he switches to doing the right thing, regardless of if his wish comes true, and he gets even more than he could’ve wished. He gets real love with Jasmine, he gets his friend Genie, and he gets to be free from feeling “trapped” because he doesn’t have to hide who he is anymore.
Tumblr media
Or Simba?
Tumblr media
Simba wishes to get to do whatever he wants as King—but when Mufasa dies and he’s convinced it’s his fault, it isn’t for that wish that he goes back to Pride Rock to confront his past and his Uncle. It’s because he had an encounter with a higher power—his father—that helped him to realize his wish was selfish all along. He gives up the selfish wish, and he goes back to take his place as king, not so he can do whatever he wants, but so that he can take self-sacrificial responsibility that comes with ruling. And because he just does the right thing, finally, he gets more than what he wished for.
Tumblr media
How about something more recent? Zootopia.
Tumblr media
Judy wishes to make the world a better place by proving she can be what she wants to be and catching bad guys—but when she tries to make her wish happen on her own, in her own abilities, she fails and is forced to realize that she should’ve been looking for help by understanding “bad guys,” like Nick. It’s only after she humbled herself, admits she’s wrong, and changes her wish from “proving I can be what I want and catching bad guys” to “proving that understanding each other makes the world a better place” (much less self-focused) that her wish comes true—and so much more. She does make the world a better place, and she does get to catch bad guys, but she also gets to befriend one who was a good guy all along, and become all-around more effective at her dream job.
Tumblr media
This is how Disney always has been. Because it’s at the heart of good storytelling, and even life (not to get too dramatic.)
The power is not in you. Because it’s not about you. Self-sacrifice, faith, and doing the next right thing regardless of if you get your heart’s fondest desire is what makes more than just your wishes come true. And there has to be belief in a higher power to make that message powerful.
Tumblr media
But Wish?
Not only is it bad at showing instead of telling. Not only is it lazy and soulless.
But it’s characters rip the Star out of the sky and say “don’t wish on this. Wish on yourself, to get what you wish for. You don’t need a higher power. You don’t even need to sacrifice to do what’s good—whatever you do is good, because you are the one doing it.”
That is wrong. That is not true, and it is not powerful. There’s no sacrifice in focusing on or placing your trust totally in yourself, and it undoes every good thing Disney has done up until now.
And it undoes it on the 100th anniversary, and it flaunts Easter eggs of the very things it’s undoing.

Why you should watch Renegade Nell
Welcome back to the newest addition of shows you should watch. Today we have Renegade Nell. So who is Nell?
Tumblr media
Nell Jackson (and yes this is Orla from Derry Girls and she is just as brilliant here)is a woman who comes back from war to her village after discovering that for some unknown reason she has superpowers. She has the same personality as our beloved Korra and Ava Silva. She fiercly protects her loved ones, she hates injustice, she questions authority and she tends to solve most of her problem with punching people. After protecting her sister from the creepy Lord's son their father gets killed she and her sisters are forced to go on the run
Tumblr media
The only person to help them is the Lord's "servant" aka slave Rassalas. One of the few good men who truly stand for justice
Tumblr media
They also joined forces with Charles a first class Himbo who is there for the vibes and to get beaten up by everybody and become Outlaws who rob the rich
As time progresses Nell accidentally becomes the most wanted person in Britain and intereferes with the schemes of an evil Jacobist Mage who wants to take down the Queen but the real interesting villain is Sofia
Tumblr media
No this is not Katie McGrath altouh the charcter has been based so blatantly on her portrayal of Morgana both in look and in story that I am pretty sure she can sue. So if you are having Katie McGrath withdrawl issues or you want to see what is essentially a Morgana AU fanfic filmed by Disney you will enjoy her
But is there gay you ask?
Nell shows zero romantic or sexual interest in anybody but we have our lovely Poly who has a bisexual awakening when she sees Nell and spends most of her time having fantasties and writing poems about her. She is living her best life and is here for it

I found myself thinking of Jekyll today and wondering if it causes him physical pain to have to fake a smile. To what extent is Henry Jekyll, pleasant doctor and sophisticated upperclass gentleman a painful mask he has to wear and does the discomfort ever feel physical?
I was at the local aquarium today (this is the perfect time of year to go because it's open but there are no tourists so it's never crowded and admission is cheap) hanging out and doodling on one of the benches while I watched the fish. I had on headphones to listen to an audio book and to provide a buffer between myself and anyone who might try to talk to me and I had been looking forward to relaxing for a couple of hours when a family walked up and the father waved his hand in front of my face to get my attention. The minute they started asking me questions about what I was drawing I was filled with what I can only describe as intense dismay.
Obviously the family being present isn't in of itself an issue, it's a public aquarium, it's aimed at families and parts of the aquarium are geared specifically at children, but the family noticed me drawing and stopped to talk to me.
I reiterate that this was not something they did wrong, they were just being friendly, but I was really not prepared to have a conversation and I found the whole ordeal to be...well an ordeal. They were interested in what I was drawing (a sketch of Henry Jekyll because he's been on my mind off and on) and just the thought of having to explain who this character was, hoping they got it, and having to potentially explain why I was drawing him felt overwhelming.
And it was, they did not know who Henry Jekyll was, they were vaguely aware of Jekyll and Hyde but weren't the type of people to read classic literature and had never heard of the musical or actually seen for themselves any movies featuring the character. The mom commented that he looks like "a Disney villain from back in the 90s" which...fair assessment, I can't pretend I don't see why she would have thought that. The older kid was probably the most interested and wanted to see more of my drawings which made me really uncomfortable but I let him look through my sketchbook anyway because his parents kept saying he was interested in drawing and he loves art and I felt too anxious to say no.
I made small talk with the parents for a while, all the usual, "what's your name, where you from, what's your job?" (I hate those questions, they are usually the least interesting things about any people, myself included) and I wondered if this is what Henry does on a regular day. Has ordinary conversations with reasonably nice people and feel completely like a fish out of water the whole time. I felt pretty terrible about it too, I didn't have any hard feelings or resentment but the whole time I was thinking "Stop touching my things, go away, please fucking leave so I can get back to my audio book and my drawing. I just wanted to sit with the fish for a few hours because it's supposed to be quiet here this time of year."
No one ever seems to catch on that physically talking to people is an effort for me. I've gone my whole life and no one has ever noticed that I'm anxious or uncomfortable in situations where I have to speak out loud because I've gotten good at faking small talk and I know how to make my voice sound pleasant.
It's strange because I express myself easily enough in writing and I like messaging with people over text but the minute I have to be verbal with people I don't know I feel like I'm putting on an immense effort. I have to consciously choose a tone, figure out what words I want to say, be ready with an explanation in case I'm asked questions and I have to do all of it in real time on the spot. It feels like improve, like I'm constantly doing an improve routine and I know most people would say "Just be yourself!" But myself doesn't want to be doing this at all. Myself wants to be drawing and looking at fish. Even as a child I was never very social, I liked to doodle or daydream or build with my lego sets. I got reprimanded a lot for being too quiet. So I made myself more talkative and learned how to hold conversations. I learned to blend in but it's so tiring at times and I can swear when it's at its worst it feels almost physical. The discomfort becomes a suffocating "texture" on my skin and in my brain and I have to keep pretending like I don't notice it because every time I try to articulate how I feel people don't understand it. It's just not a thing they experience.
So I just keep "acting normal," and wonder if there's something wrong with me, like I'm operating on a different frequency from the people around me and I'm the only one on that frequency so other people don't even know it exists. It's...incredibly isolating at times. Even my partner doesn't seem to hear the world as loud as I do or experience the "texture" it's just a strange THING that I'm stuck with by myself. I wonder if it was the same for Henry Jekyll? Except instead being of too quiet he was too loud, too boisterous, threw tantrums, didn't know when to stop rambling about anatomy and weird gross medical facts. So he learned how to cover it and move through life pretending to be interested in everyone else but keenly aware they could never share his interests because his favorite subjects were too grisly and if he started talking about diseases he'd put everyone off. I head-canon Jekyll loves what he does, but he doesn't love it for reasons a doctor should, he doesn't care that much about healing the sick, he cares about conquering illnesses, he likes to learn about symptoms, he enjoys the disgusting viscera of his work. But he can't let on that this is what he enjoys about his work because that's not noble or heroic, it's something most people would find creepy of him. So he buries it and pretends he cares about curing the sick. He pretends he enjoys talking to people who don't know anything about who he is or what he does but they think they do because they are aware of doctors and understand that medicine exists. All the time he loathes it, it exhausts him and he can't even indulge in activities he enjoys to blow of steam because he enjoys things like brawling, doing drugs, and fucking. All things a man of his status shouldn't be seen doing. There's an image people associate with Henry Jekyll and it's an image he can't afford to tarnish...
but it's not really HIS image, it's just a buffer he keeps up to make himself more palatable. I wonder if that ever hurts him physically, if the mask ever feels like a "texture" muffling him.
there are times when I feel like it's no wonder he wasn't repulsed by Hyde when he first saw his reflection. Because I can only imagine by the time Hyde showed up he was already completely burnt out on being Jekyll.

CHARACTER STUDY: Megavolt, the representation of insanity or of a person with a disability issues?”
Tumblr media
> Introduction
Good morning, good afternoon, good night and dawn, when you know you should be sleeping, but you're on the internet to read creative and extremely specific texts from fans — ANYWAY, welcome everyone! My name is Lauanny, you can call me Annie, today I wanted to try to present an idea that It had in partnership with my dear friend (Beatriz, applause, please). This means that it will have to restrain myself a lot so as not to give away some spoilers, but someday it will do that when everything is ready.
It would like to initially warn you that this is a blog about character studies while also considering factors in a more serious tone of the character's actions, with that, there will be mention of attempted murder. Night terrors and psychological and health problems. The reflection here is about some ideas that may be more closely linked to future representations of the character. If you disagree or want to add, feel free to do so, I'm not the type who will be upset to hear your point. Just politeness and respect between the comments, that's enough to deal with the mistakes It may make. Please let me know if there are any grammar or information errors in the translation. With that, HERE WE GO!
> Important warnings about sensitive content; possibly mentioning violence and psychological/physical issues.

> Darkwing Duck Series - Taking everything the show SAYS for itself
“Darkwing Duck” is a television series produced between 1991–1992 by Disney's main channel, being a spin-off of its classic show, “Ducktales: the adventure hunters” telling what we already know from the show's trajectory. Simple in its genre, but interesting information to the most attentive eyes can easily question how much the script was treated as just a comedy, superhero, and adventure animation.
It is a fact that proves this point by treating the past of the character, Megavolt / Elmo Sputterspark, with more serious eyes. In the show, his true character is introduced in Crash Reunion, episode 10, third season. In this episode, Elmo Sputterspark is presented as a typical intelligent student with a promising future, however. It turns out that, among so many days of bullying, a few weeks before the prom, the young rodent is trapped in his science project by his recurring bullies, Hamilton Spring and his girlfriend Preena Lott. Remembering that the project consisted of using the electric current from the treadmill to light a light bulb, the character spent indefinite hours running until he freed himself by burning the motor. When he touches a doorknob, he awakens his electrical powers and slowly begins to thirst for revenge. He follows those responsible for this event at the prom, fortunately stopped by a younger Darkwing Duck (who very ironically was Drake Mallard, a classmate of his from some year in the 70s). In the present of the episode Megavolt, the current Elmo Sputterspark, after surrendering to crime. Has a memory trigger and decides to have revenge for his first plan, and along the way discovers the identity of his enemy and even gains an advantage. However, he is defeated by being stuck with oil (I hope so) and when he tries to threaten the hero duck, he has a complete crisis of forgetfulness, and his router's battery runs out.
> Darkwing Duck Fandom - Building everything that was formed for the fans together with the most indirect interpretations perceived in my participation when writing or drawing with lore
Megavolt, as you would imagine, is one of the super villains in the main cast. The affection for the character is so great that there are from the creator himself to the smallest fans attracted by his charismatic and considerably eccentric personality. There is an extreme variety in what fans are used to doing, fanart, fanfiction, blogs, memes, stickers, interactions with their own characters (family relationships, friendships, dating). And it is an important point to add because the character has passed through countless hands and will continue to do so. From my knowledge many agree that the character is a rodent, intimate interactions with the Fearsome Four (I know that some are romantic as it could be just Platonic). It does not write five because his interaction with Negaduck is turbulent like 99% of the characters in the show. Some observations are the indirect references to the character that range from his name to references that relate to his memory problems. And, what if I told you now that this is much deeper than you think at first glance? Okay, follow me below, and you will hear everything, well, almost everything because there is a story to write about AU.

> Megavolt/Elmo Sputterspark - Story adapted without extreme spoilers, just adding the changes, ideas on his biological identity and influence:
Elmo Sputterspark/Megavolt has always been of special interest to me. I won't lie that eccentric characters don't immediately steal my attention. The adaptation I used had no references at all. In the version, I tried to create an interpretation that was a little more appropriate to more serious series and work only a few references within the Fandom's ideas. Despite everything, It still consider each part that is presented throughout his appearances (and when I say each, It MEAN EVERY DETAIL). Crash Reunion has a more serious and considerably possible approach in my notebook in the course of the characters' development. Especially when the fact that brought the plot of the episode is exactly the mistakes that Drake Mallard makes influencing his heroic persona. Some events that It warn you still maintain are the concept; the differences would be in the time given for the accident to affect the character (much more time than you can imagine than Elmo spent running in the flashback). Another important change is that Darkwing Duck failed, unlike the first heroic action he defeated the villain, this would not have happened because it extends the timeline between the 1990 and 2017 versions. The truth is that the first time he had to seriously face Megavolt in a risky situation, he ENDED UP LOSING and this had consequences for the others as well. This time, Megavolt was responsible for the death of a considerable group of some former students of the old St Canard and Hamilton and Preena are among the main targets (for now it is directly stated that it was MEGAVOLT who committed the crime).
Another thing It consider is to reformulate exactly the information about the two visits to the electric chair, he would only have gone ONCE. However, It does not disregard the second time in the sense that he still wants to use it to work on what happened in his mind after the second OVERLOAD. Exactly, a visit to the electric chair and an overload in this version. An interesting and somewhat silly fact is that I considered that the character would be a mix between animals, half dog and half rat. It seems silly at first, but considering how much some mutations (whether genetically, individually good or bad, disability, how can I explain it) influenced the mutation of his superpowers. In some drafts, despite some ideas of family origin, the final result is that the character is a mere American, with influences in his more distant relatives from indigenous to European. I would bet on a member of the Iroquois people as much as a Russian immigrant (or some nationality from Eastern/Eastern Europe). In truth, I haven't fully defined it yet, so it serves as a suggestion for you in your own notes.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
> Development:
There are three topics that I can mention that I will be working on throughout my writing in LYG (and also my participation with PU, Beatriz's AU). The first is to work on social change from the 1945s. Elmo Sputterspark, as confirmed, was a typical genius student, fond of exact sciences, good grades, curious and politely cute, but vulnerable to bad people. One fact that I consider is to work on the difference between American and Brazilian bullying. Many say that it refers to a type like this or type like that, however. It considers it to take exactly the social classifications and behaviour according to some readings that It has already done through blogs and Reddit (if you delve deeper, you will see that it is no small thing even today). An example that I think of in some concepts is when the character had suffered from hair loss, which came mainly from the trauma of when in childhood Hamilton cut his hair until his ears were visible. It's a cruel example, but this type of situation would continue over the years, until at some point it resulted in the actions at the reunion of the old students of the main academy of Saint Canard. However, it's not just pain that would come to the character. Have small blocks to add, someone to help him during the most difficult days of summer, especially to give a flying kick to specific bullies that fans are interested in. One fact that was pointed out that could be seen as differences is in the way that the writers can bring back the villain's superpowers. It varies a lot according to the way they want to fit it into the story and the interpretation of the AUs together. Beatriz and I put forward to consider the impacts of the accident to the rodent, which, regardless of whether it was, perhaps a project that gradually became overloaded. An abnormality, special equipment or reference to other characters, the issue that brought the powers that we know, is exactly THE OVERLOAD carried out during the event. When Elmo wakes up from it, regardless of the form, it is exactly the aftermath of the artificial electricity acting on the tiny portion of the brain's electricity. Gradually becoming so much that it would hinder the bearer's ability to remove it from his limbs (yes, this small logic is broad for anything that wants to add or rewrite its origin, and, unintentionally, there was a clue as to how it happened in the main story).
> Construction of electromagnetic and electrical powers
Talking comes, talking goes, won't beat around the bush, just adding to the organization. The main fact is exactly to remember in the post that, considering that in the main version (used in Purple Union and Little Yellow Girl AU) the electricity that came into contact with Elmo during the accident is both organic and artificial. Over the time he was in contact with the charge it gradually came into contact with his energy waves until at a certain point the process and storage of neurons was completely broken (if you want to research in depth, you will understand that this is exactly what I say next). When Elmo's brain came in, in short, the artificial electricity kind of altered the waves of his neurons, which gradually. In addition to giving him incredible electrical powers, it would also gradually eat away at the few functional cells in his brain and influence his thirst for revenge. >
Tumblr media
> Consequences
Among all the factors that I have heard or read according to fans or based on research abroad, there are four factors that I think can be used to address the difficulties and changes in Megavolt/Elmo's life. Remember that this is data that I found on websites and official documents by health professionals, even so I am not a professional. I am presenting references for something small that can be added and provide recognition of these conditions and if familiar, seek out a health professional nearby. They are popularly known as:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder — PTSD
Alzheimer's
Dementia
Epilepsy
> Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder — PTSD
Known as "Post-traumatic Stress Disorder" here as PTSD, the disorder is recognized as the difficulty after a high-stress event. It can last for months or years, and many people with this disorder may try to avoid returning to the event as much as possible, whether due to memories, triggers, or having spent time with the person or place. Many things can result in PTSD, and one of the main ones that raised the point for the character to carry this condition would be his exaggerated reactions when the subject is about some event from the past. Depending on what it is, it can even bring positivity, however, for those who have the condition, any trigger that has brought pain into their life tends to have strong consequences for their safety.
In a certain rewrite, the thought of remembering school days would not simply have only the good times. Megavolt is essentially forgetful and with the temperament of a threatened bull. In consideration of this, he may initially not present fear until slowly the memories try to remember what brought him there. From social isolation after the abrupt end of their plans to the future, from the repetition of what would be expected to never be seen again, the consequences of years of bullying, verbal, social, and physical. One thing to consider is that some symptoms vary, but they present the same traits, and for a moment of transition of their enthusiasm. It could easily be exchanged for a panic attack mixed with thirst for repressed fury for so many years. Aggressiveness and emotional indifference are some visible signs, and can be broad or on a smaller scale, varying according to the symptoms in the sufferer. The possible additional symptoms include: Physical reactions such as stress or fatigue:
Hypervigilance:
Panic attack:
Anxiety attack:
Nervousness:
Distrust:
Hopelessness:
Indifference / Emotional Detachment:
Headache:
Agitation:
Hostility:
Aggressiveness:
Irritability:
Hallucination:
Insomnia:
Sleep Deprivation:
Unwanted Thoughts:
> Alzheimer's dementia
Alzheimer's disease is recognized as a progressive disease responsible for the degradation of brain cells and is caused by genetic factors, such as an abnormal gene in the predominant trait of ancestors. It is commonly believed that the disease consumes the brain's strength until the individual is completely unable to perform their activities due to damage to the area of the body known as the hippocampus and the cerebral cortex (and there are other similar diseases, such as neurodegenerative diseases: Alzheimer's, Dementia, Korsakoff Syndrome, Huntington's, stroke, Head injury or tumour, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, Creutzfeldt-Jakob, multiple sclerosis, normal pressure hydrocephalus, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, depression, and ADHD…). One factor responsible for the genetic abnormality of Alzheimer's is some lipoproteins in the cholesterol in the bloodstream. There are three types of lipoproteins:
Epsilon-4: (Leads to earlier development of Alzheimer's)
Epsilon-2: (Leads to a decrease and some safety in Alzheimer's)
Epsilon-3: (Leads to neutrality between developing or not). An important part that I will highlight from the sources (everything will be at the end of the post) is that it is not in any way a routinely recommended test. As any disease in the field of cells and brain can lead to having it, it is commonly done in middle-aged individuals.
In some rewrites, Alzheimer's is one of the most popularly known diseases and is often reviewed in some indirect way among characters who have had their past taken away. Whether by force or by chance, the main consideration is demarcating that Elmo will not have it completely. However, he would gradually go through some signs as he would lose connection with his reality. A significant fact to mention is that Alzheimer's disease is commonly targeted at middle-aged people, and a fact that could point to the approximation is exactly the character who originally is in his 30s to 40s (I read the Reboot notes). Even though, it is not completely impossible for the disease to be present in younger people. However, in a headline a century ago from “the Journal for Alzheimer's Disease”. Reported in Beijing, China, a case of gradual memory loss lasting two years in a 19-year-old from Beijing, China, was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. Becoming the youngest patient to have the condition in the world and being treated by finding beta-amyloid in his brain in the hippocampus. I could mention the age that the character would have during the course of the story, however, for now I will say that he was born (in this interpretation) on 09/16/1964. The main fact is that he would present considerably signs of a little of each of the conditions mentioned. However, one fact is not directly linked to another so easily, each reference influences in some way to itself and the additional possible symptoms are from:
People may experience:
Disorientation (partially):
Forgetfulness:
Difficulty concentrating:
Difficulties and Loss of recent memory (there is an additional point that your implicit or declarative memory has recovery points at an average level):
Agitation/Restlessness:
“Personality” changes:
Difficulty performing functions:
Lack of or wandering aimlessly:
Apathy (significant on average):
Mood swings, anger or loneliness:
Hallucination:
Paranoia:
Rhythmic muscle contractions:
Disorientation:
Slurred speech (rare signal):
Limited social skills:
> Dementia in general
Dementia is recognized as not being a disease, but rather as a group of cognitive and social symptoms that interfere with the individual's daily activities. Characterized by dysfunction of at least two functions, such as memory and discernment, in the brain. This suggests that Alzheimer's is a type of dementia and a term used to describe poor function in the area of the cerebral cortex. With treatments that help deal with the progression of cells, there are medications to treat the symptoms brought on by the passing of the years, perhaps not preventing them completely, but helping to improve the health of the body.
In this part of the post, in the rewrite, I confirm with a green flag that the problem in question that I would mark as total would be dementia. As it would be the field that would most encompass a behavioural analysis of the character's day-to-day difficulties. It would also represent some possible consequences for the aftermath of the genetic mutation in the character. At this point, I mention an important fact that developed over the years. Megavolt's thinking contains, to a certain extent, temperament issues. Considering that certain occasions of indifference and raising of the voice with triggers are not necessarily wilful, but are partly caused by a short temper, poor communication and low tolerance in moments of mild to serious stress. This consensus caught me when I was remembering Quackerjack's mentions with the nickname “Sparky” and that somehow it seemed very much like he repressed as much as possible the impulses of verbal threats to violence. Which, contrary to what normally happens in crises/anger attacks, tends to lead to impulsive choices at the time and then accommodated by a dose of guilt and shame (something that I will try to present directly in the future via text, stay tuned).
> Epilepsy
Epilepsy is recognized as a disease in which there is a disturbance in the activity of nerve cells, gradually causing temporary convulsions, which can present as a crisis or epileptic fits. It can occur both generically and due to injuries, lesions, trauma, or substance abuse that affect the cerebral vascular system. An epileptic fit occurs with the contraction of muscles, or rather, as a switch from voluntary to involuntary contractions or muscle paralysis. Among the signs throughout the body, there may be loss of control of movements, incomprehensible speech, tremors, chewing on the tongue (or even rolling it up), intense salivation, panting, and this will result in what the individual's gaze does. Often, because it can occur for a short period of time, it is often not noticed by family members, caregivers, or even teachers. At the end of the recurrence, the person does not remember what happened during or before the involuntary seizure, called a partial seizure (consciousness is not influenced) and a complex seizure (consciousness is impacted). Generalized seizures define those that affect the person in a generalized manner, as the name suggests. There are some types of generalized seizures:
Absence seizure: characterized by the behaviour of staring into space, spaced out, and may make subtle movements, such as blinking.
Myoclonic seizures: characterized by sudden movements, such as sudden jerks or spasms in the arms and legs;
Atonic seizures: characterized by loss of muscle control, which can lead to sudden falls or uncertain movements.
Atonic seizures: This type of seizure causes loss of muscle control, which can lead to sudden falls.
Tonic seizures: characterized by muscle rigidity, generally affecting the muscles of the arms, legs, and back. They can also cause falls;
Clonic seizures: characterized by causing rhythmic and repetitive movements. Tonic-clonic seizures. In this type, there is loss of consciousness, rigidity, and tremors throughout the body, and in some cases, loss of control of the bladder and tongue. This is the most well-known type of seizure, when the patient struggles. The symptoms in addition to your profile:
Fainting/Fatigue:
Tingling:
Visual or sensory symptoms:
Amnesia:
Mental confusion:
Seizures:
Headache:
Temporary paralysis:
If we are now referring to the representation of Megavolt/Elmo, he takes on a considerable role in the situations in which he lives together and, many times. It is the result of a physical overload of electricity running through his veins. Furthermore, in reference to one of the actions that occurs when he pushes his body's energy limits, and one of the reasons for merging with his crisis episodes. And one of the factors that led to this connection came from the character's defeats, in which Darkwing Duck or company used water, or an overload of their powers to defeat him. With the change in tone, it is possible to direct that this was one of the reasons for considering the influence of the development of these symptoms on the character. Another fact that is considerably open to work on his psychology within his arcs until his last appearance in the AUs. It will still be studied a little more to improve the writing of the subject, even though it already contains its own notes on PTSD. It is essential to make progress to improve and find a way to show the individuality in the rat
An important fact to mention is that, despite the differences, the relationship between the Fearsome Five has undergone some considerable changes. However, the essence between the four members carries a considerable essence, even with the relationship problems and threats caused by Negaduck. An essential piece of information to be said is that as Megavolt's experience progresses, health issues begin to appear that influence a considerable dependence to treat some negligence, difficulty remembering and performing simple activities. More information and it's a bucket of unintentional gossip.

> Creative writing: what ideas can be worked and how can each one fit in?
Relationships with the Fearsome Four:
A great approach for the group of villains is to explore how interactions work, their development. Mainly, to address how they can help their little friend with his difficulties in everyday life and how sometimes he can have both good and bad days in relation to trying to be his emotional support. Negaduck is also a good placement, he could work on how both good and bad relationships can affect his personality. If it is thanks to this or that he can give in to crises or because he is someone trying to deal with everything alone for fear of being dependent. However, who can gradually show again that support in some way is essential to give him independence of his identity.
Relationships with family members:
Every character in Darkwing Duck, unlike the protagonist who has a daughter and frequently interacts with the audience, there are few characters who have any affinity with their family members, even with some small mentions. For example: Liquidator has already mentioned his cousin, Morgana has a large family, Drake has his ancestors and his adopted daughter, but what about other characters like Megavolt? Well, I say that here, it would give writers and artists total freedom to play with the concepts. They could give the same country, brothers, uncles, cousins, grandparents, even adoptive purposes that were built from friendship and relationships of consideration for a negligent environment, in the same way as giving a romantic partner. However, the point I'm getting at for now is about the certain almost coming of working a possible son into the character. Of course, the artists could even swap it for a daughter and even the fans themselves with OCs, the point is that this fact would give an influential sequence to the character. A child in their care could have countless origins, the focus on their presence would be the changes it would give to the character's personality. Would this kid be a joy for him? Just a bait? An emotional support over time, together? A line between sanity and domestic life? Or how could little Isha (Arcane) end her days to give the total loss of hope? Well, I don't tremble at all with the hands of a person committed to a message.
Non-intimate relationships and relationships with strangers:
Now let's get to the comment that would cause the most confusion among the common citizens of the city and the lawyers of the lunatic gentleman. Would there be a way to work on this without disregarding his crimes and the terror he caused to ordinary people? Would this influence his emotional indifference if it came back to haunt him? It could open up many ideas, perhaps the rodent's going to a reformatory, a psychiatric clinic or even moments of his monitoring sessions with a psychologist or therapist. Maybe there would be someone who could be a helping hand to show him other sides. Would giving him a future if he is at the end of his line of conscience or lack of security for others open up space to debate Megavolt's redemption? Well, the numerous answers are all valid, and it would be interesting to hear from each one what would be in their argument. This also applies to the relationships of enemies like Megavolt with Darkwing Duck and how much this influences his development. Whether there is variation, resentment, or that it brings some small sense of morality regarding his opinion to the hero's companions. It would be possible to play with the other topics in the smallest interactions. Such as a possible neutrality that would lead to leaving LP, Honker and Gosalyn alone or even that there would be no sense that would prevent him from hurting the hero emotionally.
Tumblr media
Closing:
I thank everyone who had the patience to listen to some ideas of my anxious personality, I continue trying to have something that can be recognized and that can interact with the other people present. And probably some, coming from Instagram, must have thought of the original characters that Beatriz and I made, and that includes Isabella and little Vanna. Recently, I will try to help in the return of her main universe if I don't go back to writing the fifth chapter of LYG's story for 12/26. However, well, if you want to participate in throne-year anniversary of progress by sending questions, I would love to draw them while I'm helping in the Purple Union AU. So, if you want to help us with support or questions, we will try to answer them without spoiling the fun. I hope you enjoyed it, see you soon!

Doctor Who Needs to Call a Midwife
Note: discusses the episodes "Space Babies" and "The Devil's Chord" in some detail.
Well, that most recent episode of Doctor Who wasn't very good, so let's talk about these Doctor Who thoughts on Tumblr, where they belong.
There's no easy way to put it: the most recent episode was bad. It was just terrible. That's not new for Doctor Who, a show which is almost always unkempt in either charming or disappointing ways. But it was bad in a certain kind of way that doesn't bode well for the show for a couple of reasons.
Tumblr media
One thing that will likely continue to be an issue (and was also a problem with "The Star Beast") is that Davies seems fairly behind on 2020s queer media, which is sad, since his first run was arguably a pioneer of "incidental" queerness in TV. "The spooky undefinable menace is, uhhhh... non-binary" feels years behind the curve.
(His first run was mocked at the time for how often, say, an alien would mention her wife, and though it's true Davies rarely chooses subtlety, it's still hard to envision most people rolling their eyes so much today. He was blunt AND a step ahead! Now he's just as blunt, but it feels regressive.)
The issues with representation are also related to issues with story: both are exacerbated by his love of camp (especially as British camp has somewhat different contexts) and his writing too many episodes in a row. The latter was also part of what went wrong with Chibnall's run. What is it with British showrunners resisting co-writers?*
*This is a largely rhetorical question: TV production in the U.K. differs from American practices, &c. But it is, perhaps, simply not possible to write Doctor Who in the same way one might write a season-long procedural.
How bad is it? The most recent episode had the villain break the fourth wall in the opening and closed with the Doctor winking at the camera (this is SEPARATE from him commenting on diegetic music earlier), which kicked off a pointless, expensive, and very bad song-and-dance sequence that felt more like vamping than anything they planned.
Tumblr media
To paraphrase Lucy Dacus, "That's only something you would put in a script / when you've been the sole credited writer for too long."
So far, the series seems absolutely drunk on Disney money: "Space Babies" contains an elaborate (from a technical perspective) opening sequence involving CGI dinosaurs and heavy make-up. That money would be better allocated towards a co-writer.
Tight writing has never been Doctor Who's selling point (at least in its modern incarnation). In fact, part of what can be interesting about the show is how it embraces hand-waving (the sonic screwdriver) and the cheap tricks that underlie even Serious, Literary writing. But it's also chronically overindulgent no matter who's been overseeing it, and it turns what can be a charming, goofy show into twee, look-at-me bullshit. The "Space Babies" episode wasn't bad (although probably not the best follow-up to the premiere), but the Doctor's repeated tic of correcting himself ("the babies—space babies!—") is what this overindulgence looks like in miniature; the events of "The Devil's Chord" are what it looks like at scale.
Tumblr media
Doctor Who has never pretended to have Star Trek's (somewhat overstated) scientific edge, but The Doctor has been a consistently rational figure in a world which, though it appears to be nonsensical, is ultimately understandable given enough perspective. The Toymaker was fine as a one-off, but now the Doctor is talking about a "pantheon" and "gods" who don't follow rules or logic, and this should be cause for concern. Doctor Who, a show which frequently fluxes (in good ways and bad) between absurd and serious, is already prone to "eh, whatever, this happens next" storytelling. For Davies to introduce figures with powers "beyond time and space" or "outside the universe" or whatever just makes the show more vulnerable to messiness. Even if everything they've thrown into the season so far comes together, and even if there's some sort of "lore" reason for this wackiness in the season finale, it doesn't make watching the individual episodes themselves any better. They still have to work as episodes.
Tumblr media
Davies writing seven out of the nine (intrusive thought: "Jeri Ryan Murphy") episodes this season, depending on how you count them, while also juggling the bits of serialization leading to the finale and consulting on spin-offs, &c. is probably just too much for someone to do.
The "return of Doctor Who" is hardly as triumphant as the specials, with muddled and meandering storytelling. Chase sequences abruptly lull for other plot points to happen, then resume, as if the monster were patiently waiting off-screen. Episodes are filled with BIG ENERGY and afterwards you realize they were just about the characters being in a building, going outside, and then going back into a building, and doing nothing of consequence except talking wildly about all the things that were supposedly happening. Despite the reduced episode count, there's an excess that isn't backed up by substance. If more people aren't going to write for it, then the show could use an Adipose pill or two.

The "Echo" Chamber - Another Marvel/BH6 Character Discussion
Tumblr media
So for those of you who may not be in the know, Echo is dropping on Disney+ today. Now, a lot of people have varying amounts of Marvel Fatigue and may not be interested in this series, but I will actually be super interested in how they handle the protagonist herself.
Because you see, I'm a big fan of Maya Lopez.
Not necessarily the MCU one...
Tumblr media
But the comic one.
So here's a little backstory into the superhero known as Echo.
One of her defining characteristics (whether it's a good thing or not) is that she is one of the few deaf characters in Marvel comics. What she lacks in hearing she more than makes up for in her fighting abilities, as she has the same ability as Taskmaster: to replicate any movement or action perfectly while only seeing it once. With that, she's one of the best fighters in the entire Marvel universe.
Her father worked for Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin, and after being in his employ for a long time, Fisk kills him. William makes him promise to take care of her daughter, which he does. After shooting him, Maya finds him, but not before leaving the trademark handprint of his blood on her face.
Tumblr media
Fisk would take Maya in, sender her off to a gifted school, and trained her with her skills. He would later convince her that Matt Murdock (Daredevil) was the one who killed her father. After several issues in the 1999 run of Daredevil, secrets would be revealed, and Maya would blind Fisk by shooting out both of his eyes.
And you though my version of Kate was crazy.
Tumblr media
After going on a personal quest to find herself, Maya would later get recruited into the New Avengers on the recommendation of Matt. She used the guise of Ronon (a former alias of Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye). Over the years, she played a central part in the New Avengers run and the events World War Hulk and Secret Invasion, being one of the first to discover that Jessica Drew was a Skrull.
Later, she moved to LA and went undercover before having to blow said cover to save Moon Knight. They teamed up together to take down the Kingpin of LA, but not before she was killed by Count Nefaria.
Of course, we know that being dead means literally nothing in the Marvel universe, and she shows up alive and well taking down another attempt of a villain taking over NYC.
For a while, Maya was out of action, not appearing in comics for almost five years.
And then?
Well.
Tumblr media
And then entered the Phoenix.
"Enter The Phoenix" was a story arc in the 2018 Avengers run that saw heroes and villains alike in a "competition" to see who would wield the power of the Phoenix. I put that in quotes because it wasn't really much of a battle; the Avengers figured out there were other things going on.
But it didn't really matter in the end because guess who ended up with the power of the Phoenix?
Tumblr media
Well it wouldn't be much of a Echo write-up if she didn't get it, now would it?
Alas, she wouldn't have the powers for long. After a less-than-well received mini-series (Echo: Phoenix Song), she helped the Avengers with the Multiversal Masters of Evil and the Council of Red. She used up the power to help heal the verses destroyed by the God Quarry.
And...that's kind of where we're at with her.
(Also, I know there were about twenty words and phrases that may not make any sense whatsoever, so you might want to take up the opportunity to read her comic before proceeding.)
Now I know what you're saying. "Jason, how on Earth are you going to make this about Big Hero 6? We already know you didn't think of her when you wrote that blog post about other potential team members you were thinking about."
...True.
But Riri, Nadia, America, Alison, and Cindy were not the only people that were considered.
Tumblr media
They were just the only ones who got logos.
A Cheyenne deaf teenage girl with super memory powers and an ability to kick your butt sixty ways to San Fransokyo? Not to mention a (varying level of) permanent handprint on her face? You bet your patootie that she was on that list.
The problem, as many of the previous people were, was a way to integrate them into the mythos. Her main adversaries (Daredevil and Kingpin) are nowhere to be seen. Fisk is a NY guy too; unless he finds his way to SF for some reason, he wouldn't fit that well.
You'd have to find some other way to get her in. Who do we know that is a superb fighter that can also swordplay.
They also would probably be equally ruthless and not afraid of having to do what it take to achieve their goal.
Tumblr media
...Oh.
Oh dear.
How about the daughter of a kingpin?
(Marvel's Echo airs all five episodes tonight on Disney+.)

Yet Another Kingdom Hearts Revisit, Part VI
Atlantica is my favorite world in KH I. It may be my favorite world in the entire series. That isn't because I love the movement mechanics of the underwater world, though I do enjoy them. And it's not because I love the storytelling in this world, though I do think it's a brilliant section for plot, character, and lore (more on all those momentarily). It's my favorite because Ariel is an option for your battle party.
That might seem a slight reason, but The Little Mermaid is not only one of my favorite Disney films, but one of my favorite films full stop. Depending on my mood on a given day, it may take the top slot on a Disney list. But the one substantive issue I have with it is a big one: despite Ariel being the heroine, every other element of the film existing to service her story, she has almost nothing to do with defeating the villain who manipulated and betrayed her. Worse, she ends up a damsel in distress at the bottom of whirlpool. For Kingdom Hearts to make Ariel a party member who can fight against Ursula - in both forms - was so gratifying the first time I played this game, and it's remained so ever since. If KH III deserves credit for nothing else, bringing back Ariel as a Link Summon (the most useful one after Simba IMO) was a great move, but combat-ready Ariel in your party as part of a story that pays off all her talents and personality still takes the cake, and it's one of the best things this series has ever done with a Disney character. (It also removed the only possible rationale for giving The Little Mermaid the live action remake treatment, but I'll spare you my thoughts on that ongoing enterprise today.)
Ariel's dynamic with Sora is also one of the strongest between him and a Disney character from outside Mickey's realm. They've got a nice big sister-little brother vibe. Had the Kingdom Hearts TV series ever panned out, it would've been great to see that expanded on. But there's also some nice thematic work achieved through their relationship, Ariel's wanderlust mirroring Sora's from earlier in the game and Sora having become world-weary by that point. Given how pronounced that quality became in KH II, it's a shame that aspect couldn't have been tapped again.
And then there's King Triton, better-versed in Keyblade lore than Sora, Riku, the Traverse Town crew, and even Genie. Whoever's idea that was in the writing process, it was a great choice, and well-placed within the narrative. Had the possibility of a destructive Keyblade master come up too soon, it might have made it too easy to predict some of the twists in Hollow Bastion; too late, and there wouldn't have been time for a sense of foreboding to build. Though I do wish the graphics of the time would have let Triton's destruction of the crystal trident been a little more like his attack on the grotto from the film (the scariest scene in a Disney film for little-kid-me).
Gameplay wise, I prefer Ursula's first stage to the second. Once you get the hang of avoiding their attacks, the big-head enemies in KH I are a little too easy IMO. The first stage is more involved. On the other hand, defeating the big-head Ursula with Ariel in the party is a more cathartic experience, for all the reasons mentioned above.
Finally, I'd be curious to learn more about the music decisions for KH I. How did Atlantica and Halloweentown come to be the only worlds (besides the Disney Castle cutscenes) to use music from their respective films? I'm glad they did; playing along to "Under the Sea" is great. But Yoko Shimomura could certainly have come up with something fitting.

“So, what’s the story about?” - TW:OPT main genre/trope
Tumblr media
Hello there!
Welcome to the first entry of this celebration week!
Originally I was going to post this last Saturday or Sunday, however, I had a family problem that kinda drained our emotions, so I pushed it today. I might make another post after this, but we'll see.
For this entry, we're just going to talk about the main trope surrounding TW:OPT and maybe you can learn more about myself in a bit. I've separated this into five parts. Those are:
Magic Academy in a Magical World
Friendship & Family
Angst, Drama & Hurt/Comfort
Earn Your Happy Ending
Romance
If you guys have any questions or want me to elaborate more, feel free to ask. Enjoy reading!
Magic Academy in a Magical World
If I can tell you one silly fact about myself, I'll say this: my favorite Barbie movie is Barbie Princess Charm School.
I always have had a fascination with the magic academy trope or just special academy in general. Do they only learn how to play card games in Duel Academy or also how to design cards? How does the boarding system work with the Sorting Hat? What do the lady royals do once they graduate? Are you saying Fairytopia Elina spend her whole school life just to shoot a ball of blue light? Can we see more of the U.A. High School support class?
These tiny things can make a high school interesting, especially a magic high school that will tie with the world building.
Twisted-Wonderland goes through the same process. While I, like many others, got dragged in because of the twistified Disney villains, soon I was fascinated with the school system: the magic mirror sorting, the happy beans day and wish upon a star event, the fact that Scarabia has a heater controlled by either a magic gem or the fairies, everything about Ramshackle being an abandoned dorm, how many clubs are they, etc.
To this extent, you can ask about the magic system and the world-building: can you do magic with your cellphone, how does one develop their unique magic, how many races are there, how many languages are there, where does ghost come from, what the heck is Grim's species, etc.
So many questions, so few answers. Or I just didn't read enough.
When writing TW:OPT, I was playing it tame because there was already canon. Mostly as a guide on how the timeline will work.
And then I wrote the Ramshackle history and hoo boy I threw canon out of the window. So far, there is no canon lore for Ramshackle Dorm. In the fic, the Ramshackle Dorm is the oldest dorm (along with Pomefiore). However, it was shut down after an incident where someone exploded it.
I guess through time I've become daring.
Worldbuilding like making fan continents that were eventually debunked, headcanons around Queendom of Rose, you know, simple stuff. But then I tried more and more, like the new magic system.
I think that was the point where I just thought "wait, is the rewrite still relevant?" To put it short, I want to rewrite TW:OPT, mostly because I have some pacing issues and some inconsistent plot points. But at the same time I want to give TW:OPT my own flare. However, I feel like, despite claiming I don't have canon divergence, it might be too much. Maybe I'll talk more about the changes between the fic and canon soon.
But the bottom line is, the magical academy is interesting. Night Raven College is interesting. With the various space left, maybe I can just add my own spice. And then I just look in the entire world-building.
  Friendship & Family
I am on the camp who is glad that Twisted-Wonderland isn't an otome game. Yana-sensei says that she wants to explore more about the relationship between the boys and I'm so glad about that.
If there's anything I like best in fiction is the sense of brotherhood and sisterhood. As an older sibling myself, I love my brother dearly. So, seeing siblings or friends taking the stand to protect others will always warm my heart.
That's the greatest appeal in Twisted-Wonderland: the beautiful friendship between friends. The bond between Yuu, Grim, Ace, and Deuce. Riddle and Trey bittersweet childhood. Rook and Vil dynamics. Octavinelle mafia vibes. Everything about Kalim and Jamil.
There are so many relationships in this series, even outside your average daily days of (magical) high school boys. I'm always interested in Riddle and his mother's relationship, Leona and his brother's, and even Lilia and Silver. Familial love is fragile. Your parents can claim that they love you, but sometimes their action doesn't speak.
Just for a sec to talk about myself. I came from a simple family. It's not perfect, but cozy. Then 2020 came in and tested us. Now, we're still going through the healing process and there were times when I just stopped and think "Wow, my family is not as good as I thought it was." Fanfiction is my escapism for that warm family I carve. The same goes for friendship. As someone who was bullied for years throughout elementary and middle school, who now has a problem in communication because she doesn't know where to begin and nobody ever taught her how, I want to read those fics with the power of friendship. Seeing the characters having this growing friendship, something that I never had until I grew older, is beautiful. Seeing them navigate through their relationship, solving problems, even fights. Thus, I wrote Jonah with all these relationships: his blooming romance between Riddle and Azul, the respect he gets from Leona, the brotherhood between the first years, Birddad and Spiderson, etc.
I do want to talk more about I do still want to make that Jonah's relationship essay, but for now, this is what I'm aiming for Jonah. To have him bond with as much as he can, or at least be acquaintances with many of the cast. Because that bond will be put to a test.
  Angst, Drama & Hurt/Comfort
If you know anything about TW:OPT, you know that it has many, many moments of angst. Perhaps it's my love for tragedy, perhaps it's my need to see my favorite character suffer (I mean, come on, we've been at that pace). But one thing for sure is that I'm eagerly waiting for the happy ending at the end of the tunnel.
When I write TW:OPT the first time, I was trying to stick by the canon game story. Putting aside Jonah Argentum and Birddad Agenda for a sec, you can say the first part of the fic is really a straight adaptation. It was only after reaching Savanaclaw Arc that I decided "Okay, I think we need to change the plot." Mostly, it's because in favor of Jonah and his twisted villain. We all know what happens in the Savanaclaw Overblot battle. Leona disintegrated Joanh's arm, leaving him with a prosthetic arm made by Idia. Why Jonah has to lose his arm? I don't know. Why does Treasure Planet Long John Silver have a cyborg's arm? The actual Long John Silver only missing a leg (oh, and you bet Jonah will be losing his). But it was a delight writing that chapter and the overblot battle in the next.
After that, I told myself that I was going back to the original plan in straight adapting the game story.
But then JonAzul happen and hell went loose.
Octavinelle Arc, to this day, is my favorite arc to write. The many ups and downs, the drama, the tension, the broken friendships, it was fun to write and see the reactions after. The arc is a soap opera, a loose tragedy. But, in the end, it does ends, essentially, in a similar way to canon, the villain loses and the hero wins. However, the angst makes it feels different. But, because I'm the writer, I know that the angst won't last forever because there's always going to be a truly happy ending. And Octavinelle Arc's ending happens in the second part of Scarbia Arc. Octavinelle Arc is a tragedy, but their reconciliation chapter in Scarabia Arc promises a happy ending.
Scarabia Arc on the other hand is kinda tricky. Technically speaking, Scarabia Arc does end on a more bittersweet note even with the Oasis party. Kalim and Jamil would never be the same after the betrayal and you can see Kalim changes in Pomefiore Arc. Scarabia Arc, for me, I would rank as number two if I have to rank between all current storylines (only being beaten by Ignihyde, maybe Diasomnia will follow soon). When adapting Scarabia Arc, I knew this will be a bittersweet ending and I know I can't just finish it with just a single arc. This is the thought process behind Kalim Disappearance Arc. Scarabia Arc set the tragedy, but Kalim Disappearance Arc promises a happy ending.
I guess this is what you call hurt/comfort. The hurt can only work if you are promised comfort in the end (unless you are dedicated to making it hurt no comfort). If you want a happy ending, are you willing to go through the tragedy?
  Earn Your Happy Ending
I guess nobody is really questioning why the story in Twisted-Wonderland plays almost like their Disney Movies. It's the nature of adaptation. Twisted-Wonderland is a game where the Disney Villains are anime boys, how can they not make the story based on their movie? Yuu doesn't know why they see the vision of the Great Seven, but we know they are Disney Movies and are just waiting for an in-universe explanation.
When adapting for TW:OPT, I know I have to do something with the Disney vision and tried to think of an in-universe explanation (looking back, I think this was my first instance of diverging from canon). Thus the concept of reincarnation appeared.
You can say this is an adaptation of the time loop theory where time reset when we lost against the overblot monster in the beginning. You are 'cursed' to relive the story you were based on and if you're a villain, you are doomed to lose every time. And in TW:OPT, the worst ending is death and/or overblot.
For this, I did play it straight as seen in the final episode explanation. Riddle is not forgotten like a dream, Jamil is not shackled to his lamp, and Leona and Azul didn't die. But then, what happens? What happens after you cheated your overblot death? What happens after your supposed ending?
It's about redemption, mending the bonds, making your own future, finding courage, and just living. There is hope beyond the tragedy.
  Romance
To end this entry, let's talk about romance. As you know and I've said this a lot, I'm not a big fan of romance. But that doesn't mean I dislike romance. If I have to make an illustration, romance is like whipped cream on an ice cream sundae. It's good when it's just a little squeeze.
Though, I think this is a bit complicated. For one, if I'm allowed to go on a bit ramble, In addition, I've never really understood the concept of simping. I understand that you have your favorite character and you ship them with your oc. I do that too. But am I supposed to feel something more than just "wow, this looks cool"? Sure I want a pretty lady to step on me, but is that simping? Do I have to bark every time I see a sexy picture of my favorite boy? And sometimes this does make me feel left out because I just don't understand the appeal.
Opening up for a bit: until this point, I honestly can't figure out my sexual orientation. Maybe I'm aromantic or demiromantic. Or maybe I just haven't found the perfect guy. For now, I'm putting aside romance.
And I think this does reflect my writing and reading taste. While romance is not my big priority right now, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy romance stories. Now, this is something that I always have been confused about me for a while. I like shipping, I like romance fanfic, then why I don't vibe much with 'x reader'? It made me think "Ironic, isn't it?" I guess the simplest explanation is: "I like it when it's someone else romance's story, but I don't necessarily want it to be my romance story."
So, for example, I don't mind reading Vil/Rook fanfic, but I'll have a problem reading Vil/reader. I feel like most will understand. Sometimes the headcanon doesn't fit our expectations, sometimes the reader doesn't reflect us. But I guess for me, I just... I just don't want romance or relationships that much. So, why read something that's supposed to be a, essentially, romance fic that would indulge you in a fantasy when you don't want it?
I've learned through writing TW:OPT that a fic can be a part of someone's self-indulgence, just like how TW:OPT is for me. I can control how the relationship progress and who will end up with who. So if the headcanon or vibes don't fit my preference for the ship, I won't read it. "Don't like don't read".
When reading fanfiction, you kinda expected romance and shipping. And I like that. I love having my plate full of so many great fanfictions, but I have my own tunnel vision. I mean, we all have our favorite fan fiction tropes, right? So, if you can't take the romance out of the equation, just indulged yourself with your favorite tropes.
And if I have to pick one trope to explain the romance in TW:OPT, it'll be the slow burn!
Look, if watching danmei affected me in some way, it's strengthening my love for slow burn stronger.
I love slow burn so much. It's about the pining, the yearning, the 'I like them but I don't think they deserve me', the forehead kiss, the tiny things when their fingers accidentally touch, and the oh so many subtexts.
I can say four pairings that I push for in TW:OPT is a slow burn: Ace/Deuce, Riddle/Jonah, Azul/Jonah, and Jamil/Kalim. Among the four, if I can pick one pair to be canon in the OPTU, it's Ace/Deuce. I adore friends to lovers and idiots in love, and Ace/Deuce fits the bill. Jamil/Kalim is kinda tricky because while I do ship them, I don't think it's the time they got together. One simple apology probably won't fix nearly sixteen years of power imbalance.
Riddle/Jonah and Azul/Jonah, as I said, will be explained soon. But for now, both relationship is in the similar status of Ace/Deuce high school romance with more ups and downs than the Ace/Deuce sweetheart relationship. However, while Azul/Jonah is canon one-sidedly, Riddle/Jonah has a lot of hints as well.

Force's Disney Geek Master Theory: Why Twisted Wonderland Is Called Twisted Wonderland
Tumblr media
We have all grown to know and love various Disney characters over the years, correct? Yet, I believe a lot of us can argue that not many characters have the same effect on us even as adults today as the Villains do within their respective movies. In the game Disney: Twisted Wonderland as we all know and love, the select boys to Overblot are supposed to have the "souls" of their Villain counterparts, right? But...why is it called "Twisted" Wonderland, then? The truth may lie within something that has been right in front of us all along, my friends: the meaning of a mirror. Ready to buckle in for this one? If so, then here we go!
We have seen all of these guys share character traits, looks, etc with their Disney counterparts, correct? Well, what if I were to tell you that things in terms of the "main" guys that we are supposed to pay attention to aren't exactly what they seem? This could be analyzed in a few different ways, honestly, yet the most prominent way is this: the differences in their personalities- they are reversed. Let us take this bit by bit, shall we?
Tumblr media
Ah, yes. The Queen Of Hearts. The ranting, raging, bundle of red, black, and gold we all know and love. (or else heads would roll, I'm sure) One of the things that everybody knows about her is that she's extremely hellbent on the crazy rules that she makes up and is prone to anger honestly very easily. Yeah, you can connect that to Riddle- but think about it for a second. While that rage and the rule thing is still there, it isn't as prominent with him as it was with her, is it? With the Queen of Hearts, her whole "issue" was that she wished to make everybody listen to her and follow her every command- but Riddle was essentially always following the rules of another- not his own. This seemed to make Riddle a little more calm most of the time in terms of how he handled and oversaw things. It wasn't until he actually Overblotted that the "listen to me and only me" thing came out- buuuuuuttttttt I'll get to that part in a bit.
Tumblr media
Next: Leona and Scar. While we honestly didn't get to see a lot of what went on behind the scenes in the Outlands in terms of how Scar even met the hyenas to begin with at all, one thing can honestly be said- Scar worked very hard to get where he was. I mean, it's not like you can get an entire pack of rabid, hungry hyenas onto your side in the course of a single day, or maybe even a week (especially as a lion, no less). No, something to that extreme takes careful planning, wording, and stringing along to ensure that nothing goes wrong along the way. The way Scar spoke to Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed made it seem as though he had known them for a looooonngggg time before this- that's where that behind the scenes planning comes in. And then...you have Leona. Leona, from what we can tell in Chapter 2, planned the idea for the "endgame" alright- but he didn't actually act upon any of the plan for himself. Ruggie did. Even in the Lion King, we see that Scar had no problems whatsoever getting his paws dirty a little within his own scheme to take his "rightful place" at the head of Pride Rock- but Leona quite honestly did not a thing once Ruggie was in motion. See where this is starting to head?
Tumblr media
Azul and Ursula. Ursula, the Disney baddie queen of my heart Ursula, the Sea Witch. She was known all around the ocean floor for helping out poor little merfolk in secret, wasn't she? Yet, nobody ever really seemed to catch wind of the whole "her turning those who didn't quite fit the bill into polyps" thing, did they? That was one of the things that made her such a honest threat to Ariel herself- because Ursula was cunning. She did things behind the scenes, and sure- we could catch onto it out in the audience (annnddd maybe Sebastian and Flounder as well), but nobody else really seemed to, right? Azul is the complete opposite in this standpoint. He instills direct fear into his "workers" and those even beyond and within his dorm. Like- basically most knew that this dude was bad news to begin with. Azul, mostly, seemed to hide his cunning facade behind a fake yet still seemingly "soft and genuine" smile and act. But all in all, he didn't really attempt to "hide" anything- hell, he even proclaimed his entire plan of what everyone with those things on their heads were gonna do for him in the open! At least when Ursula sang as Vanessa, she was in an almost perfectly enclosed room with nobody else around.
Tumblr media
Jamil and Jafar. This comparison here, given what occurs in the movie Aladdin, is honestly one of the biggest possible indicators of this reoccuring theme I shall clarify in a bit. Jafar, while being sneaky, was known for being a more "out there" Disney Villain in terms of his personality alongside that of his partner Iago in the film. He would smile in a sinister way, he would crack jokes out in the open, and let us not forget his crazed yet oddly interesting laughter. Jamil? He's the exact opposite. Given his past and what he has had to dealt with growing up with Kalim, he is much more reserved and barely releases a chuckle or cracks a smile at all. His personality is a lot more repressed than that of Jafar himself throughout the film. Jamil has been so used to having to hold himself back thanks to his parents in favor of Kalim's family, he doesn't seem to know how to "let go" whatsoever. Yet Jafar, while still maintaining that sneaky side of him as well, has no problems whatsoever letting a little hang loose whenever he so chooses to.
Tumblr media
Vil and the Evil Queen. This one honestly may be a bit more self explanatory than the others- but the difference between these two is their expressions of themselves. The Evil Queen was the very first animated counted Disney Villain within Disney's history- yet, she barely had any lines throughout the film at all. Her ranges of expression were almost little to none thanks to the era in which the movie was released in- but she always looked like she was pissed, huh? Vil is the exact opposite of her in this sense. He is able to fully express himself through his various facial expressions, theatrical abilities, musical experiences, fashion style, and even how he behaves. Vil is able to do so much more than the Evil Queen did or could do within that time period, that it's almost a little staggering if you fully picture it.
Tumblr media
Idia and Hades. Now, now. We haven't honestly seen too much of the flaming blue boy yet in TWST, but one thing is apparent here right off the bat- in terms of his personality? He is the exact opposite of Hades. Idia is much like Jamil but to a more "geek" degree- he's extremely introverted, shy, a bit snippy, yet mainly keeps to himself and his gaming tech. Hades is most often renowned as the Disney Villain with the most personality- and the best humor. Hades has no problem whatsoever being "out there" with his crazy puns, sassy remarks, anger, and even mocking behavior. I mean, please, guys- I haven't been this choked up since I got a hunk of moussaka caught in my throat!
Tumblr media
Finally, Malleus and Maleficent. Ooooohoooooooo boy. We have to count out the live action movie Maleficent for this one (sorry horned queen fans). One thing that basically everybody even with their toe in the water in that of Disney movies kind of knows this fact- Maleficent is c r u el. She's got a bizarre set of dark powers and an even blacker heart than that. Hell, we basically had to "soften her up" a little bit in Maleficent thanks to just how seemingly irredeemable her character is in that of Sleeping Beauty. I mean, c'mon now- cursing an infant? And we get no explanation for that in the original? C'mon, now. Anyways, Malleus? As we all can tell by now, this dude is the compleeettteeeeeee opposite. Sure, he has those repressed bits here and there too, but it is evident that this dude has a heart crying out for the MC and it is big, bold, and golden to the core once you look past how he looks. He sent the MC a card for winter break, for crying out loud. Yeah, let me know the next time you see Maleficent do that smh.
Now, I have avoided using a certain word up until this point to see if anybody could catch on to what exactly is happening here. Did you figure it out? Reverse. The boys that either have Overblotted already or intend to Overblot soon stop holding out on us, Chapter 6 have had the exact opposite personalities compared to that of their Villain counterpart- until one prime point in their "character arcs". Their Overblot.
Riddle wished to have all bow before him and obey his rules.
Leona led his entire dorm into ruin and nearly sanded away the entire school in the process.
Azul let himself finally free of his personal shackles entirely and "took what was his".
Jamil finally let himself go and opened up more in his personality, almost seeming to be driven insane in the process.
Vil wanted to become the most beautiful one of all and would kill anyone within the way of that goal without any hesitation whatsoever.
The moment that the boys' Overblotted, that was the exact moment when the "soul" of their Disney Villain counterpart took control. Keeping that idea in mind, that should mean that this will happen in the upcoming chapters and their Overblots:
Idia will show off all of the personality, powers, and intelligence that he has been keeping down within this introverted self of his.
Malleus will become so broken by being left out and alone in the cold for the final time that he will turn into a completely cruel Fae and possibly nearly kill either the MC or the representation of Prince Philip within that Chapter in the process.
(Hello, my dear Readers! Guess who is trying to get back into her bigger pieces of writing? This gal right here~ feel free to drop a comment and tell me what you think of this theory- I'd love to hear your thoughts! 💕)

A Brief And Concise Summary Of Is Wrong With The ACOTAR Series
I think we can agree that a lot of ACOTAR is pretty iffy. Consider this a very brief refresher.
What's Wrong With Feyre/Rhysand (juxtaposed against Feyre/Tamlin)
Rhysand drugs and sexually assaults her in Book 1
This is "for her own good". Because he "has no choice". Despite the fact that, from what we know of the plot, Amarantha thinks that Clare Beddor was the one Rhysand was diddling, and is only interested in Feyre because Rhysand, "her" man male, has taken an interest in her.
If we extrapolate from this we can figure that Rhysand is the one directly putting her into danger.
Now, let's be clear: drugging someone is bad. Sexually assaulting someone is bad. One could argue there were extenuating circumstances. But if, in such a situation, what your mind goes to is "I know, I should assault this person... for their safety" I have questions about your moral qualities. There were a million things he could have done. He could have done whatever he did to Clare - that is, remove her ability to feel any pain - easily. He could have helped her escape. Under The Mountain, he - while still there unwillingly - has a lot of power, as Amarantha's side piece. Maybe this would have resulted in him being punished- however, he is hundreds of years old and a badass motherfucker, and she is a nineteen year old human girl.
Now, onto Tamlin. Obviously not a lot of people really ship F/T anymore after ACOMAF, because compared to F/R, it's boring. I read another person's post about it, which was very enlightening: they said that Feyre's personality is essentially a mirror. When she is with Rhysand, she's snarky and malicious- because she is "bouncing off" his energy. When she's with Mor she's super feminist and "in awe of her strength". On the other hand, Tamlin is kind of an empty character. He's a pretty boy with anger issues, which should be more interesting than it is. SJM manages to make him bland. Because Feyre has nothing to bounce off of, (a lot of this is from the person's post), she and Tamlin together is mainly just him introducing her to his world.
What Tamlin Does: prevents a skinny twenty year old from going on dangerous missions with him and combat-trained soldiers, accidentally blows up a room with her in it, and, at the end, prevents her from leaving the house.
This is not a Tamlin apologist post. Obviously it was really fucking gross of him to do that, and their relationship was toxic. However, a lot of his abuse stems from their inability to communicate, as well as own negligence. He does not knowingly and purposefully sexually assault her or rape her mind. And tbh, leaving a girl without combat training at home while he goes on missions with a bunch of muscled sentries is... kind of reasonable?
Again: not a Tamlin apologist post. It was abuse. However, if Rhysand is "allowed" to sexually assault, mind-rape, and drug Feyre "for her own safety", why is Tamlin demonized for preventing her from leaving his mansion "for her own safety"?
Another pertinent point: Rhys is never punished for sexually assaulting her. It is brushed off as part of his "mask" or that his hand was forced. Jesus Christ my dudes, his hand was not forced under her skirt. If he has to maintain his gross rapist abuser tyrant oppressor mask... why? Who did that benefit beside him? None of his actions remotely helped Prythian. They were done solely for his buddies - five people safe in a rich hidden city - and no one else, which is explicitly stated.
Finally, the power dynamic is fucked up. Feyre is less than twenty five years old. Rhysand is 500. There is a tendency in fantasy romance to romanticize a centuries year old man with a young girl, because the man does not show symptoms of age, and so it is easily ignorable. However, can we just briefly acknowledge how fucked up it is? Rhys is over five times older than Donald Trump, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, and other known predators/abusers. She is twenty. That is really fucking gross. She is in a vulnerable position and he takes rampant advantage of that.
If he had wrinkles, liver problems, and erectile dysfunction, more people would acknowledge it.
Let's be clear: I'm not saying writing a book with an uneven power dynamic is automatically bad. For example, in The Locked Tomb series, which is in my opinion THE BEST FANTASY SERIES THAT HAS GRACED THIS EARTH (lol i'm starting fires), one main character Harrowhark Nonagesimus is in a position of power over Gideon Nav, the other main character. However, this is not glossed over or romanticized. Gideon resents Harrow for this- there is a relationship of mutual antagonism, fraught with unwilling familiarity and intimacy from growing up together. They are roughly the same age. While there is a certain power dynamic (in that world, there is a dynamic of necromancer and cavalier, i.e. sorcerer and sword) the "empowered" character (Harrow) emphatically respects her and does not abuse this power, although both would of course deny this, and she does make a show of threatening and being aloof. In short, while Gideon obeys her, Gideon also has power over Harrow, and the idea of what is essentially slavery is not romanticized.
Feyre Doesn't Face Any Consequences For Her Own Actions
Let me present a radical notion: a guy preventing you from leaving his house does not justify completely fucking ruining his country and harming the people inside it.
In other words: Tamlin does not deserve what she did to him.
I know that sounds iffy. We're conditioned to think that if someone is an abuser, then they are the scum of the earth, they deserve to die, torturing/murdering/doing anything to them is completely A-OK. However, here's another radical notion: someone harming you does not justify you doing worse.
Obviously, the effects of psychological abuse can cause you to hurt other people (see: Nesta), but Feyre deliberately and maliciously (oh, God, that insufferable POV of her in Spring Court; she reads like a cartoonish Disney villain) dismantles his country. She uses sexual manipulation (Lucien), torture (causing the sentry to be whipped), and mind-rape (who didn't she do this to? lol).
A summary of the entire first half of ACOWAR: "It smelled like roses. I hated roses. For this capital offense against my olfactory system, Tamlin and the entire Spring Court deserved to burn in hell. I knew exactly what I was doing. I smiled at him sweetly: no longer a doe, but a wolf. He didn't see my fangs.............." *aesthetic noises*
Man. I'm starting to think SJM had a horrible experience at a Bath & Body Works and took it out on the rest of us. Don't do it, Sarah!! I know Pink Chiffon and Triple Berry Martini are way too strong, but don't take it out on an innocent population!!
She steals from Summer Court (there are, yk, other solutions to theft. Like maybe asking politely) and ruins Spring Court. Her boyfriend - yeesh sorry, MATE - does nothing while a dozen Winter Court children are murdered.
Now: moral ambiguity is not automatically bad. Again using The Locked Tomb as an example, in the second book (spoiler alert), Harrowhark has a sort of moral ambiguity. She was raised from the beginning to worship the King Undying as God, and so she obeys him without question. Because of this, she commits a lot of crimes in His name: she "flips" - i.e. kills - the life force of planets, and she plots murder (albeit the murder of someone who tried to kill her first). There is no attempt to justify this. There is also no attempt to paint her as a virtuous and yet also badass Madonna figure. She is desperate, plagued with the "wreck of herself", and the book clearly displays her moral pitfalls. While her POV is of course colored by her mindset, it also is limited by her lack of information, and we as readers can acknowledge that.
BACK TO ACOTAR: Feyre is seen by everyone as gorgeous, formidable, and essentially perfect. Rhys sees her as flawless, "made for him", wonderful, beautiful, blah blah blah. (THEY ARE SO BAD FOR EACH OTHER; THEY EXCUSE AND GLORIFY EACH OTHER'S CRIMES, IT'S SO BAD, GUYYYS). Tamlin is insanely batshit in love with her, or whatever. To the Night Court she's the High Lady. In this way she personifies the Mary Sue character. (Excerpt from the TV Tropes page on Mary Sues: "She's exotically beautiful, often having an unusual hair or eye color, and has a similarly cool and exotic name. She's exceptionally talented in an implausibly wide variety of areas, and may possess skills that are rare or nonexistent in the canon setting. She also lacks any realistic, or at least story-relevant, character flaws — either that or her "flaws" are obviously meant to be endearing. She has an unusual and dramatic Back Story. The canon protagonists are all overwhelmed with admiration for her beauty, wit, courage and other virtues, and are quick to adopt her as one of their True Companions, even characters who are usually antisocial and untrusting; if any character doesn't love her, that character gets an extremely unsympathetic portrayal." Sound familiar?)
There is the Ourobous scene. And yet, paradoxically, while presented as an acknowledgment of her flaws, it is in fact a rejection of them. She sees her own brutality... and instead of recognizing that she has these deep, deep moral flaws and realizing that she needs to grow and be better, she in fact "accepts" them.
Guys: Self love means: "I'm important to me, so I'm going to get a massage today after work", or "heck, why not splurge on some expensive lotion, you only live once" or "you know what? I had a tough day today. I'm going to get that strawberry cupcake". SELF LOVE DOES NOT MEAN "oh, I accept all the war crimes I have done, I love myself". LOVING YOURSELF DOES NOT MEAN ABSOLVING YOURSELF OF ALL WRONGDOING.
It's this refusal to acknowledge wrongdoing that is so grating about ACOTAR. It's so goddamn one-sided. And you can tell that after Book 1, SJM decided to completely change the trajectory simply because of how jarring Book 2 reads compared to the first one.
Also: Feyre is a very, very young girl (compared to the other ruling fey) who did not know how to read for the majority of her life. She has no experience whatsoever in politics. Her being High Lady is not a win for feminism.
Rhysand: He Sucks
First, he is 500 years old. He should be written as such, not as some 20 year old virile frat boy feminist. Fantasy is all the more compelling for its elements of realism, which is a concept that SJM does not appear to grasp.
Second of all, his morals are absurd. He is written as the Second Coming of Christ, as someone who can do no wrong, ever, and his flaws only serve to make Feyre love him more. Anything shitty he does is written as part of his "mask" and she can See Beneath It and knows that it "hurts" him to maintain this "mask".
Fellas, WHY DOES HE HAVE TO MAINTAIN THIS MASK???? There is no reason for it. If A) he does not give a shit about Court of Nightmares (we'll get back to that), only about Velaris, and B) Velaris is hidden/protected from the world, what is he pretending for?
It would not hurt him politically to be seen as someone who cares about his country.
"Pretending" to be "Amarantha's whore" does not in any way shape or form benefit the macro-world that is Prythian. In Amarantha's name, he commits atrocities. He commits war crimes; he systemically oppresses entire societies. It doesn't even really benefit Velaris, because Velaris is already hidden.
Let me put this in a real-world perspective. This would be like if Donald Trump was suddenly like: "I know I was a shitty president but IT WAS ALL PART OF MY MASK, WHICH WAS TO PROTECT THIS MICROCOSM OF PRIVILEGED PEOPLE THAT I CARE ABOUT". Like: okay? Sorry, or whatever, but I don't actually give a shit. What about the parents of the children who died? What about Clare Beddor? What about the people who were held in slavery, murdered, tortured?
Rhysand: omg it sucks that my cousin Mor was oppressed by this toxic misogynistic culture from the Court of Nightmares.
Also Rhysand: lol whatever, who gives a shit about Court of Nightmares. They all suck. They meanie. Lol what did you say? That there might be other girls just like Mor who are oppressed by this system? Lol whatever. I can't do anything, I gotta maintain my Mask. I gotta sit on this throne and show the entire Court that not respecting women is completely okay.
In summary: by parading Feyre around as his "whore" (!!) he demonstrates by example that it is completely okay for the Court of Nightmares to abuse their women.
A good ruler cares about all his people. Rhysand cares about a tiny tiny fraction of his people: those who were fortunate enough to be born into Velaris.
God, I'm exhausted. Onto Nesta:
The only character who successfully breaks the Mary Sue effect Feyre exerts on her people is Nesta. Her POV for the first half is a joy to read.
Obviously it sucks that Nesta was a huge bitch to Feyre for the beginning of her childhood. However, it was wrong for Rhysand to threaten her- he is a man male with a huge insane amount of power, and it is not okay for him to threaten to bring the brunt of it down on a young girl because she was a bitch to his girlfriend.
I've seen a lot of discourse on the morality of F/R sending her out of Velaris. Here is my two cents:
It was okay for them to cut her off of their money. If they don't want to enable her self-harm, that is their choice. Again, it's their money, even if it wasn't fairly earned (Rhysand born into an enormous fortune).
It was not okay for them to banish her from Velaris with the implication that she was an embarrassment. Let me explain.
If Rhysand and Feyre are talking to her as sister/brother-in-law, then that is that. They have the complete right to express disapproval and try to help. However, they should not be using their royal privilege against her.
If they are talking to her as ruler to subject, then they have the power to banish her from the city. However, a ruler would not give a shit about a random subject getting drunk and having sex. So, they should not be talking her about her problems as a ruler to subject.
I've heard it compared to her being sent to rehab. However, rehab is a system designed to help people with certain problems. It has specialized medical centers and involves therapy. Nesta gets her life threatened multiple times. It is not rehab.
In summary: why did SJM inflict this upon us. Throne of Glass was actually good! GAHHH! After the first few books she completely whipped around and introduced the idea of males and mates and fey and that C is actually A and the quality took a huge nosedive. Sigh.
Final horrible but unmistakable truth: The entire ACOTAR series reads like a bad A/B/O fic. I hate to say it but it's true. We're lucky there were no heat cycles. OH WAIT

Walt Disney Animated Pictures Studios from Worst to Best-Part Three: The OK Films
Salutations, random people on the internet who certainly won’t read this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck! I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons.
And we’re continuing this worst to best ranking of the movies by Walt Disney Animated Pictures Studios. Today, we discuss the films by the studio that are simply labeled as…ok.
Not good, not bad, just…ok. These are ok movies that I’ll be likely to revisit once in a blue moon and have a good time when doing it. Like if someone were to suggest we’d sit down to watch any of these movies, I’d most likely shrug and go, “Eh, alright.” I wouldn’t object to it, but I wouldn’t really be too enthusiastic either.
Well, #40 might make me a little enthusiastic. Why? See for yourself:
#40. Melody Time-This movie's just pleasant!
It made me use the word 'pleasant!' That should tell you how good it is! Er, how ok it is, I guess Melody Time is basically a collection of shorts set to music. And before you say, "Oh, so it's like Fantasia," it isn't. This one definitely feels more geared toward younger audiences. No masterpieces or works of art in this film. It's all just cute stories with well-designed characters...and the occasionally offensive-looking Native American. But aside from that...GIGANTIC ISSUE of representation, Melody Time is still a fun watch. I don't know if I'd be willing to watch it again, but I still had a great initial viewing regardless.
#39. Make Mine Music-Huh, that's weird. This one's not even on Disney+. I wonder why.
*Watches it through...other means*
Ah, because it's forgettable. That's why.
Don't get me wrong, Make Mine Music is charming with its collection of shorts and especially with its choice of songs. It's just that out of all the other movies in Disney's catalog, it's not a movie I'd be able to remember. Loved it, but I might not have fond memories of it. Or any memories, for that matter.
(But at least there's no racist stuff in this one. So, you know, that's a plus)
#38. Dumbo-Oooooooooooooh, those racist crows. Those incredulously, uncomfortably racist crows. I mean, the workers song isn’t that great either, but there’s something much more egregious about those racist, f**king crows. Why, in the name of all that is holy, does this genuinely charming movie about learning to embrace what makes you different also have to be the same move that has racist. F**king. CROWS!?
And the thing is, everything before that is wonderful. Jumbo is up there as one of the best cartoon moms, Timothy O. Mouse is a fantastic character for how much he supports Dumbo and cheers him on, the Pink Elephants are both the best and worst kind of trip, and Dumbo is equal parts adorable and tragic. I especially love how he gets revenge on everyone that made his life hell. That'll show 'em.
I love this movie...I just don't love those f**king crows! They at least come at the end, but they're also the reason how Dumbo learns he can fly. Meaning that they're essential, and you can't really edit them out (but future versions can write them out, so that's a plus that the Dumbo reboot gets). Usually, when everything else in a film is done so well, I'm willing to look past the negatives...but that's a pretty big negative to ignore. So, I'll leave it to you. If you can stomach the racist crows, that's great. If not, then this movie will be ranked much differently for you. Thankfully, I loved everything that came before the racist crows enough to love Dumbo from the beginning only to cringe at it in the end. So...I guess that's an achievement.
#37. The Jungle Book-Admit it. You only remember this movie because of "The Bare Necessities." Which is valid. It's a charming song.
And The Jungle Book itself is also pretty charming. Each character is just so much fun and oozing with personality. Baloo and Bagheera are lovable protectors with an entertaining dynamic, and Kai and Sher-khan are devious villains with simple motivations with intense methods. Maybe the elephants, vultures, and King Louie can get on my nerves a bit, but our heroes and villains make up for it. Well, the heroes that aren't human, that is. Because despite being the protagonist, Mogli is quite the dumbass in distress at times, feeling more like a plot device for Baloo and Bagheera to look after instead of a dynamic character who can take care of himself. Plus, his reasoning for going back to the man-village, while a little understandable, is pretty weak. Like, come on. After how hard he fought to stay in the jungle, this one thing made him want to leave it all? I don't buy it.
Still, The Jungle Book's pretty good. There's some fun to be had with the characters, even if the story ends on a low note. It may not be perfect, but at least you'll bear it! HA! Bear puns...
#36. The Aristocats-It's like Disney said, "You know, we made two movies about dogs before this, why don't we make one about cats?" And they certainly made a movie about cats. And it's...cute.
It's a cute movie with plenty to enjoy. I enjoyed the kittens and how naive they acted. I enjoyed O'Malley's relationship with Dutchess and how it often feels genuine. I enjoyed that O'Malley actually likes the kittens instead of becoming that guy who would cut out the second children are involved. I enjoyed how hilariously incompetent Edgar is as a villain. And I enjoyed...basically everything else.
Except for the racist cats. I count three that are meant to represent racial stereotypes, and it's just...yikes.
Still, it's hard not to have a fun time with this movie, racist cats aside. If you're a cat person, you're going to have the time of your life.
#35. The Princess and the Frog-This movie makes me miss Disney’s hand-drawn animation for their theatrical projects. Sure, the CGI has come a long way and you’ll get an essence of hand-drawn animation every now and again, but nothing compares to the fully-animated, fluid, expressive, and wonderfully looking animation of The Princess and the Frog. And it’s a good thing that this movie looks so good, too. Because the rest of it…needs some polishing out.
Don’t get me wrong, the comedy’s solid (for the most part), Tiana and Naveen are charming characters, and Dr. Facilier is a really good villain. The good parts make up for the bad, but the major problem is the story. Or, rather, Tiana’s story. I get why Naveen is a frog, as he needs to learn a lesson of humility and how to do things for himself. But Tiana? Tiana’s whole thing was to learn to appreciate life and the people around her instead of working for every minute of every day. Why is turning her into a frog the best way to go about that? Wouldn’t she want to work harder to fix this? And how could she appreciate the people in her life when all she has is her frog boyfriend? Is this movie really suggesting that it’s better to be a frog than a human?
Ok, I know I might be reading too deep into the whole scenario. It’s just a whacky twist on the original fairytale. I shouldn’t be reading too deep into this. But half the time, it feels like Tiana is just a tool to develop Naveen rather than her own character. It’d be nice if he helped her loosen up more, but there’s not enough scenes of him teaching her to have fun than there are of Tiana teaching him. It’s a shame, really, because this movie is a blast. Like I said, there just needs to be a little more polish.
#34. Bolt-Conceptually, this movie makes no gosh dang sense. It doesn’t seem possible that Bolt is unaware that he’s in a TV show. I know, the movie’s a cartoon and it requires a suspension of disbelief, but the whole thing sounds so overly complicated that it’s just too hard to believe. For example, do you know why dogs bark at your wall? It’s not because of ghosts. It’s because they can hear and sniff something so far away that they can’t help but bark at it. With that in mind, how is it possible for Bolt not to hear or smell any camera operator or special effects specialists. Better question: If Bolt’s dumb enough to believe he’s in a TV show, how can anybody be certain they’ll know exactly what he’ll do? What if instead of bending bars apart, he goes for the super bark? Or heat vision? Even worse, what if he goes for the throat? You’d have to put Bolt down if that was the case.
So, yeah, conceptually, this movie’s a mess…but dang it, is it cute!
Seeing Bolt slowly learn how to be a dog is adorable to watch at times. And, while the concept’s iffy, there is some solid comedy that comes from Bolt learning he isn’t a superhero, added with Mittens being the straight man to his antics. Plus, if there’s anything that a movie wants to do to get on my good side, it’s to show me a dog and a cat slowly becoming best friends. It’s just that easy.
Bolt, as a concept, doesn’t do so well. But as a movie that has a handful of cute and funny moments, there could be worse things to watch.
#33. Fantasia 2000-I think this one gets a little too much hate. Is it as much of a gorgeous masterpiece as the original Fantasia? No. Does it still have some incredible animation that often takes my breath away? You better believe it does.
Sure, there are celebrities trying too hard to be funny and a whole segment dedicated to a flamingo with a yoyo, but it’s all harmless in my opinion. To criticize this movie just because it wasn’t as perfect as the original is just too harsh to me, primarily because it’s still so good despite a few things holding it back. It might never be the same as the first Fantasia, but it still has some value. To me, that’s more than enough.
#32. Treasure Planet-I really dig the sci-fi spin Treasure Planet has on the original story Treasure Island, as it lends to some unique character designs and worlds. I also enjoy a lot of the characters, with Doppler being fun, Captain Amelia being a blast, and John Silver being the best of them all. His characterization and relationship with Jim was surprisingly heartwarming, as well as it is heartbreaking with how both characters would occasionally betray each other. So, yeah, I like the world and characters…but I have some issues.
There are a lot of things in Treasure Planet that confuse me. How do the pirate ships work out in space? Why would Jim’s mother willingly let him go after such a flimsy excuse from Doppler? Why is Jim the only one who can use the map? These are all things that pay homage to the original story while keeping things moving forward, but it really leaves the head scratching.
And while some characters are good, others…aren’t. Jim screams as a try hard bad boy to leave the teen girls swooning just as much as both Morph and B.E.N. scream as over the top comedic Disney sidekicks. None of them are awful, but they weren’t doing much for me. Although, I will admit, I do love how B.E.N. is animated. Really nails making a CGI character fit into a 2D world.
Overall, Treasure Planet is a mixed bag. There are some strong points but the weak ones hold it back by a lot. The x just couldn’t mark the spot with this “treasure.”
#31. Frozen II-Frozen II…is interesting. I can admit that it’s not a great movie, but, as weird as it sounds, I still love it. Or, at the very least, I love parts of it.
Everything that is done with Elsa is outstanding, making her a much more interesting character than she was in the first movie.
The animation is, as usual, gorgeous as hell, having two awe-inspiring set pieces that left a huge smile on my face.
The songs are also wonderful…Well, Elsa’s songs, at least. “Do The Next Right Thing” is pretty good, “Some Things Never Change” is a decent opener, “Lost in the Woods” is hilarious for the wrong reasons, and “This Will All Make Sense When I’m Older” is just…no. Still, not too bad of a soundtrack to have.
I really do feel like there’s some value to be had with this movie, and I can see why it has its fans. Unfortunately, there are issues that make it less than stellar for me, personally.
It is evident that the writers had no idea what to do with Anna or Kristoph. Well, they had ideas. It’s just that there wasn’t enough time to develop Anna’s story and Kristoph’s was cut and left aside with the original concept of the film. As for tone, it does try to be a lot darker and more serious, but it just doesn’t work with Olaf in the mix. The writers try to make him work in dramatic scenes, but it feels like a swing and a miss. He really doesn’t belong in the type of movie they were trying to make.
And then there’s the worst part of the movie: It’s message. It tries to have a theme about anti-colonialism and sins of the past, but the writers just don’t follow through on the idea. The ending actually feels like a major cop-out that honestly made me frustrated after seeing it in theaters for the first time. I won’t give away how. Just trust me when I say that it really could have been done better.
Still, while this movie is a bit of a mess, my brain always goes back to those wonderful moments that made me love it. So, consider this one a guilty pleasure. It could and should have been better, but I don’t really complain much about the final product.
The same goes for the rest of this list. I guess they all could be a little better, but I’m not complaining too much in regards to the quality. I still enjoyed a lot of what I watched, even if I felt no real strong connections to them.
But strap in for tomorrow! Because we’re going from “just ok” to…good. They’re…good movies tomorrow. Not great. Just…good…It’s still a step up!

Big Hero 6 The Series: It could have been better
Hello, friends. Today, I will be analyzing a TV series based on a movie that I fell in love with for its colourful themes, deep plot, compelling characters, great CGI and memorable messages. Before I get into it, I want to take a moment to say that I have quit doing videos. They are too big of a pain in the petunia to make and I write better than I speak, so I will stick to writing essays, reviews and more. Anyway, onto the analysis.
All I can say about Big Hero 6 the series is that it had a great concept, it presented some great ideas and tried hard to be a cartoon of the times, but it could have and should have been a lot better. The show’s downfall all centers around trying too hard to be kid friendly which makes the shame sting all the more because Big Hero 6 was already kid friendly even with its dark themes, sharp edges and intelligent writing. If anything, even the brightest kid friendly cartoons (Steven Universe, She-Ra, etc.) had those things and actually benefitted from them. By needlessly trying too hard, character development got scrapped, the edges were all smoothed out, storytelling was subpar, the humour was too silly and the executive meddling in the end produced a dismal final season. However, I don’t want this analysis to be one lengthy negative rant about how awful the series was because in its defense, awful is an unfair word. It did have potential and ideas which are worth carrying over to a reboot that I hope will be done someday in the future. Also, we should root for a reboot because Big Hero 6 would not be the first story that needs it before striking gold. Just look at how many times Spider-Man was rebooted in film before MCU found the version that worked. Anyway, I will list all the things in Big Hero 6 that could have been better in my opinion;
Tumblr media
1- Go easy on the laughs and be more generous with the action. - I love adding comedy to my own writing because I think a good sense of humour makes everything better, but Big Hero 6 is not a stand up comedy routine. It is a superhero story where we expect action, suspense and life or death situations that are to be taken seriously first. The comedy should be for relief and with the right timing. Also, the chibi cutscenes and having characters act like fools aren’t funny. Ren and Stimpy are the exception not the standard and their way of making you laugh doesn’t fit an action series. In a show as big as Big Hero 6, real life physics and danger matters.
Tumblr media
2- Make the villains menacing and gritty. - I admit that after having a movie villain like Yokai who was the stuff of nightmares, it is going to be a challenging act to follow, but it was obvious that the writers were trying especially with some villains who could have easily gone into some dark relatable territory. For example, Mr. Sparkles (the gentleman in the photo above) embodies social media and Internet personalities. Right off the bat, you have a long list of things which embody the dark side of that like scams, fraud, using social media to dox or harass, driving people to suicide, online predators, the Internet personalities being very depressed people in real life, and much more horrifying things. When you stop and look at it, Mr. Sparkles even looks like the Joker which hints how dark and scary he could have been if the stops were removed. The same goes for enemies like Hardlight who embodies online gaming, Liv with cloning, Obake an amoral and insane scientist, and Trina and Noodle Burger Boy (more on him later) being evil robots. Globby especially should have been painted and written in much darker colours rather being played off for laughs because he has many parallels with Clay Face. The only two villains who I can say were supposed to be campy, charming and comical were Baron Von Steamer and Supersonic Sue because they were a satire of the Adam West style villains.
Tumblr media
The rest of them needed to be dark and threatening including Mr. Sparkles. In fact, I would love a rebooted version of Mr. Sparkles who gives me the heebie-jeebies. Going back to Noodle Burger Boy, I must confess that I was actually excited when I heard that he was going to be the main villain of the final season because I thought he was going to fulfill his master’s final wish and as a reminder, Noodle Burger Boy was based on a super robot for military purposes.
Tumblr media
It would have been fantastic if Noodle Burger Boy was upgraded into a full military war machine with a new threatening look. For that, I think all of the villains deserve to be rebooted and have their full potential unlocked for better or for worse.
Tumblr media
3- A show about geniuses merits genius level art quality. - I am usually forgiving towards art styles, but in the case of Big Hero 6, the oversimplified style with minimal details and lack of textures did not suit the show. The characters blend in with the background which makes them look flat and the special effects were extremely dulled down. I also know for a fact that Disney can do a lot better than this because I saw how superbly Tangled the Series was drawn.
Tumblr media
You can see and almost feel the difference in quality, the number of layers and level of detail between the two styles. I think there was no excuse Big Hero 6 was not done in the same style and at the same level if not better as Tangled.
Tumblr media
3- Don’t dumb down or flanderize amazing characters. - I absolutely detest it when characters are flanderized because it makes them one dimensional and grating. For example, Go Go is tough as nails and extremely calm, but she is not cold or hesitant towards helping her friends. She doesn’t require very special episodes for us to know that. If anything, the movie version of Go Go reminded me a lot of Garnet in how she deconstructed the broody character. She isn’t cold or emotionless. Just calm and mature. Another good example was how Honey Lemon was rewritten to be overly positive to the point of toxicity, naïve and oblivious with a juvenile obsession with stickers. Then you have poor Fred who was rewritten to be an incompetent fool. The spark that makes Big Hero 6 shine is that they are a team of geniuses meaning they are all intelligent. Even Fred is genius in his own way just not a scientific one. He has a vivid imagination, he is resourceful and can get himself out of tight spots. Please, don’t turn characters into dummies especially if their intelligence is a part of them. It doesn’t make them better or funnier. It ruins them.
Tumblr media
4- Tadashi needs closure and honour. - I am all for Hiro making peace with the loss of his brother, but Tadashi is to the Big Hero 6 team what Uncle Ben was to Spider-Man. His loss was the catalyst if not the reason. He should never be forgotten. Moreover, there was never any true closure to him especially with the possibility that he may still be alive up in the air. After all, like Callaghan, his body was never found and it turned out that Callaghan was still alive.
Tumblr media
With that said, who is to say that Tadashi was not secretly still alive and just hiding or being hidden? This is something that Disney really needed to clear up if not for the fans, then at least as a service to such an important character. Never just forget about them.
Tumblr media
5- The format can only be episodic with a deep plots, continuity and character development. - Random episodes with a mere monster of the day is an outdated format which doesn’t fit Big Hero 6′s modern and bright setting. In seasons 1 and 2, when the episodes were plot heavy with character development, the series shined brightest. It also helped move the story along, but with the final season, plot was removed, closure was abandoned or poorly written if any was given, and characters were disallowed from growing. A good example at how plot and character development could have made this series and its characters better was the relationship between Hiro and Megan. Would it have truly survived or would they have broken up?
Tumblr media
Would Richardson Mole have eventually lost interest in his obsession with besting and bullying Fred or would his obsession consume him compelling him to become a super villain? I do see quite a few similarities between Mole and Reverse Flash.
Tumblr media
Then you have Karmi who is in my opinion, the biggest wild card of the bunch. She was intentionally introduced as an arrogant, prickly and unlikable yet complex character who rivaled Hiro bitterly.
Tumblr media
Yet had a huge crush on his alter ego and as time went on, started to grow up and even form a friendship with Hiro. What would have happened further down the road with her? Would she have become a super hero herself? Or maybe even another love interest for Hiro kind of like how Black Cat is for Spider-Man?
Tumblr media
Is Obake really gone?
Tumblr media
What does the future hold Diana (Liv’s clone), Liv herself or the Sycorax the genetics company?
Tumblr media
Is Alistair Krei going to become an ally to Big Hero 6 or an antagonist? There is also the issue at how little we know about the other Big Hero 6 characters other than Fred, Hiro and Baymax. What are Honey Lemon, Wasabi and Go Go’s backstories? These questions matter and while not every mystery can be solved, leaving none of them solved is lazy writing.
Tumblr media
6- Executives, kindly stay out of the writing and any other part of the creative process. - I’m sorry, execs, but there is no nice way to say it. History itself proves that every time executives got involved in the creative process of any media, it got worse not better. Leave the writing to the creative team and the execs should only handle the legal stuff. Please. We understand that TV is a business, but writing itself is not. It is an art which you just don’t have a talent for. Let the creative people do their thing with the freedom necessary and you do your thing, deal? Deal.
Tumblr media
7- Focus on Hiro and Baymax. - The are the main characters so keep them at the heart of the series no matter what happens around them. That is all I can say.
And that sums up all the things that could have made Big Hero 6 the series better, but this is all just my opinion. What is yours?
PS: I am well aware that the Big Hero 6 series is being retconned because a new series called Baymax is in the works as well as the long awaited sequel to the first movie. I am looking forward to both with an open mind. PPS: I also am aware that some people liked this show the way it was including the art style and I am cool with that. An analysis for art that includes cartoons is never right or wrong. It is solely based on opinion. I may have thought this series could have been better, but there are people who make arguments that it could have been worse.

Just a Thought Here
So I’ve had a thought. I’ve been back on Tumblr for a little over two weeks, and for the most part I’ve been excited because a lot of the reasons I left seemed to have stopped being an issue, until the last few days.
I originally stopped posting on here, and specifically in the PJO community a few years back because things became extremely toxic.
I am a Trans/Genderfluid person of mixed race. I had happily made a place in the community that was so welcoming and kind until a mixture of Voltron and bad Social Justice warrior posting crashed through. People became opinionated to the point of sending destructive and cruel things not just to me, but to other people I knew who were drawing things that didn’t align with the person’s personal views of a character. This came to things like Race bending characters and sexuality/gender identity bending characters.
Here is my own personal situation with these things.
As far as race bending goes, and this is particularly bad in the Harry Potter fandom. I don’t believe it is right to race bend a character in a series where the author (an actual racist terf) never represented the struggles of these minorities. I’ve seen so many “Hermione is Black and Harry is Indian” posts trying to prove how Rowling was secretly being inclusive, and what I have to say to that is no. She wasn’t. She wasn’t being inclusive at all. The struggles of these people, there cultures, their worlds, were not represented. I do not feel comfortable with anyone trying to give her that credit when it is deeply undeserved.
My other viewpoint is that race bending is a sensitive situation. You can’t just paint Annabeth brown and say you are inclusive. That isn’t sensitivity. That isn’t acknowledging or creating a narrative where the people of that ethnicity (whatever one was painted on) are represented. I think especially in Rick’s case, he does a pretty decent job of making sure the POC and LGBTQA+ characters have their cultures and struggles acknowledged and set as a part of their growth as a person. (Not always. Like anyone writing from the outside, it’s not always perfect, but I think he tries really hard and I appreciate that.)
Instead of arguing why or why not someone who was never cannonly specified as a minority might be one, I think we should spend more time making our own original characters that portray these people and struggles.
My other question for these people who left rude comments in my inbox about not race-bending characters is, “Are you an advocate for these people off your computer?” if the answer is no, and especially if you are Caucasian and sixteen and angry, just stop. You aren’t standing up for anyone or being inclusive. Screaming through a pc screen that your “baby boy character” isn’t how you envisioned him to an artist, isn’t going to bridge the education gap, quality of life divide, or end unfair border policing. Please stop.
Now on the topic of queer characters. I have been call transphobic as a transman in the PJO fandom more times than I can count because I don’t draw Will, Nico, Percy, or Annabeth as Transgender. I do not believe they are transgender. I believe that if they were Rick would have made that clear as he has been very good about doing in his works. If that ever changed at any point for characters that are lacking in back story, awesome!! That’s super cool! Now, that being said, if you envision that character as such, also awesome! But that doesn’t mean you get to call someone transphobic because their view of a character is different than how you see them. This goes for race and queer rep.
Your opinions do not entitle you to be cruel.
Now lets get to today.
With the news that the Disney spin-off for PJO is up and coming, I’ve been again seeing this gatekeeping bullshit. “Every character MUST be POC or I won’t watch it” or “If they don’t make -character- queer the way I like Rick is OBVIOUSLY homophobic”
I’ve seen people arguing in tags, not discussing, but mudslinging and social justice warrioring, and let me just say guys. You all look ridiculous. It’s embarrassing for this fandom. It’s embarrassing as people. It’s embarrassing as a queer person seeing other queer people shred down others for a differing opinion.
It is okay to be white in a show.
It’s okay to be straight.
It’s okay.
It’s not okay to whitewash a character of color, or wipe their struggles.
It’s not okay to straighten a queer character or dissolve them to a pathetic sterotype sidekick.  Hate is hate. If you believe women are better then men, queers are better than straights, or POCs are better than non-POC people, you are part of the problem.
A rasict is someone who hates on someone or oppresses someone for their skin color or ethnic background.
Intolerance is when someone lashes out at someone who is different from them.
When you hate on or trash talk someone who is different from you and your words are “well they’ve said it about people like me” what makes you different?
What makes you different? All of you?
Are you better because you are a straightaphobe? Because you are cruel to a person of christian faith? Because they are white appearing?
Stop villainizing people because they are different from you. Stop. You aren’t a feminist or an activist. You are hating. And hate is not a place I want to stay in. If that is what this community embraces, that is horrific.
Instead of criticizing, lets all be happy together. Lets embrace Rick’s vision. The actors’ vision, and the adventure of seeing these books become a live action we can enjoy and love. They don’t all have to be POC. Or queer. Or women.  I want to live in love. I want to see that love that Rick built come to us in a diverse and beautiful way.
I hope I’m not the only one.

The world had been destroyed. Zombies. Yes, you heard me right. Zombies took over humanities. They said it was a conspiracy, others said it was planned, someone said it’s a bio weapon but you? You said this was fate and this was meant to be. In the middle of the chaos, your last proof as being a human started to disappear. And in times where you wished for safety, you did finally come to find the man who’s been embracing you in your dreams. Your online sugar daddy.
You’ve lost count of the days. To be honest day and night don’t feel different as you have to stay alert all the time. There’s no time to rest, no time to slack, and no time to worry about what you left behind. It all started as a gas leak in a big biohazardous factory. The company keeps it secret, slowly affecting the workers there who are trying to fix the leak. It’s not a green smoke like what you would see in a Disney villain movie, it’s a nicely colored pink gas that smells sweet but is deadly enough to churn your organs and make you turn into what the society calls “zombie”
The outbreak spreads faster than the plague, with the infected “biting” the human and changin them into zombies. The conspiracy theories maker believe this was planned as how all zombie films look exactly like this. The scientists believed this were an unprepared bioweapon aimed to be released a century from the latest pandemic in 2020. You? You believe this is just fate and that there’s no meaning to hustle about what’s right. You just have three things in your head. Run, Adapt, Survive.
You’re glad you still have your phone, charger, knife, and a radio to contact any bases that have survivors in them. You’ve survived the days by running, hiding, and stealing big cars to help you run over the town. This morning, you got a signal from your radio saying that there’s some group of survivors on a certain latitude and longitude. You quickly take notes of it, and tell them over that you’re going to join them. As you pick your stuffs and put your compass on, you hear your radio static voice.
“How can we ensure you’re human?” one of them with a deep voice asks over the radio and you roll your eyes “Would a zombie be smart enough to find radio signals and communicate?”
You hear a loud laugh on the other end and you note that there’s more than one person there.
“How many of you are there?” you ask suddenly afraid if it’s a too big group and you have to make hard decisions with bigger parties.
There’s a shuffle and a voice comes in “There’s only 6 of us. I am the leader, Kris and you?”
You start your engine, “I’m (y/n). I’ll arrive before the sun sets hopefully.”
“Good luck and stay safe. We hope to see you in one complete piece. Over.”
--
“Who is it Kris?” The young man with a sweet dimple asks the leader after hearing the short conversation on the radio.
“Oh, from the voice I’m pretty sure she’s a survivor like us.” Kris peeks over the blinds of their hideout and notices how empty the road is.
“Can you reach Suho? I wonder if they survive too.” the same guy asks again.
Kris pats his shoulder “They’ll be okay Lay, don’t worry. I’m sure Suho can take care of the guys. Now, what about we try to find food for tonight?”
Lay sighs “I don’t know. With Luhan being weak today from using too much of his powers, I have to be here to help him heal faster.”
Kris sighs, with the 12 of them divided it was harder to fight the zombies. They are gifted with supernatural powers, but at the moment 6 of them are in another place and its their goal to reunite.
Kris left his radio and went to shower. They call themselves the EXO-M, with 6 members of their own powers.

You stop over an abandoned supermarket, after making sure there’s no one around, you quickly hoard all the canned foods and waters. Picked up fires and some warm blanket for you to sleep tonight.
Your journey to their basecamp was not smooth, with you having to walk over some hoard of zombies. With your eyes shut close you hit the gas and just move forward without thinking.
“Hey, hey can you hear me?” your radio suddenly turns on and your ears perk up when you hear the sound.
“Yes?”
There was a sudden pause.
Lay gulps and shakes his head when he hears your voice.
“Sorry, but can you bring us some food supplies?”
You sigh “I already did. You’re lucky but did you know how crazy it would be if I have to go back?”
He groans “You’re a handful aren’t you?”
You were too focused on the road, not filtering your word “I AM. You can say I am a sugar baby at all time, so yeah I am a handful.” you yell that as you strive through some muddy place and you notice there’s a small strong bunker in the middle of the field.
Lay stays silent as he controls his beating heart. Why does something rings a bell in his memory.
He grits his teeth and shake his head “Just come here quick. We have to help our brothers.”
You groan “I am in front of a bunker pretty sure this is where you guys are. How come you can find a place without any infected people?” you ask as you see a man opens the door for you to come in.
“Chen, Tao, Xiumin and Kris go take her foods and keep it safe.”
You yell as the dimpled man grabs your hand into the bunker. You shake it off “Hey, that’s my food supplies!”
“First off my name is Lay.”
“Okay Lay,” you cut him off “Stop robbing my supplies.”
Lay’s eyes turn dark “Hey, you’re the guest here. Don’t you think it’s also dangerous for us to just accept you here?! If it’s not because of Tao’s clumsy hand pressing the radio to give you a signal, Kris won’t bring anyone in.”
You feel offended, “If you don’t want me here you can say that directly. You’re not my master or husband or whatever, i can go if you want that so bad, but let me take all my stuffs with me.”
As Lay was about to spit back words to you, a strong grip separates both of you and you gasp surpsied.
“(y/n) right? Nice to see you come in one piece. I am Kris, sorry if Lay said anything that hurts you. He’s been alert for the last two days trying to heal our exhausted brother. I apologize on his behalf.” Kris, bows at you in a respectable angle and your anger fumes down. He sure is the leader and you’re glad his words didn’t sting.
“Thank you Kris, I like your welcome better. I came here with supplies, I want to share it with all of you but Lay here just robbed my car.” you sneer at the tall man and he just rolls his eyes.
“Lay, would you mind taking (y/n) to the bathroom? She can use some shower and you can check if she needs any medical healing.”
“We’ll take care of dinner. Don’t worry, you’ve had a long day. Good job in arriving here.” Kris sends you off and walks away. You sure like how this Kris manners are
You want to protest for being left with Lay but Lay’s firm grip dragging you into the bathroom left you with no option than to follow him.
--
“I’m sorry, your voice just reminds me of someone and I was distracted.” he suddenly speak up from the shower stall next to you.
You turn your neck to see him, the shower walls are not that tall for Lay. You can see his head from the side, but it covers your height nicely.
You gulp and continue washing your hair, facing the other way as you always did when you wash your hair. Your back facing the shower so that your eyes are free from the water.
“It’s okay, i am sorry I was just stressed and tired too. I swear I am not a handful.” you blush when you remember the first introduction between both of you.
Lay has a special memory working in his head and he chuckles “You’ll say I am wild but you reminded me of my sugar baby.”
You blushed, feeling a tingle on your naked body “Oh, in what way?”
He turns the shower off and looks at you “I never see my sugar baby, We both don’t know how each other look. We’re just talking and chatting and having fun remaining anonymous.”
Now it’s your turn to gulp and turn the shower off, you grab the towel Lay prepared earlier and wrap yourself in it “Now that’s interesting. Mind to tell me why you suddenly remember her?”
Lay chuckles and looks to the ceiling “We did voice calls sometimes, and when you said “I am a handful” you really sound like her.”
You bashfully stare at your feet. There's a bothersome fact in your head that also says Lay sounds like someone you know.
“Alright, I guess we need to go join the others?” you reappear in front of him with your fresh set of clothes you just took from the supermarket.
Lay nods “Before that, a quick check. We can’t have you bleeding or injured around here.” He twists and turns your body checking and pressing here and there to see if you have any wound or broken bones.
“You’re quiet strong for you to be alone for days. Just wounds but no big injuries! I can heal your internal injuries so the infected at least can’t smell you that strongly.” Lay explains and you just nod.
“How will you do that?” you squeak and he smiles “You’ll discover tonight.” he winks and your heart stops a beat when memories of a voice comes back to your head.
He couldn't be…
Dinner was better than what you have had for the past days. Somehow the EXO-M have their own food supplies here but they are also running out of foods.
"Before we eat, let's thank you our new sister here (y/n)," the man with doe eyes smile at you nicely and make all the rest of the men stare at you.
You shake your head "No problem, I should he the one to thank you for accepting me inside. That's a big trust you have."
The men chuckles and Kris hushes them down "We sure knows because only special people like us can survive this long." He begins to take the foods on the table and the rest of them also joins.
You were sitting next to Xiumin and he helps you to get your foods on your plate.
"We eat from the same pan, so don't worry. We don't plan to kill you or hurt you." He grins "I am the one cooking so please enjoy it."
You chuckle, if this was Lay's cooking maybe you will be careful remembering how your first impression wasn't good. Though something still bothers your mind when you see him take a glance or two at you.
You learn about their abilities, a supernatural power that helps them survive until today. Just like you, the 6 men here have their powers and they have a separated brothers who also own powers. Their goal is to reunite and survive together but as far as you understand their story, they still cannot reach EXO-K and no news know what happened to them.
Kris was able to fly, making him the one to do errands like finding foods and shelters. Xiumin is their frost guardian. Luhan is gifted with telekinesis that's why when there was an attack, he had to work hard blasting the zombies away. You learned that Chen has a beautiful and powerful voice and he is gifted with making thunder. Tao can mess with time but he hasn't master time travel yet and finally lay. Lay has a healing power.
"So the 6 of you are unstoppable." You conclude as you drop your chopstick when you're done with food.
They nod "We're quite powerful now but you see we're getting weaker. And we need to meet the rest of the brothers to become more powerful."
"So what's your power?" Tao, the youngest, blurts out the question and you laugh
"I don't have a power. what are you talking about?"
Tao whines about how you don't need to hide it from them but you really don't know what they're talking about
"I am just a regular human." You snap and that brings an awkward silence to the room. You see kris looking cross at Tao and you can't stand the stares so you excuse yourself to hide in the only place you've been. The bathroom.
You turn the sink on and wash your hands, trying to cool your head down but you cannot focus when you see the small tattoo on your wrist. A tattoo of your family surname. You run your fingers over it. Feeling your tears collect again when you remember how they all died on the first week of the apocalypse. You lost everyone and everything you love. You're forced to run and you're so young to survive because your father reminded you that whatever happen go run for your life and leave your loved ones behind.
You wash your face, trying to hide the tears that fall on your cheeks.
when you hear another footstep coming into the room, you turn the water off. You saw him coming and you expected he'll greet you with a "Stop wasting the water silly" but all you heard was a sweet deep voice you've always heard on your lonely nights. On nights where you feel so lonely and dark thoughts loom around.
"May I little one?" A voice you remember.
You turn your head to face him and shake your head "Are you really who I am thinking?"
Your heart screams "Yes daddy," but that doesn't leave your mouth.
He stops and stares at his feet "Are you someone I am thinking of?"
Both of you don't answer the questions. Instead, Lay sits down on one of the benches there and you lean on the washing table.
"You really remind me of my online sugar baby. I hope she's doing fine. I hope she survived. I cared a lot about her."
You let Lay continue talking.
"She said she likes to shower backway, her face away from the shower head. You did that earlier and I was surprised. But hey coincidence could happen right."
You blush laughing a little "You sound like you really care for her."
He nods "She's my favorite."
You play with your hair "Tell me more. I guess listening to stories like this is better than just getting asked about how my journey here looks like."
Yes you really don't need a reminder on how scary getting chased after a mob of zombies is.
"I don't think I'll ever hear from her again." He suddenly leans back and closes his eyes
"Oh how I wish i ever see her."
You fish your pocket and grab your phone out
"Do you want to borrow my phone and maybe look up her account?" You pass him your phone and he looks interested
"We didn't get the chance to take our phones when we had to evacuate. Silly us right." He brushes his hair back and you caught a glimpse of his abs.
"Will this ring a bell to you?" You clear your throat and calm your heartbeat.
"Sugar sweets here ready for you daddy" you close your eyes ready to feel embarrassed if things didn't go as planned. You can feel your ego crumbling but instead of a laugh or a wtf, you got a reply "Daddy's here sweetie, tell me what you want"
Both of you avoid each other's eyes for a minute. Ears flushing red and stomach filled with butterflies. Both of you suddenly laugh and chuckle
"So, you're my sugar daddy?" You finally ask after realizing how weird this should be but its not that weird.
"And you are my sugar baby!" He smiles "I am glad you are safe and here with me."
You walk to his side and sit next to him "i am sweetcheeks14"
He pinches your cheek "And i am the man behind sinfulwhispers"
The two of you laugh and you exhale a breath to relax
"So. What is it your super power?" You chuckle suddenly feeling stupid for asking that
Lay looks at you seriously "You think we were kidding? I really have a healing power."
Before you can scoff and reply with another power to joke around, he already pulls you to face him and as he concentrates you see his hand sticking out just few centimeters away from the stomach you actually hurt yesterday. Despite your attempt to laugh, you actually feel your stomach ache gone and a warm feeling runs in your body.
"There should be good as new. You're welcome." He clicks his tongue and you still freeze there unable to say anything.
"I- i don't know what to say." You touch your stomach again making sure it is really gone the pain.
He just sits down calmly beside you. Giving you time and space to think what the heck just happened.
“I know it’s confusing, but try to think about this.” he brushes your hair away to see your face. His warm big hand creeps up to reach your chin and holds it there “You’re a wonderful sweetheart and you’ve survived this long by yourself.” he searches your eyes to see if you’re scared of him or not, and when he sees your eyes twinkle, Lay erases the gap between you two.
“You have a super power sweetheart, you just have to embrace it.” he presses his lips on to yours and slowly bites yours.
You give in to his touch, finally tasting the kiss from your sugar daddy and finally just finally you’re not tensed from having to sleep in full alert, not stressed over where to take shelter.
Lay hugs you deep and that’s the time when you realize having someone by your side on hard times like this is the best.
Your tear falls from your eyes and when Lay wants to pull away and wipe it for you, you keep pressing his head to your lips and with one gentle move you flick your tears away only for both of you to jump back in surprise.
“What was that?” he asks suddenly holding your hand that just flick the small tears away and definitely leaves a hole on the toilet door.
You stare at your hands in horror, no way you have a super power.
Lay and you freeze in time, did you have that much power? Is that why you keep on slaying and killin the dead?
“Baby, I have a good feeling.” he picks you up before you can say anything and drags you out into a special room where you see a lot of training equipments.
“Would you mind?” he is already holding a boxing tape and you raise your palm to let him wrap your hands with the tape before he gives you an apple to your hand.
“Okay, now let’s see. We both will throw the apple and see whose will stick to the wall there.” he points to a side and you ask if it’s going to be okay.
Lay chuckles “It’s bulletproof, so let’s see.”
Both of you stand from the same line and throw the apples to the wall, sure enough yours leave a crack mark on the wall but not Lay’s
Suddenly the room echoes with claps and you turn your head to realize that the others are already here.
“We saw you running here with Lay, so we watched the camera.” Kris explained
You blushed, what if both of you were going to fuck, will they still be watching?
“Now, the final check to see if you’re still human is this.” Luhan points to a chair and you look at them confused.
“We’ll take your blood and do a quick lab test, our antibodies will be different if you’re immune to the “zombies” here.” Luhan explained as he already poked a needle into your vein and take a tube to test your blood.
“Go sleep and don’t think or worry about anything. We promise we won’t do anything to you. Take your well needed rest.” Xiumin explains and soon after the brothers discuss, Lay decided to take you into his room.
No one has to know what happens in that four walled space. You’re finally with your virtual sugar daddy and there’s a guarantee that the room is sound proof so both of you didn’t hold anything back.
“I’m glad you found me.” Lay whispers after both of you are done chasing your highs and cuddled nicely under the bed covers.
You yawn “I didn’t expect to finally be in your arms, but I will trade anything in this world to be here. I feel safe. Thank you Lay.”
Lay kisses the top of your head “Love you sweetheart, let’s see the result tomorrow and if you’re totally immune and like us, you’ll stay with us.”
You wonder what if you are not immune, will they throw you out? But before you can ask Lay already hugs you closer and hums a lullaby to your ear.
You settled on not trying to know what will happen if you’re not like them, and choose to sleep trying to think that everything is okay.
--
After all, you’re glad you find them and that they don’t disown you. Because having one more of the undead in their 12 immortal group is a good thing.

I agree with you on your views about the writing of F&TWS. I think our show was meant to come out before WandaVision. But Spellman had to go back and rewrite things and they had to do major re-shoots. My hope is that Spellman is better prepared for Cap4. I feel as though Spellman bit off more than he can chew because yes, our show had too many VILLAINS. Spellman didn't take cues from Sam's comics while he was Cap. Sam as Cap in the comics is down right amazing and it should be shown more in the MCU. Sam's journey as Cap seems rushed and it shouldn't be. Sam Wilson is an amazing character and deserves better treatment from Marvel/Disney. One of my main issues with Spellman is that he is a tease. When Sam rallied his community together to help him, he introduced himself as "Paul and Darlene's YOUNGEST boy". Youngest ?? So, that means that Gideon Wilson is in the MCU somewhere. Some on here say that Spellman wanted to add Gideon but the show wasn't the right place. if they toned down the number of villains then maybe we could've gotten more Sam Wilson flashbacks because his fanily, his experience and his community shaped him into the man we love today. I think Spellman was overwhelmed with our show and i hope he gets his shit together before Cap4. Sorry for the long rant. Sam is my baby and i want what's best for him. Be glad i didn't add my Bucky rant as well, lol. Thanks :)
Lol, have you seen my rants... it is small compared to mine. But I love your passion and am happy 😊 you agree on this point.
I want to believe that they must want to save the origin story type stuff like Sam and Bucky's past without Steve Roger's (only cause Chris Evans shows no sign of returning any time soon, so why expect him for a flashback) in order to flesh out their characther's more. We know more about Hawkeye, even before his TV show from Avengers 2 with the secret coming out about his family and the farm in upstate New York. Or from why he went Ronin with the blip and Natasha, Wanda, and Nicky Fury's interactions with him. He wasn't a sidekick that needed the support of others to stand on his own in the MCU.
But Sam and Bucky sorta are sidekicks to Steve. Bucky is a prop to help flesh out Steve's past and the reason Steve moves away from blindly following orders from people like shield. Sure he is given a little backstory to show how Bucky was before he became Winter Soldier and after he broke away. But we don't know anything about if Bucky has siblings. We don't know why Bucky feel like a shield is the only family he has. We don't know what he was doing between the time he saved Steve to the moment Steve found him in that dingy apartment. Bucky is mostly fleshed out but I really wanted to see his past and if he sought out people from his past like Steve did elderly Peggy. How did he mourn Steve and Natasha? Did he stay in contact with the people from Wakanda or did he just moved back and just live in that apartment in NYC. How does he get money? Does he work or is he getting backpack as a former us soldier?
Sam, who is supposed to be the new captain america probably isn't given the respect he deserves because he too was a prop for Steve. All we really knew about him before the TV show was that he was a va counselor, was one of thr limited that was part of the falcon project, clearly shoes signs of ptsd Nd survivors guilt for letting his fly partner Riley fall to his death, is sparky, loyal as fuck, ND opinionated to the point it is clear he does what he wants to do and not what someone suggests. But beyond that we don't get backstory on his family. What made him join the army? Does he have more siblings? How did he recover after losing Riley? Does he even have a house anymore after the blip? I mean from the TV we know he has a sister and two nephews. We can confirm his parents are dead and left a broke. We can confirm its hard out their for blipped people to get bank loans and he still faces racism. But like what made him decide to continue to be a hero when he told Steve at least twice he enjoyed civilian life, once in Cap 2 and once in Avengers 2. Does he keep up with the others like he does with Bucky? It is clear him and Rhodey are close despite arguing in Cap 3, they made up in Avengers 3 and was dicussing Sam giving up the shield in the tv series. Did he mourn Natasha's death? What did he tell his family when he was on the run? Did he reach out to Peter Parker to console him when Tony died and Peter was accused of killing someone? I mean Sam might have started off rough with Peter but it was mentioned before Sam was supposed to be in Spiderman 2 at one point. Plus he and Bruce are the only oldest, active, remaining Avengers... what with Thor running off with Peter Quill and his crew, Nick Fury awol, Natasha dead, Tony dead, Clinton so called retired, Scott Lang so called retired,Etc.
I probably have more questions and had hoped they could have been answered in the tv shoe but hopefully in Cap 4 it will be.

unpopular opinion: Micah is terrible but he shows instances of having real, human emotions and completely erasing those moments to paint him as a 100% monster is a disservice for the fandom.
arrrrkajslkfjdsglk okay I'm gonna break Micah down and explain why I like him, just bc of everything going on and cause you've summed that up perfectly. Let's make one thing clear - I don't stan his actions, I never have, I never will. A lot of ppl seem to keep ignoring that lmfao. AND we all know that Micah is a fucking piece of shit. He's the devil. We know. Like the list goes on and on and on when it comes down to why Micah's garbage, but I guarantee you, there is NOBODY out there who actually *stans* him. He's a villain and damn good one. Now. Relating to what you've said, this man has just as much emotion as everybody else. I think the people who view him as an emotionless monster have either never seen ANY camp interactions with him, or they just choose to ignore them. For whatever reason. Idk. It is VERY obvious that Micah has 100% been abused by his father, probably physically as well as mentally and emotionally. He openly talks about the monster that his father is, and he KNOWS that he is just like his father. Now, Amos (his bro), on the other hand, has managed to break away from that lifestyle, straighten his ways, and settled down. Micah is so obviously jealous and even takes the time to write to his brother, probably to try and rekindle their sibling friendship or whatever you wanna call it. Amos basically goes 'NO' and slaps that idea right out of Micah's head, so I do feel bad that Micah was rejected. Amos makes it clear that he will only rekindle that if Micah changes, but he doubts Micah is able to change. So now his only 'role models' are gone - his father and Amos - Micah has nothing left to lose. He has no family, friends that encourage his chaos rather than help fix him, and no partner. He's a loose cannon, and without guidance, Micah will only continue to fire. That's why he sucks up to Dutch so much, because he STILL needs acceptance, praise, and guidance, and Dutch gives him all of that. Yeah, it's creepy to see, but that man must be dying inside if he'll literally lick Dutch's shoes just for a bit of acceptance. Micah clearly does try, like his approach to making friends is so cringe, but he's clearly never ever done this before, and he's only following the ways his father taught him. I mean, we see him still try to befriend Arthur at the start of the game, but Arthur barely looks at him and just continues to shoot him down. I know Arthur is probably following his gut, but people can't say that Micah didn't try. And we see him try it on with the women of the camp, he's clearly desperate to at least find a partner, and probably secretly jealous that his brother has that and a family. And if his brother can do it, then maybe he can too? and we do see him try. But Micah's no rapist, and it makes me cringe when ppl say that. There's a good post about it (here) that I won't go into detail, u can just read that for urself. So - Micah has nothing to lose. The camp doesn't want him there, so it's no sweat off his nose if he rats them out. Obviously, I don't agree with it and I think Micah should have just left, but then that'd be a very boring game lmfao.  There's nobody stopping him from causing chaos, and he's just going to continue to do what he was taught to do - be a fucking piece of shit. But to say he has no emotions? You sure about that? It's SO obvious that Micah still craves acceptance in any form, whether it's from a friend, a partner, his mentor, etc. He NEEDS acceptance and he seems very lost without it. And it's so clear that Micahs past trauma still controls his actions, and he clearly has no idea how to even begin accepting and moving past his trauma. That man just needs a therapist asap. Peter Blomquist said it himself, that Micah is essentially just misunderstood. (here) And well, if his own actors said that then why the hell do people continue to ignore it? Because they just want to hate Micah. They view him as an evil and racist piece of shit and just want to hate that, which everybody does cause yanno, it's bad. But they continue to ignore that Micah, like Bill, suffers from a lot of mental trauma and issues, and his past has resulted in the person that he is today. I’ll say this AGAIN, I’m not condoning his actions, far from it, I’ve said many times before that Micah is fucking garbage, we just find him interesting. Honestly, I think if the gang was accepting, or if Micah had someone to shove him in the right direction, then he would have redeemed himself and fixed his ways. Things like racism are taught, and if you can teach it, then you can unteach it, just like Bill begins to learn. Micah is a villain and that's why I like him. Again, I don't support or stan his actions, but it's just so refreshing to see someone so chaotic and loose. People saying that you shouldn't like Micah because he's racist, also choose to ignore the fact that Abigails abusive, so why do y'all still stan her when we see the way she speaks to John? or the way she physically abuses him? So abuse is fine but racism isn't? hmm.  But if we shouldn't like Micah because he's bad then why the hell do we like characters like Darth Vader or all the fucking Disney villains? Have you seen how much merch those criminals have? But a bunch of strangers on the internet having a wank over the ratman is bad? We're allowed to enjoy those but not Micah? big sigh. Peter also said that there's nothing wrong with liking Micah. You're allowed to enjoy villains, it's not a fucking crime, and it doesn't mean you support their actions, it never has done.
PLUS, this is a game full of mass murderers?!?! Arthur does a LOT that is considered questionable, such as beating a terminally ill man into his grave, but people choose to draw the line at Micah. You’re free to enjoy whatever fiction you want, but there’s no line you can draw. Well, you can draw a line for yourself, but you can’t rule what others can and cannot enjoy.
It's just SO tiring (personally) to constantly see happy endings and pure, wholesome, golden characters. I'm a sucker for bad guys and seeing them win, so when I played RDR I was like 'oh yeah, this is what I need' and that's probably why Micah's my fave lmao. It's so refreshing to see, and there's nothing wrong with enjoying it. Some people just enjoy villains, big whoop. We need to stop expecting characters to be pure cause that's just so unrealistic. Everybody has flaws of all different kinds, and that's what makes these characters human. Like, are we just choosing to ignore the fact that Arthur is the most wanted out of the gang, who has probably murdered the most people? Do we just wanna sweep his kill count under the rug and choose to hate Micah based on the one fact of him being racist? The whole fucking gang are outlaws, they're all essentially villains, even the babies like Kieran!! Micah is just as complex as every other character in this stinky game, and people who refuse to acknowledge his layers and just portray him as a monster are whack as shit. And remember, those who tell you what you can and can't enjoy are just as bad as Micah Bell himself. Especially the ones who abuse you over FICTION.
