For your portrait study you should definitely do Ruby and also Elizabeth! Ruby's expression is honestly heartbreaking and I love how Elizabeth is shown to be almost cute, very good subversion of what you would expect.

I tried my best to replicate Ruby's expression here, but by god is it difficult! It is such a nuanced facial expression, I had to redo the brows and eyes like 4 million times before I settled with this!

I am pretty proud of this one! To think this is only Day 4 of my study and they're already shaping up!

Klassby / Stereo Hearts

Klassje is a very artsy person but doesn't like to show it. She's artsy in the form of writing poems and abstract art but doesn't tell anyone. When Ruby finds out for the first time, Ruby is mesmerized, how could someone be so artsy but refuse to share it with the world? In a way, Ruby understands, but she feels the need to tell, to express just how much she truly adores Klassje's way of art. So she does, and for the first time in forever, Klassje feels recognized, she feels appreciated, but she continues to close herself off. She continues to keep her guard up and refuses to show vulnerability. And even if it's for just a moment, she feels a sense of self pride. A sense of self-confidence she didn't have before. But she can't show that. What would everyone think of her? What would they say? She has a reputation to keep up afterall. But even so, she can't help but smile to herself. Maybe one day she'll be able to turn a new leaf. Maybe it's not today, but one day in the future. Sometime later in in the years, she will open up, she will change for the better. Not today though. it's not time. Not yet.

i chose the song under pressure bc not only was it an earworm i had during the time i was drawing this, but also because of this lovely edit that ignited some very strong emotions in me! go check it out!!!

i also considered choosing a tagalog song, but to be honest, i'm not much of a music listener so i didn't know enough songs that would've reminded me of disco elysium or had the vibes/inspiration i was looking for. but, oh well!

another inspiration for this drawing was that one sculpture with flowers bursting from its head that people were redrawing, i kind of wanted to capture that but a little differently! instead of drawing flowers, i get to draw one billion trillion disco elysium npcs good god why did i do that to myself

it's actually been a while since i've drawn this i'm trying to remember if i have anything else to say hm hm hmmm oh yea accessories harry's got are the eight-eyed teratorn tie and on the side is the hat he gets from annette! (it's not very obvious, it just looks like a very colorful part of the background too but that was what my idea was anyways pftt) i wanted harry to be wearing things that were out of the little acts of kindness you do in the game.

i haven't read thru the full zine yet bc i've been busy orz but from the pages i flipped through i'm just blown away by everyone's works!!! thanks so much for the mods for organizing this!!

made this regarding the situation which recently occurred on twitter because there was no way for me to stay quiet. disco elysium is inherently queer. that’s it. trying to deny that is not understanding the very basis of the game. you can’t claim to be a part of the fandom while being extremely homophobic or transphobic at the same time, nor get to take the clout for cosplaying a main queer character. do your research and stop embarrassing yourself, especially after you’ve already been exposed.
