And yes, I see it says that the soldiers got better, I’m not blind. But like, I wanna focus on the fact that this is the ONLY route to have a line like this. All the other routes have generic lines about suffering in Abyss, but the abuse line is AM only. You can check the data mine if y’all wanna check behind me

The Ludomire collection (SF & Fantasy) by PVH Editions, a swiss publisher. Design by Dimitri Jeannottat.

The design is one thing, and a great one, but what I find even better is the way these books are shared with the world. Not only are they available in print and epub but they can also be printed at home: PVH's print@home collection (FR only). You get the PDFs from their website (for a "pay what you want" price) and it comes with a one-page notice on how to print & bind it. It's a very simple bind, no cutting, just one stitch to do. Much easier than the way I bind my collection, ha, ha. See their notice + (parts of) one of their book that I'm printing:

Isn't that wild? It's the first and only time, so far, that I find a collection that's shared the same way mine is. And this is one is by an actual publisher to boot!

One more thing to note, something that I read on their site and obviously can't find anymore now. It's that out of all the ways you can buy these books online (ordering it, buying the ebook, getting the print@home version), the latter is the one that will protect your data the most. You don't give your address, your mail or anything. You just download a file. This is very in tune with the content of (some of) the books themselves - the one I printed, Printeurs ("The ones who print") features a dystopian future where you get ads directly injected into your brain. Yikes. Anyway, I don't have any analysis to give you on this format/diffusion model, but, this is a good find and now you've heard of it too.

So thanks to the debates on whether or not Edelgard is a queer icon, I actually went through and counted the number of same-sex endings in Houses as of the DLC. I counted how many same-sex endings each character had, and then added the total together.

If we went just with how many there are without looking at the content of said endings, (and we include both genders of Byleth and Sothis as part of the Church of Seiros numbers since most of the time wiki and data mining pages do the same), then the total number comes out to:

Black Eagles: 18

Blue Lions: 13

Golden Deer: 8

Church: 21

DLC: 8

But if you actually stop and look at how many are strictly platonic compared to those that are either implied to be or are explicitly romantic, the number changes drastically The total of implied/explicitly romantic leaning endings ends up being:

Black Eagles: 18

Blue Lions: 13

Golden Deer: 4

Church: 16

DLC: 8

If we add up the total of romantic leaning supports to calculate the percentages, then in terms of same-sex romance, the approximate percentages are:

Black Eagles: 31%

Blue Lions: 22%

Golden Deer: 6%

Church: 27%

DLC: 14%

The Church would be brought down even further if we removed both Byleths and Sothis, as they make up most of their total. Removing Byleth from the equation entirely makes the numbers resemble something closer to this:

Black Eagles: 15

Blue Lions: 12

Golden Deer: 4

Church: 6

DLC: 6

And when comparing the lords endings, Edelgard is the lord with the most same-sex options that could be considered potentially or explicitly romantic in nature, with a total of 5 (6 if we include Byleth). Dimitri comes in second with 2 (Dedue and Felix). And Claude has no explicitly romantic mlm pairings to be found in canon, as his only endings of the same gender (Lorenz and Balthus) are explicitly platonic/political. And Rhea's only options are Byleth (which can be rather concerning if we want to debate if that's incest or not), and Catherine.

The only characters with explicitly only 100% platonic same-sex endings are Claude, Lorenz, Raphael, Ignatz, Gilbert, Alois, and Cyril.

The only characters with no same-sex relationship options, platonic or romantic, are Ingrid, Hanneman, Seteth, Flayn, and Anna (who got only a paralogue and no supports at all).

So really, when looking at things as objectively as possible using math, Egeldard and the Black Eagles are the most queer, followed by Dimitri and the Blue Lions, the DLC, and then Claude's Golden Deer brings up the end. Rhea and the Church can either be second most queer or tied for least queer depending on if Byleth is included or not.

Not at all surprised that the Eagles are the gayest house, but the Deer kinda surprises me with how het they are. Out of curiosity, which non-lords are the most queer from the Eagles and Lions? For the Eagles, I'm guessing Dorothea. Lions... maybe Felix?

Data Mining: Dialogue - Dimitri

Going through the data mining, I will be collecting quotes from Dimitri and about Dimitri from other characters and putting it all here. 

As a disclaimer, I will not be looking at every piece of dialogue- rather, I will be showcasing the dialogue that looks interesting or is important overall.

Blue Lions: Byleth vs Shez *spoilers*

Let's be clear, Byleth was never a 100% fan favourite as many people thought of her as nothing more than a self-insert. While others, myself included, felt that she came with too many pre-defined traits to be a self-insert. I mean, she had Jeralt! That alone pretty much put her in a different category to other silent protagonists, for example, every Elder Scroll PC!

However, just on account of being full-voiced, Shez seems to have captured hearts and minds and is seen as more of their own character than Byleth. Indeed, a lot of people have started saying Byleth was the worst part of FE3H. I disagree and I'll share my spoiler-filled, including data mined stuff, thoughts under the cut!

I think it's pretty clear by now that Three Hopes is a different lens on the War phase of Three Houses. The spoilers have indicated that the War phase is unlikely to be significantly different to Three Houses because apparently, Azure Gleam has a fight with the hegemon. This makes sense because the majority of the complaints people had for Three Houses did revolve around the war phase.

Shez is allowing for more factional insight in relation to the War. Looking at the Blue Lion C-support with Shez, they are all about how the Lions relate to each other and their culture. Felix talks about how well he knows his three friends. Ingrid gives Shez a crash course in Kingdom nobility. Rodrigue talks about the adaptations the Kingdom has had to make due to their geography and landscape. While Sylvain is about the worry he voices in passing that the crests are failing and one day soon, relics will just be something to look at and can't be used to defend people.

However, the flip side of this is that there is a pretty severe case of the "no new friends" thing happening with the Blue Lions. Now, this might be patched later and there is evidence that some characters from opposition factions can be recruited into your own camp. But as things stand, the Blue Lions can be divided into an in-group of the Fearghus four of Dimitri, Felix, Ingrid and Sylvain, and an out-group of Dedue, Ashe, Annette and Mercedes.

Ashe and Mercedes are adopted members of the Fearghus high or at least wealthy (in the case of Mercedes's adopted merchant father). While Dedue is a man of Duscar. Annette is interesting in that she is a crest-bearing noble of the kingdom but due to Gustava not bringing his daughter to work and her uncle's loyalty not being firm on account of bordering the Empire, she's not part of the core Fearghus group and Duke Felix Fraldarius has to treat her as a political calculus and not just be charmed by her songs.

As a result, A-support between the in-group and the out-group are somewhat lacking. Felix, for example, doesn't have an A-support with Annette or Mercedes. He had one with both in Three Houses. Sylvain's only outgroup A-support is with Ashe, which he didn't have in Three House but he loses his A-support with Annette and Mercedes. Ingrid does not gain any new A-supports, but she preserves her out-group A-support with Ashe and Dedue. But even Dimitri loses his out-groups A-support with Annette!

For me, Byleth was a justified Corrin in that she seemed to be loved and adored by her students but it wasn't without justification as you got to witness how she went from an outsider to a beloved professor over the course of the year. So it made sense that she could bring together people from diverse backgrounds and mould them into a coherent whole around her.

Now I maintain that despite how amazing Byleth was, it doesn't make sense that Ingrid, Sylvain and even Felix would side with her over the Kingdom in Crimson Flower. But you can make a good case that Byleth as a professor emphasised her students follow their own ideas and not be bound by their background, as highlighted by the C and B supports she can have with her students in the Academy phase. So it makes sense that even Kingdom students might choose to trust their professor despite their own misgivings.

The same is not true of Shez so far. Shez is becoming part of whatever group she chooses to support. Byleth in SS, VW and AM had her own faction in that she was a representative of the Church and to an extent, that was the problem. Byleth had power but the mechanics of the game meant she couldn't exercise the power the lore gave her. It didn't really matter as much in AM or CF because those were the Lords story but you really felt the lack of Byleth's agency in SS and VW, with VW not even being about the Lord.

So for those who wanted more of the Lords and to learn more about the mystery of the TWSITD, and here I am assuming we will get more answers about them, Hopes is great!

However, I don't think throwing Byleth under the bus is fair. She served a different purpose to Shez in Three Houses. She broke down cross-cultural barriers, that was, unfortunately, both her strength and her weakness - for those who wanted more of the culture of the Lords!

At any rate, I look forward to seeing what the full Three Hopes game brings!

Look, I love Claude. Claude is hands down my absolute favorite of the three Lords, and the Golden Deer are 100% my children -- there’s not a single Deer I don’t love with all my heart, even if I do take issue with some of their behavior (Hilda’s anti-Almyran prejudice and Lorenz being...Lorenz). So I am unrelentingly bitter about how he and the Golden Deer on the whole have been effectively passed over by IntSys.

Let’s take a look at the numbers, shall we?

3H Characters in Heroes, by House

Now, if we take out the CYL units since those are the only ones that players had a hand in, here’s the spread:

And call me a cynic, but I don’t expect them to change this up anytime soon. Early on after the 3H release, the Black Eagles were the most “popular” house based on the online data rankings. Edelgard beat Dimitri in CYL4 by a wide margin of 10k votes -- but she beat Claude out by a whopping 15k, and Lysithea barely got honorable mention after that. They are leaning hard on the Black Eagles’ popularity, and given that half of the summer units were Blue Lions, they seem to realize that their popularity with the fanbase is something worth mining while they try to pretend they don’t have a bias. But Lorenz really seemed to have been geared as a joke unit with that outfit, and the fact that they made him free rather than one of the gacha pulls -- even a 4-star one -- speaks volumes to me about how they intend to treat the Golden Deer.

I think Dimitri fans can safely expect him to get a Legendary, possibly even sometime this year or early next year before the second anniversary of Three Houses. I’m just hoping we get Legendary Claude before the damn game folds.

It doesn't seem like the data mining resource is complete but its interesting that despite not having an ending with Dimitri, Sylvain has quote a bit of special quotes with him. I do think he's closer to Dimitri than most people believe. Dimitri even calls him "like a big brother" in the Japanese version.

My theory is that Dimitri’s male A supports highlight his two most important relationships, but that’s not to diminish the value of the other guys in his life. He and Sylvain definitely have a bond all their own.

Can't wait for the fe fandom to reanimate the talks that lie abt Byleth's age being 21 instead of 20 at the start of the game (if you call them 21 you have to call Claude, Dimitri, and Edelgard 18... I know this common fandom myth came from data mining but you can verify it by your mom's grave or your dad's diary) as well as say people are predators for shipping them with students who are the same age or older than them (pre-timeskip) in the new dlc and call it pedophilic instead of just saying they're not into Byleth being a professor who can romance former students regardless if they're age appropriate or not and leave it at that

Ok so if the only units you take with you into the Abyss side story are Claude, Dimitri, Edelgard, Hilda, Ashe and Linhardt then Yuri literally does not support with ANYONE you bring with you into that story except Byleth if we are going by the data mined info.

Tea Time Aftermath

I made a very short drabble for a dear friend of mine. 

Dimitri x Reader Fluff No Spoilers Note: I’m just assuming Dimitri becomes the ruler of Faerghus after the time skip because I’m trying to avoid spoilers

You settled down on the sofa in the library, limbs sore from the previous battle against the Adrestian Empire. Edelgard was not there in battle, but the commander of the army was formidable and put your team on the defensive. It would have ended in a failure had it not been for the bonds of your allies, especially the current ruler of Faerghus. 

Speaking of which, the ruler himself was busy tending to affairs. He needed to collect and analyze data from the last battle, hoping that this win could improve moral to his people. He was hard at work, determined to but Edelgard in her place. It did not matter if they were once classmates. What mattered now was that he needed to stop her stampede against Fodlan.

As you took a long sip from your tea, you heard the familiar klinking of armor approach the library. The metal was muted once the wearer collided with the plush carpet floor. Unceremoniously, the man plopped himself on the couch next you. The added weight caused you to jump up briefly, but you were accustomed to this and you were unfazed. Once you finished your tea, you carefully laid the empty cup onto the plate. 

“How is everyone?”

“Everyone is fine.” He replied gruffly, removing his hefty armor for the night. “Once again, I am ever so grateful for your help, my dear.” Although cold and frightful, Dimitri’s manner softened whenever he spoke with you. His gauntlets were placed on the table, and the rest of the armor had been splayed out in front of him.

You simply shook your head, lips curling into a smile as you faced your beloved. “Nonsense, the people of Faerghus rallied with you. They saw your charismatic ways and devoted themselves to you. If anyone should be given the credit, it should be you.” You stated a matter of factly, your sweet smile was enough to make Dimitri lighten up.

With you, Faerghus’ frigid winters could not freeze his heart.

Once he removed his armor, Dimitri took your hand and held it, thumb gently grazing over your hand. He found the action to be soothing, especially after a rough battle. 

“I certainly am thankful for everything they have done for us.” Absentmindedly, he raised you hand and kissed it. “It’s amazing how far my fellow classmates have come -- even Felix has begun to warm up.”

“Really?” You smirk. “I think he still refers to you as a boar, love.”

Dimitri chuckled. “Yes, but now it is less common for him to do so.”

You could not help but giggle, and you pull yourself closer to the blue clad leader. His smile is genuine, a rare sight during these times of war. 

He draped his fur coat over you, providing you even more warmth that the tea could not provide. You certainly appreciated it, curling against him and humming contentedly. 

“We’ll win this war; I know it.” You reassured him, eyes glinting with an earnest determination.

Dimitri pressed a tender kiss to your forehead. “With you by my side, I do not doubt it. You are a pillar of strength Faerghus, no, I, need.” 

“Then allow me to support you through these times. We have no idea what the future holds, but I will be there for you -- I promise.” You cup his cheek, thumb rubbing against his cold skin.

“I love you” He whispered, leaning in close.

“And I love you, too, my dearest Dimitri.” You whispered before closing the distance and pressing your lips against his.

Hm, re: Patricia, is it possible she wasn't initially evil/with the Agarthans? She was seperated from her brother so she might not have known about his replacement, along with the experiments being conducted on El, until it was revealed to her in order to offer her a Faustian Bargain: help orchestrate the Tragedy of Duscur and get her daughter back. Only for the Agarthans to back out of the deal and get rid of her after the deed is done. I know this theory has a lot of holes lmao, but it's cool.

We know so little for certain that absolutely everything is possible/plausible including the possibility that she was duped. I can’t say with certainty that it wasn’t so so your interpretation is as good as mine. 

Even so, if she was willing to sacrifice Dimitri and Lambert, she’s an irredeemable monster in my book, even if her goal actually was to see her daughter. She’d been raising Dimitri since he was a toddler, and cold-bloodedly left him behind to die? Not to mention the political fallout, the following years of instability chaos and poverty, the witchhunts that led to people like Catherine and Cristophe being blamed, the atrocities inflicted on the Duscur people...

Of course, it’s possible that she was just given vague unspecific orders like “stop the convoy here” without knowing what the result would be.  

But there are a few factoids that make me think that she was fully in on it:

She recommended Cornelia as a royal advisor, with it being explicitly noted that that’s the only reason she got her job despite the suspicious personality changes

She didn’t mention having another kid... even once

How Dimitri describes her in the Mercedes support makes her sound pretty creepy, like he was afraid to ask her about something as trivial as sewing? He always states that she was supposedly nice and virtuous but he’s the type to remember things in an idealized light 

Dimitri’s statement that she “left him behind and dissapeared into the flames” could be taken metaphorically but it could mean that he literally remembers her ditching him and assumed tha she was thrown into a fire while he wasn’t looking

She was taken alive, unharmed and with no sign of struggle. If she was a witness why not kill her? Even if she didn’t know what would happen, wouldn’t she struggle and protest the moment she saw it happening? 

Doesn’t it strike you as mighty suspicious that she got with the two most powerful men in the country shortly before misfortune befell them and their families?

I mean with all the evil fathers around is it so strange that there would be at last one evil mother? Mothers aren’t automatically innocent. 

That said since everything is very unclear an ambiguous I state again that this is just my opinion/interpretation/extrapolation from very limited data points and that until we get more evidence is IS fully possible that she was simply duped.

I'm not one for schadenfreude but r/edelgard has been going through a meltdown since the leaks started (after initially being smug about the Claude Edel handshake) and it is DELICIOUS. Like literally the game goes out of its way yo tell you Edelgard is imperialist. And ato one point she teams up WITH rRhea. I love it.

I saw, lol. It went from “HAHA WE WIN” to “WTF IS THIS SHIT” very quickly. 

And don’t get me wrong, I’m also “wtf is this shit” in some places too, but not because I’m trying to gain some victory. 

Apparently the German reviewer said Azure Gleam felt short/the ending was abrupt, but tbh I’ll take a rushed ending over total character assassination any day

Yeah, I saw that. And some other reviews have said that GW feels a little confusing on the politics and that SB barely touches on the Slithers. So, sounds like some bad writing might be heading our way again.

I heard people saying its a golden ending because the slithers are defeated and all the lords survive, but then I heard it’s not because war after the story is still implied (and all the fuckery involving claude and rhea, rhea can NOT catch a fucking break and the edelstans/khalidstans will eat that shit up), and it’s getting to be quite confusing! All I know for sure is that the discourse will get even worse and will truly show that 3houses/hopes have the worst fire emblem fandom experience

So, there is no “golden” ending. There is a secret ending, somehow unlocked, where Arval is killed. And the lords agree to a truce. A temporary truce, mind, because apparently there are hints that this truce won’t last. 

I highly doubt the blame will fall on Dimitri, dude literally is just “get off my lawn, I’m busy” embodied.

wait wait wait WAIT!!! In that little Dimilix blurb you posted am I supposed to take it that Felix was giving Dimitri a piggyback ride back to his bed?! Based on Dimitri saying his legs are dragging, Felix complaining about his height, and the tidbit of Dimitri carrying Felix once as kids it all suggests Felix is carrying Dimitri. That is both incredibly hilarious and ridiculously adorable!!!

Does it say yet why Claude wants Rhea dead so badly in GW? He didn’t like her (at first) in VW but in Musou he’s outright willing to invade another country to kill her

We haven’t found out why yet. It’s still a big mystery. And a sad mystery. 

Like how you can play with both the GDs and BEs in SB/GW because of Edelgard and Claude teaming up, do you know if any of the BLs are recruitable to the other routes?

The BL’s are the least recruitable. Of the students, only Ashe and Mercedes can be recruit. Ashe all routes, Mercedes only to SB. 

It seems all the GD will just mass join the Empire at a certain point, likely due to Claude teaming up with Edelgard. However, the same is true for BL - the GD mass join Dimitri EXCEPT Lysithea and Leonie (BE recruits only). 

So if you like Felix or Sylvain, or even Annette, BL is the only route for you.

Now there is a “memory” battle type thing where you can replay any map with any character, but that’s not a “canon” way to play. Just for fun.
