cold touches [gn/m.reader]
i come not in peace >:( i’m here to hurt some men and make people cry,,, so i present to you a bit of role reversal. this is my way of avenging the poor readers in those angst fics lmao. i got u, u beautiful being. also excuse the sudden tiny letters, i’m still experimenting with the formatting in tumblr mobile :”))
this is just angst. hurt no comfort, but do let me know if you want that comfort or if you want to hurt more men nyehehehe. the sacrificial lambs for this fic are zhongli, childe, diluc, kaeya, and ayato :D
Ayato
Were you always this cold?
Ayato wonders often if he’s trapped you in a marriage. But it didn’t seem so on the very day you promised yourself to him as he did with you. There was a deafening silence in the wake of your emptiness, and a terrifying coldness that suddenly jumped out at him with little to no warnings.
He sat on the head of the table and watched his sister and Thoma converse so happily, and he wondered when did you start missing out on meals just like that. He seems to recall a time when you too would join in on the lively chatter that reverberated through the Kamisato estate. You and Ayaka often brought him or Thoma into the spotlight of light humiliation as you teased relentlessly.
And then suddenly, you were gone.
“Thoma,” he found himself speaking, unable to hide the light tremble from the corner of his lips. There was a familiar pit of disappointment that nestled within him. “Where could [Name] be? They’re not one to miss dinners, no?”
The chatter ceased and Ayaka looked at him with a smile and Thoma with an equally carefree look — and something twisted at him. How could they look like that knowing that you were incomplete, and on the very day that he was finally free momentarily of responsibilities too.
“Ah— well, it’s hard to say. They rarely show up to dinners recently, my lord. So I have been keeping my lady company more during dinners.” Thoma laughed a little, though there was an edge to it.
Ayaka’s smile was still there, but her eyes glimmered with loneliness, something Ayato felt significantly sorry for. You were her first friend above all and Thoma, but she was understanding and probably did not question your absence either.
“[Name] told me they had business to handle. They have been quite sporadic with their presence, brother.”
His sister and his trusted keeper understood, so why couldn’t he? There was something that gnawed on his heart at the thought of you constantly out and about — and how hypocritical of him; as if he wasn’t doing the same.
“Ah.”
The chatter resumed with little regard for your absence.
The late night fell and Ayato was deeply unsettled. Your spot in bed was so, so cold. He tossed and turned and imminently ended up facing your side, where he always assumed you would be. At least up until recently. He wasn’t aware of this development in your schedule at all, why wasn’t he made aware of it in the first place anyway?
His stomach sank at the thought of you disregarding his opinion. He never did that to you, did he? Ayato always sought you out when he dealt with important matters. Was he not as important as he thought to you? For you to just… disappear apparently — was he at fault?
And his worries quelled when the door slid open. He quickly sat up, eyes dilating at the sight of you arriving quietly. Only that when you looked up, you met his gaze and his heart dropped when you flinched. What was that? You never do that around him.
He stilled his thoughts with an iron grip as he flashed you a loving smile, undeterred by your odd behavior, “Hey there, my moon… you’ve been quite busy, I heard.”
“Ah. Yeah,” you shifted your footing, something you did when you were inherently uncomfortable in a situation. “Sorry. I thought you’re asleep already.”
“No… I was waiting for you,” he braved through the tiny cracks that he could feel his guarded heart make and coaxed you still, shoving away the million questions of why on earth could you be so… uneasy in his presence, your spouse. “All day, actually.” He clarified with a small smile.
You nodded in acknowledgment before disappearing into the closet attached to your bedroom.
Ayato could only wait in silence. A silence so piercing. What happened? Did you have a bad day? Were you in a difficult position? Surely he of all people can help. He would do anything to keep your wits intact and to keep you safe, anything to keep your happiness in this marriage.
And his heart melted at the sight of you when you emerged from your closet in your patterned yukata.
“Are you feeling alright?” He asked as you sat on your side of the bed. “You seem under the weather.” Ayato had to choose his words carefully, the least he wanted to do is tick you off even more than you probably are right now.
“Mhm,” you hum out your response absentmindedly. “I’m fine. Good night.”
Ayato could no longer hold back the heartbroken frown that tugged on his lips as you slid into the covers. And he was hit by yet another wave of silence, yet this time, he could hear his heart shattering through the dim room. He watched over your figure that slept facing away from him.
“Good night, I love you.” He tried again.
Whether or not you were awake or asleep, he never knew from your lack of response.
And Ayato didn’t know what could be more heartbreaking — was that whether you went to sleep without your endearing proclamations of love to him or that he woke up with another cold empty spot beside him.
𐂂
Diluc
Were your eyes always this hollow?
Amidst all the work that Diluc has done for Mondstadt, even he couldn’t deny the following neglect you have probably succumbed to. And that, he truly felt sorry for. And he did all that he could to catch everything within his hands, juggling Mondstadt’s wine industry with his business and acting as the great vigilante of his city.
He has fought countless monsters and has been wounded from his countless exploits — something he couldn’t exactly avoid. And back then, you would welcome him with worry and fear in your eyes that you patched him up, through your blurry eyes from all the tears threatening to escape.
Since then, Diluc has learned to lessen his casualties in fear of pushing you over to the brink of insanity from all the times he has to come home late at night, possibly injured. He cared so much for you that he started to care for himself even more. It’s the least he could do for his fiancé after all.
And finally the day Diluc craved arrived, a good few days that he will spend in your arms and nothing more. Sure, he couldn’t retire his duties as Mondstadt’s night hero, but according to the outrider that he so often saw within the streets, there was less hilichurl activity and that knights can actually afford to rest quite a bit.
That was enough for him.
And when he crawled into the bed with you that night, he thought about finally tying the knot with you. You were engaged for far too long, Diluc figured you and him have waited quite enough until finally exchanging your vows and spend your eternities together recognized as each other’s spouses.
Diluc hoped to face the next morning lazing around in bed with you that time, only hoping then that Adelinde would have enough sense to just leave you two be than to insist on getting the day started regardless of the little vacation.
But he woke up without you.
The sun was already high up, judging from the view outside the window of your shared room. Diluc thought it adorable — that you were thoughtful enough not to wake him up. You were always so understanding and he couldn’t be happier to be with you, and now that he has time, he intended to show it to you with all his might.
By planning that wedding you and him have been waiting for.
He was in a particularly good mood as he got ready for the day, opting to head down and hopefully catch you doing something. Diluc couldn’t wait to see the look on your face once he breaks the news to you, and sure couldn’t wait to be with you, attached to your hip for the remainder of what he calls his self-appointed holidays.
As he descended the stairs, he visibly brightened at the sight of you already eating beside the head of the table, with Adelinde serving you more of that sunsettia juice that you so loved.
He was courteously greeted by the staff present and he did so too, opting to ignore that you weren’t one of the ones that greeted him and initiated instead.
“Good morning, dear,” he greets with a smile as he pulled back his chair to take a seat.
“Morning,” ah, your greeting was strangely bland, but nothing Diluc should worry about. There were days you woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and he could just as easily soothe it with his own presence. And with the news he’s about to break, surely nothing could make you happier.
“I’m surprised to wake up in my own company earlier. Did I keep you waiting?”
You shrugged a shoulder, completely attuned to the paper you were reading.
Diluc prodded one more time, “Something wrong, dear? You seem off today.”
“Am I?” You absentmindedly responded and yet he couldn’t hold back the wince from your cold tone. “I’m feeling perfectly fine.” You muttered, but it was loud enough for him to hear.
In his time spent knowing you, he already knew the tells of when you were untruthful or when you were serious. This was the former, as it seems. And he opted to dispel your troubles away with his own news. Yes, that’s right. Maybe you were only hinting that you’ve been waiting for far too long. And Diluc has heard the anxiety from men and women who were betrothed, afraid that their loved ones would suddenly disappear in the middle of their betrothal.
But to you, he could never do that.
“I have quite a lot of free time today and for the following days,” Diluc smiled, and though you couldn’t see him behind the papers you were reading, he was basically radiating off the warmth of joy. “And I thought… it’s a good time for us to plan our wedding, yes?”
“Huh?”
His heart skipped a couple of beats at your lackluster response. And while he welcomed the sensation usually, this was a heartbeat that did not lean into happiness.
And finally was he met with your gaze that were often so soft—
Why… are you looking at him like that? With those eyes that stared so hollowly, void of any happiness or excitement, it contained nothing but pure and utter confusion.
Diluc felt the dread crawl into his system but stomached it, “Did I say something wrong?”
The unnerving stare you held was something he could never forget as you turned back to your paper.
“No. You’re fine,” you waved him off. “Sure, we can do that.” You agreed.
You agreed like it was not a big deal, like he only asked you do something remotely casual with him. Like he didn’t ask you to plan the most important part of your lives with him.
Diluc felt like he swallowed needles when his gaze fell into your hand.
Clean and ringless.
𐂂
Kaeya
Is it just him, or is the distance growing bigger?
You were always an exuberant fellow and perhaps that was why Kaeya felt compelled to sweep you off your feet, not knowing that it was you who would do such a thing in the end.
Since the day he promised his forever with you and you with him, Kaeya has never felt more complete. In his cold, cold world filled with betrayal and pain, you were the fiery oasis that melted what gnawed within him like persistent termite. Your compassionate touches were always something he looked forward to, leaving him gasping for air and writhing underneath the skin of your touch.
He took care of the flame that you handed to him so generously, and he didn’t care whether or not it was slowly melting the icy guard he managed to put up. Let it melt for all he cares, from it, he can flood you already with so much love that you deserve for even putting up with him on his hardest days.
When you refused to abandon him whenever Diluc would kick him out of the tavern, he could feel the warm fuzzy feeling in him chipping away at the glaciers of walls he worked so hard to build up. When you came by all the time to ensure he was getting his sustenance, the heat of your compassion was slowly melting the jagged spikes of ice he had in his heart to ensure his protection.
And to him you were his world. You were Kaeya’s one and only soulmate.
The world that you and him lived in could burn to the ground for all he cared, as long as he was by your side for all of eternity.
You gave him so much of your warmth that he slowly started to break free from that metaphorical ice prison he kept himself inside in for so long. You held the key to it and he could not be more grateful to be saved by you and only you.
So then why is it that when he started to cave into your warmth, you decided to huddle into the blistering cold?
Why can he see the familiar icy walls slowly sprout around your heart?
Why was the flame you gave him, the one that he carried and took care of for such a long time slowly dying out?
Why were you refusing every single chance that he tried to give back to you, to also melt your slowly freezing heart?
All of a sudden, your touches were hauntingly cold. They were so light that they could’ve been nonexistent in the first place and Kaeya dreaded that feeling. He grabbed onto you with all his might but why are you suddenly miles away from him? Why were you being imprisoned in that same icy cell that he locked himself into?
Last he checked, you were the one that taught him that he could be free with you. So why won’t you do the same with him?
But Kaeya was not him if he wasn’t a man of determination. He took on his missions with gusto and absolute persistence and he was not going to back out soon.
And as he cradled your weakened flame in his heart, he tried, and tried, and tried.
“Been awhile since we’ve been on a date, huh?” He refused the temptation to crack. His grin was intact much like always, trying to invite you back in his arms for once.
“Really? I never knew,” your words were so unfocused, so vague, and so inattentive… so unlike you— the you that hung onto every word that he said (like he did to you), the you that spoke so accurately, little to no details left behind (something that he would brag about you). “Sorry, I guess.”
It hurts to see you apologize so unapologetically. But perhaps you were going through a rough patch. You had been there for him when he went through his, what’s stopping him from doing the same to you?
“Do you want to then?” Kaeya offered, but even then he could feel the way his smile trembled, unstable and something he’d never be caught dead in. “It would be nice.”
He ignored the light scoff that came from you and ignored the pang in his heart when you rejected his offer.
“Sorry, I’ve got official business. I’m departing for Natlan soon.”
Sorry. His brain echoed. Was that your sixteenth apology for the day? Kaeya wonders how much more he can take. But even if he couldn’t he would break, and break, and break just for you. He’ll make as many considerations as you did for him.
“Oh. How long are you going to be away for?”
“It won’t be for awhile. It’s diplomatic relations after all, so I can’t give you the exact estimate of the duration… sorry.” There it is again, that cursed word that you chanted like a mantra, dooming him into an endless spiral of your empty apologies.
Kaeya nodded, suddenly feeling meek as he looked down on his book.
Sure, you’d put up with him in the early stages of your relationship, and sure he would apologize over and over again until the words ‘sorry, my bad’ didn’t even feel like actual words anymore. But surely he wasn’t this bad, right?
Surely… he wasn’t this distant, right?
But as his eye watched you walk away, grabbing your coat from the rack and leave, Kaeya counts the days.
And for you, he will wait, and wait, and wait.
𐂂
Tartaglia
Since when were you so busy?
From your shared home, he watched as you wrote something relatively unimportant to some paper. Surely whatever it is, it doesn’t warrant you to deprive him of your attention. Sure, he has been busy for a couple of weeks, but he was here now and suddenly you were the one who didn’t have time for him?
That sounds wildly self-centered, but Childe could care less at this point. He still made effort to sprinkle in little bits of love on the rare occasions that you would see each other inside this house.
And he gave it all, gave all that he can to you and only you. And Childe watched with delight as you relished in every affection he had given you.
Time and time again.
Until suddenly your reactions that warranted him the sweet joy of being with you were no longer evident and felt by him. Something pierced through his heart the very first time he took notice of when you lamely pressed your cheek against something that wasn’t even his lips and called it a goodbye kiss.
Though he supposed he was delusional enough to say it was cute, that you were probably just tired that you couldn’t muster the energy to be smothered in his undying affection for you. And he easily forgave that excuse.
But then every gesture dwindled in love. You gave hugs that barely had any heart to it, kissed him so emptily that it only left him feeling just as hollow. Childe would frown and hope you take notice, but you were back in your own world, brushing him off like he was a bother to you.
So he ought to try this time. He made sure everything was set in motion for you.
Back then, you always mused about having a lovely picnic by the Luhua pool and he figured now’s the perfect time to grant that wish of yours. It may be a couple of months too late, but he needed to be with you so desperately and he figured doing a nice picnic outing would be the perfect activity for the both of you.
Childe, ever the efficient man he is, had cooked up every single thing, from your favorite dishes, to your desserts, and had planned the perfect spot to be in. He even scoped it out prior to the official date that you and him were going to. He made sure that hilichurls, treasure hoarders, and abyss mages would steer clear of that one lovely spot.
All of it, he would do just for you.
So then why?
Why did you look at him with such mirthless eyes, contrasting his that brimmed with nothing but excitement for the day planned ahead.
“Heeey my little cabbage!” His tone held nothing but merriment as he drawled his greetings out. His eccentric greetings were always one to get a blissful and heavenly laugh out of you. He ignored the slight stinging pain that stabbed through his chest when you barely even acknowledged him, still sucked into your… work.
He heard no responses from you but a sole grunt that had the unvoiced question. Childe persisted with a smile, “I’ve got a surprise for you! Why don’t you lay off your work for a moment, hm? I’m sure you can spare some time for your beloved boyfriend, yes?”
His heart hammered against his ribcage as the suspenseful silence filled the space between you and him. It felt like awaiting orders from Pierro, but even so, it wasn’t this dreadful in terms of waiting.
“No thank you.”
Childe felt numb when he his anticipations of your acceptance got curbed with your collected rejection.
Did you even consider in those few seconds of silence? Did you think your decisions through? Heck, were you even interested in his surprise? Or did you ever listen?
“Aha! That was a trick question! The only right answer to that was a ‘yes’, I’m afraid!” Childe regained his footing in the conversation, hoping to reel you back into his arms.
And finally, you granted him mercy when you looked at him, “I can’t exactly put this behind, Ajax. Sorry.” You said, and yet Childe felt your lack of remorse upon your refusal. “Why don’t you take Mr. Zhongli out?”
The way you were quick to disregard him was something Childe never thought he could ever prepare for. And he almost staggered back when you uttered the words he so loved to say to you back then;
“I really can’t today. Maybe next time?” You offered, but somehow, Childe knew that was nothing but a hollow promise.
He could only close the door from your personal study and looked at the basket neatly packed. There was something squeezing at his chest, a sensation he didn’t like in the slightest bit.
Childe didn’t know if it was the disillusioned part of him that sank into the abyss, but he gathered himself and fooled himself into thinking that nothing much has changed and nodded, taking your promise to his slowly shattering heart.
Ah. Well. Maybe next time then.
𐂂
Zhongli
Were you finally getting tired of him?
The adoration you and Zhongli shared was something to be admired. Countless people have watched you and him walk the pier and occasionally chat with vendors. The couples in love always expressed their sentiments — at how they hoped to embody even just a fraction of what you and Zhongli had.
You looked at him as if he shaped the mountains (and he technically did) and he relished into your unbridled attention. He enjoyed the time you spent with him constantly, you listened to his stories from the past and not once did you turn away from him as he spun his experiences into tales that only you of all people would appreciate.
Every word he uttered, he dedicated to you and only you. He wanted to share every piece of him with you and though the stories he told was barely a quarter of his life, he would tell a hundred more just to see you smile.
And he deeply cherished these moments, you brought fresh insights into his stories and listened so attentively. He loved you through the stories he told and you loved him through the endearing expressions you showed throughout the tales he would tell you.
Not a day goes by that Zhongli wasn’t thinking about you, of course. By the minute he wakes up, his mind automatically sifts through the many experiences he has been through, ready to give you more of his stories. This was your way of bonding after all and he appreciated every single moment of it. There will always be room for his storytelling in your otherwise busy schedule, you reassured him that much.
But then you started missing out.
The first instance was when he had patiently waited for you at that one spot just outside the harbor, the tea he had graciously prepared growing cold. And just as he was about to call it a day, you appeared, completely disheveled and out of breath, like you ran for your life.
Nothing warmed his heart more than seeing you try for him. Zhongli was already a man that felt the dedication of his people, but it always felt different when it was you who put the effort in.
After your frequent tardiness, you began to stop showing up altogether. Disappointment would flood his system when he would see Xiangling approach him with a smile that contrasted the sad news that you could no longer make it because of some other pressing matters.
But Zhongli was forgiving, he forgave every meet you missed, every time his stories started to go from one ear and out the other. He was determined to keep it going because, surely, this was only a one time thing, right? Perhaps your work has been doing numbers on you and what could he exactly do but only take care of you and soothe your worries with his tea and his stories.
Zhongli was forgiving, but he wasn’t completely unperturbed. In fact, there was a seed of anxiety that started sprouting within him as he roamed the streets of the harbor alone. He could feel the missing warmth of your arm around his waist as he talked to the usual vendors, not missing the sympathetic gazes and the not-so-hidden grimaces when he recounts that you have been all too busy.
And he wonders why you’ve grown so quiet inside the house.
When you could laugh so hard in the presence of someone else.
As soon as he heard that tinkling laughter of yours, he was quick on his feet, eager to see that smile that you so cruelly hid from him. Only to see you with someone else.
A young woman, by the looks of it, long hair and dressed in the most pristine clothes. Zhongli wasn’t completely flabbergasted, you could have friends that could make you just as happy, but the fear nipped at him when he watched the woman leave searing touches on your body, clearly with intent and you made no attempts to reject them.
There was an unmistakable pang of envy in Zhongli’s chest when he saw the way you so freely entertained this woman’s stories when you can barely spare him a second of your time.
Zhongli was thwarted back into the pain of reality as he compared the way you seem to be so much happier in the company of this woman in contrast to your recent interactions with him.
And he could feel himself grow cold. So, so cold when he realized that you were slowly showing hints of pure disinterest in him. The way you refused to look at him at times and when you could barely muster a word out when he would ask you about your day.
But he figured this was a sign from the fates, that he ought to take you back this time. That maybe you have been spending far too long of time away from his embrace.
And so he made sure to indulge you as best as he could when you finally arrived back home.
As you sat on the dining table that night, Zhongli had to jump through the many hurdles of pure anxiety just to finally initiate a conversation with you. To this, he could only hope his centuries of wisdom from being one of the oldest archon can aid him with you.
He took your hand in his, strangely cold and closed off, but he did not let it discourage his attempt, “Beloved, I seem to have noticed your sudden… disinterest in our conversations…” he began his little intervention. “Would you mind telling me what’s bothering you?”
Zhongli squeezed your hand in comfort, and he could feel his heart drop when you didn’t return the gesture, instead sliding your hand away from his grasp.
“You’re imagining things, Zhongli.” You claimed so casually as you continued with your meal. “And you already know I’d tell you anything that’s bothering me.” You said, looking at him with a small smile.
And yes, he knew. Zhongli knew you would.
But he also knew that when you lie, your eyes were like the abyss and that smile of yours didn’t reach your eyes.

[𝙉𝘼𝙈𝙀]
Voice Line
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
HELLO
Hello! Uhmm.... Do you have any prior scheduled meeting with Dottore?
CHAT: RECEPTION DUTIES
Right now I wish I was doing more than sitting here, I do not have much reception duties. Who would want to visit Dottore anyway. The one's who visit are strictly here to do business. Like The Regrator talking about funds and all that jazz.
CHAT: AKADEMIYA DAYS
My days back then in the Akademiya were a bore. The only that got me going was my goal to seek the truth of this world. Know the forbidden knowledge that had taken over the Sumeru dessert long ago. Even if it had costed my life. But no need to pursue such a thing, no more. I already know something better than the forbidden knowledge that spread through in the past. That was the past. Isn't the present a bit more interesting, now.
WHEN IT RAINS
Hmm... The sounds of rains makes me feel at ease. That it makes me wanna play in the rain. But my sickness forbids me to do so. Also Zandik he has forbade me to do so many times.
WHEN IT SNOWS
Hmph! When has it not snowed in Snezhnaya! Such cold climate has gotten me many days stuck in bed, cold with a fever.
ABOUT [NAME]
Hah? You want to know more about me? I am no one of interest. Just your normal receptionist at Lord Dottores Headquarters.
SOMETHING TO SHARE
One time The 11th Harbinger had been bored to death and had dragged me to spar. Not knowing I have zero capabilities in the arts of any type of fighting. Dottore was 'quite' the upset not knowing my were abouts
(This voice line is inspired by "mrpenguinpants" on tumblr check them out they are the reason I started this fic)
INTERESTING THINGS
I find the unknown quite interesting. The things that Zandik had foretold me have been feeding my curiosity. I know a lot of things. Especially about that one traveller and its pet.
ABOUT ZANDIK/DOTTORE
I call him Dottore during work hours. He is not fond of other people knowing his name of the past.
ABOUT THE TSARITA
She is a Archon. That wishes for something unattainable but still is trying at the cost of ○○○
ABOUT PIERRO
Ah! He was the one to recruit my dear. He only tried to recruit Zandik but Zandik had told him we were a pair either I come and if not he also doesn't.
ABOUT CAPITANO
I don't know much about him. Only the stories from my love. But be wary of him.
ABOUT COLUMBINA
Dottore has foretold me many stories of the Harbingers. But I don't think I should be sharing stuff about The Damslette. You are warned. Try not to cross her.
ABOUT SANDRONE
A very uh... How do i describe her a very creepy lady. The way she smiles has a very hollow feel to it, and that machine that always seems to accompany her. She too is always engrossed in her research like Dottore
ABOUT ARLECCHINO
I would call her a very fierce Lady. Managing an orphanage home is quite the hard work the children there are future Fatui soldiers.
ABOUT SCARMOUCHE
Who?
ABOUT SIGNORA
Her passing was a tragic day for The Fatui. She was back then known as the Crimson Witch before joining the Fatui.
ABOUT PULCINELLA
With how small he is you would think how can such a dwarf like him harm you. I wouldn't cross him if you have a family here in Snezhnaya. I don't, so I wouldn't care.
ABOUT CHILDE
Always looking for a challenge, but none of the other harbingers would spar with him. He admires The Captain giving him that look of admiration.
ABOUT THE TRAVELLER AND THE PET
The time they had arrived, they created many set backs to the Fatui's plans. Dottore is not fond of an outsider, a additional piece to the board.
ABOUT DILUC

ABOUT LISA

ABOUT KAEYA

[NAME]'S TROUBLE
I am bored to death. I am only ever not bored when with my lover, which is not all the time. I have stopped researching due to my constitution getting ever more weaker because of the cold climate of Snezhnaya.
[NAME]'S HOBBIES
Listening to gossip is one thing. You hear lots of things from just sitting around at the reception table. It is mostly fatuus elbowing each other to who will report to Dottore.
FAVORITE FOOD
Hmm... Let me think. I think I like almost any food except for vegetables.
LEAST FAVORITE FOOD
I had stated previously vegetables. Especially the green colored ones. I just have a random hatred for those. I still eat them as Zandik insists that it is good for my health. Health my ass

THE STEAMBIRD - ANOTHER RECAP SPANNING ABOUT 10 DAYS
10/9 - 10/16
UTA proposes to Diluc for.. ‘unknown reasons’ and opts to believe that Diluc is a Tsundere when Diluc rejects his advances. He’s planning the wedding right now.
MONDSTADT FATUI HARBINGER CLONE TRIES TO MARRY PROMINENT FATUI HATER
Diluc Ragvindr, Owner of the Dawn Winery, was bombarded with a proposal by the Fatui Segment, UTA.
The two are notorious for having squabbles like an old married couple.
When ‘proposal’ is said, it means a literal marriage proposal.
That’s right. UTA, segment of the second Fatui harbinger, proposed to Ragvindr, who is well known to hate the Fatui with a burning passion.
A notable quote from this exchange is: “What does that have to do with selling my soul to the devil incarnate with my hand in marriage”
Ragvindr agreed to marry UTA if he went and choked on an insignia.
Diluc most likely said this with the intent of making UTA choke and die so he wouldn’t have to marry UTA and wipe out a key stander in the Fatui’s ranks.
It did not work. UTA lives on.
UTA is currently planning the wedding anyway. He’s already started sending out a ‘hypotehtical’ guest list. And picking out marriage jewelry.
Jewelry and not ring because Ragvindr claims he, besides not wanting any of UTA’s stuff, said he has too many rings and doesn’t need one.
UTA suggested a necklace or earrings, but Ragvindr rejected both saying that either way he didn’t want anything to do with UTA and his.. gifts.
Kaeya finally gets down from Dragonspine and is currently recuperating from hypothermia at the camp at the foot of the mountain. Will the brothers reconnect?
KNIGHTS OF FAVONIUS CALVARY CAPTAIN FINALLY MAKES IT DOWN DRAGONSPINE AND IS RECUPERATING FROM HYPOTHERMIA
Kaeya Alberich, Calvary captain of the Knights of Favonius and adopted brother of Diluc Ragvindr, after being stuck on Dragonspine with Lisa Minci, KoF Librarian, has finally made it down the mountain and is now recovering.
For a brief recap, Kaeya had gotten stuck on the mountain while descending with Chief Alchemist Albedo. This was because the two were stopped by a cryo cicin mage, who attacked them and while Albedo went to go get help, Kaeya fought for his life to hold out until reinforcements arrived.
The reinforcements in question was Lisa Minci, who ordered Albedo to call upon Diluc Ragvindr also, because the power of her electro vision alone wouldn’t be enough. Lisa and Kaeya hold out on the mountain, and Kaeya slowly freezes to death.
Soon after Diluc arrives on scene and saves the day, racing down Dragonspine with his adopted brother in his arms.
Flash to the present, Kaeya has woken up after passing out from hypothermia and we await to see if the two brothers will reconcile and get over the past disputes and reconnect as brothers again.

Blue Oni Takuya gets stabbed by a ronin named Nogata on Yashiori Island. UTA and Arataki Itto are racing to his rescue.
BLUE ONI GETS STABBED BY RONIN
Takuya, honorary member of the Arataki Gang and Blue Oni, while strolling through Yashiori Island, reminiscing of past memories, was assaulted by a ronin.
The ronin, Nogata, pounced onto Takuya and stabbed him.
Takuya cried out for help and Arataki Itto, leader of the Arataki Gang, answered the call, saying he’ll come and chuck his bull, Ushi, at the ronin until they die.
Actually, besides Arataki saying he’ll come and beat up the ronin and save Takuya, clone of the Second Fatui Harbinger, segment UTA, also said he’d come to Inazuma and beat the life out of the ronin for Takuya.
As of right now, though, nothing has actually happened yet, but we all hope that Takuya will make it out alive and recover.
At the time of this article being published, editor Charlotte had approved this issue.. But the last time she was seen was earlier in the morning and since then a Fatui Agent went into her office through the front door.. But she hasn't been seen yet despite her saying she wanted to keep her eye out for some more stories to cover this week. She said to release the issue nonetheless if she didnt come back out with revisions. Since she hasn’t, we, the Steambird, are releasing this week’s issue now!
Ooc: Charlotte got slashed by the fatui agent and i have yet to be gotten back to by fatui agent anon so for now we’ll leave it like that

Hi! For the Unusual Fic-Specific Asks for Authors, I'd like to ask two things about Broken Ground! First, perspective flip: I think you mentioned Lisa being more present at first and then cut out of the scene, so I'd like to know more about that :> How was it from her point of view? And also, time after time: when the group arrived back to Mondstadt after the ordeal, how did Lisa react?
Thank you for the ask! :>
I'm not entirely sure if you wanted Lisa's perspective on the scene that happened, or the one I cut, but I do love the one I cut even if it didn't serve the story, so I'm going to pull it out and POV-flip it up to the point when I realized I had to back up and do something different. >>
Lisa is still standing on the top of the Ordo steps when Barbara and Master Diluc come into view. Barbara she'd expected; Diluc she hadn't, not quite yet. She'd thought she would have to send Huffman, whom Kaeya has assured her is quite reliable when there's information he wants to distribute, to the Angel's Share to ostensibly roust out any off-duty knights who'd taken up drinking there. At which point Diluc would take off on his own initiative, with no idea of his course or what he might intend. This works out much better. "Lisa!" Barbara calls, rushing up the steps. "What happened? That cloud is from where my- where Master Jean went, isn't it?" "It does seem to be," Lisa says, patting Barbara gently on the shoulder. "We don't know for sure what's happened there just yet, but I'm trying to find out." "I take it this wasn't part of the plan." "Not at all," she tells Diluc. "This was only supposed to be a scouting mission. They must have found something very interesting indeed." She keeps her tone confident and unconcerned for Barbara's sake, hiding her own tension. The thought of Jean and Kaeya out there facing something that could have caused such tremendous chaos alone--or worse, having failed to face it, and lying injured somewhere--makes her chest ache with worry. A part of her wishes that she'd been there, though she knows there may not have been anything she could do. The best thing that she can do for them now, Lisa reminds herself, is to stay calm and in control and coordinate the emergency response. It's where her talents most lie. "Have you sent anyone to find out?" "Not yet. If it's something Jean and Kaeya can handle themselves, there's no rush, and if it's something that they can't, then there's no point in sending anything less than another captain to help them out. Noelle's gone up to Dragonspine to collect Captain Albedo, and I'm sure he'll set out as soon as she finds him." She's supposed to keep an eye out for Amber on her way, too; some advance scouting wouldn't go amiss in this situation. But she doesn't want to make Barbara any promises that she can't keep, and collecting Albedo is the higher priority. Amber is impressive for her age, but not nearly as strong, and incapable of dealing with the kind of earthquake or landslide that the evidence implies. "But...." Barbara blinks furiously, clearly fighting back tears, and shakes her head. She knows just as well as Lisa that Lisa is making the right choice for the situation, but Lisa can't blame her for her resistance. Behind her, Diluc is frowning. Lisa can see the wheels turning already, but a little nudge doesn't hurt. She deliberately gives him an arch smile. "You know, Master Diluc, I'm sure a former knight-captain would be just as capable as any of our current captains in an emergency."
...Which isn't the end of that conversation, but is the point where I realized I had to cut it, because I hit that line and realized that I wanted Diluc to have the agency of making that decision himself, but also (as I was writing it from his POV), he was coming to it too slowly to beat Lisa to the punch, because this would have been offering assistance directly to the Knights. So I cut out both problems by having Noelle summarize the situation, and making it a direct and immediate response to Barbara's desire to go herself.
As for Lisa's reaction when she returned, a combination of concern (because of the state they were both in--it didn't make it in, but I actually had it that Kaeya couldn't even take over for her for a couple of days because the Ordo has a policy re: concussions) and relief, because her friends were alive! She had to do the actual work of running the Ordo, and while both of its other top two members were out of commission to boot, so despite what she'd like to do (which was spoil them XD as well as Barbara and Noelle, who were both pretty bad off themselves after all that healing) she had to focus on doing three jobs solo for a while, which was probably even harder once news got about that Jean and Kaeya were both out of commission.
But once Kaeya recovered enough to take over, she unceremoniously took three day's leave and spent it sitting in the Cathedral infirmary drinking tea with Jean and Barbara (and keeping Noelle from working too hard by keeping her busy fetching and making tea for them), reassuring herself that everyone was all right! And sitting on the sisters just a little while she was at it. :3c
#asked and answered#why not meme i guess#fic nattering#lisa isn't lazy she's just efficient#(and imo fully capable of just steamrolling diluc)#(which is how i absolutely take that scene in the manga where he tells her about his father's death#given that it's an emotionally fraught memory for him and she's a near-stranger)

(spoilers for the new quest)
I'm still confused about the timeline because... kaeya has memories of khaenri'ah, which should have stopped existing 500 years ago. but he arrived in mondstadt as child, spent his childhood with jean and diluc, in the present. time travel?
kaeya is khaenri'ahn, but he doesn't seem to have the immortality curse nor the hillichurl curse. how? or maybe he is immortal, but his body can still grow normally until adulthood? still, he doesn't seem to have memory erosion.
what was in that taboo medicine recipe that allowed strange mushrooms to grow from corpses? or was caribert's mom special in that way? they needed some kind of fertilizer, and water near the statue of seven taken at 2pm... reminds me of how you had to wait until 2am to scatter wind clusters in the nameles island east of mondstadt.
the abyss twin was also referred to as prince/princess of khaenri'ah. were they already considered "part of teyvat" during that time, which is why they have records in irminsul? how? why?
what happens when a hillichurl removes their mask? why do the fatui wear masks when wearing delusions? oh, was the mask's purpose to protect them from abyssal powers?
so the "loom of fate" has something to do with: caribert removing his mask and getting corrupted by the abyss, but it also refers to the current abyss order's attempts to construct a mechanized god. but I think caribert died and was actually the one buried under the field with his mother.
the abyss twin didn't seem to be reverent either, so I wonder how they became the successor to the abyss order. what happened to clothar in the end?
the "sinner" can allegedly see the traveler through memories; or rather, through the leyline disturbance that gave the traveler the memories of their abyss twin. who are they?
-
while I do think kaeya knows more than he's letting on, I think players are too suspicious of him sometimes lol. I think he genuinely wants to stay in mondstadt and escape his origins. his sixth character story was very clear about how crepus' death made him regret not being decided on his loyalties. mona's divination for him as well says, "he believes he has made a clean break with his past, but one day fate will catch up with him. when it does, he will have a major decision to make".

As Kaeya left Zhongli behind beneath the shadows of the windmill, he tried very, very hard to not suddenly break into a sprint. He has dignity, damn it, and Zhongli will see him walk away from him with grace! He doesn’t need him, and he was very adamant in showing that. Or at least, trying to, if he didn’t trip over his feet from his inebriation.
At least he didn’t fall.
Still, once he knew he was no longer in the older man’s line of view, Kaeya booked it.
He ran, climbing over Mondstadt’s walls (somehow without falling and cracking his skull open) so he doesn’t risk running into Zhongli heading out of the city from the front gates at the same time. It’s crazy what pride and heartbreak can do to someone, even in their drunken stupor.
The wind brushed past him as his feet carried him to the one place he needed to be right now: home. Not his cold and empty apartment where he’d drown in his sorrows alone. No, he needs home.
He needs his big brother.
Admittedly, when Kaeya made it to the doors and began knocking on them incessantly, desperately, he was already a bawling mess. Miss Adelinde and Elzer were completely panicked from these wails as though a banshee came to haunt them and rattle the very foundations of the manor. However, what they found outside was no apparition, but Kaeya. A sad, broken, pitiful Kaeya who’s not once ever cried as hard as he was now since he first arrived at the Winery at the tender age of eight.
He was a blubbering mess as he threw himself into their arms when they began to hover around him fretfully, wondering if he had somehow gotten hurt. If something terrible happened to him. However, he couldn’t tell them anything at all, and just kept crying out for Lulu while slumping and growing heavier and heavier in their hold from sheer exhaustion.
Sleep was something that often evaded the Winery's young master, and tonight was hardly any different. For some reason, he'd been unable to shake the feeling that something was wrong, agitated and restless as he tossed and turned in his bed, desperately grasping for just a few mere hours of rest. In the end, he had to compromise with reading a book, hoping that distracting his thoughts might allow his mind to settle.
Eventually, pure exhaustion did the job for him, as it often had to, and he passed out with reading book in hand--
Only to be awoken by the sensation of falling, and the book clatters to the ground, leaving an unsightly dent in its leather-bound spine. Diluc mutters a curse under his breath, swinging his legs out from the covers to retrieve it, and as he reaches down he becomes aware of the front doors of the winery slamming open and shut.
A great, almighty wailing echoes up through the walls of the manor to reach him, and he freezes, chilled by the sound. Was he still dreaming -- having a nightmare? He tries to blink the sleep out of his eyes and stands in favor of picking up the book, taking slow and careful steps through the dimly-lit space to lurk in the doorway.
He peers out into the hall, red eyes straining to adjust to the brightness of the light, and realizes that the racket belonged to...
"...Kaeya?"
He stands at the very top of the staircase, fiery locks spilling loose across his shoulders in a cascade of curls that lay in sharp contrast to the long, pristine white nightgown that swallowed him up.
His body looked comparatively dainty, completely lost among the swathes of fabric and hair -- but it made him no less quick 'pon bare feet as he seemed to glide down the stairs in an instant. It made him no less strong when he plucked his brother up from being half-way off of the ground, hoisting him up in an embrace that was equal parts crushing, yet as certain and as tangible as the ground upon which they stood.
It signified a promise: to be present, always. He wasn't ever about to leave him. Not again.
He didn't ask what was wrong. Didn't need to. Kaeya needed him more than any of that, first and foremost. It was only then, holding him so closely, that he picked up on the smell of alcohol -- and shot a look at both Adelinde and Elzer.
"Addie, Elzer... Could you fetch something to eat and drink for the both of us? Water, preferably."
May as well get himself something to eat, too. He has a feeling that he's going to be awake for a very, very long time.
"I'm here, Kaeya. I'm here."
#glacialswordsman#diluc: finally getting some fucking sleep#also diluc: well there goes that plan huh

Projects in progress and to come
You had been doing back-to-back adventurer's guild requests for several days in a row, each time coming home a little later than the day before. You were so tired, your week had been terrible and the stress was more present than ever. Everything you had accumulated during that week was eating away at your stomach, forming a painful knot inside. You wanted to go home to your lover. You wanted to be in his arms, to feel the warmth of his embrace. You wanted to hear his voice to soothe your soul. You wanted to cry, hoping that your tears would not disappoint him...
Diluc
The faint glow of dusk barely illuminated the vines surrounding the Domaine. Still, Diluc stood outside, examining each cluster, waiting for you to return. He missed you terribly. He was so worried about you, he hadn't heard from you in several days now. He knew that your missions were difficult and knowing you, they must have left you in a state of stress that was almost unbearable.
Diluc sighed silently, staring at the bunch of grapes in his hand. Tonight Diluc had made sure to get home early to spend as much time with you as possible. He had prepared a dinner for you, which had long since gone cold.
Worry was pressing on him.
He offered to help you, but you refused categorically, saying that he was already overworked between his inn, his business transactions and his nightly activities. You were not entirely wrong, he knew it, but he still regretted not having insisted more.
Suddenly, the sound of hurried footsteps followed by the slamming of the Domaine's front door alerted him. It was you, he was sure! Diluc quickly left the vineyard to join you, climbing the stairs two at a time. He looked for you in his office, in the library, before arriving at his bedroom door. Slowly, he turned the door handle, letting the sound of your sobs escape the room.
Diluc frowned with concern, hearing and seeing you crying was tearing at his heart. Without further thought, he entered the dark room, moving without hesitation to the bed where you were lying. Diluc had good vision, even in the dark, so he could see your body in the fetal position without any difficulty, clutching the pillow Diluc used to sleep on.
He inhaled sharply, his breath shaking slightly. He wanted so much to be your pillar, the one you would lean on in this kind of situation. So he lay down gently beside you, caressing your bare arm. You barely glanced at him, but he didn't take offense. You've often told him that you don't want to show your weaknesses or cry in front of him for fear of disappointing him. But that would never be the case. How could you disappoint him? He loved you so much, and just as you had accepted his qualities and flaws, he happily accepted yours.
"Come into my arms." - He had whispered affectionately to you.
You didn't immediately respond. He continued to caress your arm, hoping to encourage you with this gesture, and when another sob escaped you, you turned to bury yourself in Diluc's reassuring arms. Your legs entangled together, you could feel each other even closer.
Your face was buried in his chest and one of your hands dropped from his pillow to clutch his shirt. He was holding you so tightly to him, Diluc wished he could suck your pain away... The kisses he planted on the top of your head were so warm, you wanted to return all the affection he gave you, but not like this, not in this state.
His hands began to massage your tense shoulder blades before moving up to your neck. His hands were warm and soothing, you felt a part of you relax a little.
"It's going to be okay my love. I'm here..."
You slowly nodded, focusing all your attention on his voice. Diluc continued to whisper soft words to you until you felt your shoulders relax. His right hand came to rest under your chin, moving up your face to kiss it lovingly.
"Does your stomach hurt?" - You with nodded again. Diluc was a good observer, in fact, he had noticed that you were pressing his pillow against your stomach in the hope of easing some of the cramping that was shaking you. "Lie on your back, I'll give you a massage."
A little embarrassed, you still followed his instructions. Diluc kept his left arm wrapped around you as he began to lightly pull up your tank top and massage your stomach. His unoccupied hand stroked your hair. Throughout the process, he never stopped kissing your face or looking at you adoringly.
The pain in your stomach eventually faded away, your muscles relaxed. All the stress you had built up during the week seemed to be gone thanks to Diluc's care.
"Are you feeling better? Do you need a glass of water? I cooked something if you're hungry." - You shook your head, whispering to him that you only needed him near you. Your hand, already clutching his shirt, tightened its grip on him. You could hear his heartbeat, a heart that belonged to you. Diluc blushed with affection at your words and gestures. He adjusted his embrace on you to have you closer to him.
"I missed you Diluc..." - He smiled tenderly at you.
"I missed you too (y/n)... What do you say we take a little time for ourselves tomorrow? Just... you and me?" - You nodded with a tired smile. Relieved, Diluc continued his caresses and kisses until you fell asleep in his arms, and even so, he continued to whisper sweet nothings in your ear... He would not let you leave his arms tonight, and even tomorrow he would keep you close to him.
Zhongli
Zhongli knew that you had to return tonight from your missions. It was the first time you and he had been apart for so long, and although Zhongli kept a calm and serene facade, deep down his heart was longing for you. He would wait for you in your living room, sitting on the couch while reading one of the novels you had given him. Often, his gaze would turn to the clock that adorned the room. The clock was ticking and you were still not home...
The clatter of the door sounded in the house. Zhongli raised his smiling face to the hallway that connected the entrance to the living room. He carefully placed his book on the coffee table and prepared to join you... Until your blank stare froze him in his action. He slowly sat back down on the couch mattress without taking his eyes off you, holding out his hand to invite you to join him. You looked so tired, the pallor on your face worried him enormously. The trembling of your limbs did not escape him, Zhongli knew you well enough to know that your body was reacting to an intense accumulation of stress and exhaustion. He settled you on his legs, wrapping his arms around you and cradling you tenderly. His hand massaged your belly, relieving stomach cramps from your anxiety. He knew you were prone to pain when you were in this state.
He pulled you closer to him with his hand on your hip. You were safe in his arms now, your head resting heavily on his shoulder, close to his neck. Your hand clung to his strong chest as tears began to sting your eyes. You were so tired and restless, how could you not be after such a terrible week? Zhongli's lips were kissing your forehead, your nose. He whispered sweet nothings to you, reassured you. The spasms that shook your stomach began to calm down thanks to the tenderness of your lover.
"Tell me about your week, my love." - You had missed his deep, gravelly voice so much.
"Terrible. The adventurers' guild sent me all over Teyvat. There were so many problems, so many unexpected things... I thought I was never going to get home... I was so anxious to see you again Zhongli." - Your tears finally flowed. Your hands trembled as your nerves relaxed. Zhongli lifted your chin to gently kiss your lips, he was so gentle, so warm with you. He did not judge you. He didn't scold you. He was whispering softly in your ear, telling you that he missed you terribly too, and that he was happy to see you come home safely.
"Rest, my love. I will take care of you now." - Relieved by his words, you drifted off to sleep. Zhongli kept you in his arms for a few more minutes, basking in your presence. He would kiss your forehead before resting his cheek on it. Sometimes he would close his eyes just to smell you better. Seeing you in this state always made him feel very distressed and he was happy that his presence was enough to calm you down.
He eventually gently lifted your sleeping form in his arms to bring you back to your bed. Lying across from you, his fingers caressed your face, occasionally removing a few strands of hair.
"I love you (y/n)."
He kissed your forehead one last time before holding you close, resting his chin above your head. He would keep you like this until daybreak and more if necessary...
Kaeya
Kaeya was waiting for you at the entrance to the city, watching for any distant movement he could perceive. His patience was wearing thin, and if he didn't see you arrive in the next few minutes, he vowed to join you on the path that would take you back to Mondstadt. Your absence had been a real torment to him. He could not do without your presence, your love. He had only one thing to look forward to: finding you in his daily life.
His anticipation was rewarded by the sight of your silhouette approaching in the distance. Kaeya knew immediately that something was wrong. Your head was down and you were holding your stomach with your hand. Were you hurt?
Alerted, he ran towards you at full speed. He stopped abruptly in front of you, out of breath and worried.
"Are you hurt? Show me..." - Your hands were shaking and the area around your eyes was blackened with dark circles. Removing your hand, he saw no injury, which partially reassured him.
"Kaeya I... I'm not hurt, it's just... my stomach hurts... and I..." - your tears were starting to fall - "Sorry, I'm sorry... don't look at me please." - your nerves were giving out on you, intensifying the painful knot in your stomach.
Kaeya was looking at you with deep concern, he had never seen you in this state. You had told him before that stress could make you sick, but he had never imagined how much... Your hands hid your face as you crouched down in front of him. Kaeya reached down to your level, gently removing your hands from your face.
"Come (y/n), let's go sit down..." - He gently pulled you by the wrist to take you under the shade of a tree, sitting against the trunk first before settling you between his legs, your back against his chest. He wrapped his arms around you, his head resting on your shoulder. - "Calm down princess, you're home now..."
His hands gently rubbed your arms as his lips kissed your neck. He wiped your tears with his thumb. His hands never stopped caressing you until you stopped crying. Once you calmed down, Kaeya gently took your chin so that you could look into his eyes. A tender smile lit up his face.
"Let's go home. I'll run you a bath. What do you say?" - You smiled at the offer, rubbing your tear-swollen eyes.
"Only if you come inside with me..." - Your smile warmed his heart.
"Your wish is my command, ma'am." - You let out a soft laugh.
He helped you to your feet. He intertwined his fingers with yours, his thumb lovingly stroking you. He never let go of your hand, keeping it warmly in his until he reached the threshold of your apartment.
As promised, he ran you a hot bath. Kaeya helped you remove your dirty clothes before taking off his. Once both of you were naked, he entered the hot water first and as soon as he was comfortable, he held out his hand to invite you to join him. He placed you between his legs, massaging your shoulders and kissing your skin. He wanted to cherish you, to help you relax, which he did wonderfully. You fell asleep against him, your head resting against his chest. Kaeya looked at you adoringly, continuing his caresses on your water-warmed skin. He couldn't help but admire you, he thought you were so brave despite your tears. He was so proud to have you by his side that he couldn't help but whisper tender words in your ear.
"I love you, sunshine. Sweet dreams."
Xiao
Xiao was sitting on the roof of the Wangshu Inn, patiently waiting for you to come. A week without seeing you had been such a torture for him, although he would never admit it to you. How could he have become so attached to such a stubborn mortal? He had offered to accompany you on your missions, but you had refused, reminding him that his obligations to Liyue did not allow him to be away for a whole week. Xiao knew that you were right and that was what made him even angrier.
You were late, which had a way of annoying the Yaksha even more, though the annoyance was more due to his concern than your lateness itself.
"Xiao..."
Xiao gasped, listening more carefully to where the call for help was coming from.
"Xiao..."
He recognized your voice. Xiao disappeared, leaving behind a violent gust of wind.
He had appeared in front of you. His eyes were filled with concern when he saw you sitting against a rock, painfully holding your stomach. He quickly approached you, looking for any small injury. Your tired gaze met his amber eyes. He could see the tremors that shook your body. You slowly raised your hand to his face, gently caressing his cheek.
"Xiao, I'm... sorry. Can you... can you take me home please?"
Without saying a word, he grabbed your wrist to place a quick kiss on it before lifting you into his arms. He used his vision again to bring you both back to the room at the inn. He helped you sit in a chair before quickly fetching you a glass of water. He stayed by your side, caressing the exhausted features of your face.
"Are you in pain somewhere?" - You simply nodded, pressing your hand to your stomach. - "Are you sick? I'll go get you a healer..." - Xiao was already heading for the door when you stopped him by grabbing his hand.
"I'm not sick, I'm... just having trouble dealing with my stress. I'm sorry to bother you Xiao, please stay close to me... I missed you." - You started to sob. Your tears were Xiao's weakness and he couldn't resist hugging you anymore.
"I... missed you too (y/n)."
He had crouched down in front of you, intertwining his fingers with yours. He pressed his forehead against you, closing his eyes at the sensation. His thumbs tenderly caressed the backs of your hands, waiting patiently for your sobs to subside. He wanted to see your smile, he wanted to know you were happy and rested. The pain in your belly was fading until it disappeared completely. Xiao's presence and kindness had been a real remedy for you.
"Thank you Xiao."
"Why are you thanking me? I didn't do anything special." - You smiled tenderly at him. He didn't realize that his presence alone was enough to take the weight off your shoulders.
"Thank you." - Xiao blushed slightly, averting his gaze from yours.
"I really don't understand mortals..." - You wrapped your arms around his neck, kissing his lips to silence him. Xiao lifted you up in his arms to lay you down in the bed, continuing to tenderly kiss your lips and face. He didn't stop, even when you fell asleep in his arms. He wanted your sleep to be peaceful... making sure that no nightmares disturbed you.
Venti
Venti was pacing the streets of Mondstadt. He was waiting for you impatiently, watching the entrance to the city every minute. He couldn't stand your absence, he needed to hear your voice, to feel your embrace. You were his love, his muse, and the current source of all his anguish! By the seven, why were you so late?! Venti couldn't take it anymore, he went to the gates of the city to look for you, but he was quickly stopped in his momentum. He collided violently with your exhausted body, making you fall heavily to the ground.
"Haa! (y/n) Sorry! I didn't... see you..." - Venti had knelt down beside you. He immediately noticed from your pale complexion and dull eyes that something was wrong. His fingers found your hair, tucking a few strands behind your ear. Without asking, he helped you up and dragged you through the streets of the city. He stopped for a few moments in front of a bakery, buying some pastries before heading back to the lake surrounding Mondstadt.
"Wait Venti... please..." - He turned his gaze to you for a few moments, slowing his pace slightly. When he saw your eyes glistening with tears, he instantly stopped walking. He drew you into his arms, his hands caressing your back reassuringly. - "I'm tired, my stomach hurts, I can't take it anymore and... I missed you..." - He smiled into your neck.
"I missed you too my beautiful flower." - Venti straightened up to face you. He stroked your cheek with his thumb before kissing your trembling lips. - "Come on, just a little more effort and you can rest!"
You nodded, wiping your eyes with the back of your hand. You grabbed the one Venti was holding out to you to continue on your way leading you to the lake. He led you near an apple tree, where the shade would protect you both from the sun. Once comfortably seated on the grass, Venti invited you with a gentle smile to rest your head on his thighs. You were already feeling better, the warmth of the archon was energizing you and his fingers stroking your hair was soothing the lump that had once formed in your belly. Venti knew that when he stroked your hair, you relaxed instantly.
Your eyes closed on their own as your ears enjoyed the archon's song. You felt so calm, so serene, as if this week had never happened, and in a final whisper, you told him:
"I love you Venti..." - His cheeks flushed. She had missed hearing those words so much.
Despite his happy face, Venti hated to see you in such pain. He would have done anything to get rid of all the burdens that were weighing you down. He had bought you your favorite pastries with the moras he had saved for his own use. He let you sleep quietly on him, continuing without interruption his caresses in your hair and singing some tunes that you had inspired him. When you woke up, he would offer you something to cheer you up. In the meantime, his loving gaze would not leave you for a single moment...
"I love you more (y/n)."
Albedo
Your absence had been harder to bear than he thought. Albedo had had the idea of going to Dragonspine Mountain during your absence to better cope with the separation, but even so, he couldn't stop his mind from wandering. How many times had he taken out his sketchbook to draw a sketch of you? He had stopped counting long ago.
When the day of your return arrived, Albedo had come down from the mountain very early in the morning to welcome you home. Since he had your spare keys, he was able to enter your apartment with the groceries in hand to prepare your favorite dish. Since he had not taken the time to return home, his belongings had been placed nonchalantly on the shoe cabinet at your entrance. Even though it was strange for him, he couldn't deny his need to see you again soon. He missed you, terribly...
He kept looking at the wall clock in your kitchen, constantly wondering what could be keeping you waiting. But he was instantly reassured when he heard the sound of your keys in the lock.
You dropped your belongings heavily to the floor, sighing with fatigue at the loss of the weight that encumbered you. Your head hurt and your stomach hurt. Once in the quiet of your home, you couldn't help but replay the week in your head. You were sick to your stomach just thinking about it, your nerves were on edge and you were still wondering how you didn't snap. You put your keys on the shoe cabinet, noticing Albedo's bag and sketchbook a little late. You couldn't help but open it to look at his sketches. As you looked through it, tears came to your eyes, there were only drawings of you. You then put the notebook down in its place to run and find your lover.
"Albedo! Albedo!" - Your voice trembled with emotion and fatigue. You wanted to see him, you needed to see him. A succulent smell coming from the kitchen indicated to you the position of Albedo, who was already rushing out of the kitchen to meet you. You jumped at his neck, taking him by surprise.
"(y/n), what's wrong? Did your assignments go badly?" - You shook your head. The concern in his voice touched you deeply.
Albedo hugged your waist, immediately noticing your tense muscles. He then lifted you in his arms back into the living room chair. You were sitting on his lap, your legs on either side of his hips. One of his hands was resting behind your neck to keep you against his neck while the other clung to your back, rubbing it up and down. He didn't really know what he should do to help you relax, so he continued his caresses, sometimes drawing random shapes on your skin and occasionally placing hesitant kisses on your temple. He had never seen you in such a state of anxiety, your body was shaking and your muscles were tense to the extreme. Albedo knew the human anatomy, he suspected that the state you were in must have caused you some muscle pain and maybe even a stomach ache.
"Do you have any pain? I can make you a potion to ease the pain." - You pulled your face away from his neck to look into his eyes.
"It's better now that you're here..." - A strong blush painted his cheeks. It was his turn to plunge his face in the hollow of your neck, his arms tightening their embrace around you. You stayed in his arms for a few more minutes, each filling the void left by the other's absence, until Albedo suggested you go and eat the dish he had prepared for you.
He would end up massaging your body muscles with oils he had concocted himself until you fell asleep...
Kazuha
Kazuha was on the Crux fleet when you left for your missions. Beidou had pledged to bring him back for your return, which added to the list of things Kazuha owed him. He had left before you did, extending your separation by another week. Your farewell had been hard on both of you, two weeks without seeing you, without talking to you had inflicted more sadness on him than he could have imagined. He had held you in his arms for fifteen minutes on the pontoon that was connected to the Crux, kissing your neck, your lips, your eyes. When he was called by the crew, his heart sank, and when he parted from you, his hand only let go at the very end.
He knew you were stressed from the week's work ahead, he could tell by your pallor and squirming. Your stomach was already in knots when he left, Kazuha was afraid you would end up getting sick.
He was waiting for you at the northern entrance of Liyue Port, sitting on a rock, a tree leaf pinched between his lips. He played an Inazuma tune to wait until he saw your figure in the distance.
You looked more tired than when he left, barely paying attention to what was in front of you. You hadn't even noticed him yet...
Rather than waiting for you, Kazuha came to meet you, raising your face to him when he was in front of you. You were even paler than the day he left you. Your face was tired and you were trembling, showing a strong nervousness. You were not well and he knew it, which made him even more upset.
At first surprised by his sudden presence, you quickly recovered from your emotions and silently wrapped yourself in his arms. Kazuha was not surprised, he needed your physical contact as much as you did. It was the best way for both of you to forget all your anxieties and problems.
He cuddled you gently at first, before tightening his embrace as you did with him.
"It's okay (y/n), you can relax now..." - His voice was soft and soothing. It had an immediate effect on your nerves.- "Breathe slowly, first through your nose and then through your mouth... there you go, listen to my breathing, follow the rhythm of my chest."- You listened to his instructions, following his rhythm. Very quickly, you felt calmer, more relaxed. - "Let's go home for..."
"Just a little longer please." - He smiles into your neck.
"Whatever you want sweetheart."
And as promised, he held you in his arms for as long as you needed. He only broke away from you when you placed a kiss on his neck. His cheeks were slightly rosy and he kissed you on the lips in return. He was so happy to see you again. So happy to be back home.
Childe
Childe didn't know which of you would be more stressed. He, who couldn't stand a week without you, imagining you facing all the dangers? Or you, who would spend a week doing one mission after another for the guild, far from home, far from him?
Childe sighed, he thought he was immature sometimes.
He was well aware of the look on your face when you left, which showed a growing nervousness in you. He would have loved to come with you, but the Tsaritsa had ordered him to stay in Liyue until further notice. Childe knew how difficult it was for you to deal with stress, he had seen you bend over in pain after a particularly complicated mission. You would easily get teary-eyed when the weight on your shoulders became too much and the harbinger was the only one who knew how to calm you down.
The week passed slowly without you, and when the long-awaited day of your return arrived, Childe was waiting for you at home, pacing around your living room. He had sent all his subordinates packing, telling them not to come and disturb him or face his wrath. He wanted to spend this day with you, and only you. He was nervous himself, he didn't know in what state he would get you back. To calm down, he had to go out into your garden, sword in each hand to start a training session. He was going through the motions, both fast and agile, he did not hear the sound of your footsteps approaching him.
"Childe..."
He stopped all his movements to turn hastily to the source of the noise. You were sitting on the stairs leading to your garden, your arms wrapped around your stomach. Childe dropped the weapons he was holding to rush to you. His hands went to either side of your cheeks, cupping your face as his eyes searched you up and down for any injury. Reassured to find none, he kissed your lips before coming to sit behind you. His hands went first to your shoulders. He could feel how tense they were, so he quickly massaged them before wrapping his protective arms around you.
"It's okay, honey, close your eyes..."
Your eyes closed under his instruction. You felt his hands move over your eyes as his lips brushed the skin of your ear.
"Relax, just imagine that you are sitting on a beach. The sea in front of you is a beautiful azure color. The cry of the seagulls blends perfectly with the sounds of the waves..."
You listened intently to Childe's voice, imagining everything he was telling you until you forgot your pain and anguish. He guided you perfectly, his voice was full of love for you, it hypnotized you, captivated you. When he felt the calmness take hold of you, his arms came back to embrace you.
"There you go my beautiful. Now tell me about your week..."
Razor was waiting for you at the edge of the forest, sitting quietly on the trunk of a tree. A few wolves were lying around him, comforting the young man in need of you with their presence. He was focused on the noises, the smells that penetrated the place, hoping with each new sound, each new flagrance that it was you who was coming back from your mission. His gaze went to the starry sky, the moon shining high in the sky. It was already late... You had told him you were coming back today and he was waiting for you, again and again, getting sadder and sadder with every minute you were gone.
Razor closed his eyes and sighed loudly. A part of him was uncomfortable and he was now able to put a word to what he was feeling: worry. Yes, he was worried about you and even more so when he finally smelled your scent, which was slightly different than usual. It didn't seem as sweet... he didn't smell blood, just... a smell that reminded him a bit of wolves when they were scared or anxious. Razor rose from his makeshift seat to join you.
You walked slowly along the forest path, gently massaging your aching belly. Your week had been particularly rough and stressful and now that you were back home, all your negative feelings seemed to be focused on your stomach, making you feel almost unbearably nauseous.
The sound of a broken twig made you jump violently. Turning your head sharply toward the source of the sound, you opened your eyes wide at the sight of Razor, perched on top of a small cliff along the path. When he saw you, his eyes were lit with sudden joy. He jumped from his perch to run to you. Without warning, he took you in his arms, hugging your exhausted body a little too tightly.
"(y/n) Finally home, Razor was worried!" - a sigh of relief escaped you as you were finally in Razor's arms.
"Sorry I'm late..."
You felt him sniff your skin, making you blush with embarrassment. He moved away from you to get a better look at you, stroking the top of your head as if to reassure you.
"Lupical needs to rest. Razor senses that Lupical is not feeling well. I'll take care of you." - You smiled tenderly.
"Thanks wolf." - This time it was the young man's turn to blush. He didn't know why, but he loved being called that by you. You drew him to you, caressing his lips with yours in a soft kiss before taking him in your arms. He wasn't used to the typical human affection yet, but he loved it. He stroked your back as you sometimes did with him when he was sad, he even dared to place a small kiss on your neck.
Razor was so adorable, how could you not relax when you were in his arms?
"Who gave me a bunch of good-for-nothing, unable to follow my instructions? Get up!"
Scaramouche stared hatefully at his kneeling underlings on the ground, exhausted after inhuman training imposed by the harbinger. He was angry and frustrated, and that much anyone could tell by his frozen expression and haughty eyes.
"Please sir, just give us a few moments to recover..."
Scaramouche's eye jumped. He was boiling inside, he wanted to hit something, someone. Maybe that fool who had just begged him to rest, thus challenging his authority?
He kept thinking about you. You were late for a whole day! How dare you keep him waiting!
"Shut up. I didn't tell you to rest. Go on. I want to see you spit blood if I have to."
Dismayed, his henchmen struggled to their feet before picking up their weapons again. One of them looked hopefully behind the young man.
"Sir..."
"What?!" - Gunner Fatui pointed at a few things behind Scaramouche, who turned around with a sigh of boredom before flinching at the sudden assault of your arms around his neck.
You hid your exhausted face in his neck, rubbing your nose against it. Scaramouche didn't know what to do, his arms were frozen at his sides and his eyes looked at you in horror, darting between you and his minions.
"What are you looking at? Go away!"
He didn't have to say it twice. The two of you were soon alone, allowing Scaramouche to relax his arms and wrap them around you.
"You are so embarrassing..." - The sound of your sobs reached his ears. He hated to see you cry. He sighed, adjusting his grip on you.- "Don't cry..."- He could feel your body shaking, at the end of his nerves. Scaramouche felt that anger rise in him again. What could have put you in such a state of stress? Unconsciously or not, his fingers got tangled in your hair, massaging your scalp while his other hand tended to your neck. Despite his harsh words, he was still loving and kind to you. You were special, unique to him, and seeing you in such pain upset him more than he could imagine. He didn't know what to say to you, in fact... he preferred to keep his mouth shut for fear of hurting you. He thought he couldn't soothe someone because of his... twisted nature?
When you stopped crying, you moved away from his chest, looking him straight in the eye. You stroked his cheek before placing a tender kiss on his lips, causing a faint blush to form on his cheekbones.
"I'm home..."
"Tch, you're late..." - you smiled softly, linking your lips with his again. His hands clutched at your clothes with passion. You were so... Awkward, yes so... adorably awkward.
Dainsleif was naturally calm and thoughtful. His presence alone was usually enough to calm you down when you felt anxiety creeping up your gullet. His deep voice hypnotized you and his eyes made you sink into a silent and serene ocean. You needed him, you needed his presence. So why did your legs refuse to move? Your meeting place was not far away, you were about to see him again!
Your stomach twisted with pain with every movement, fatigue weighed on your body, stress prevented you from thinking properly. You felt so bad... so bad... that your eyes closed on their own.
When you woke up, the light of a campfire partially blinded you, forcing you to hurriedly close your eyes with a low groan.
"It's all right (y/n). Open your eyes slowly." - That voice? Dain?
As he advised you, you cautiously opened your eyes, slowly letting them adjust to the light. Before you sat cross-legged Dainsleif. He was affectionately stroking your hair, his concerned gaze never leaving your face.
"There, that's good. Drink this." - He handed you a wooden cup filled with a purple substance. You didn't know what it was and the smell of it didn't make you want to know. - "I know, the smell is not pleasant, but this potion will calm your tummy talk." - You winced as you took the cup from his hand. Your eyes lingered on his before you swallowed the foul-smelling liquid in one gulp. The taste was like the smell, disgusting.- "That's good my love, you were brave."
"Dain... how... I think I passed out... and... how did I end up here?" - He gently stroked your forehead, wiping away the few droplets of sweat that beaded on your skin.
"I was worried that you wouldn't show up. I looked everywhere for you, until I found you lying along the path. I'm the one who brought you back here."
You slowly straightened up, staring at the ground with a blank stare.
"I'm sorry I worried you Dain... I can't control my anxiety, it's like it's eating me up inside. I feel... so weak... I'm probably not made for this."
You felt a hand grab your head, pulling you closer to Dainsleif's broad chest. His arms wrapped around you, he cuddled you with love and tenderness.
"You are not weak. You never were. You're just human and it's normal for humans to succumb to their emotions sometimes. (y/n)...you're so human, that's why I love you so much."
A sudden warmth had invaded your cheeks. Tears came to your eyes, Dain was such a gentle man, so tender. The wisdom of his words brought you back to reality. You were human and therefore not infallible. Dainsleif accepted you completely.
You settled better in his arms, lifting your head to claim a kiss on your lips, which he gladly gave you.
"I love you my love. Rest, I will be by your side when you wake up."

Happy birthday.
NOTE ! ITS TIRED BDAY BABYY GO SAY HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THEM!! Kaeya is kinda ooc tho my bad i never get how he acts. —not proof read—
KAEYA would have your whole day prepared, from your morning, the breakfast—even your work. He would make sure to keep you away from the tavern, he did not—after all— spent a whole hour convincing diluc to lend him the tavern for the day.
KAEYA asked benny adventure team to distract you, even asked you to babysit klee ! He knew you were pissed but he just smiled. You were going to forget it anyways.
KAEYA spent the entire morning arranging the party, he had everything ready just needed to fix them on. He knew how you liked private parties, so he made sure only to invite your closest—with venti barging in uninvited, it was expected— hell, he even had albedo over.
KAEYA had your gift in his drawer, he planned on getting it before you arrived, but alas a certain annoying flying fairy was not accepting that. She insisted on getting it for him, saying how he needed to keep check on that bard before he does something strange. She had a point—for once which is odd— but he still was hesitant. So he asked of the errand runner traveler to keep an eye on her.
When you came to the tavern, daek meet you, for a moment you thought it was closed and diluc would have forgotten to lock the door. But before you could turn around and leave, light came and all of your friends yelled a 'happy birthday!'. It was a classic, cliché even.
The most stereotype birthday party, but seeing him—KAEYA with his sweet smile and beautiful eyes filled with love, inviting you to his arms, you couldn't keep the tears. It was so beautiful.
After that, everything went on smoothly. Only when present time was close and neither traveler nor paimon was there did KAEYA panic. It was rare, but he really wanted to give you the present. He was close to just run home gran it and come back—he was fast, try and run after klee before she explode another house— but archons they came in time. Seems like the anemo archon blessed him for once.
He didn't let them speak before he ran to you, calming his beating heart and putting his usual smirk.—he was totally not nervous—
He pulls you aside, reciting the speech he had already prepared and practiced for two hours. Giving you the box and having his eyes on you, anticipating your reaction to see your beautiful smile, small blush, love filled eyes—why are you frowning?
KAEYA looked at the box. It was a rock. He turned toward the culprit, a glare asking what is this. They mouthed 'we lost it.' sometimes, he reconsider not having paimon for lunch.
KAEYA turns to you ready to apologise a million time, he had that cute flustered face on too. But he just saw you smile, you took the rock and held it dear. You teased him how it was unforgettable, because no one has done that. You saw that cute blush and awkward smile and you melted.
You chuckled at his cute side, it's rarely there— in public, you get all his sides in private cute and annoying— seeing it is very rewarding.
You joke about how id he let you bury your head in his tiddies you would forgive him.
He opened his arms wide. Eyes serious.
Take your time— he says.
You did not hesitate.

part two
THOSE WHO WOULD SHED A SINGLE TEAR
DILUC
After losing his father and his horrible fall out with Kaeya, Diluc has become a firm believer that a man can truly live as an island, to some extent. As much as possible, he kept to himself and worked alone. Having people share his burdens with him did not appeal to him. In fact, it miffed him, as it made him feel indebted to them.
He limited his interaction with everyone, especially those who are part of the Knights of Favonius, favoring solitude above else. But of course, this did not entail bad social ethics to others.
He treated his maids and employees with civility and respect, the same can be said with his patrons whenever he worked behind the counter (it would certainly be bad for his business if he behaved aloof to them) and those he was once close friends with. He always behaved appropriately to them, although he must admit he can be quite insulting to the Knight, he always stood behind an invisible barrier, careful not to cross it and grow attached to anyone.
He has long given up with amorous relationships. After all, what good would he be as a lover if he could not provide his woman the love and care she deserved? Surely, he cannot let a maiden suffer with his inadequacy as a potential husband. He is aware of how hectic his schedule is (he hardly has enough time for himself so spending time with his lover would be proven difficult) and how poorly he expresses his feelings, thoughts, and emotions. In a relationship, in marriage, communication is the key for it to be successful, and already then, he has failed. He may be a cold man at first glance, but he will not put a woman in s distressing dilemma, not intentionally anyway.
Being the richest man in Mondstadt and being considered attractive by many, Diluc was not foreign to having women throw themselves at him, attempting to seduce him. If maintaining a relationship with a woman with his current tribulations was hard, finding a woman who truly love and understand him was even harder. He has no means of deciphering who were pure with their intentions and those who sought him for his money and influence.
And he accepted his fate without easily, without question. This was the way it was supposed to be in the first place. Diluc Ragnvindr - a lone man, who lived in too big mansion, sleeping on a bed too big for him. It was all he knew. The bright days of his childhood long forgotten.
But then you came to his life so suddenly.
"Master Diluc," Began Jean, a polite smile over her lips. "This is ( Your Name )".
All it took was for you to give him shy smile to have his walls broken down, and for his heart to yearn for what he has resolutely denied himself of for years. And it twisted him, and not in a way he welcomed.
Diluc tried so damn hard to push you away. He avoided your presence, and made it his point to show you he wanted nothing to do with you, and made no attempt to cover it and ignored how his heart broke every time your smile fell. He resolutely refused to yield to your sincere advances.
He treated you the same way be treated everyone, to show you how you were no different from everyone. You were just another dot in his life waiting to be erased and thrown in the back of his mind.
But the harder he pushed, the harder you pulled. In his brightest days and in his darkest days, you have never strayed far and welcomed him with open arms. You always went out of your way for him.
It was hard not to fall in love with you? Why did you have to make things so difficult?
It wasn't too long until he was falling asleep in his bed with you in his embrace, his heart feeling light, warm and content. He hasn't feel like this in a long time - safe, and at home. Diluc found home from someone he tried to push away.
The horror of what could have happened if he had been successful weighed down on him, and it took quite an assurance from you to make him remember that he has failed, and you were his, as he was yours.
Back then, he thought your persistence was bothersome. But as he stood at the altar right now, watching you enter with your white wedding dress, he was grateful you never gave up on him.
Diluc cannot describe how beautiful you looked as you graced everyone in the place with your presence.
Your eyes locked with him, and his heart soared in his chest. And when you smiled at him, an excited gleam in your eyes - he cannot help but smile back.
Time cannot be any slower, and the aisle cannot be any longer. And have you always walked this slow? Or were you just teasing him?
Diluc's breath hitched - Perhaps you knew how much he wanted to get this over with so he can have you all to himself in the comfort of his room.
And when he saw you smiling mischievously at him, he knew that he was right.
His words failed to describe how beautiful you looked. His words failed the joy he was feeling. May Barbatos have mercy on him
But the tear that escaped the corner of his eye explained everything.
"Oh, what is this?" His best man whispered beside him, a teasing tone lacing his voice. "Master Diluc is crying. Why, I never thought I'd see the day."
Diluc shot him a glare. "Do not make me regret making you my best man, Kaeya."
Kaeya laughed. "Ah, ah, ah," He chimed. "Your wife won't be pleased if we fight at your wedding day."
A warm and pleasant feeling coursed through him. His wife.
"She's not my wife yet." Said Diluc.
Kaeya looked at you as you walked down the aisle. "And in just a few minutes, I'll have two Ragnvindr to annoy." He patted his brother on the back, smiling a genuine smile for the first time. "Congratulations, Diluc."
ZHONGLI
Zhongli, or Rex Lapis for that time, has watched over Teyvat for thousands of years and has witnessed firsthand how kings and tyrants rose and fell, how kingdoms were born, how camaraderie are conducted, how romance makes a man foolish and blinded, how society flourished in the hands of mortals as Archons guarded them from their resting place, and throughout the tales of humans, his eyes has laid upon many beauties.
But you? Oh, even the most esteemed bard of all realms could never bring the satisfactory glory to your name and pulchritude.
How dearly Zhongli missed the unspeakable power, money and authority he had back before he revoked his own position as a deity, keeping a close eye over Liyue and his people. But if ever presented with the opportunity to return to his rightful place as part of the Seven, he shall graciously decline, casting his gaze away and simply returning to your side.
After all, what benefit would he gain from it when he already has his heart is content in the possession of a mere mortal, a mortal he loved and adored. He would dream of ever choosing his old power over you, and that can be affirmed when he asked for your hand as the two of you took an evening stroll outside Liyue.
He has fallen for you and he cannot rise again. A gentle and kind woman with an understanding and patience which knows no bounds. If not for his revelation that he has accomplished all his duties and has come to decide to resign from his reign, your existence may be another reason for him to take the form or a mortal and ask for your hand.
He can still recall that faithful day when he first met you at the harbor. He stood by a high balcony, overlooking Liyue Harbor with arms crossed. The sun beat down against Liyue grounds and his skin, but it also casted an ethereal glow on you as you exited one of the ships that stopoed at the docks. And may he boldly say the sun was outshined that day, and his heart has been taken.
Zhongli can only imagine how many men has chased after you, but failed to woo you.
Zhongli understood the concept of love. After all, Liyue and every living being that sought shelter in its walls were close to his heart, but never in his life has he felt the way he felt for you. It was the sort of phenomena he observed between lovers for centuries - unconditional love and care, a sanctuary in the arms of their beloved, an individual to trust and come home to whether the day has been kind or unkind.
What he thought were trivial matters and the means of mortals for survival he has tasted its sweet flavor, and it was by your hand did he receive it. And he was thankful that you have found him worthy of being with you, and soon, being one with him in the contract of marriage.
And thus came the faithful day, the very day he longed to come ever since you have accepted him as your husband to be, and the day you have dreamt of every night you laid with him.
Zhongli counted the months, weeks, days, and if he had the ability to, minutes until the day of your wedding. He has a calendar in his room and everyday, he enthusiastically crossed out every passing day, watching as his wedding with you grow closer.
And when it finally arrived, Zhongli followed a meticulous routine to prepare himself, using expensive oils and perfume to which the Fatui money has provided splendidly. After all, he wanted to look the best he can for you. You deserved only the best of things, and he shall not hold back on anything to please you.
Though Zhongli, most of the time, was a calm man even under the eye of tribulations, when he stood at the altar in front of his close friends and colleagues, he can't help but feel anxious.
Of course he has no doubt in your love for him. He holds on your every word of love and affection as true, and his love for you was as hard as stone. Rather, it was he who doubted himself and his capabilities.
He wondered if he would be able to take care of you, love you the way you should be, bring a smile to your lips, and a laugh out of your mouth. If he had been Rex Lapis still, he would have easily uphold his duties as your husband. After all, what can an Archon not do?
It would be Childe, his best man, who would console him. He would tell Zhongli he is more than capable to care for you. He has a stable job (not to mention his connection with the Fatui), he was eager to please you and give you about everything if he can, he has a kind heart, he was a man who can manage his time wisely and never choose his profession over you, and above all, he loved you. Not many men can afford the luxury of being this perfect, but Zhongli was no man, not originally at least.
He will be unconvinced of what Childe has said. This unease in him was hard to diminish. Not being enough for you will tear him apart. The thought of it just gnawed at him. Will he make you happy? Will you regret marrying him when you realized life married to him wasn't as you expected?
It was only when the doors opened, and his wide and anticipative eyes darted over to the other end of the place did every little doubt in his mind is erased.
You stood by the entrance wearing the white dress you have fought hard not to show him until this day.
That bright smile on your face, those eyes that shimmered at the sight of him, the faint red on your cheeks - Zhongli did not even notice how love stricken he looked, and nor did he notice a tear cascade from corner of eye.
It was only when Childe stifled a laugh and pointed it out did he feel the dampness at the side of his face.
He forgot how to breathe when you finally stood before him. Even a veil cannot conceal your beauty.
With twinkling eyes, you smiled at him - like he was the only person in the room.
"Are you crying?" You ask playfully.
Zhongli will let out a chuckle, and as he take your hands in his, he said, "In such a beautiful day like this with the loveliest lady in Teyvat before me, how can I not?"
Indeed it was a beautiful day, made better when your lips met his.
He can't stop a few more tears from slipping.
THOSE WHO WOULD BAWL THEIR EYES OUT
CHILDE/TARTAGLIA
Childe understood his duties as a Harbinger even if his playful and flirtatious facade may say otherwise. He kissed hands of women and paid them golden compliments until their mind went hazy with his feigned affection, but he was still a Fatui at the end of the day - a ruthless and greedy scoundrel who had too much Mora in his hands.
And it was because of his line of work that he decided never to commit himself. If he was to find himself infatuated with a woman and she reciprocated his feelings and desired to pursue a relationship with him, it would inevitably drag her to the dangers entailed to his position.
The last thing he wanted was someone to dear to him to be harmed, not to mention his lover could become his weakness, she could be taken by his enemies and be used against him, thus, making things more complicated and harder for him to fulfill his duties to the Tsaritsa.
To him, nothing is more important than seeing through his mission with the finest quality of work he can give.
So damn you for coming into his life and distracting him. Damn you for bringing another bright to his life. Damn you for taking care of his family when he was gone. Just - damn you for making him fall for you.
He hated this - the feeling of being weak, of being vulnerable, of laying his guard down. One touch from you and he's no better than the people he despised for being so frail and powerless.
How ever do you possess this prowess to make him so dependent on you, to relish in your voice when you sing to him as the two of you laid together in his bed, how he let his defenses crumble when you whisper his name, the tug of his heart when you he sees you getting along so well with his family.
Childe wanted you. He wanted you more than anything and anyone in Teyvat. He was going crazy thinking about you.
He refused to acknowledge his feelings at first, thinking perhaps he can use you to comfort him and his family in these troubling times. That's all you were supposed to be, a tool for him to make his family feel better whenever he goes off to accomplish his work as a Harbinger.
But he couldn't stomach the thought of using you like that. He didn't want you to treat like a toy. And it did not help that one day, when he was returning from a mission, you come rushing to him and blurting out your feelings and your worry for his safety.
You loved him. Did he hear you right? You love a Fatui, and a Harbinger, no less. Surely, you aren't that stupid to fall for him.
And yet he smiled a sincere smile at your confession, and he too followed your steps. That night, he was at his weakest. Just relishing in your arms and ridding all the responsibilities over his shoulders. He can forget all his faults for a moment, with you. A peace of mind and heart was found in you.
Childe watched as you played with his fingers, and then he spoke. “Aren’t you afraid?”
You hummed. “Afraid? Of what?”
Childe shook his head and held your hand which toyed with his digits. You looked up at him, puzzled.
“Of me.” Said Childe, pulling your hand and holding it close to his chest. He closed his eyes, almost terrified of what your answer can be. “Of what I can bring to your life. I’m a Harbinger, [ Your Name ]. Your life is at stake just being with me. Do you know what you’re in for for loving me?”
You gazed at him, and he can’t see anything in your eyes. He let out a small gasp when you leaned in and kissed his cheek.
“I’m not afraid of you or anything this world can throw at me.” You confessed. “You’re going to protect me, Tartaglia. I know you will. I trust you. I love you.”
And fucking hell, did he protect you.
He tried to hide you from his fellow Harbingers, and especially to his enemies. Not because they will use you to get the upper hand against him, a leverage. No, he wanted to hide you, as long as he can anyway (because it won't be long until his secret is out, walls do have ears), to protect you. No one will lay a hand or even get a single strand of your hair. May the Archons have mercy on anyone who dares put you in the middle of the dangers of his job, because he surely won't.
Because of this, you and Childe decided to get married in secret, with no one else but Zhongli, the traveler, and their floating companion to be your witnesses in becoming one. The two of you knew well of the consequences your decision shall birth, but it's the one you're making. Nothing in this can stop Childe from making you his wife, and treating you as such.
Childe could not wait for the ceremony to begin. Even with such a small crowd - very small indeed - he did not hold back to make this day special for you. The finest of everything is what you deserved, and if he could give more, he would. But for now, all he can give you is himself, and he dearly wished he was enough.
The whole time, as he waited for you to emerge from the doors of the small cathedral the two of you chose to be wed in, he kept imagining how his life would be like with you.
Waking up beside you was the thing he looked forward to the most. When the sunrays peeked from closed curtains and cascaded down your slumbering form, a gentle and even breaths leaving your lips, a soft expression of rest - the thought of it filled his heart with warmth, a kind of warmth only you can evoke from him.
Waking up at your side on his bed always reminded him thst you were indeed there, and his. Soon, he'll be waking up beside you with a soft smile on his lips, a reminder that you were there, but now as his wife.
Childe never really considered him emotional. It was part of his discipline as a Harbinger never to let his emotions get the better of him. But when you stepped into the cathedral wearing the wedding dress you personally chose and had hidden from him for so long, a veil over your face but the soft smile still just as bright as the morning sun, it all came crashing down to him.
Childe wanted a lot of things in life. But what he wanted the most was to spend the rest of his life with you - providing for you, protecting you, comforting you, falling deeper in love with your every single day. All this he will do until his dying breath, and he knew you'd do the same.
His dream was walking towards him, never taking her eye off him as she approached the altar.
He can hear Paimon clapping and the Traveler reprimanding her for being a little too loud. He can hear Zhongli saying something to him but he couldn't understand a word he said. But he was too lost in his realization that you're going to marry him.
You chose him, a man with too many faults and imperfections.
Just as you arrived at the small steps leading towards the altar, the tears Childe has been trying to hold back streamed down his face, small hiccups escaping his lips.
You stared at him, worried. "Tartaglia, are you alright?"
Childe would try to formulate an answer but through his tears and hiccups, he couldn't make a single comprehensible word. His posture was regal and proper, as though he was trying to fool everyone that he wasn't crying.
How can you ask if he was alright? How can his heart handle how beautiful you looked right now?
"Excuse me, ( Your Name )," Zhongli interjected as he stepped beside Childe. "It seems that your soon to be husband needs a moment to collect himself. Please, excuse us."
Zhongli led Childe back to his room, and the Harbinger did not fight back. He was still crying even when the doors has closed behind him. Zhongli stood by the door, watching the Fatui sit on his bed, trying to stop himself from bawling.
Childe can feel guilt crawling up to him as he realized what he had done. What was supposed to the most perfect day, your most perfect day, was ruined because of him.
He was scared to think what you thought of him now. Were you resenting him for what happened? Did you still wish to marry him?
If only he had controlled his emotions much better. He shouldn't have let his joy break through him in tears.
"She was crying too, you know," Spoke Zhongli.
Childe raised his head to look at the former Archon. "Huh?"
"Your bride, she - " He smiled at him. " - she was crying too. She's happy to be marrying you."
Childe can feel his heart hammering against his chest in delight at what he said.
"So don't keep her waiting."
Childe bawled his eyes out once more when the words - "I do," - left your lips.
AETHER
When his sister was taken from him, Aether was a lost and wandering soul in Teyvat with the sole purpose of finding her.
Throughout his journey, he met different people from different regions. He learned their values and cultures, he grew to love the world he used to be a stranger to, he was able to utilize different sorts of Visions, and yet, despite all of this, Aether was lonely. Paimon - bless her pure soul - tried her best to keep his spirits and bring a smile to his face (he assumed she too felt the hollowness inside of him) but it was all futile as he often find himself seeking solitude and gazing out in an open field wondering where his twin could be and how she was fairing on her own.
He will let the cool breeze comfort him, but all it left was a searing kiss of reality that his search might have been all for naught. That very concept his mind was conjured haunted him in his every waking days. Is he still journeying through Teyvat and reaching out to all Archons with a solid purpose? Was he no wasting his time looking high and low for someone who could not be looking at the sky as he?
"And what if she is?"
Your words is what got his attention. Aether met you in the evening when the stars and the moon was absent from the skies. He sat on a fallen log overlooking the city of Mondstadt, alone and cold. Paimon has insisted in him accompanying him, but he had snuck away before she can chase after him. He needed to be alone with his thoughts, and with the scarce time he has for himself, he has to make the most of every night that comes.
Lumine was in his mind, and worry was gnashing its teeth at him. He was deep in his own world, sinking to the hands of his tragic thoughts, that he did not hear footsteps trekking the hillock he was at. Nor did he realize he was speaking his own worries in the air, eyes distant and staring blankly at nothing.
"What if she's not even looking for me?" That's what he remembered saying that time.
Then you made your presence known with an answer that refuted his initial thought. He whirled his head to the side, wide eyes with surprise. You stood next to him with a faint smile, hands behind your back and the moon slowly peeking from the shroud of clouds. A light in the darkness, the moon was. And so you were you to him.
"Sorry," You apologized, sheepishly giving him a smile as you rubbed the back of your neck. "I didn't mean to interrupt. You were speaking out loud and-and I just had a feeling I needed to say something." You took in a deep breath, and Aether found the pink dusting your cheeks adorable. "I . . . I'll just go now - "
Aether didn't regret asking you to stay.
Before you came to his life, Aether did not know how much he was dwelling in the own hell he made. His inner tribulations, his worries, his insecurities - he only took notice the torture he was putting on himself when you keep saving him from his own mind.
At first, all he thought of you was a precious friend - someone he leaned on and entrusted with everything, whether it be secrets or help with his quests. He told you about his past, his twin, how exactly he was different from the people of Teyvat, how he and sister fought an unknown god, how she slipped from his fingers when he reached out for her, how much he wanted her back. He was terrified of what you may think of him when he told you these things, but to his surprise, all you did was wrap him in your arms and comforted him.
Along with Paimon, you were his dearest friend.
But as time passed, the longer you accompany him and Paimon in his travels, he noticed something strange. The way his heart skipped a beat when you smile at him, how he can't keep his eyes off you when you laugh at one of his tales, how his heart hammered ceaselessly when you press a chaste kiss on his cheek, the relief that seeps in his system when he sees you unscathed from a battle, how irritated he becomes when someone makes an offense against you, the joy that seizes him when he listens to you talking about something you loved, and how much he adored it when you scold him for being a little too reckless in fighting.
Aether, despite being older than he seems, did not know what to make of what he was feeling. It was strange, a good kind of strange - the kind of feeling that makes him feel like he was floating in the sky. All he thought of it was an overwhelming adoration for a friend. Nothing more, nothing less.
It wasn't until Paimon pointed it out did he realize what he was feeling for you.
Upon learning his feelings for you, Aether couldn't sleep for many nights. He was plagued with the desires of his heart and his insecurities. It was like falling back to the same hellish pattern before you came along.
He was in this world for one reason only - to find his twin. And when he does - and he fucking will - he will depart from here with her and continue their travels. Leaving you was the last thing he wanted. He couldn't bear the thought of it. It felt like leaving a piece of him behind in Teyvat, a hole in the shape of your name.
The solution he had for this is directly confessing to you. Of course, the blond was a nervous wreck when he approached you and asked for a moment of your time. Paimon knew of his plan and wandered away for the time being, wanting to give the two of your privacy.
If you did not share the same feelings as he, he can already imagine the pain he will have to deal with, but it'll be much easier to leave. At least then he knows you won't be as hurt as he thought once he takes his leave. He never entertained the idea of you reciprocating his feelings. It would be foolish to - surely you can't find anything appealing with someone like him ; to which you rendered him speechless and a bumbling mess when you pressed your lips against his when he was in the middle of his confession.
Aether shouldn't be this happy with you. He loved you too much to see you hurt when he tells you that he must leave. He was not welcome in this world, he was an outsider, a being not under the authority or influence of any Archons.
But still, he spent months loving you, caring for you, doing anything to come back to you no matter what is thrown at him. He loved having you in his arms when you slept, he loved watching the stars with you at night, he loved you even with the inevitable arguments you two have - Aether was utterly and hopeless in love with you.
And thus, he decided to tell you what will happen after he finds his sister.
He knew he would be heart broken in seeing you cry, but it hurt more to see you smile at to him so genuinely and embraced him, saying, "You used to doubt you'll ever find your sister. It broke my heart everyday seeing you so hopeless, and I - " You composed yourself, shaking your head as your tried to gather your thoughts. " - now look at you," You cupped his cheek, the corners of your eyes wrinkling as your smile broadened. "I always knew the day will come when you have to leave me. When you told me you weren't from this world, I knew then I'll have to let go of you someday. But until that day comes - Aether - "
What a shock it came to him when you got down on one knee and presented to him a glittering ring - there was unconditional love and hope in your eyes. It was like looking back at his reflection. "Marry me, Aether, let me make you happy for the rest of the days we still have remaining until you leave."
Aether can never say no to you.
To his surprise, Master Diluc has already agreed to host your wedding at Dawn Winery. Aether was puzzled as to why he seemed unsurprised by the news of his engagement with you, and the Claymore wielding male answered, "( Your Name ) came to me for help when she planned to propose to you."
Aether knew Diluc, as much as possible, wanted to be alone. A lone wolf, he was. But with gratitude for what he has done, he asked him to be his best man. Diluc was startled by this requests but obliged. The red head might not show it but he was immensely flattered by Aether asking him to be his best now (and now time to subtly show it off to Kaeya).
At the day of the wedding, contrary to what he thought he would feel, Aether woke up with his an ache in his chest. He found himself looking out the window of his room, torn between his happiness and sorrow.
In a few hours, Aether will be able to adorn a ring on your finger, symbolizing your promises with one another. He shall be granted the sole blessing of calling your his wife. It was something he was looking forward to - seeing you in your wedding dress, watching as you walk down the aisle -
But Aether's mind kept drifting back to his sister - She would have wanted to be here. He thought.
Aether felt like he was committing a crime when he decided to take a walk just hours before his wedding. But he needed to clear his mind. Lumine never left his mind. He always thought that they would always be there for one another, or at least in big moments like this.
And yet she was still nowhere to be seen.
Is she still alive? Have I been wasting time? Is she still in danger? Is she lost in Teyvat as well?
"Didn't expect to run into you here."
His body tensed when he heard your voice, and he twirled around only to have his breath taken away.
You stood before him in the white dress he had longed to see ever since you proposed to him. He thought he would see a frown on your face, dismayed for his impromptu walk, but you wore a soft smile - a soft and understanding smile.
Aether did know what to say to you. He just stared at you, overwhelmed.
He opened his mouth to speak but he couldn't say anything. His shoulders slumped, and he sighed.
You approached him and kissed his cheek. He hummed in delight, eyes closing. "I hope you're not having second thoughts on marrying me." You told him.
Aether was quick to respond. He took your hand in his and kissed your knuckles. He looked into your eyes with affirming hues, "There is nothing I'm more sure of than marrying you."
You beamed at him. Seeing your face brighten up is always a beautiful sight for Aether, and it was enough for him to feel enlightened in the midst of his internal crisis.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
Of course you can already tell something is bothering him. Aether shook his head. He has already ruined a small part of what is supposed to be a perfect day, he can't risk another mistake.
"I'm not going to push you to tell me anything." You stated.
Aether smiled. "Thank you." He replied. He gazed at you for a little while, taking you in. "Why are you out here anyway? And in your wedding dress too."
Your eyes widened and you looked down to assess his evaluation. "Oh Archons," You mewled. "I forgot I was wearing this." You let out a groan. "Great, now my surprise is ruined. I won't be able to see you cry when you see me walk down the aisle."
He laughed a little. "But still happy as ever to see you." He said. "So why are you outside?"
"Just . . . " You began, and Aether can detect a hint of nervousness in your voice. " . . . picking some flowers."
"I thought we already ordered flowers." Aether thought, frowning. "Did someone forget to deliver the flowers? I can call someone if - "
"No, I just wanted to pick some flowers, randomly. Like how you wanted to take a walk, randomly."
He looked at you with hesitant eyes. He didn't believe you. There was something hidden behind your motive to be out here. But like how you didn't press him with what was the problem, he did the same for you.
"Okay," He breathed out. "What flowers did you pick then?"
Aether's breath hitched when you pulled out a bundle of Windwheel Asters and several more flowers that was all too familiar with him.
He stared at the white flowers that combined with your Windwheel Asters, the very flowers that he remembered adorned his sister's hair.
"Aether? Aether are you okay?"
He stared at you with glistening eyes, his heart blossoming with adoration and gratitude. Without even meaning to, you managed to make everything alright.
"Yeah," He smiled at you. "I'm okay."
Aether thought when he stood at the altar, he would have Diluc trying to soothe his nerves as his insecurities slowly sink in his mind. But it didn't happen. Diluc merely stood by him with a relaxed expression, glancing at him every now and then.
"You don't look nervous at all." Diluc remarked.
Aether chuckled. "This is the only decision I fully know I won't regret."
Aether felt like it was his first time seeing you in your wedding dress. His heart was filled with the brim with utmost joy, but what caught his attention was the bouquet of flowers in your hands.
You told him before that you will have roses as your bouquet, but to his surprise, he can see the Windwheel Asters and the white flowers that reminded him of his sister.
His emotions was all over the place. He had no idea how he could look so calm. Somehow he managed to hold himself together until you finally stood before him.
When you stared at him behind the veil, he couldn't take it anymore. You were too perfect. How could he be so blessed with you?
Tears sprung to his eyes when you reached out to take his hands in yours. He retracted one of them to rub his arm across his eyes, wiping away the wetness that streamed to his face.
Why am I crying like a child in my wedding? Stop it!
He couldn't.
He only cried harder when you leaned forward, removed his arm from his eyes, made him look into your vibrant hues, to give a small peck on his lips - "You're okay, Aether."
BENNETT
Bennett understood his bad luck more than anyone. He had lived with and through it his entire life he graced the surface of the earth. It was almost pitiful to see the boy smiling ever so brightly as misfortune after misfortune comes hurtling his way, but to him? It was an everyday and normal occurrence, nothing he hasn't seen or experienced before. His spirits has never let their roaring flame vanish, however, and if it had not been for his bad luck, everyone would have been drawn to his warm, welcoming, affable, and cheerful soul.
But just because he was used to the constant array of debacle thrown his way, doesn't mean there were never days where he won't be upset over everything it brought to his life, and others as well, and wonder how long it will take until his unluckiness will lead him back to the very situation he was rescued from when he was a mere baby.
He forgot how long it was when he had experienced something good, miraculously so. The only time he can recall being so was when he encountered the Honorary Knight, convened with them as a temporary adventure team, and found a treasure chest containing items he has only dreamed of in his sleep deep within a domain. However, that was many moons ago, and nothing has ever compared to it ever since. The moment he departed from the Honorary Knight, his bad luck came instantly to bite him.
It was far too long ago. Sometimes, Bennett wondered if that would be the only good thing that can happen to him in his lifetime, and thank the Archons he was wrong because the very worst day that came upon him is a day he will never exchange for another - the day he met you. When it was raining, thunder in the distance, lightning striking trees and soil, his bruised and bleeding form hardly covered under a small and flimsy tent, you graced him with your presence, and an umbrella which you used to cover both of you.
He had never stopped admiring you ever since. His eyes always followed you, wide and shining. He remembered the warmth in his chest and the redness tinting his cheeks when you brought him to your abode and treated his wounds with care gentler than the Deaconess. When he told you what happened to him, he anticipated to he shoved out of the house immediately and have your front door slammed on his face, but you did not. When he warned you about his curse, telling you how you will be affected when you spend a little too much time with him, the look of fright did not cross your visage and you even insisted that he not leave your house until you were sure he was capable of moving without pain, even if you had instantly been affected by his unluckiness (you pricked your finger quite badly when you were stitching a deep wound of his. He always felt guilty for that and has not stopped offering his apologies whenever it pricks the corner of his mind).
Other than the team of adventurers who had saved him from peril when he was a baby, it was difficult to find someone who will stay with him, through bad times and more of it. One cannot simply imagine and comprehend the confusion and happiness that seized him when he found out you were spending more and more time with him, not out pity but because you enjoy his company (which was weird, but he'll take it).
You possessed no Vision, but Bennett never saw you in an inferior light. In fact, it impressed him how you can hold yourself without the aid of any power. Enemies took a little longer to eradicate but ultimately, you were always successful. He held you in high regard, and very much like a certain blond traveler, the poor boy thought it was merely friendship and respect he felt towards you. After all, wouldn't a friend accompany him in his adventures no matter what disappointing or gratifying the outcome is? Wouldn't a friend prepare meals for him before he goes off on a solo expedition? Wouldn't a friend stay up late up waiting for him to return after? Wouldn't a friend welcome him by the entrance of Mondstadt upon his arrival? Wouldn't a friend give him butterflies in his stomach? Wouldn't a friend make his heart pound in a way
It had taken the Traveler and his floating companion for Bennett to learn about how exactly he was feeling for you.
He liked you, and not in the way he liked the traveler or Razor - he liked liked you.
When he realized about his feelings, Bennett nearly short circuit every time you go near him. His face flush a rich color of vermillion, his confident posture stripped down to a coy and uncertain stance, his eyes darted and never meeting yours for too long, a sheepish smile painted over his brims - Bennett had never felt this way before. It was foreign to him - liking someone - and it was worse for him because you were his one of his few friends (you, Razor, the Traveler and their floating friend), and having you withdraw from him if you ever learned his feelings frightened him more than any Ruin Guard could.
He didn't bother entertaining the idea of you returning his feelings. With his bad luck, it was bound to end in a rejection, and he didn't believe he had the heart to accept the hurt that would come.
Bennett tried to keep his feeling a secret, he really, genuinely, did. He locked his feelings for you in a box and stowed away somewhere behind his mind. But it didn't take you too long to catch on. Bennett's theatrics wasn't as impenetrable as he originally thought because there was no other reason for you to corner him in a street in Mondstadt after he tried to avoid crossing paths with you, and admit your feelings to him.
"( Your Name )," Stuttered Bennett, eyes darting to the side to avoid your eyes as he pressed his back against the wall behind him. You gazed at him, a tint of red over your cheek.
Archon, how are you so adorable?
"Uh, hi," He greeted meekly, as he rubbed the back of his head. "I-I was just about to leave for an adventure - "
"Bennett," You spoke, and he froze at the tone of your voice.
He looked at you properly, gulping. Shy eyes, shy smile, shy, shy, shy - and yet somehow, Bennett thought the worse - that you found out about his feelings and was about to turn him down.
He almost got down on his knees and press his hands together in a praying position, head bowed, and beg to keep your friendship. It didn't matter if you did not share his feelings. You were more important than his stupid feelings. He can deal with the hurt of rejection that will soon to come, but losing you completely? Can he even come to terms with that?
But before he can do such humiliating display, you leaned in and pressed a kiss on his cheek,
It was almost too good to be true, and with someone like him, Bennett had to take a moment to comprehend what has happened. His feelings were reciprocated, opposite of what should have been considering his dilemma. How can this be? He was sure your friendship would be put to an end when you learn about what he felt for you. How did you even know that he liked you? Has he been too obvious? Surely not (he was). Perhaps you were merely toying with him, discovering his feelings and choosing to use it as a way to alleviate your boredom -
Horror struck him when he processed the message behind his doubt. How could he think so little of you? Someone as sweet and kind as you would be repulsed by the intention of the actions he thought you were presenting to him. Prideful as this may sound, Bennett believed he knew you enough to know you were sincere in everything you do.
But even if both your feelings are revealed to be mutual, the two of you agreed to wait until a certain age before forming a romantic relationship. The two of you are young and there are a lot more the world can offer outside Mondstadt. There are countless of opportunities to grow and be mature, to be able to have a set of qualities to take of one another.
But that didn't mean the two of you easily managed to hold back showcasing your favor for the other. Bennett will always find himself exchanging secret glances and smile with you whenever a third party joins in on your adventure. He would stick by your side in situations he think could potentially lead you to a major injury. He will attempt (and fail, unfortunately) to whip you up with something delicious when he has free time. And you did the same to him.
With you, there was never a time where his heart wasn't beating against his chest. He can't stop himself from bounding recklessly through his adventures whenever you accompany him, although he will still keep a close eye on you just in case something bad happens to you (but it's always him who ends up injured).
But what he liked the most are the kisses the two of you share. Short, chaste, and shy - whether it be behind closed doors, when others are looking away, or when the two of you set of on an adventure.
Bennett would lay in his bed with a smile on his face, his thundering heart preventing him from sleeping. He'll often find himself burying his face against his pillow, grinning from ear to ear.
This smile was different. This wasn't smile that he usually wore, the kind of smile that persevered through hardship after another. No, it was the sort of smile that was too carefree and too full of utmost joy, no worries or doubts in his heart. Everyday he always woke up to the excitement of adventure, but now, the excitement of it and seeing you once again always had him brimming with the want for the night to be over with so he can chase after his dreams with you. Chasing his dreams with you, what a life.
His world is full of a bad luck, but he thanked the Archons for giving him someone he can depend on in the troubling waters he always he seem to drown in.
Bennett, embarrassing it may sound, often laid on his bed imagining about marrying you.
He can see himself making a fool out of himself when he gets down on one knee and propose to you. It'll be set in the most beautiful place he discovered in one of his adventure, somewhere quiet. Like maybe on top of a mountain overseeing a vast field.
Because of his bad luck, he'll try to prepare for every outcome. To be very sure everything will be saved, he made sure he created a plan B for his plan A, a plan C for his plan B, and so on, and so forth.
He can imagine himself fumbling over his words, blushing a bright red was made prominent because of his white hair, holding a bunch of hand picked flowers a little too tightly, sweat pouring from his face, his suit and hair a little ruffled -
If you say yes (spoiler alert, you will), he will most probably go haywire with shock and happiness, causing him to drop the ring down the mountain, and the two of you will spend quite some time looking for it. But in the end, you two will find it somewhere deep underground or deep underwater (to which you will ask help to retrieve) (Bennett offered to go down to get the ring but you can’t take any chances) and then you can start planning the wedding.
If Bennett had backup plans for his proposal, then expect there'll be much more backups with your wedding. He needed this day to be perfect for you, and his bad luck won't stop him from providing it for you. Even if he had to fight through horde after horde of Hilichurls (please stop him when he does, he definitely will do that for you), making you happy is his top priority.
Bennett will be extremely anxious the day before the wedding. He'll be pacing around his room, and has half a mind of running over to your place and spending the night there to reassure himself that you still want to marry him, and that you’re absolutely sure you want to spend the rest of your life with him. It will be Razor - who the Traveler spent hours teaching the basic information of the role of Best Man to - who will calm his nerves. He’ll stop Bennett from reaching your house and carry him back to his own, and giving him a lecture (he did his best) like the best man he was.
Was he having second thoughts on marrying you? No way! He will just be nervous about how the wedding will go. With his bad luck, something horrible is bound to happen.
At the day of the wedding, Bennett can imagine himself constantly seeking reassurance from his best man.
"What if I mess up?" Questions Bennett to Razor, anxious hands fiddling with his tie.
"Messing up is . . . normal." Razor will reassure him, but Bennett will shake his head.
“But it's me. When I mess up, it's always . . . catastrophic . . . ”
Bennett hoped that at least for his wedding way, everything will go smoothly. A perfect day, for you and for him. He won't embarrass you or himself. He won't forget the rings, he won't have his clothes tucked inside out, he will not spill any food or drinks on himself or on his guests, there will be no random Hilichurl attacks - none of that.
He really hoped for the Archons to spare him from his bad luck.
He will be able to stand by the altar with confidence and a smile, waiting for you to walk down the aisle.
As Bennett is consumed with his thoughts, his eyes drew to the small table at the side of his bed and caught sight of the picture of the two of you perched on the surface. It was a picture you took with a kamera after one of his adventures. The two of you smiling happily as he showcased the loot of vegetables and wheat he gathered in numerous luxurious chests. It was good day, that picture was. He found more resources than usual. Of course, he learned from the Traveler that most of the chest they found contained treasures but hey, vegetables are better than nothing, right?
Bennett stared at your smiling face and can feel the heat creep on his cheeks as he imagined you in a pretty, white wedding dress, smiling at him so shyly and cute - oh, Archons, help him. May them have mercy on him. Of course, you always looked pretty to him - so, so pretty - but in your wedding day? Archons, he doesn't know if he can take that. It'll be too much for his big heart.
He can only imagine how your wedding will play out, but there is one thing he was sure of and that is that he will burst into tears once he laid his eyes upon you - and not the soft cry most men do in their wedding, oh, not at all like that. His heart is too big with too much love for you, and too soft to control his emotions properly.
Bennett will cry (bawl, actually), his tears of joy coming in streams, and it was loud enough for strangers to think he was grieving over a deceased loved one. He was hiccupping and sobbing, will probably be holding on to his vest tightly as if his entire lifeline depended on the pressure of how he crumpled the fabric. He hoped that in that time, Razor or the Traveler will lend him a hand and calm him down before he can ruin his own wedding.
Bennett, as he happily imagined that fateful day to come in the future (spoilers again, it will) did not feel a tear slip from the corner of his eye as he drifted off to a pleasant slumber with a beaming smile.
The boy absolutely adores you.

thank u sm! :))
BESTIE THE PAIN I FEEL RN!!! Omw to make hurt some of my faves hope you enjoy <3
Also guys I’ve been here for a day how are there almost 50 of you following?!
Pairings; (Separate) Kaeya, Diluc, Childe, Venti x reader
Warning(s); hurt, big hurty, reader death, vague wound description, cursing, talk about dead bodies
Keep reading under the cut!
Kaeya
This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. You were meant to live forever with him. You were supposed to grow old with him and become a parent to your future children. You were-
“Kaeya” you choke out smiling at your partner above you. The man shakes his head mentally pleading with you to not die “Kaeya I will always be on the wind” you tell him, a shaky, bloody hand raised to his cheek to weekly caress it
“Please” he pleads “Please don’t die on me [name]” you smile at him feeling the breaths in your lungs disappear
“I’m sorry Kae--ya” you apologise before passing away in his arms
He doesn’t move for a long time. He doesn’t feel for a long time. The one person he could share his secrets and his love to gone. Away with the wind
Kaeya doesn’t remember the last time he cried, but he’ll remember this one.
Your beaten, bruised, broken, dead, and beautiful body slumped in his arms as his tears fall from his face as he feels an absence in his heart
How is he supposed to live on if this is the pain he feels right now?
Jean eventually stumbles upon Kaeya out in the wilds, still clutched to your now cold and even more lifeless body
Jean manages to get the man up with your body held close to his chest
“Jean, I can’t, I can’t let them go” he pleads as if he’s waiting for you to simply wake up in his arms
“Kaeya...” Jean says in a concerned tone having never seen him in such a state, even he seemed to quickly recover from his fathers death
Eventually Jean coaxed Kaeya to go back to the city and leave your body in the hands of the sisters. Where they dressed you up and prepared a funeral service for you
The funeral was larger than Kaeya was expecting, you had affected a many more people than he realised from your small jobs around the city. Kaeya can’t help but be awed at how many people you’ve helped while you were in Mond
The usual chatter of Mondstat is quiet and in a time of grieving for about a week or so, many people have wonderful memories of you and Kaeya seems to be collecting them all, that and bunches of flowers. Many of which find themselves laying on your tombstone as Kaeya tells you about his day
A month passes and it seems like everything's back to normal, Kaeya is back to his outgoing self. He spends more nights at the tavern, but even Diluc doesn’t have the heart to cut him off.
Jean seems to pick up on the smallest things, goddamnit Jean, the extra nights at the tavern, the eyebags, the weeping she can hear from his room. In it’s own right is heart-breaking, the acting Grandmaster cannot imagine what it’s like to be actually experiencing that kind of pain
-
Diluc
No, not like this
You had both decided that night to join each other in your little vigilante escapade. Which was fine you had both done this before, but tonight resulted in something very different
Here you are, head on Dilucs lap. This could be considered romantic, and often was, were it not for the fact you felt like you choked up a mixture of your lung and your bloody supply
“Diluc” you speak with a much worse for wear voice, the red-head looks into your eyes, eyes already gaining moisture. A similar scene has befallen him before, a Diluc knows how this ends
“Please” he pleads his voice wavering “Please don’t leave me” he chokes back a sob and tears fall off his face the salt hitting your own
“I love you so much” you start, Diluc shakes his head. Must you hurt him so with last words? “Don’t blame yourse-” another set of hacking befalls you as you lose more blood
“Please” he pleads again as the grip you had on his arm goes slack indicating your loss of life
Diluc screams, he cries and he hugs you close. He screams into the air of Mondstat until his voice hurts and he cries until all he’s doing is dry sobbing and he holds you close until you’re broken body is pried from his own broken mind
A wondering Jean heard his screams into the night sky and hereby answered them. She never expected to see Diluc, still in his vigilante getup, crying over your body
She calls for more guards who take your body from his and Jean helps Diluc get back to the estate. At one point during the walk Jean can feel DIluc shaking and hyperventilating. So they stand for a moment, Jean holds and comforts the wine-master before they move again
Jean has never seen such emotion from Diluc before, and she wholeheartedly hopes she’ll never have to see it again. Seeing Diluc so raw and rife with emotion is enough to make anyone cry. And Jean nearly did on more than one occasion.
Your funeral is small, much to Dilucs request and really only were attended by the estate and Jean. Diluc didn’t want to cry again in such a large audience
Though the maids often hear pained sobs coming from Dilucs room as he contemplates and often blames himself for what had transpired. Maids daren’t speak up about what they hear though, Diluc’s pain is more than understandable
Diluc throws himself into work opting to man the bar most days of the week and fighting for the city as often as he can. People around him are more than concerned
Diluc’s stoic nature seems to be intensified now, not wanting to let another person in and die in his arms. He’s seen enough death for his life and wishes not to lose more loved ones
Everything seems to have moved back to what life was before you arrived in your life, depressive, monotonous, boring, mundane for the most part and sad. So very sad
He wishes for a day where his heart isn’t strife with grief, but he doubts that day will not be coming anytime soon
-
Childe
You grin up at him, feeling close to naught pain coming from the gaping wound thanks to the excess of adrenaline that’s pumping through your body
“Childe” you say the smile still on your lips in an attempt at not making the situation as dark and horrific as it is. Childe speaks your name in return
“I love you” you tell him mustering the strength to cup the mans cheek, who immediately nuzzles into it. The situation almost doesn’t feel real to him. He’s going to be shaken awake by a very unwounded you in just a moment and inform him he’s having a nightmare
But that moment doesn’t come. Nor do any words come from you. Your slow rhythms of your heart remind you that he’s still got time, but you’ve expended all your energy. Your smile you’re wearing seems to be dropping
“I love you [name], I love you so much, you are everything I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you” he rambles bringing your body to his chest
“Live for--- me” you sputter out into his chest, a dying wish that Childe isn’t too sure he can uphold. Is it really living if he’s an empty vessel.
You go limp in his arms and he can no longer sense your heartbeat. Death had finally laid claim to you
Childe sits with you for hours, you’d expect him to be wailing like a banshee if you knew his personality but that’s rather not the case. Sobbing quietly is a better word for what happens. Most of his sobs and hacks for air are hidden in your hair. He pulled your body to his shoulder just to weep
Eventually he finds himself mustering the courage to walk back to Liyue Harbour. You firmly held in his arms. He knows that if he walks too plainly the Millelith would pry and ask too many questions for his fragile heart to answer
Childe ends up barging into the wangsheng funeral parlour, which surprises Zhongli a little. He’s about to go on a rant to Childe about how he must book an appointment, until he sees your lifeless body in his arms
The funeral is arranged quickly and neatly. There aren’t many people who attend, Childe is okay with that, he secretly wants to see his family and cry on their shoulder a bit
Instead he opts for a letter, which arrives to the family tear stained and lacking the usual penmanship ‘I’m sorry, you won’t be able to see [name] after all. They passed away not too long ago...’ he basically writes your arbitrary in the letter. And his whole heart is in every word he writes
Determined not to let anybody in Childe finds himself in a pattern, when he’s not throwing himself into battles he’s doing paper work or yelling at his subordinates and when he’s not doing that he’s doing his weekly fight with the traveller. Childe gets next to no sleep and instead opts to reading and rereading every letter and note you’ve ever given him
If Childe passes out at his desk nobody bothers him either in fear of getting yelled at by the harbinger or an understanding of losing a loved one
They never said being a harbinger was fulfilling work. Yet, he let himself believe that he could be fulfilled and content with a lover. What a shameful lie
-
Venti
He’s awfully quiet. He hasn’t experienced death in so long. Especially one he thought would be forever.
He couldn’t even get to you to hear your last words. Ironic isn’t it? He hadn’t heard that guys last words either. And yet this pains him so much more
Sure mortal lives are fleeting but he was certain he had more time with you. More time to see you grow old, more time to put off your inevitable mortality. More time to-
He’s hyperventilating, Venti’s body shakes as he finds nothing to ground himself not even the person he loves so dear is there for him. He feels like he could explode, breaths caught in his throat refusing to surface and come up for air. Despite being an immortal archon, the breaths that refuse to surface don’t fail to make him feel like he’s choking
A bard he is. And one that knows every song from the past, present and future. Suddenly the pained songs from the future make sense to him. He knew what was written. A love lost
Suddenly he finds himself crying and hunched over your deceased form making promises to the wind that he’ll never forget you. Much like he’ll ever forget that bard
He isn’t sure how long has passed but he’s still sobbing over your form, there aren’t many tears left for him to cry but he can’t find himself stopping. He feels like they’ll never stop.
Maybe he could lay beside you and sleep for another thousand years. But that would only delay the inevitable. The inevitable sinking feeling.
Maybe it was his fault for letting himself fall in love with a mortal, but in the moment he could truly see you living life with him. He could see a marriage, children. He wanted you to have it all.
Damn celestia and all things above for not letting you ascend, at least when he inevitably ascends you’ll be there to greet him. Curse that and your mortality
Jean eventually stumbles upon him during a recon mission to find him covering your body in various flowers, a crown made of cecelias don your head. He’s quiet, but he’s saying goodbye. Who would blame him? Jean doesn’t interrupt him and only wishes you a farewell
News of your death spread around town like wildfire, your grave donned with more flowers than Venti can count. He almost feels bad about not doing a public service after seeing how many people are truly in mourning
Diluc doesn’t push Venti to pay his growing tab no matter how much he should. And Diluc doesn’t say no to Venti singing his happy tunes in the tavern
It feels like his life has retuned to normal. Though Jean can’t help but look out the library window to see Venti sat atop his statue with an expression, as Jean can only guess, of sadness.
Venti finds himself going back to an old schedule again but he can’t miss the nagging feeling of somethings missing. The something being you
Sometimes he half expects you to hug him from behind, or join him up at the statue, or kiss him on his nose, or-
Venti can’t quite comprehend how he feels, he just knows there’s a hole in his heart where you belonged. And he doesn’t want to let anyone find their way into there
He doesn’t want to lose again
It’s happened too much

Wordcount: 4156
CW: Yandere themes, mentions of violence, death and NSFW
An angel.
That’s what Kaeya thinks when he sees you - he’s far from being a religious person, yet this word appears in his mind, vivid and burning, pushing out any other thought away. He stands here, starstruck and unsure what to do, devouring your visage with his eye alone.
Your first meeting is incidental - he walks around the Mondstadt, looking for the leads for the recent mass disappearance case. An alarming number of people went missing right before the Windrise festival. All are destitute alcoholics with no real importance, all except one - Javier Lawrence, who in this case is a rich alcoholic, and a reason why investigation even started. Mondstadt may be a nation of freedom, yet money and status still dominate most of its social dynamics.
Kaeya goes to Eula first - Javier was her twice removed cousin after all, she ought to know something. The spindrift knight is restrained in her speech, careful not to insult her missing relative, despite the deepening frown. She says almost nothing new, stating that Javier had a passion for drinking and wasting his days away, she also mentions his favourite places to wander while drunk - gardens, plaza and the forest outside the city.
Visits to the first two bear no fruits - Kaeya doesn’t find any eyewitnesses, but hears tons upon the tons of complaints and insults directed at the missing, so he heads for the forest, expecting to find the mangled body among the heaps of green leaves - being drunk in the forest deep is never a good idea, yet he finds none. He stumbles upon you instead.
You sit among the wild flowers and bitter herbs, head bowed, closely inspecting the plants in your hands and humming a light tune as you do so. There’s a certain serenity about you, some kind of magical elegance radiating off of every movement, it’s deliberate, yet relaxed. You remind him of the forest nymph from the paintings he saw - celestial and seductive, and totally unaware of the effect you have on him.
This feeling is further exacerbated by the simple white shirt you're wearing - the material is thin and half-transparent, already revealing the outline of your torso. Kaeya gulps when he imagines it getting wet and clinging to your body, your skin and nipples showing through the flimsy fabric. The only thing that spoils this otherwise perfect sight are small dark bruises both hands, blooming like two ominous roses.
“Hello”, he finally suppresses lustful urges and steps closer, distracting you from the herb picking. “My name’s Kaeya Alberich, I am the cavalry captain of the Knight of Favonius, and I want you to answer a couple of my questions”.
You turn unnaturally still upon hearing his voice, hands squeezing the plants, even your breathing is impossible to hear. You are terrified. Kaeya turns his head to the side at this picture, eyebrows raised - this is… a very interesting reaction.
“I am sorry, I am not allowed to talk to strangers”, you say, finally collecting yourself and raising your head to meet his eye, and Kaeya finds himself struck again.
Stars.
You have star-shaped pupils. Just like him.
He makes a step again, back this time, as his chest starts to rise and fall faster, breathing accelerating. Why do you have these eyes? He thought he was the only one left…
“Sir Kaeya, what brings you here?”he hears a familiar voice. Albedo comes from the forest deep, quickly striding to him and then stopping between you and the cavalry captain. Alchemist's face remains indifferent and his tone impassive, yet through the haze of confusion and shock Kaeya still notes how he protectively put himself between you two, as if shielding you from his gaze.
“Investigation. I thought asking… this lovely person a couple of questions might help solve the case”, he flashes one of his most charming smiles to Albedo, who predictably remains apathetic towards such displays. You, on the other hand, still sit on the forest ground and have your eyes shifting between Kaeya and Albedo, with fear and hope respectively.
“I am afraid you won’t find any answers here. They are under my care, and they don’t know anything about whatever your case is”. Albedo’s voice still remains polite, but Kaeya can taste the hidden hostility, he almost backs off from surprise.
“Well, that’s unfortunate”, he admits defeat and puts on a smile again - it’s a colder one this time, less genuine - and turns on his heels, throwing “have a nice day” as the afterthought, insides burning with the strange mix of disappointment and resentment.
He almost leaves the forest, as he hears Albedo talking to you: “It’s alright, [First], I won't punish you for speaking to him, he asked you first”. You reply something, but Kaeya is too far to make out any of your lovely voice, yet the things he witnessed today are enough to spawn a horde of questions.
Why does Albedo act so possessive? Why do you allow him to do so? What connects you two together? And most importantly: Who are you?
Thousand different theories fleet through his mind, as he mulls over new information. He doesn’t come back to that place, despite his curiosity nagging him to do so, he can’t - Kaeya is now acutely aware of the power Albedo seems to hold over you and returning might anger the alchemist.
Cavalry captain returns to the case of missing people, yet his mind continues to wander off, thought returning to your face and voice and body and the colossal mystery cloaking you.
***
Investigation progresses unbelievably slowly - if he was a gullible person, Kaeya would’ve thought that all of the missing just vanished into thin air - no leads, no traces, not a single clue of what might have happened, leaving the knights with nothing but straws to grasp at. To add to the severity of the situation after a week of receiving the case from Jean, Kaeya is notified about the new disappearance of two other people - Joachim and Luckas. They’re also a pair of alcoholics, the first one was last seen around the Angel’s Share, the second one was heading for the Dragonspine.
Kaeya goes to the said tavern - at first he just talks with the patrons, effortlessly fishing out the information about the missing person, which brings nothing new (again), then he gets a bit bored with drunk-interrogating others and decides to ask Diluc what he might’ve seen. And that also reveals nothing new (again) - Joachim has visited the tavern, ordered some wine and after a couple of bottles downed, left. Nothing extraordinary or groundbreaking, just a day of another Mondstadtian drunkard.
It seems that he isn’t destined to find whatever spirited Joachim away, so Kaeya leaves the city heading for the snowy mountain in the distance. He asks around the adventurers camp near the ruined tower, only to hear that Luckas was seen around the mountain.
Kaeya walks to the Dragonspine, already feeling the chill at the foot of the mountain, and his determination slowly melts - Dragonspine is one big freezing hellhole, full of monsters and Fatuis who for some reason decided to reside here, yet one particular face appears in his mind. Seeing you again might be worth the whole trouble - he noticed you a couple of times, always in the company of the certain alchemist, so if Albedo is in his camp, then you’re most likely there too.
Now inspired Kaeya quickly traverses the mountain, skillfully avoiding the hilichurl tribes and skirmishes altogether. After a short, yet frankly gruelling travel he finds himself finally arriving at the camp, your figure seen from the entrance. You sit near the alchemical device, tightly bundled up in layers upon layers of warm clothes, a book in your hands with no Albedo in sight. The alchemical apparatus is on, dyeing the whole room into scarlet shades, something red boiling inside of it, filling the air with the strange metallic scent. “Recent history of Teyvat”, Kaeya reads the cover and takes a step in. You remain still, too engrossed in reading to hear his footsteps, which he uses to take another good look at you.
Your face still looks lovely as it was on that day, yet there’s now a strong aura of frailness present - a greyish undertone of the skin, dry, chapped lips, pinkish-red rims blooming on your eyes, duller hair, even the fingers holding the books appear to be thinner. You look emaciated and exhausted, you must be sick.
“Hello”, Kaeya decides to pop the bubble of tranquility again - you quickly lift your head to look at him and almost drop the book: “We met before, in the forest, remember? I am here because of an investigation”.
“I am sorry, but I don’t think I can be of any help and I am still not allowed to talk to strangers”, you say and return to reading, pretending that he isn’t here.
“Well, that means we can introduce ourselves, so we won’t be strangers anymore and you will be able to talk to me without breaking any rules, right? Hello! I am Kaeya Alberich and I work as cavalry captain in the Knights of Favonius, pleased to meet you!”, he puts on his warmest smile and outstretches his hand to shake yours.
“I am not sure that this is a good idea, Albedo warned me to avoid outsiders”, you say, looking uneasy, as you throw a quick glance, past Kaeya, to the entrance of the camp.
“Albedo and I are coworkers, we both even had to work on some missions together, sure he doesn’t think of me as some outsider”.
“If you say so”, you sigh and cave in, your palm finally touching his. Kaeya feels the corners of his lips creeping up at the sensation, his heart skipping a beat or two: “I am [First} and I am… Albedo’s ward, pleased to meet you too”
“Now with introductions done, can I ask you a question?”, he takes another step and you nod - a step more and he might feel the warmth radiating off of your body, or hear your faint breathing, or smell your scent.
“Where are you from?”, your eyes widen at that. Kaeya finds himself almost hypnotized by this sight: the stars in your eyes shine with a renewed strength, the pale sunlight bringing out their warmth and radiance.
“I don’t really remember”, you admit, voice quiet and small: “Albedo says he found…”
“I discovered [First] in the heart of the mountain”, alchemist ends it for you, standing at the entrance of his camp with both of his assistants by the side, hands occupied by the local flora.
“Timaeus, sort and prepare ingredients”, he hands the herbs to the man: “Sucrose, you check up on [First] and give them.. the medicine, don’t worry I’ll just talk to sir Kaeya there”, Timaeus and Sucrose rush to the assigned task, with the latter taking out a red vial from the alchemical drawer, the liquid inside shimmering and glowing with an unnatural glitter. The last part is said to you, as alchemist gestures for the cavalry captain to go outside, quickly leaving the room.
Kaeya follows him as they both leave the camp - Albedo walks unusually quickly, not looking around even once to check if he’s still behind, and only when the both of them leave the camp far enough - so far that you, Timaeus and Sucrose turn into a small dots does he stop.
“What do you need? Why did you interrogate [First]?”, Albedo says, skipping all of the courtesies. His voice remains neutral, but Kaeya can feel the displeasure - it radiates off of his pose and faster speech, how Kreideprinz’s disinterested eyes suddenly turned cold and piercing.
“Easy, easy”, Kaeya half-laughs, raising his hands in mock defence: “interrogate is a strong word here, we two just had a friendly chat”.
Teal eyes narrow at this whimsical answer and alchemist’s face sours: “Leave [First] alone”, he voices, darkly and angrily - Kaeya almost backs off from surprise - it’s quite unusual to see Albedo express his disdain so freely and openly, yet he replies in the same carefree tone:
“I won’t, not until you say where they’re from at least. [First] has star-shaped pupils, we both know what it means”.
“I already have said that - I found [First] deep underneath the mountain, completely frozen. Cold must have trapped them in the ice and preserved their body for all these years, yet it also damaged their memory. They seem to be unaware of what happened to your homeland five hundred years ago, nor do they have any idea of the present world". Kaeya intently observes Albedo as he says that - alchemist is certainly hiding something.
"That's how.. Well, I wish [First] good luck in retrieving their memories", he decides not to press further - Albedo is already in a bad mood and won't tolerate him fishing for more information, nor will the alchemist agree to share what he hides. Kaeya asks him a couple of questions pertaining to the missing person and he gets the expected answer - Luckas wasn't seen by Albedo or any of his assistants either. Alchemist says it a bit quicker than he usually talks, Kaeya chalks it up to annoyance.
***
The first useful lead appears after the third disappearance this month - Masha Haedle, who was characterized as hardworking and passionate, yet troubled by her alcohol addiction, vanished on the way to her job. Her employer sent one letter after another, demanding her to visit her workplace, lest she will be fired. Haedle didn’t answer any of the messages, nor was she spotted anywhere in the next few days.
It was her concerned neighbours who notified the knights, who quickly connected her disappearance to the series of other missing cases and Kaeya was dispatched again - he decided to start by investigating her house and he was right in doing so.
Her place is barren, but tidy, Haedle's diligence and financial issues shining through the simple interior. Kaeya strides among the neatly cleaned house until he enters a small bedroom.
Unlike the rest of the place, the bed here is undone, sheets lay messily across the nightstand and floor, with a couple of plant pots knocked over, dry soil sprawled everywhere. He comes closer to this picture, taking in the small details - there's a trace of fingernails on the wood, as if the victim was latching onto the furniture as she was dragged back, a part of the sheets is actually burnt, with a small candle crushed on the floor - it could be knocked down when kidnapper attacked Masha, and the most glaring piece - an orange dimly glowing crystal.
It crumbles and disintegrates the same second Kaeya picks it up, but this short moment is enough to feel the warmth radiating off of it - it's a geo crystal, formed by the reaction with pyro.
Whoever attacked miss Haedle was using a geo vision to put out the fire, and might also be the reason of other disappearances. After all, a vision user kidnapping the drunkards is just as nonsensical as said drunks just vanishing into thin air, leaving nothing behind.
***
Mondstadt embraces the Windrise festival with the same warmth it always did, as citizens of all sorts start to prepare for the coming festivities. Some decorate their houses with dried and paper flowers that they consider anemones, others stock up on both sweets and wine, no doubt for a celebratory dinner, bards recite the new songs, praising the anemo archon and caroling the freedom that Barbatos gave them, and knights, both high and low ranks alike are piled with even more work.
Kaeya finds himself temporarily dispatched from the dead-end investigation, tasked to look out for any suspicious persons and possible lawbreakers, as a horde of tourists and traders flooded the city. He spends the entire day working, and catches a breather once the sun starts to set. This break, however, is swiftly interrupted, when Jean summons him, asking to deliver some messages to Albedo for the lack of workforce.
Unsurprisingly, the alchemist spends his time outside of the city in a temporary camp, preferring the fresh air and forest landscape to the human loudness and cheer. He finds you alone again, with Albedo nowhere to be seen. Seems that whatever disease has plagued you started to back off - your tone is still far from healthy, yet it stopped being so ashy and grey like the first time, and your starry eyes no longer look like you’ve cried all night non-stop.
You stand near the table, slowly sorting the alchemical compounds, with both sleeves rolled up, exposing the delicate, elegant wrists and the old bruising on the forearms. The setting sun almost lights your visage on fire - you look brighter, more vivid, than you did under the pale Dragonspine sun or the cool shadow of the forest. You look like you glow too.
Even with the fatigue, he still smiles - ah, you’re so easy on the eyes, he rests just by looking at you..
“Hello”, he approaches, distracting you from your task for the third time: “is Albedo here?”.
“He left some time ago, he wanted to sketch hilichurl tribe. Said it’s too dangerous for me, so I am just standing here, waiting for him”, Kaeya can sense a mild disappointment coming from you, which is not surprising - spending your time in the wilderness, while the city before you is set ablaze in the celebration can frustrate anyone. He gets an idea.
“I see you want to see the Windrise for yourself, am I right?”, your affirmative nod, “How about I accompany you to Mondstadt and we both have some fun?”.
“I would really want to, but Albedo asked me to stay here. I don’t want to disappoint him”, you reply, the hesitation in your voice clear as day.
“And you won't!”Kaeya retorts: “I will take all the blame, say that I spirited you away with my persuasion skills”, he adds dramatically and outstretches his palm in a theatrical gesture. You giggle at that, obviously entertained by his antics.
“Alright, you’ve convinced me”, you take his hand, before asking: “this is why you came? To invite me to a festival?”
Oh, he forgot about messages.
Kaeya leaves them in the secure box you pointed to, before taking your hand again and almost running back to Monstadt. Something tells him that Albedo will be livid once he returns to the now empty camp.
***
“Oh gods”, you gasp, looking at the burst of colors exploding in the night sky - some travelers have brought fireworks from Liyue and Inazuma and decided to set them off, creating a breathtaking scenery. Kaeya even forgets how to breathe, but not because of the fireworks, but you - you look so excited and amazed, and all kinds of colours reflect from your eyes, the stars in them resembling two large diamonds. He’s ready to kill for this sight.
The next half an hour are spent with him following you, as you excitedly run from one thing or another - turns out Albedo didn’t allow you much outside time, so even the main streets of Mondstadt are novelty to you. He drinks in your reactions, all the faces and sounds you make are stored away in his memory as you get amazed by the simplest things.
In the end, he decides to take you to the Angel’s Share, you’re already so cute and he can’t imagine how much more adorable you’ll become all drunk and giggly. He orders a bottle of a young wine for you two - made from the spring dandelions, it’s taste is perfect for the atmosphere of Windrise - it tastes of freedom and adventure, the spirit of Mondstadt encapsulated into a beverage.
“It tastes nice”, you comment, taking a small sip, “it’s sweet but not too sweet”, before your face suddenly contorts from pain and you bend in half, hands clutching your abdomen.
“[First]? What’s happening, [First]?”Kaeya rushes to you, his hands stopping your fall. You mumble something incoherent, before going limp in his hold - you are unconscious. He shakes your form to wake you up, yet you don’t respond, inner panic slowly rising - what to do, what to do, what to do?
“Did you give alcohol to [First]?!”, suddenly someone hisses near him. It’s Albedo again and it’s the first time Kaeya sees him so angry. “We need to get [First] to my lab quickly. Every second counts”, Albedo helps him to lift you up and almost runs out from the tavern, pushing others away to make way for Kaeya and you in his hands.
“Put them here”, alchemist point to the big wooden table, quickly knocking over all empty flasks down, uncaring of the equipment he might break, as he rushes into the further part of the room, taking out the already on alchemical apparatus from the depths of his cabinets.
The strange red liquid slushes inside, as Albedo swiftly opens the top and adds some hideous mix of blood and pieces of flesh into the device, the reek of blood and alcohol permeating the air.
Kaeya wants to gag. “What’s this?”, he asks, not bothering to hide his disgust.
“Medicine”, Albedo quickly replies, teal eyes shifting from the mix to your sick face.
Over time the stench subsides, and apparatus starts to glow and shimmer with that scarlet radiance Kaeya saw in the Dragonspine camp, replacing the stink with the same strange coppery scent. Albedo takes out a glass vial from his pocket and connects it to the faucet of the apparatus, collecting the fat drops of the produced liquid.
Kaeya takes a good look at the product, mesmerized by the strange glitter and shimmer - it looks alive, and then suddenly everything clicks - the origin of medicine, the smell of alcohol coming from meat and even the disappearances of the drunkards. He remembers the tales his father used to tell him, about khemia and the wonders and horrors it could unleash - artificial humans, endless gold and…
“Philosopher’s stone”, he breathes out, utterly shocked by his revelation.
“How? How did you know”, Albedo looks at him with scared eyes, almost dropping the vial with “medicine”.
“Why?! Why did you do that?!”Kaeya yells instead of answering the question, still shocked and horrified, a taste of bile appearing on his tongue.
Alchemist seems unsure and totally lost for a good minute, as his usually calm face rapidly shifts between different emotions: sadness, shock, horror, shame and even anger, until finally resulting into the expression of total defeat: “It’s for [First]’s sake”, he tiredly admits the dark secret: “The frost has severely damaged their internal organs. I’ve been trying to heal them, but to no avail”.
“So you decided to break alchemical laws and create the elixir of life”, Kaeya grimly concludes, face scrunching up from disgust.
“Yes”, an unsettling lips makes its way onto the alchemist's lips as he lifts his head and looks captain right in the eye: “I’ve broken the laws, killed people and used their bodies. All to save [First]. Don’t tell me you wouldn’t do the same, I’ve seen how you stare at [First] and I know what you want to do with them”.
.Was he that obvious?
“I see”, Kaeya replies, sensing the growing headache and rubbing his temples: “I won’t tell others of what you’ve done”. He can’t just imprison Albedo and doom you to a slow, agonizing death.
“I knew you would agree with me”, alchemist sighs “[First] is getting healthier, they won’t need… medicine as often, yet their organs will never be in a top condition”.
“How many?”
“What?”
“How many people per year?”
Albedo turns quiet again, the creepy smile vanishing as quickly as it appeared, as his eyes adopt that contemplating look again.
“No more than three people. Once I fix that liver damage you gave [First] with your wine, they won’t need no more than three transfusions”, he says his verdict and Kaeya weighs his words - three missing people per year is a miniscule number.
“I make at most philosopher’s stones per year and you cover my tracks in exchange for time with [First]. Deal?”, Albedo extends his hand for a handshake and Kaeya takes it, yet doesn’t shake it, asking instead:
“Can I get to taste [First]?”, he smiles, remembering your face and imagining your body.
“If [First] consents to that, then yes”, Albedo becomes that inexpressive again, yet he can still feel the displeasure and indignation coming from alchemist’s answer.
“I am sure they will, I think they like me”, he finally shakes the other’s arm.
They sit in a silence for a while, before the vial gets completely filled by the “medicine” - Albedo takes out a syringe and injects the mixture into your bloodstream through the veins on the hands. Kaeya smiles even wider, looking how a healthy colour returns to your face - he can’t wait to reap the fruits of this agreement.

— title; he likes your butt and your fancy hair.
— pairing; crepus ragnvindr x reader (platonic child! diluc ragnvindr x reader, platonic child! kaeya alberich x reader)
— summary; in which crepus brings you home to meet his sons, who end up telling you all about how much their father likes you
There’s no way around it. Formal outfits really don’t suit you.
You give up at tugging at the hem of your shirt, and start tugging at the neckline instead. The shirt is a little low-cut, but surely that’s fine. It looks presentable, at the very least.
You redirect your fussing to your hair. You’d taken pains to brush it, once, twice, using your silver-backed hairbrush, but the summer air had been thick and heavy on your skin as you’d made your way to the winery, and a brisk wind had ruffled your hair and chafed your cheeks. Surely it must be a tangled mess once again.
You might never have agreed to meet with Crepus and his family if you’d known that you’d be fretting so much about it. It’s the first time that you’ve ever been so serious about anyone before. In fact, it’s been a while since you’ve met anyone as sweet and as caring as Crepus, and you’re acutely aware that this meeting is crucial for the future of the relationship. There’s no way that you can possibly refuse. That’s probably why you’re paying so much attention to how you look: you’re trying to distract yourself from anticipating an evening full of long, awkward silences where you all dine in a frosty silence. Or an evening where you can feel his children’s dislike for you pulse through the air, as they accuse you of using their father for your own selfish means. Neither of these is a particularly appealing prospect. At least, you can look nicely dressed. It might make you feel a little better.
You fingers are shaking as you hold onto a flowered tin. You’ll admit that you’re eager to curry favour with Crepus and his sons, and surely a few cookies never hurt anyone.
Unless they happen to be allergic to the ingredients.
The though sends you into a fresh panic, and you clutch the tin tighter. Your mouth is dry no matter how often you swallow, and you can’t keep from shaking as you climb up the steps and approach the house. The door opens before you can so much as knock, and you wonder if they’ve been watching with their faces pressed against the window, watching out for your arrival. You try to smile, to cover up the panic coursing through you. A small, round face stares at you, with the widest, most curious eyes.
“Hi.” The red-head says boldly. “I’m Diluc. Who are you?” Before you can answer, he tears out of the foyer, yelling, “Kaeyaaaaaaa!”
“Oh –” You say, stepping back uncertainly, but it isn’t long before Diluc returns again, with another child in tow. If Diluc is bright and cheerful, Kaeya is much more serious and guarded, preferring to hang back behind his brother, uncertainty colouring his face. “Hello. I’m –”
“We know who you are. You’re [ NAME ]! Dad’s told us allllllll about you!” Diluc says, oblivious to your discomfort. He continues speaking before you even have a chance to reply, turning large eyes onto the tin still clutched in your hands, as though it might possibly protect you from the onslaught of relentless questions. “What’s that? Is that a present for us?”
You clear your throat, discreetly looking around and wondering when Crepus will arrive. “Yes, actually. I made cookies.”
“Cookies?” Kaeya pipes up, speaking for the first time as he edges closer.
“Can we have some?” Diluc asks, his face brightening.
“Well –” You hesitate for a brief moment, wondering if you should be giving them snacks so close to dinner. But then Diluc casts a pleading look at you, echoed by Kaeya a quick second later, and you can feel your already shaky resolve begin to crumble. “Okay.”
You pass them the tin. Diluc fumbles with the lid, but eventually gets it open. Anxiously, you wait for their reaction. Diluc and Kaeya both peer inside the container, staring at the crisply baked shapes. The scent of sugar and vanilla wafts out. The cookies have been painstakingly shaped into thumbprints, with strawberry jam centres, chocolate fingers and vanilla rabbits.
Diluc chooses one with a bright red centre and pops it into his mouth, savouring the sweet taste and chewing slowly. His little mouth is stained red with jam, and crumbs cling to the corners of his mouth, both of which are promptly transferred to his mouth with a wet finger. “Dad’s been talking a lot about you.”
“Y-Yeah!” Kaeya says through crumbs and icing, shoving another cookie – whole – into his mouth.
You can feel the blood rushing to your cheeks. You have to clear your throat before you can speak. “Really?”
“Yeah. He likes your butt and your fancy hair. I know. I read his diary.”
Amazingly, you can feel yourself beginning to laugh.
Encouraged by your reaction, Diluc nods his head vigorously, already reaching into the tin for a second cookie. “Yeah! You know, he spent an hour deciding what to wear for tonight? Both shirts looked the same but he still couldn’t decide, so he called us and Adelinde in to ask. And when I asked why he was asking us about his clothes, Dad said that you look really nice, and he wanted to look nice for you too because he likes you a whole bunch, and he’s thinking of. Uh. Um. Pro-Pre –”
“. . . Preposing.” Kaeya says helpfully, biting the ears off a chocolate rabbit.
“Uh-huh. What’s preposing?”
“Dunno.”
“Let’s ask Dad later.”
“Yeah!”
You seize up. Frozen, like a wide-eyed rabbit in headlights, you can’t even manage to nod as you try to assimilate all this new information. Crepus loves you. He’s thinking of proposing. You can feel Diluc and Kaeya looking at you, darting around your face and searching for answers and reasons to your sudden change in expression. You avert your gaze, unable to meet their eyes.
“Your face looks funny!”
“Funny.”
“Diluc? Kaeya?”
Crepus descends from the stairs, immaculately dressed as always. He smiles when he sees you, his face wrinkling up into the lines of one used to joy and gentleness. When you fold yourself into his side, he presses a kiss to your forehead. You breathe out a sigh and close your eyes, shutting out the world and inhaling the scent of his pale blue shirt. It smells like home; of freshly washed clothes and lavender.
“Sweetheart, you’ve met the boys?”
Diluc smiles at you, showing off the prominent gap in between his teeth as he beams; it seems as though the light from the lamps lining the hallway intensifies their light. “[ NAME ] brought cookies, Dad!”
Kaeya nods vigorously, holding up a saliva-coated biscuit for emphasis. “Cookies!”
Crepus’ brow furrows as he looks at you; you can only shake your head and offer him a sheepish, guilty smile in return. He’d said that there wasn’t a need for you to bring gifts of any sort, but it was a bit too late for that now, seeing as how his sons have already fallen upon your gift with the ravenous demeanour of a pair of hungry wolves. “Did you say thank you?”
“Thank you!”
“Go wash your hands. Dinner’s ready.” Crepus says, and it’s all the invitation that Diluc and Kaeya need. With a last wave at you, the two boys scamper into the house, still holding onto the tin. “And no more cookies!”
“So.” Crepus takes hold of your hand, letting his fingers slip in between your own. And in that moment, nothing else really seems to matter. Your heart is swelling, as a thousand different emotions hits you in a tidal wave, overpowering the fear, the uncertainty. And in that moment, you realise that you wouldn’t mind this domesticity. You might even find yourself longing for it, if you’re being honest. Two healthy, vibrant children, an adoring husband. And a big house to wander around in, bright and beautifully decorated, knowing that when you were asleep, your husband would slip into bed beside you. “What did you talk about with Diluc and Kaeya?”
His words only cause your smile to widen, and you bounce on your heels, your laughter giddy and laced with a promise. “It’s a secret.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~
~since in mondstadt lore when the grand master of the knight of favonius took all the horses in town this obviously takes place before he left~
Diluc :
As a noble man diluc learned rather young how to ride a horse, he just didn't expected his lover to know too
So one afternoon when he were free he told you to meet him at dawn winery which you did, and at the entrance stood diluc and two horses at his sides
He told you that for your date the two of you would gi horse back riding, and he started to give you the main instructuons about how to ride and the safety precautions
You didn't listened knowing already everhthing and he was surprised to see you ready to go
He put himself on his hirse and the two of you started a date like this
At the end of the afternoon he put the horses back where they belonged and guided you through the main hall of the manor to have dinner with you
During the whole trip diluc where amazed by how easily and comfortable you seemed on your horse and congratulated you for that
During the evening he kept repeating how proud he is for you to be his s/o whenever the two of you talk
And finally when you fell asleep at his sides later in the night he promised himself he would organise more dates like this in the futur, maybe a trip to liyue on horse it would be nice for a week end
The cavalry captain wouldn't honor his name if don't know how to horseback riding right?
Plus he grew up with diluc, and master crepus don't play favorite, if diluc learned how to do something, kaeya learned too
You were the first one to encounter the horse and recognizing the one kaeya usually take with him you started to get worried and jumped on it to join your lover
You arrived right on time before kaeya used all his strength, defeating the abyss mage you helped kaeya up and brought him safely to mondstadt
He collapsed of tiredness along the way and that's only when he woke up in the church of favonious that that he realized you saved him and you knew how to ride a horse
You just laughed at his questuon answering him you took a few class when you were younger
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eula :
The daughter of the noble lawrence family sur knew how to horseback ride
Even if it's more a "male thing" according to her family she had to at least learn some of the etiquette
And it's been a long time since the two of you are together, she wanted to ask you to marry her, but before that she need to present you to her family, not that she cared about their opinion, she just want for you to be sure that if you ever marry her, you'll be linked to everyone in her family in one way of another, and she want you to be sure about your decision
She thought about introducing you during a trip in horse her family take from time to time, and she wanted to make sure everything would be perfect
But to her surprise you already mastered the basics and were elegantly strolling with your horse around her
She mumbled ridiculous promise of vengeance for making her loose her time trying to teach you when you already knew most thibgs and with a laugh you asked her to join you
And she did a few minutes ago, so the two of you could go to dragon spine to finish your special training there, after all a real member of aristocracy shouldn't get dirty, even while riding their horse
At the end during the trip with eula's family you got accepted among them for knowing the perfect etiquette, thanks to eula, she was relieved, and when she asked for your hand, she was by then almost sure you would say yes
~hope you'll like it!~

I love your writing and how much you’re able to bring out the true personalities of each character!! I was wondering if you could do Kaeya, Xiao, Diluc, Zhongli, and Childe celebrating y/n’s bday. (My birthday was a couple of days ago but I didn’t receive any greetings from my genshin team for some reason... 😔)
happy birthday
a/n: SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! as for your problem, have you tried looking in character>voiceover>voicelines? the wishes should appear there, i dont know what happened if they don't
plot: celebrating the reader's birthday
contains: kaeya, diluc, tartaglia, xiao, zhongli
warnings: brief mentions of alcohol, otherwise pure fluff
kaeya
a surprise party
to be completely honest, kaeya barely cares about his own birthday enough to even remember the date
and obviously he does remember yours, how could he not, but- he's just not used to celebrating, you know?
so watch him know very well your birthday is coming up, with a mindset like: "okay, you've got time, you'll figure something great out, it's gonna be amazing"
and the day or two before he realizes, he indeed wants to do something great and amazing, but he completely ran out of time
fortunately, who cares about reservations when your brother's a bar owner, right?
he figures out that if he waits till sunset with the party he still has an entire day he can spend of preparing everything he needs
so as you sleep peacefully, he sneaks out of the room at the break of dawn, ready to work his ass off
he doesn't want you feeling bad, after all, right?
the thing is, you do start to feel a bit bad, as an entire morning goes by, and not only is kaeya nowhere in sight, literally nobody is! you walk through the streets of mondstadt, looking for any familiar face to spend the time with, but the city seems awfully empty of your friends. you end up having fun at diona's cat's tail, her complaining about everyone, and you, surprisingly, joining in, but it still doesn't replace the companion of your friends.
you go over your day as per usual, and decide to bake yourself a cake, since you think that'll cheer you up. you run out of flour, though, so it's necessary to go over to the store and stock up on some. right as you cross the city's main square, you run into diluc.
"oh, sorry, haven't seen you" you say, not even lifting up your face to look at who's chest did you bump on, until he grabs your wrist, stopping you in your tracks.
"someone looks dejected" he says, and you almost want to punch him for not realizing why. instead of doing that, however pleasing it sounds, you just shrug your shoulders. "come on, you look like you could use a special drink of mine"
and with that, he pulls you towards angel's share, letting you complain about your day, though you don't explicitly say it's your birthday, still mad he didn't remember that on his own.
"so he completely ditched you without a word?" he acts surprised and offended "that's so awful-" he continues, opening the door before you.
just as he opens it, and you hear the word "awful" you see the bar as if for the first time. flowery garlands are up beneath the ceiling, the tables are arranged differently and covered with colorful, pastel table cloths, music is playing. the backdoor is opened and you see the outside of the building decorated in a similar manner, candles and fairy lights spread all over the place.
the sun is slowly setting over the buildings visible through the back door, and the atmosphere inside borders on magical, but to top that all off-
"happy birthday!" you hear a lot of voices shout, and your eyes widen at the sight of all those who you hold dear present. you can't help but smile, seeing all of them cheer, grinning from ear to ear.
"i-" you look over at diluc "how'd you pull this off?"
you swear you saw him crack a soft smile before admitting that he in fact, didn't. you're about to ask who did, then, but you're interrupted by a silvery voice, coming from behind you.
"i did" the voice says, a hand moving to cover your eyes "wanna guess who?" you hear a whisper inches away from your ear, shaking from surprise.
affection swells in your chest as you quietly say "kaeya", your smile growing fondler, knowing that aside from all your friends, he's here too, and as a mastermind, at that.
"hope you don't hold leaving you by yourself for a couple of hours against me" he continues, arms sneaking around your waist, chin rested on your shoulder "d'ya like it?"
emotion gets the better of you, and you don't know what to say, so choose only to nod eagerly.
"a lot" you finally whisper, much to kaeya's satisfaction.
"happy birthday, then" he says, suddenly pulling away from you, as to exclaim loudly "attention everyone!!" he takes a fork to ring on his glass "i hereby declare, that the next round's on me!"
cheers fill the room, along with one "yea right" and another "like we'd believe that" before the owner of the bar speaks up as well.
"as much as i'd like to see that" diluc settles "today's drinks are on the house."
diluc
a magical evening
so he’s a fan of planning
not a diehard fan, but a fan nonetheless
it’s just, he would rather have things planned ahead than wake up a day before and not know what to do (like a kaeya) like an idiot.
so you bet he has already calculated how much time he has left the moment you told him the date of your birthday.
unlike kaeya, he prefers to be working alone, but also likes to keep his plans a surprise. he himself hates surprises, but has to admit, doing one for someone else is quite the fun
he stays quiet about your birthday coming up until the very last moment, and if you want to ask him if he wants to do anything with you that day, he says he already has something in mind, you know, nonchalantly. as if he hadn’t been thinking about it for archons know how long
he’ll wake up before you just to wish you a happy birthday the moment you wake up, and he might be unusually affectionate for a bit, but don’t even bother asking what he has planned out - he won’t tell, not even if you beg.
diluc wanted to kick you out of the house all day. “oh, there’s shopping to be done” “oh, this lady wanted to talk to you”, or “you know, come to think of it, didn’t jean say she had something she’d wanted to show you for your birthday?” every lame excuse in the book, he has used it.
you decide to finally grant him what he so obviously wanted, and leave, choosing to walk all around the city, and even outside the gates, you make it quite a trip, not knowing when to come back.
you smile upon thinking about how secretive he tried to be, but how even he, the mighty descendant of one of the noble families of mondstadt, a man as collected and stoic as can be, couldn’t contain his excitement. you saw all his little side smiles and the way he bit his lip a little after settling today’s rough plans with you, he was so happy, you’re satisfied just by seeing that, sometimes forgetting the real reason for why he was actively plotting something.
you walk and walk, and then walk some more, but your legs start to hurt, and you’re growing hungry, so you decide to finally get back home.
when you approach the winery, you can see the lights in the ballroom are lit up from a mile away. your heart can’t help but flip with excitement, since diluc hates using the room, hates throwing parties, and would much rather just forget it exists.
it’s a beautiful venue though, looks like something out of a fairytale, and you always tell him how much you love it. it’s no surprised he decided to use it, but you can’t wait to see it anyway.
as you get closer to the building, it becomes more and more apparent that the ballroom isn’t the only place that got upgraded to a five star level for one night and one night only. the building looks amazing, and the gates are open all the way, as if there was a party to be thrown and guests to arrive any time soon.
but as you’re welcomed into the mansion, there’s no one else in the hall, other than a dressed up diluc, his hair in a high pony, just how you always said you liked it, wearing a suit you hadn’t seen on him since... well, you don’t even recall.
“well, if it isn’t my honorary guest” he announces with an official tone, almost making you a bit flustered.
“what’s all this? am i not, i don’t know, underdressed?” you giggle nervously, and he approaches you, a tiny little black box in his hand.
“you could wear a potato sack and shine brighter than all the stars together” he says softly, showing you the little box. “and as tradition orders, happy birthday.”
you carefully open the box, a simple, silver necklace resting on the little cushion inside. you take it out, and watch the ornament, but can’t for the life of you figure out what it is.
“you see” diluc provides an explanation “it’s a common thing to do to gift someone jewellery as a gift, and almost as common to have necklaces with your star constellation. that is, the allignment the stars were in the moment you were born. but i decided, that i wanted to give you one with the alignment that shone on the sky on the happiest day of my life. well, according to mona it did.”
you stay silent for a second, astonished with the present, before asking
“and that is?”
“the day we met.”
tartaglia
how to surprise your lover 101
when i tell you this boy knew EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING from the moment he first thought of it
now. he loves celebrating, anything, really, the atmosphere of a party is almost magnetic to him
he grew up thinking every person deserves to have an amazing day once a year, only about themselves, so it’s very obvious to him that he IS doing something, and it needs to be huge
now, in a family as big as his, it was hard to keep things a secret, so he developed a whole plan on how to avoid having you finding out what he was planning
and that is: by having you know
it’s really getting annoying, how everybody keeps walking up to you, for a good week now, and asking if you’re excited for the big party childe’s throwing. the first time you hear it, you almost immediately run to confront him about it, since you explicitly said that a party, a big one, at that, is the last thing you want.
he obviously says that it’s nothing, and you needn’t worry about that. not that you trust his words, obviously, but you let it go, partly because you know how attached he is to the idea of a huge celebration, and partly because arguing with someone as stubborn can really be tiring.
so you settle, and fake a smile for every conversation with the alleged “guests” for your alleged party, thinking you’ll just suffer through it and then just do something with your childe the next day, having yourself plan it.
the wait is stressful, and when you finally see tartaglia walk through your bedroom door, dressed up really nicely, with a soft ribbon to tie on your eyes, so you wouldn’t see anything before it’s “time”, you almost want to ditch him, but that would be too rude.
complying begrudgingly, you let him guide you through the city, feeling the cold evening air hit your skin, wondering where did he set up this party of his, since you don’t hear anything.
oh god, is everyone gonna jump out of hiding yelling “happy birthday”? please, not that, at least not that.
when he finally unties the material covering your eyes, you see nothing but a wooden platform at the end of the harbor, with a blanket set up, some really nice-smelling food and what appears to be champagne laying on it. the sun is setting slowly behind the mountains in the distance, the only sound you hear being waves crushing on the rocks.
you can’t help but gasp.
“but” you turn around to face childe with a questioning look “what about the party?”
“what party?” he looks surprised “i never said anything about any party” he adds with a knowing smirk.
as you analyze your surroundings, he watches you with a soft smile.
“come on, don’t be so shocked now” he finally says “i know you better than to plan you something you’d hate. i’m not THAT much of an asshole”
his giggle sounds almost too good in the beautiful scenery around you, and you can’t help but let your eyes water for a little while, before rapidly blinking the tears back.
“is this more similar to what you’ve dreamed of?” he asks.
“yeah” you whisper “yes, it is”
“well, that’s the only thing that matters. shall we?” his hand points to the blanket, and you nod, smiling.
this may or may not be inspired by that one episode of Brooklyn 9-9
xiao
trying something new
birthdays? what’s that
you mean to tell him he has lived two thousand years of his life without realizing the day it was brought to him should be celebrated?
yup, no, you can explain it all you want, he still doesn’t get the idea. he just finds it to be way too trivial, okay?
what gets to him, though, is that there’s a custom of doing something meaningful for the person celebrating their birthday, to make them feel important
well, you should’ve led with that, that he can do!
he would never just go and straight up ask for help if he needed any. so don’t be surprised if you hear yet more new stories about the yaksha that allegedly lives near wangshu inn sneaking into the kitchen, or watching through the glass.
he spends HOURS waiting for the chef to finally prepare the dish he hopes for, and once he does, he follows every step very carefully. and then again. and again. and one more time, up until he feels he can do it himself.
when he finally gets to enter said kitchen, it’s already way past midnight, and everything is dark, barely visible. he manages to find his way around, though, preparing all the ingredients, and starting to mix them the same way the chef did.
turns out it’s not as easy as it looks, for example, he didn’t measure how long this thing is supposed to be cooked, or on what temperature, so the process gets a little messy at one point. he might even have to start over. like, twice, tops.
it’s already nearing dusk when he finishes, taking the fruit of his works with him.
as per usual, you wait for him on the roof, and as per usual you don’t realize he’s right behind you until he speaks up.
“happy birthday” he says out of the blue, causing you to jump up in shock.
“oh my, xiao, you scared me! again!” you laugh.
“it’s today, isn’t it?” he continues, as if he didn’t hear you. when he sees you nod, he awkwardly shows you the package he held behind his back, watching closely as you open it with a questioning look.
inside, there’s a carefully wrapped serving of almond tofu, it could use a little bit of touch ups, but it still looks and smells delicious nonetheless.
“did you do this yourself?” you turn around to face him, smiling in disbelief
“mhm” he gets a little flustered, and decides not to tell you about his little kitchen adventure. “is it… is it good?” he asks, and you smile even more fondly.
“why don’t you come over here and taste it with me?”
zhongli
one can never go wrong with a classic
zhongli knows every single tradition there is to know.
literally.
so you don’t have to even tell him anything - he knows. he might not know what to do with his knowledge, but he does know what would make you happy
this man is a gentleman who believes that some moves to make someone swoon never get old
he even got a free day from work just for the occasion, or he may just think he told hu tao that he wants it? either way, he’s not there. not like his boss isn’t used to it.
right as the clock strikes 5 pm, you hear a knocking on your door. checking how you look one last time, you smile to the reflection in the mirror, and walk over to answer.
as you open said door, you find yourself dumbfounded at the sight of a completely soaked zhongli, rain pouring heavily behind his back. his hair sticks to his face, and all the layers of his suit seem drenched to their very core, but a smile you see so rarely paints his face, as he presents you with a bouquet of flowers.
and my oh my, just how huge is it! he barely even manages to hold it in hand, and the flower crowns hide his entire chest and half his face when he places them in front of you.
“i believe this is for you” he says gently “are you ready to go?”
you can’t even find the right words, as you size the bouquet up, taking it from him with a quiet “thank you so much” before taking it back to the house, already in search of the right vase to put them in.
“may i come in and dry myself up a bit?” he asks, still from the doorstep, and you laugh before granting him the permission.
when the both of you are ready to go, you meet in the hallway, both smiling softly at the other, a bit awkwardly, as the beginning of every meeting is.
“you look even better than usually” he finally says, pride rising in his chest at how your grin widens.
“same goes for you, mr zhongli” you answer just as cheekily, waiting for what he’s gonna say next.
“well, thank you, but i don’t think today’s about me now, is it?” he counters with a bit of a side eye. “shall we go?” he points to the open door, and the both of you leave, you grabbing his arm to fit under one umbrella.
“may i ask where’re we going?”
you can’t miss the way his smile turns prideful and confident as he says:
“i” he accentuates “am taking you out to dinner”
he might feel a bit offended by how sarcastically you gasp at the revelation, but it’s okay. as long as he gets to see you laugh, it’s okay.
daily reminder that requests are open [here]

Relationship Headcanons
Characters: Zhongli, Childe, Kaeya, Diluc, and of course our dear reader :>
Reader: Gender Neutral! (I tried to make this as gender neutral as possible)
Warnings: possible archon spoilers reguarding Zhongli
Notes: yay another headcanon post! I try to make these as frequent as I can (might start using a schedule since it’s easier to manage that way)
Also these are never proofread so if there are any mistakes, I apologize (also my grammar sometimes sucks ass so you might see a word but it’s like another spelling for it. Ex: There their they’re)
All of them will be in “Keep Reading”
Zhongli
Relationship troupe(?): married but not married
- y’all are terribly cute and whatever
- perhaps you know or may not, Zhongli has a lot of adoration/respect for you (there like the same thing… kinda… right?)
- working at the same place? Um yes.
- you help each other with stuff since your work (wether paper or physical) is similar
- Hu Tao tried to give y’all different shifts, but it didn’t work out.
- rainy days are very preferred cause usually Liyue Harbor (kinda) closes more often then not on these days
- lazy day. Lazy couple day.
- on rainy days you tend to do a lot of daily things together as a way to pass the time and soak in the sudden off day you both get
- I mean you guys do tons of things together on the daily already, but on specific days like this?
- your cooking together, cleaning together, maybe even napping together (for a few more hours then a normal nap)
- you definitely already know who he is (I mean if you put two and two together it’s kinda obvious…)
- when you asked him, he was surprised you weren’t freaking out
- so so many questions
- he explained everything, as he had nothing to hide
- as he spoke and explained, you listened intently
- this most likely made your bond as a couple, stronger (I mean it takes a lot to decide it’s finally time to resign as a god and live as a mortal)
- it is an absolute joy when he tells you stories from his years of living (especially when you can’t sleep)
- even better when you listen to Liyue’s storytellers tell the tale of the Great Rex Lapis, only to ask Zhongli about it to see if it’s true
- it does get a bit sad when you think abt how Zhongli still is immortal though, but you have Zhongli to reassure you on these worries
“Fret not about the future, beloved. Remain in the present, for if you worry to much of the future, you might miss what’s right in front of you.”
- PDA is no stranger with you two.
- of course you keep it to a minimum in public with just hand holding (maybe some small kisses here and there)
- behind closed doors is when you can be as affectionate as you’d like
- you could be attached to him for the whole night and he wouldn’t mind
- Childe is like an often topic. He’s a good friend to both of you
- it’s no surprise when he plans an outing with one of you (or even both of you)
“Welcome home, my beloved. How was your day with Childe?”
Wether he comes home first and awaits your arrival or your home to greet him the moment he walks in, he always looks happy to see you <3
Yknow what they say: Happy wife/husband/spouse, happy life!… oh wait you guys aren’t- (at least not in this one!)
—————
Childe
Relationship troupe(?): long distance relationship/travel the world relationship (we’ll do both since it’s always in between)
- when he’s away, he’d make sure you were safe
- wether it’d be having a few trusted fatui underlings to keep watch of you (up close or from a distance) or have Ekaterina (lady that works at the bank) to check up on you
- letters. So many letters.
Hey girlie(I still think he calls you this lmao-)
I miss you a lot. I hope you’ve been doing well without me around, can I apologize again for not being there? I know I say it a lot, but I do truly miss you and cannot wait to return to Liyue Harbor to see you again.
Perhaps on my next departure, I can take you with me! Wouldn’t that be something? Would you like to join me?
Ah this is dragging out a bit isn’t it, haha. Oh, attached to this letter is a gift from where I’m currently at along with my scarf (I promised I cleaned it, no smell of blood TT).
I think that’s all that I planned to say… I miss you. I love you. Please be well, I’ll see you very soon!
Sincerely yours,
Childe (sometimes he’d sign with his actual name)”
- that’s always his last letter from wherever he’s at, a gift and an article of clothing he’s taken with him (usually a light jacket or scarf)
- however his other letters…
Hey girlie! How have you been? You’ve been taking care of yourself, right?
Ekaterina checks on you often right? I hope she does, I assigned her to you while I’m away. It’d be a shame to hear that she hasn’t been doing her job. (Menacing music starts playing-)
I don’t know how much longer this departure will last but in the mean time, my letters will suffice as our small talk ^^!
Write to me soon!
Yours truly,
Childe
- yeah basic check up letters really.
- at one point he had sent so many that you were beginning to worry about the usage of paper.
- you tried to keep them all at first but it was beginning to be too much stuff in one cabinet, so you settled on only the last letter he sends before his return
- those have much more meaning, since it’s like his promise to return
- he mainly arrives at night so he can deal with whatever main problem is here before going home to your shared house/apartment(?)
- you tend to wake up and find him sleeping peacefully next to you (the first time he did this, he scared the living soul out of you-)
- if he (unfortunately to him) arrives in the morning, he’ll have you stuck to his side while he finished whatever business he has in Liyue
- he spends as much time as he can with you, while he’s needed in Liyue, until his next departure
- oh he is the saddest when he has to leave you, he checks soooo many times to be sure you really can’t come with him
“Are you sure that’s what it says? Like really sure? Like sure sure? They really can’t come with?”
- he pouts a bit while saying his good bye
- when he actually leaves, he wears a very sad yet apologetic smile on his face while he waves at you until you both can no longer see each other in the distance
- if you can come however… he’s absolutely jumping with joy
- super giddy about this next place since you’ll be able to see it rather then read it from his letters
- if it’s by boat, your stuck with him as he claims
“The voyage gets super cold! I’m just warming you up so you don’t get sick!”
- if it’s not by boat and it’s more of a walking trip?
“Are you tired? We can stop for a bit if you need it. Or I can carry you on my back for a bit?” (he’s very strong obviously that’s why he offered.)
- super attentive to you while traveling
- he tries to put your health and well being above whatever he needs to do
Overall, as long as your safe and happy, he’s happy!
—————
Kaeya
Relationship troupe(?): stall vendor captures interest of cavalry captain on his way to work (hopefully that makes sense💀)
- idk the idea sounded cute
- he defo visited your stall SUPER often because he “needed” stuff from your stall specifically (not because of the cute vendor who ran the stall)
Anyways back on topic (I’ll prolly make one on how you met them-)
- If he’s on patrol around Mondstadt, you best believe he’ll visit Flora (I think that’s her name) often
“Wonderful selection you have today, Flora. Can you give me what you think would suit [name] best?”
- he drops by at least twice a day if he’s patrolling (once when you open your stall and once at your lunch break)
- on days that he patrols, he doesn’t have much work besides patrol so he gets to go home early
- on those days, you guys plan little dates or a spa night of sorts (maybe not spa but like you guys help each other relax, have a bath together and stuff like that)
- Kaeya loves your touch. Affection or more
- on nights where you both fill each other’s affection needs, he’s very… um obedient?
- ask him for something and it’s done. Want his cooking? Done. Want something to drink? You got it! Want to just cuddle? Oh boy he’ll be there within a heartbeat.
- of course he tends to put your needs first, even if he feels drained on affection. He knows after you’ve had your fill, it’s his turn
“Oh my, aren’t you cuddly today. Haha, you’re so adorable.”
- though of course, not every day in this relationship can be a happy one
- more often then not, he comes home terribly late
- work keeps him away from you to often, in your opinion
- certain days where he knows he’ll be working after hours are the days you stay with him in his office
- you stay with him, since going home to an empty house for a little too long is well… cold and very sad (and sometimes scary.)
- he’s more then happy when you decide to stay in his office with him
“Oh? I wonder who it is~” he speaks, slowly approaching the door you had knocked on, openings to greet you
“To whom do I owe the pleasure to, for letting me see my darling so late into this night?”
- wether your there to talk to him or just there cause you need his presence, he’s happy
- if your asleep and he finishes early, he may carry you home or he may wake you up if your shared house is a bit far
- but sometimes his work keeps him there the whole night, on these nights are the ones where you and him take refuge on his office couch
- may not be the most comfortable it at least you still get to be in his embrace as you sleep
- definitely walks you to work (if you both spent the night in his office, cause he’s usually the one out the door first when y’all at home)
- but of course, you can’t always stay with him on nights that his work steals him away
- he’s so drawn into work, he’s afraid he might say something to you out of stress and exhaustion, so he usually tells you not to come in after hours (only these occasions)
- he honestly feels so bad, but y’know work can be hard and sometimes that affects you
- but! Lucky for you, it’s not so often this happens!
You think he’s good here as you boyfriend? Wait until you
Um anyways~ he loves you, you love him. He trusts you, you trust him. What more can I say? Your bond with each other is very special <3
—————
Diluc
Relationship troupe(?): let’s say you join Kaeya often to the tavern, but you don’t drink so you strike up a convo with Charles every time your there. This time however it was Diluc who was there and the way you gushed on about your passions/dreams/wishes captivated him. (Super long but oh well)
- seeing as how your not much of a drinker, he came up with a few non-alcoholic drinks (seeing as he doesn’t drink much either)
- very very gentleman like
- he definitely opens doors and stuff for you (unless you say otherwise)
- tbh you prolly didn’t like him much when you first talked to him, he gave you plenty of cold glares
- he prolly struggles with touch (like he doesn’t know how to show affection well and is afraid he may hurt you)
- he’s good at making drinks, so he’s definitely good at making food… right? WRONG!
- he can make simple dishes and his signature dish obviously, but other then that? Either you cook, eat out, have the maids cook, or learn how to cook together
- he prolly burnt food once or thrice, tryna cook you something
- as much as you enjoy this gesture, you’ve restricted him of his kitchen uses
“Diluc… we can’t have the kitchen be lit on fire again. We live a little to far from mondstadt to call for help.”
- pyro vision = more body heat then normal people (or people do other visions)
- winter cuddles are like the best. (If he lets you stay attached to him ofc… which he might…)
“It can’t be helped, I don’t want you getting sick from the cold. What if we just… stayed in bed today?”
- if not, you’ll be stuck on the couch by the fire for a looooooong time (until he prolly caves in and let’s you cling to him)
“Dear, I know it’s cold outside, but I can’t stay attached to you all day. I have work to finish, I promise after, you can cling to me for as long as you want.”
- defo questions your rational thinking when you ask to go out and play in the snow
- like it’s freezing. You were just complaining about it being cold… and now you wanna head outside to play in the coldest thing outside?
- he obviously caves and goes out with you
- but before that, he bundles you in enough layers to keep you warm and comfortable (he on the other hand, doesn’t really worry as his body heat is hella different from yours, still where’s enough layers tho)
- he’s very gentle, like… super gentle
- if he uses force on you (for reasons like pulling you away from someone he’s wary of) he’s still somehow incredibly gentle, like the force of his pull doesn’t hurt
- when he grazes your cheek with his fingers? Kinda feels like a feather because of how light and gentle he does it (he don’t wanna end up accidentally hurting you)
- but that’s more of the beginning of your relationship with him.
- as time goes on and you teach him more and more, he gets more comfortable and his grades aren’t so feathery that they feel nonexistent
- still gentle but not so gentle that it feels like he ain’t doing whatever he’s doing
- as always, your well-being comes first.
- he’s extremely attentive, maybe even more then the other three in this
- slight change in anything you do, alerts him (not in a creepy way cause I heard stuff like that his can be considered creepy)
- he’ll be by your side as quick as he can be, when he knows something is amiss
- very supportive of what you do/wanna do, as long as your wary of your safety he’ll be at ease
- you often hang out at the tavern till closing time to walk home with Diluc
- sometimes you’ll even wait inside the tavern for him to finish his… nightly patrols (dark night hero moment omg)
As long as he knows your by his side, he’s happy. As happy as he possibly can be.
—————
Last notes: Honestly this one was super hard to think about. These obviously aren’t accurate since there headcanons, but I do hope they weren’t too ooc
Also sorry abt how long it took to post this TT
Next one I plan to do is either “When your sick” or “How they met you/asked you out” :)

✧༺✦✮✦༻∞ ∞༺✦✮✦༻✧
tysm for this<3 hope u dont mind writing for girls! I’m non-binary actually but i was born in a girls body LOL- also if u wanna make it GN so everyone can read it go ahead! drink water and get rest! only do this if u want!
Thoma, Baal, Kaeya, Beidou and Childe on the Reader's Birthday!
A/N: yes!! ofc I write for women and I have no character limit, it'll just take more time the more characters you want. for anyone who's curious or wants to request, I have a list of things that I won't write and women are not on that list! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY 💕 (who is changing their emoji to 🧸 I believe just so everyone is aware) LOVE YOU SO MUCH TY FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!
I added on kaeya and beidou bc I love themmm and my siblings simp for them and I don't have much character diversity so far hehe. also I haven't done baal's story quest so I'm sorry if she's a little ooc.
Thoma:
my man is ready and raring to go on the days leading up to your birthday. He's planned something. It doesn't matter what he has to do, he's doing it.
he's already asked Ayaka if he could take a few days off to get things ready and she is so supportive she even helps him.
HE HAS CONTACTS
if you want something that's super rare and expensive and practically impossible to acquire, you best believe he's calling in all his favours and getting whatever the fuck you want.
he baked your cake with his own two hands and it is nothing short of perfection. he made you a card and he wrote you a beautiful heartfelt message and drew a lil picture of you (that's really just a stick figure but APPRECIATE THE EFFORT)
if you wanted to go out, he took you everywhere you wanted and treated you to a meal, making sure everyone you saw remembered to wish you a happy birthday.
if you felt like staying inside, he threw you your own little party for two and did whatever your wanted - sleeping, dancing, singing, art, cooking, literally anything.
he was at your beck and call all day. normally he serves the shirasagi himegimi, now he's serving you not like he doesn't already do everything you say
to summarise, he loves you with his whole heart and will do anything to make your day extra special 🥺
Baal
"It's beloved's birthday soon? Oh...I suppose I should make a few preparations..."
Proceeds to invade your home while you're out and orders people around to make everything fucking perfect
It's incredible once you ignore the trespassing and you can't help but fall in love with her even more.
she's decorated your home with traditional birthday decorations and everything is just the way you'd like it - although it's very to the letter, almost like she was reading a manual while getting people to prepare things...
as soon as you ask her about it, she crumbles. she wasn't sure how to go about it exactly so she asked Yae but omitted your name to avoid getting teased, hence receiving very general birthday advice.
ITS STILL BEAUTIFUL THO SHE TOOK MOST OF YOUR LIKINGS INTO ACCOUNT JUST SAY YOU LOVE IT ALREADY
she wouldn't be too willing to leave or go outside because people will talk, but if you wish it, it shall be.
she bought you whatever you wanted plus a lil something extra as a token of her appreciation of your existence. maybe a decorative object that reminded her of you - she might be even customised it to add a personal touch
all in all, she loves you eternally and she's gonna make sure you know it every year on your special day
Childe
we all know that this menace is a money machine, right?
THIS MAN SPENT ALL HIS MORA ON YOU AND NOBODY SO MUCH AS QUESTIONED IT - HIS DEVOTION IS PROMINENT
you woke up and he presented you with your first gift. at breakfast, he cooked you a whole fucking feast. the rest of the morning, he took you out and let you pick whatever you want from multiple stores and gave you another gift. at lunch, he bought you another 50 fucking course meal
the evening, however, he spent a little more intimately.
you got to cut your three-tier cake and open the rest of your presents at home before he let you enjoy the day however you wanted, similarly to Thoma.
he did whatever you wanted - it was your birthday after all.
he made sure you knew that you were loved and appreciated and expressed how happy he is that you were born and that you're in his life.
oh, and to make up for lovingly hogging you all day, he threw you a party with all your loved ones the day after to make sure everyone got their chance to celebrate your day.
Kaeya Alberich
"Oh? Is it darling's birthday already? I'll have to take the day off to make things extra special..."
kaeya, every day is a day off for you stfu
Mr Alberich really sets aside the tension between him and his brother to ask if he can borrow Angel's Share for a lil party. Using his smooth tactics, he eventually gets Diluc to cave
(basically, Kaeya just ranted how much he loved you and wanted to make things special and Diluc fucking gave up hehe)
He got Jean, Lisa, Amber, Diluc, Venti, Fischl, Bennett, Diona, Klee, Albedo, Sucrose, Barbara, Eula, Mona, Noelle, Razor, Rosaria and all your friends and family to agree to come to Angel's Share and enjoy a night of fun and (Y/N) appreciation.
On your actual birthday, he spent the morning in bed with you, talking about how much he loved you and shamelessly flirting with you before making breakfast.
You spent the morning and most of the afternoon walking around town and enjoying yourselves, allowing the townsfolk to wish you a happy birthday.
and Kaeya convinced you into joining him at Angel's Share in the evening, only to be pleasantly surprised by the people singing happy birthday and the confetti that flew around the room.
this man is lovestruck - if you let him spoil you any longer, you'd probably collapse of over appreciation (and excessive flirty one-liners hehe)
Beidou
my girl beidou? she went all out for you, there's literally a 0.00 percent chance you don't enjoy what she had planned.
You spent your day with her walking around Liyue Harbour, doing everything you wanted.
You listened to storytellers, bought various items like fireworks and sparklers and ate good food, just enjoying each other's company until the evening arrived.
Beidou just dragged you away, making sure you closed your eyes the whole time until you reached your destination.
When you opened your eyes, you couldn't believe it - you were on the Cruz Fleet, surrounded by her crew and all your loved ones.
As soon as you stepped on, the ship leisurely sailed off into the night like some fairytale and you got to enjoy a moonlit sail, as cheesy as it sounds.
It was slow and you allowed yourself to savour the way the ships's lanterns reflects and glittered on the water a long with the moon.
You were surrounded by everyone you cared about and everyone who cared about you (but some of the crew drank a little too much in celebration of your birth hehe)
Beidou just wants you to know how much she and everyone else loves you and wants you to know that she is glad you exist <3
