Jeff Lerner’s dad was a stockbroker turned money manager. His mom was an attorney for a Big 5 law firm. His mother got him his very first job of delivering office supplies around a law office. Jeff didn’t like the job and got himself fired after only 3 weeks.
Later, at 17, Jeff started skipping school without telling his parents. It got so bad that the schools threatened his parents with a truancy ticket if he ever came back. So, his mom withdrew him from school and bought him a piano at his request. He taught himself and focused on becoming a musician. Over the next 6 years, he tried again and again to get into the University of Houston for piano. Finally, he got a scholarship- without his high school diploma- and graduated Magna cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Theory and Composition in Jazz Piano with a minor in business finance.

In his 20s, Jeff invested the money his parents had saved for college and worked as a professional piano player. By 29, Jeff had also started 10 more businesses. So, my final Jeff Lerner review is skeptical; there are other coaches I would go to first if I hadn't found local lead generation.
With local lead generation, you don't promote a physical product or course. You don't need to create mountains of content to get a few affiliate clicks. Rather, you create and rank a single website to start, and that website starts generating leads that you sell to small businesses. Your leads do the talking, as you provide sample leads to potential clients. You also remain in complete control- there's no affiliate program guiding your actions. Then, once that site is ranked, you can create another and another- as many as you want, and each is its own individual income stream.

I wanted to look into identities that aren't necessarily linked to arcades as I think it is still important to see what Is out there in terms of successful identities but also to give me different forms of inspiration. I also love identities and how the visual language is translated throughout, and that is why I am doing the project I am.
Atlantic Theatre Identity by Paul Scher, Pentagram

"The visual language of each new season has been defined by a simple but striking arrangement of type and form, by a change of colour and the introduction of secondary elements. Much like Public Theater in New York, also designed by Paula Scher and team, the graphic identity is reconfigured over time. Identity becomes an incrementally evolving expression, rather than being rigidly codified."
"Paul Scher’s work has been based around expressing Atlantic Theater’s bold and original voice. This vocalisation was given form by way of a central graphic motif that calls to mind the profile of a megaphone or the downward beam of a spotlight. It is joyful, confident and intelligent in its simplicity, duality and relevance, and establishes a strong focal point from which to hold things in and place elements over and around."
I think this is a simple yet effective identity. The shape used throughout is clearly referencing a spotlight. I like the unique way of having it on the sleeve of the program and then when taken out it doesn't have it on. I interpret this as the sleeve is shining light on the programme. I like how this shape is translated into editorial by putting pictures inside it to create more interest and add different colours.

"If you’re on a bus, train or in a noisy Pret, pop in headphones immediately because the only way to experience the remarkable new identity from creative agency Reklamekollektivet is to listen to it. Delivering the branding for the newly opened Kulturhuset (a cultural centre and theatre hosting art, design, and most crucially, music), Reklamekollektivet aimed to capture all the human experiences one can gain at the venue. Home to a range of genres, Kulturhuset called for a system that could move freely between various moods and sounds, and Reklamekollektivet has pulled it off with some kinetic, adaptive typography.
“We know how letters are supposed to look,” says Thomas Birkeland, creative director at Reklamekollektivet. “Their form is imprinted in our minds. So when you see these unexpected letters, you get the sense of something having evolved a lot from its original state, which is exactly what Kulturhuset does for people.” The centre’s identity is typographically driven, featuring both static and mobile iterations that ‘dance’ to music. Thomas explains that the letters were drawn from the ground up to ensure maximum freedom for its visual form when technology was applied, while still remaining legible. “It’s now become Kulturhuset’s very own unique font,” says Thomas, “taking centre stage in the identity.”

1. Belgium approves four-day week and gives employees the right to ignore their bosses after work

Workers in Belgium will soon be able to choose a four-day week under a series of labour market reforms announced on Tuesday.
The reform package agreed by the country's multi-party coalition government will also give workers the right to turn off work devices and ignore work-related messages after hours without fear of reprisal.
"We have experienced two difficult years. With this agreement, we set a beacon for an economy that is more innovative, sustainable and digital. The aim is to be able to make people and businesses stronger," Belgian prime minister Alexander de Croo told a press conference announcing the reform package.
2. Spain makes it a crime for pro-lifers to harass people outside abortion clinics

Spain has criminalized the harassment or intimidation of women going for an abortion under new legislation approved on Wednesday by the Senate. The move, which involved changes to the penal code, means anti-abortion activists who try to convince women not to terminate their pregnancies could face up to a year behind bars.
3. House passes bill to federally decriminalize marijuana

The House has voted with a slim bipartisan majority to federally decriminalize marijuana. The vote was 220 to 204.
The bill, sponsored by Democratic Rep. Jerry Nadler of New York, will prevent federal agencies from denying federal workers security clearances for cannabis use, and will allow the Veterans’ Administration to recommend medical marijuana to veterans living with posttraumatic stress disorder.
The bill also expunges the record of people convicted of non-violent cannabis offenses, which House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer said, “can haunt people of color and impact the trajectory of their lives and career indefinitely.”
4. France makes birth control free for all women under 25

The scheme, which could benefit three million women, covers the pill, IUDs, contraceptive patches and other methods composed of steroid hormones.
Contraception for minors was already free in France. Several European countries, including Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway, make contraception free for teens.
5. The 1st fully hydrogen-powered passenger train service is now running in Germany. The only emissions are steam & condensed water.

Five of the trains started running in August. Another nine will be added in the coming months to replace 15 diesel trains on the regional route. Alstom says the Coradia iLint has a range of 1,000 kilometers, meaning that it can run all day on the line using a single tank of hydrogen. A hydrogen filling station has been set up on the route between Cuxhaven, Bremerhaven, Bremervörde and Buxtehude.
6. Princeton will cover all tuition costs for most families making under $100,000 a year, after getting rid of student loans

In September, the New Jersey Ivy League school announced it would be expanding its financial aid program to offer free tuition, including room and board, for most families whose annual income is under $100,000 a year. Previously, the same benefit was offered to families making under $65,000 a year. This new income limit will take effect for all undergraduates starting in the fall of 2023.
Princeton was also the first school in the US to eliminate student loans from its financial aid packages.
7. Humpback whales no longer listed as endangered after major recovery

Humpback whales will be removed from Australia's threatened-species list, after the government's independent scientific panel on threatened species deemed the mammals had made a major recovery. Humpback whales will no longer be considered an endangered or vulnerable species.
