Meet Meaningful Tree
Meaningful Tree came about in our quest to take proper care of Kevin, our rescue dog. We wanted to make sure that he was receiving the best nutrition possible after suffering from malnutrition and poor gut health.
When we changed up his (and our other fur baby’s) diet with a generous mix of whole foods and high-quality extra virgin olive oil, we noticed their skin and coat health improved. Moreover, their eyes brightened and energy levels increased.
We even noticed their breath smelled better and their stools were firmer.
As such, we wanted to find a way to incorporate EVOO into our pet’s diets. With the help of smart dog-parent scientists, we were able to bond EVOO with Acacia fiber, a naturally occurring prebiotic fiber, to create Super Pet Total Health.
This pet superpowder is designed to provide your furry friend with essential fatty acids and probiotics for optimal gut health and anti-inflammatory support. Our unique blend of ingredients helps promote healthy digestion, regularity and overall well-being.

❝ YOU ARE FLAWLESS. ❞
artist!choso x black!afab!reader
your boyfriend has a tendency to go over the top when it comes to you, so when you express your insecurities, he makes sure to let you know how perfect you are in his eyes.
warnings: chubby reader, supportive boyfriend choso, modern au (no curses/sorcerers), angst to fluff to smut, cunniligus, p in v, unprotected sex (trying for a baby), "draw me like one of your french girls" type shit, shit tons of praise, creampie, pet names, soft dom choso, very subby reader, just a lot of soft sex and affirmation enjoy
it all started when you asked your boyfriend to go get some healthier foods from the grocery store that you had seen on social media. he was vaguely confused since he knew that both you and him didn't really eat healthy, which was fine for him but not for you. while he had a very fast metabolism and also worked out 5 times a week, you barely lifted a finger and would stay home to cook and clean since your work was at home and on a computer.
so, when you started to gain a few pounds over a couple of weeks you realized you needed to do something about it, so you did. whenever choso would go to the gym you would follow him, doing your own little couple workouts and feeling great right after. then you would stop at a restaurant to grab some food before heading home and watching your boyfriend paint while you did work across the room.
after a few more weeks of working out and eating a bit more healthier, you didn't see results at all. yes you felt lighter and you internally were healthier, your body didn't show any ounce of getting smaller. you still had fat around your hips, small rolls that were only visible when you arched, flabby arms and thicker thighs than normal. and while your thighs and arms had more definition now, the fat didn't go away no matter what you did.
so it started to get to a point where you went into bad eating habits, like eating once out of the day and even that meal was only a few hundred calories. by then, that's when your body started to get smaller, since you let it digest the fat instead of the food you were ingesting. choso didn't like how much thought you were putting into your body, since regardless of how you looked he would still love you anyways.
one day, the man you loved more than anything in the world sat you down for a whole-hearted meaning regarding your physical and mental health. he reached out for your hand and looked you dead in the eyes, his own pink ones staring deep into your chocolate brown ones.
"why did you sit me down? is there something you wanna talk about?" you asked, acting oblivious to the fact that you knew exactly what he wanted to talk about. and it was you. "baby, i know something's wrong. you haven't been acting yourself lately, being cautious about what you eat and going to work out with me when you had work to do. is there something you wanna tell me?" he inquired, making you drop your head and small tears form in the corner of your eyes.
"...do you think i'm fat?" your soft voice mumbled, causing his eyes to widen and his face looked taken aback. "...what?" he muttered alongside you. your face picked itself up and there were tears threatening to leave your eyes as you stared at him. "babe, i've gained over 10 pounds in the last month, i've gone up a shirt size and two pants sizes, i've gained fat around my stomach and hips, and i can't even get into bed without feeling like shit because my stomach pokes out more than it ever has. and i'm not even pregnant..." your voice trailed off since tears were falling down your face, causing your beloved partner to wipe them off of your face for you.
choso pressed a small kiss to the top of your head, your crying always upset him and this just absolutely broke his heart. he had never noticed you feeling this way, all those hints from you wanting to get healthier foods to you barely leaving your built-in office because you were afraid to eat. he felt like the worse boyfriend in the world for not noticing sooner, but none of this was his fault. "b-baby..." he couldn't even form words, your sobs had grown even louder from the silence he gave. all he could do was cradle you in his arms, letting you cry out all the frustration he knew you needed to.
his arms were comforting, soft and hard with a mix of muscle and fat, you felt like he was your personal teddy bear. he was always able to give you the hugs you needed and treat you like a princess when he knew you needed it. so, when you felt him wrap his arms around you to let you cry into them, it was so soothing for you. you cried for maybe about a minute until it subsided to soft sniffles and coughs. he rubbed the small of your back the whole time, letting you get nice and comfortable before you wanted to speak.
it took a few minutes but you finally started up at him, mouth quivering just a little as your glossy eyes looked into his softer pink eyes. choso looked back down at you, just staring into those lovely brown eyes he adored since the first time you two had met. his mouth opened, then it closed, then it opened again, and words started to flow out.
"princess, listen to me. you are perfect in every way, shape or form. no matter how much weight you gain or how much you lose, i will love you regardless of your body. i didn't fall in love with you off of pure looks alone, i fell in love with you because we were made for each other," he spoke, grabbing your delicate face with his rough and gentle hands. "we are like peanut butter and jelly," he continued, "syrup on pancakes, ham and cheese sandwiches, we just... click. you are mine and i am yours, nothing will ever change that. you understand love?" he asked you, looking back to see your tears had started back up, but they were happy tears.
you hugged your lover and nodded your head, which he didn't like. so, he softly pulled you away, a hand on your hip while another against your cheek. "words honey, they don't have to be perfect." he sweetly demanded, making you gulp and open your mouth. "i-i... i understand babe. thank you... so much." you smiled, making him kiss the top of your head once more, which elicited a giggle out of you. but, the praise wasn't over just yet.
now that he had calmed you down, he connected your lips, which you immediately melted into. not caring about what the world thought or what the voices were telling you, you had choso, and that's what mattered right now. it was sweet and sensual, conveying all the inter-meaningful and complex emotions the both of you shared within each other, for each other. it was a kiss that signified your love for one another, and it was just that.
until it wasn't.
after the sentimental moments dribbled away, there came the sexual. you started to softly whine as your boyfriend pressed deeper into your lips, pushing your body against the couch the two of you were on right against the armrest. it was comfortable and actually helped your back a little, but his weight was pressing down on you and you weren't that strong. you could handle it however, since he knew how much to hold up so that he wouldn't crush you. his lips were so rough yet had a smoothness to them that was oddly satisfying. you couldn't put your finger on it, it just felt right.
choso pulled away after a couple of seconds, needing to breathe but he didn't connect your lips back. instead, he dropped lower to your jaw, kissing it tenderly making your body tense with arousal. you could feel your heat start to throb from the way your boyfriend touched you, just like he loved you. and he did. "beautiful baby, wonderful girl," he panted, kissing going past your collarbone now and to the clothed part of your chest. he raised your shirt over your head to pull it off, going to your covered tits and massaging them.
"such a perfect body, would be such a great mama," he murmured, fondling the breast tissue in his large hands. you let out soft noises at this, feeling every emotion rise within you due to the pure fact that his words were reaching everywhere but your brain. you believed he loved you but you didn't believe your body was perfect, but he did, and with pride.
his hands traveled lower to your tummy, knowing that you were sucking in so he gave it a soft tap, which caused you to free your stomach. watching all the fat that your belly had gathered made his cock immediately stand up, it was so hot how much you had gained. and, quite frankly, it weighed your body out perfectly, now you were busty in every place and choso would have to fight every man off because he knew how dangerous you were now.
he softly played with the flesh, going a little too close to your womanhood, but he knew exactly what he was doing. that's why he didn't stop, he just kept going. he wanted you to realize how beautiful you were, how god sent your existence was to him and how fucking in love he was. so, he kept going with no intention of stopping. "such a pretty belly, great for holding my kids," he groaned, starting to slowly hump against the couch because of how much he was turned on by you and your body. he was too entranced by you, every action he did showed just that.
he kissed and marked your pudge, causing soft gasps and whimpers to escape you. you were drenching in your panties right now, which choso could see a perfect outline of your pussy lips from where he was. the only reason you weren't wearing shorts was because your shorts felt too suffocating on your thighs, so you wore one of choso's shirts to cover your ass and thighs. which obviously didn't work, since the shirt was now discarded on the floor.
it took him a while to stop, but once he did, he went back to your breasts and unhooked your bra from behind. he let the article of clothing hit the floor before he grabbed one heavy teat, kneading the flesh with his jagged fingertips while you couldn't keep down your noises. you were melting from his touch, everything about him was making you turn into jelly just from his presence alone. no other man could make you feel how choso made you feel, emotionally and physically. he made you feel things that not even god could comprehend, these feelings were so complex and for one person and one person only.
his mouth latched onto your unoccupied tit, sucking and licking the sensitive nub as his other hand pinched and rubbed the other. your nipples were very sensitive so of course this made you even more wet, causing your back to arch into his touch and your throbbing clit to rub against your panties, making you moan out into the air. he could only get harder from here, which caused a wet spot to appear in his underwear. he didn't care though, at least you were both wet together.
"such big tits, good for my babies," he moaned this time, groaning and wincing as he got as much of nothing as he could out of your tit. he would be sucking all the milk out of them when you got pregnant, he couldn't wait for that. he was so obsessed with the idea of getting you pregnant right now, your body was perfect for his children and he wanted you to know that. you would be a wonderful mother and you were both ready for kids, being together since high school and never separating. he wanted you, he wanted to have a family with you, and now was the perfect time.
once choso finished with your chest he moved down to the place you wanted him to, but he completely avoided it to go to your thicker thighs. he kissed and licked all over them, moaning as he did so. "such long and plump thighs, perfect for sittin' on me," he huffed, kissing and marking your legs as he went down. once he finished he moved back up to your heat, kissing the outside of it and licking your clit through your underwear. "such a pretty little pussy, and just for me," he gruffed, using his teeth to tear apart the barrier between his mouth and your cunt, discarding it onto the floor.
after that, he went to town. he grabbed your thighs and held them as he dove nose first into your cunt, licking and sucking around your labia and moving from your clit to your hole. you let out a surprised moan at the fact that he went so fast and ate you like a starved man, which was turning you on even more. he could taste your fluids rushing on his tongue and all he could do was whine and hump the couch, your taste putting him in a trance that he never wanted to get away from. he wanted to taste you on his tongue forever, and he made that obvious in everything he did.
he made it his duty to make sure that you understood that you could feel every bit of his love through how aggressive and hard he was eating you out. he knew that he was going hard but that's what made it fun, that's what made you realize how good of a man your boyfriend was. now you wish he was your husband, but that will change very soon. his messy work on your pussy had you reeling and keening, he knew exactly how to please you and it made you feel so good knowing that he cared this much.
"mm, choso, baby, 'm close," you cooed, grabbing his head and pushing it more into your vagina. he obviously didn't oblige, getting as much of you as he could on his tongue. you came undone a few seconds after that, crying out his name as you covered his face with your fluids. he was surprised how he didn't cream his pants right then and there, but he didn't, which meant he was going to fill you up with all his kin.
he slurped and licked everything he could, some falling around his chin and down his neck. he could feel how you clenched your thighs around him too as you came, which got him even more excited. you were too much for this man, he couldn't contain himself when he was around you. so, after a few minutes of drinking up your juices he freed himself from your grasp, panting like a dog as he stared at you through lustful eyes. his gaze was like a hungry wolf to a poor sheep, you being the sheep in this scenario. he wanted to devour every bit of you, never let you go until all the meat was consumed off your bones.
though, he needed some help as well.
choso grabbed you by under your armpits and picked you up like it was nothing, ultimately making you gasp and blush at the sheer shock of your boyfriend carrying you around like a ragdoll despite your added weight. that made you curl up in his arms as he carried you to your shared bedroom, laying you down on the bed and going to slide off his soaked boxers. his cock sprang out of its prison and hit above his belly button, making you gulp. no matter how much you had taken his cock, the size still shocked you every time. now it was getting serious.
he crawled onto the bed and in between your legs, hooking them up on his shoulders and lining his tip with your quaking hole. you realized how much weight he was actually putting on his shoulders so you tried to move your legs, but he stopped you by holding your calves tightly. "babe, your legs weigh so much less than what i squat. you're not gonna hurt me," he smiled, you about to respond until he shoved his full length deep inside you, your noises sounding like music to his ears.
the thrusts were slow, deep, appreciative of your tight walls and gushing pussy. he would lean down and kiss your lips, softly massaging your skin as his cockhead kept kissing the tip of your cervix. "such a tight fuckin' pussy, my pussy, holdin' my kids," he groaned into the kiss, you responding with a strained noise as he thrusted particularly deep inside you. you loved the dirty talk, it was so good and it had you clenching around him once again. he sucked in his lips at this, wincing and holding back a groan of pleasure.
after a minute of this however, he started to drive inside you a bit faster. you of course didn't complain, you were starting to get close to your 2nd orgasm. choso wasn't close however, despite how much pre-cum was leaking inside you. he wanted to make you cum so many times, splash your insides white with his seed and make you a mother of his children. so, a rough finger pad went to your clit, rubbing it to the speed of his thrusts, which slowly increased with time.
the noise that escaped you was pitiful, making choso's mind churn with thoughts of wanting to just impregnate you so deep that you would be pregnant with triplets, quadruplets even. he looked down at your face, god you were beautiful. lashes fluttering, thick long braids splayed all over the pillow, chocolate brown skin covered in a thin layer of sweat from the pure sex you two were having. he loved how hot you looked like this, your loud moans echoing throughout the room fueling him to go faster.
choso kept your legs up as his heavy balls slammed against your ass, the claps getting louder and louder with each thrust. they were soft yet so aggressive, like something had possessed him to just give it to you dirty. but, you didn't have a single ounce of a complaint, he always did you so right because he knew just how to please you, no other man could.
you were getting closer by the second, his rough thrusts and his fast rubs on your clit were sending you higher and higher. he knew this so he kept going, giving it to you exactly how you wanted it. he praises never stopped though, he kept making you feel good, physically and mentally.
"god, such a good pussy, and just f'me." "such a pretty girl with pretty moans, would make a good mother of my kids." "good girl baby... just keep going back on me like that."
his lips never stopped moving, which was very rare during sex. he wasn't very talkative but he was very vocal, voicing to you every noise you made him express due to you and your wonderful body. it turned you on even more, how much he was talking to you and how good he could talk to you. it had you clenching around him harder, throwing your head back and creaming his cock for the second time that night. he bit his lip and rocked his hips through your orgasm, making your noises grow and grow until they died down.
you didn't even notice choso stall inside you until his cum started to pour into you, thick creamy globs pumping inside you for almost a minute. he groaned and leaned down, panting into your neck as he finished in you. "godddd baby, pussy milkin' me dry, fuck," he moaned, you holding his back and marking it with your nails as he finished.
-----------
after your session was finished (it took all night) you were held in his arms, none of you asleep as your company was enough to keep you awake. however, your boyfriend got a little sneaky idea, so he sat up with you in his arms and looked down at you. "babe, come with me to my art room," he said, not letting you decide as he picked you up, walking over to the art room that was all the way near the garage and into the room next to the garage door.
he sat you down on a chair he had in the room, it was covered in dried paint but it was also covered by a clean towel. he went over to his potter lathe and cleaned it off with a piece of leftover wood he had from a previous project of his. you were confused as to why he was currently setting up his wheel but you didn't question it, you learned that the first year you two were together. also, heads up, but you were both naked and he didn't have anything to wipe his hands off with. but, he had a sink in the room as well, since it was an old bathroom before he revamped it but kept the sink.
he grabbed some clay from on his shelf that he had let sit for almost a week, using his strength to slice it up and smash together. he continued this until he had the perfect amount/consistency, looking back at you with a sweaty face. "baby, can you spread your legs just a little? for this next piece i want it to be inspired by you and how good you look with my kin spilling out of you," he remarked oh so nonchalantly, making you blush extremely but you obliged nonetheless. he smiled and started up his lathe, wetting the clay just a little first before starting to sculpt.
it took a good few hours to get every meticulous crease, every indent and every curve on your gorgeous body and you didn't have to do much but just sit there. the chair had a back so you were fairly comfortable, so you fell asleep in a little under thirty minutes. that was more than enough for him to be able to manipulate your body and turn you every which way he oh so desired.
the piece was done in under three hours to get your exact body shape, the clay in your exact shade of skin tone and he had to carefully take it off the wheel before getting a blow dryer and drying it manually. after it dried he got his little knife and cut all the pieces to get every detail of your body as an exact replica. while you were asleep, he softly grabbed your body to see what he was missing, getting every piece down until it was completed.
when he had finished, it was over five hours worth of work he had done just for you. he would keep this replica of you in his office as a reminder of you, a reminder of how beautiful you were to him and how your body was even better. he let the clay dry as he washed his hands off, drying them with a towel he had left in here before picking you up, carrying you to your shared bed.
he laid you down and laid down right next to you, cradling you in his arms before falling asleep, safe and sound.
"choso, why the fuck is there a replica of me in your art room with your cum comin' out of me?"
"it was a surprise, you weren't supposed to know..."
"surprise for who?"
"...me."
"CHOSO!"

Dear Person who Loves Hating on Veganism,
Not all vegans are white, USian, or wealthy. In fact, those demographics aren't remotely representative of people who practice veganism.
Most vegans aren't obnoxious fucking idiots, and we hate the idiots as much as you. They're just louder, and people see them because they're obnoxious fucking idiots who won't shut the fuck up.
We're very aware of the fact that the agribusiness industry exploits and abuses workers who are disproportionately immigrants and people of color. There's a big overlap between people who are vegan and people who try to buy local produce that we can confirm is made ethically. Unfortunately, this is expensive, and see above point about most vegans not being wealthy.
It's impossible to buy fucking anything these days without it being made by exploited workers. It is possible to avoid buying products that are produced by both worker exploitation and unimaginable cruelty to animals. Harm reduction.
Many of us also try to avoid buying stuff (Palm oil, quinoa, etc) that causes massive ecological harm.
Vegan "replacements" for animal products are not necessary for being vegan.
We know that eating eggs doesn't hurt chickens, that taking wool doesn't hurt sheep, and that eating dairy doesn't hurt the animals it comes from. Those of us who aren't idiots are fine with animal products that come from animals who are well-treated.
The animals that produce eggs, wool, and dairy for mass consumption live in conditions that would be illegal to keep a pet in.
Opinions vary on killing animals for meat if they're otherwise well-treated through their lives.
Eating vegan is straight up cheaper than not as long as you don't insist on buying luxury items to replace every single animal product in your diet.
Plant-based milk is only more expensive than dairy in the USA because of the extent to which the US government subsides the dairy industry.
The amount of meat that USians eat is fucking insane, unhealthy, and ecologically unsustainable. If we enacted laws that required farmers to give their animals the space and care needed for them to be remotely healthy and kept up the current rate of meat and dairy production, something like 70% of the available arable land in the country would be going to animal farming.
Cattle farming is the largest source of methane emissions on the planet. Methane is far more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2. Reducing cattle farming would have a huge impact on global warming.
Humans are not carnivores. We aren't even omnivores, strictly speaking. We are primarily frugivores with a limited ability to digest animal products.
There is no nutritional benefit you get from animal products that is not available from plant-based food. Often, your body will obtain the nutrients more readily and efficiently from plants than from animal products.
The only exception to this I'm aware of is vitamin B12. This is because this vitamin doesn't come directly from plants, but from the soil they grow in, and most plants are washed too thoroughly and grown in unhealthy soil. Vitamin supplements can easily replace this.
There are innumerable health benefits to plant-based diets, even if you aren't fully vegan.
Most of us have pets. Most of us support caring, sustainable animal husbandry.
Whether or not you are vegan, you should, imo, be aware of the reality of how the animals you consume are treated. What you do with that information is your own business.
We would also like to launch PETA into the fucking sun.
Sincerely,
A Vegan Who Is Fucking Tired of This Bullshit.

Gather The Most Helpful Knowledge About Pet Diet And Nutrition
While supplements are beneficial, they should be introduced into your pet’s diet gradually and under the guidance of a veterinarian. This ensures that your pet receives the right amounts and avoids any potential interactions with their current medications or conditions.
Nutritional Completeness: Many dog and cat diets can lack specific nutrients. Supplements ensure that your pets receive a balanced intake of essential vitamins, minerals, and fatty acids, tailored to their unique health needs.
Joint Health: With age or injury, dogs and cats can suffer from joint issues. Supplements containing glucosamine and chondroitin support joint health, reducing pain and improving mobility, which is particularly beneficial for older pets or breeds prone to joint disorders.
Digestive Health: A healthy gut is vital for overall wellness. Probiotics and digestive enzymes promote a balanced digestive system, helping to resolve and prevent issues like diarrhea, constipation, and bloating. Products such as Total Digest from Lots of Love Pet Products are specifically formulated to support the digestive health of dogs and cats.
Immune Support: A robust immune system is critical in helping your pet fend off illnesses. Supplements that include antioxidants and vitamins like C and E can strengthen the immune response, offering an additional layer of protection against various diseases.
Choosing Quality Supplements
It’s vital to choose supplements from reputable sources to ensure they are safe and effective. Companies like Lots of Love Pet Products offer a range of supplements designed specifically for the health needs of dogs and cats, such as felo taurine and felo lysine ensuring that your pets receive high-quality products that are both safe and beneficial.
Supplements for Specific Conditions
Certain conditions require specific supplements:
Joint Supplements for Aging Pets: As pets age, their joints become less flexible and more prone to inflammation. Supplements with glucosamine and chondroitin can alleviate these symptoms, improving their quality of life.
Digestive Enzymes for Pets with Gastrointestinal Issues: For pets with sensitive stomachs, digestive enzymes can make a significant difference. They help break down food more efficiently, reducing gastrointestinal discomfort and improving nutrient absorption.
Omega Fatty Acids for Allergy-Prone Pets: For pets with skin allergies, supplements rich in Omega fatty acids can be transformative. They help soothe irritated skin and improve coat health, reducing the symptoms of allergies.
Conclusion
Pet supplements play a crucial role in the holistic health care of dogs and cats. They provide targeted nutritional support, enhance the immune system, and improve the overall quality of life for your pets. By choosing the right supplements from reputable brands like Lots of Love Pet Products, you ensure that your pets receive the best possible care, tailored to their specific health needs. Decoding the Dog Bowl: A Comprehensive Guide to Canine Cuisine
For our beloved canine companions, mealtime is more than just sustenance; it's a celebration, a moment of pure, unadulterated joy. But what goes into that bowl brimming with kibble or glistening with wet food?
As dog owners, navigating the world of dog food can feel like deciphering an ancient language. Fear not, fellow pawsome pet parents! This comprehensive guide will equip you with the knowledge to make informed decisions about your furry friend's fuel.
Fueling Fido: Understanding a Dog's Nutritional Needs
Unlike their feline counterparts, dogs are not obligate carnivores. They are omnivores, meaning their digestive systems can thrive on a combination of animal and plant-based proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. However, their dietary needs differ significantly from our own. Here's a breakdown of the essential nutrients for a healthy canine diet:
Protein: The building blocks of a dog's body, protein is crucial for muscle development, repair, and overall health. Animal-based proteins like chicken, beef, or fish are generally considered more bioavailable for dogs, meaning their bodies can absorb them more efficiently.
Fats: Fats provide energy and support healthy skin and coat. However, the type and amount of fat are important. Omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids are essential for heart and brain health, while excessive saturated fats can lead to obesity and other health issues.
Carbohydrates: Carbohydrates provide readily available energy for your dog's active lifestyle. Look for complex carbohydrates like whole grains, which offer sustained energy compared to simple carbohydrates like white flour, which can cause blood sugar spikes.
Fiber: Fiber plays a vital role in digestion and gut health. A balanced diet should include moderate amounts of fiber from sources like vegetables and whole grains.
Vitamins and Minerals: Just like humans, dogs require a variety of vitamins and minerals to maintain optimal health. These micronutrients support healthy vision, bones, immune function, and overall well-being.
Beyond the Label: Demystifying Dog Food Marketing
The world of dog food is a crowded marketplace, filled with colorful packaging and enticing advertising claims. But before you get swayed by the latest "superfood" ingredient or adorable cartoon mascot, it's crucial to understand the marketing tactics behind the labels.
Decoding the Ingredients List: The ingredients list on a dog food package is listed in descending order by weight. The first few ingredients should be high-quality protein sources like meat or poultry. Beware of generic terms like "meat meal" or "poultry by-products," which can indicate lower-quality protein sources.
Beware of Marketing Buzzwords: Words like "grain-free" and "holistic" don't necessarily translate to a better diet. Grains can be a valuable source of carbohydrates and fiber, and some dogs may thrive on a grain-inclusive diet. Focus on the overall quality and nutritional profile of the food.
Do Your Research: Don't rely solely on the manufacturer's claims. Research the brand reputation, ingredients sourcing, and independent reviews from veterinary websites and trusted pet organizations.
Choosing the Right Food: Factors to Consider
Every dog is an individual with unique dietary needs. Here are some key factors to consider when selecting the best food for your furry friend:
Age: Puppies require a higher protein content and smaller kibble size for their developing teeth and bodies. Senior dogs might benefit from a food formulated for their declining energy levels and potential joint issues.
Breed: Certain breeds may have specific dietary requirements. For example, large breeds might need food formulated to support healthy bone development, while athletic dogs may thrive on a high-performance diet with increased protein and calories.
Activity Level: Highly active dogs require a food with more calories and protein to fuel their adventures. Less active dogs might do well on a calorie-controlled diet to prevent weight gain.
Health Concerns: Dogs with health conditions like allergies or kidney disease might benefit from a specialized diet formulated to address their specific needs. Always consult your veterinarian before switching your dog's food if they have any health concerns.
The Different Faces of Dog Food: A Breakdown of Options
The dog food aisle can be overwhelming, with a variety of options to choose from. Here's a breakdown of the most common types of dog food:
Kibble: The most popular and convenient option, kibble offers a complete and balanced diet in a dry, shelf-stable form. Choose high-quality kibble with a balanced blend of protein, carbohydrates, fats, and essential nutrients.
Wet Food: Wet food offers a higher moisture content than kibble, which can be appealing to dogs who are picky eaters or have dental issues. However, wet food generally spoils faster and can be more expensive than kibble.
Raw Food: Raw food diets mimic what dogs might eat in the wild, consisting of uncooked meat, bones, organs, and vegetables. While raw food can be beneficial for some dogs, it requires careful planning, portion control, and a commitment to safe handling practices to avoid bacterial contamination.
Homemade Food: Preparing homemade meals for your dog allows you complete control over the ingredients. However, formulating a balanced and nutritious homemade diet requires consulting with a veterinarian or animal nutritionist to ensure your dog gets all the essential nutrients they need.
Beyond the Bowl: Supplements and Treats
While a high-quality dog food should provide all the essential nutrients your dog needs, there can be situations where supplements are beneficial. Here's a quick overview:
Supplements: Fish oil supplements can be a good source of omega-3 fatty acids for skin and coat health. Joint supplements may be helpful for older dogs or those with joint problems. Always consult your veterinarian before giving your dog any supplements.
Treats: Treats can be a valuable training tool and a way to show your dog affection. Choose healthy treats made with natural ingredients and limit the amount you give to avoid weight gain.
Making the Switch: Transitioning Your Dog to a New Food
If you're considering switching your dog's food, it's crucial to do so gradually to avoid digestive upset. Here's how to make a smooth transition:
Start Slowly: Begin by mixing a small amount of the new food with their current food over several days. Gradually increase the amount of new food and decrease the amount of old food until they are completely on the new diet.
Monitor for Signs of Discomfort: Pay attention to your dog's behavior and stool quality during the transition. If you notice any vomiting, diarrhea, or loss of appetite, slow down the transition or consult your veterinarian.
Keeping Your Pup Safe: Food Safety Tips for Dog Owners
Dog food safety is just as important as human food safety. Here are some tips to keep your furry friend safe:
Proper Storage: Store dry dog food in an airtight container in a cool, dry place. Discard any expired food.
Cleanliness: Wash your dog's food and water bowls regularly with hot soapy water.
Raw Food Handling: If you feed your dog a raw food diet, handle the ingredients with care to avoid cross-contamination with human food. Wash your hands thoroughly after handling raw meat.
The Final Scoop: Choosing the Right Food for Your Dog
Selecting the right food for your dog is an investment in their health and well-being. By understanding their nutritional needs, deciphering dog food labels, and considering your dog's individual factors, you can make an informed decision that fuels their playful spirit and keeps them tail-wagging happy for years to come. Remember, when it comes to your dog's diet, consult your veterinarian for personalized guidance, and never hesitate to ask questions.
A Watchful Protector: For The Progression Of The Ages
Mastiffs, gentle giants with ancient roots, come in various breeds. Loyal guardians with calm temperaments, they require ample space, training, and experienced owners due to their size and strength. Though some breeds have wrinkles, all Mastiffs offer a lifetime of devotion.

These past few years, I have become a huge advocate for feeding fresh food to dogs to enhance their lives. However, you don't exactly have to transition your dog to a 100% fresh food diet in order to gain the benefits of fresh food.
Simply adding fresh food to your dog's kibble can go a long way in improving their nutrition and overall health. For instance, one study done a group of dogs in 2005 revealed that feeding vegetables just three times a week had significantly lowered their risk of developing cancer, compared to dogs who were only fed kibble.
Asian markets, in particular, have some very beneficial fresh food items that aren't typically found at your local grocery store. These food items, however, are not intended to fully replace your dog's food. Remember - too much of something good can be bad for you.
Instead, they should be offered in moderation as treats, or just small amounts topped over an already complete and balance meal. As a general rule of thumb, treats/toppers should never make more than 10% of your dog's overall diet.
Bok choy (Chinese cabbage) is full of essential vitamins and minerals needed to support a dog’s eyesight, cardiac function, digestion, bone strength, and immunity. Sulfurophane - a compound found in bok choy and other cruciferous vegetables - has been linked to inhibiting cancer cell growth, lowering blood pressure, and activating the nuclear factor Nrf2 which prevents the development of diabetes and its complications. Bok choy’s low calorie, high fiber content also make it a good option for a snack/food topper for dogs who need to control their weight.
Preparation: Lightly steam or boil for better nutrient absorption. Cooking will also help neutralize the enzyme (myrosinase) that can decrease thyroid function. You should also chop/trim their long leaves to avoid choking hazards.
Goji berries (wolfberries) are rich in amino acids, carotenoids which support healthy vision, and polyphenols that have anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and cardio-protective properties. Studies on goji berry supplementation in animals have shown that it has the potential to help lower cholesterol, protect the liver by increasing hepatic antioxidant activity, as well as enhance metabolic homeostasis and prevent diabetes-induced renal inflammation.
Preparation: Remove stems if still attached and cut/mash berries. If dried, soak in water until softened to avoid passing straight through the GI tract and losing the benefits of its nutrients.
Offal refers to the internal organs and variety meats of animals that can be consumed as food (i.e. lung, heart, kidney, liver, gizzard, head, feet, etc.) The word 'offal' literally translates to "fall off", and thus, whatever falls off the skeleton during the butchering process. Offal is densely loaded with essential vitamins, minerals, proteins, and fats - so small amounts go a long way. Pet owners who use these as ingredients as part of a complete and balanced recipe should keep in mind that each organ is unique in its nutrient profile - dependent on the animal it is sourced from and how it is raised. For example, grass-fed beef may contain less fat yet more vitamin A and E than grain-fed beef, and beef liver has significantly more vitamin A and copper than chicken liver.
Preparation: Boil in water or low-sodium broth. May also be baked or dehydrated into jerky treats.
Oyster mushrooms are a good source of protein and fiber, and vitamins that support healthy digestion. They can help to increase satiety and maintain healthy body weight. Oyster mushrooms are also full of pantothenic acid which help to maintain cognitive function and healthy skin/coat. Beta-glucans derived from oyster mushrooms have also been shown to reduce inflammation and strengthen immunity.
Preparation: Lightly sauté or boil in water or low-sodium broth. Raw or dried mushrooms can be difficult for dogs to digest.
Purple sweet potato (Ube or Okinawan sweet potato) are typically found in grocery stores more commonly during the fall/winter seasons. They contain more antioxidants than regular sweet potatoes due to the anthocyanins that cause their violet hue. While all potato varieties may impact blood sugar levels because of their high carbohydrate content, purple potatoes may exert less of an effect because of their high polyphenol content that decreases the absorption of starches in the intestines. In addition, they have been linked to improving blood pressure, likely due to their high potassium content.
Preparation: Peel skin and bake until soft for better digestibility and to prevent intestinal blockages. May be boiled and drained to reduce oxalate intake for dogs with a history of bladder stones, or prone to urinary issues.
Quail eggs are small, yet packed with protein and essential fatty acids, and have a higher ratio of iron, riboflavin, and vitamin b12 than chicken eggs. It is even safe and can be beneficial to feed them with the shells included for added calcium. Quail eggs have been linked to improving bone growth/healing, reducing liver damage, and increasing energy levels. While some studies have shown evidence of quail eggs treating allergies in humans and mice, they may be less likely to trigger reactions than chicken eggs in dogs who have poultry sensitivities.
Preparation: Wash thoroughly, and handle gently as they are more fragile due to their tiny size. Cooking methods are similar to that of chicken eggs, yet require less time.
Sardines contain all the amino acids your dog needs for optimal health, making it a "complete protein". They are also notorious for being rich in omegas and coenzyme q-10, which help support heart and brain health. What sets sardines apart from other fish, too, is that they are smaller and more short-lived species than larger predator fish and may have less of a risk for mercury poisoning. Because they are so small and have soft bones, you can feed them whole to your pets.
Preparation: Bake or dehydrate. If already purchased as dried, be sure to make sure there is no added salt or seasonings. If canned, preferably those stored in water only.
Sushi rice (Japanese sticky rice) has a high proportion of starch and moisture, giving it a stickier texture when cooked. Sushi rice has virtually zero fat, yet still provides a desirable balance of nutrients while remaining gentle on a dog’s digestive tract. Its higher iron content than regular rice supports healthy blood circulation and can provide more energy to dogs who are recovering from illness. Cooling/refrigerating the rice before serving also enables more retrogradation of prebiotic fiber, helping to lower glycemic responses and maximize intestinal function.
Preparation: Rinse thoroughly and soak in water (with 1tbsp apple cider vinegar - optional) before cooking. If you don’t have a rice cooker or instant pot, boil on the stove until the water is completely absorbed. May be cooked with bone broth for added flavor. You can also use small amounts of beet root powder, turmeric, or blue spirulina to add color and nutrients.

Let's Talk About Degrees — the Pedigree!
Hello Shih Tzu buddies!
Time for a heart-to-heart about something crucial – what keeps our little buddies wagging their tails? We're diving into the world of Dog Food, in this case the famous Pedigree brand. And trust us, it's not just any dog chow – it's a game-changer, especially for our Shih Tzus.
Pedigree has been a reliable name in the dog food game, and it's earned that reputation for a reason. Dedicated Pedigree customers have said that, even after experimenting with other brands, their dogs in particular choose Pedigree more often their own. With a history steeped in providing top-notch dog nutrition, they have a keen understanding of what our furry friends need. What makes Pedigree stand out is its dedication to tailoring nutrition for different breeds, making it an excellent option for our Shih Tzus.
Their Small Dog Complete Nutrition formula, in particular, caught our eye. Its’ formula boasts a blend of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals that support overall health. And let's not forget the Omega-6 fatty acids for a shiny coat and a special fiber blend for healthy digestion – two things our Shih Tzus absolutely adore!
For those who love digging into the nitty-gritty details, Pedigree breaks it down on their website [https://www.pedigree.com/dog-care-articles/6-ways-help-your-small-dog-live-large]
Of course, different individuals have different experiences, and it's no different when it comes to pet food brands like Pedigree. We've come across diverse feedback, and it's important to acknowledge that not everyone might share the same perspective on Pedigree. Choosing the right pet food involves a bit of trial and error, as well as paying attention to your pet's individual response to different brands and formulations. Remember, as responsible pet owners, it's crucial to recognize that what works wonders for one pet may not necessarily be the perfect fit for another.

Hello! Love your blog! Any advice for those trying to reduce their PCOS symptoms like weight gain/bloating, painful menstruation, etc.
hi👋🏾 thank you. My advice depends just on how much a person is willing to do to. For example, some people are willing simply to do what's necessary to reduce symptoms, not to overcome them altogether. Unfortunately, a fair number of people have difficulty in seeing the real bliss in treating their bodies well because we've been taught so many ways to hurt and damage our bodies. Also, investing in your health removes you from following the status quo.
(This is not medical advice by the way. I'm not claiming to offer any treatments or cures either. I am not a medical physician. I do holistic medicine and herbalism).
Anyway, PCOS is no different to many other issues in overcoming its systems because it comes from the cause of too much obstructions in the body. You will best support your body by cleaning up your diet (one of the major causes of obstructions in our lives, which is why so many illnesses are diet and lifestyle-related aka epigenetic), reducing stress, increasing bliss, and direct herbal intervention.
Cleaning up the diet: I would help someone with transitional menus following the guidelines of The Mucusless Diet Healing System. This will include progressively moving away from health-threatening foods at a pace which will allow mind-body-spirit alignment. So, it will allow one to really feel comfortable in making healthy choices for meals. "Cold turkey" methods are not often sustainable most times. Those with PCOS especially should make a permanent transition away from meat, dairy, eggs, regular use of oils, and regular eating of junk foods and highly processed foods. Those kinds of foods do not eliminate effectively and create a negative environment in the digestive tract (for example, this is why eliminating dairy will alleviate a lot of skin issues. The digestive tract is often a mirror for the skin). If I am able to work with someone to the point of centering their foods around fruit and vegetables (esp the leafy greens), the most amazing changes happen because the body will be supported in properly eliminating all the crud and obstruction from the lymph, tissues, and colon which are shifting the hormones out of balance. This is the difference between reducing and overcoming imbalances in the body.
Reducing stress: This one is key for PCOS because hormonal/reproductive issues are placed under strain by nervous tension. It would be good to start with a gentle & inspiring morning routine and a soothing nighttime routine to get out of the cycles of stress. A diet rich in whole plant foods will also help stress management (via the gut-brain connection/microbiome). Other actions towards stress reduction should eventually be practiced, such as singing, spending time in meaningful hobbies/flow states, inner work activities (to improve emotional intelligence), meditation & mindfulness, breathwork, sound healing, getting into nature, playing with a pet, and more laughter.
Increasing bliss: This overlaps a bit with the previous point. But this is particularly focused on nurturing self-care. Often, individuals with PCOS have trouble really focusing on investing in their health. It's best to focus on overturning self-destructive habits, which may be seemingly innocuous things, such as approaching most things in life with intensity, from one's career to exercise to even meditation. Taking an hour or two daily for doing absolutely nothing, or learning to live in a more sacred manner (if one is spiritually inclined) can bring you towards a deep friendship and respect with yourself.
Direct Herbal Intervention: The fruits and vegetables will be the most key herbs in this scenario. But additional herbs can certainly be used. I will not list any here because many of my go-tos will not suit everyone, especially if they have overlapping health issues. But I would want to support the liver, lymphatic flow, and nerves/emotional states. Flower essences (which are safe for everyone) are also great here for helping to relieve the psychological influences on the issues, such as resolving traumas and other blockages which would serve as blockages to implementing these lifestyle changes. Self-heal would be a nice choice, or whatever else one is intuitively drawn towards.
Thanks for asking! I hope I was able to help you😊🌼 signed, Lili

Is Sourdough Bread Good for Weight Loss? - A Healthier Choice
Sourdough bread, a staple in many cultures for centuries, has recently seen a resurgence in popularity. But beyond its unique taste and texture, there’s growing interest in its potential health benefits, particularly regarding weight loss. This report delves into the making of sourdough, its health and fermentation benefits, nutritional profile, and expert opinions to answer the question: Is sourdough bread good for weight loss?
Tea Burn™ Breakthrough in Weight Loss Support
Making of Sourdough
Sourdough’s simplicity is one of its key attractions. Traditionally, it’s made from just three ingredients: flour, water, and salt. This simplicity is a stark contrast to many commercially produced breads that contain a plethora of additives. The slow fermentation process of sourdough, where natural yeasts and bacteria interact with the dough, is what sets it apart. This process not only imparts a distinct tangy flavor but also influences the bread’s health properties.
Odd Water Secret Melts Stubborn Fat
Sourdough Health Benefits
Sourdough’s health benefits are closely tied to its fermentation process. Priya Tew, an award-winning dietitian, explains, “Genuine sourdough bread can be more easily digested and can be lower in glycemic index than some shop-bought bread.” This lower glycemic index means sourdough doesn’t spike blood sugar levels as sharply as other breads, which is a crucial factor in weight management.
Gut Health: The fermentation process increases prebiotic and probiotic-like properties, which can improve gut health. Sourdough made with whole grains offers additional fiber, enhancing these gut-friendly benefits.
Digestion: Sourdough might improve the digestion of gluten due to changes in wheat enzymes during fermentation. While not suitable for people with celiac disease, those sensitive to gluten might find sourdough easier to digest.
Healthy Aging: Sourdough, a staple in the Mediterranean diet, is linked to healthy aging. It has antioxidant, anti-hypertensive, anti-diabetic, and FODMAP-reducing qualities.
Shrink X™ Powerful Pet Probiotic Formula
Sourdough Fermentation Benefits:
The fermentation process in sourdough bread leads to an increase in prebiotic and probiotic-like properties, which are beneficial for gut health. A 2021 review in the journal Microorganisms highlights this, noting that these properties help improve gut health. Additionally, the fermentation process enhances the bioavailability of nutrients like calcium, phosphorus, and iron, making them more accessible to the body.
Nutritional Profile:
A slice of sourdough bread typically contains about 84 calories, 16 grams of carbohydrates, 1 gram of fiber, 3 grams of protein, and 1 gram of total fat. Laura Tilt, a registered dietitian, points out, “White sourdough is a source of carbohydrates, calcium, iron, vitamin B1, and B3, forming part of a healthy diet.” However, she advises opting for wholewheat varieties for higher fiber content.
Facts about Sourdough Bread
Historical Popularity Surge: Sourdough’s recent popularity isn’t just a modern trend. Its global market value skyrocketed from $298.7 million to a staggering $2.4 billion in 2018. This surge reflects a growing awareness and appreciation of sourdough’s unique qualities and health benefits.
Enhanced Taste with Health Benefits: The fermentation process in sourdough not only contributes to its health benefits but also enhances its taste. Priya Tew notes that fermentation produces amino acids that add extra flavor, despite a decreased salt content in the bread. This means you get a tasty bread that’s also good for you.
B12 Enrichment: The fermentation of plant-based foods like sourdough can lead to the enrichment of vitamin B12. This is particularly noteworthy since B12 is typically associated with animal-based foods, making sourdough a valuable addition to vegetarian diets.
Impact on Blood Sugar Levels: Sourdough bread’s fermentation process results in a lower glycemic index compared to regular bread. This means it has a less dramatic impact on blood sugar levels, making it a smarter choice for those managing diabetes or looking to maintain stable energy levels throughout the day.
Variety in Sourdough Types: The diversity of sourdough bread is vast. From traditional white sourdough to wholewheat and rye varieties, each type offers different nutritional benefits. For instance, rye sourdough is known for its higher fiber content, while traditional white sourdough is fortified with essential vitamins and minerals.
Expert Opinion of Sourdough Bread on Weight Loss:
Experts agree that sourdough can be part of a weight loss diet. Tilt reminds us, “All foods can be part of a weight loss diet; it’s about balance and portion size.” She suggests pairing sourdough with nutrient-dense foods like eggs or nut butter for a balanced meal. The high fiber content in sourdough, especially in wholegrain varieties, is linked to feeling full for longer, which is beneficial for weight management.
Promote Deep Sleep and Relaxation

Does the type of flour used in sourdough affect weight loss?
Yes, the type of flour affects the nutritional content of sourdough bread. Wholegrain flours are higher in fiber and nutrients compared to refined flours, making them a better choice for weight loss.
Is sourdough bread gluten-free?
No, traditional sourdough bread is not gluten-free as it is made from wheat flour. However, the fermentation process can break down some of the gluten, making it easier to digest for those with mild gluten sensitivities, but it is not suitable for individuals with celiac disease.
Life Extension GEROPROTECT Stem Cell
Sourdough bread, with its unique fermentation process and nutritional profile, offers several health benefits that can support weight loss goals. Its lower glycemic index, coupled with a higher fiber content, especially in wholegrain varieties, makes it a healthier choice compared to many other breads. While sourdough alone isn’t a magic bullet for weight loss, it can be a valuable part of a balanced and nutrient-rich diet. Variety and moderation are key to a healthy diet and effective weight management.

The Ultimate Guide to the Best Food for Dogs
Introduction
As responsible pet owners, ensuring the health and happiness of our furry friends is paramount. One of the key contributors to a dog's overall well-being is their diet. Just like humans, dogs require a balanced and nutritious diet to thrive. In this comprehensive guide, we delve into the world of canine nutrition, exploring the best food for dogs that not only tantalizes their taste buds but also promotes optimal health.
Understanding Canine Nutrition
Before we dive into the specifics of the best food for dogs, let's understand the basics of canine nutrition. Dogs, being omnivores, require a mix of proteins, fats, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals for a well-rounded diet. The key lies in providing a balanced combination to meet their unique nutritional needs.
Protein Power: The Foundation of a Dog's Diet
Protein is the building block of a dog's diet. It aids in muscle development, supports a healthy coat, and plays a crucial role in various bodily functions. When selecting the best food for your dog, prioritize options rich in high-quality proteins such as lean meats, fish, and eggs.
Essential Fats: Nourishing From Within
Healthy fats are essential for a dog's overall well-being. They contribute to skin health, promote a shiny coat, and support cognitive function. opt for dog foods that contain sources of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, like fish oil and flaxseed, to ensure your furry friend's vitality.
Carbohydrates: The Energy Source
While dogs don't require carbohydrates in large quantities, they play a vital role as an energy source. Whole grains, vegetables, and fruits can provide the necessary carbohydrates without compromising nutritional value. Look for dog foods that incorporate these elements to keep your pet active and energetic.
Tailoring the Diet to Your Dog's Needs
Every dog is unique, and factors such as breed, age, size, and health condition should influence their dietary choices. Consult with your veterinarian to determine the best food for your dog based on their specific requirements. Whether it's a playful puppy, an active adult, or a senior companion, there's a perfect diet for every stage of life.
