Batman: If you want to trade information for cigarettes I'm sure there are many prisons with the same kind of arangements.
Gordon: If I wanted advice I wouldn't take it from the guy that jumps off buildings, now do you want to know what we got or are you gonna nag me too?
Because Barbara tracks his credit card, fitbit, and hacks his medical records to force him to be healthier, Gordon's taken to having Batman sneak him burgers and cigarettes during Batsignal meetings.

Bruce actually being able to hold a baby for the first time.
Not a 'baby' who was already over 7 years old with their own dreams of going out and becoming something, not a 'baby' who whines playfilly whenever papa kisses his forehead. No, a baby that loves the warmth of their father, a baby that gurgles and giggles whenever playing peekaboo, a baby that stares at their dad with such wide eyes filled with adoration.
That kind of baby.
ohohohoho you're gonna make me cry- gimme a second this is beautiful
Bruce hadn't realized, at the time, when Zatanna had approached him, the old, dangerous book he had confiscated and given to her for safe keeping years prior, clutched in her hands, that she would chose him. Or now.
The room was cramped, small. A cruddy apartment if he had ever seen one. But, it was home. Or it would be. For about nine years. Nine miserable years. It would be five more years before Bruce found him.
Bruce leaned down, slowly, head peering into the small cupboard drawer that had been pulled out and stuffed with blankets to make a make-shift crib. Blue eyes, painfully familiar, blinked up at him.
"Hello." Bruce breathed down at his son. At Jason Todd. The baby smiled, his little lips pulling away to show his gums, a tiny toothless grin. "Hello my baby." Bruce murmured, gently reaching down to lift his son into his arms. "Hello,"
Jason gurgled with pleasure at being held, curling further against Bruce's chest, his little legs jerking to exude the strength of his joy. Bruce's arms tightened around his son, rocking gently back and forth. "Well aren't you a sweetheart?" Bruce murmured, something in his heart healing at the feel, the sight, the smell of the little baby in his arms.
This was not the Jason he would later adopt. This was not the Jason who followed his mother into the Joker's trap. And this was not the Jason that pulled himself out of the grave and went on a killing spree of revenge. Not yet.
Bruce didn't know what to do. Jason... he and Jason were complicated. Maybe that was why Zatanna had gifted him this. A glance at the past. A view of how things could have been. Maybe an attempt to show him how it could've been easier if he'd had Jason from the very beginning. But Bruce didn't want easier.
He cradled his little boy to his chest, running a hand through his baby's soft black curls. "You will have to suffer so much, my son." His voice broke and he clutched his boy, silent tears escaping his eyes. "And I'm sorry that I can't save you from it."
Bruce's arms tightened, and he pulled away, moved so that he could look at his son. At his baby boy. Jason giggled, a wide, easy, baby smile pulling across his face again. Bruce's heart constricted. "I don't want easy." He breathed, gently lowering his child into the drawer again, though it hurt him with every step he took away. "I just want you."
okay because I just love this too much I'm doing more-
There was no sound from the bedroom. It had gone silent moments ago. Bruce was wearing a hole in the floor. "Master Bruce." Alfred scolded, though there was no real heat behind it. "You're going to wear out my nice rug." Bruce offered him an apologetic wince, but continued pacing.
"Bruce?" Steph poked her head out of the bedroom door. "Yes?" He swiveled so fast the rug twisted under his feet. Alfred let out a little sigh. She smiled. "You can come in now."
Bruce almost ran her over with the speed with which he practically ran into the room, but froze once he breached the door. Dick Grayson-Wayne, his eldest son, his biggest failure and his greatest success, smiled at him dazedly from where he was sitting half on the bed. "It's a boy."
His other children were littered around the room as well, Jason perched on the chair next to his brother, Tim standing by the window, Cass at his side, Steph now behind him, Duke sitting cross-legged on the floor, Damian across from him. Barbara Gordon-Wayne, his happy wife and finally legally Bruce's daughter, smiled too, the main attraction, laying in the center of the bed. "It is." She confirmed.
Dick waved a hand, indicating him closer as he kept his arm wrapped around his no longer pregnant wife. Bruce approached slowly, every movement cautious. Babs smiled at him. "I won't bite." She promised. "Not anymore." Dick agreed, massaging his hand slightly. She smacked his side and he grinned, not moving away for a second.
Bruce had to smile. Fatherhood suited his son. In a way it would never suit him. As though reading his thoughts, because she had always been good at that, Barbara gestured him to her side. "Do you want to hold him?" She asked quietly.
Bruce's heart stumbled. "H-hold him? Me??" He stuttered. "No the other dude behind you." Jason snorted. Babs smacked his head.
Dick smiled. "Yeah B. Hold him. He's your grandson after all." Bruce reached for the bundle in Barbara arms slowly, and Dick placed a steadying hand on his arm to calm his shaking. "Its alright," Barbara soothed. "Just keep your hands there and support his head-" She smiled. "Just like that."
Bruce hardly dared to breathe, much less move, as the little baby squirmed, eyes blinking open slowly. "He's beautiful." He breathed, air finally entering his lungs. Dick looked up from where he had been quietly murmuring things to his wife to make her smile. "Thanks. He's got his mothers good looks." Barbara touched his arm fondly. "And his daddy's eyes."
Bruce rocked gently, gasping as the baby stretched, his little arms reaching above him before settling back down again, his tiny hand holding Bruce's thumb. "Did ya hear that?" Dick whispered, leaning against Bruce's side. "He's got his daddy's eyes." Dick winked at his son, blowing him a gentle kiss.
"He's got our eyes Dad." Tim said quietly, joining them. Bruce let out a sound that might have been a strangled cat sob. Steph snorted from Barbara's other side, but her eyes weren't dry either.
"What are you going to call him?" Damian asked, leaning forward to stretch more. Dick smirked. "Well he's probably gonna get called lots of things." He pointed out. Barbara sent him a look as Cass laughed. "I know I'm calling him Robin for sure." Barbara added. Bruce looked up.
She shrugged. "I've got to continue the scolding "robin!" tone. I just don't think it works so well with other names." Tim, Damian, Dick, and Steph flinched. Duke laughed. "You can say that again." A smile curled the edges of Bruce's lips.
"Well if that's all you're going off of you may as well call him Batman too." Jason pointed out. Steph high fived him. Barbara looked at Dick. "Speaking of..." Dick nodded, clearing his throat. "Right. Well, actually Dad, we were thinking of calling him... Bruce."
Every muscle in Bruce's body went taunt and loose all at once. "Af- after me?" He choked out, looking at his son in surprise before turning to Barbara. She nodded in confirmation, smiling gently. "Actually, after Bruce Dickinson, gotta keep the Dick name alive- of course after you." Dick rolled his eyes, bouncing on the balls of his feet in delight.
Babs smiled. "We wanted to name him after the biggest inspiration in Dick's life. You." Bruce raised an eyebrow at that. "Only him?" Barbara smiled back sweetly. "My greatest inspiration is my father." Bruce bowed his head. "Of course." "Like he hasn't practically adopted you too at this point." Jason grumbled, smiling sweetly at the look she sent him.
"Am I not enough?? What do you mean "only him"???" Dick balked in outrage. Tim laughed and Cass coughed into her fist. Bruce rolled his eyes. "I'm honored chum, truly." Dick's eyes softened, his false outrage disappearing. "Good. We went through a lot of names before we settled on Bruce. Like a lot." Bruce rolled his eyes again.
"Glad to be thought of." He remarked dryly. Babs winked. "Of course. You were just after.... how many was it? Two hundred?" She asked her husband. "Sounds like too few." He corrected. Bruce scoffed, tuning out the discussion of possible names they would have used over his, each more outlandish than the last, and focused his eyes on the little baby in his arms. ("Garkfunkel!" Steph called. "Edelwink" Jason added. "Cinnamon." Duke chimed. "Phelony!" Tim yelled with glee. "Kevin." Dick joined. "Ewwww!" The others chorused back. "That was an actual suggestion he made." Barbara revealed. Dick scoffed, affronted. "You guys just don't know good names." "Sure Dick." Jason agreed.) "Hello little Bruce," He whispered. Baby Bruce opened his eyes and yawned, blue eyes sparkling in the morning light. "You are so loved little man." Bruce whispered. He glanced up at the kids around him, his full house, and smiled. "Just like your namesake."
