The showdown of Sam and Diana in Seduce Me 1, as performed by Damien (he/they), someone who chose their name from a different character in this game.

This game means a lot for me. The works of Ms. Michaela Laws mean a lot to me. While Damien means a lot for me, Sam and Diana's characters are just so well written and cared for, and I felt a lot more confident to show how I voice them.

(Yes, I hope to work up the courage to show how I try to perform Damien. Today's not that day.)

An Unpopular SEDUCE ME Opinion

I’ve been doing a lot of deep-dives into the Seduce Me fandom as of late. (I should be reading Sylvia Plath, but that’s beside the point.) This includes appreciating art, reading fanfiction, looking into the voice actors’ other work, prowling the wife characters’ Tumblr pages, sifting through some of Michaela Law’s game-related Q&A’s, and watching a few let’s plays. While doing all that, I discovered something surprising: a lot of players fell in love with Diana by the end of Demon War. I found this surprising, as Diana is probably my least favorite character. I like the human friends. I like the incubois. I like the generals. I love the wives. I like Saero and Mirth. Regardless of what they are—human, demon, witch, angel, hybrid—these characters are very human, making them relatable and likable. I never made that connection with Diana. I love her as a villain in the first game. Even her romantic route showed her in a more intriguing light. In the second game, however, she is placed on a pedestal. She is overpowered and over-hyped. Diana is made out to be perfect, all at the cost of every other characters’ and her own development. We the audience are forced to side with Diana. If we don’t, the consequences are unfavorable to say the least.

Before going into detail as to why Diana is my least favorite character, let’s talk about why fans adore her. There is a great deal to love about Diana as a character. For starters, she is a perfect allusion to Michael Jackson’s song “Dirty Diana” and it works so well in the context of the game. The lyric “[Y]ou seduce every man / This time you won’t seduce me” deals with her always using her charisma to get what she wants, but not being able to convince the incubi to leave when they first meet. “She waits at backstage doors / For those who have prestige / Who promise fortune and fame / A life that’s so carefree” connects to how Diana goes after the four brothers who have legitimate ties to the throne. She offers everything a demon could possibly want: “I’ll be your night lovin’ thing / I’ll be the freak you can taunt / And I don’t care what you say / I want to go too far / I’ll be your everything / If you make me a star.” The lyric “She said he’s not coming back / Because he’s sleeping with me” may refer to how Diana proposes having sex with Damien in order to grant him his humanity. We love a pop culture reference.

The best part about the Seduce Me games is that your choices actually matter. Including the story of “The Little Mermaid” in-game and having it all come to fruition in Demon War hammers home that all actions have consequences that we have to stand by. It also emphasizes how there is, in fact, more than one side to every story. This leads to the most powerful aspect of Diana: her backstory. This princess has done everything for the sake of her kingdom. She has given up any chance of true love in order to prepare for a life of unknowns. When Diana sees a chance to track the incubi down, she takes it. When she returns home empty-handed, she finds her kingdom in flames and her family slaughter. I believe Diana resonates with many other players because she shows persistence in the face of impossible odds. She is the Rebel Queen, a pure-blooded succubus, and one of the most powerful demons in the Abyssal Plains. She was made to be iconic. I admire her strength and have empathy for her situation. Even still, Diana is an overpowering presence and lacks proper development.

The fact that Diana is the most present character in the second game really soured my impression of her. She shows up more than any other character, to the point where it feels like we the player character are tertiary. Most of the time her presence is unneeded. For example, the nightmare sequences in the very beginning of Demon War all have Diana in them in some form or another. Not only does it not make sense, but it takes away from the scene. In the cases of James and Matthew, the nightmares depict terrifying scenes. The two men have completely different personalities, having become cruel and volatile. These scenes should feel uncomfortable and panic-inducing. Instead, we feel some sense of familiarity because Diana is there. Regardless of how tragic her deaths are, she still acts as a anchor to something recognizable and softens the shock. With Damien, the same principle could be applied. Two humans versus a mega-powerful demon is horrifying. With Diana, the situation feels less hopeless. Diana has several moments to shine. She is the Rebel Queen, after all. Pulling her back would have allowed characters like the generals, the wives, or even the incubi further development. But seriously, she's everywhere. She’s in our dreams. She’s making us breakfast. She’s trying to fuck our husband. STOP TRYING TO COCK-BLOCK ME, DIANA! FUCK! 

I’ve played through all of the routes in Demon War now. This means I have trained with everyone I could. I saved training with Diana for my second-to-last option, the last option being Mirth. Beforehand, all I knew about Diana was that she was infected with some sort of demon madness that caused her to lash out when presented with opposition. This lead to the other generals doubting her capabilities and, in some timelines, planning her assassination. When training with Diana, we learn that she has been fighting a darker version of herself. This Dark Diana is the manifestation of the influence of a Muse mixed with her guilt. This influence is what caused her to act as the villain of Seduce Me and why she has a tendency to react with violence and anger in Demon War. Up until this point, I was mildly annoyed with Diana. When that twist was revealed, I was done. By going with an “It wasn’t me! It was my evil twin sister!” plot twist, we lose any growth the character might have had (which is a shame, as she had loads of potential.) Diana wasn’t really mean and nasty. She was influenced by a higher power. Diana’s anger isn’t really her crazy coming out. It’s the physical manifestation of said higher power’s influence. Because of this, Diana is presented as perfect. She has no flaws and always knows best. Regardless of how tragic her backstory is and the actions she took in the past, she is a stagnant character because nothing was the real Diana’s fault. We as the audience are made aware that Diana was never a villain, and anyone who questions her is automatically in the wrong. 

The one thing that could have made Diana a better character would have been to completely drop the madness subplot. Get rid of it. Burn it. That kind of soap opera writing has no place here. Don’t excuse Diana’s behavior from the first game, double down on it. Have her be arrogant and apathetic to those outside of her family. Make Diana own up to her wrong-doings and disregard for others organically. Have her learn the same lesson the main protagonist learns: there are two sides to every story. The consequences for wasting time in the human world resulted in the death of her family. That’s all the cause needed to jump-start a redemption arc. Having Diana fight a war for ten years would give her the opportunity to learn how to be diplomatic instead of demanding. She would have to be more open-minded and careful with her words when addressing allies and recruiting help. She would have to learn that not everyone will bend to her will. Additionally, the generals would see her growth and have little reason to assassinate her in the end (with the exception of Rabbit, perhaps, as that might align with her character.) Allow Diana to be bitter about the hand she’s been dealt, but also allow her to grow out of the role of the scheming princess and into the role of an independent queen.

I have nothing against Michaela Laws, who both wrote and voiced Diana. She’s a talented writer and actor, and has created phenomenal games. If one of my biggest criticisms of a game is that I can’t connect with one of the plethora of characters, that still seems like a pretty solid game. I know Michaela Laws can do good, which is why I think this one misstep sticks out. Having Diana take a small step back from the story, as well as own her transgressions and grow from the consequences, would have been much more satisfying. Sorry Diana, but this time you won’t seduce me.

9- Respects her current boss and colleagues.

I had this thought a couple days ago that there is a lot of things sqq would have mastered by living in an alternate pidw, archery and painting and music and horse riding and hair care and all sorts, but most importantly - wife plot/gay idiots hunt demons plot starters. A lot of fanfic and heist movies and adult 'coming of ages' and all sorts LOVE crossdressing as a trope, and I I do love me a good oblivious gender queer sqq!

He has 100% had to infiltrate a brothel or club or gathering or acted as demon bait at some point in his long life, and with his already lean and pretty figure, his own appearance perfectionist tendencies for the role of sqq, and his husband's refusal to let him out the house looking anything less than stunning, he's put a good effort and practice into it. Nanda parbat (or the other places he studied) is also well versed in disguise as a job. Canonically he uses stage makeup to create other identities, most famously matches malone. SO! By all logic batman would be EXCELLENT at disguising as a woman!

Also in this au I headcanon that cultivators are rarely super muscled, with agility and flexibility also being very important. Think more swimmers and barbarian and lumberjack builds - the muscle isn't for show at all, but some can lift more than the body builders twice their size! Unfortunately for sqq, system demands an imposing presence, and so he fills the bats suit out with fake padding and extra armour and tech. He tucks his long hair in the cowl. It helps emphasise the difference between Bruce Wayne and Batman, and the first time Jason saw him undress after patrol he thought batman was peeling his own skin off lol.

And what that means is he is completely unbothered when a pair of women are needed to infiltrate a club to gather information, and wonder woman is the only one free. She gamely volunteers to go herself, but is vetoed on grounds of safety and efficiency. So then the solution is Martian manhunter but he's off world.

So batman volunteers.

He's met with confusion and disbelief, and for good reason?? He's huge! Buff! Deep voice! Aloof! Batman is a very manly man!

But no, he can do it, are you doubting that he can't? It's fine.

Diana is very excited. Also very curious. Sure, there are amazonians bigger than him, but he is very much a guy and they're not going to a place known for inclusivity.

But despite their misgivings they set a time and place.

And as they're talking, waiting for batman to arrive, a bombshell of a woman walks past. Long dark hair, boobs peeking out of a window, glittery earrings, six inch heels, long and painted nails, big puffy jacket, trousers that flare at the knees, the whole works.

She walks past them again a minute later, and stops. Greets them with a low and sultry voice.

It's batman. Wtf.

Sqq rather thinks he's done a good job with the outfit. The trousers hide his calves, fake boobs are so much more realistic in the modern era, he took his voice changer out. Makeup changes his whole face. He's got contacts and brush through hair due so he doesn't look like Bruce Waynes sister. His voice probably sounds a bit funny but it's close enough! It'll pass!

The group of veteran heroes are choking on their tongues. Diana is delighted.

It's still early days for the league, they're still feeling each other out, seeing if they can trust each other with matters outside of heroism.

For Clark, it's the first of many existential crises.

This has nothing to do with my BatFam & Symbiotic! Reader & Gang, at least until I start writing Bruce x Selina x John Constantine x Barry Allen. But I still want people to know. Just in case

So I was drawing and I was intending to just draw a full body of Mika but then I looked at the body type and thought it was way to “idealized”, I save that for the succubi. But then I thought, “What if Demon Mika?” And so this image was born!

When making the human form, I literally just asked myself “What if Mika’s outfit but sexy?”

There are three ways I can see this image happening.

1) This is the King Sam ending of Seduce Me Demon War

2) This is the “My Kingdom” ending of Seduce Me the Otome

Or

3) This is a swap AU (the intended one) which would bring up the question of what the boys would look like if they were just humans.

Going for the Swapped AU as a concept, this version of Mika is still 25% Angel, just the rest is succubus. She’s the only heir to her kingdom’s throne and her father tried to marry her off to a well off but violent kingdom. She said “Fuck no!” And went to the human world via Harold Anderson. (who I’m tempted to say is the Boys’ grandfather in this timeline) She then proceeded to piss off a devil, nearly die, break into a house and kiss some random dude (Sam) for energy.

That somehow got her a house to stay in with five cute, human boys as roommates.

This version of Mika isn’t unpleasant but she’s a lot less willing to be upbeat as her whole life was practically planned for her and she was not happy about any of it. So you can either have her fall for one of the cute humans she’s rooming with or have her leave and bond with either a beautiful human witch and her assistant (Diana and Saero), one of her demon besties that she can stay with to avoid her parents (Suzu or Naomi) or this other runaway that looks suspiciously like the man she was supposed to marry (Andrew)

So, In my own re write of Seduce me, I put a lot of thought into how exactly the biology of Incubi and Succubi work. It's a known fact that Demons of Lilith are vastly the majority in the Demon world because of their nature to breed. However, in my rewrite I wanna touch on more about how exactly it works in my rewrite and what differences I made.

In my personal rewrite, the incubi’s demon forms are waaaay different. Of course they have their signature horns and Lilith markings, however they gain some of their physical attributes from their other halves. I always found it disappointing that the boys’ demon forms didn’t look more..demon like? Originally it made sense since the first succubus was originally human, so it would make sense that incubi and succubi would look more akin to humans. However, the boys aren’t pure blooded incubi. It makes sense for Diana to look the way she does, but for the boys I feel like there could’ve been much more to their demon forms. Being that Incubi and Succubi have the strong urge to breed, its very common for them to mingle with other demon races. Which means the gene pool can get muddled very quickly.

So because of that, Incubi and Succubi can look vastly different from each other. Of course in canon its much different, having the Lilith gene is the most powerful gene in the demon world. Which is why the boys look more like incubi with almost to no physical Brute attributes or attributes of their other halves. I however changed this because I believe in monster boys that actually look like monsters supremacy.

The Incubi in my rewrite look more like…well demons. I will go into detail about their appearances in a different post since this is more of an overall post on how demon genes work. Of course the Lilith gene is still incredibly strong but it won’t completely write over the other genes if the incubus or succubus aren’t pure blood.

Which is why majority of demons of Lilith use glamours. Let me explain. Among demons of Lilith, there is a huge need for purity. Of course not sexually speaking, but more bloodline wise. Pure blood demons of Lilith are incredibly powerful, being the highest ranking demons of the land. Majority of other incubi and succubi want to be just like them. Diana’s pure bloodline is something that almost every other incubus or succubus is envious over. Blood and power is everything in the demon world. So, to appear more like the first succubus, they glamour themselves to look more akin to her. Getting rid of added traits given to them from their non Demon of Lilith parent or ancestors, only leaving them with the horns and Lilith taint.

Of course this also means that the four succubi queens and their sons also glamour themselves. Not Damien and his mother however, they don’t get that luxury.

Its very rare that the boys show what they truly look like, being that they’ve been glamoured for practically their whole lives. But just because its rare, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t happen. There’s a story that was once told, back in the demon lord’s castle. A servant was sent to fetch a new supply of glamour potions for the eldest since he had just ran out of his own supply. The servants have been commenting on how the eldest had been running out faster and faster but their concerns were quickly brushed aside. Creators' Club: Trivia Tuesday

Originally, Bianca was created to be a human character, working as an assistant under Professor Hojo. In the earliest version of her backstory, she was a scientist specializing in biological research and her relationship with Sephiroth developed in the lab. She was meant to be a sympathetic figure and a duality to Hojo's cruelty, as she always tried to comfort Sephiroth throughout his cruel experiments. Bianca's human origins placed her directly in Shinra's scientific world. She also had a more grounded, intellectual approach to understanding Sephiroth's suffering.

However, as I began to develop her character more around the time of Crisis Core's PSP release to fit that lore in, I realized I wanted her to have a more deeper and powerful connection to Sephiroth and the supernatural elements of the world. It was at this time that the concept of Timeless Souls (an original gothic erotica novel) had began to form: Bianca as a succubus and the love interest of the vampire, Vincent Delecriox. This led me to make a significant change to her backstory: changing her from a simple scientist to a celestial and infernal being, a hybrid. This shift allowed me to explore the internal conflict and complex heritage while intensifying a bond with Sephiroth: an idea of a soul-bond that I had conceived for Timeless Souls and decided to apply it to her relationship with Sephiroth. I feel this change elevated her from a more passive role in the background to someone who could be the main character of her own story and stand on equal footing with Sephiroth in both terms of power and destiny.

When I made this change, I decided to repurpose Bianca's original human backstory for a new character, Diana Ravenscroft. Diana now embodies the role that Bianca once held, but not of one of love and affection towards Sephiroth. Diana embodies the scientist role that Bianca once held but in name only. Diana is cold, calculating, and entirely focused on scientific advancement, making her an antagonist in Fantasy Worlds Collide. She's one of the key figures behind Project N: the project that lead to the exploitation of Bianca Moore. I feel that by allowing Bianca to grow into a complex character, it strengthened her character.

Mika doesn’t know what time it is, or if she even really slept at all. She feels like she’s been thrown off a cliff and landed on rocks with how sore she is. The only thing she can recall is that she had a nightmare. She vaguely recalls a woman in purple and horns, but she isn’t totally sure. It’s all pretty hazy.   

She groans and rubs at her eyes trying to push herself awake. Her whole body is sore, and her limbs feel like anchors as she tries to move. She throws herself to sit up groggily. She pulls her hair back and takes a deep breath before opening her eyes.   

Ash.  

Her bed is covered in ash and smells like fire and smoke.   

Mika practically throws herself off her bed as she looks around her room for any sign of intrusion or proof of the night before.   

The succubus was real. Everything that happened the night before was very very real.   

Mika feels herself starting to hyperventilate and she bolts from the room. She doesn’t change out of her pajamas and almost falls down the stairs as she sprints to find the incubi brothers. Afraid they were gone.   

She can’t be alone. Not again. Not after she finally found what she had always wanted. It’s not fair.  

Her brain rushes through every worst case imaginable before she tumbles into the dining room.   

All five brothers are there, the breakfast set on the table as Erik places the pitcher of orange juice down. They stop in the middle of their conversation to look over at her. She’s heaving as she tries to catch her breath, her eyes wild as she accounts for all five brothers.   

“You’re up awfully late, spend all night reading?” James asks in a light tone.   

“Calm down Mika, we weren’t going to have breakfast without you.” Matthew teases her with a bright grin and a tilt of his head.   

Sam furrows his brows at her and stands, taking a step closer, “What’s up with you?” He asks her.   

She takes a shaky breath, unable to form a coherent sentence.   

They’re still here.  

Is all she’s able to wrap her head around as her panic fades. Her eyes find Damien’s in her frantic search, and she sees him pause. She replays what she can remember from the night before and hopes it’s enough for him.   

Sam reaches his arm out to her and places a comforting hand on her shoulder trying to get her attention.  

Damien immediately understands her, and he sits up bone straight, blue eyes wide.   

“That succubus is here…” Damien says in a hushed voice as he stares at Mika, eye wide in panic.   

“Damien, what are you talking about?” Erik looks at his younger brother in mild confusion.  

Damien looks around at his brothers, brows furrowed, “The succubus that James was promised to marry.”  

“Excuse me?” James quirks a brow at Damien in surprise.  

Sam stands in a quiet anger as he sets a firm hand on Mika’s back in reassurance. His other hand is curled into a tight fist, knuckles white, as his face is twisted in a tight frown.  

Sam’s eyes pierce Mika’s as he asks, “Did she hurt you?” His voice is surprisingly calm, but the rage lingers behind his words.  

She shakes her head, “Uh, no no, she… I mean she threatened to if I told you guys.” Mika says voice quiet.  

She brings her hands up to massage her forehead, her head pounding with a forming migraine, “I think, I think she also took my energy? It’s all kind of fuzzy.” Mika murmurs.  

Sam’s curled fist flexes for a moment, trying to contain his anger. His firm hand on her back twitches but doesn’t move. He tries to feel her energy and he notices how exhausted she is. The bags under her eyes, how she sways on her feet even while he’s holding her. The rage flows through him.  

“You’re exhausted Mika.” His voice is a deep growl, she knows it's not directed at her, but it doesn’t take a magical being to feel the tense air shift in the room.  

“How long was she there?” Matthew asks, trying to alleviate some of the intense energy from Sam.  

“I uh,” She avoids Sam’s intense gaze for a second, looking at Matthew behind him.  

“I really don’t know.” Mika’s voice sounds a little defeated, she sighs before continuing. “She showed up in the middle of the night and immediately enthralled me. She caught me off guard by burning the notes on my bed.” She says bitterly.  

“She what!?” James exclaimed in mild irritation. “I just made those!” he muttered in irritation.  

Erik crosses his arms and gives James a disapproving look, “Not the main concern here James. Your ex-fiancé has decided to follow us and put our family in danger.”  

James opens his mouth to argue but stops. He checks himself after looking over at Mika and seeing the bags under her eyes and the slight sway of her stance.  

“I can just write them again...” He reassures Mika.  

“She wants to take us back. Back to the Demon Realm.” Damien looks at his brothers in worry.   

“She’s crazy if she thinks we’re going back with her!” Matthew exclaims, making a sour face.  

“She mentioned… stopping a war...and your father?” Mika mumbles thinking over what she could remember from the conversation. Or more so from the succubus monologuing.  

“That doesn’t involve us.” Erik quickly says in a defensive tone. His face falls into a deep frown as well.  

“Well, she certainly thinks it does. Her threats made that abundantly clear.” Mika tells them. She wraps her arms around herself in a weak excuse of trying to comfort herself.  

“That’s not gonna happen.” Sam says with determination.   

She backs up from Sam, taking a few steps to just breathe . Everything feels like it’s caving in around her.  

“That’s real nice guys, but this, this is just a lot to process right now.”  She squeezes her eyes shut and tries to focus on regulating her breathing, so she doesn’t hyperventilate.    

Erik moves to grab a chair for her and helps to lower her into it. He rubs her shoulder in a reaffirming gesture. She’s curling into herself, and it makes her appear smaller. She hugs her knees to her chest trying to find some comfort.  

She’s so tired of feeling defeated and exhausted from supernatural beings trying to kill her.   

Mika can hear the brothers talking but it all goes over her head. She’s not actively listening anymore. All she can think about is how she’s about to lose them, lose him. She’s so caught up in a sea of her own swirling anxiety riddled thoughts she jumps when she feels someone touch her.  

She looks up and sees Sam looking at her in concern. He’s running his fingers through her hair in a soothing gesture.  

“You don’t have to do this on your own alright? Don’t lock yourself away when we’re here to help.” he whispers to her reassuringly.   

She can’t find her voice, her throat feels tight, but Sam doesn’t push her for a verbal response. Taking her nod as enough reassurance she heard him. His hand doesn’t leave her head as he tries to calm her even just a little.  

Mika closes her eyes and tries to focus on Sam’s fingers. Just to give her a moment of peace. The murmur of conversation continues, and she can feel Sam’s voice vibrating next to her. She doesn’t bother to interject though. She was too exhausted.  

There’s a pause in the conversation as a bright purple summoning circle appears in the middle of the dining table. All the incubi brothers jump away from the table and position themselves as if ready to fight. From the summoning circle comes the succubus from the night before. She gracefully slides up and lands daintily on the table. She moves to sit on the dining table, crossing her legs and throwing her long brunette hair over her shoulder. Her red eyes pierce through to look at them as she lets out a huff of amusement.  

Sam easily positions himself to stand in front of Mika and Erik slides to stand next to him. They form a wall that Mika can’t really see past, but the woman’s blood red eyes still pierce through a small gap staring into Mika’s soul.  

“Well, that plan failed miserably.” She says with a roll of her eyes as she checks her nails. She frowns and looks over toward Damien with a raised brow. “Forgot about the bastard child and his mind reading abilities.”   

Damien bristles at that, and Sam clenches his fists. Damien looks down and away from her, almost ashamed.  

The succubus turns away from Damien and makes direct eye contact with Mika through the small gap between Erik and Sam. Her piercing glare sends a shiver down Mika’s back. She wants to run away from this woman, but she also wants to tell her to take a hike and get the hell out of her house.  

“I see the human has some guard dogs.” She lazily draws her eyes up to look at Sam and Erik, clearly unamused.  

“One being the brute.” She gives Sam a disgusted look before whipping her head around and landing her sight on James.  

“What do you want?” James glares at her but his tone just sounds exhausted with her, almost like he’s addressing a petulant child.  

The succubus is clearly unamused by his tone, her tail twitches in irritation. Much like a cat would.  

“What I want is for you all to stop playing around with silly little humans and deal with the brink of war your father is about to start.” She bites out in a low growl.   

“That doesn’t concern us anymore.” Erik’s voice states filled with his own distaste.  

The woman whips her head around to Erik and opens her mouth to rebuttal but is cut off quickly.  

“We were dethroned the second we left the Abyssal Plains.” James tells her as he crosses his arms and narrows his golden eyes at her.  

She meets James eyes again and she eases herself off the table to saunter over to James. Her hips move in a way that looks like its second nature for her to be alluring. Mika supposes that probably is as easy as breathing for a succubus.  

“That can change though. I was arranged to marry one of you,” she shrugs her shoulders as she steps closer to James. Resting her hands on his chest as she tilts her head and bats her eyes.  

“That still needs to happen. Then we can rise to the throne and stop your monster of a father.” the succubus offers as she snakes her hands around James’ neck.  

James' eye twitches as he controls his anger with ease. He takes a deep breath and moves to remove her hands from him, grabbing her wrists like she was disgusting.  

“None of us are coming with you.” James says in a low and irritated voice.  

“I didn’t ask for your permission.” the succubus barks back as her voice lowers dangerously.  

There’s a deep purple aura that starts to pulsate around her. It’s similar to the green one that Mika briefly saw Sam have when he came to rescue her from the devils.  

James looks at the woman unamused and raises a brow at her. Not one to have his feathers ruffled, he fights a silent battle with her as their eyes flicker to a glowing gold. James was clearly unaffected by her trying to show dominance.  

Not one to be left out of a fight Sam interjects, “Don’t get on your high horse here bitch! There’s five of us and one of you. I’d watch your mouth.” His voice booms through the room and his body pulsates with his green aura. The rage seething from him as his fists curled.  

Mika moves to grip onto one of Sam’s hands, squeezing tightly, she didn’t want a fight in her dining room.  

The woman stops her glaring contest with James and snaps to look at Sam, a cruel smile playing across her lips as she stalks over to him.  

“Don’t get mouthy with me brute or I will kill that little human and make this easier on us all.”  

“What the fuck did you just say!?” Sam growls out and immediately tries to rush her. He already had a short fuse, but threatening Mika? That was his last straw.  

Erik moves his arms out to stop Sam, “Don’t be stupid, she wants you to attack her!” Erik hisses out to his younger brother and rolls his eyes.  

“Let me go Erik!” Sam’s voice is low as he tries to move around him. James is quickly over and helping Erik hold Sam back.  

The woman stands there and laughs at Sam, her tail flicks back and forth as she watches.  

“What a good little guard dog.” She hums out. Her eyes flicker past Sam and look directly at Mika.  

“I bet he listens to his owner.”    

Sam’s body suddenly jerks in front of Mika, blocking her view. “Don’t look at her look at me bitch!” Sam spits out at the woman. He’s trying to get out of his brother’s grip, but James and Erik won’t budge.  

Matthew starts to stalk over from the other side of the room, realizing Sam’s serious about hurting the succubus.  

“Call me a bitch one more time you mangy dog and see what I’ll do to you!” The woman roars, her voice echoing off the walls as she glares daggers at Sam.  

As quickly as the anger flashed through her it ends as she takes a deep breath, closes her eyes, and sighs. She flips her hair back and looks at the crew of incubi brothers and the one little human their lives are centered around.  

“Whatever, my plans changed now anyways. I’ll be back to collect you boys.” She turns around and snaps her fingers. Summoning a similar circle to one she entered with.  

Just as swiftly as she arrived, she disappears, but not without leaving Mika feeling more confused and frightened than before.   

Once she’s gone, James and Erik release Sam. Sam’s muscles flex in frustration as he jerks himself away from his brothers. His breath is ragged as he glares down at the floor where the summoning circle smoke lingers.  

The brothers' voices linger in the background, mumbled concerns and words thrown at each other like knives.  

Mika doesn’t process any of it as she just stares at the floor, the woman’s fierce red eyes burned into her memory.  

Why?  

Why did this stuff keep happening to them?  

It wasn’t supposed to be like this. Was it?  

Is this what she had to look forward to forever? New other worldly threats coming to try and tear apart her family. She didn’t ask for this. She didn’t want to be in this situation where she had to keep relying on others again, and again, and again, to protect her.   

A reassuring hand is placed on her shoulder, she’s unsure of who it is. She vaguely hears words of reassurance, something to try to comfort her.  

Mika continues to stare into the floor, burning a hole with her eyes, she isn’t afraid. For the first time in a long time, Mika feels a deep, guttural, and raw emotion bubbling from her.  

It’s something deeper than just anger and it makes her blood boil and her throat constrict. She can’t name what she’s feeling but she knows she can’t be on the sidelines of her own life anymore. She will protect her new family, if it is the last thing she does.

Walk, don't run

Mika realizes her and Sam forgot something VERY important. Referenced sex and a pregnancy scare.

So the main plot of this fic was actually originally very different. That was until I sprained my ankle. Sorry Mika.

Not really, I will continue to project my issues on to her. (Like the charger fic one)

Anyways, please be safe! Protection is so important, and Mika had no way of knowing the incubi could control their fertility. (With the assumption Mika didn't ask about condoms, the incubi probably wouldn't think of it anyways)

This is in no way judging anyone, just a small idea I had when thinking about cambions and such.

Mika checked the calendar on the wall of her room, absentmindedly noting that her period was late. She’d always had an irregular cycle, stress making her go up to months without one, and she’d had a crazy last few weeks. She’d met five incubi, gotten kidnapped by a devil, had her school taken over by a succubus named Diana, all while falling madly in love with an extremely strong, caring, and ridiculously attractive demon.

She wouldn’t change it for anything, though. Sam’s confession played through her mind, and Mika smiled wistfully at the memory. She didn’t really understand it, how someone like Sam co uld love someone like her. But, as long as he wanted her, she’d be with him. The relationship moved fast at an ungodly speed the first week. Hell, they’d been intimate right after proclaiming their love to Diana and-

Wait.

Mika suddenly paled, her stomach turning. Oh my god, her period was late, and she’d had sex with Sam. Multiple times. She felt frozen in place, completely unable to move as her mind jumped to the worst possible conclusions. What would her parents think? She was still in high school! How could she be so stupid and not use protection?

As fast as she could think of it, she bolted out of her room and down the stairs to find him. However, right before she could meet the last few steps, she felt her ankle roll from underneath her, making her fall down and face plant on the tile floor. The pain in her jaw almost distracted her from the horrible throbbing in her ankle, and she had to fight back tears as she tried to push herself up.

“Oh shit! Mika?” Matthew frantically called out as he rushed towards her. He helped her sit up, and Mika was so focused on the pain that she didn’t realize the others were rushing in as well.

“Are you okay?” Damien asked, his voice louder than usual.

“Miss, do you need to go to the hospital?” James said, his tone even and professional as always.

“Princess, if you wanted someone to carry you- OUCH!” And of course, Erik, who’d just been smacked across the back of the head by Sam.

“Doofus, what are you doing on the floor?” Sam asked, hiding his worry well as he kneeled beside her and Matthew.

Mika grimaced as she tried to stand up. “I fell… I think I sprained my ankle.”

Before she could try to stand, Sam scooped her up as if she weighed nothing. “Alright, where do you need to go?” He asked, and his determination to help her made Mika’s heart swell.

Quickly though, like a bucket of cold water, the reason she’d been coming to find him in the first place resurfaced. “Room.” She said, obviously panicking. 

The boys all exchanged worried looks as James spoke, besides Damien who just raised an eyebrow. “Miss, I will bring you some ice for your ankle and jaw in a few minutes.”

Mika nodded quickly and thanked him. She looked back to Sam while he carried her up the stairs. Would he leave her? She’d heard of this, men leaving after hearing their partner is pregnant. Sam wouldn’t do that, right? Was she even pregnant? All these questions filled her mind and she started to feel nauseated. Or was that from the baby? Was there a baby?

Finally, Sam walked in her room and sat her on her bed. Before he could do anything, she sat up quickly and pulled him down to sit with her, surprising him. “Sam.”

Sam tried to analyze her expression. “Yeah? Do you need anything- MPH?!”

He was cut off by Mika crushing her lips against his. He hesitantly kissed back, their lips moving against each other passionately. Mika pulled him to her tightly, like she was worried he’d disappear. 

Sam must have noticed, because he slowed the kiss down and gently pulled away. “Doofus, talk to me. Something’s bugging ya, and I don’t think it’s your foot.”

She wanted the words to come out in a calm manner, but all that came out was “CONDOMS!”

She mentally smacked herself for her inability to speak, but Sam didn’t seem to get what she was saying. In fact, he seemed even more confused. Mika shrunk in on herself as she spoke again. “We didn’t…we didn’t use condoms and I’m not on the pill.”

Sam stared at her like she’d grown a second head, which was starting to aggravate her. Did he not see how urgent this was? 

“What are you talking about?” He asked, confirming that he, in fact, did not know how urgent this was.

Mika stared incredulously, waiting for the realization to hit him. When it never came, she spoke quietly. “Like…protection? From pregnancy and-”

Suddenly, Sam choked on his own spit. Mika immediately shrunk backwards, worried about his reaction. 

That was until that asshole started laughing.

“What the actual fuck, Sam! Do you think this is a joke?!” She yelled in disbelief, and Sam suddenly tensed, his expression apologetic.

He put his hands up defensively, no longer laughing. “Sorry, sorry. You don’t need to worry about that, okay?”

“I’M IN HIGH SCHOOL, OF COURSE I NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THAT!” She screamed, though it came out more of a wine by the end, and threw her hands up in exasperation.

Sam sighed and ran a hand through his hair. “Damn it, that’s not what I meant. Incubi can control that stuff. You’re not pregnant, okay? We would be able to sense if you were, or Damien would hear it.”

She blinked, then blinked again before her eyes widened in surprise and realization. She shoved her face in her hands as she murmured. “Oh my god.”

Sam went to touch her but froze, unsure. “Are you okay? I should’ve said something sooner, but I didn’t think of it.”

He hesitantly moved to grab her hands, moving them from her face. She stared back, and after a moment of silence, she started to giggle. “Sorry, I guess I freaked out over nothing.”

When he was sure she was okay, he smirked, his eyes remained soft and remorseful though. “It’s alright, I should’ve said something.”

Suddenly, there was a knock at the door and as Mika stood up to get it, a sharp pain shot threw her ankle, making her yelp in pain. Before she could even process it, Sam moved her back on her bed.

 He opened the door, retrieving the ice packs James had brought and quickly, and ever so gently, placed one on her ankle and the other on her jaw. When he was done, he laid beside her and wrapped his arms around her, and she immediately relaxed at just how safe he made her feel. 

“Thanks.” she mumbled into his neck.

He hummed in response, kissing over her forehead. A few moments went by, and they both were starting to feel the pull of sleep. “Hey Doofus?”

“Yeah?” She asked, her face still buried in his shoulder.

“Next time, walk down the stairs if you think something is wrong. Breaking your neck won’t help anybody.” He said, his voice tired, yet playful.

Mika smiled against his skin, her words slurring from the sleep she was about to fall into. “No promises.”
