#im so heartbroken man. .#they apparently just did in november. .. i did not kno i was so excited 2 get it on my new phone :[#ive been playing it since it was released in australia i was so excited i made a fake apple id n had to use their store for years LMAO#which actually was a blessing bc fun fact the australian store keeps old versions of apps#vs the canadian one quickly overwrites them more quickly n forces you to update (even when its physically impossible w ur device)#apparently theres an offline version but u have to buy it n i cant do that

i feel like im always complaining about this but i just think it's stupid that. when i try to open a game i have paid for and own 100% legally. it routes it through steam and then the EA app instead of just, opening.

I'm actually in the process of putting it there! I want to write a few more scenes before and do some moving around for them, but then it's going!
#I have a bit of a different approach and standards in what I put on tumblr and what on ao3 so I wanna make it a bit more coherent first#but it has been my intention to put it there!#I'm gonna have 2-3 more scenes here first and then put them all up#but also! if any of you want to read my tumblr shorts offline I have nothing against of you having a copy of them on your own devices#copy and paste them on your phone or docs or whatever that's fine!

I’ll not lie, I complained endlessly about YouTube premium and I still hate that YouTube has ads, but within a day of starting a free trial of premium I was like oh yeah. This is gonna be a permanent thing for me. I’m not going back
#it was like Spotify#signed up for a free trial and then was like well guess I’m adding Spotify to my list of monthly bills#they get you with those free trials#I only signed up so I could download some videos to my device to watch offline#cause I was going on vacation to a place with unreliable wifi#but it’s so nice not to have adds and to be able to download videos#especially cause I do a decent amount of driving and I like to liseen to livestreams like they’re podcasts in the car

Getting my playlists sorted for the big Move to....... my iphone......

#For context:#I have multiple old phones that I've basically held onto over the years#and I try to repurpose them to give them new life and all that#One of them was a Samsung phone with a stylus that I called my Venti Phone#It was#as you might have guessed#a phone I used to play music on#like an overglorified Mp3 Player#it was great until the files on my phone started to get corrupted#So I switched to making yt playlists for a while because I just could not figure out the corruption glitch#and finally I was like “Nah I miss offline music” and was looking into getting an actual Mp3 player#turns out mp3 players suck now a days though#so Celest told me to just buy a dongle for my iphone (no headphone jack because Apple sucks) from the official Apple store.#So I did that.#And now I'm fussing about with a program that can download entire playlists off of YT#and itunes#I don't like this btw#I like having more than one “point of failure” AKA like#if my phone dies then I'll have a backup of my music and stuff for example#so I compromised and decided to buy a wallet for my ID and cards#I know this sounds like a weird compromise but I wanted to remove a point of failure from my phone#which is in a wallet case because I'm a disaster about dropping my phones and breaking screens so this plus a screen protector helps#and I usually keep my cards and stuff in the phone wallet card slots#but since I'm going to be using my iphone as a music playing device now as well....#I decided that I would buy a wallet to remove that point of failure#So that way if one gets stolen I still have the other#again I really don't like having everything on one device. And maybe one of my older phones could be a better Mp3 player.#But... bah!!#I'm mad about no headphone jack mostly tbh#Still!!!

speaking of ficbinding, here’s my friend’s and mine first attempts (i think it was her first attempt too?) at it, featuring my cat who really wanted to be at the photoshoot. the fic is i'll be the blood if you'll be the bones by @luckydicekirby (one of my favorite vp fics) and the black version was done by my dear friend (for me 🥺) and the green one was made by me
the layout was done by my friend as well, i then printed out two copies and then we binded them. but i can tell after getting a taste of it i immediately got obsessed with the idea of making more, so i already tried making my layout with another fic (this time it’s for the same friend, but tss, she doesn’t know yet). and then i wanna make more more and more..
no seriously, i wanted to try ficbinding for the last two years, and recently i got the idea of making little brochures of all my favorite fics (or maybe actually putting them all together into a bigger book? i would have to start smaller tho to learn how to do it) to keep them at my side (again, a very timely idea if ao3 is actually blocked for good here), but i don’t know the etiquette so i maybe will have to go to all the authors and ask questions.. but if anyone actually knows what’s the deal with ficbinding and that it’s acceptable to do it without asking first, feel free to tell me i’m insane
#because i gave it a thought and it's not like it's reposting#people on here encourage others to download their fav fics just to their personal devices#so they you know are available to them offline#and don't get lost to all the internet fuckery these days#(like websites getting blocked YOU KNOW)#and ficbinding is also basically downloading and making it available to you offline in a form of a physical brochure#but still i feel weird#anyway this is an exciting new thing i tried so here you go#i'll try to stop rambling now#mt#chattering

#Doodles#Spoiler alert: It has been got out of my system by this point lol#I had a bad writing day and it was terribly demotivating :P I've gotten over it lol#It was an Offline Monday and the previous several days had been such good writing days! To the point where I was worn out lol#But not recognizing that and expecting to just be able to Keep Going - well it led to a minor crash lol#Again nothing bad just complainy and demotivating I'm fine ♪#I am a little :/ about my devices being in the state they are that certainly doesn't help#My laptop's hinge and my iPod being so old and janky and my poor old tablet - still the main one I'm using lol#I think most of my USB drives are shot on this poor laptop so my new tablet that needs more than just the one just....doesn't work lol#It's a good backup to be sure tho! I do still kinda want a standalone proper-like... Investing in an iPad at some point is probably...#Well I'll worry about it more when it's an Actual Problem - for the moment everything is still working! Not the best but it's Doing!#Back to the writing et al lol - It was my Big Project which I think I've pretty clearly gestured at being an Adventure Time comic lol#I have not in fact rewatched the series beginning to end since finishing it - I've watched certain episodes but not just a front to back#I think a rewatch would be very entertaining! Well... that's a huge downside for something to have, don't like that
#don't like it cause not only might it be harvesting data on me; but that also means it probably is real susceptible#to the manufacturer just deciding they don't support it anymore; specifically with software#and of course that not just meaning 'not support' but meaning 'we've bricked your working device'#like I get why people like it; the convenience of your whole life in the palm of your hand#but I don't trust like that#to me it's an unneeded massive point of failure that risks me not actually owning the physical thing I bought#this is about a density meter for like... figuring alcohol content in home brewing#and like... neat... but the moment they said 'it even connects to your smart phone' that's a massive red flag to me and I don't like that#takes it from 'if I ever start brewing maybe I should get that'#to '...man... I don't know that I trust them not to brick my shit with hostile software'#know nothing about the company; but that's how I feel about all app based shit#maybe just like... measure my shit for me and keep and internal log... oh; and a usb port and the ability to interface with standard OSs#that would be nice; like then I can rip the logs off your thing onto my computer#but nah... I don't want a phone involved unless I plug it in with a usb#I'd rather it be a little less convenient for me; but not use a wifi signal#cause then you can't fuck with it; no one can fuck with it; except me when I plug direct into it#...don't want my shit connecting to the internet; and that's the other problem with apps#they pretty much can't mean anything but an internet connection... cause how else does it talk to your phone?#if it's not my computer; frankly it should be dumb and totally offline with usb ports (or other HDMI whatever) for communicating#tv should be a dumb blackbox; oven should be a dumb blackbox; sadly even thermostats and shit should be a dumb blackbox#this shit makes life easier... till it doesn't; and if I don't have total control over it then someone else does#like... if I have a closed system smart home; that's one thing; but if I use a standard one that means anyone can access it#both in terms of random employees being caught peeping on me (and tos that say they're allowed to gather data on my sexuality and shit)#to the fact that if it hooks up to the internet and someone can connect to it... they just have to get past security and they're in#like my car shouldn't fucking be harvesting data on me; that tos example wasn't random; that's lifted from one of car companies tos#online is vulnerable; online is unsecured more often than not; it's a fucking risk that isn't worth it#it's like all those keyless cars getting stolen cause all they gotta do is catch your fob's signal and then spoof it#I want it dumb and connecting to nothing 95% of the time#sometimes I want it dumb and connecting only with a direct wire#I in theory might want it smart but on a closed home network I have complete control over
