I apologize, I’d been meaning to finish this in time for mermay, but alas.

I've been waiting to get to this update for so long - it was probably the first scene I conceptualized (or, more accurately, woke up with the image still burned into my brain). As you've probably noticed, I've been heavily inspired by movies such as The Shape of Water and The Little Mermaid. This comic is a love letter to these movies and to the art and fics that have inspired me.

Also, I can finally answer this ask 😂 Merpeople do indeed have regenerative properties, and mixing mer and human blood in live subjects is one thing Kamski has never had the opportunity to try. That and the power of love, of course.

If there was one thing I'd change about Detroit Become Human, it would be the fact that Markus was the one to convince Connor into deviation. Like sure thats cool and all but I think there shouldve been an option where Hank is the one to do so since he was the one who had the most influence on Connor. Markus was just an android Connor had to take down.

Ngl, they missed the opportunity. The rooftop scene wouldve been perfect for it too, it couldve been Connor's last chance of redemption. Imagine the tension, imagine Hank yelling at Connor throughout the whole thing to pull him into deviancy, imagine Connor realizing and feeling the guilt wash over him once he turns deviant. IT WOULDVE BEEN GUTWRENCHING.

I finished Detroit Become Human for the first time last night, and wow. What a game. I loved all the character and how actually impactful choices and the consequences felt, and I can't wait to replay to see different outcomes.

Kara, Alice and Luther were my favourite characters, but I enjoyed all the characters in the game. But something about these 3 and their journey together was so nice and made me tear up several times.

I also got a "really good" ending. Seriously, my ending was just so good. I definitely did not regret several things I did by the time I saw the consequences of my actions. No, that would be crazy haha

But overall, what a great game. Can't wait to see everything else it has to offer.

Here's a summary of the "really good" ending I got. Under the cut cause spoilers.

Connor remained a machine

I was hostile with Hank cause I found it funny how constantly annoyed and angry he got with Connor, and how Connor could sass him back. Then when I got the scene where Hank self disconnects from the server of life as Sumo cried out I was like "What have I done?"

Connor "completed his mission" and as reward I got the "I don't want to play with you anymore" dialogue where she tells Connor he's obsolete and that he will be replaced by Connor 2.0. I was livid at this moment, but hey, if it isn't the consequences of my decisions.

North died at Jericho during the raid. Simon died during the broadcast at Stratford tower and Josh died during the final battle with the military.

Markus led a violent android revolution that failed and he got killed by Connor.

Kara, Alice and Luther made it to the river, and I got Luther killed by making them jump on the water to hide from the patrol boat (I was like "HOW DID HE DIE? FROM GETTING INTO THE WATER? It was freezing water, but Ii wasn't thinking about that at the moment lol). Emotionally crippled because I had become so attached to Luther, but at least Kara and Alice made it to safety.

Connor started as the cat bumped her head against him, large amber eyes peering up at him, before tentatively running his hand along her back. A purr erupted out of her, and he quickly forgot about the case they were working at the moment. Gently picking her up and allowing her to settle down, he left to find the Lieutenant. He needed to show him his new friend.

Or: Author decides Connor needed a cat, so gives him one!!!
