WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CHILD HAS BITTEN LIP OR TONGUE?

If your child has suffered a severe enough bite to the lip or tongue that it is causing bleeding, clean the area gently with water and apply a cold compress (a cold, wet towel or washcloth pressed firmly against the affected area) to reduce swelling or prevent it altogether.

REMOVING AN OBJECT STUCK BETWEEN TEETH

If your child has something caught between his or her teeth, use dental floss to remove it gently. Never try to remove a stuck object using a metal, plastic, or sharp tool.

BROKEN, CHIPPED, OR FRACTURED TOOTH

If your child has chipped or broken off a piece of a tooth, rinse his or her mouth with warm water, then apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Try to locate and save the tooth fragment that broke off as the pediatric dentist may be able to bond the fragment back on the tooth.

KNOCKED-OUT TOOTH

If your child's permanent tooth has been knocked out entirely, find the tooth and rinse it with water (no soap), taking care only to touch the crown of the tooth (the part you can see when it's in place). Place the tooth in a clean container filled with milk.

OP I'm sure you mean well and the sentiment is nice but the Notes make it pretty clear that getting a Nice Dentist is the minority experience, and that most people have had very real pain or judgement thrown onto them by their oral hygenists.

Different take, but just don't take shit from bad doctors, mental, physical, oral, or otherwise. This is obviously limited by a lot of factors, like funds, transportation, finding someone in your insurance network (if you even have insurance), and the general anxiety of phone calls and new doctors and the like, but finding a doctor that works right for you makes all the difference.

Remember, those fuckers work for you! You are paying for a service! I'm on my second or third doctor for a lot of my care, and that's a relatively small margin for more chronic issues to be taken seriously, but you shouldn't pay for help that isn't helping! They want to dismiss your struggles, ignore your pain, act entitled on some moral high horse? Boot their ass.
