Just left purple flowers at the Boy’s graves in Fair Oaks. It’s Day of the Dead. And, a young Buck strolled through!

I included a drawing of some of the flowers that I left at the graves which I had placed in a glass jar. I wrote the following on the same page as the drawing: “The last 3 purple flower stems—in my Chico Slaveway glass Pomegranate Juice Bottle from  Chico, Saturday, in passenger door side pocket.

The above entries are contained in two pages of my 2015 “airplane” journal. I will post photos of the journal pages and of the journal cover. Later in June, 2015, on a flight home from Portland Oregon, the stewardess saw the Airlplane cover and also commented on it. I think that she asked me what the book was?  

 In the November 2, 2015 entry, I had been visiting my sister in Chico California which is where I bought the Pomegranate juice at the Safeway (Slaveway) store. I stoped off at the Fair Oaks cemetery on my way home to Modesto to visit my Aid’s match Daryl Speichers grave. I had adopted the graves of a dentist and his lover (I assume) across the way from Daryl’s grave through the years. So, if I bring flowerers to Daryl, I leave some for the Dentist and his companion, too. Their grave marker says that he was an oral surgeon.

While at their grave sides on November 2, a deer (Buck) strolled through the cemetery nearby! I have visited the cemetery many times since Daryl’s death in 1987, and had never seen a deer or buck stroll through. I decided it was a symbol of Daryl’s presence being nearby.

In 1986 I was a volunteer for Hand to Hand, an Aids support group that matched volunteers with people with Aids to help them through their illness and death. My first match on December 18, 1986 was Daryl Speicher. He deid from Aids February 3, 1987.
