I point and laugh at the foot fetish pages (Weren't you raised by elves? Can't you sing? Anything else as a first idea?) but it's just me disguising how it wounds me. Mithrun is convinced that he's dependent on magic or drugs to fall asleep, and it's so immediately disproven. It gives me the impression those methods were the elves' first idea, and it worked, so they kept doing it and he now believes it's necessary. He evidently can't even do it to himself. He believes he's dependent on this cold, utilitarian solution.
It makes me wonder about how he perceives himself and his situation, and how he reports it to people. It's a good early insight into reasons Kabru will tell him he's full of shit later.
Kabru is a stranger at this point, basically, so he doesn't have those assumptions about him. He just does what he'd do for anyone else, which is to just. Put him somewhere warm and make him feel comfortable and safe.
What's it like to be spared death by people who won't even do that for you?

No, Gaza isn't the most densely populated place on earth. Not even close.

prev post just reminded me of a conversation I once had with my sister and friends about primarch alignment drift because it's so real. all these bitches are evil, no matter their backstory. please imagine being their DM having to inform them their dnd alignment changed
"corvus corax is a revolutionary!" yeah, he was, and now he regularly unleashes legions of superhuman killing machines to colonize planets for his empire. sorry, that makes him evil. vulkan started the campaign neutral good but now he's a primarch with a legion and regularly kills people for personal and financial/reputational gain. sorry buddy, that's a form of evil. sinew of war went to great lengths to assure us that guilliman was raised a socialist and now he's just a perfect, solid lawful evil. conquest machine go brr
also for funsies here's something my sister said about konrad and the cognitive dissonance most of them are operating on because it makes me laugh

the fact that the other primarchs criticise what he does when it's 1000x less destructive is funny though
"how dare you brutally kill 1000 people to bring a world into compliance. now, if you'll excuse me, i need to bomb a city of 37 million into slag" (discord messages from a user nicknamed "sister thing")

I just saw somebody tag a photo from Louisville as "Project Zomboid reference" and I'm like... my guy, do you think they invented that city for the game?

and obviously, England's natural biological diversity is never coming back, no matter how hard you make fun of people on the internet.
But there are a lot of efforts out there to do what we can. The city I live in for instance is really big on urban wildflower meadows and homes for bees.
I love the way the countryside looks in other places; the Pacific northwest for example. We don't have anything like that here. But I can't mourn England's natural way of being because I've never seen it. To me, England's way of being wild is postapocalyptic in nature it's about reclaiming and entanglement and shoots through broken asphalt. And that can be beautiful in its way. Not beautiful like an 'unspoiled wilderness' (which I hear is maybe a sus trope anyhow) but beautiful like a thriving artificial coral reef made of construction waste.

my furryverse has regular feral animals living alongside Furries, the Anthro Animals, which are usually just slightly bigger than them. All this time I'd just been thinking about the lesser animals as like. Pet dogs and sparrows right outside your window and squirrels in the forest. And not like. Anthro bunny families have to be careful in open areas lest a raptor that cannot be communicated with plucks one of your children

Note
i still mask bcuz i dont wanna move closer to my family just to give them a deadly disease. it is really lonely living in a city that's already moved on. i cant even hang out with my best friend more than a couple days a month without risking an infection (i cant afford to take rapid tests constantly, she geniunely has had a hard time getting back to masking) i have faith that looking forward to longterm happiness will be worth it in the end

The quality of water in Dutch lakes, rivers and canals has been worsening in the past years and, continuing at this pace, it will not reach the “good” status required by 2027 under EU rules, the European Commission warned in a report published on Tuesday. The report assesses progress made under the Water Framework Directive, the main EU law in this field. Adopted in 2000, the directive requires that surface waters (lakes, rivers, ditches and coastal waters) and ground waters achieve “good ecological status” by 2027. Based on data provided by member states, however, most EU countries will fail to reach the objective. Across the EU, only 39% of surface waters are currently in ranked “good” in terms of their ecological status, and 27% meet the “good” chemical status. In the Netherlands, out of 745 surface water bodies monitored, none were classified as being “good”, a “slight deterioration” compared to 2015. In total, 64% were considered “moderate”, 26% “poor”, and 9% in bad condition. Although there are fewer bodies of water in bad and poor status compared to the past, there has been a “serious deterioration” with regard to chemical status. The number of water bodies classified as “good” with regard to chemicals has  “dramatically and steadily decreased”, from 70% in 2009 to 39% in 2015 and 9% in 2021, the report says.
