Korra and Asami go on a walk in the city after Korra and her band play a nice gig. Looks like Asami dressed up for the occasion as well. It seems like Korra also wants to see her 'Sami wear her flannel on top (probably to see how sexy she looks lol)

Ever since I saw @denimcatfishart’s sublime Tracer/Emily Top Gun mashup I’ve been thinking about a Top Gun Overwatch AU, and thanks to Blizzard, I think I finally have all the pieces for this wonderful monstrosity

Tracer is excellent, but current-timeline Lena is really more of a Goose than a Maverick - adorable, happily married, and tragically lost halfway through the story to a slipstream accident >.>

An excellent Overwatch Maverick?  Hana Song.  Ace pilot, total show-off, in it to win it, and absolutely would buzz the tower in her MEKA at every single opportunity.  

Ana makes a similarly good Viper as the veteran instructor, with Strike Team-era Reyes as an excellent Jester, which largely leaves Jack as the air boss in the tower who keeps spilling coffee on himself and goes on a tirade about it yelling “I want some BUTTS!”

Widow makes a surprisingly good Ice Man (and not just for the name pun) with Sombra in as Slider mostly because they’d make great beach volleyball partners, but that still left one major gap in the cast: Charlie, the instructor

As a long-time bunny ribbit shipper I tried to make Lucio fit, but the parallels just aren’t there, so I wound up shelving the idea.  

That is, until along came Brigitte.  Intimately familiar with combat tactics from the sidelines, invested in doing things by the book to keep pilots safe, and unable to avoid a steamy entanglement with a troubled and reckless star pupil.

Anyway thank you Blizzard for helping me complete the circle, time to get to writing, mostly so I can make Jack spill coffee on himself repeatedly while shouting about butts

Chapter 4: Pretend that they're dead

Korra and her band were performing another song and Korra was in front.

"Knock them dead, babe," said Asami.

Korra winked at her.

Bolin counted down and they started playing.

Using the moves that Zoe taught her, she moved around the stage.

The audience was starting to get into the performance.

"That's our Korra for you," said Asami as she continued to play.

The audience cheered.

After the song, they played an instrumental song by Chon called Bubble Dream.

"Looks like those lessons we gave them are paying off," said Zoe.

Marcus was getting annoyed.

"Those guys are trying to steal our status," he said.

"Hey cool it man," said Shelly, "You've been stingy ever since that bar fight."

"Eventually I might just kick them off the tour," said Marcus, "They're not at the level they need to be."

"Level has nothing to do with it," said Shelly, "I wasn't so good when I got invited to play with this band."

"Japanese musician's don't have the same level," said Marcus, "Especially lesbians."

"Drop it," said Shelly.

Marcus saw someone familiar in the pub.

"Shit," he said, "Its my ex."

"The big one?" asked Shelly.

"Yeah," said Marcus, "Elaine."

Later, Mako was walking with Zoe back to the hotel.

"We enjoyed watching you out there Mako," said Zoe.

"Thanks again for those private lessons," said Mako.

"Hey, there's one thing we wanna give you before you head back," said Zoe.

"What is it?" asked Mako.

Out of surprise Zoe kissed Mako on the lips.

He was at first surprised but then started to get into it.

Mako smiled.

"I enjoyed that," he said.

Zoe opened the door.

"If its alright with you, wanna come in?" she asked.

A few minutes later, they were sleeping in the same bed.

The phone was ringing the next morning.

Zoe walked over and picked it up.

"Hello?" she said.

"Zoe its Marcus," said Marcus, "I think I've found a solution."

"What are you talking about?" asked Zoe dressing up.

Mako was still asleep.

"To get rid of The Tone Benders and get them kicked off the tour," said Marcus, "They just need one more violation in order to do so."

"Are you insane?" asked Zoe, "You can't do that to them! They're great musicians and all around great guys."

"I told you before about this," said Marcus, "They're not at the level they need to be to tour with us, and plus they have lesbians."

"What does that have to do with the music?" asked Zoe.

"It has a lot to do with it," said Marcus, "And they're trying to take our status as the best rock band."

His ex, Elaine was watching from a window.

"This is some juicy information," she said.

"Look we can't discuss this right now," said Zoe, "We're bringing Mako to the usual spot for some musician practice skills."

"Look Zoe, I…." Marcus said before Zoe hung up.

Mako woke up.

"Everything ok Zo?" he asked.

"Nothing to worry about," said Zoe, "Its just our brother reminding us about the song selection and such."

"Oh, ok," said Mako, "So the usual spot tonight?"

"You bet," said Zoe, "We'll see you then."

Back at the main room, Mako opened the door to a room of grinning faces.

"Sooooooooo, how was it?" asked Opal.

"How was what?" asked Mako.

"Don't play dumb with us big boy," said Asami, "We know you spent the night at Zoe's."

Mako had a huge blush on his face.

"It was fun," said MAko.

"Tell us more," said Opal, "We wanna know this shit man!"

"Did you kiss her?" asked Korra.

"Did you get to play with her fun bags?" asked Bolin.

Opal looked down at her own chest.

"Opal what's wrong?" asked Bolin.

"Oh its nothing," said Opal, "I just need some air."

She walked outside.

Elana knocked on Marcus' door.

He opened it and saw her.

"Ugh, what do you want?" asked Marcus.

"Its been a while," said Elana.

"Yeah, since you stole my girlfriend from me," said Marcus, "I have a lot to do today so goodbye."

"I thought you might wanna hear some juicy information about The Tone Benders," said Elana.

He stopped.

"What kind of juicy information?" he asked.

Guitars and Violins Chapter 1

(Korra was a girl who wanted to play her music. Asami was a girl who wanted more than what she was offered. When the two of them collide, everything in their worlds will change. Sparks will fly, romance will blossom, and challenges will arise! This story is inspired by the Korrasami Musicians AU by Denimcatfishart on Tumblr. Various songs by bands used in this fic)

Chapter 1: Tone Bender

(Disclaimer! I own nothing of Korra!)

 “Yes!” said Korra, “Its finally here!”

She opened the box and it revealed a pedal.

She got her cell phone and called Mako.

“Korra, what’s shaking?” asked Mako.

“You know that pedal I bought off of Amazon?” asked Korra, “I got it.”

“No way,” said Mako, “You got….”

“That’s right!” said Korra, “The Tone Bender used by the one and only Jimmy Page.”

“The one that’s never been played by another guitarist alive?!” asked Mako.

“That’s right,” said Korra, “Never been used by any other guitarist, until now.”

She plugged it in and started playing on it.

“So, what do you think?” asked Korra as she grinned.

“Holy shit that sounds incredible,” said Bolin over the phone, “Now we can finally start recording that album!”

“Tell Tahno to meet up at the usual spot,” said Korra, “Now we can finally start putting together those originals!”

“You got it,” said Mako as he hung up.

He then sent a text to Tahno.

Korra wants to meet tonight at the usual spot. You in?

Mako

Tahno grinned.

Later

  Mako was tuning his bass while Bolin was playing around on his drums.

Korra kicked the doors open.

“What’s up playas!” she said.

“You made it,” said Mako, “So, how is that Tone Bender working for you?”

“Wonders,” said Korra, “Although I did get a noise complait earlier. Sorry, not sorry.”

“Classic Korra, excited like a little kid over a toy,” said Tahno.

“So, ready to jam out this new song?” asked Korra.

“Oh you know it,” said Bolin, “I’ve been waiting to bang on my drums all day.”

Tahno grabbed his mic.

Bolin counted down and they started playing.

 Nearly Lost You by Screaming Trees

Tahno: Did you hear the distant cry Calling me back to my sin Like the one you knew before Calling me back once again I nearly, I nearly lost you there And it's taken us somewhere I nearly lost you there Let's try to sleep now

 The band was jamming out. Some people were outside listening to them and banging their heads. “Man whoever these guys are they rock!” said somebody. “My boyfriend is the drummer of the band you know,” said Opal, “Every groove he plays makes my heart beat!” Tahno: Drag me far enough to know I'm blind every mile that you burn There's a rider that's fallen and It's clear there's no time to return I nearly, I nearly lost you there And it's taken us somewhere I nearly lost you there Well let's try to sleep now

 Then it was time. Korra stepped on the Tone Bender and played a wild guitar solo. The crowd was starting to cheer even louder. Even Korra’s parents were amused. “She sure loves to play her music loud,” said Korra’s mom. Korra’s dad nodded.
