MAGIC - feat. evie, ginny, jay, mal, maddie, raven & annie
below the cut you will find a short description of the magic styles of each of my muses that possess magic in some form. as this will affect my portrayal of certain characters i would high recommend reading this post
Evie Grimhilde
Evie is a self-titled witch, though most people often forget about that since she's so quick to drop the role of 'princess' long before she ever reminds anyone she's a magic user. But the truth is, she's been reading her mother's spell book since she could read, and has memorised every single page. She could, if she wanted, be a very adept witch. However, she also sees the magic ban as something that needs to be adhered to, so tends not to use any magic at all, which only helps perpetuate the idea that she doesn't have any.
The other thing of note is that Evie is also capable of making potions and poisons, these two are stored in her mother's books and these too she has memorised to be used if needed. She's incredibly competent at it, as it's just like chemistry really. This is another skill she has, but doesn't use. Underestimate her power at your peril.
Ginny Gothel
Loosely based off of the Mother Gothel villains book, Ginny is a necromancer. Gothel was one too, but her powers were weak due to an error in what should have been the magic handover from her own mother. While pregnant with Ginny, Gothel employed every technique prescribed to her by witches to assure her daughter the power that she had been denied. This leads Ginny to believe that her father, although a sore subject, might be a magic user of some kind.
Despite the obvious flaws in the plan, Ginny has been taught the skills she needs to be a necromancer, in the chance that the barrier were ever to fail. Her magic is skewed towards the dead and the dying and you should never accept the offer of healing from her, because it doesn't mean what you think it does. Breaking the laws of nature is no mean feat, however, and her magic quickly leaves her drained. It is a more ritualistic magic than a combat one. She can't use magic on the fly via rhyming couplets or anything like that, her spells require preparation.
Jay Ayad
Even though there is no magic on the Isle of the lost, it doesn't change the actual physical make-up of a person. and Jafar wished himself into being a genie. That doesn't go away simply because the Isle prevents the use of magic. Making Jay half-genie, though genie is the dominant magical gene there. He is, at first, unaware of this. There's no magical transformation the second he gets outside the barrier or anything, namely because his lamp is on the inside of it.
Somewhere in there is a lamp that belongs specifically to him, once he touches it, or someone else rubs it, his magic will trigger for the first time and he will take on the role of a full genie. Since it would make sense for genies to come with their lamps, it is most likely his mother who has his lamp, but since Jafar won't tell him anything about her, he doesn't know and probably won't be able to find her.
His full genie powers encompass literally anything anyone could ever wish for, though while he is chained to the lamp he can only do so much. Should someone wish him free, he will retain some, but not all, of the power and exist as an incredibly powerful magical being in his own right.
Mal Faery
Mal is a very complicated magical individual. They are a dark fairy and a demi-god all in one. Their fairy magic operates almost exactly like that of a witch or sorceress, being capable of being used in quick-fire capacity as rhyming couplets, but also being able to prepare magical spells and concoctions over time (like the love spell cookies) and drop large scale curses. They also have the power to turn into a dragon, in which form they can breathe fire and fly. Most of this is standard magical practice. They also have the power to make fairy deals, meaning they can seal people into verbal or written promises with dreadful consequences if they don't adhere to it- but people can also seal them into promises too.
Being a demi-god, however, gives them the ability to utilise god items (like the ember), extra strength and stamina and, specifically, some powers akin to that of their godly ancestor. Mal could make soul bargains, or speak to the dead if they wanted.
There's probably more needs to go here. Mal is a powerful individual, but most of their magic is going to come from rhyming couplets or potions, or being an outright dragon.
Maddie Hatter
Maddie is not a magical being, in that she cannot use magic, she doesn't wield power like everyone else on this list, but she does contain some inherent Wonderland, that makes her slightly more magical than the average person. She can perform impossible acts, any impossible act, only as long as she doesn't know it's impossible. Once someone tells her that it should be impossible, she can no longer perform the act.
She also has the ability to produce almost anything out of the rabbit hole in her hat. It mostly contains the means for having tea at a moment's notice and she's never tried to pull anything more useful out of it. So it's possible she simply has a portal that can create the perfect tea time.
Raven Grimhilde
Raven, much like Evie, is a witch. Though she prefers the term sorceress. She was even given lessons in magic by her mother for this purpose. She is much more interested in using magic than Evie is, though her use for it is almost never personal gain. She's actual quite open with her magic. Most of her spells don't require rhyming couplets, simply sheer force of will, though they are nothing out of the ordinary for a witch. She can telekinetically lift objects and throw balls of purple fire from her hands if she needs to. She's also capable of some, rudimentary flight, if necessary.
Raven is capable of making potions, but she doesn't remember them half as well as her sister and tends to go off-book. Somehow, she always gets the result she wanted, though.
Rosanna Maudire
Annie is an enchantress like her mother. She specialises in curses and magic that teaches people lessons, rather than just using magic for the day-to-day. This doesn't mean she's not capable of it, she is, it's just not been a part of her training or something she's particularly interested in. She's an exceptional potion maker, though her speciality is healing poultices.
As an enchantress, she is capable of infusing items with power, enchanting them for a certain period of time with a certain property, like a sword with an extra sharp blade, or a flower that never wilts. Once the barrier drops she's happy to provide this service for people willing to pay.
She is more powerful with a wand.

Identity
Summary: You had been an angel since your creation. When you fell in love with Jinyoung, a demon, you hadn’t thought it would be that hard to follow him wherever he went – even to the fiery depths of Hell. Becoming one of the Fallen was much different than you had expected, and finding who you were now was important.
Pairing: Park Jinyoung x reader
Genre: demon au / fluff(ish)
A/N: requested by anon. I found your request fitted in well with the happenings of my demon world I already had created, so this is a follow up to Sacrifice, Jinyoung’s story in the King of Demons series. Although this idea isn’t as dark as perhaps you were looking for anon, I hope you enjoy it all the same.
This story belongs in the King of Demons realm and you can find the stories in this series here
King of Demons series: Havoc // King of Demons // Unfathomable // Sacrifice // King of Demons: The Return // In The Night // Identity // Prophecy // Someone // The Devil Contained // The Monsters Witch
Word count: 1860
Your fall from piety had taken a lot more to get used to than you thought it would. It wasn’t just the difference in temperature, although the heat had definitely been a little burdensome in the beginning. You were an angel who had fallen in love with a demon. And even though Jinyoung had done everything in his power, even going as far to erase your memory of him, to keep you as the beautiful angel you had been, your heart belonged to him. You were prepared to give up everything for him, and when the time came for Jinyoung to return to his homeland, you hadn’t second-guessed the sacrifice you would need to give in order to follow him.
“I don’t want you to lose your wings like I did, it’s not easy, Y/N,” he warned you, yet he held you close in his arms, his body not wanting to let you go like his words were attempting to. “You have always been an angel; it was what you were created to be.”
“As were you.”
Jinyoung chuckled softly. “No darling, I was always suited to be a demon. I like the fires, the warmth of Hell. You have no idea what you’re stepping into if you follow me. You can’t take it back. The Heavens will brand you a traitor and you will be banished to Sheol for the rest of your existence.”
“I’m already a traitor for not giving the Gods the information on you, am I not?”
“Yes, but-”
“Jinyoung, I can’t lose you. Fallen angel or not, if I have you at my side, I can do anything.”
Your confidence waned when you actually became one of the Fallen. Jinyoung had been right, your identity was an Angel of Truth, and whilst you still felt the same person within, there was something inherently missing from you now. In Hell, you had no role, no place which was made for just you. Of course, you had been very welcomed. As the Prince of Sheol, Jinyoung had announced you as his bride and everyone accepted you as that. You knew some of the entities there already and you weren’t ever lonely. But you didn’t have an identity passed what Jinyoung had given you. You didn’t want to just spend your life following him around, smiling now and then and being a puppet bride. It wasn’t what you wanted for yourself. You craved something of your own.
“You know you can do anything right? I’ll support whatever you want to do,” Jinyoung told you one night, your unspoken worries easily reaching his mind. He knew you too well despite your love existing for only a mere year so far. “You are capable of so much, Y/N. Just say the word, and I’ll make it happen.”
“Can’t I earn my place instead?” you asked and Jinyoung blinked. “I know I’m your bride and since you’re the Prince of Sheol, I don’t really have to do anything, but I’d like to. I want to help make this place better and remain as fair as you envision it to be. This is my home now too.”
“Do you want me to help you find a position then?”
You shook your head adamantly. “Let me try for myself.”
The very next day, you approached Jackson at Purgatory, smiling brightly up at him. “Y/N! What do I owe the pleasure of your visit?”
“Can I work here today? I’m looking to find my place,” you told him and the demon frowned.
“In Purgatory… you want to work here?”
You nodded. “Of course! I want to learn all about Sheol and its jurisdictions.”
“It’s not an easy job, there’s a lot of suffering that happens here. We have to make sure every entity is trialled fairly. There are a lot of steps in where you decide to place someone. Sometimes they stay here, others will move onto Silence or Torment depending on their sins. Are you sure someone as sweet as you could handle this type of work?”
“At least let me try,” you pleaded and with a sigh, Jackson nodded.
Jackson had been right in his warning. Initially, you had taken on his advice, walking alongside him as he scanned the area slowly. There were so many people and they were all doing so many different things. You admired his ability to know what everyone was doing, yelling out in the middle of his explanations at specific people to get back in line. It was impressive and you aspired to match his tenacity.
But you just weren’t cut out for the work. “Y/N, you’re an Angel of Truth. Yet you didn’t pick up that man was lying through his teeth. He pulled at your heartstrings.”
“I was an angel,” you correctly softly, your mood plummeting. You had known the man wasn’t telling you everything, yet his tears had rendered you speechless. You wanted to help him out and that was why you almost passed him until Jackson grabbed him by the collar, smiled wickedly and said to an official to take him off to Silence. You didn’t have the heart to be firm when you were struggling in your current weakened state. Thanking Jackson for his time, you trudged back to your chambers where you slumped down into a chair heavily.
“What’s wrong?” Jinyoung asked, looking up from his papers he was reviewing. Jaebum and Jinyoung had just spent two days strategising for a new district in Sheol to help lessen some of the volume of inhabitants there were in other areas. You knew he was busy and tried to smile at him instead. He didn’t buy it, merely rearranged his glasses on his face. “Baby, I worked alongside you for months on end, I know that face well. Did you not have a good time in Purgatory?”
“I almost passed someone because they played on my good will.”
“You are too kind-hearted for that line of work,” he mentioned pointedly. His words held no comfort, but you knew Jinyoung to be logical when giving advice. “Have you thought about talking with Demi? She works in running messengers around Sheol. That could be fun for you.”
You perked up. “I’ll go talk to her tomorrow!”
Again, much like with Jackson, you had given it your best. But what Demi had in skill as a half-demon, you lacked now that you had lost your powers along with your wings. You weren’t fast enough and a goblin managed to pass on your message to your client before you could. You then tried with BamBam, Sheol’s gatekeeper, but you opened the wrong gate and let out a rampage of wild ogres that took two days to finally put back where they belonged. Youngjae had invited you to help him look after all the creatures of Sheol. As an animal lover, you had thought you finally found your calling. You didn’t want to be judgmental as you had been taught to find beauty in everything, yet you had been entirely frightened by a monster he named Smoosh, that had far too many eyes and leapt at you in a menacing way. You were too scared to close your eyes that night in case you had nightmares. Finally, you had broken one of Yugyeom’s trinkets in a vision that he had before you could even start working for him, and so Mal had to tell you to leave before Yugyeom had another rage about it. With Jaebum’s lover away on Earth, her role wasn’t even open to learn from, and Mark was Jaebum’s right-hand man. You were out of options, and your heart hurt.
“Baby, did you do this?” Jinyoung asked that evening, and you didn’t even look up from the chair you slouched upon, not wanting to be scolded for cleaning up his study when he was out. Glaring at the wall in front of you, you remained unmoving. Your husband stepped into your view and held up a file. “Did you organise this?”
“Scold me if you want to, I’m too tired to care.”
“Why would I scold you? This is excellent!”
You glanced up at him and sat straight in your chair. “…it is?”
“I didn’t realise how badly the organisation was of my files. This makes everything so clean and accessible. Thank you!”
“I did something right?” you wondered and Jinyoung nodded, soon smiling sheepishly. “What?”
“You wouldn’t hate doing the other files, would you?” You shook your head quickly, jumping out of your chair. Jinyoung chuckled and held out an arm to prevent you from leaving the room. “Tomorrow, there’s no rush.”
It started with reorganising his files in the cabinet, and then you moved onto the land surveys. After that was the ancient texts, and you had spent a lot of time reading as well as cleaning. Soon you were knowledgeable about the past and present of Hell. Jaebum had been impressed over dinner when you mentioned about a pocket of land free for use that you had seen on a map earlier in the day, and Jinyoung beamed at you proudly.
“Tomorrow, you don’t have to work in my study anymore,” he told you as you got ready for bed. You glanced up at Jinyoung, a pout forming on your lips. He smiled warmly, reaching over to pluck your pout away. “You have an official position now. My brother was really impressed tonight.”
“He was?”
Jinyoung nodded. “He wants you to work in my office. Do you think you can handle that? I know you wanted to find your own identity without my help, but I think you found your calling. As a strategist, I know you could benefit my plans greatly.”
“We used to work together up in Heaven,” you said slowly, thinking over what he said. “I never had a problem doing so either.”
“So why did you shun away from me when you got here?” he wondered and you let out a heavy breath. “Was I too much in the beginning?”
“You knew who you were. You had your place here set in stone, and everyone didn’t second-guess it. I was a newcomer and I had nothing to me but my name.”
Jinyoung stopped unbuttoning his shirt and cupped your face within his hands. “You have always had more than just your name. I’m sorry I needlessly worried you when I told you losing your wings would be hard. I didn’t fall in love with you because you were an angel though. Just like none of our friends here see you as incapable because you weren’t created for this realm. You had your abilities all along. Why do you think I loved working with you up in Heaven? Youngjae was absolutely useless most days, you kept us running efficiently. It’s something I love about you.”
“Okay, stop there or I’ll start crying,” you warned and you felt his chest vibrate with laughter as he pulled you into an embrace. “I needed to find myself again.”
“You did. And have you?”
“All thanks to you,” you told him and Jinyoung pulled back, shaking his head.
“It was all you.”

Author’s Commentary
Carlos’ Dad
I have to say, it’s been super fun writing the little hints and seeing people pick up on them.
I do want to clarify some things.
Gods do exist in some shape or form, I never said they didn’t. I just don’t want them mating with humans and having demi-gods running around Auradon Prep. Especially not for Mal. Like I agree with most people that 1) the franchise is the Mal show and 2) they are just having her get everything.
I like to think my version of Mal is a little bit more well-rounded and not the next ruler of the Auradon universe.
When I say I’m not going to “define” the gods, I mean I’m not going to give a neat little package that explains exactly who or what they are in relation to modern Auradon humans/fairkind. I kind of want to keep their status ambiguous.
I said Chernobog and Hades are not Mal’s father. And I implied I didn’t want any god to be father to any of the VKs and I stand by that.
I want to also round back to my first chapter warnings. I cherry pick what I like from the Disney universe AND any associated myth or media with these characters. So think other incarnations of some of these characters from original fairy tales to other interpretations from all sources.
Also remember that I do make things work (I hope lol), so Carlos’ father is not going to be perfectly canon to any one source but I will make him make sense in LOE.
I’m really curious as to what people think are the hints. I know a lot of people are saying his “wolf” traits (I do not confirm or deny these are lupine), so besides his physical traits, what else are people thinking are hints?

Letting Go Your Anger
(( More to read of the Seeking Inner Peace rp bit! We’re nearly caught up to BFA content with this one, so enjoy! ^_^ ))
After resupplying with everything they needed, the trio headed to the cranemaster. They were each provided with rather lithe cranes with spindly legs that looked precarious as ground mounts. However, once they were seated and settled, they each had to hold tightly to their reins, because they bolted like lightning through the Forest. Over the course of a very uneventful week of mostly riding, with stops to eat and rest, as they traveled along the border of the Valley of the Four Winds, up through the Veiled Stair, and into Kun-Lai. The passage made June shudder with a memory that unsettled her, but she never did explain. As the Pandaren promised, by week's end they were approaching the entrance to the Temple of the White Tiger.
June pet her crane on the side as they approached, looking up at the Temple with some wonder in her eyes, "The last time I was here... I didn't take much heed of how beautiful it is... it's like I'm seeing it for the first time..."
Mal dismounted from the bouncy crane the moment they are within the shadow of the hilly path up to the temple, rubbing his backside. All the goodwill built up by not having to fly on rickety kites had evaporated by the second day. Now, seven later he was positively irate, not least of which because his suggestion of a detour to the vale to visit the supposed exotic bar there were shot down. He grumbled as he untied his packs, but paused as he looked up the incline at the trees and pagodas. "Well..." he said much more softly. "It is quite beautiful and tranquil. Leon, you should probably camp out here." He smirked over his shoulder.
June rolled her eyes at Mal lightly, waving him off and looking to Leon, "You don't have to, you know. They won't kick you out." But Leon was fidgeting with the crescent medallion around his neck. He hummed at them absently, shrouded eyes already seeming to be looking for a quiet place for him to take up their mounts and to have some privacy. Eager to make more progress, June slid down from her crane and started forward, marching with purpose through the Temple grounds.
Malodar shouldered his pack tightly and moved to follow June up to their next task. He was curious as to what more they could possibly learn, now that they had shed the bulk of their inhibitions and doubt. But the White Tiger was a legendarily awe inspiring creature, and he was eager to see the demi-God for himself if he could.
Juniper kept her gaze up as she walked them up the hill. They passed by monks sparring, meditating, stretching, and practicing other various disciplines with trained dedication and patience. That alone brought hope and inspiration to June's heart. She was definitely ready. As they crossed the hanging bridge that covered a sheer drop amidst the mountains, a Pandaren that looked similar to Tai-Feng was waving to them merrily, "Welcome to the Temple of the White Tiger. You wouldn't happen to be the trio from the Temple of the Jade Serpent, would you?"
Mal paused mid-step, head tilted and blinking as if trying to gauge whether the Sage had managed to beat them up the mountain. He certainly wouldn't be surprised if the ground travel had been a ruse to teach them some sort of lesson. But upon closer inspection, the details on the pandaren's face were different. "Yes, that would be us. And if it isn't too much to ask… if we are to be seated somewhere, could we request a pillow or two?"
The Pandaren let out a hearty chuckle, holding his furry belly as it jiggled. "I am sure there will be a time for sitting, my friend, but that time is not now." Even as the Pandaren spoke, Leon waved them onward before heading over to a cliff to sit, fiddling more with the medallion on his neck.
June watched him go before turning back to the Pandaren, "Are we expected by someone?" Without missing a beat, the Pandaren nodded and led them onward, toward the main Temple up the stairs to their left.
Mal took in the sights of the temple as he wondered who exactly it could be expecting them. Surely, they were not of relevance to Xuen himself. The climb to the central temple was somewhat taxing as he stretched his joints on the final steps, the toll of the ride still lingering.
June was also curious, but by the time they stopped, they were right at the entranceway to the Temple. The Pandaren turned and stepped to their side, motioning inside without a word. June tilted her head, "So, uh... who was it that was expecting us?"
But the Elder Sage merely smiled and motioned inside again, "The path forward may be shrouded in Mists, but taking that first step is always the scariest." A serene smile graced his furry features as he waited for them to enter. With a brow arched, June looked to Mal before shrugging and making her way inside.
Mal returned her gesture and followed along with little hesitation. He wasn't sure exactly what they were supposed to fear, but nothing seemed to be standing in their way at the moment, so he followed confidently.
June walked all the way into the Temple, stopping near the center of the large round room. She glanced around in confusion, watching Mal stop beside her. A few moments passed, and then a booming voice filled the arena from nowhere and everywhere at once:
"You have conquered your Doubts with a ferocity that your countenance belies... but does that Rage wait beneath the surface, ready to boil over?"
The voice echoed as the question hung in the air, making June's hairs on the back of her neck stand on end. As the echoes began to fade, both June and Mal would be momentarily rendered immobile. From behind them, the light outside grew intensely bright, elongating their shadows before them on the floor. Before they knew it, the shadows congealed and grew into a single twisted form of seething black and white energy, tendrils and smoke and glowing eyes glowering at the pair of them. The booming voice returned long enough to say, "Interesting..." before the Sha let out a hiss of aggression at the pair.
Malodar heard the voice echo about them without so much as a hint of its source. But before he could even begin to search for the voice, he was rendered paralyzed with a grunt, helpless but to watch as another creature of shadow emerged before them. He strained against the power holding them, trying for his dagger, but unable to do much more than scowl at the beasts.
June grunted as well as she struggled against the force holding them still.
A few moments later, the booming voice returned again, "You must let go your Anger before you can progress," he stated with a challenging tone, "Lay your inner-most rage to rest, and you may yet find peace." As he finished speaking, June and Mal were once again able to move. But so, too, was their adversary, hissing and roaring at them in defiance of their goal.
The frustration seemed to evaporate once Mal was free to move. He wore a smirk he had seldom used since his days as a warrior centuries before. He took his dagger from his belt and held it in a reverse grip and crouched slightly, defensive and ready to react to however the beast chose to attempt its attack. Far from looking furious, he had rarely looked so comfortable and excited.
June took only a moment to glance at Mal before leaping forward, letting loose a barrage of strikes against the Sha with her push daggers in hand, the blades piercing the formless shadow enough to make it hiss with anger. But as it swiped at her, she managed to dodge its attempts to hit her.
Malodar held his position. preferring to keep his defensive position, waiting for the opportunity to turn his enemy's own power against it. When the Sha charged, he locked his gaze unblinkingly and stepped to the side to avoid it. The creature's rage empowered it and it swung around, its forearm colliding with his chest sending him reeling backward by a step. But it didn't give him pause. The creature swung again and Mal easily ducked it, and swung his dagger in an arc, slicing a gash through the front of the beast.
As Mal managed a strike against the creature, June let her confidence get the better of her. As she stepped forward to strike it again, the creature's wail of frustration ended in a flailing of claws that rammed into her chest to knock her back with a grunt.
Mal followed up his first strike by continuing the momentum of his arm and flowing into a spin. The dagger flipped seamlessly in his hand and stabbed at the Sha, gouging deeper into the first gash.
As the rip into the Sha's body grew, it let out a pained hiss and swiped at both of them in failed retaliation. June growled softly and got back to her feet. But instead of attacking, she looked at the creature curiously. As she hesitated, so too did the ferocity with which the Sha fought waver. It turned to look at June with horrified realization and roared at her in defiance. June reached toward Mal, "Mal, wait!... Look at it!"
Malodar stepped away after his strike and resumed his defensive position. Her shout caused him pause, eyes darting to look but always flicking back to the creature in suspicion. "What about it?" He sounded the slightest bit impatient.
June pointed to it again. As Mal stepped back, the Sha seemed to falter, roaring in more defiance. It hissed at them, swinging its claws in frustration toward them without quite reaching them. June furrowed her brow again, "Our own aggression against it... it seems to fuel it."
Malodar twirled his dagger over in his hand as he watched the demon falter in its attacks. "I've always said defense is the best offense." He said with a confident smile. He backed up several steps, keeping his eyes on the Sha and his dagger at the ready.
June watched as Mal twirled his dagger confidently. This seemed to enrage the Sha entity more, enough to cause him to swipe a great claw at Mal. Surprisingly, it reached the priest enough to catch at his legs. As it hissed at him viciously, June furrowed her brow, trying to think of the best way to vanquish something without fighting it. The booming voice echoed above them, "What causes you to hold onto your anger? For whom is it harbored?"
Mal fell to the floor as his legs were dropped out from beneath him and rolled to the side, coming up in a crouch with his dagger still in hand. He frowned in slight frustration, quite sure he could fight the creature easily, but preferring for now to remain defensive. "Whoever you are, you're very presumptuous regarding our motivations." He muttered aloud.
A chuckle rolled through the room like thunder in response, "Tempered passion can drive a man forward in his lowest hour... but unfettered rage can drag him even lower down much faster. What brings your heart to anger, little one?"
Malodar frowned as if frustrated by the question. He was quite certain it wasn't anger that was fueling him. In the past perhaps, but he was sure he had shed those fights. He huffed quietly.
June tilted her head to the side in thought, tapping her lip. Her brow furrowed, "Is this a serious question?" When several seconds passed in silence but for the hissing Sha creature between them, the Botanist pursed her lips to one side and brought her pale gaze to Mal. She spoke as calmly as she could, though her anger bubbled in her tone a little as she said, "I've always held onto my anger towards my mother... for trying to put me in my place, based on what she thought was the ideal life... as a housewife of higher society."
Mal paused as June gave her explanation. "You're saying the doting wife with the apron and the rolling pin isn't for you?" He knew the answer of course. "Isn't anger justified...when your home is burned to the ground and the only family you've ever known vanished?"
The booming voice posed a serious follow-up question: "Are you still under such oppression from your mother?"
As it processed in June's mind, her expression turned curiously sad and blank, "Well, no... she's dead..." As she looked at the Sha creature absently, she swore she saw the snooty visage of her mother glaring back at her. Her eyes burned as she frowned more.
Malodar stood up a little straighter, hand still tight on his blade. "As is the source of my tragedy… I have only my task of finding my sister left to complete."
The booming voice echoed around them, making the Sha creature look around and hiss even more, "In your anger, you both have lost chances to live your own lives. You must let this go. Look at your anger... and release it from your heart."
For the first time, Mal showed a sense of frustration. "Why does everyone here seem so intent on getting me to let go of my quest. Do you all know something I don't? Can you tell me where my sister is? If she's dead, I'm happy to move on to something else..."
June frowned, looking back at Mal in sympathy. His frustration - his anger - seemed logical and reasonable to his situation. She lifted her pale gaze to the ceiling, calling out, "How do we let go if the source of the anger is no longer there?"
A second round of chuckling met their ears, "There is a saying about forgive and forget... Don't give up your quest... but clearing your mind may open new opportunities for you... it is the only way forward."
As June listened, she sighed gently. Pale eyes lifted to the center of the ceiling. She seemed to be contemplating such a thing. With a final sigh, she stepped up to the Sha slowly with push daggers in hand. It hissed at her, looking ready to eat her. But instead of defending herself, she dropped the weapons, letting them clatter to the floor. Her face was deathly calm. As she did it, the Sha creature seemed to lose a great deal of itself, shrinking in girth and looking less imposing. In frustration, it swung a claw at June, but it passed right through her - as if she were merely a ghost.
Mal tensed up and dropped to a knee. He took his dagger by the blade and threw it at the ground at the 'feet' of the sha. He didn't know what else to do. He looked up, awaiting it to strike, with only his bare fists to defend with.
The creature seemed a great deal weaker now as it stood over Mal, hissing in defiance. But June walked over to Mal, seeming to ignore the creature now, as if it did not exist, "Here's to letting go, and moving closer to our goals with clearer heads?" Even at the suggestion posed by June, the creature hissed in frustration again.
Malodar nodded once and stood, moving forward into the shadow of the creature itself. He looked up for a moment, staring the creature down. After a long moment, he bent and retrieved his dagger, sheathing it into his belt. Brazenly, he turned his back on the Sha and began to walk away.
The creature let out another hiss and a roar as they seemed to ignore it, a hoarse voice crying out brokenly, "Your... rage... sustains... meee...." before it sputtered out of existence. A final rumbling chuckle echoed out deeply, but this time it came from directly behind them. As June turned, her pale eyes went wide.
Sitting before them was the ethereal form of a great white tiger glowing, easily five times as tall as Malodar stood. His feline visage smiled down at them in amusement, as if he'd been watching an entertaining sparring match, and he stood to greet them, "I see you did well in purging your Doubt. It makes the heart more eager to let go. Your journey is halfway finished in your mission to surpass your pasts and forge ahead into the future." June gave a nod, looking to Mal. Her heart felt lighter, and she hoped that Mal felt so as well. Pale eyes turned back to the tiger curiously, but he hummed in response before she asked, "Yes, little one. I am Xuen. The White Tiger. Remember that true strength is not always in being dominant. Sometimes it's about knowing when fighting is wrong."
Mal paused as he moved to exit the temple, finding his way blocked by the White Tiger. After a moment, he nodded his head. It was hard for him to understand what he felt. "Where will we be off to next?"
The White Tiger opened his maw to answer, but he was interrupted as the shadow of another Kaldorei with folded wings stretched into the arena from behind him.
"Starstrike! There's been a disaster!"
As Xuen shifted to one side to allow the Demon Hunter entry, June looked at him in worry as she saw his medallion clutched in one hand with a death grip, knuckles turning practically white.

On October 16, 1793, Maria Antonia Josepha Johanna, Archduchess of Austria and Dowager Queen of France and Navarre (commonly referred as Marie Antoinette) was executed at the age of 37 years and eleven months old at the Place de La Concorde (formely Place Louis XV) in Paris.
Below there is her last letter directed to her sister in law, Madame Élisabeth:
**
“ 6th October, 4.30 A.M. It is to you, my sister, that I write for the last time. I have just been condemned, not to a shameful death, for such is only for criminals, but to go and rejoin your brother. Innocent like him, I hope to show the same firmness in my last moments. I am calm, as one is when one's conscience reproaches one with nothing. I feel profound sorrow in leaving my poor children: you know that I only lived for them and for you, my good and tender sister. You who out of love have sacrificed everything to be with us, in what a position do I leave you! I have learned from the proceedings at my trial that my daughter was separated from you. Alas! poor child; I do not venture to write to her; she would not receive my letter. I do not even know whether this will reach you. Do you receive my blessing for both of them. I hope that one day when they are older they may be able to rejoin you, and to enjoy to the full your tender care. Let them both think of the lesson which I have never ceased to impress upon them, that the principles and the exact performance of their duties are the chief foundation of life; and then mutual affection and confidence in one another will constitute its happiness. Let my daughter feel that at her age she ought always to aid her brother by the advice which her greater experience and her affection may inspire her to give him. And let my son in his turn render to his sister all the care and all the services which affection can inspire. Let them, in short, both feel that, in whatever positions they may be placed, they will never be truly happy but through their union. Let them follow our example. In our own misfortunes how much comfort has our affection for one another afforded us! And, in times of happiness, we have enjoyed that doubly from being able to share it with a friend; and where can one find friends more tender and more united than in one's own family? Let my son never forget the last words of his father, which I repeat emphatically; let him never seek to avenge our deaths.
I have to speak to you of one thing which is very painful to my heart, I know how much pain the child must have caused you. Forgive him, my dear sister; think of his age, and how easy it is to make a child say whatever one wishes, especially when he does not understand it. It will come to pass one day, I hope, that he will better feel the value of your kindness and of your tender affection for both of them. It remains to confide to you my last thoughts. I should have wished to write them at the beginning of my trial; but, besides that they did not leave me any means of writing, events have passed so rapidly that I really have not had time. I die in the Catholic Apostolic and Roman religion, that of my fathers, that in which I was brought up, and which I have always professed. Having no spiritual consolation to look for, not even knowing whether there are still in this place any priests of that religion (and indeed the place where I am would expose them to too much danger if they were to enter it but once), I sincerely implore pardon of God for all the faults which I may have committed during my life. I trust that, in His goodness, He will mercifully accept my last prayers, as well as those which I have for a long time addressed to Him, to receive my soul into His mercy. I beg pardon of all whom I know, and especially of you, my sister, for all the vexations which, without intending it, I may have caused you. I pardon all my enemies the evils that they have done me. I bid farewell to my aunts and to all my brothers and sisters. I had friends. The idea of being forever separated from them and from all their troubles is one of the greatest sorrows that I suffer in dying. Let them at least know that to my latest moment I thought of them. Farewell, my good and tender sister. May this letter reach you. Think always of me; I embrace you with all my heart, as I do my poor dear children. My God, how heart-rending it is to leave them forever! Farewell! farewell! I must now occupy myself with my spiritual duties, as I am not free in my actions. Perhaps they will bring me a priest; but I here protest that I will not say a word to him, but that I will treat him as a total stranger.”
Let us pray for the soul of this most unfortunate princess.

For the Descendants/Disney world what are the types of Fae or half-faes that have/could appear in Descendants? I keep thinking about if the magic ban didn't exist or was lightened up on, we could see lots more faes or half faes, but I can't for the life of me think about what would constitue as a fae or half fae with the Disney/descendants world.
LONG list below.
Fae
Faeries – Rangingfrom the highest level of “Full Faerie” which are humanoid inappearance and have the greatest amount of magical power andoftentimes skill, “Pixies” which can be humanoid in appearancebut vary in size from regular humans to just a few inches likeTinkerbell, to “Sprites,” moving, semi-intelligent concentrationsof magic.
Dwarves – Alargely subterranean species of Fae, humanoid in appearance, buteasily distinguished by their incredibly compact and muscular bodies.Frequently found mining gem and precious metal deposits, alongsidepracticing metalworking and architecture, though curiously, they justtend to be stockpiled and stored without any sort of exploitationaside from making more tools to keep on mining.
Goblins – Adistant cousin of Dwarves, also largely subterranean. Have gotten arather negative reputation due to their scavenging and mischievousways, raiding the food stores of animals, wild fae, and humans alike, and sometimes even making off with the beings themselves for whateverpurpose, so long as they happen to be near their massive undergroundcolonies. Only really exist on the Isle nowadays, due to very manyvillains, criminals, and overlords using them as a cheap andconvenient minions, and most every other citizen seeing them aspests.*
Undersea Folk – Ablanket term for all half-humanoid aquatic dwelling species in thesea, especially in Atlantica, covering that of the Merfolk(half-fish), Scylla (half-octopus), and all the other exotic speciesnot usually seen, such as the “Crab People.” Outside of FaeTaxonomy, may also be used to refer to the intelligent aquaticcreatures they interact with on a daily basis.
Demons – Anotherblanket term for beings summoned from other worlds, or existed in aparrallel dimension to that of a mortal plane, such as the Underworldof Greece or the Spirit World of China. Includes many, many, manysubspecies, such as Djinn like Genie, Jordan, and Eden, Imps like Painand Panic, Revenants like the Horned King, formerly mortal souls whohad used dark magics to avoid death and now live in a state ofunliving (“zombification,” in popular slang,) and the Loa,otherwise known as Dr. Facillier’s “Friends From The Other Side.”
Greek Fae/Grecian Demi-Humans – For the SHEER NUMBER OF VARIETY, and because theyhave their own dedicated list, this refers to any sort of Fae,humanoid or otherwise, frequently of divine origin, who live or originated from Greece, including but not limited to Lamiae (half-snake, half-human),Satyrs (half-goat, half-human), Minotaurs (half-bull, half-human),and Centaurs (half-horse, half-human.)
The Greek Pantheon –The Gods and Goddesses of Greece, lead by Zeus.
Elves – May referto either the “High” Elf who closely resemble humans in height, stature, and society, save key differences like lifespan, physicalcapability, and the shape of their ears, or “Maker” Elves who area diminutive species of humanoids oftentimes found specializing inand participating in some form of industry, be it creating shoes, baking goods, or crafting toys, for some bizarre reason. Please notethat while the same term is used for both, they have no significantrelation, except for superficial similarities like the pointed ears;how much they do have in common is still under study and much speculation.
Trolls – Massive, hulking, and generally unintelligent humanoids, known for theirincredible muscle mass and physical strength, their fearsomeappearances and even fiercer territorial behaviour, their omnivorousdiets that frequently include sentient beings like humans, and theirsmell. Like Goblins, generally only exist on the Isle as they wereeither frequently conscripted by unsavoury folks, or seen as a dangerto civilian populations.
Dryads – Physicalmanifestations of a forest or other environment’s health, stemming from anexcess of magic in the ley lines. Oftentimes appear humanoid exceptfor distinctly plant-like appearances, or animalistic features, sometimes with the ability to fully shift into one. Famously known asthe guardians and caretakers of their homes, but most just act asanother part of their ecosystem alongside the predators, the prey, and what have you.
Dragons –Reptilian creatures of varying sizes and shapes, very manysubspecies, and existing across a number of realms. Oftentimes areimbued with incredible levels of magical capability due to absorbingit from their environment, such as “gem eaters” having digestivetracts that absorb the mana inside magically-resonant crystals, manifesting intraits such as fire breath, magical healing powers, or greatinfluence over their environment. Generally independent and wild, though servant dragons are not unheard of.
Half-Fae
Demigods –Children born of the union of a divine deity and a mortal being suchas a human, or a divine deity stripped of most but not all of theirpower. An example of this would be Hercules and his son, Herakleides,AKA “Herkie.”
Half-Faeries –Children born of the union between a full-Faerie and a mortal human.Generally longer-lived than their purely mortal counterparts, oftentimes have incredible magical potential, but otherwise not thatdifferent, and lack many of the incredible advantages of theirenchanted half, like infallible memories. An example of this would be Mal, who is categorized as a “Pixie.”
Half-Dwarves –Children born of unions between a Dwarf and a mortal human. UnlikeHalf-Faeries above, don’t have much to distinguish themselves fromtheir fully-human counterparts, lacking many of the magical instinctsof dwarves or their incredible strength, or at least, not withoutconstant and diligent training, exercise, and nutrition. An example of this would be Doug and his cousins.
Half-Undersea Folk –Children born of unions between any of the subspecies of UnderseaFolk and a mortal human. Generally take on the characteristics of oneor the other parent, depending on gene dominance, but oftentimes lackthe full strength of magical abilities and instincts such as theability to talk to underwater creatures. Frequently feel a greatattachment to the sea, and some may even require regular exposure to sea water or other saline solutions to maintain proper health.
Half-Demons –Children born of unions between any beings classified under the“Demon” category and a mortal human. Vary as much as theindividual species of their Fae parents, though it’s not uncommonto see unusual physical features such as red eyes and naturally whitehair, the sprouting of horns, tails, and wings, and some if notparticularly notable magical potential. The jury is still out about whether the frequently eccentric behaviour is genetic or a product of their unusual upbringings.
Half-Greek Fae –Children born of the unions between any Fae beings from Greece.Generally mostly human in appearance, with some traits andcharacteristics from their Fae parents like children of Sirens havinggreat singing voices, but without the supernatural hypnosis.
Half-Dryads –Children born of the unions between any Dryads and mortal humans, orsometimes, the influence of living in a certain environment for anextended period of time. Generally human in appearance, but canmanifest certain characteristics of their Fae parents, such as a tuftof feathers on the forehead and nowhere else, long hair resemblingthat of plant vines, or the ability to speak to trees and plants.
Half-Elves –Exclusively used to refer to children born of the unions between“High” Elves and mortal humans. Almost exactly similar toHalf-Faeries, except for magical potential.
Half-Dragons –Children born of the unions between a dragon and mortal humans, either through enchanted means like blessings, or extremely, ah,“creative” methods. Also referred to as “Dragonborn.” Mayappear completely human except for magical traits such as the abilityto breath fire or incredible magical potential, or have distinctlyreptilian traits such as patches of scale-like skin on areas like theneck, cheeks, hands, and feet.
Half-Trolls – Theproducts of long-banned and reviled experiments in the creation of“better” servants and minions by evil overlords. Ideally, appearas larger and stronger than usual humans about 7-9 feet tall withincredible strength and muscle mass, sometimes with features likehorns and manes. Much more frequently, as misshapen and grotesquelyproportioned humanoids, with incredibly long and gangly limbs, toosquat and compact bodies, fang like protrusions misaligning jaws, orincredibly poor and disease-prone skin resembling leathery hides.Gradually becoming extinct.
There are noHalf-Goblins. The only detail I will give you is that Goblins always produce more goblins.
* How Dwarves and Goblins descended from a common ancestor remains a mystery, though both sides share a mutually agreed upon mythology about some ancient, legendary brothers: an industrious worker and his lazy, opportunistic sibling who were apparently the patriarchs of both species.

Finale - Rewrite POYW- Harry Hook x reader - Part 11 - Resolved problems
Outfits

Mal woke up at 6;30 am on the dot as she received a call from Ben, Hades had been picked up and was less than an hour away from Auradon prep. Mal thanked the universe for having Evie’s place only be a couple of miles away from the dorm building. She threw on a comfortable pair of dark grey jeans, a purple button-up and one of Ben’s jackets she had stolen a while back. She shoved on her purple converse and ran out of the house with the ember gripped tightly in her hand. She turned to purple smoke and her dragon form ascended into the sky, quickly making her way to the dorms.
Mal transformed back to her human (or less than human form thanks to her recent transformation into a demi-god) mid-air and dropped to the ground, rolling as she landed and jumping over the steps into the dorms.
With a couple turns and going up a flight of stairs, she made it to Audrey’s private room and took a couple deep breaths, she opened it and nodded as she saw Ben and (y/n) standing in front of Audrey’s bed, and bowed a bit as she saw Aurora and Phillip on either side of their daughter. “Queen Aurora, King Phillip” Mal greeted politely, calmly closing the door behind her and walking over to Ben “don’t worry, we will fix her up quickly and it will be like this never happened” Aurora nodded, trusting Mal as Phillip laid his hand on his daughter's forehead.
“What even happened?” Aurora asked with furrowed brows, her hands intertwined with Audrey’s “why did Audrey take the scepter?”
“She didn’t mean to, or want to.” Mal explained in a sad tone, clenching her hand around the ember “my mother, escaped and possessed her” at that Aurora looked faint, but she held strong, she needed to hear about what truly happened “she used a spell that uses the hosts strong, usually negative, emotions against them. She used Audrey to take the scepter and attempted to create a new body” when the two royals looked confused Mal explained further “she attempted a full soul take over. And even after I defeated her and removed the spell, she’s, my mother, still clinging onto Audrey’s soul. Which is why we need Hades to wake her up…if we don’t, we’ll lose her forever and my mother will take complete control of Audrey’s body” Aurora held her hand to her chest and took a couple deep breaths, tears flooding her eyes as Phillip leaned over and grabbed her other hand, giving her a soft look. “im sorry, this must be so hard to hear but I won't keep anything from you. You both deserve to know every detail.” Phillip nodded, leaning back in his chair.
“Are you sure we can trust him?” Phillip asked, giving Mal a stern eye. Mal hesitated, then shook her head.
“No, but we have me, Hadie, and (y/n) here if anything goes wrong, plus his visitation rights with Persephone and Melinoe on the line as well, so there's not a lot of reasoning for him to attempt anything” Mal smiled as Phillip nodded and relaxed a bit, turning his eyes back to Audrey.
(y/n) stepped up finally, her eyes on Aurora “Do you have an idea for why Audrey was so….emotional? enough to get Maleficent's attention?” Aurora and Phillip looked at each other then shook their heads, no, they really had no clue on what could’ve possibly made Audrey a target “may I offer some insight?” they nodded immediately, keeping their eyes on (y/n) “I think her grandmother is wholly responsible for Audrey’s mindset for the last couple years.” Aurora and Phillip looked at each other again, then sighed, Aurora leaning down and pressing her forehead against Audrey’s arm as Phillip crossed his arms.
“I think you might be right” Phillip sighed again, glaring down at his lap “every time she’s around Audrey, Audrey gets, closed off, and doesn’t act like herself, she acts like a ‘perfect princess’, but only around Leah. Otherwise, she’s just-…Audrey…”
(y/n) sighed, looking towards Audrey, it wasn’t her place to tell her parents about the abuse she had suffered from her grandmother but they needed to know and she couldn’t give consent right now.
So (y/n) told them all she could, keeping the extremely private details private and keeping the info at a bare minimum, wanting to let Audrey tell them the rest herself when she was ready.
The two concerned royals looked at each other one last time and then nodded “Leah cannot be allowed to see or talk to Audrey ever again, not until she gets her crap sorted out about all that nonsense” Phillip said sternly, his grip on Audrey’s arm still soft. Aurora nodded; her eyes unusually hard.
“Yes, we’ll talk details later of course” the two nodded, and suddenly stood as Hadie walked in with FG just behind him, who had her wand in her hands just in case Hades tried something “Is he here?“ Hadie nodded at Aurora’s question, moving to stand beside Mal and putting his hands in his pockets.
Mal felt herself stop breathing as the sound of chains and heavy footsteps came closer to the room, and soon the guards holding Hades, her dad, (which was still hard to believe but after everything that had happened, she couldn’t deny it), walked in.
Hades looked around the room bored, his eyes stopping on Mal and Hadie in the middle of the room, they softened for a moment before moving on, raising his brow at the presence of (y/n)…but he supposed a magic immune girl who packed a punch (or several) was good security.
He did a slight double-take on Mal as he looked at her new horns, his brows raising a bit in shock. Mal ignored that and took a step towards her father, Hadie flanking her just in case (he liked his father but he knew he was a conniving person sometimes and took chances even if it meant hurting his own family) something happened “thank you for coming” Mal muttered softly, straining her neck a bit to look up as her father easily towered over her.
“Didn’t have much choice” Hades drawled, pointedly looking down at his chains and the guards still holding him.
“Can you wake her?” Ben asked as he stepped forward, slightly gesturing towards Audrey with his right hand. Hades glanced at the sleeping princess and his eyes widened ever so slightly as he looked at her soul. It was almost completely consumed by Maleficent’s.
“I can” Hades muttered, but then he raised his brow “but why should i? I thought you heroes didn’t care about villains-“ Hades let out a huff as Mal bravely smacked his stomach with the back of her hand, her new god-like strength helping her get through her father's natural resistance.
“mom possessed her” Mal hissed out, her eyes glowing green as her hair started to glow at the tips like fire. “she isn’t a villain she's a victim. Now help her or I swear to Persephone” Hades gulped harshly at that “you will lose your promised visits with her and Melinoe.” The daughter-father duo stared each other down before Hades sighed and lifted his hands up, the chains rattling as he did so.
Everyone else flinched back as Mal, Hadie, and (y/n) stood still, somehow knowing he wasn’t moving for an attack “Yeah, I’m gonna need to use my hands?” Hades drawled, the guards moving to unchain them as Mal and Ben nodded to do so. Mal went to hand Hades the ember but he brushed past her, his mohawk turning to flame as he stepped closer to Audrey’s bed “the ember is only a fraction of my power, I don’t need it” Hades muttered, locking his yellow eyes onto the fighting souls of Audrey and Maleficent. Mal and Hadie stood on either side of him, watching their father work his magic.
Hades held out his hand and it glowed a soft blue, Audrey’s body doing the same. After a few moments, the room started to flash blue; lights dancing around the walls. Mal stared in awe as she watched Hades, his eyes glowing yellow as he focused. Soon, a black and green glowing substance; Maleficent’s soul, emerged from Audrey’s chest and Hades quickly brought the fighting-wriggling soul towards him and held out his hand. Mal quickly put the ember in his hand and her mother's soul, along with the rest of her magic was sucked into the ember, sealed away for good.
Just as Maleficent’s soul was sealed Audrey rose up with a start, tears streaming from her eyes as she looked wildly around the room. “Audrey!" her parents cried in relief, hugging their finally-awake daughter tightly as Audrey looked incredibly confused before realizing what had happened. Audrey burst into heavy sobs and buried her face into her mother's neck, her left arm looping around her father's neck and grasping onto his vest.
“is-is it over?” Audrey asked weakly, her eyes locked onto Mal; who smiled and nodded.
“it's over, the scepter is shattered and my mother” Mal gestured to the ember “is sealed away for good, she can never touch you again” Audrey nodded in relief and slumped into her father's arms, Phillip enveloping her in a hug and kissing her head. “Audrey, im so sorry this happened. I wish-I wish I could’ve helped you sooner,” Mal said softly, leaning against the bed frame as Audrey climbed out of her father's arms and pulled Mal into a hug.
“you did your best, and you ended up saving me in the end. Thank you” Audrey sobbed, Mal quickly hugged the princess back and rocked her back and forth. Then (y/n) stepped up, giving the princess a soft look.
“Audrey?” (y/n) started, letting out a huff as she leaped into (y/n)s arms “okay hug time, but; why were you even at the museum in the first place?” Audrey paused, then leaned back on her haunches, looking down at her bedspread.
“i-I” Audrey stuttered at first, looking at her parents unsure but (y/n) told her she had already revealed Leah’s wickedness towards Audrey…then everything spilled out. Audrey told everyone in the room about the mental, emotional, and psychological abuse she had suffered at Leah's hand. And then she went into detail about that night in the museum.
From her grandmother's words to the pull of the scepter, everything. Aurora and Phillip looked pissed and the king was already pulling up a search app to look for a way to get a restraining order on Leah for Audrey. She was out of redemption now; she would never be allowed around Audrey ever again.
Hades actually looked a bit sad for the princess, even as a god of the dead, and someone who had tried to kill his nephew a good dozen times; you didn’t treat family like that, especially if you claimed to love them.
Which yes was kinda hypocritical but it had been a couple of millennia since his “glory” days, so it had given him time to change his mindset.
Hadie turned as the guards flanked his father and grabbed at his arms. Hades sighed and rolled his eyes “of course” he muttered, he nodded goodbye to his kids as Mal turned to him and let himself be ushered out.
Mal stood frozen as she watched her dad leave, she looked at Hadie once, who nodded; and followed Mal out of the room after their father. Hades turned as he noticed their footsteps and raised his brow. (y/n) walked out of the room and motioned for the guards to back away for a minute, to give the three some privacy. The guards hesitantly followed her orders and (y/n) stood just inside Audrey’s room, ready to go if Hades decided to do something dumb.
“Why did you give me the ember in the first place?” Mal asked, stepping right up to Hades and looking him in the eye. Hades sighed, looking down at the glowing gem in his hand.
“like you said” Hades started in a soft voice, revealing a softer version of himself only Hadie and Persephone got to see “to make up for being a lousy dad” Mal just looked hurt.
“Why didn’t you want me?” Mal asked, tears flooding her eyes as her voice cracked. The question that had been wracking her mind since she had discovered her true father's identity; why didn’t he want her? Why did he abandon her? Why didn’t he try to see her? “I know you didn’t give a damn about my mother's status, so you not wanting me is the only-“ Hades pulled Mal into a strong hug, his larger frame enveloping mal.
“I did-“ Hades started, rubbing the back of Mal’s head with his thumb “ I did want you…but I thought you didn’t want me. Why else would I be confused about you not knowing about me? I thought she told you and you didn’t want me, so I respected your wishes and stayed away.”
“I did want you” Mal sobbed into his chest, her arms going around his torso and clutching onto him like a child “I wanted you so bad, I hoped every night my dad would come to get me, I hated being with her, I just-I just wanted to be safe and I thought you would be but-you never came” Hades shushed mal gently, rocking her back and forth.
“communication issues are a bitch” Hades muttered, patting Mal's arm “but-“ He pulled Mal back a bit, wiping her tears with his thumbs “if you want, I would like to try to be your dad? I know you’re grown up now and probably don’t need me anymore but-“ he shrugged, trying to feign that he didn’t care but Mal could hear the hope in his voice “who knows-“ he was cut off by Mal hugging him again and nodding against his chest.
“I’ll always need you” Mal whispered, squishing her cheek against his chest and sobbing again. Hades held her tightly and kissed her head “I want you to be my dad.” Hades smiled against her hair and pulled her back, pushing the ember into her hand.
“That will help you get some control over your new powers” he mumbled, “Hadie can help you figure out the rest and I’ll be on the isle if you need me…come see me?” Mal nodded rapidly, Hadie setting his hand on her shoulder and fist-bumping his dad as the guards returned and shackled him up. Hades gave one last soft smile to his kids and turned, walking out of the dorm building and being escorted back to the isle.
Mal and Hadie followed him out of the building, wanting to see their father off. As soon as Hades took a step outside, a swirl of green and lavender smoke appeared in front of him, Persephone stepping out of it and leaping into Hades chest. The guards released his arms and backed away; they might be on orders to detain him but you didn’t mess with Persephone. “my love” Persephone whispered, Hades burying his face in her neck as she hugged his shoulders and neck “I've missed you” Hades wanted to hug her tightly but his arms were chained behind his back, so he sufficed in hugging her shoulder with his chin.
“I’ve missed you too” Hades muttered, opening his eyes to see another set of purple eyes that matched Persephone’s “Melinoe?”
“Daddy~!!” the young goddess squealed, Persephone moved to let her daughter hug her father and Melinoe leaped up to wrap her arms around him and her feet hung off the ground, elevated by Hades tall stature “I missed you!!” Hades mushed his cheek into Melinoe’s hair, tears trailing down his cheeks at the feeling of finally seeing, feeling, and hearing his firstborn daughter after 23 years.
“το λουλούδι μου” (*My flower*)
Mal smiled at the father-daughter reunion, then took a step back as Persephone walked towards her “Hello Mal” Persephone said calmly, a soft smile on her face “I suppose you have come into your own as my husband's daughter” Mal twirled a blue strand of her hair as she flushed, looking down at her feet.
“uh yeah,” Mal mumbled, remembering when Hadie had mention Persephone being very mad at Hades infidelity with her mother “um-“ Mal froze as Persephone placed a hand on her arm and smiled.
“I am not mad at you for simply existing” then she side-eyed Hades who looked down at his feet sheepishly “I’m mad at him for being a slut” Mal coughed as she inhaled her spit as Hadie and Melinoe burst into laughter, doubling over as Persephone smiled at them “but, I would like to get to know you Mal, if you would let me?” Mal looked into the goddess's eyes and nodded. Persephone smiled and clapped her hands excitedly, dimming as the guards grabbed Hades again “oh…I suppose he has to go back?” the head guard nodded, giving the goddess an apologetic look. “well at least we can visit now” she muttered, grabbing her children's hands and following after Hades and the guards as they loaded him into the car “we’ll see you in two weeks love” Hades smile and nodded, winking at Mal just before the door closed. The three gods and demi-god stood on the driveway of Auradon prep’s dorm building and watched as the van drove away with Hades inside.
Mal held the ember tight to her chest and smiled; she had finally gotten what she wished for when she was 3 years old
Her father.

Le Motif émergeant
The evolving pattern Le motif émergeant
Prédication pour Pâques 2019 par Andrew Rossiter
Actes 10.34-43, Luc 24.1-12

American Gods - Neil Gaiman

---(y/n) POV---
Ahhh, lunchtime, one your favorite times of the day. Breathing deeply through your nose as you entered the cafeteria, your eye caught the baked macaroni and cheese, just calling your name, along with the cornbread and chicken legs near it.
Oh!! (favorite beverage) sounded good too.
Erza skipped next to you, babbling about what she was going to eat. “im in the mood for something strawberry~ oh!!! Strawberry shortcake yum!!”
You snorted at her antics, “erza, real food before dessert, remember?”
Erza pouted before nodding, following you into the line of meals, glancing wistfully to the desert line. You rolled your eyes, patting her shoulder “don’t worry erza, it'll still be there when you're finished.”
The amber-eyed girl huffed, following your lead of the food choices, mac&cheese, cornbread, but getting sliced mutton thigh instead of chicken.
You turned, looking around for seats, before spotting gil waving you over, you smiled, bumping Erza then making your way over to the corner table.
“Hey guys” you cheered, sitting next to harry, erza plopping next to Uma, “ hows it going?”
Uma hummed, dipping a fry in her ranch, tossing it in her mouth. She shrugged, not really having anything to say.
“notin mush” she talked through her food, you snickered, the teal haired girl blushed and swallowed her food “hated goodness class though, it's nauseating.”
Erza snorted, “I would think so, I full hour stuff with FG and her baby talk? Just kill me now”
Uma sorted, looking down at her food. Erza wiggled her brows at you, you huffed and tossed a crumb of cornbread at her.
“Ewwww?!?! What the fuck!?!?!” Mals voice screeched, across the mess hall, Uma, gil, and harry jumped when she screamed and turned, seeing mal making a disgusted face at her oreos. You and Erza glanced at each other, before covering your mouths to prevent Mal hearing you laugh.
Harry blinked, surprised, what the heck? Glancing at Uma, he raised his brow, confused.
“Uma?” he mumbled “wha’ the hell is goin on?” Uma snicked, finally realizing what happened.
“(y/n) and Erza played more than one prank” Uma whispered, not wanting Mal to figure out anything or accuse her of the pranks.
“they also replaced the filling in Mals oreos with blended up baby wipe jelly beans~”
Harry was lucky he wasn’t drinking anything because if he was it would have squirted out of his nose, he snorted loudly, luckily not loud enough to overpower Mals screeching.
Uma reached under the table and low fived you, grinning as Harry began to wheeze. Gil was biting his lip to stifle his laughter, and you giggled, glad they enjoyed your prank so much.
“well,” Uma smirked looking at her boys, “I think that’s a good enough prank for her to be into our group, right boys?”
Harry was still wheezing, so he just gave a thumbs-up as tears ran down his face. Gil nodded, you would be a great addition to the group, you were fun!!
“thank you~” you hummed, taking a sip of your (favorite beverage), eyeing Evie as she turned to look at Harry confused, she raised a brow at you, you just shrugged, the blue-haired girl huffed and turned back to her food.
“what the hell happened’ and why is Harry wheezing?” Harriet had arrived, and she is baffled by Harry's laughter, raising her brows at her little brother.
Uma snorted, shaking her head, “Mal got pranked” Harriet nodded, slapping her bother on the back, she made her way to the food lines.
Harry finally regained his breath, “I’ve said this once and I’ll say it again, lassie, yeh just keep surprising meh”
You giggled and gave a small mock bow, seeing Harriet returning and sliding to the side slightly for her to sit.
Harriet hummed thanks and glanced around the table, raising her brow at Erza.
“who are yeh?” Erza’s eye twinkled and she leaned forward towards Harriet, you rolled your eyes, dear god erza is such a disaster lesbian.
“me~? Erza, Erza Scarlet, pleasure ta meet ya.” Erza gave a flirty grin and Harriet huffed through her nose, looking down at her food.
“sorry lassie, I got meh eye on another lass”
Erza pouted but leaned back, respectful of Harriet.
You turned to look at Uma, seeing her glance between Harriet and Erza. She locked eyes with you confused.
Ah, she's confused by Erza’s obvious gayness. “Erza’s gay, she's known that since we were kids, big ol gay crush on wonder woman as soon as she saw her”
Erza turned to you, unbothered by your easygoing outing of her sexuality as she had given you permission to do so before, “bitch don’t lie and say you didn’t have a crush on her either, you literally said you want her to crush you between her thighs”
“I’m not denying that” you teased, still grinning “I’m just saying that she was your sexual awakening”
“true true” erza nodded, Uma looked at her boys shocked, they looked back, shocked as well, they didn’t know sexuality was not really bothered with, accepted without a thought, they thought it would be like the isle.
“well,” Uma coughed, gaining yours and Erzas attention. “since we seem to be announcing our sexuality, I feel like I need to get this off my chest” you quickly interrupted, not wanting Uma to feel pressured.
“ you don’t have too, Erza and I are just comfortable with ours and pretty much everyone at the school is chill with that kinda stuff, but you don’t have to feel obligated to share your sexuality, that’s your business, your privacy.” Erza nodded rapidly, wholeheartedly agreeing with you
Uma stayed silent for a moment, glancing at her boys.
“well,” she mumbled, your mini-speech actually making her want to tell you guys even more “im okay with telling yall, as you seem to be people I can trust with it.”
You nodded, Erza grinning along, Uma softly smiled, Harry and Gil following her lead
“um alright okay…” Uma took a deep breath “Im Bi”
“sweet” you grinned, making Uma’s shoulders relax “im demi”
Uma raised her brow, “what does demi mean?”
“oh!” you didn’t know that on the isle, there were few known sexualities on the isle, I mean they were known, just not by the VKs “demi is the shortened term of demisexual, its when a person who does not experience sexual attraction unless they form a strong emotional connection with someone.”
“ah” Uma hummed, that made sense
“I think im demi too them” Gil spoke through his fries “I've never really been super attracted to somebody till I've known them for a while”
You hummed “well if you don’t know then you don’t know, there are lots of people who don’t know where they are on the spectrum and that’s okay, you don’t need a label for what you feel”
Gil brightened, wow you gave really good pep talks.
“im pan” Harry blurted, blushing slightly as you giggled, Erza joining you “wha’? why yeh laughing?”
“be-because,” you snickered “because you must have a fucking time with being attracted to anyone regardless of gender!”
Uma groaned, along with Harriet, “Oh my fucking god you don’t know the half of it!!! He's such a fucking disaster!!! He flirts with anything and everything that moves!!!”
Harry was turning scarlet, slamming his head on the table, covering his face with his arms. “oh really~?” you laughed, feeling slightly bad for Harry.
“yeah,” Uma groaned, “he's flirted with Carlos, evie, jane, Audrey, ben, everyone!!!” you burst out cackling but calmed down quickly when you saw Harry glaring at Uma.
“sorry” you coughed, Harry just nodded pouting, face still red. Uma was about to go on but you flicked her shoulder, causing her to realize she was making harry slightly uncomfortable.
“oh, sorry har” Harry just hummed, his face finally cooling down. “Is alright’ “
“well” Harriet hummed, stealing one of Harrys apple slices, he growled and swiped at her, she just snickered and brushed him off.
“That was an interesting conversation, but I’d rather we stop talking about Harrys fanatics and just go back to normal conversations”
The rest of the group agreed and continued on talking. From classes to sword-fighting styles, the six of you were quickly gaining a bond.
Then the bell rang
“well,” you stood, gathering up your tray, Erza following your lead, “time for the next class, see you later guys”
The four pirate teens nodded, standing as well and tossing their trash away.
You bumped fists with Uma and walked off with erza at your side.
“sooo~” Erza hummed, a shit-eating grin on her face “Uma's bi~”
“yep” you mumbled, tapping on your phone, texting your mother. “that means you have a chance, don’t fuck it up”
“I won't I won't”
“that’s what you said last time when we were taking the history test, and look at your score, 25 out of 100”
“fuck off hood!!!”
