Black Starlets Around the World
Black Australian Women in Entertainment
Tumblr media
Aisha Dee | Alice Hunter
Charmaine Bingwa
Deborah Mailman | Deni Gordon
Emelia Burns/Emilia Burns An ongoing struggle with her name. I still haven't found any confirmation from her of which way it is actually spelled.
Madeleiene Madden | Marcia Hines | Miranda Tapsell | Molly Fatnowna
Paula Arundell
Sara Zwangobani | Sisi Stringer | Sophie Wilde
Talijah Blackman-Corowa
Zahra Newman
I know this list needs work. Australia is one of those places that I really have never cared about or looked into. But, I began noticing that there were a few Black actresses from out there popping into my awareness, so I was like... That means there’s a Black lady market/circle that I haven’t represented (not that I can cover everywhere, because We Are Everywhere), but I’ma do what I can, when I can.

Star Trek: Prodigy - Last Flight of the Protostar, Part I & Part 2 – TV Review
TL;DR – It is time to escape a world and find who we are.   ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 4 out of 5. Disclosure – I paid for the Netflix service that viewed this series. Star Trek: Prodigy Review – After a season-long hunt for one Chakotay (Robert Beltran), there was always going to be a question of whether the series would be able to stick that landing. That is a huge emotional weight with a payoff that is…

hi not to be all 2012 but im in my john blake feels and I have so much love for him (obviously mostly because jgl plays him ) and I love all the scenes of him
but the most favourite scene of mine of his is this.
it’s the first time we get to see the Batman in full gear and in action after bane broke his back. we’ve seen him in utter pain, despair and broken, and even tho bruce climbing the pit was such a revelation, audience was yet to see the batman, so even without blakes reaction, the scene itself is a monumental one.
but blakes amazed face is a shot I love so so much cause here is an orphan boy, who didn’t really have anyone look out for him or saving him, at least someone giving two shits about him for a long time. a boy who used to create legendary stories about batman and how he protects the weak and saves the unwanted. I bet little John always hoped that batman would come and save him from his foster houses snd the horrors he had to face, many times growing up. and may be, wished to meet his hero one day.
but no hero is immune to life and when blake finally does meet Bruce/batman , he has to give his hero a pep talk, not the other way around, (and damn jgl delivers there too) to come and save the city. yes he gets to see the epic motorbike stunt, but only here in this moment, blake sees him for the first time after thinking batman is well and truly dead.
and up until this point, in the absence of batman, throughout the city’s occupation, blake has been acting more or less like protector himself. he looks out for kids, is literally the only cop on topside, helping out to keep the city afloat. and when he’s finally captured, he knows there’s no one bothered enough to save him, and he accepts his fate to be an unknown dead body in a dark alley.
so when his childhood hero, the guy who blake thought was dead, shows up in full bat man suit, beats down the bad guys and saves him and him alone, you can see instead of detective officer blake, there stands a boy who always wanted to be loved and protected, who will always believe in batman and his ability to save the day. the pure amazement and joy in his face (again, thanks jgl ) is so infectious that audience involuntarily go all starry eyed with him too. it’s such a beautiful, wholesome moment and I love it so so much.
